Mr. K Alexi Shelby
Like a moth drawn to a flame, there is something utterly infectious about the music of Mr.K Alexi Shelby, better known as K-Alexi one of the founding fathers of house music direct from his home city of Chicago. Since the late 1980s, he has pioneered the true house sound, leading to a DH and production career spanning over 20 years, including collaborations with artists ranging from The Pet Shop Boys to Derrick May and from Larry Heard and Felix da Housecat to Will Smith, as well as gigs across the globe.
An impressionable young teenager, Mr.K Alexi Shelby developed friendships with Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy whilst attending seminal venues like The Warehouse and The Music Box in the mid 1980s. Being here at this embryonic stage of dance music culture, there were no rules or precedents, so K Alexi drew on a rich musical heritage that had seen him grow up in the 70s and 80s listening to Stevie Wonder, Prince, Curtis Mayfield and David Huff. Those roots continue to influence his music to this day.
It was under the moniker Risque III that Essence Of A Dream was released in 1987, firmly establishing the name of Mr.K Alexi Shelby amongst the most prominent of all house producers at the time. Moreover, those early tracks are still recognized to be the quintessential Chicago house sound. The rumbling and dark bass, smooth strings, incredible percussion and the spoken word poetic and erotic lyrical flow became the trademark for classic Chicago house and the template for everything else that followed. To reiterate, there was no template before this. This was the beginning.
This initial success has lead to Mr.K Alexi Shelby working with the leading names across the electronic music world and beyond. Collaborations and remixes for Chicago peers like Mike Dunn, Mr. Lee and Marshall Jefferson merely served as the springboard for Alexi to work with the best in the electronic scene, from Derrick May to Paul Johnson ,Ron Trent Dave Angel to Felix ad House Kat. Furthermore, his talents have also lead to him working with The Pet Shop Boys and Will Smith.
On top of this, his tracks have appeared on compilations by artists varying from Laurent Garnier to DJ Hell, who used It's Me 2010 contribution to the Body Language series for Get Physical Music. Produced under the Club M.C.M. moniker, the 1991 EP It's Me/Club M.C.M. has been a frequent selection for compilations for 20 years and is rightly regarded as a true underground techno classic.

Assemble Music brings together four more producers at the forefront of today's fine minimal/house/electro scene. Eklo boss Seuil kicks things off with JAM, a slowly-unfolding confection of metallic percussion and rolling bass set against a meditative, minor backdrop. His fellow Half Baked resident Robin Ordell brings a tipsy-sounding vibe to MOBSIW, each element swaying its way around the others in an off-key dance. Les Points' Barbir adds Detroit hats to a no-shits-given breakbeat and suspends it in time, before finally a 4/4 kick comes to put feet back on the ground. Finally, Traffic founders Martyné and Jacob draw on more contemporary breaks and electro influences on ELECTRONETTO, with that laissez-faire swing with which their label has become synonymous.

Tooflez Muzik is a Berlin based label that stretches the boundaries and borders of are presenting their first vinyl release by label head Danielle Arielli.

Tooflez Muzik was born in Berlin in winter 2016. A need for quality and diverse house music plus day long parties were the driving factor of the labels birth.

Combining different flavours of house music, from deep house and acid house toghetto tech and beyond, Tooflez Muzik is focussed on quality over genres.

The Berlin label delivers the 4 tracker, hand stamped and produced by Danielle Arielli. Danielle delves into the realms of house music, combining a taste of the oldschool and the new school with her own touch of soulful and jacking house.

A1: “Can U Feel It”, is a perfect description of Danielle’s take on acid house.
Characterized by synth stabs and acid lines in combination with mesmerising vocals by Adora Odilli make this the perfect dance floor filler.

A2: The “Backseat Mix”, can be used as a bass bumping DJ tool or a soundtrack for the sheets, focusing on vocals backed up by funky percs and smooth melody.

B1: “Gettem Down”, brings us back to the dance floor. Rolling acid basslines, cheeky drums and a funky vocal cut, make this an excellent prime time number.

B2: The River”, takes you on a a deep journey as the chords and synth lines develop. It is a definite deep groover supported once again by singer Adora Odilli.

Long-awaited “Uritorco Reworks” e.p. has finally landed.

Argentinian veterans Franco Cinelli and Ernesto Ferreyra teamed up to rework an old Ernesto’s classic.

Franco has been playing the original version for years and got the idea to remix it just for them to play. The result is so good that they wanted to share and release it as an e.p.

By taking a completely different approach they both transport us to the same place…outer space.

We'll dive into the sounds of the night with Nocturn, a vinyl only label based in Transilvania. The first realease put on the pedestal a dark musical epopee written by Breman, "Bass Overdose EP", a sound manifesto, a collide of styles between Vlad Bretan and Manu Burculet. This collaboration aims to explore new territories in the electronic music field with deep strong bass and noisy signals as leitmotifs

Our tenth release see's Ross Kiser team up with the talented duo Raretone for their 'A Little Story' EP. We have been looking forward to getting this one out ever since the lads sent it over, it has 4 originals full of grooves. New label based in the legendary logic house in Offenbach am Main. Envelope Mountain Records is founded by Stereosystem aka Bastian Pieper & Thomas Rauch. The style compass is really open minded from deep tech tunes up to melodic groovers.

Romania’s Victor Stancov returns to his own Simple Tracks with its second release, entitled ‘Bagnols Shuffle’ and accompanied by a remix from Cynosure’s Mike Shannon.

Victor Stancov launched his Simple Tracks imprint in 2020 with an EP from himself, featuring a remix from Perlon trio Wareika. Perfectly setting the tone for the imprint which leans towards slick, refined house grooves with a micro house twist. Here the story continues with the label’s second release once again retaining this aesthetic and keeping things bouncy and playful.

Title-track ‘Bagnols’ Shuffle’ leads the release, merging shuffled drums and glitched out percussion with fluttering stab sequences and oft, billowing pad lines. ‘Nothing Wrong With Going Back’ follows and brings a more loop-driven feel courtesy of driving rides, rolling snares and bumpy bass running alongside cinematic strings and bright stabs.

Opening the flip-side is ‘Georgie’s Units’, a dubbed-out house groove fuelled by echoing chords, rumbling toms and crunchy drums. Lastly Cynosure head honcho rounds out the release with his take on ‘Georgie’s Units’, treating us to a typically twisted take on the original with mind bending modulations, intricately nuanced bass tones, whirling synths and skippy hats throughout.

After Digital Releases in the past (SYMB043 Identity Module EP and SYMB034 We need to EP) the idea was born to bring both together for a collaboration and their first physical release. The Split EP contains besides the Original Tracks each a remix of their counterpart and showcase why both gain wide recognition with their style of modern crafted techno music by artists worldwide as Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and Marco Carola. We couldn´t be more proud to have both for this unique result. Enjoy!

Finishing off the initial "series" of Krab's vinyl-only records in style, KRB003 centres around 3 signature cuts from German duo Cedric Dekowski & Felix Reifenberg and a stellar remix from Yamen & Eda. The EP divulges into the multi-genre capabilities and eclectic nature of the HardWorkSoftDrink label owners, as there are seamless transition between genres, modular synths and all things in between are highlighted throughout the label's latest record.

Starting off with a slow burner, Act 1 is a hypnotic listen, formed around strung out sounds, glitchy breakdowns and a captivating overlaying melody. Laus highlights the pairs unique ability to shift genres seamlessly as they deliver a cut full of heavy hitting acid and emotion heavy synths suitable for any dance floor.

Internet dial up appears the theme throughout the B-side, as Feelsliker delivers a fast paced minimal roller that is stacked to the brim with bleeps, bloops and modular madness. Finishing off the record is a remix from French Duo Yamen & Eda, a pair of artists that boast a distinguished taste for electronic music. Dance floor ready, B2 is constructed around a heavy hitting bass line and an assembly of inimitable modular synths.

Wex 003. A special double LP that that depicts the mind of the Dutch producer, Eversines. This album is his first release and explores much of the vast world of electronica. From ambient to techno and much in between this is a special album for both the dance floor and your home listening. For the rest we will let the music speak as let you explore the sounds.
