House Vinyl New Releases - News

Tracks from the Endurance CD released as 3 individual Eps.

This artist from the New York imprint MISTER SATURDAY NIGHT has been making huge waves after his debut EP and his remix for FOUR TET. On his second 12" he brings two mixes of this tune with the A-side holding down a sweet deep house mix while the flip bangs out a relentless techno mix. This is hot!

The first new Crazylegs music of the summer season is a bold slice of Motown-fuelled house music from Tommy Rawson, following up his debut on Sweden's Local Talk last year.

UK garage hero Zed Bias brings the dread with a dark, broken Maddslinky refix on the flip, after recently announcing his imminent retirement from the DJ circuit. Imami rounds off the package with a booming mutant funk workout, off the back of his debut EP on Druid Cloak's Apothecary Compositions label last November.

Crazylegs is a young record label birthed in 2012 from a five-year old Bristol club party of the same name - founded by Jambo and Shandy and now run by a small team of like-minded DJs and producers - tied together by a love of surprising, spontaneous electronic music and existing to provide a home for the people that create it.

The inimitable Rozzo (one half of The Mountain People) returns alongside the mysterious underground flava of C2U. Big vibes here !

After the successful start of the label with Taron-Trekka Maria Colors returns with a wonderful new offering from Cellule Eat. The three guys from Paris and Mainz have already shown their talent on French label Minibar, and for their release on Maria Colo they are moving into even deeper territories with an exciting, jazzy House track.

Time for the next regular Mojuba release after some fabulous contributions by Chez Damier and Nick Solé. The new 12~ is from Bernard Badie, who graced the 10th anniversary release with his all-time house classic Time Reveals.

London-based producer and Rinse FM associate Rupert Taylor, aka XXXY, has announced his second release for the Rinse label, featuring a pair of characteristically melody soaked, 'floor ready house tracks.
It's the follow up to 2013's incendiary club hit 'Got Me So', and is the latest in a series of releases from Taylor exploring ghostly house and garage for labels including Infrasonics, Ten Thousand Yen and Orca. Once again, what marks out XXXY's style is his deft way with synthesised melody: alongside sampled voices, everything is drenched in shimmering, spiralling lead lines that bubble with energy.

'Never Enough' builds from a minimalist, dubbed-out opening into a streamlined, acid-flecked house rhythm, whose central bass motif springs wildly around the mix like a rubber ball. 'No More' drops listeners and DJs right into the action from the beginning, coasting upward upon a deliriously catchy three-note organ motif that feels like being thrust into the middle of a peak-time club set. It crescendos with a huge, reverberant breakdown, before a shower of melodic fragments rain down like shards of shattered glass, sending the track into joyful overdrive.

French producer Mome makes his 4lux debut with this jackin Gang & Gang EP. Remixes come from Alden Tyrell & Gerd and Marquis Hawkes.

Kevin Griffiths steps out front with the latest instalment of the Tsuba Loves compilation series focusing on the boss behind the label.
The A side features an exclusive track to the album, continuing Kevin's love affair with the slower & chuggier end of the house spectrum.
Those nights listening to Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space show have not gone to waste! The B side brings together 'Revolver' and 'Enjoy The Bozak' previously unavailable on Vinyl.

We welcome our fellow townsman, the man with the many monikers Steve Mensink aka Frits Wentink. He has been making waves for a few years now with his original take on house & techno and thru mindblowing livesets with handmade controllers. Recently he started his own imprint Will & Ink together with Presk for their techno output which took the scene by storm.

As Frits he takes things on a housier tip as he showed the world before with beautiful releases on Fourth Wave and Triphouse. Bassheavy, UK influenced melodic gems are therefore featured on his brandnew Wolfskuil release.

AVA.`s debut feature: founder and mastermind Damiano von Erckert`s first solo album. "LOVE BASED MUSIC" is the pure mirror of AVA.´s and von Erckert`s musical soul. Features, co-productions and bonusremixes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, SomeOthaShip Connect artist Georgia Anne Muldrow Tito Wun aka Twit One, Funkycan and Imam Ally-Salaam complete the album and link House, Hip Hop, Soul, Disco and Poetry.
"LOVE BASED MUSIC" for the first time comes with an extraordinary art movie called "TIME SUCKER" on DVD by artist Hermes Katharis Villena Silva in cooperation with Damiano von Erckert: it is nothing less, than a visual concept and documentation of an AVA.-release.
"LOVE BASED MUSIC" is so far the biggest project of AVA. and Damiano von Erckert.

Brighton's Delayed Audio is back, after a summer hiatus, with another superb various artists EP, yet again showing the label's unique take on house music, and its ability to hand-pick tracks which mould perfectly together.

Here we see original tracks from No Matter What label boss, James Johnston, UK based collective, Latona, plus Espada and DJ Rocca to round off what is an exceptional package. This is undoubtedly another statement of the label's intent to consistently deliver grade A house music.

Selected DJ support:

- Waze & Odyssey - Love It! Sounds great - support.
- James Fox - Sounding good, will play all of them earlier on - my pick is the Espada track, there's something unique sounding about it that I can't quite put my finger on. wicked production as well =)
- Chamboche - This is good. Especially like the Espada track, very original.
- Kevin Griffiths - Thanks for these - White Dreams is definitely a cool jam and my pick here.
- Iron Curtis - Really nice package all round, thanks guys
- Dudley Strangeways - Jame's track is nice but Paragon Walk is my pick and the one i would probably play most solid groove and a heavy bass line - good stuff as always from you guys.

The vinyl only followup to their first EP and the cut they had on BEARD SCIENCE #7. 3 tracks: the sleazy disco rock number "SINNED" b/w the gospel tinged Afro-stomper "REDEEMED" and "FEEL ALRIGHT" with Kraut rock drums & prog guitars. Limited (350) in a full picture sleeve with trippy psychedelic artwork done by Myth Paradise!

longside our fourth release, we are pleased to finally bring you our first vinyl offering. Featuring two tracks lifted from our most recent 10 Track compilation " XVI Records - Volume Two : Imitating Life" (Real - "Don't Need Ya Love & Liston - "Mindset") and two standout tracks from our back catalogue: "British Princess" by My Panda Shall Fly & Will Ward / Decyfer - "Hoarder".
*The A-side launches headfirst into Real's - "Don't Need Ya love" a bright, upbeat house / garage crossover, featuring layered Todd Edwards - esque vocals & Jazzy synth patterns with a undeniable groove. Next up, is My Panda Shall Fly & Will Wards seminal "British Princess". Released back in November 2012,the track features suggestions of post rock ambience, combined with dark techno-laced melodies circulating throughout, completed with a ruthless, driving bass line.
On the flip-side, we kick off proceedings with Decyfer's - "Hoarder" a track which has gained him notoriety for making punchy, crisp house music with a deep sonic integrity. We close the vinyl with a track from one of our most recent signings, Liston. "Mindset" is an 80's boogie- infused party starter. Sweeping synths glide over a powerful driving beat instantly getting heads nodding. Then just wait for that bassline....
*The Imitating life E.P highlights some of our proudest musical moments from the XVI story thus far, showcasing just a fraction of the artists; talent and ideas that continue to inspire us.

PACIFIC HORIZONS return with two authentic slices of piano-led Balero-step: "WITCHES OF CASTANEDA" b/w "A PRAYER FOR SANTA ANA". Limited edition of 500 with a full color sleeve. Fans of their previous (mostly sold out and out of print) releases will not be disappointed. Due out in mid-May.

SPECIAL REMIX PACKAGE FROM Z RECORDS FEATURING HOT TODDY / AL KENT & SEAN MCCABE: FULL PICTURE SLEEVE NUMBERED (1 - 500) & SHRINKWRAPPED

THE BACKWOODS aka DJ KENT / FORCE OF NATURE Here we have the ridiculously massive BREAKTHROUGH track FINALLY available on JOLLY WAX. On the flipside, for your extra dancing pleasure DJ KAOS take the song into new spacey places Chicago electrofunk excursions, with an hyponotic bassline and some killer synths. BALANCE, the PRESCRIPTION sub-label, released its first 12" in 1995 with this project where GLENN UNDERGROUND first introduces his CVO alias. Now this stunning SJU reissue brings both mixes of "PARTY TIME" to the A-side and the flip brings the deep house classics "MIGHTY REAL GROOVE" & "BONUS".

BarBQ's brilliant album Many Days was released in Summer 2012. Now Highway Records is preparing to release singles from this LP on vinyl with great remixes. Many Days EP includes 2 original tracks, taken from the album, and 2 remixes - by suddenly passed genius Martin Dawson, who made this amazing remix for Highway Records last year, and Russian talent Asaga.

She Sleeps is the second single from FaltyDL's coming-of-age masterpiece, Hardcourage, and perhaps the centrepiece of the album. The only vocal song on the full length, "She Sleeps" features a brilliant, haunting turn from the Friendly Fires' Ed Macfarlane. Mysterious, tender and reflective, his lyrics weave around the driving, purposeful percussion and a melody that's singularly exploratory and gentle.

The single comes with a remix package that more than does justice to the quality of the original. Holland's electronic pioneer Martyn has reworked the track into a writhing, muscular dancefloor stomp. Gang Gang Dance need no introduction, and their take on the song proves why once more. Lifting the inter beauty of the song to the fore, they've turned it into an opus of rich texture and uplifting, melancholic melody.
Ital is the solo moniker of Planet Mu's Daniel Martin-McCormick, and his remix takes things a touch darker and industrial edged, warping the melody into something altogether more ominous. Finally, exuberant London boogie-ists 2000Black have worked "She Sleeps" into a deep, hypnotic soulful groove

RON TRENT with ROBERT OWENS, the one and only, inimitable voice of Chicagohouse music (FINGERS INC) paying tribute to the MUSIC BOX's legendaryRON HARDY. House music history on wax right here. Includes the main vocalmix and a dub of the song "DEEP DOWN". (FUTURE VISION)

The third release from the PMR stable showcases another precocious young talent in the shape of vocalist Javeon McCarthy, who's teamed up with fellow Bristolian Julio Bashmore to serve up a slo mo future-soul burner. Booming subs, cowbells and analog synths provide a brooding, dubbed out, 100BPM backdrop for McCarthy's plaintive vocals.

This is a remix 12" of the euro-dance-pop group Hound Love. Side A is a long upbuilding trippy house-not-house mix by Cos/Mes (Ene, Esp, Funiki). Flipside is a playful UK house, rubberband-style meets London-style mix by Enchante (Top Nice, Greco-Roman).

London club night This Is Not Happening is launching its very own vinyl-only record label after 3 years of hosting underground house DJs in venues around the capital. Arcarsenal have received praise across the board with the likes of Jus Ed, Bill Patrick, Shaun Reeves, Seth Troxler and Dyed Soundorom supporting their tracks.

This 2nd EP built from the full length features the title cut from the album and is followed by a deep remix of ''Darlene'' from Chicago's very own. The fresh ''Spaced ut'' starts the flipside and a previously unreleased version of ''Memory chant'' comes as ''Phase II''. Recommended!

These Days Records presents the latest Argy dance-floor compositions. After a thrilling array of high profile remixes in 2012 ranging from Osunlade's 'Envision' for Defected to material for Shlomi Aber's Be As One imprint, its time for the artist's return to his own imprint with 3 original tracks characterized by the cross-over House music soundscapes that Argy is well known for. The EP includes a special collaboration with the Parisian DJ/Producer Amnaye.
