Our first V.A. "Gazillions", comprises of 4 new cuts by emerging producers from around the world that we have crossed paths with and are very excited to be releasing their excellent work.

"Lotus Turbo" by Formally Unknown - This Russian duo has been prolific in making creative yet functional tracks that we love and play often in our sets.

"Iridescent Lake" by CCL and Flora FM - We love the individual voices of Ceci and Taylor coming together in making this cohesive, intense, fresh sound.

"Beaman" By Papers - London based brothers Ed and Rob (they also run the labels Brothers and newly established Sisters) have been making loads of great stuff recently and we're happy to be including Beaman here.

"Jiro" By Silene - We met this wonderful Bristol based producer via Soundcloud, loved his work and felt like it was the perfect fit for us. We see a bright future ahead for him.

Dominik Eulberg's second EP on his label Apus apus features the track 'Roter Gitterling' (eng. Basket stinkhorn / Red cage) on the a side and - Tintenfischpilz' (engl. Octopus stinkhorn / Devil's fingers) on the flip side.

A. Roter Gitterling
The fleshy red cage of this kind of mushroom reminds of a merging of an upside down shopping string bag and an alien. Not allowing any objection, the track strides forward with determination towards a musical interpretation of this strange being. A fulminant kick drum counteracts in a very prosaic way the bitter-sweet pads. In a very narrative fashion the track gathers speed and flocks diverse soundscapes and disembogues in a break of harmonical expanse.
Conciliatory and in a hedonistic way the bass drum eventually stitches together what belongs to each other.
B. Tintenfischpilz
This bizarre looking extraterrestrial mushroom evokes at first glance the image of a dead octopus or radioactive vegetable.
As in a science fiction movie four to six tentacles sprout and raise out of a common stinkhorn and later spread into a star shape look. In an unparalleled manner this stunning progression is executed musically by Eulberg with a high degree of elaboration.
All done with elegant blend of continuous progression and permanent change the track wreathes itself towards heaven, whereas fragmented melody artifacts pour into the shape of a miraculous emergence.

The celestial drones of Eat Lights Become Lights version of 'Detour' open the album, setting the scene for an exploratory journey of personal interpretations.
'Shelter' takes on a new form thanks to German musician Christian L ffler while multi-genre producer Max Cooper uses emotional dance floor experimentation to take album opener 'Channel Deq' towards deep melodic territory.
And other unreleased remixes come from Stet, Colin Benders, Skanna, and, while 'Pontiac' is transformed beyond recognition by Matthew Dear (a.k.a Audion) into a warped techno freak out, Sasha also provides his own epic beatless remix

Renaissance return to their critically acclaimed ReMix Series on 27 December as Patrice Bäumel takes on Sunscreem’s legendary ‘Perfect Motion’.

Like many of the best records, Perfect Motion’s path to bonafide dance anthem wasn’t a simple one. Having begun life as part of Sunscreem’s live sets and in near unrecognisable form on their debut album ’03', it went down a convoluted path of various mixes; first ‘in-house’ with the band’s resident DJ’s Dave Valentine and Lee Metson and then, when selected as the follow-up to their first hit Love U More, by way of remixes courtesy of Leftfield, Carl Cox and, of course, Farley and Heller’s Boys Own Mix.

“Dave Valentine was a big admirer of Boys Own and wanted them onboard,” explains Sunscreem’s Paul, “we literally had to beg Sony to let them have a crack at it and, even then, weren’t overly impressed with the result. It was only after Pete Tong played it on Radio 1, describing it as ‘their best work ever’, that they changed their minds.”

The rest, as they say, is history. Although a dance chart number 1 and top 20 hit on release, its enduring appeal undoubtedly goes hand in hand with its inclusion on Sasha and John Digweed’s ‘Renaissance - The Mix Collection’. Vocalist Lucia picks-up the story, “The fact Perfect Motion was so different on our album was a key factor I think. The Mix Collection introduced the Boys Own mix to a wider, global audience in all its glory for the first time.” And an audience that proved to be, fast forward 3 years to 1997 and the now worldwide appeal of the track was fully realised when the band were booked to play legendary New York club Twilo. With thousands outside blocking the street and the club packed to the point they were forced to open the fire escapes, the promoter turned and said, “They’ve come to hear you play Perfect Motion!”

Now Patrice Bäumel seizes the enviable, though daunting challenge, of updating the track for 2019 (just). Not that he need have worried, if ever there was a hairs-on-the-back-of-your-neck dance anthem you need in your Christmas tune stocking, this is it. The mix captures all the emotive drama of the original, whilst subtly contemporising it with a stripped back, cleaner sound. “I actually requested Perfect Motion,” says Patrice, “the remix projects I am most interested in are the ones that allow me to cross genres and where at the same time I love the original material. Sunscreem’s Perfect Motion ticks both these boxes. I have been in love with the blissful vocals and pad section of this classic forever. The original has this lovely 90’s UK indie rave feel, similar to EMF’s Unbelievable. To me, those were formative years, I remember watching MTV all day, hoping for anything resembling electronic music to interrupt the endless stream of grunge and rock ballads. My reinterpretation aims to transport the original into modern times and make it suitable for today’s dancefloors. At the same time, I wanted to keep an element of nostalgia in there for those who have been around long enough to have fallen in love with Perfect Motion back in the day. The result is a record that I think has the potential to appeal to house and techno DJs alike.”

Amsterdam-based label Kalahari Oyster Cult proudly presents release #18. UK transplant and currently residing in the techno mecca Berlin, A Psychic Yes a.k.a. Timothy Crombie delivers his sophomore EP named “A Maze Dream EP”. The title track immediately mesmerizes with its abundantly organic beauty. There is a direction from this relatively new artist that is unique and special. Japan’s Sapphire Slows remix follows it up and brings the beat more to the forefront in a trippy journey that defies laws of gravity. Tribal is an understatement for this EP. More of being immersed in a kind of primitive sunken garden. “Forest Floor” starts off the second side with an alien language all its own while “The Skaters” absorbs you in a primordial rainforest groove. The sounds throughout this EP are natural, innate and anatomical. This is an essential release to have that blurs the lines between land, sea and space.

Frenchman Darlyn Vlys lands on TAU with the Doble Impacto EP, comprised of four brandnew tracks. Darlyn cooks up his productions in his Valencia studio, the Spanish city where he is currently based provides a wealth of inspiration, along with his deeply rooted passion for emotionally driven electronic music. His back catalogue includes a recent appearance on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant label and his music has been supported by some of the scene’s most respected DJs, including Ame and Dixon, Black Coffee, Maceo Plex and TAU’s head honchos, Adana Twins.

Rising/Falling marks multi faceted artist Daze Maxim aka Markus Manowki's second full length LP since 2000's Same Place The Bot Got Smashed. The album's title refers to the breathing exercises of meditation; something that by chance Daze begun at the same time as the LP's conception. This additional balance and clarity allowed the album to develop harmoniously, and paved the way for completion. There is also a nod to reflexivity as although this discipline provided necessary solace, it also demanded greater engagement. The overall aesthetic is unquestionably true to the minimal framework Daze has meticulously crafted over the past 15 years. A playground of intermittent tempo and hybrid organic electronica, harmony builds whilst dissonance prevails. There is maturity and guts in the selection and delivery of each part's piece in the puzzle, and a true viral beauty as it gains momentum. What is immediately striking about the album in full is its brooding space and progression. From ambient tones and warped classic synths, to rigorous live instrumentation, the sonic palette enriches as the odyssey continues. Much akin to a camera lens drifting in and out of focus, Daze toys with periodic collapse and elongated movements, but always pulls the listener back through percussive punctuation. The collaborations featured on the record occurred naturally, however the sessions played out differently. Sloth's unique trumpet work on the opener is a entirely improvised workout without specific key or time signatures. In contrast Yonatan, a classically trained jazz musician from Tel Aviv now residing in NYC, added bowed and fingered double bass to an already arranged work.

The EP starts with 'The Road to Transformation' - a groovy, well-structured track that will keep people rooted to the dance floor. The track exudes energy that will win any club over as it tirelessly engrains into the minds of clubbers with hypnotizing drums and a haunting vocal, this is a track that perfectly fits the Drumcode sound and ethos. On the flip side, 'Sonic Language' offers something a little different. Its fluid sound and effortless groove give this track a unique and interesting take on techno. The chord stabs give it a distinctive impression that helps to add funk to a bass loaded groove.

Following his beautiful ‘Detroit Sunrise’ EP on the label last year, the inimitable Sascha Dive returns to Bondage Music once again for another deep frequency encounter.

The safe word is bass as Sascha picks up where he left us with two ‘Dub Chronicles’ tracks on the previous release. Now comes the third; a lavish, unhurried exploration ‘Dub Chronicles 3’ lights the fire with hazy, hypnotic charm and a spoken word well known to those familiar with the foundations.

What follows is a trip that grows in intensity and emotions. ‘Cornerstone’ is a beautiful 11pm track; fleet of foot in the kick department and arms aloft in the vibe department. Total elevation. ‘Ancient Tribal Drums’, meanwhile, takes us much deeper into the night. That rolling conga line will tie you up just the way Bondage likes it while the dubby echoes provide sense-tingling relief… Before the finale takes us to even dreamier heights. Living up to its name, ‘It’s A Groove’ brings the elements of the whole EP together; the dubby hypnosis, the warm, driving beats and that unique sense that you’re not quite tied into any reality while Sascha plays. The chronicles continue…

Tomoki Tamura's Holic Trax label has long been renowned as a canny exporter of clued in house and techno. Their latest continues in this regard, as Tamura again calls on a series of renowned label friends to bring the heat. With names such as Mr.G, Satoshi Tommie and Tuccillo all appearing it here alongside Tamura himself, it's no surprise that this 3 x vinyl record, celebrating 5 years of the label, is filled with drama and high points throughout.
This is immediately obvious from Mr.G's "Soba Shioyaki". Titled in homage to the label's Japanese heritage, it's a dark and dexterous workout that marks another high point in a career filled with big records. Deep but tough, it's a perfect of why the tech house master is so revered in underground circles. G's "Komorebi" puts a tough emphasis on the drums, as well as a weaving, subtle baseline that adds a further dynamic to his work here.
HT24 comes from Satoshi Tommiie & Tuccillo, two producers whose sounds are perfectly suited to Holic's output. Their four-track contribution starts with "Do It", a spiky catchy number that's exciting from the off. "What Row" sees the boys inject some added funk into the equation, before "To Ray" ups the intensity with a raw, pulverising aesthetic that takes no prisoners. Wrapping up their side of the bargain is the digital only "You Know", a real bumper of a track with Chicago-inspired synth stabs that help bring it to higher planes.
It's the left to Tamura himself to close the offering via HT25. A1, the appropriately named "5ive Years' is a techno workout of the type that's notable for its off-kilter motifs and a stubborn, industrial feel. Unforgiving and full of atmosphere, it's the sign of a producer who clearly knows his way around he mixing deck. "Polyphonic Six" displays the producer's more introspective sound thanks to a melancholic perspective that's hard not to embrace. All things told, this is a wonderfully diverse package from Tamura & co. Here's to the next 5!

Pétrole are back with a new « club music » oriented project on wax featuring 2 French producers : Yann Polewka & Da Growch. They first met each other at Dimensions Festival in Croatia, they keep in touch after that and finally decided to produce an EP together. Seduced by this story and convinced that house music knows no borders, Pétrole label has decided to make « Common Dimension » its 9th release.

A blossoming creative relationship has been bubbling between young talent CERPINTXT and Stevie R ever since she appeared on his label Inside Out in late 2017.
Kindred spirits with a shared appreciation for the leftfield fringes,
experimentation and deep dark grooves, here they continue their collaborative work on Chapter 24 with the first release from Stevie R's forthcoming album. A new chapter beckons...

'Madilo' ignites the fire, a bright, relentless house affair laced with a dreamy vocal chop and an underslung bassline that bites beneath the surface like a shoal of piranhas. Twisted but restrained and peppered with infectious percussion, it sets the
scene for the Greco-Egyptian collaboration in London perfectly. 'Red Lemon' is a much darker jam that's built around a granular staccato riff that changes in texture and weight as more loopy layers are introduced. The word hypnotic is bandied
around too much these days, but this truly is a mesmerising moment.

Meanwhile in the parallel universe of remixes, Chapter 24 have gone to town, recruiting two significant and influential heavyweights on the revision duties.
Counterchange bossman Ed Davenport returns from his Inland guise for a thumping twist of 'Red Lemon' that's equal parts pneumatic and aquatic, while Man Power breaks down the original groove to its bare-naked acid line and rebuilds it with a
crushing analog hook, off-beat timpani and a host of subtle trippy textures.

Two exceptional originals, two respectful, innovative remixes, one massive album to look forward to. Stevie R is just warming up.

Four multi-purpose, innovative tracks from the Assemble Music family. Mike Shannon takes the pace right down on 'Pimp Limp' to stunning effect, weaving together tweaked pads and a deep, tripping bass with the tightest of drum sounds, developing an irresistible, effortless groove. Aloe Varu (aka Dan Andrei) takes the shuffle up a notch on 'Shifty', evoking classic Herbert with cut-up jazz samples and bumping, stop-start percussion. Chicago's Jamal Moss moves further up his mysterious path tow- ards unknown planets with new punchy tracks for Cejero. Using his The Sun God moniker Moss has once again set out to hypno- tize dancers and make listeners jack.
The A-side was recorded in Copenhagen, November 2014, while the B-side is a studio recording done back in Chicago.

Some pirated copies circulated illegally, but this is the definitive version...tried and tested in the last few months and always ending to be the tune of the night, 'Marvinello' is the result of the collaboration between Michel Cleis and Klement Bonelli.
Born and raised in the Italian part of Switzerland, Michel Cleis needs no introduction, having released music on labels like Cadenza, Pampa, Rekids, Supplement Facts, Aus, Defected and Ovum to name a few.

His eclectic and diverse taste has lead him to collaborate with Klement Bonelli. Born and raised in France with a deep-rooted history in Art & Electronic Music, Klement started his career in 2002 with a release on the legendary US label Basement Boys, and then launched his own imprint Krome Records.
The result of their collaboration is a monster EP. 'Marvinello' is an infectious rework of Marvin Gaye's classic: The drum pattern, the percussions and the bassline are irresistible and the use of the vocals create a unique atmosphere. The balance is something so hot you can't resist ! The B Side track 'Gostek' is a heavenly mixture of house, soul, and gospel, underpinned by a percussive driving techno groove that takes you by the throat to the dancefloor.

The unstoppable force that is Raumakustik are back on the label with yet more top drawer tech flavoured beats.The German tech wizards draft in the incredible Terry Lynn on vocals for lead track 'Dog Eat Cat Eat Mouse' and the result is pure fire. Her unmistakable tones laid over that raucous and underground tech house groove make for a sure-fire hit for the impending Summer Months. This will set alight the sun-drenched terraces as much as those darker, more underground floors therefore making it a perfect Toolroom release.Next up is 'Logic'; a healthy dose of bump and chunk this one nods its head to the underground as it does equally to the accessible dance floors in true Toolroom style. When you pair this track up with the unmistakable vocals, having received the nod of approval from the dance music titans themselves - Daft Punk - it's no wonder this one went down a storm in 2016's Ibiza season. Last up is 'Activate' which featured on this year's Toolroom BPM Sampler featuring hypnotic, rolling grooves that were played out across the festival and
beyond across dance floors around the globe.

Damiano Von Erckert’s ‘Replica Material’ EP is his debut for Aus and feels long overdue. A three tracker that touches on the deeper strain of his production palette, his knack for appreciating those vintage grooves whilst adding a sprinkle of his own flavour is what gives ‘Replica Material’ that unique character. It’s that approach to tracks which has caught the attention of stalwarts, Move D + Ata. Damiano, David + Ata all share a love of Offenbach institution Robert Johnson, infact the ‘Replica Material’ masters were even tested and approved on the club's legendary system. We left Herva & Dukwa with a bunch of bangers with their latest Ep "It Fell Down"... we found em back only after few months with their first Life's Track longer player featuring an

impressive variety of styles but always with their unmissable, raw and twisted up touch. This album of 8 tracks, spread in one twelve and a seven inches, starts on A side with the

funky break of "Needed", continuing with the deep driving moment of "Amore" and the hip hop beat of "Put It On". On the flip side instead we find the catchy vocal riff of the stomping roller called "Freak With Us" followed by the soulful ghetto tech vibe of 'Call It You' and the melancholic, romantic, stoned and rotten lullaby of "Tired Brass". More tasty and unusual grooves are included in the tiny wax which close the record up, on a side the peaceful, abstract, suspended and atmospheric dimensions of 'Play With Me' and on the other the glow-fi-sh and "emo"-tech wave of "Venere". Minimono finally strikes back on Bosconi records since 4 years from their last hot album"Runaway". This four tracker vinyl named "Gang Of Fools" represents the perfectcontinuation of their trademark sound aesthetic dense of funk, warm vibes and west coast house attitude: the record starts on A side with that unmistakable "shake-yo-booty" disco riff of the "Gang Of Fools" track which follows the deeper and keep on going groove of " The Rapid Fall" on the second cut. Population One, also known as Terrence Dixon, offered a first remix of his mysterious, minimal Detroit track 'Rush Hour' for the celebration of the label's 10th anniversary and now blesses us with new takes on five 'Hippnotic Culture' album tracks. The impressive 'Hippnotic Culture' LP was originally released in 1995 on the long defunct Utensil label, which was run by Claude Young.

Stump Valley now pop up on Dekmantel. The committed Berlin based studio outfit head into new areas after their previous work on Uzuri, Off Minor, Dopeness Galore and No 'Label (that already had them jumping around styles and influences).

The label say "Stylistic, enigmatic, and effortless. Stump Valley’s Dekmantel debut EP is a smooth melange of glossy soul, jazz, and serene house. Produced by the mysterious, and ultimately under-the-radar duo, the extended EP breezes through tropes of balearic analogue, warm Chicago sounds, yet remaining ultimately Italian.

The duo, originally from Turin, prove their skills as true alchemists, as their forge hypnotic house and tropical flare through their array of drum machines, synths, and informed artistry derived from their deep stockpile of assorted records.

Debuting they may be, but the Italian duo are no strangers to Dekmantel, having played at Dekmantel Festival, Selectors, and Lente Kabinet. Having released groove tracks across a whole spectrum of labels, Stump Valley’s reputation even precedes them. Throughout the EP, their sound echoes that of Prins Thomas, Larry Heard, and other select funk-driven Italian live producers that are making waves in the current scene. It’s a sound that’s permanently upbeat, radiant, and filled with joy.

Berlin based vocalist and Max Graef collaborator Wayne Snow collaborates on vocal opener 'Natural Race', creating a slow groove, and funk-driven tempo. The music then veers into equatorial territory, as the duos' uses of classic 707 and LinnDrum sounds evoke a sense of sunset grooves; the sound of Theo Parrish slowly winding through an Adriatic cocktail party. Further on and 'Proletarians In Space' reflects the producers' more Detroit-like influences, with oscillating machine music. 'Zoo Planet X' takes the sound further, with dubby pads, and old-school kicks and hats, that transport the Turin-based artists across the Atlantic with their out-of-time sonic aesthetic."

My Little Dog reaches its release number 100 from the hands of the legendary German artist Sascha Dive.

The first cut of the ep is the title track "I Came to Jack", where Sascha’s music is accompanied by the vocals of one of the most representative figures in the United States scene: Robert Owens.

“I Came to Jack” is a superb Chicago house track, where the bass line blends in an incredible way with the synths, giving rise to one of those timeless songs so characteristic of Sascha. The remix is carried out by Oscar Barila (My little Dog co-owner) who teams up with the Chilean Santiago Deep to give the track a more groovy character. They skillfully use the main parts of the original song, turning it into a groove roller coaster that never stops growing and growing.

If we turn the vinyl, we find “Steve the Robot” where Sascha shows off his incredible versatility by presenting us a more metallic and hard cut, with maximum quality for those peak times moments of your sets. On remix duties, Sergio Parrado (My Little Dog co-owner) pairs with the talented Colombian artist Julian Millan to delight us with a much more melodic and hypnotic cut. It’s the perfect icing on the cake for this 100th release.

Rising Colombian house producer Amel Amaru makes his vinyl debut on Back Door Records with a solid and fresh four-track EP, including a Dsum remix. From Bogota and influenced by the old school sound of the dance music he is releasing these three brisk tempo but chasmic cuts loaded in a compact groove and travel over subtle melodies. Sharp Tea sets the mood of the release combining hunky drums & unfaded pads to maximum effect, while the second cut ramps up the emotion without sacrificing any intensity and adding the jazzy touch with a crunchy Rhodes melody. Flipping side, Cid The Champion brisk with a fat kick and intense bass line kneading the groove, also remixed by Back Door’s head Dsum.

The powerful duo of Audiojack enter 2019 with a bang, returning to Crosstown Rebels once again. Delivering two distinct dancefloor tracks, their Inside My Head 12” is set to make an impact across the globe.

Title track Inside My Head is a deep and spellbinding production, woozy and enthralling with a pulsating beat and catchy vocal hook. On the flip, Behind The Curtain is a darker, more industrial affair with a gritty drum section and an enticing groove.

Audiojack began life over a decade ago on Ralph Lawson’s seminal imprint 20/20 Vision. Since then Underworld, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 are among the artists who have enlisted them for remix duties. They began their own highly regarded imprint, Gruuv, more than eight years ago and the label has charted releases from artists including Emanuel Satie, David Mayer, Marc Romboy, Stimming and Joyce Muniz. The duo’s energetic DJ sets have seen them play in hundreds of cities in over sixty countries and they’ve also been nominated in the DJ Mag Best Of British Awards as well as recording a coveted Radio 1 Essential Mix.

What else is there to do but lean into this propulsion? The ( - ) side, BOYS NOIZE "IU" featuring dark RnB innovator CORBIN, is moody but aggressive, with cavernous kicks pummeling under hi-tec breaks and hoovers at an overclocked, redlined tempo. This rocketing energy turns CORBIN's haunting looped vocals into a battle cry rather than a dirge, making "IU" the release to "RIDE OR DIE's" reflection. Both tracks share a frenetic tempo, boldly declaring that the energy of club culture will not falter, even when facing the myriad pressures of a world in distress.



The “RIDE OR DIE” video was loosely inspired by The Trolley Problem Experiment, modeled and animated in 3D and hand-painted over each frame, resulting in a serene and phantasmagoric world, a vast and unknowable dreamscape in which all potential selves coexist. Directors ART CAMP considered difficult choices and unknown outcomes one faces in life. “There is no fork in the road,” they say. “Instead, there are endless paths, and you can go down all of them. The video invites you into those parts of yourself that you haven’t yet seen, to find powers you didn’t realize you have.”. With a career defined by blazing a singular trail instead of taking those well traveled, BOYS NOIZE pushes on, lighting the way through every challenge ahead.

Tha House" a.k.a. Silverlining, a.k.a. Asad Rizvi.

For nearly 25 years Asad has been committing his singular, shuffle-heavy brand of house music to wax, and he simply refuses to go out of style; any self-respecting DJ who manages to snag a copy of one of his many twelve-inches will not easily let it go. But you gotta find one first. To help you with that we’ve gathered three tracks originally released in 1996 on Asad’s own Reverberations label, remastered and recut from the original DAT tapes for maximum dance floor pleasure.

This re-released the first track of The Micronauts, "Get Funky Get Down", accompanied by his remix by Daft Punk (The first they ever did!). Both were originally released in 1995 on the London label Phono (which Also discovered Matthew Herbert, Morgan Geist and Freaks aka Luke Solomon & Justin Harris ...). Never before reissued, the original version makes a comeback noted for two years in the playlists of the diggers of London, Berlin or Brussels ... Notably those of Jamie Fry, English DJ living in Berlin, who realized for the occasion the "J Dubs Edit ", in line with the sound of his 100% vinyl sets (Jamie is the producer of the famous Stablo series, which Can reach 100 € on Discogs, and co-directs with Radio Slave the label The Double R). In conclusion of this EP is the "Nature's 1994 Cassette Version", totally unpublished and recovered as its name On a tape recorded in 1994.

(25th Anniversary Edition) Originally released on F Communications 1997. Laurent Collat is not a newcomer to the French electronic scene. It was in 1988, with the discovery of New Order, that the desire to compose his own songs arose. His techno-pop compositions drift gently towards a house and techno sound, with the arrival of the baggy movement from Manchester and the acid-house wave.

Spencer Parker returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘The Theme’ EP, the DJ/Producer’s most distinctive single to date.

Comprising three originals and a remix from Pink Concrete, ‘The Theme’ EP sees the Berlin-based Brit known for blending house, disco and techno delve further into his ‘80s new wave influences hinted at in his recent ‘The Love And Sex’ EP for HE.SHE.THEY.

First track ‘Theme’ is Parker at his most musical. With simple piano licks, digital strings and soaring choral swells, this is an anthemic piece that oozes class. ‘Radio Waves (After Dark)’ sees staccato synth leads play off a pulsing bass while the titular vocal sample and aesthetic recall some of Parker’s work under his lauded It’s Not Over pseudonym. Closing the originals is the arpeggio driven ‘The Work Out’, an undulating late-night cut displaying Parker’s penchant for high energy arrangements.

It's with great pleasure that we announce the return of New York's synth wizard Steve Moore to KOMPAKT - pretty much exactly 10 years after his much lauded first appearance 'Bayern Kurve' on our SPEICHER series.

Steve Moore is widely recognized as one half of Italo Disco-tinged horror-prog project ZOMBI, his numerous thriller movie soundtrack works (The Guest, VFW, Mayhem, Bliss, The Mind's Eye) as well has his clubbier output on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. imprint.

The title track of this 4 track EP, "Frame Dragging" sees Moore in full spine tingling mode. In case you've ever stepped into a hot bath on a cold day (in case you haven't you should try it) you should be well familiar with the phenomenon of being incredibly cold and hot at once. That's exactly what 'Frame Digging' does to the dance floor. Goosebump massacre.

"Gamma Quadrant" combines emotive balearic elements with a rolling minimal house track that reminds us of early Playhouse glory. Or is it early Kompakt?

'Gravity Well' and 'Protostar' are both taking a more chilled out route. They perfectly bookend both sides of the record and showcase Moore's stunning ability of creating suspenseful, spaced out beauty.

While our World has stopped, the music flow must continue to represent an anchor for all of us. Heiko Laux's stimulating approach to electronic music showcases his ability to flutter between genres with various aliases, projects and sounds. With no interest in remaking albums or dwelling on the past, Heiko is constantly moving forward, finding new inspiration.
Joel Mull is a techno DJ and producer from Sweden who has released on labels such as Drumcode, Truesoul, Audiomatique, Saved, Cocoon, Kanzleramt and Music Man. A product of the small but highly productive scene that has grown up in Stockholm, it comes as no surprise that Joel's discography is heavy on associations with other key players in the creation of the distinctive Swedish techno sound such as Adam Beyer, Jesper Dahlback and Cari Lekebusch. Mull's sound is a living force; steeped in techno history but with both eyes firmly fixed on the future. Laux and Mull's make their debut to Drumcode Limited with a heavy, two track release. The tracks come packed with erratic percussion, deep kick drums and tantalising crescendos. Laden with interesting samples, futuristic sounds and high hats a plenty - these high intensity tracks keep the energy levels soaring throughout. The release demonstrates the duo's diversity as producers and ability to create tight, unique techno tracks.

What began as a challenge to fight creative stagnation, soon grew into a fully-fledged audio-visual project for Belgian DJ, producer and live artist, Biesmans. Setting himself the goal of making three tracks per week for a month, he re-scored ‘80s pop culture moments – including films, TV shows and games, resulting in a brilliant 12-track work encompassing new wave, indie, dark wave, electro and
disco.
Moving his modular-heavy studio to Berlin in 2014, the ensuring years saw Joris Biesmans drop heat on Correspondent, Disco Halal, AEON, 17 Steps and Future Disco. He’s been a core member of Watergate
family since his arrival in the capital, working as the club’s sound technician. He made his debut on Watergate Records in 2020 with the well-received ‘Electric Love’ EP.
The ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ album took shape in April last year as the lockdown was starting to take grip and Biesmans needed a positive distraction. Ensconced in the music of his childhood and ‘80s
pop cultural fodder, he locked himself in his studio and set about creating, later digging through archival footage to match the music. Biesmans, who previously undertook work scoring films, was so absorbed by the process, he’d sometimes do it in reverse; allowing the vintage media be the guide. Throughout the period, the clips were shared each Monday, Wednesday and Friday on his Instagram, building up a firm following from fans, friends and colleagues. And thus, the project found its wings, developing into an album.
Throughout the dozen tracks, highlights are plentiful; from the neon ambience of the Kraftwerk-inspired ‘ ‘Cosmic Cruise’, which later accompanied a smoky scene between Tom Cruise and Rebecca de Mornay in ‘Risky Business’; the sun-soaked, retro-pop title track, which became the album’s first single, and was paired with a jubilant dance scene from the Breakfast Club; ‘Cold Void’, the album’s second single, which saw Biesmans link up with fellow Belgians Boi Wonder and Tom the Bomb for a dark wave creation built around a heavy guitar solo and set against a backdrop of Blade Runner clips; and the silky electro funk of ‘Another World’ that soundtracks scenes from Miami Vice.
Biesmans explains about ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’: “I started this as a lockdown challenge, in which I would make three tracks per week for a month, alongside providing videos where I re-scored
footage of 80s pop culture moments. Inspired by the movie of the same name, I picked the title because it ties to the theme of ‘mobility’. Our society is based upon being mobile and when Corona hit us, we
could taste a bit of being immobile. As an artist that meant, I could focus on making music 100%. No distractions, no weekend gigs, no parties just making music. This new lifestyle resulted in my first album.
A journey into the past but looking forward to the future, experimenting with other genres and techniques to make a real album that goes beyond club music.”
