A Toolroom veteran of 15 years and longstanding member of the #ToolroomFamily, Dave Spoon (aka Simon Neale, or the better-known Shadow Child) made his label debut way back in 2005 with his 21st Century EP. Having released an incredible amount of music during his time with Toolroom, he is most known for his massive 2006 hit ‘At Night’ which saw a huge level of physical sales and massive radio support. Eventually being reworked with So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia on vocals, turning into ‘Bad Girl (At Night)’.

2012 onwards saw Simon shelve his Dave Spoon identity, creating the Shadow Child alter ego and his own Food Music record label. Having huge success with records such as 23, Climbing (Piano Weapon), Ooh Tune and his remix of AlunaGeorge – ‘Best Be Believing’.

He is a prolific artist and producer in his own right, having remixed records from high-profile artists Robyn, Paul van Dyk & Dizzee Rascal. As well as scoring multiple hit records under the Shadow Child moniker, the time is right to bring the Dave Spoon pseudonym back online. Taking form of ‘Steels’, a refreshingly new, fiery and fun party record that you won’t be able to get out of your head.

Legendary Polish Dance duo Catz ‘n Dogz are on remix duties for this one. The duo bring a refined, Disco-tinged, festival flavour to Dave Spoon’s summer hit, adding a slick groove with an emphasis on the insanely hooky records brass section. Throwing in similar elements such as the brass swells, melodic steel drum hits and the vocal cuts, Catz ‘n Dogz have created a remix that doesn’t stray too far from the original but lives completely in a world of its own.

A cut that has it all, Catz ‘n Dogz has nailed definitely nailed this remix by putting their own spin on the record whilst staying true to the originals fiery but fun feel. For sure, ‘Steels’ is a record you won’t be able to get out of your head.

The second release from the collaborative record label project between CircoLoco and Rockstar Games, CircoLoco Records & NEZ Present CLR 002 features three genre-blending tracks from the Chicago-born, LA-based artist and producer, with guests including Detroit master Moodymann, Three 6 Mafia’s Gangsta Boo, and longtime collaborator ScHoolboy Q:

CircoLoco Records & NEZ Present CLR 002 takes NEZ’s blend of house, hip-hop, R&B, and electro elements are taken to new heights, adding to his illustrious catalog including heavy-hitting house anthems with Felix da Housecat, Theophilus London, 8AE and others, alongside his production work with Rio on tracks like ScHoolboy Q’s “Man of the Year” and A$AP Rocky’s “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2.”

The tracks have made appearances in sets from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and has support from the scene with artists such as Paul Woolford, Myd, Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, Marco Carlo, Joris Voorn, Tim Sweeney, Luke Solomon, and more.

The EP is also featured in Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto Online, with appearances on in-game radio and as a media collectable within the dynamic world of Los Santos. “Freaks” made its debut appearance in the teaser trailer for Los Santos Tuners.

The Toolroom Family is happy to announce the release of KC Lights' brand new single 'Cold Light' that lands as the highly anticipated follow up to his global hit 'Girl’ which, in spite of the global shutdowns of clubs and festivals last year went on to be the ‘stay at home’ summer anthem for 2020.

‘Girl’ dominated the airwaves with BBC Radio 1 daytime playlist inclusions, KISS FM, Capital Dance, Sirius XM in the US and specialist playlists all over the world. It has now amassed over 5m streams on Spotify alone and still going strong.

As we move further into 2021, timed right on the back of some of his most recent stellar remixes for James Hype, Topic, Blinkie, Lost Kings and Nightlapse, KC Lights returns to lift our bleak spirits with the aptly named ‘Cold Light’.

He has collaborated with UK singer, songwriter Leo Stannard, who is being hailed as one of the most talented and exciting songwriter / vocalists to emerge in recent years, which is quite impressive during these times of quarantines and lockdowns. Most recently, Leo featured on CamelPhat’s track ‘Blackbirds’ which is featured on the Camels album, ‘Dark Matter.” He may also be recognized for his work with Maverick Sabre, Tom Odell, Rae Morris, Lewis Mokler and many more.

‘Cold Light’ is signature KC Lights with a stripped back groove and tribal drums complimented by Leo’s sublime vocal which takes the track to a whole new level! It’s feels like another anthem in making from this emerging star and with a club mix and a 6am remix, it really is the perfect tune to take us into the promise of lighter and warmer months ahead.

ddwy the duo from London is back on Public Possession. Naomi and Ronan aka Nangi and Inner Totality continue to impress with their blend of organic, rhythmic dance music. Here comes a fat Toy Tonics remix package. COEO made 2 club versions of this track originally by Toy Tonics head honcho Kapote - featuring New York born, Berlin based Soul singer Kosmo Kint. Coeo's Garage version is a heavy booty shaker, quite different from their last release. This is very UK. You can hear that Coeo has been DJing a lot in the UK lately. After high demand, Fred again.. releases a repress of Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022) on March 31st after almost immediately selling out of vinyl copies upon the original release. the third in his series of Actual Life albums.

Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022) is the third in his series of Actual Life albums, which saw Fred again.. resume his diary-esque approach to production using intimate use of voice notes from friends,
videos found whilst scrolling on Instagram and samples from important records in his life. It was an autobiographical
chapter of work that pushed forward the heritage of UK electronic music while standing as testament to the power of music in facilitating catharsis, healing and celebrating the realities of friendship, love and life. The album was
instrumental in his breakthrough as a global artist and debuted at #4 in the UK album charts, becoming the highest-
streaming new release globally on Spotify on its first weekend.

The album features his hit singles Danielle (smile on my face), Delilah (pull me out of this), Kammy (like i do) and Bleu (better with time). The repress remains on a clear vinyl, but this time round the vinyl comes in a black inner bag and the tracklist now mirrors the digital tracklist.

Fred has quickly become one of the most talked about live acts as he transformed his Actual Life records into an immersive, communal real-life experience for the first time, selling out shows across the UK and USA. Fred again.., Skrillex and Four Tet recently did a series of pop up events across New York, culminating in a record breaking sold out, 5 hour b2b set at Madison Square Garden. Also been announced that Fred will be performing the penultimate slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Fred’s recent Boiler Room performance remains one of the most viewed Boiler Rooms to date, surpassing over 16 million views.

Shall Not Fade sub-label Lost Palms welcomes DJ Psychiatre (Sylvain Creton) to its cadre for an extended EP of hypnotic house, following on from his stellar contribution to Shall Not Fade's 5 Years compilation. The enigmatic French producer has always let his music speak for itself, and on Never Complain he cures lockdown blues with a collection of tracks that are uplifting and carefree.

DJ Psychiatre channels classic deep house and laid back, sultry vibes across the record. "I Was There" is built around a funky bassline but isn't overstated, tempting the listener in with swirling synths. In contrast, "Very Funky, Very Soulful" is exactly that: a grooving number that gets your hips moving. Genre-hopping, Creton then presents us with a rigid techy number in "Never Complain", still making way for some dusty soulful chords in a callback to his lofi roots.

On the B-side, "Bouncing Back" ups the tempo - pacey and danceable hard-hitting house. "Keep This Sound Going" is a swinging piece, somewhere between lounge jazz and house music for the early hours, and there's some old-school deep tech stylisation in the infectious bassline of "Feelings - Xdeep mix". Seductive whispers that tempt the dancer give way to a syncopated rhythm and funky, slapping bass in the record's climax, "Le Ciel". With an elongated 303-laden outro, it's as if Creton doesn't want the music to end - and neither do we.

Daft Punk's defining album comes directly from the horses' mouths, seeing a new vinyl edition in 2022 released via the ex-duo's own Daft Life Ltd. label. With no frills or fluff, every original track on their third album from 2001 appears here in crunching glory, not sounding an inch rougher or time-weathered. Aptly, 'Discovery' was described by the duo as a reflection of their childhood memories, when they listened to music with a more innocent ear; 20 years on, Discovery can certainly be said to have lived up to that original inspiration.
