Unknown vinyl-only label from Canada returns from the depths of the sea with Swordfish 002.

After two EPs on Pleasure Club, Johnny Hunter returns to the label with his first full length - Dub Is King LP. Fusing all of the styles he has become renowned for through his releases and DJ sets, this album see’s him incorporate dubby techno, spacey electro and UK garage flavours into one eclectic yet cohesive body of work.Created throughout the trials and tribulations of the last two years, Dub Is King LP is a message of optimism, unity and freedom, and is also a deep homage to Johnny's roots in soundsystem culture.

Our first release of 2014 is a split 12 featuring a newcomer act and a veteran name, both new to the Pampa circle, and both of whom manage to adhere to our sound while at the same time widening it. Ricoshëi is Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick, based out of Hitland Studios in Los Angeles. 'Perfect Like You' is one more pop-tinged numbers to appear on our label, with breathy vocals yearning for the next best thing, sublimated by the ambient tendencies glowing in the track's atmosphere. For all their rampant, nerdy analog fetishization, the duo still knows that emotion-not fancy gear-is the key to connecting with listeners. Hardcore Pampa followers might recognize this one, as DJ Koze previewed it late last year in his XLR8R podcast, and now you, too, have the opportunity to snuggle up with your very own copy. This is the kind of song that makes you want to close your eyes, not to sleep, but to abandon perception to your ears alone - fuelling your heart's imagination. The flipside is a new cut from Berlin-based DJ/producer Dave DK, short for his real name, David Krasemann, which sounds a bit like 'crazy man". And those already familiar with his work know he's got a bit of that madness-bordering-on-genius thing going on. OK, maybe that's an overstatement, but 'Woolloomooloo' speaks for itself. Just have a listen and submerge yourself into this majestic cyborg aquarium of a track, and within moments you'll feel the hypnotic, euphoric, nostalgic and anti-ageing qualities. Side effects may include dizziness. (But probably only if you are standing on the vinyl while it's spinning.) What a start into 2014!!

Am|Phase 001 is an exploration of culture and emotion. Travel, landscape, people have shaped this record in order to make the listener’s mind entering a world that belongs to him. Modular synthesizer is the heart of the EP and acoustic instruments are jamming around in a genuine and deep way.

Galcher Lustwerk's signature sound — a smoky stream-of-consciousness baritone shadow-boxing with beats, informed by funk, rap, rhythm, and blues — felt like an epiphany, impossibly hypnotic and complete. Resident Advisor writes, "100% GALCHER laid out a louche, lysergic and resolutely black take on deep house." Pitchfork remembers the music's immediate impact: "It's the sort of gem you felt inclined to pass around” — and by year-end list time, word-of-mouth intensified. It was Resident Advisor and Juno's mix of the year, and earned a top-ten placement in FACT Magazine's albums list, as well as Philip Sherburne's personal rundown for Spin." Since then, select songs from 100% GALCHER have seen small-run pressings, while the album has lived primarily on SoundCloud and YouTube as a low-key cult legend. The gateway into Lustwerk's now well-established catalog, known for its reliability as a late-night listen and its prophetic vision for the near future of underground dance music. RA would later name it a mix of the decade, citing its influence and imagination: “Original in every sense — unknown, unheard and unbelievably good.” In late 2022, marking ten years since he first recorded the material, Lustwerk returns to Ghostly International to release 100% GALCHER as a remastered limited-edition double LP.

Growing up in Cleveland, he'd tape over his parents’ cassettes and spend hours at his family computer recording loops and designing artwork for the jewel cases of burned CDs. In high school, he turned to Ableton Live and absorbed every electronic music magazine he could find at the local Borders Books store. In excerpts from the 100% GALCHER liner notes, Lustwerk looks back: "My dad drove me to this shop on the westside Bent Crayon, where I would get anything the blogs told you to get + whatever the clerk recommended. CDs stayed in their packaging, there was always an overflow of vinyl stacked on the floor. I was too shy to listen to anything before buying."

As a college student at RISD, he played in noise bands, plugged into Providence's DIY scene via Myspace, and started DJing weeknights at bars downtown. There he connected with Young Male and DJ Richard, who would go on to found White Material Records and offer their third release to Galcher Lustwerk, an alias realized via CAPTCHA test, a perfect artifact of its internet age. By 2012, Lustwerk had drifted to New York City and settled into a graphic design job, quickly growing disenfranchised by office culture. "Some days I felt like a token, other days I felt invisible." If there were a parallel universe, Silverlining would surely inhabit it as a devoted silviculturalist (one who cares and cultivates forest trees; a forester), empowered with superpowers to converse with the plants. But in this realm, the South Londoner can only daydream about a life in the woods from the warmth of his log cabin-inspired studio in the depths of the urban sprawl, accented with the aromas of forest air freshener. His latest Forest Dreams EP channels his pining for pine onto yet another slice of black PVA for your listening and dancing enjoyment. “The Lumberjack’s Call” laments the woodcutter’s cry for “timber” (or is it saying “deeper”?), stripping a disco-tinged house groove through a metaphysical sawmill, punctuated by Motor City-inspired synths. “Tepozteco”, named after the neotropical national park and mountaintop pyramid outside Mexico City, draws inspiration equally from US house grooves of Mood II Swing as it does the ethereal synthetics of early Warp Records. The release closes off with the title track “Forest Dreams” where the latter earthly tones are swept aside to meet the demands of dayglow techno sprites that haunt the electrics of Silverlining’s studio.

Before relocating to NYC in 2020, Pontchartrain invited colleague Javonntte over to record several songs together at Pontch’s east-side Detroit studio.

The collaboration yielded several songs that blend Pontch’s studio prowess and dramatic sound, with Javonntte’s wide ranging performance skill, and soulful style. “Cirrus”, as the name suggests, is a deeper cloudy synth-heavy house track, previously selected by DJ Holographic for release on Carl Craig’s Detroit Love vol 6 compilation, but get’s an updated mix & master, as well as a seriously heavy remix by fellow motor city deep house honcho, Delano Smith.

“Keep Dancing” features additional vocals by Javonntte in a hard hitting and highly playable “Detroit” version, as well as a completely different version re-mixed and produced in Pontch’s Harlem studio.

With "ERROR101" System Error introduces not just itself as a new label but gives us a hint of whats to come next as the V/A will be followed up by 4 individual releases by the artists featured on this record. "ERROR101" presents 4 well crafted dance-floor tunes that will expose any nearby glitch in the matrix.
