Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record with completely new material there will be a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years. As you can imagine, there are lots of tracks that are good too but doesn't fit on the record in question because of the whole record's atmosphere or just because there's not enough space on the vinyl. But it would be a shame if those tunes stay unreleased forever. So, here's "Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole - gems from the vaults"! For example, you'll get "The Music", this catchy House banger from Jacob Korn and San Soda didn't fit on Jacob's debut collaboration album but has seduced so many people to dance since it was produced. The combination of the vocal sample, the catchy piano chords and the percussions are just too hard to resist. Also, "In Circles" by Cuthead is a favourite since its release on the digital-only "Resteessen EP". No wonder, after all this track has all the ingredients a Cuthead fan is longing for. Many have waited for another signal of C-Beams, the project from Break SL and Sandrow M. "Beaming City" is not a new song but a wonderful one with its combination of tricky drumming and melancholic synths. It's a reminder of what is so special about the project. We'll see what the future will bring for C-Beams. Finally, Credit 00 slows down things and seeks for an "Elsewhere Girl" that seems to hide in dark and spooky swamps. Besides lots of other artists it was former Dresden and now Berlin based artist Paul Waak who had a formative influence on all the visual aspects of Uncanny Valley. Sure thing that he was the man to create the artwork for both records in true Paul Waak style.

With a career spanning over 26 years; his back catalogue includes 7 studio albums, 100s of remixes and countless singles under various aliases - Defected Records welcome Armand as their 27th House Master, alongside Frankie Knuckles, MK, Masters At Work and the latest, his good friend Todd Terry.
Armand Van Helden - House Masters showcases his incredible versatility as a producer, with a selection of both anthemic songs and straight-up club tracks. The album features 20 of the Boston-born producer's finest productions, from recent commercial hits like 'Barbra Streisand' as Duck Sauce (w/ A-Trak) to old skool gems such as his Crazy Trauma Mix of 'Stay Together' by Barbara Tucker back in '95. His remix of 2016 summer anthem 'Freak Like Me' by Lee Walker vs. DJ Deeon is another example that Armand is still at the forefront of pushing boundaries in dance music, just as he was 22 years earlier when dropping his game-changing remix of Kim English's 'Nitelife', which is still a staple in many DJs' sets today.
For a man who 'hated house music', before falling head over heels for it back in the early 90s, Armand Van Helden has established himself as one of the most-loved and in demand producers on the planet. This album is another milestone in a career that continues to go from strength-to-strength, making it a must-have for any lover of house.

This EP for us represents a period where we've been enjoying loads of new music, and have gotten inspiration from many different sources, to see in what way we can expand the Detroit Swindle sound. The 4 tracks on this EP each showcase a different part of us ranging from house to acid to disco to warehouse, and will have something for the classic DS fan, as well as some new vibes. Magic Waves delivers the third and final installment in its series of EPs focusing on established artists working in disguise and encouraging the listener to put the music first' ahead of names, trends or gimmicks. 'Music First Vol 3' opens in serious style with Fashionable Male's epic EBM/New Beat stormer 'Hardbody', slow, deep and hard, building pressure to a crushing crescendo and guaranteed to drench any industrial basement dancefloor in litres of sweat. As if that wasn't enough of an audiophysical workout we're also treated on Side A to Deflektor1000's 'Krunch', a punchy analogue technoid jam for the DJs that raves the bpm's up to the next level in classic Detroit-Chicago style featuring whooshing strings, grinding bass and generally heavily elevating vibes. Flipping over to Side B things quickly get deeply hypnotic and very acidic indeed courtesy of Pagan Ritual's squelching and jacking box-jam 'Think Like Me', another bomb no doubt destined to sit in many a DJ-bag for a long time. And closing things off we have an analogue Italo-Electro instrumental hard-rocker from Albert Ross in the shape of 'Fly Away', one that has been doing the rounds in the underground for some time and even popping up in the occasional I-F mix or two, finally available on wax but just as mysterious as ever. Copies are limited so don't be slow...you snooze, you lose!

The first release of 2014 on Busy P's Ed Banger imprint comes from the head man himself and he's served up a solid set of remixes. Breakbot turns his hand at reworking 'This Song' and although it features those dreamy synths and quintessential guitar licks it displays a slightly deeper feel for the disco producer. Desirre and Djedjotronic also remix 'This Song' with very positive results, and there's even a wild and erratic Bok Bok remix of 'Procrastinator'. The stand-out, however, comes in the form of 'Rainbow Man 2.0' which sees the cracking original get a shiny and more outrageous makeover.

All roads lead to Croatia this summer. In August Defected will host its first full festival at the celebrated Garden Resort in Tisno on the stunning Adriatic coast. Defected Croatia 2016 is set to bring five days of pure house hedonism to this idyllic spot with an incredible line-up of quality artists and DJs, a unique blend of talent that will seefresh underground performers, superstar DJs and a community of discerning house enthusiasts share a truly special week of music.

The album Defected In The House Croatia truly reflects what the new festival is all about. Our debut Croatia release comes in three parts, with each side mixedby a producer not only taking their place on this year's line-up but also making genuine waves in the house music world right now. Kai Alcé, Crookers and Dario D'Attis are three key players featuring in the significant dance charts and shaping the house sound of this summer. They have captured the essence of what's givingCroatia such wide impact on today's global house music scene.

Each producer has come up with a mix that sets the tone for the festival's beach bar, mainstage and sun-soaked boat party settings. The mixes include a balance of big-hitting tracks like these along with lesser-known cuts chosen especially for this release by Kai, Crookers and Dario, giving an insight into their DJ selections and the artists they are currently rating.
Club favourites ATFC, Tommy Bones, Dennis Ferrer, Kerri Chandler and Kings Of Tomorrow tracks are also in the album, expertly mixed by the producers who represent the label's forward-thinking sound intuitively. Defected In The House Croatia is the ultimate preview for this summer's inaugural Croatia festival adventure.
