After a well received opening release from Luca Piermattei, Fresh Tunez have announced their second installment. At the controls this time they have DJ Gerald aka Himalaya Juice Culture, the “For President“ EP contains five tracks that meander through various dance floor influences, each of them providing a warm and enriched experience.

Diving in at the deep end is “M.RX7” a pacey and energetic quest, living up to the playful and animated ethos of the label, spacey synths circulate the belly of the track. The sleek and silky sounds of “Weakand” create an inviting atmosphere for the listener, as you become absorbed by the deep and emotional chords, and tight drum arrangements.

Riding a squiggling groove on the B side is “Stuva”, subtle acid tinges lace the track enabling it to heat up any given dancefloor. B2 “Yamaha” shows some real intelligent tenacity, and versatility in DJ Gerald’s sound. Melt in your mouth pads breathing life into the glitchy broken drums. A fitting end to the EP is “Hey Hey Stay One”, a two and a half minute trip of unique and blissful textures to ease you out of the release.

The System Error brand continues to shine in recent times with a slew of high quality and sought after releases under their belt, showing no signs of slowing down over the next period, with TUNEZ002 being a fantastic addition to the refined catalogue.

German talents Júlio Cruz and Momo Arigato join forces for a superb new deep house release for Istanbul based imprint Petra, with each artist taking care of two originals each.

Cologne based Júlio's tracks are close to the dance floor with a chill vibe that really makes a mark. His opener Chercher La Nuit is a bubbling house cut with a warm and fat bassline. Lush chords bring light and emotion and carry you away. Dancing Love Affair has a big heart with soulful chords and disco tinged beats getting you moving.

Leipzig's Momo Arigato's tracks represent the pure side of house music with sampled elements bringing them alive and have come on labels like Friend in Need and Bigbait before now.. Mario's Rhythm is a raw, DIY groove with rough edged kicks and blasts of bass that are smoothed out with lush chords and experimental modulated sounds. Don't Believe is a dreamy track with cloudy pads and lumpy beats that are perfectly atmospheric and authentic. This then is a killer Ep.

The return of…KiNK. His first original record after the latest album and a few bits here and there, is an ode to the miraculous grip that a piano still holds over almost any dance floor. Unmistakably titled „Piano Power Ep“, the Bulgarian hit factory does what it does best: infectious melodies, moving bass and gnarly acid lines as well as the ill beats around. Born out of studio rehearsals for live sets, „2 love U“ is a freestyle jam with regular collaborator Rachel Row (see Hand Made EP or „Follow The Step“): KiNK on keys and Rachel in the vocal booth results in pure positivism, energetic hooks and a certain pop magic. Think Rozalla, Bizarre Inc. or any other sign long and you are almost there. Instrumental included for the faint at heart.
„I Remember“ on the other hand, which is also available as one of KiNK’s beloved video workouts, is presented here as a „303 Mix“ that loses the classic house sample of the first version, in favor of - well, another classic dance music ingredient - the squelchy sound that DJ Pierre invented.
Last, but not least. „Raw“ is the kind of happy-go-lucky piano-bazooka that revokes the spirit of Baltimore’s production outfit Basement Boys in todays’ pagan parties. Using the minimum amount of music tools (lack of effects, volume changes creating dynamics and no more than four instruments), it als feels like KiNK’s reply to Herbert’s infamous dogma. If the ingredients are good enough, you don’t need any spices.

It's celebrating being able to do your favourite things again, it's celebrating being able to dance in your favourite clubs again and it's celebrating being able to see your favourite friends & family again.

The ever-popular Laurence Guy chalks up his fourth vinyl release on Bristol's Shall Not Fade, sharing four tracks which span the breadth of his production skill. After a year which started with the stunning Mutual Excitement is a Wonderful Thing, and saw Guy remix rising artists like Dermot Kennedy & Sofia Kourtesis, it is a delight to see him return to the label which has become something of a home for him.

Your Good Times Are Here EP's title track is a reprise to the sun-soaked filter house of 2020's "Your Good Times Will Come", leaning on the club sound palette harder than its forebear and making subtle explorations into acid grooves. "I Know You Feel Sad" strikes a
contrast, its slowly stuttering rhythm and vocals stuck on repeat giving a sombre sense of reflection - the party vibes quickly returning for "Yeh Good, You?" a pacey 303 number which pauses just enough for a distorted, breathless breakdown. Making reference to the outing on Shall Not Fade from early 2021, "Mutual Disappointment is a Terrible Thing" closes the record on lingering piano melodies and eerie vocals - a delicate reflection upon its sister track.

SUB/012 comes from the Liverpudlian wunderkind DMC. 4 mega bass heavy cuts in his unique style. The tracks slap you round the face leaving you wondering where is left and right while your head is still in the clouds with his wonderful melodies.

The world of dance music 25 years ago was a very different place from the one we now inhabit. Rave had transitioned through Hardcore into Drum & Bass whilst UK Garage was brewing nicely and the UK pop charts were full of underground dance records. Meanwhile, the likes of Mo Wax, Ninjatune and Compost were pushing away from the dancefloors, introducing blunted beats, jazz-fusion sonics and a whole new movement to electronic music. It was into this atmosphere that Freerange was born, a UK label that reaches its quarter-century this year. At the helm over the last 25 years has been the partnership of childhood friends Tom Roberts and Jamie ‘Jimpster’ Odell.

It’s been a long and eventful journey, from an era of 56k modems, faxed reaction reports and when DJs still bought actual records, Freerange has weathered many storms and sailed through some of the most revolutionary changes to hit the music industry. Through those 25 years, and like the proverbial comforting sound of Bob Ross’ voice, Jimpster’s own music and those artists he releases through the label remain a constantly reliable, not to mention dance floor-smashing presence through the ups and downs of the house music continuum.

This Anthology brings together some of Jimpster’s finest productions across two double pack vinyl LPs from the preceding two and a half decades, showcasing his detailed approach to production and proving why he continues to thrive in the current scene, continuing to be held in high regard by many of the founding fathers of house music and young up and coming producers alike.

The comp kicks off with the absolute dance floor fire of 2008’s ‘Dangly Panther’, a simple combo of some keys, some beats, some FX and a jazzy sample, but executed with such class and confidence that it became a deep house staple. ‘Seventh Wave’ first appeared in 2006 as part of Jimpster’s ‘Amour’ album. It’s a bit deeper, a bit techier and with a few more bleeps and plenty of that characteristic Jimpster heft and weight: proper 3 am business. ‘Don’t Push It’, features some of finest percussion you’ll hear on a contemporary house record, gorgeous strings and that indefinable something that Jimpster brings to all his records, that raise them above being a collection of pads, keys, beats and bass into compositions with longevity that you can dig out and play ten years after release and they still slay.

In some ways, this collection is a record of developments in UK Deep House as Jimpster slowly refined his sound over the years, continually reinventing the 4/4 template, creating new sounds, fresh chord progressions and original audio ideas, all geared towards creating memorable dance floor moments. He’s perfected a UK version of the sublime anticipation that is at the heart of the very best Deep House, that sense of sitting on the very edge of ecstasy, creating tracks that wonderfully stretch out those blissful moments.

What also becomes clear from listening through this compilation is the variety of styles and moods he’s bought to his releases. 2009’s ‘Sleeper’ for example is sleek, driving and futurist while 2018’s ‘Curve’ almost glows with a sun-kissed warmth. ‘Can’t Stop Loving’ from 2012’s ‘These Times’ EP is another tough jam, with its twisted vocal sample and prominent kick working in perfect sync with a set of classic Jimpster arms-in-the-air chords and wonderfully squelching bassline, an exercise in confident production. Meanwhile, the beguiling ‘Rollergirl’ has hints of EBM in its rigid sequenced bassline and epic pads.

Bringing us bang up to date is last year’s anthem-in-waiting ‘One’ featuring Casamena, a ticking time bomb of a track just yearning for a packed dance floor to go off in. Also included is the magnificent ‘English Rose’ featuring some of the tightest beats ever put on wax and its vocal-pads that are haunted by the ghost of ‘Blue Monday’. Ben Watt’s Buzzin Fly label was home to 2006’s ‘Square Up’, seven and a half minutes of gorgeous chords getting thoroughly rinsed out through a series of subtle peaks and troughs, Deep House heaven. In contrast, we’ve also included 2018’s absolute monster ‘Burning Up’, a taste of the tougher side of Jimpster’s production and a track 100% guaranteed to take the roof off every time. Likewise, his ‘A Love Like This’ is another crisp and highly efficient underground anthem. The album finishes on the almost-psychedelic sonic-soul treat ‘The Sun Comes Up’ featuring vocalist Jinadu, taken from the peerless ‘Silent Stars album.

In addition to Volumes One and Two, there is also a third (digital only) volume containing a selection of Jimpster’s more downtempo gems for the more horizontal moments.
Jimpster has become a watchword in house music for a particular kind of Deep House depth, warmth and groove, a reliable source of utterly solid dance floor jams, his production schedule a conveyor belt of high-quality sonic bombs, loved by DJs and punters alike. Here’s to another quarter of a century of Jimpster's music.

Deetron’s debut EP for Running Back is an amalgam of some of the key virtues of both parties involved: the evocative and glorious power of the early days of rave (see cover art for further reference), emotional house, melodious techno, a beatless beauty and a firmly polished dance floor. Over the years, the Swiss producer has proven that his skill set and philosophy (underpinned by his mastery of the DJ trade) is perfect for such a mixture.
The EPs title track is the result of an extensive research in quiet storm soul records and their influence on traditional house music. „T-Symmetry“ and „TXT“ make extensive use of Roland’s classic JX-8P synthesizer with very different outcomes and the certainty that the idea trumps the tools. Euphoric UK breakbeat pianos and Detroit techno soul can be made with the same mind and machine as well as in any time or place. A record full of fun, finesse and fantasy. Deetron, we salute you!

Step Recordings is releasing another treasure, this time coming from Future Times' affiliates Jackson Ryland.

The US producer has been making quality music as a solo artist as well as in projects alongside Max D (as Superabundance) and as Rush Plus with Jus Nowhere. His latest solo EP 'Most Necessary' lands on Catz N' Dogz' quality focused Step Recordings, following releases from the likes of Baltra, Third Son, Ruff Stuff, MSM and more.

The 4 tracker is a collection of on point club focused weapons. The EP opens up with 'Vanilla Extract', a moody Techno track driven by a stomping 4/4 kick drum. Following is 'Spine Realign', a fast paced relentless dancefloor killer. The title track is another powerful gem, a straight Techno cut guided by inspired tribal percussion. Finally the EP ends with the broken-beat 'At This Pace', a mysterious tune permeated by spacey atmospheres!

'The idea of this compiled album/concept compilation is about one of those moments when you suddenly realise that you can't continue as you did before and there is no way back. I was in a 4am facebook chat with Reynier (Deniro) and we both thought Robert De Niro might have had a moment like that. Lost Palms welcomes Astro, Edinburgh-based purveyor of space age dance music, to the family with Into The Past EP - a high drama record which builds you into a state of tension and won't let you stop dancing.

The title track is a cavernous peak-time warehouse epic that tempts you deeper, leading into the muscular pulse of "Strange Object". This has real Basic Channel DNA, minimalist but driving. Another beefy dub techno pumper, "Calipso" stays close to the kick drum and showcases an infectious syncopated bassline.

Razor sharp scifi B1 "Spitzer" opens up into ear tickling reese bass and some classic Euro squelch; it leads in nicely to "Mars", a dramatic centrepiece to the EP begging to be let loose on a sunrise set. "Celestial" is the last track but the energy doesn't let up for a second, making use of another growling sawtooth bass patch and the hint of acid style pads.

The record feels like a trip into orbit and back - enthralling and clever, yet perfectly built for the dancefloor.

Runemark Records proudly presents twenty third release containing beautiful EP from Rafael Cerato & Ikarius featuring Liu Bei called “Distant Planets”. Release also holds two remixes from Mario Basanov and Phun Thomas.

Rafael Cerato’s collaboration with Ikarius and Liu Bei’s heavenly vocals makes it a perfect debut on Runemark. The original composition sounds tight and melodic, the sequenced bass gives Italo-Disco flavor, and the sweet vocals builds soulful atmosphere.
Mario Basanov’s vocal remix captures his unique Disco feeling and opens the B side of the vinyl. Beautifully crafted instrumentation and warm timbres mixes up with funky rhythmics creates an easy listening as well as groovy dance floor tune.

EP closes by Phun Thomas’ version of “Distant Planets”. A classic deep House sound driven by a Disco-flavored groovy bass and light percussion.

With SIAMESE020 we have come full circle. Shiffer, our good friend, Siamese family member and co-graphic designer with Adrian Schweizer since almost day one, has created his most personal release to date. This EP has been recorded during a challenging time in his life and reflects the journey through profound variations of human emotions. Remembering his very first production 'Drunk on Hope' on our initial Anthology release, we’re proud to see how Patrik's music evolved into such a genre-spanning array.

All in all a diverse, unique and very promising record that opens up a new chapter in Shiffer's musical path and leads him anywhere he wants to be.

German-Syrian band Shkoon will release their long-awaited debut album “Rima”, sending out a message of cultural diversity to the world. Shkoon’s concerts have attracted a diverse audience for many years, bringing together people of all religions, colors and backgrounds. For their album-tour through Germany and Switzerland, stops in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Zurich are planned.

Musically, the album is situated between influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, dub and hip-hop. The band members come from a variety of different musical backgrounds and have created their very own sound with a mix of influences between the Arabic and Western world. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals merge oriental melodies with western electronic beats, taking the listener on a journey that blurs the boundaries of cultures.

Shkoon is more than a German-Syrian live act with Arabic lyrics. In addition to their own lyrics, the band uses traditional musical folklore elements of the Arab community, which today appear more relevant than ever. The title song of the debut album is inspired by a story from Arabic folklore, in which a mother tells peaceful tales to her child as the world sinks into chaos. This song is accompanied by the singer and rapper Tareq Abu Kwaik, also known as "El Far3i", by the band
47Soul.

After the war in their home country drove the two Syrians to relocate to Germany, Ameen, Thorben and Maher met in the hanseatic city of Hamburg in 2015. During a spontaneous jam session, an unexpected energy and thus the project Shkoon emerged, which was soon followed by the release of the band’s very first EP a few months later.

During the first performances of Shkoon, a spark quickly jumped over to the audience, which soon allowed the group to play major festival stages all over Europe. Even as Shkoon’s musical expression knows no boundaries, it is not easy for the band to travel other countries, as Ameen (the vocalist) and Maher (the violinist) consistently face difficulties of getting visa documents due to their refugee status.

This is particularly lamented in Arab countries, where the band has long been celebrated as stars, for example when they played a sold-out show in Beirut for an audience of more than 3,000 people. But also in Europe, especially in Germany, there is immense enthusiasm in their fans-base is huge.

Two of the scene's hottest artists Weiss and Eli Brown drop a rave-inspired collab that further establishes them as prodigiously talented producers.

After breaking into the scene back in 2013, Weiss has risen to ever greater heights, with his releases inspiring support from the most respected names in the industry including Gorgon City, Eats Everything, Shadow Child, Hot Since 82 and Claude Vonstroke. His deep, jackin', Chicago-inspired tracks have also seen much success on label's like This Ain't Bristol, Toolroom and Dirtybird, and now makes his Kaluki debut alongside Eli Brown.

Having emerged from the shadows of Bristol's fabled drum and bass scene, Eli Brown has rapidly established himself as an artist of real distinction in the house world, with his singularly sinister, twisted records having made an immediate impact. Sie reagieren auf reale "Kpafuca" - "things falling apart" - Zustände afrikanischer Metropolen und kollabieren zu Grooves und Phrasen, die an Chris Marker´s Science-Fiction-Apokalyptik ( "La Jette"/ "Sans Soleil" ) erinnern. In dieser Polyphonie der Un-Orte schwingt auch der Geist reisender Klangabenteurer, zB. der musikethnologischen Praktiker Hartmut Geerken und Roman Bunka (Embryo), deren Visionen und Musik-Wirken sich gegen reduktionistische, essentialistische Inszenierungen sträubt. Gegen jene kulturellen Landkarten, die in die Musik immer wieder zwanghaft hineingezeichnet werden, setzt Friedman auf "Cease To Matter" im intuitiven Modus die befreiende Kraft des Rauschens, der Über-Mensch-Maschinen-Musik, der krummen Beats und des technischen Zufalls-Defekts, kurz: das "Un-gehör-sam" (Johannes Ismaiel-Wendt) gegenüber der normativen Deutungshoheit musikalischer Weltkarten.

Die Stimme des aus Texas stammenden in Berlin lebenden Performers und Vokalisten Daniel Dodd-Ellis wirkte bereits 2007 auf Burnt Friedman´s Album "First Night Forever" (non22). Die Lyrics stammen von beiden Autoren und wurden von Friedmann während der Produktionsvorgänge 2013 bis 2014 mehrfach zerlegt und neu zusammengesetzt. Die Zeile "Sky Is Blue Inside Of You" ist dem 1932 erschienenen Roman "Brave New World" von Aldous Huxley entnommen. Tracks 04 und 09 ("Cease To Matter") enthalten ein Piano Sample Edit basierend auf einer Komposition von Georges Invanovich Gurdjieff (1872-1949).

Marcel Vogel has cultivated a reputation for smooth, consistent and infectious Detroit-influenced dance music with attitude. The Amsterdam-based polymath blends live instrumentation and samples into groove-heavy beats, releasing across many popular labels while also running two of his own and touring across continents.

Having teamed up last year with Dutch producer and key-player Tim Jules for the raw single "Take Me Back", the two return with a fresh pressing on Shall Not Fade showing off their authentic soulful sound. Each track features a different vocalist, each bringing their own skill to the fore; in the title track, Alessandre's honey-sweet and porcelain-smooth vocal caress the playful keys for an instant earworm. "This is When I Leave" strips the sound right down until only the drum, like a heartbeat, and Khadija's wistful vocals remain, making for an intimate experience.

The B-side focuses on high-intensity instrumentals put together by Vogel and Jules: a breathless funk and rhythm workout begins in "Why Don't You Leave Me" with Hector Wijnbergen's infectious, powerful words taking centre stage. This headsy beat continues in "Like a Fish In The Water", LYMA's crooning subtly making an entrance and complemented by delicate guitar lines, building to a crescendo.

With SIAMESE020 we have come full circle. Shiffer, our good friend, Siamese family member and co-graphic designer with Adrian Schweizer since almost day one, has created his most personal release to date. This EP has been recorded during a challenging time in his life and reflects the journey through profound variations of human emotions. Remembering his very first production 'Drunk on Hope' on our initial Anthology release, we’re proud to see how Patrik's music evolved into such a genre-spanning array.

All in all a diverse, unique and very promising record that opens up a new chapter in Shiffer's musical path and leads him anywhere he wants to be.

Ukrainian duo Woo York have garnered worldwide acclaim for their ability to produce a powerful, driving, dark-yet-sophisticated sound, with their upcoming 'Chasing The Dream' LP set to drop on 4th May, serving as the first artist album on Afterlife.
The 13-track production entwines a wide ranging palette of Andrei & Denys (Woo York)'s ominous tones, taking the listener on a voyage through the various moods and rhythms of the Woo York odyssey.

SA005 is destined to become a vinyl collectors' must-have. Frank Martiniq explores a whole new sonic identity on this unique 12", forging together off-kilter beats and fists full of atmospheric compression. "Blast Corps" opens the EP with a surge of delayed baseline. Crispy static rises from below and echoes swoop and simmer beneath the full-blooded base. It builds insistently, the 4/4 structure is infused with far off blips and the dusty sizzles of low-pitched white noise. On "Dark Star" warm dub keeps the sound organic. It's elemental, the baseline seems enormous enough to have a gravity of its very own and the other elements pull together around its weight. It teases, the breathy elements twitch, fidget, become fully formed but refuse to drop.

SA003 sees label owner Lucy and underground trailblazer Ercolino, inspired by novelist Michael Ende's imagery, create two visions of a nihilistic future. The 12" begins with the tale of fear incarnate "Gmork", the most powerful weapon for controlling society. The A-side is a portrait of this terrifying beast: slinking baselines come from its black heartbeat and white noise grows from its unearthly appetites. Fat, squelching noises emerge as light, hope and ideas are quashed, ground up and eaten. What emerges is a genius slice of dark, brooding techno crafted from the nectar of your darkest nightmare. The story gets even bleaker with "So The Nothing Grows Stronger", a narrative of blips, bleeps and squeals. Dadub also masterfully extracts two crafty dj tools provided as digital bonuses. No excuse to not spread the savage stories that you have heard.

Burnski and Michael James ignited their Relic collaboration last year with a classy drop on oge, and they're back again on Constant Black with some devastatingly bumping minimal tech house. There's a hi-tech finish to this whole EP, from the moody lead cut "D" to the slippery, funkified "E". The mix is clean as a whistle and maximized for every little production wriggle and shapely bassline to cut through on any system, even in the hazier clouds of pad hovering over "F". Don't skip over the B2 though - as with all the best EPs there's gold to be savoured in the crafty machine shuffle and rubbery b-line of "G".

Romania’s Victor Stancov inaugurates his Simple Tracks imprint this
October with the ‘Apollo’ EP, backed with a remix from Wareika.

Victor Stancov is a producer and DJ hailing from the coastal region of
Constanta, Romania, a country that’s become synonymous with the
stripped-back twist in contemporary house Stancov delivers here via his new label simple:tracks. As the name would suggest, the label’s aim is to find pleasure and joy in the simple things, delivering dance floor focused cuts for groove seekers.

To launch simple:tracks Stancov himself steps up to deliver two
originals on the debut 12’’ and up first is titlecut ‘Apollo’, laid out
over six and a half minutes with an amalgamation of choppy chord
sequences, swinging percussion and subtly nuanced bass to create a
hypnotic introduction. The second original ‘Delos’ follows, retaining a
similarly ethereal aesthetic courtesy of snaking dubbed out synths,
winding pads and a bumpy bass hook. To round out the release Wareika deliver their interpretation of ‘Delos’, and as expected from the German minimal maestro’s the guys delivery a typically unique twist on things. Reshaping the originals synth elements while stirring in intricately modulating percussion and tripped out metallic synth chimes to complete the package.

One of TAU’s core family members and an artist who we discovered and nurtured from day one, Innellea returns to the label. Jos & Eli return for their second outing on Watergate with esteemed vocalist Alex Clare, as they follow up last year’s outstanding Mozar EP. The Israeli pair possess a distinct sound signature, crafting beautiful dancefloor creations, imbued with chunky percussion and sonic inflections from their homeland. ‘Mayhem’ EP sees them at their beguiling best. ‘Inner Sky’ is characterised by flowering synths that bloom and recede in giddying formations, backed up with a heady array of noises which buzz in the background, all the while a steady groove is maintained throughout. Afterlife wunderkind Stephan Jolk is recruited for remixing duties and brings swells of dreamy melody and subtle washes of Balearic to Jos & Eli’s original. With the guys from Wareika we picked another long time friend who allready played a couple of times for our club. Produced in a freaky, deep and super well deep minded way there come their track Propaganda. A journey into a style of music that you will never get bored!
Last but for sure not least is Micha Klang, the Master of our beloved Club Rakete in Nürnberg, who sent us a wonderful deep dub techno track that totally went inside our mind. Were happy to got this track to complete our new various artist.

As a young person growing up in West Yorkshire, my experiences of true underground clubbing became intertwined with names such as Back to Basics, 20/20 Vision and Carl Finlow. That period in the early 2000's became a life-affirming time for my young self.

Frequent trips to Back to Basics, then held at the Mint Club helped forge my outlook on electronic music and how it should be played in a club environment. I would often hear stories about ""the Farm"" and the late night parties and studio sessions. The anecdotes and tales of US icons recording in the countryside with the local guys provided only a small insight into the creativity and fun that must have gone on during those years. Cut to now in 2017, whilst looking back to those times more than fifteen years ago, I can proudly say that the dots have been joined and the connections now formally established.

I'm immensely proud to say that Carl Finlow, the understated king of British electro, and I, have put together a selection of his works that provides a themed snapshot into his musical history. The music I have chosen with Carl may not be all of his biggest tracks but it is the music that is special to me. The selection has a vibe, one that is deep and emotive, music for the head as well as the feet - Hope, you hear it in the same way (...)

“Jacopo Benassi plays Jacopo Benassi” is a performance where the photographer plays his body with radio-controlled microphones then samples them. At the same time, he takes photographs projected on a wall in real-time. The inner need to produce sounds not knowing how to play any instrument comes from the work realized in his former club, BTOMIC, where he met underground artists from all over the world. The album that comes from this work was created in collaboration with two great Berlin artists, Khan of Finland and Jochen Arbeit: the first worked on the performance mixing live the sound of my body, then both produced a remix. The work will be divided into two parts, A side and B side, with the original sound and the two remixes. The fanzine with photographs taken during the performance will be found inside the album.

Ever since he first stepped in the production game in 2013 with his self-released debut, Newcastle’s Junes has worked tirelessly on establishing an identifiable sound, exempt from ephemeral trends and bound to withstand the test of time. The Berlin-relocated Englishman now escapes from his home platforms Galdoors and Dote to land a round of his typically atypical dub blends and elegantly pared-down electronics on KOC.

A crisp, opium-scented bassy tech number in its own right, “Witching Hour” kicks things off to the sound of rattling darbukkahs, chirpy hats and thick volutes of Prince of Persia-extracted synths. A2 “Vessel” keeps the mystery intact with its curtains of randomly cascading chimes and bloopy signals gone astray.

Flip it over and let the title-track “Shifting Sands” work its stealth magic on you. Whereas the original takes us on a speleological ride across mineral chambers and bottomless spectrum depths where weird machine monsters and their warped cousins reside in relative tranquility, Aarhus-based producer and Help Rec. boss Central drops the hammer with a shuffling, oneiric reshape primed for an all-organic workout in the wild.

Renowned record label and events brand Renaissance announce the next release in their acclaimed The ReMix Collection - a scintillating reworking of Jaydee’s 1992 R&S classic ‘Plastic Dreams’ from one of the leading names in techno: Producer, DJ & MOOD Records label boss Nicole Moudaber.

Nicole Moudaber’s spectacular and atmospheric remix of ‘Plastic Dreams’ is already receiving strong DJ support, not least from Carl Cox, who has been playing it out as a highlight of his recent sets.

A track that Nicole Moudaber had always wanted to remix, when approaching such an iconic track as ‘Plastic Dreams’, she applied her trademark tough yet melodic sound, emphasising the jazzy bass notes and famous organ synthesiser refrain, to deliver a fresh and vibrant reworking.

On her remix, Nicole Moudaber said: “I didn’t want to lose the essence of this ground-breaking track. I kept the balance between house and techno and added a little touch of jazz. I was in New York when I first heard it; I was dancing, I was flying, I was connecting with people, I was making memories. I believe I gave it justice, I certainly gave it a lot of space and respect of its original identity.”

‘Plastic Dreams’ will be available as a Limited-Edition vinyl, produced to go toward part of a highly collectable and beautifully packaged 6 release box-set (6th release dropping at Christmas). The release features Nicole’s mix on the A-side, whilst the B features a remaster of the Original Long Version.

The ReMix Collection celebrates Renaissance’s proud heritage which has seen the brand at the forefront of electronic music since its inception in 1992. The concept behind the collection is to put a fresh and exciting take on seminal tracks that are closely connected with Renaissance’s early years.

Limited 200 copies / chrystal clear transparent vinylNot much information is available about Librah aside from the fact that the outfit hails from Sweden and that they released the critically acclaimed deep house twelve-inch '2BWU' on Parkwest in 2012, that brought the Deep House EP of the year for those true Loft heads and lucky clouds. 'Out of step", 'Timeless' music. Librah's follow up release on Yore Records is a sure sign of quality, however, and, true enough, My Love is 4ever is what every House Set needs. The perfect balance between deepness and punch. The release splits two Deep House tracks across its twelve-inch, transparent-coloured vinyl sides (limited to 200 copies), and supplements them with a digital-only bonus mix of the title cut. The material's mood is largely one of joy and uplift. The silky smooth title track quickly locks into its snappy house groove at the outset, and then pulls back the curtains to let the sunlight pour in. A bright theme imbues the skipping pulse with flavour, and the track rolls along for seven quietly jubilant minutes, its carefree spirit bolstered by a dreamlike vocal refrain and luscious synthesizer textures. Unspooling at a slightly slower BPM, the B-side's 'Gravity' opens with a sampled voiceover of grave character (When you live in a poor neighborhood, you're living in an area where you have to have poor schools / When you have poor schools, you have poor teachers...) before fixating on the tunes insistently swinging and hypnotic instrumental design. The digital mix of 'My Love is 4ever' packs a punch, too, especially when it pounds a bit harder than the original and sweetens the deal with a funky bass part and a twinkly keyboard riff.

Limited repress ! Motor City Drum Ensemble's DJ Kicks mix is the latest installation into the outstanding discography of Danilo Plessow, and is not to be missed. The addition of a selection of MCDE exclusive tracks, and the majority of tracks being rare pieces of music from Danilo's personal collection make this a mix of not only exceptional mixing capability.Danilo was always incredibly young with things. He started producing at the age of eleven—'way too early' as he jokes—having his first release out just five years later: Inverse Cinematics' 'Slow Swing', released on Pulver Records in 2002, and ended up finding its way into Ricardo Villalobos' record bag as well as onto one of the first Fabric mix CDs. An album under the same name and a string of EPs followed. Dailo's latest releases, the Motor City Drum Ensemble's Raw Cuts series in 2010, had the house music world responding strongly to the charmingly fresh and dirty sounding tracks, all mixed down in spontaneous two-hour sessions. Danilo has also released on top labels ranging from 20:20 Vision to Rush Hour as well as his own MCDE and Four Roses imprints, produced for Ben Westbeech and Rainer Trüby and never ceased to amaze with his challenging remix work for artists like Caribou, Jazzanova, DJ Sprinkles and Zero 7.

His understanding of how the parts of a track can work has never been more apparent than on his DJ-Kicks mix. In 10 years, playing 80+ gigs a year, including such temples as Berghain, Fabric London, Rex and MOS, he's absorbed dance history through hard and disciplined work behind the decks. Look at the opening selections of his DJ-Kicks mix to get a glimpse of his amazing ability to fuse totally disparate sound aesthetics into a coherent whole.

With the next months holding an extensive tour schedule for Danilo, dancers around the world will be able to experience his gift as a selector first hand.
