Releasing his first ever vinyl release 'El Sunset' on James Holden's, Border Community back in 2007, Chilean producer Ricardo Tobar has since been held in high regard by the seminal UK producer. Intricately constructing his way around the parameters of emotionally-lead, highly atmospheric electronic music, Ricardo has brought his sound forward to grace the rosters of Jennifer Cardini's, Correspondant, ESP Institute and MUSAR Recordings. Continuing to extend his already significant discography, he now returns to MUSAR Recordings for a third time with the 'After The Movie' EP.

Ricardo's 'After The Movie' EP forms a selection of cuts that have been held in his locker for quite some time. Uncovered by MUSAR Recordings label head, David on a podcast from way back, it seemed only natural that this unreleased music from Ricardo would find its home on the Amsterdam-Tel-Aviv label.

"This EP is quite special to me because it reflects a long timeline in my work. The 'After The Movie' track had been in the vault for ages until David from MUSAR found it in an old podcast; it really takes me back to those first steps in recording music." Ricardo Tobar

Across his EP, Ricardo plays with varying textures and arrangements that in turn provide a cross-section of his sound that has expanded and developed over time. 'After The Movie' presents the experimental ambience synonymous with his early works, whilst 'Parques' brings an idyllic, cinematic feel with strictly crafted synth arrangements riding high, post-rock influences also show through. 'Regain Your Power' represents a change of course, whilst also channeling a political message punctuated by social unrest taking place in Ricardo's home country, Chile. He abandons experimentalism in favour of tougher 4x4 elements, allowing his machines to run riot.

Stepping up on the remix is a pair whose names are etched into the history of UK electronic music, Andy Turner and Ed Handley a.k.a. Plaid. Reworking title track 'After The Movie', they produce an emotive, soundscape complete with droning basslines and ex-terrestrial flourishes.

Some say they're so sensitive they've convinced rhinos how to knit. Others think they're so in-tune with the world's heartbeat they've taught crocodiles how to write poetry. There's a rumour going round they're currently training a choir of cats but so far it's uncorroborated. Whatevers. One thing is certain: Animal Trainer have an innate skill of conjuring raw emotion and soul from the most simple of elements.

Now marking ten years of releases on labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Pokerflat, Mobilee, Lena, Hive Audio and many more, the Swiss duo make their debut on Super Flu's Monaberry with two stunning message of a dancefloor peace.

'Rigpa' hits the second those strings sashay into the blend, swooning and gliding over their signature low 'n' slow beat. Timeless in its sense of emotion and euphoria, stately in the way it unfolds, it's another precision heart-melter from Sammy and Adrian.

Crosstown Rebels assemble an A-star team of pioneers and legends for the next mammoth release on the label. 'Touch Your Body' comes courtesy of Felix Da Housecat, Jamie Principle and Vince Lawrence aka The 312 with sublime remixes from Moodymann.

Felix Da Housecat explains how growing up on south side of Chicago I was a huge fan of Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principle. Vince Lawrence was over at Chicago Trax and was the blueprint A&R and catalyst there signing anything hot. By this time I was around 14 and I had just made my first record 'Fantasy Girl', with DJ PIERRE. Over the years I was becoming obsessed with Jamie's sound. We soon became friends and always discussed working together and it took 15 years. Frankie's passing woke me up. I felt I wanted to do something special and it was time to fly back to Chicago to my roots. I wanted to go back where it all began and work with the originators. I called Vince and said I need your mind, guidance and your studio and all of us in one room to bring that spirit back in my soul. I told him we had Jamie Principle and the rest I guess is history. I wanted Crosstown for the project as I felt Damian was the only guy worthy and would understand and treat this project right. House Music needs this right now.. So here we are.'

Felix Da Housecat's career spans more than thirty years with two Grammy nominations. Never failing to impress, he now brings us his latest venture as producer of The 312 project. Jamie Principle is one of the most recognisable voices in the history of house music, featuring on some of the first house records ever made including the seminal 'Your Love' with Frankie Knuckles. Business man, producer and Trax Records organizer Vince Lawrence is another true Chicago house music innovator, responsible for the pivotal house track 'On & On' with Jesse Saunders and the 'Virgo Tracks' releases. Mahogani Music founder Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann grew up in Detroit with his first several releases appearing on Carl Craig's Planet E imprint. 2016 saw him next in the series to mix the respected 'DJ-Kicks' with outstanding results

Guy Gerber's enchanting Rumors label welcomes Israeli groove-maker Roy Rosenfeld to the fold with a pair of his famously magical house tracks.

Born in Jerusalem but musically educated in Tel Aviv, Rosenfeld has evolved into one of house music's most prominent names.
His evocative tracks are made for daydreaming, for getting lost in and dancing along to while filled with warm feelings. They have arrived on key labels like All Day I Dream and Kompakt, while the man himself lays down similarly engaging sets of thoughtful house and techno across Europe, Asia and North and South America.

He opens up his account here with the brilliantly loose grooves of
'No Drama feat. Nadav Dagon.' It's a hypnotic house affair with a mesmeric lead synth line that feels exotic and tropical while the bubbly drums and underlapping bass enrich the whole charming affair.

On the flip side, 'What Happened To Me' is more driving and direct. The punchy house drums are overlaid with spoken word samples that drift in and out while percolating synths ride up and down the scale to bring an off-balance sense of groove.

For the first release of 2020 Banoffee Pies Records introduce "Black Label Series 04" while welcoming another selection of new artists to the fold with a collection of low slung moody tech house for mornings and dusted dance floors.

Opening the releaseBernard Horn's "Ticket 2 Tomar" flaunts a Britney Spears sample to kick the mood off with a drum heavy broken beat full of fluttering synths and spooked out shivers. The A2 comes from friend of the label, and producer of the minute,Alec Falconer, with his tribute track "Hiero". A misted journey along the shore line or across the water showing a short taster of the more sub heavy productions he's known for seen across the likes of Entity or other Garage aliases with a clean 4/4 night drive.

Following his outstanding contribution to Holding Hands Records at the end of 2019 in collaboration with Banoffee mainstay producer Gallegos, Baby Rollen kicks off the B side with an acid infused travel rhythm encompassing the Ecco and aquatic feel using sonar like underwater snippets in "Swimming With Dolphins". The last track comes from Tito Mazzetta and Isai with "Red Bali Tunnel" in true Black Label style. A moving house beat perfect for dusk or dawn creating some semblance of order to round off the dream like states delivered across the release. For slow moving and shaking.

Ben Rau returns with the second release on his Inkal imprint February 15th, featuring new original tracks from the German artist.

Berlin's Ben Rau has become a prominent name in groove-laden house music over the years resident and artist with London's inimitable Fuse events and record label, as well as releases label such as JusGrooveIt and Body Parts.

This February will see Ben back on form with the second release for the label and opening th up is title track 'Work Hard', a smooth slice of driving house fuelled by snaking bass grooves,
slung bumpy percussion and vacillating vocal swells, whilst chugging acid licks and introduction of additional vocal lines gradually creep into the composition.

On the flip is 'Ouisky', another raw, stripped-back addition employing thunderous sub bass sur heavily swung percussive shuffles and an amalgamation of bright chord stabs layered into a hnodding, infectious and dynamic sequence throughout.

Spanish stalwart Dennis Cruz returns to Crosstown Rebels this March with a solid four track EP that sees him join forces with Los Suruba for the title track.

Title track Uhuru opens the EP with a tantalising groove, tribal vocal hook and mesmerizing percussion, inducing a trance-like state. The permeating bass of Notche enters next as it throbs throughout the track, building into a hedonistic spacetrip. Los Libros is a rawer offering with a stripped back percussive section and beguiling female vocal hook. Loco closes the EP with its deep, hypnotic rhythm and an air of darkness that is blended with scintillating synths in the breakdown before diving headfirst back into the intense beat.

Dennis Cruz’s musical journey has seen him win high-praise for his output with a number of awards and nominations including Best Producer in 2017’s DJ Awards. He’s released on influential imprints including Solid Grooves, Moon Harbour and Hot Creations garnering support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Nic Fanciulli and Marco Carola.

B From E aka. Mr Free (Tartelet Records / Traxx Underground / Copenhagen Underground Posse) conveys his modern take on early techno and breakbeats spiked with trance elements on "The Year 8080" for his own, resurrected Buddahood imprint.

Deep atmospheres, sharp melodies and uplifting energy are the main ingredients of the sound of B From E, the housier moniker of the Danish producer and musician Frej Levin. With room for variety, he has created a playground in favour of trancey detours inspired by US techno and early European house music. The encounter between ghetto music and the mindset of finding altered states through a endless, timeless trance is what Frej invites us into - namely his buddha "hood".

I am excited to present the first full release from Balthazar & JackRock on Terminal M. I am playing all three tracks since a few month and always had a huge response. Bamboleo bosses Neverdogs make their long-awaited return to the label this March with ‘What Are You Doing To Me’.

A blossoming label and events series, with stand-out dates across Europe and beyond, Italian duo Neverdogs’ Bamboleo project is quickly becoming a favourite for many within the world of house, with the past twelve months welcoming material from rising names including Roberto Surace, Ray Mono, GruuvElement’s and Calvin Clarke to name just a few.

As the label now ventures into it's second year, March sees the return of the label bosses themselves following their acclaimed debut album ‘Details’ on the imprint last summer and further recent material via the likes of Moan, Decay and more as they deliver four fresh original cuts in the form of their latest EP, ‘What Are You Doing To Me’.

Title cut ‘What Are You Doing To Me’ opens the EP with authority, combining infectious vocals and rolling drums with a snaking core bassline, before ‘Acid Summer’ takes cues from its title as the duo work a menacing, evolving lead acid line throughout.

After only a tiny time-out Cómeme can't help but remain restless and return even more internationalist than before, since this EP brings together artists from Moscow, Medellin and Cologne, as well as guests from Spain. Claude VonStroke and Catz ’n Dogz have known each other for ages and both have remixed each other in the past, but the “Raggadagga” EP is the first full collaboration of the artists. The veteran producers’ decades of experience come together for two completely different sounding pieces of music.

“Raggadagga” is a beast - a driving and relentless attention-grabber from the first note, with a vocal chant that puts you in the middle of a tribal gathering.

Natansa Bala Original is essentially an eight-minute loop, it's the kind of cut you could play from start to finish in the right setting. Intricate drums, a live-sounding bassline and a analogic effects combine for a perfect banger that will surely be getting rinsed for some time.

Between the vast flatlands of Western Ukraine and the Pacific shores of Vladivostok, a new quirky techno underground has been racking up hefty grid rhythms below the radar. Initially free from the weekend routines of the established club circuit, producers from Etapp Kyle to Stanislav Tolkachev have been experimenting with the possibilities of shifting grids in their post-socialist bedroom studios. The interconnecting conduit of these geographically isolated minds has often been the radio show of Nikita Zabelin, a Moscow-based DJ mining the local torrents for treasures. Vladimir Dubyshkin is one premier example of how this culture yields wildly exciting finds. Listening to how sweepingly effective his de-centered vision of techno is, it's hard to believe that this actually is his first fully fledged vinyl release. Hailing from Tambov, a city of 280.000 souls 460 km southeast of Moscow, Vladimir Dubyshkin is a regular of Zabelin's show and has contributed tracks to two compilations on Nina Kraviz's TRIP label - another major force in bringing great techno from the fringes of the former Soviet Union to the attention of the world. The "For Various Reasons EP", coming in two separate installments, now shows the full picture of Dubyshkin's special talents. Highly energetic, rave-infested analog techno with de-tuned melodies rubbing against take-no-prisoners basslines. There is an intense emotional component present at all times, typically missing in Western grayscale techno. And once again, the great promise of participation of techno has been proved alive and well, with the freshest contribution coming from the least expected of places.

Her return was imminent. Now she's back, and like her current rise among the industries elite, Amelie Lens delivers an astonishing three tracker of her signature pulse pounding expeditions. Pair that with a massive remix from the legendary Perc and you've got 'Stay With Me', an EP headed straight for the charts. Right from the start Lens dives into the ethereal with 'Follow Me' which could be her deepest cut to date.

As atmospheric shimmers dance around endless spaces, her smooth and seductive voice coax you to follow her, close your eyes and give your trust before a booming low end and relentless percussion forge a dreamy trek into the unknown. Following 'Follow Me' is the perfect response as Amelie embraces her affinity for the heavy with 'Stay With Me' where swirling acid lines and gargantuan drums lead you into a trance like state of absolute frenzy.

Flipping to the B-Side we see the fabled Perc deliver an absolute monster remix of 'Stay With Me' as he tightly loops the vocal & lays it over a pleasantly brutal beat and dazzling rises of white noise to create a track that will demolish dance floors for eternity. Wrapping things up is 'Winter' named after Amelie's mischievous little feline who most know via social media as her 'studio partner'.

Like a cat 'Winter' retains a playful and energetic pace with a dash of frisky trouble all while maintaining the seriousness of Amelie's signature sound. All in all, this release is a monumental attest to
Lens' meteoric rise as one of Techno's most promising new faces.

A1 - Raining: Calma opens up with a hypnotic rumbler! Snaps and claps take us in, before the eery synths and floating pointesque keys punctuate and a squelqchy, distorted bassline rumbles beneath the surface, making you feel like you're at a party in a haunted church.

A2 - Cuattro: Calma takes us on a tropical trip, with an infectious sun-filled groove looping over incessant layers of beat patterns that weave in and out of the track teasingly, driven along by a banging bass drum to keep you nodding.

B1 - Mr Amarè: Calma shows his love for acid house with an epic, ever-evolving influenced roller that blends together nearly every percussion instrument you could ever dream of. Crashes, symbals and a cowbell drive it along, underscored by a seriously funky bass line and mysterious vocal sample that emerges halfway through tying it all together nicely.

B2 - Cuattro /Juju & Jordash RMX): Juju and Jordash take over the remix duties for Calma. The Dutch duo add their deep trademark sunshine inflected beats and sturdy basslines to the already tropical loop, while infusing swirling synths and strings that lead us in and out of the breakdowns and on to a late night, chilled-out dance floor.

It's all about hooking up our music to the emotional world of electronic music at the beginning of the Nineties, however, without falling for nostalgic references. We don't want to do cowardly Zeitgeist Techno, we want to have the heart to dare big sounds and more melodies. Sunrise scenarios, energy, revolution and kaput-ness, all these are parts of the Extrawelt.' (Extrawelt, 2008) However, don't panic: even if the aesthetics of the debut album of the two Hamburg born artists Arne Schaffhausen und Wayan Raabe is affected by the attentive observation of electronic dance music over the last fifteen years, the 'Schöne Neue Extrawelt' is above all this: Premium Techno 2008! The Hamburg-based producer team has been unmistakably imprinting the last three years' club sound with widely noticed releases on Border Community ("Sooper Track"), Traum Schallplatten ("Doch Doch") and Cocoon Recordings ("Titelheld") as well as with remixes for Gregor Tresher, Minilogue or Alexander Kowalski - last but not least due to an excellent live presence, that resulted in the second rank in the Groove Live Act Charts, even still without the accompanying long player. The work on 'Schöne Neue Extrawelt' started more than two years ago for Schaffhausen and Raabe. 'The initial idea was to present an album covering all styles of electronic music between Ambient, Breakbeats and Techno. When we had 25 tracks for the album ready, we had to realize that this approach did not work for us. Insofar, we finally decided to use the 4/4 bass drum in all tracks except in the little intermezzo 'Kurt Curtain". We have tested all tracks live over the last three months and constantly re-interpreted them. So, the 'danceability' is clearly in our focus, but the sound spectrum and the dramaturgy of the titles should not be solely functioning in the club. Of all the Network treasured relics set to be released this year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the label there’s nothing as appropriate as the Nexus 21 “Made In Detroit” EP - it was recorded in the 1990 starter year and has been stuck In the vaults gathering dust ever since.

Why the 4 tracks on the EP never got issued is partially shrouded in mystery as explained later on,

I first met Mark Archer at one of the infamous Thursday night House Music sessions at No 7’s Wine Bar in Burntwood. It was my local haunt,and I used to turn up with acetates and test pressings of just recorded Techno tracks from my regular trips to Detroit for DJ Neil Macey to give them their first UK plays.

Neil, who later came to work at Network, introduced me to Mark and we got talking about his partner, Chris Peat, and their recording project Nexus 21. They had released a pioneering U.K. Techno meets B-Boy album “The Rhythm Of Life” on Stafford label Blue Chip which had gone out of business. I was intrigued by the idea of working with fellow Midlanders making music I was used to going to Detroit to find for the Kool Kat label I co-owned.

For their part, Mark and Chris were beguiled by my Detroit connections. especiallythe fact I was managing their Techno idols Derrick May, Kevin Saunderso and Juan Atkins. A brief courtship was consummated when they signed to was to become our new label, Network, and our music publishing outfit Kool Kat Music.

Network bought the rights to the Blue Chip recordings, and tapes of the standout track “(Still) Life Keeps Moving were instantly despatched to Detroit where Kevin Saunderson conjured up a magical remix - at mates rates compared to what I was charging the majors record label majors for a rework by him -
and he also threw in the first remix ever done by an unknown kid called Carl Craig!

This Stafford-Detroit connection seemed such a winner that my Netwotk partner Dave Barker and myself agreed we should send our new signings to Detroit to record. Not surprisingly there were no objections from Mark or Chris! Our bank manager would have probably had a view, but we never asked him anything.

We flew over in April 1990 and tracks were recorded at Kevin’s KMS Sudiio. Derrick May’s Transmat set up was upstairs in the same building, and Juan Atkins Metroplex operation next door. Mark and Chris were in Techno heaven. Four tracks were recorded “Don’t Do It Like That”, “Nexus”, “No Statues” and “Together” with a young Marc Kichen supplying percussion. Jay Denham added bits too, and Kevin supplied his engineer Chris Andrews working the desk where Inner City’s mega hit “Good Life” has been recorded a few months earlier.
For good measure you can hear Kevin talking on the outro to the instrumental mix of “Don’t Do It Like That.”

The stay also involved Mark and Chris hanging out with Detroit Techno royalty Derrick May’ Juan Atkins, Ann Saunderson, Chez Damier and Octave One plus for good measure overcoming “but we’re British” trepidation and performing at revered Motor City Techno venue Club Taboo.

All in all an epic trip. I can remember flying back to the UK with the guys absolutely delighted with the recordings and planning World domination. So why didn’t the recordings - apart from “Together”- never get released? I would love to give you a detailed explanation but I can’t!
I vaguely remember a plan to add “Nexus” and “No Statues” to the Nexus 21 tracks later released on the excellent “Progressive Logic” Network EP, the idea being that this would be the basis of an LP which we believed would establish Nexus 21 as electronica giants.

As for “Don’t Do It Like That” with those beguiling sassy vocals by Donna Black, we had hopes of a Pop crossover hit once the (never released) album came out. In the middle of all this not very well defined but optimistic plotting, our World turned upside down when Mark and Chris turned up at the Network office one day with what ended up as the first Altern 8 tracks, We all went on a Rave mission, and the Detroit tracks were put aside for another day.

We never thought that day would take 30 days. . .

East End Dubs returns to FUSE this August to deliver his highly anticipated ‘bRave’ EP, accompanied by label boss Enzo Siragusa on remix duties.

Easily one of house music’s most prolific producers, DJs and label owners, East End Dubs’ sharp rise as one of scenes most in-demand artists has seen the London-based producer make appearances across a slew of Europes most notable venues, including the likes of Amnesia, DC-10 and Benimussa Park (Ibiza), Watergate (Berlin) and Village Underground (London) in 2019 alone. Following on from his collaborative EP alongside original FUSE resident Rich NxT back in June, August will finally see the release of the long-awaited ‘bRave’, one of the most requested tracks of the year having been championed heavily by label head Enzo Siragusa and Jamie Jones across recent months, alongside two further originals and a hefty remix from Siragusa himself.

Toby Tobias has been at the coalface of the British leftfield house movement for many years now, releasing, without fuss or fanfare, on an array of fine releases for labels such as ESP Institute, Delusions Of Grandeur, Rekids and many more.

Tobias opens up Futureboogie’s 2020 account with ‘Trippy Steve’, a trio of spaced out dance cuts, which come complete with a remix from Fantastic Man. ‘Trippy Steve’ blends energetic and raw disco rhythms with wide eyed and transcendental deepness, a powerful dubwise bassline that really drives the energy here. Australia’s Fantastic Man (Superconcious Records), keep’s the proceedings
lively on his remix here, a rasping b-line and rolling beats thrust forward at a pace, dubbing out the vocal samples and opening up the bass for some wiggy acid business.

‘Cosmic Slang’ charmingly chugs with reverb soaked piano chords and ascending synths, whilst ‘Deo Mort’ is loose and carefree, with a myriad of classic samples cropping up amongst fragmented beats and a cap doffed towards the Sheffield bleep sound of old.

In the year that Leipzig label Moon Harbour celebrates 15 years in operation, it is not slowing
down its new release schedule. Here comes the third in as many months, and it is another
stunner from Re.You, aka German talent Marius Maier with a remix by Butch.

Mayer debuted on the label in 2014 and also frequents the likes of Mobilee and Souvenir. His
slick and slinky sound is perfectly suited to the label as it makes people dance as well as
offering off kilter samples and sound design, and that's exactly the case again here.

His one great original is 'Very Very', a prying house track with well defined drums tumbling over
paranoid bass. Firm claps and tough hits add muscle to the weird synth sounds and all sorts of
squelches, water droplets and weird voices ensure it will make for some freaky moments on the
dance floor.

Butch, the hugely prolific German Turk known for his tracks on Cocoon and with Ricardo
Villalobos, boils the original down to a steamy brew of drums and percussive layers that takes
you deep into the night. Finally, "Try" from Re.You is a beautifully drunken sounding track with
bulbous synth drops, blurting machine sounds and pixelated chords that add texture and main
room energy to the cantering, pinging drums. It's another real winner.

Once again here Moon Harbour have unearthed some fresh tech beats that are sure to
soundtrack your summer in memorable style.

Coastal Haze welcome the new decade with one of the most exciting artists to come out of the UK of recent in Adam Pits. Known for his intricate productions, this will be Pits' first release on the label having already gained support from the likes of Ciel, Batu and Call Super. "International Wafter" offers up four club weapons, two peak time whompers and two ethereal burners.

Nathan rouses his Cambria Instruments label for his first album since 2017s ‘Providence’. ‘Blizzards’ is a returns to a clubbier sound, whilst keeping the melodic depth and rewarding narratives that have entranced his fans worldwide since his early records on Border Community and his seminal track ‘The Sky Was Pink’. Using a similar setup to his slamming live show, the album’s track were mostly recorded in one take with a deliberately limited hardware selection.

Words like soulful techno, real techno and true techno are easily thrown around these days but what really is a 'true techno' record? Arguably we could put Nu Era's debut 1994 "Beyond Gravity" album in that bracket.
"EVOLVE" follows in that footpath and in some ways goes back to an earlier techno sound, pretty hard to do that while still sounding futurist. EVOLVE does just that, its Nu Era still evolving without loosing formation. From the opening track "Metal Butterfly" the 909 drum machine powers through classic Marc Mac (4hero) chords and melodies, that 909 kick drum and baseline work in combination to deliver a more edgy techno belter on "Flying Colours".
The 4x4 kick is broken up on tracks and electrified on "Theme From Joe Smoke" the yin and yang forces provide a haunting but uplifting electro master class. "Closer To Mars" creeps into a fusion style tech workout, with jazzy, soulful keys and melodies intertwining, EVOLVE is complexed but simply soulful with big influence from Detroit and has all the hallmarks of a classic in waiting.

Raven has collaborated with many well-respected artists including Kate Tempest, Paul Weller, Mica Levi, Kwes and Bullion. His music upholds a balance between the orchestral and electronic, abstract and conventional. Parallels can be drawn to the artist Arthur Russell, in terms of their diversity, creating tracks you can dance to, but also songs and music for reflection. Drawing inspiration largely from the people around him, Raven explains "I find people really inspiring, it’s amazing what can happen after a good conversation, it can give you a different perspective on things. I guess I’m always trying to get a new perspective in one way or another, I find that really creative." Combining this with an interest in dance as an art form and movement, Raven came to create Jeté. Having recently worked with some incredibly talented choreographers and dancers, Raven looks to explore the creative freedom, emotion and human connection within dance with his new record; the EP title Jeté literally translates as the French for "jump" and the cover art was a photograph taken by Raven's father of dancers back in the 80s.

"Rough House Rosie starts its year by introducing Area, a project that has seen action on adventurous underground labels like Idle Hands, Sequencias, Ethereal Sound, and UMHS. The moody four track EP opens with sinuous acid house and a rubbery bassline techno stomper, then gets raw and abstract on the B side. Visceral and varied electronic music for the soul."

Returning to Cadenza Records after two previous singles ('The Motorglider' EP and 'Precursors' EP), Eduardo De La Calle drops 'The Methodical Machines EP' this December on Luciano's imprint. Across two pieces of vinyl, and five tracks, Eduardo flexes his unique sound design of minimal and soulful grooves. Heavily indebted to the classic sounds of the Detroit techno visionaries, Eduardo has built up a solid reputation through his Analog Solutions label, and also through his film production career (check the electronic music documentary 'Beatz' for some insight here). A staunch supporter of all things analogue, Eduardo manages to tease out some highly emotive and melancholic music from the machines. The sci-fi vibes of opening 'Gajapati' build gradually over the brooding and spongy production, whilst 'The Namuci's Mistery' is soaked with pitch bending synths and rasping acidic stabs. Eduardo brings into play his jazz influences on 'Concierto De Aranjuez', floating some freestyle keys and wandering waveforms over a body popping beat whilst the sparse beats of 'The Demigod's Control' are brought to life with the stuttering electronics and rising pads, as ever filled with heaps of emotion and soul. Quickly becoming a key player in Luciano's Cadenza stable, Eduardo continues to produce unique and inspiring electronic music, a quality that the label always strives for, and can be found in abundance on 'The Methodical Machines'. Flash Forward is proud to release another beautiful gem from the italian producer Emanuele Luzzi, who shined in "Stolen Moments" and "A Tone Colour Of Onirico" as Onirico and Oneiric.For the first time after 26 years, Flash Forward is been issuing the alternate take version of a 1991 UMM gem by Onirico, "Tribal Echo", a hypnotic-tribal-surreal tone recorded live into the DAT tape, a new terrific version of one of Onirico most exciting tracks. Listening to it, you could enter some kind of trip through the darkness, a very emotional journey in which imagine the sunset rhythm fighting with flashing shadows, the neverending battle between good and evil.
