A producer, DJ, NTS radio host and label head, Finn has come of age representing Manchester's underground dance music scene over the last four years. Showing up with a timely debut for Defected that will stop you in your tracks, he's now turning heads way further afield from the North West. Following a digital release, this 7' features an exclusive instrumental. The formula for 'Sometimes The Going Gets A Little Tough' is beautifully simple, exposing an intuition beyond the producer's years. At 135bpm it's a straight pumper in theory, playing directly into the hands of festival sets over the summer; with its vocal loop and heartfelt lyrics it becomes so much more. Gathering over 2m Spotify streams on its initial release via Tom Lea's London imprint Local Action, the track also received radio support from the likes of Annie Mac, Skream and Monki and support from DJs as diverse as TQD, Diplo and Martin Garrix. The appeal is universal and the execution is perfect, making this the kind of life affirming record that 2018 needs.

Gebrüder Teichmann's third album, - Lost on Earth , merges transcultural collaborations and electronic music between 90 and 130bpm. The album was recorded in a multitude of cities and countries including Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Nigeria, Kenya & Germany and features guest artists Abe Duque (NYC), Mc Psychotek (Bulawayo), Wura Samba (Lagos), Santiago Rodrigues & Signal Deluxe (Mexico City), Sasha Perera (Berlin), Max Turner (Noland) or the Kibera based art collective Masai Mbili. Crafted by jams and recording sessions round the globe, Lost On Earth captures the essence of a rough, pure and direct mix highlighting club, hip-hop, African influenced and deep tracks.

Brothers Andi & Hannes Teichmann, aka Gebrüder Teichmann, are electronic musicians, DJs and cultural activists, rooted in Berlin's techno underground and DIY-culture since the late nineties. The duo have performed at Berlin's premiere clubs including Berghain/Panorama Bar, WMF, Watergate, Bar25 and have hosted regular nights at Suicide Circus Berlin since 2009.
Over the years the brothers have collaborated with numerous artists across a variety of genres. Collaborations have included hip hop, contemporary, traditional and experimental music with collaborators including Ensemble Modern, Decoder Ensemble, Embryo, Joachim Irmler & Gudrun Gut, Foremost Poets, rRoxymore, Teknotika, Jahcoozi & Modeselektor or their father, multi-instrumentalist Ulrich Teichmann.
Andi and Hannes have put together several projects in cooperation with the Goethe-Institute, like TEN- CITIES, BLNRB & SOUNDCAMPs in Sri Lanka, Pakistan & Mexico, and established the intercultural electro ensembles KARACHI FILES (Pakistan/Europe), BLNRB (Nairobi/Berlin) & MONDMASCHINE (Mexican/Central America/Europe). With their label NOLAND they are compressing this diversity.
Their musical activities from DJing, giving workshops and playing live sets have taken them to over 60 countries as far as Afghanistan, Honduras, Sibiria or Angola.
Home in Berlin they've been curating several festivals, such as the - From Inside To Way Out at HAU Hebbel Am Ufer, the African Music Convention 2014 or parts of the WORLDTRONIC Festival at Haus der Kulturen der Welt.

Renato Ratier is one of the most important names in Brazilian and South American electronic scene not only as the creator of the d-edge club and partner of Warung club, two of the world's leading electronic music clubs. As a producer and citizen of the world, this time the artist found inspiration in the middle of the Atacama desert in Chile during a trip to a gig in that country. Definitely, the vibe and atmosphere of this unique place, suggested to Ratier a track full of personality as well as his work as a producer. While working on his new album, Ratier offers us a precious and pulsating track, with a striking square bassline and a hypnotic line of chords and synths. To complete this special package, Ratier invited two of the most important djs and Brazilian producers to bring their remixes.Ney Faustini and A.84 with their brilliant jobs.

On the A side we jump straight into Ryan Berkeley’s “Round The Ride”, a slab of club ready house music. A fantastic, earworm of a vocal is laid over a hypnotic groove that builds and builds until it all combines in a full-blown, hands-in-the-air, 3 am weapon. Norachi’s “Ffffred” takes a different approach. A woozy concoction that is reminiscent of 90’s tech house. It combines a kaleidoscopic array of elements that all whirl around each other to create a great afterhours trip. On the B-Side is DJ Heure’s “HUH”, an infectious cut of boom-bap influenced breakbeat house. Some gorgeous chords, set over a jumbling, throwback rhythmic groove. Think Andres meets Regelbau. And the final track is Dawn Again’s “Wuthering Heights”, a warm, fuzzy, chuggy deep house jam. An undeniably pumping bassline set amidst a bunch of jazzy chords and whispering, seductive vocals.

For the 15 years of Terminal M festivities it was a sure step to also get back into our catalogue and obviously listened to the older releases again. And it quickly came to our mind that Monika Kruses @ Voodooamt's classic 'Passengers' album from 2003 still is a true gem. So we reworked and remastered the whole album and asked close friends to select a track they wanted to remix. Oliver Huntemann, Alberto Ruiz and Skober immediately agreed and surprised us with their great new interpretations.

Since Stefano Noferini's debut release on Monika Kruse's label Terminal M Records in the beginning of 2015 he released some more of his hi quality clubtunes on his own label Deeperfect, Toolroom Trax and Stereo Productions. For these three new tracks he teamed up with Metodi Hristov from Sofia, Bulgaria's capital who's releases and remixes on Rejected, Time Has Changed and Noir Music were always sure chart toppers. Romain Poncet aka TRAUMER delivers 3 different killer tracks where the first one 'Sofa' is very deep techno, beautiful, but also dance floor friendly. On the second side we have 2 rough techno bombs with 'Oscla' a killer combination of pure Detroit banging techno and a sound who can perfectly fit to the Berghain peak time. 'Astra' is a rather industrial track with a break kick and a mix of Detroit chords and pads who make you dance and fly very very far . Jamie Clarke is a producer, musician and DJ. His label Either// hosts his recent work. Its first release, ‘Mirror Talk’, features remixes by Pablo Mateo, Casanova, and Philippa with early support from Tensnake, Ame, Piem, Joyce Muniz, Alinka, DJ T, Acid Pauli, Gene Farris bc, Severino… You can find earlier work appearing on diverse labels of favoured artists. “The Gene Krupa of electronic music” an admirer commented of his style: rolling, syncopated, digressive but ultimately melodic. Now, late 80s, a dark Detroit basement, eyes shut, the pound and sweep of that sound - you’re there.

Residencies at home in Dublin include The Pod, Hospital and his own UP!, the renowned rooftop party. He regularly guests across the continent and has projects in development in the US. In recent years the Reykjavik music scene has been a second home where Kaffebarrinn is a favourite haunt.

Renowned Italian DJ & producer Luca Guerrieri delivers his debut long player ‘It Never Ends’ The 15 track album crosses a multitude of electronic genres pulling in inspiration from over 25 years of experience within the industry. With a mixture of unreleased music added to 6 of his standout tracks the album stands as testament to the Italian’s expansive career, culminating in this rich body of work.

Guerrieri has already seen past releases like ‘Harmony’ gain huge support along the way by the likes of Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show et al, so this body of work comes with an existing and reputable catalogue of past work.

The LP itself includes standout tracks like ‘Tears’ and ‘Colony’ the variation across multiple genres testament to the Italian’s versatility.

The fascinating ‘Synthesis’ draws progressive electro laden synth inspo from electronic heavyweights Daft Punk, alongside the likes of ‘Colony’, ‘Mellowtronic’, ‘Beltempo’ and the excellent ‘Eleven’

Techier cuts like ‘Involved’ take a more main room trajectory showing the length and breadth of the musical output on this record. ‘Go Back’ a shining example of uplifting and grooving classic house. A euphoric piano cut, laden with dramatic strings and expertly crafted crescendos, this is a summer time peak player!

Other highlights include ‘Destino’ and ‘Neptune’. An expansive, progressive synth masterpiece built for the big stages. Nestled right next to that is ‘Holding Me’ a progressive trance inspired release, another single that pulls on the euphoric heart strings with a simple enchanting vox sample layered over arpeggiated goodness.

Guerrieri brings the record to a close with lead track ‘It Never Ends’ if any track from the LP was undoubtedly inspired by the iconic robotic duo then this is it. Another hugely infectious summer cut, packed with punk!

A body of work that has taken 25+ years to compile, ‘It Never Ends’ is a timely reminder that away from the mainstream of major labels there’s an ample showcasing of amazing work waiting patiently to be unveiled.

It is one year ago that Mathias Kaden presented a very personal journey to his musical roots in the shape of an album called Energetic'. Equally as long he has been out in the world as a live act - with some large analogous luggage and the same joy of performing with which he had won many hearts as a DJ on the dancefloor beforehand. After the first batch of remixes (among others by Michael Mayer and Redshape) there are now following further revisions of three of the album's tracks.
A1. Soulmakers feat. Zoe Xenia (Deetron Remix)
The deepness institution from Bern named Deetron are particularly fond of the analogous and sublimely swinging synth bassline of Soulmakers'. However, he modulates it into a wild, joyfully soaring sound artefact. Combined with a few more BPM, the original strings and Zoe Xenia's ode to the initial house music vibe a track is created which firstly heralds the start of peak time and shortly after ignites the entire dancefloor.
A2. Soulmakers feat. Zoe Xenia (Pulshar Remix)
Finally, Soulmakers and Spain again. The duo Pulshar drapes its remix in a warm dub blanket with many delays, soft strings and smoothly bouncing bass drums. The perfect conclusion to this second part of Energetic' remixes.
B1. Tangerine (Uner Remix)
The Spaniard Uner attends to the energetic, playful Tangerine and creates a powerfully vibrant house music track with
a dark techno tendency. Only towards the end some sunlight flares up briefly and distantly.
B2. Wisdoms (Daniel Stefanik Remix)
The remix of Wisdoms' is a special matter of the heart - since Mathias Kaden's brother in grime' Daniel Stefanik draws
the piano house anthem into a furious Detroit techno vortex of spherical and ghostly slithering sounds of the original.
The timing is perfect: both of them are on a jubilee tour for they've been performing rocketing DJ sets together as Ste-
fanikaden since ten years.

Next up from London imprint Nuances de Nuit comes another four track V/A which further solidifies the label’s sound and vision; spaced out soundscapes and music with personality.

Their slogan ‘Pour Les Danseurs’ (for the dancers) could not be more apt, with four more cool cuts that are carefully engineered to be played right the way through parties of all sizes.

Kicking things off is Mehlor and Le Louche’s Chromium, a slick fusion of cut up breaks, modulated synths and a fuckton of groove. Next up is the ‘Ode To Joy Instrumental’ mix of More Pumpin by Thyone Girls - A peak-time dance floor raiser. On the flip we have Local Dub, whom having garnered recent support from the likes of Gene On Earth follow on from a stand out EP on iO Mulen’s Hoarder with their contribution, Moon Dog. Rounding off is the return of Karaba to the label, dishing out a large helping of quirky house music with some intelligently executed synth work.

A power Split release straight up into our vinyl catalogue. First we've got two original Prodot tunes, a majestic producer from Cordoba Argentina with releases on Re.Face and Blind Vision, Prodot delivers concrete sequences of beats and lows, perfect for extreme club situations.

On the Other Side from France "Only Slave Nation" part of Def Raw Music Concept group (DRMC) and releases on HighPath and signatune, sending us the closure for this record, a couple of deep sounding tracks that resemble France popular way of music making.

It's a huge pleasure for Nick Curly & Gorge to welcome longtime friends Audiojack to their label. In fact a dream came true as for a long time discussions took place to find a way to release a single from their favorite british house duo. Now they are here.

Refreshingly new oldskool techno tracks by Bornek Nowec, a project by a Rotterdam based dj/producer known for his long tied connections with the local techno scene. London-born producer Colin Lindo aka Nubian Mindz is not your average predictable artist. You know his stuff's gonna be good, but there's a solid chance you'll be surprised with a thing or two in every track. Similar approach applies here. Generally speaking, the music is deep and rich, yet very direct and club ready, but with plenty of those unpredictable moments which made us go crazy for these tracks in the first place. A1 - "Aqua Lifeforms" is perhaps the least intense cut on the record, a sort of a slow grower which builds up momentum by layering sounds and pads. A2 - "Body Mover" is exactly what the title tells you. Crunchy peak time tune for the dance floor, with shuffling broken beats wrapping around deep chords that hint what's happening on the flip side. B1 - "Doorway To Her" is a nod to the classic deep techno chord-ish approach. Well, sort of. The song lets you think that until the first curveball just before the half of the track. After that, it's just deeper than deep. B2 - "Pulsing Hearts" is another well-crafted dance floor cut. The track moves from deep meditative vibe to subtle acid tripping, just to be finished with a proper bass workout. Overall, we couldn't think of a better way to mark the 10th Barba release.

TJ Hertz's first original release since 2014's critically acclaimed Flatland LP comes in the form of Objekt #4, a continuation of his club-focused white label series and a tribute to the sadly now defunct Basement Q, a formative and beloved haunt in Berlin's Schöneberg district which quietly but profoundly shaped the musical identities of Hertz and several of his contemporaries until its final closure in 2012.

There really was no place quite like it,' remembers Hertz. Even in the later years when Joe (Call Super) and I would go, the sense of vitality was palpable, you had all these regulars who must all have been pushing 50 years old but still had more energy and passion than any 25 year olds we knew at the time. God only knows what it must've been like in the 80s when it opened. I think it changed a bit over the years but I know the horse fresco on the ceiling was there from the start and the custom-built soundsystem too. Bogdan, the sage and amiable but somehow kinda unhinged old Bulgarian dude that owned and built the place, he had this obsession with right angles, he hated them, said they were fascist or something. So everything was slightly askew and you never quite knew which direction was up, much less when he or Emil or one of the other residents were playing. It was disorientating and beautiful and in the midst of such an experience your eyes would offer your brain no valid explanation for the wonderful confusion of sound that your ears were reporting. Meanwhile this old, fabulous, rave-weathered crowd of 40 to 60 people would be gradually losing their shit, feet glued to the floor but bodies flailing as if caught in a hurricane. It was something else.'

The two tracks on Objekt #4 pay tribute to two of the many musical facets of Basement Q in its later years. A-side Needle and Thread' aims to condense several hours of a Thursday night in the Basement into 9 minutes and 26 seconds, embellishing a hypnotic rolling techno backbone with hyper-detailed atmospherics, enchanting melodies and tight, strident breakbeats. B-side Theme From Q' is Hertz's reinterpretation of a Basement Q anthem, owner and founder DJ Bogdan's own Love Inna Basement (Morning Dub)', which never saw an official release despite providing the soundtrack to over 20 years of late morning love-ins in the cellar underneath the Sattler & Söhne glue factory. Together, the two tracks offer an incomplete but nonetheless seductive illustration of one of the most idiosyncratic and overlooked clubs in Berlin's recent history.

Ozel AB follows up releases on Lobster Theremin and Workshop with this highly accomplished genre-busting ep for Third Ear. Ozel AB approached Third Ear with a selection of tracks for us to consider, which he thought would suit the label. He was not wrong.

With his album IN BETWEEN re:deep presents not only an impressive specimen of his musical spectrum. The artist also merges Deep House elements and experimental Folk as well as extremely minimized Indie Pop into a whole new sound concept. re:deep intensively bends the boundaries of the genres, delves deep into the soundscapes of different epochs and styles. Thereby warmly crackling field recordings blend into analogue basslines and sequencers as well as melancholic guitar drones meet sensitive vocals.
The always smoothly appearing and cocooning sound is the subtle recurring theme of the whole album, which develops a close intimacy and captivates by its analogue warmth, which you can't escape of. Tender strings float on vibrant drums and wafting surfaces. The album features the Japanese artist COKIYU, her voice in combination with the arrangement form a symbiotic relationship and evolve WEARING LIGHTS into a journey through slowly drifting Electronica landscapes.
The field recordings, which were made - inter alia - in Iceland's rough countryside, are particularly noticeable between the lines and infuse the soul of the album as well as the love to detail in general. A total of nine tracks are featured on the album, which convince not only by their sound density and close interconnectedness, but also by the shift in emotions. Music, that is enjoyable at your home as well as on the dancefloor and - after all -just touches your body and soul.

Zwischen den Zeilen machen sich vor allem die Field Recordings bemerkbar, die unter anderem in der schroffen Naturlandschaft Islands entstanden sind und die Seele des Albums ebenso erfüllen wie die Liebe zum Detail überhaupt. Our next Seven Hills release Skies Over Sheffield returns the label to its Yorkshire roots. God’s own county yields this long-lost gem of a track courtesy of Sheffield legends and Bleep pioneers Forgemasters, with three new, home-grown remixes from John Shima, Luca Lozano and 96 Back to complement.

The Forgemasters trio: Winston Hazel, Sean Maher and Rob Gordon first gained acclaim with their now iconic, Track with No Name and hold prestige as the first to ever release on Warp Records (WAP1). Skies Over Sheffield however, has been waiting in the wings ever since its conception back in the early 90s; for nearly two decades the sun had stayed set over the track which lay nestled in an old recording of Winston Hazel’s Sheffield Community Radio from 1992. So we’re very proud to announce the long awaited dawn break of Skies Over Sheffield on Seven Hills Records.

The provenance of this record has always been close to our hearts here at Seven Hills; accordingly, we wanted to have a concept for the remixes that kept close ties to the Sheffield music scene. As such, we have two tracks from born and bred producers - John Shima and 96 Back - alongside one from longterm resident and honorary ‘Sheffielder’ Luca Lozano.

So, in the spring of 2017, Fritz dusted off his old drum machines and his Jupiter 8 and immersed himself in the sounds, that first brought him to electronic music twenty years ago and which were to form the basis for his present album 'Drown'. At the beginning of his career it was about establishing himself through a new approach for Fritz. Now it is about celebrating those sounds and their liberating effect on our consciousness. The focus is electronic music as Fritz Kalkbrenner first got to know it in the German capital's now legendary Techno and House clubs as an impressionable young man. The cut, that leaving out the now so familiar baritone voice represents, opens the door to a whole world of electronic music, which is suitable for home listening as well as for the club.

There are no confining conventions on these 12 tracks and at times one could also say: no restraint. Fritz Kalkbrenner indulges in his fascination for Dub Techno, in clear and dominant House arrangements and also in the anthemic melodies that shine through the tracks several times on the new album.
Fritz underlines this new beginning, which is at the same time a reflection on his own beginnings and his own origins, by choosing not to appear on the album's artwork himself this time. Instead of a picture of him, there is a great, atmospheric landscape painting. The brush strokes form the bank of a river or a lake. They are abstract, which makes them all the more expressive. It is the work of Fritz' grandfather, the famous East German painter Fritz Eisel and its title is 'Winterabend (winter evening) in M.'. It was created in 1990, when Fritz was nine years old.

decade. It’s a great pleasure to release his very first solo EP called Débord

Shimza, one of South-Africa’s shining talents, makes his return to Cadenza with ‘Eminence’, a burning compound of profound percussions and late-night rapturing synths. This Gauteng-born artist is one of the most celebrated African electronic musicians and has garnered the reputation of the “Effect Master” and “Vinyl Assassin” for his technical prowess and intricate mixing abilities. The vibrating drums and persistent arpeggios of ‘Eminence’ make for a captivating peak-time anthem, offering the nostalgic essence of Detroit’s late-nineties splendour. As the EP journeys to ‘Dancefloor Keeper’, the slick trance-inspired stabs and permeating bassline expose its ominous nature as it swells to a seismic drop. On the B-side, Shimza expresses his creative flare with ‘Kunye’; a hypnotic cut that blends the spirit of futuristic synthwave with the soul of African tribalism. ‘Warrant For Arrest’ is a charged number, driven by a snappy compressed kick drum and chiming sequences. As its percussive forces fall away to the second break, a monstrous siren and obscure vocal cuts take focus, guiding it to its summit. The penultimate offering ‘MSC’, is a euphoric gem that flows with expressive phrases and evolving synth pads. The EP’s digital-only bonus track ‘Mirrors’ shuffles effortlessly with a funk-tinged riff, maintaining a high voltage pace, closing the EP in an emphatic manner. Shimza has been on a mission to make 2019 his biggest year to date. Launching his One Man Show concept in Soweto in 2009 to help raise funds for underprivileged children, the project has now matured into an annual event that draws in over 25,000 people each year, hosting some of the country’s most in-demand artists, such as AKA, Black Coffee and Black Motion. Finally including a remix by the super duo from the baby pork tacos land, friends and supporters from many years now, Panorama Bar slayers and Aguascalientes'n finest: Zombies in Miami, where they a take a darker approach with haunting synths and latin rhythms.

Canadian maestro Jay Tripwire is a long time underground stalwart with countless gold-dust releases to his name, and still the modest artist keeps pushing on with more stellar tech house immersion heaters. Here he's been invited to Euphoria for an EP that burrows into the most shadowy corners of his sound. "H3misphere" is a spooky jam driven by a shuffling groove and offset with some dubby flourishes - a perfectly balanced workout for the club with a seductive air of mystery lingering around the rhythm section. "Werqles" is a lighter affair, but it's no slouch in the freaky department as a plethora of disembodied machine wriggles ping around the crisp 4/4 throwdown. The whole B-side is given over to SIT's "Remux" of "H3misphere", which holds the groove down in a more linear manner but keeps that chilling atmosphere intact just behind the beats.

Following on from their inaugural release from A2 & Stopouts, OPIA sublabel Euphoric State welcomes the warm and analogue sounds of evergreen producer, Dan Piu. The Swiss producer is known for propelling vital, and ahead of their time sounds since the early 90’s. The ‘Let’s Come Together’ EP makes no exception as Piu showcases some of his catalogue ranging from 1994 -2020.

The aptly named ‘Bleepy at 5AM kicks off the EP, an early morning energiser with a spring in it’s step. Followed by and crafted in ‘94 is ‘El Viento De La Noche’, four and a half minutes of pure emotive bliss, a raw house vibe from the golden era.

B1 ‘Angry Giant Machine’ glides you through its twists and turns, a glitchy and playful number ready to make you move. ‘Mimic Human Form’ is a cross between modern Italo and mysterious electro, a curious outing with its low swung bassline, and swirling synths. Out of ‘99, and still sounding fresh is ‘Q.H.’, a straight up hip-hop energy, with dusty broken drums and rap samples. A fitting ending to a spectrum of sounds.
