Welcome back to Mihigh on Hashplant - HPR016 - Limited Edition

Steppin’Motion has established itself as a hugely cultured label and event series. Its motto is “Music with a Soul, Connections & Discoveries”.

The art of DJing and a passion for the Vinyl medium are always the main focus and has helped earn Steppin’Motion a reputation as one of the most innovative brands in underground music.



In the early beginnings of Oden & Fatzo, the crew spent countless hours crafting what will later become their unique touch in the small town of Magny, inhabited by a mere 100 souls.
A few years later, they decided to share those unreleased tracks to relive the sweet memories.

Bringing his own sound signature, UK talent Matt Wills closes up the EP with a progressive UKG remix of "Inspecteur Gadget.

Short Attention Records makes a welcome return here with a new drop of wax that fits the label head into its roots in deep techno sound worlds. This one takes the form of a various artists' EP crafted with an intake feel for cosy floors and who better to kick off in that vibe than the revered Lawrence whose 'Hawser' is a groovy and melodious track. Next, New Jersey don Joey Anderson sets a slow and deep tone with 'Human Kind' which has moody vocals, and Japanese artist Takuya Matsumoto follows with 'Three Flowers', a more potent and driving cut with a fine acid bassline. Rounding off the EP is 'Desired Spring' by R/K, a loop-driven deep house gem designed for both listening and dancing.

Argenis Brito meets label owners Enivrèz Vous

After his remix for Keita Sano's 'Legacy For Leyton' EP in 2022, Tokyo-based Dayzero is back on Row with a four-track EP. Drawing inspiration from his urban surroundings, the ‘Lurking in the City’ EP is a multi-tempo’d playground for dynamic rhythms and effects. This EP sets another highlight in his growing discography, including releases on Livity Sound, ZamZam, Vomitspit, Sentry Records, the Chikara Project, and Nostrohoodsystem.

Next up is Standalone's first Vinyl Only various artists release Featuring Laughing Man, Fawnic, Two Dotts, and Illustrious, this collection is the perfect mix of deep grooves and soulful melodies.

First up is Laughing Man's "Waiting," a track that showcases simple drums and a bouncy baseline that keep the energy high from start to finish. The deep pad and melodic synth add an extra layer of emotion, making this a standout track that's perfect for any dance floor.

Next, we have Fawnic's "Chiral Jazz," a beautiful track that features lovely percussion, a nice rolling bassline, and addictive piano stabs. The combination of these elements creates a track that's both funky and soulful, making it impossible not to dance along.

Two Dotts' "Tantral" takes things in a heavier direction with its heavy drums and bass. However, the unique pads and stabs add a touch of mystery and intrigue, creating a track that's both powerful and atmospheric.

Finally, we have Illustrious' "Reflections," a track that perfectly embodies the less is more approach to minimal house music. The beautiful chords and continuous progression create a mesmerizing atmosphere that's both meditative and uplifting.

Burnski's Constant Black kicks with yet more robust tech house for considered dance floors. This one comes from the ever-present underground stalwart Diego Krause and he opens with 'Bound', a perfectly driving and deep cut with slinky drums and smart vocals that are brought to life with sci-fi synth effects. 'Munro' is brilliantly lithe and elegant, with wispy synth motifs peeling off a super smooth and slinky groove. 'Phantom' ups the pace with a little more tech house urgency but still plenty of deftly designed cosmic pads. 'Flux' shuts down with kinetic, tightly coiled drum funk and popping neon colours. Great work all around from Krause.

Born from the party of the same name held at Manchester’s storied White Hotel, the increasingly essential Bakk Heia label has consistently put out thrilling 12”s from co-founders schuttle and low-key cult favourit Jorg Kuning since 2019.

Stepping up for the imprint’s sixth release, schuttle brings four tripped-out cuts of contemporary dance music, showcasing his production chops across four stellar tracks, already getting an airing from Ben UFO on the Hessle Audio Rinse FM show, as well as support from Joe Delon, Kiernan Laveaux, Om Unit, K Means, Barker, Pariah & Terry Francis.

“schuttle’s latest offering begins with ‘Shadout’. Fractured celestial voices materialize from a mist of frosted percussion while a merciful kickdrum splutters above the surface, bringing with it the viscous, swampy murk. ‘Souvlaki’ follows with playful impish chatter that stumbles over the moss-covered bassline, whilst cascading snare hits tumble down abandoned wells, a gentle guiding presence through the forest.

‘Swords Dance’ is a 10-minute display of cosmic glory, where conventional momentum is abandoned in favour of complete ecstatic, unbridled chaos. After the dust settles on this fiendish bacchanalia, ‘Junkman’ creeps into the fore. Caustic mire oozes into focus, mist rising sluggishly from the reeds while an elemental pad sweeps across the terrain.”
