With his first solo release since launching the Sideral project earlier this year, Sideral's Trills' EP is now available on HABITAT, the new label from Italian duo Mind Against. Launching this past June with their standout Metaflora VA compilation which included tracks from Ivory, Dyzen, Nandu, Ae:ther, and more (in addition to a collaboration between Sideral and Mind Against), HABITAT keeps the momentum going with this exciting release.

First up is the delightfully melodic '2109' with its sleek beats and cosmic chords. It's a pure and beautiful soundscape for uplifting dancing with great synth craft and plenty of future vibes. Trills then gets more upbeat but is no less rich and melodic - the chords shimmer up top over the stylish beats below. They roll deep and are sure to captivate the club.

The DJ/producer is a renowned tastemaker, passionate about sounds from across the house spectrum.

Heimyl rhymes with spatial. On a 90's vibe beat, he gradually takes us into his folkloric universe.

Acid Charlie takes us to a parallel universe with acid colors.

Parallel Minds’ fifth label release is a major landmark for the Toronto-based label. Not only is it their first full length LP, it is also the debut album from co-founder Ciel, who is also making her first solo appearance on the label since its inception.

In 2021, spurred on by a productive creative streak and the economic austerity of pandemic lockdowns, the Xi’an-born and Toronto-based DJ Ciel (real name Cindy Li) applied for grant funding from the government of Canada to write her debut album. Self-proclaimed “DJ first, producer second”, Ciel never thought she would have the self-confidence and desire to write an album. It wasn’t until after spending prolonged time away from clubs & festivals whilst dedicating herself to daily sessions in her studio that she gained the motivation and aspiration to make a musical statement that only an album could express.

Since the start of the covid19 outbreak, Ciel, like many other Chinese diaspora people in the West, had felt a great deal of anxiety and pain at the rise of anti-Chinese sentiment and racism in the media — even in her corner of the dance music industry. Tired of expressing her frustrations fruitlessly online, she felt inspired to channel that into her music, to turn something that was filled with hate into a thing of joy and beauty. It was within this context that Homesick began to take shape.

After researching the rich history of Chinese instruments, a concept began to form around the album in which she could marry her love of sampling and analogue instruments. Using the eight types of traditional Chinese instruments (silk, bamboo, wood, stone, metal, clay, gourd, and hide) as a guideline, Li began writing each track with a focus on one of the eight. She hired traditional Chinese instrumentalists to play the guzheng and the xiao, whilst purchasing and teaching herself the smaller hand drum instruments like the kuaiban (bamboo clappers), and muyu (temple blocks). With the news that she had successfully been granted funding from Canada Arts Council, she wrote, recorded, arranged, and mixed all nine tracks of her album over the first three months of 2022. More than just highlighting Chinese instruments, the music on this album encapsulates so many musical influences from Ciel’s childhood when she began her lifelong love affair with music. True to her style as a DJ, the LP incorporates a diversity of genres she loves, from drum & bass to house, electro to breaks - even downtempo.

What has come out of these sessions is a deeply personal dancefloor record, a true expression of love for Cindy’s culture that came out of a time of relentless chaos, negativity, and uncertainty. Ciel sees her compositions as a distillation of herself — her life experiences, her wide interests and passions, and her often-turbulent emotions. Immersing oneself in the LP feels like listening to the musical confessions of an artist heading towards the peak of their career, who is finally starting to make sense of her artistic identity. What a joy to witness it.

In folklore, the witching hour or devil's hour is a time of night associated with supernatural events. Creatures such as witches, demons and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful and magic is thought to be most effective at this time.

It is also the time when we are at Underground parties, this is considered the main time of the party before it tapers off into the ethereal realm of translucent soundscapes and marionette dance moves. This is when we feast on sound intoxication and our parallel daywalker skins are shed into ancient dances and rites of sacred drums.

The witching Hour takes our souls back to our ancient pagan rituals of music and dance till the cleansing of dawn, this is where revelations happen and where groups of like minded people form a coven of sorts and bond in non verbal communications thru the expression of movement.

This is a new label project from Jay Tripwire and TJ Mc Au, they will be presenting underground minimal sounds specifically designed for the dancefloor and for the DJ.

This EP features Creepshow and Klangtone. Creepshow is a dark bassy roller with an eerie underground atmosphere that holds the groove but it also designed for mixing and layering. Klangtone features a percussive groove, voices from the Tikuna rainforest tribe and a haunting modular flute line with a massive sub bass that is sure to rattle bassbins. This is classic Tripwire with modern production but still keeping the his roots of his trademark sound.

PT22 is finally here and we are super excited to welcome Jean Bressan, owner of the sublime minimal label Kosmophono Records. Jean has been on fine form recently collecting support from some of the scenes finest like Arapu, Gescu and Sepp who have all been playing this exciting 4 track EP for the last 12 months. We were instantly attracted the Jean’s hypnotic minimal groovy style and new we had to welcome him into the Pathway Traxx Family and he sure delivered with this excellent EP.

Our 11th release comes from the super talented Kevin Toro who brought along a couple of his friends to supply us with 4 original cuts each with their own distinct vibe, ranging from deep and melodic to the groovy and housier end of the spectrum!

Local Dub present their next offering on You&Me Records with a superb 3 tracker. They serve up a selection of retro vibes whilst keeping that signature You&Me energy amongst the EP. The tasteful vocal hooks, killer basslines and groovy drums across all of the tunes make for a mainstay in anyone's record bag.

Mateo Dufour hails from Argentina and runs a number of his own labels but here finds himself on Politics Of Dancing with an irresistible new hand-stamped white label 12". It's direct to dancefloor business from the off with the bristling drums and perc powering along 'Let Yourself Go' beneath snatched vocal yelps.

There is just as much silvery metallic texture on show in 'Power Of Them', a jacked-up house sound with more vocal encouragement and neon melodic phrases panning about the mix. 'Dashed Street' is a third and final steel-plated house cut before cultured Frenchman D'Julz remixes 'Dashed Street' into a smoother tech house cruiser.

Non-human life forms emerge from the underground, while we, powerless, witness the scene. NYC powerhouse master Jean Pierre yet again joins forces with Trangaz as Mutant People for "On A Mission" EP, diving into a state of flow that will lead them to wander into desolate harsh lands of hefty grooves, modular craziness, and mighty low-end waves. To back them up, wisdom cathartic soldier Amir Alexander delivers a long-play minimal techno interpretation, making you get some air before disappearing back into the abyss to carry out his mission.

Tá Sempre Pegando Fogo is Rabu Mazda's second album, a long-standing solo project of Leonardo Bindilatti, this time debuting at Discos Extendes.

Leo is part of Cafetra Records, where he maintains an active role in musical creation and production. He was a member of Kimo Ameba, Go Suck A Fuck, Kridinhux, Egg Shell, Rabu Mazda & Van Ayres and is part of Iguanas and Putas Bêbadas.

This multiplicity of experiences and styles is also reflecting the private and intimate multiplicity of this Rabu Mazda that we now finally get to know better. He is ceaselessly a physical soul on fire and, thus, it sets, naturally, fire to this record that he’s sharing with us.

In parallel, if contemporaneity is also a place on fire, his music can be a timely response to this confusion. Even with all the layers that each song contains, they can bring, to anyone who wants, an energetic clarity with regard to being alive and the pleasure that one can find in that condition. Although some kind of contemporary aggressiveness and crudity are a fundamental part of the identity of this work, the tracks push us to give in to the constraints and point us to the impetus of dancing, pulsating inside the body and finding ways to get out.

It seems that this is what Rabu Mazda really wants: to light up the dance and encourage us to catch the glasses and share a wheel of positivism. Given his Brazilian ancestry, he gave his name to this disc with an appropriation of an idiomatic expression, which refers to states of agitation, sexual excitement, or drunkenness - here, as a starting point for a type of imaginary. It becomes curious to see how he uses his music not only as an end, but also as a way to create some sort of happening.

Adds, to the references of Brazilian Funk, Kuduro, Footwork and House, his melodic textures, mostly nostalgic and his rhythmic compositions to deconstruct music that we thought we knew.

The jacking house track, out this October, is backed with alternate mixes and a remix from Kevin Swain (DOP).

Founder of Boy’s Own and Junior Boys Own and an active part of Defected sub-label Faith, Terry Farley is a bonafide house legend. Teaming up with XOYO and Music Box Radio resident Wade Teo, the duo recruit New York-based spoken word artist Kameelah Waheed for a party-starting house cut on Radio Slave’s Rekids.

Across the A-side, robust drums, rocking low end, and piano stabs combine to provide the perfect backdrop for Kameelah Waheed’s infectious vocal performance. On the flip, Farley and Teo deliver their ‘Lonely Dancer Remix’ to kick off the B-side, adding subtle percussions and floating pads for a grooving rework. Rounding out the release, Farley recruits Kevin Swain for the collaborative ‘Angels Take Control’ remix, with dubbed-out claps, menacing low-end combining for a heads-down closing track.

For the next release on Sync 24's Cultivated Electronics, dynArec presents his first full EP for the label with 'Murder is The Number'. French musician, dynArec started making music in 1994 but it wasn't until 2003 that he released his debut EP on Delsin. A string of critically acclaimed releases has followed on other labels including Puzzlebox, Solar One Music, Nature, Return To Disorder, Electrix, Bass Agenda, his own Vaporwave label and more, which has established him as an artist with a unique sound. dynArec now brings that seminal craftsmanship to Cultivated Electronics over four new tracks from the imposing 'Stop and Stall' via the electronic funk of 'First in Motion' and deeply grooving ' Specialized In Anything', to the twinkling closer, ' Lowest Perceived Legitimacy'.

ALBEIT009 sees a solo artist EP from Spanish dance music producer Alex Martin under his A3K alias. The release comprises three minimal techno and house cuts made for the club and afters – all tracks were recorded in the late 90s.

We’ve come to the third and final installment of Dam Swindle’s ‘Keep on Swindling’ series and are proud to see them finishing off their 10-year anniversary with a bang. This final ep holds 2 new originals, remixes by Nightmares on Wax and DJ Bone and the long-awaited re-release of their seminal track from 2013: ‘The Wrap Around’.

‘Keep on Swindling part 3’ kicks off with ‘You’; a fast-paced slice of electronic funk that sees the boys dive into heady club territory. With this track, they show a new direction in their sound that combines their vintage sampled-based soulfulness with modern percussive and melodic elements. Whether it’s the moody arpeggio, the techno-ish stabs or the bell-driven percussion in ‘You’; it’s all coming together in a way that is both heartwarming and rush-inducing.

The A side also holds ‘More Love’; a track that takes you back to what has been the center of the Dam Swindle sound in the past 10 years. Conga loops, vocal chops, synth stabs and a simple string to keep the tension; it’s all in there. Add to that a simple funk bass loop and you’ve got yourself a modern-day Swindle classic.

On the flip, you’ll find a special song from the Dam Swindle catalog: ‘The wrap around’. When released on Huxley’s now defunct ‘Saints & Sonnets’ label back in 2013, the release made its way into many record bags and sold out quickly, never to be repressed again. Discogs prices went through the roof, while the title track became one of the biggest tracks for Dam Swindle in their early years. Now, it will be available on vinyl and digital again through Heist. It's had a few touch-ups in arrangement and mixing for the 2022 mix, but the boys worked hard to maintain the rough edges that made the original loved by so many fans.

The B2 is a collaboration with none other than Nightmares on Wax, who delivers a brilliantly creative version of ‘64 ways feat. Mayer Hawthorne’. N.O.W. completely flips the original, opting to use the spoken word intro in a mangled and chopped way on top of a nasty groove and soaring bassline. The main vocal comes in during the second part of the song and adds to the buildup with new Rhodes chords, cowbells, and electronic chops. It was already special when we got together and agreed on the remix, but the result really blew our mind and cemented the position of N.O.W. as a legendary producer even more.

The EP closes off with another special track: DJ Bone’s Doc Ciroc remix of ‘The Wrap Around’. DJ Bone has been living in the Netherlands for a long time already and it was only a matter of time before the legendary Detroit producer and DJ would meet Dam Swindle. It was on one if his ‘Further’ events that we laid the foundation for this collab and it’s an honor to have DJ Bone add his raw soulful techno style to the Swindle’s original track. DJ Bone goes for pacey percussion with a classic Detroit Techno feel. His version is minimalistic and raw, chopping up the vocal and using the original Prophet pad as a base layer of warmth. The track gets even beefier when the bassline comes in: A dirty modded 101 lick with so much electronic funk that makes it impossible not that dance.

On ‘Keep on Swindling part 3’, Dam Swindle showcase a more electronic side of their sound and sees them connect with likeminded artists who have delivered amazing interpretations of some of the most loved DS tracks of the past years. With that, we’ve come to a banging conclusion to 10 years of Dam Swindle. There’s only thing that keeps us up right now: What will their next step be…?

Great VA, vinyl only! New vinyl only imprint from FUSE London resident Rich NxT. The first VA kicks off with an incredibly funky and hypnotic groove from Tolga Top. Croatian scene player and FUSE extended family Mariano Mateljan lays down a heavy stripped back roller. Emerging UK artists Josh Baker and Moonlit Vision, both introduce their styles on the flip side with proper dancefloor direction. Music to get your rave on.

HOUSEWAX presents another great release by Audiopath. He's back after 2018's "Gimmee That Seat" on the 10 inch series, now with a 4 tracker full of retro future classics. Highly recommended!

Please welcome Thessaloniki's jackmaster DimDJ with a full EP on Snuff Trax! Two years ago he remixed Elec Pt.1 (RIP) on Snuff Trax 010. This time around he has come up with three wonderful tracks, accompanied by a banging remix by Photonz & Violet.

Butter Sessionsbestows the subsequent postscript toGuy Contact's2019 releaseLiminal Spacewith the Perth-based producers first long-player,Drinking from the Mirage. The record lines up eight enchanting configurations, with two digi bonus tracks. The compositions were recorded over the last couple of years in his bedroom studio. He explains, "most of them were recorded in the second half of 2020. I had just quit my full-time job and found myself with much more time and energy to be creative, the majority of the songs came to life during this period." The album's collection paints warm dreamscapes and expansive textures, an affirmation ofGuy Contactfurther refining his craft. He treads effortlessly between acid-stained techno, dreamy braindance and trancelike downtempo that acutely grip the neural network.

The LP takes off with it's anchor90 Mile Straight (Nullarbor Mix),a rhythm driven cruiser that sets the tone for the record. The album's titleDrinking From The Miragefollows, a collaboration with Perth artistNORI.Guy Contactcomments "Nora is a friend of mine and I hit her up with that song because I thought there was an opportunity to do something together. Being long-time minimal instigators, what Italoboyz don’t know about stripped back grooves isn’t worth knowing. Written and produced by one half of Italoboyz Marco Donato, ‘Madam’ EP is Superfiction Recordings’ 16th outing and is as crisp as the day the day is long. Lead track ‘Madam’ combines a straight up house beat with expertly strummed strings and an undulating bassline to create a bobbing and weaving head turner. On the flip of this Pager Records artist Phil Evans takes the original and spices things up with a nicely blown bass tones as well as his trademark funk and a dashing of acid.

Not wishing to waste time on overly complicated drum sequences ‘Unisanza’ instead concentrates on the groove and layers up huge doses of raw synth lines and detuned xylophone elements to conjure up lost afternoons on a sunny terrace. ‘Rude Evin’ rounds out Superfiction Recordings with a tightly woven rhythmic monster with the wonky setting dialled up to 11. Tough bassline notes underpin the skipping percussion and taught drums punctuating Italoboyz own Superfiction Recordings latest vinyl only offering perfectly.

Peter LC, a producer known from Small Great Things’ “Small Great Tunes Vol. 1” Compilation (SGT002) which came out last summer, blesses us again, this time with a full EP titled “Walking On Clouds” (SGT003) coming out soon. The title nails the mood perfectly. We’re thrilled to present four tasteful house music compositions.
Starting with “Dance With Me Baby”, the producer opens the EP with a bang. The track features Wurlitzer riffs and soulful, ear-wormy vocals on top of busy percussions - a combination which undeniably delivers a powerful groove.

The energy on the A side seems to go a level further with the second track. Marc Brauner and Luca Olivotto, two artists closely related to the label’s creative output, have remixed the opening track and took it in a slightly different direction. Piano riffs and the specific choice of synthesizers gave this version of “Dance With Me Baby” a kiss of the 90s sound aesthetic.

The B-Side starts with the title track “Walking On Clouds”. The track features a beautiful dialogue of sampled voices describing ideas about music and it’s creation process, underlined by relaxed and blissful pads with a groovy bassline and a soft breakbeat. With “Baby Don’t Go Away”, Peter LC takes the energy higher once more and closes the EP with a proper “booty-shaker”, serving groovy basslines, vocal samples, piano chords and a whole lot of snares and claps!

The producer fell in love with 70's disco and started producing soon after his DJ career begun. His style is usually marked by research focusing on house music and includes influences which are deeply rooted in disco, jazz and funk inspired by 70's italian records and the most avant-garde sounds. Pietro La Calamita comes from Matera, south of Italy, where he had the chance to propose his music to thousands of people during numerous performances.

The area was now quite empty, the floor littered with empty Evian bottles. The consensus is that the Tangerine Sunsets are a disappointment.

After gaining widespread acclaim for its original release four years ago, Smek by Tunisian duo Ÿuma will be reimagined with a bespoke remix package. Releasing on Crosstown Rebels, Ricardo Villalobos, SIS and MoM will be on duty to provide three distinctive remixes of the original.

Ricardo Villalobos leads the charge. Highlighting the signature sound with which he has become best known, Ÿuma’s hypnotic vocals converge on stripped-back kicks whilst subtle pads sing gently in the background. Ricardo Villalobos has been at the forefront of electronic music for over two decades. Burak Sar AKA SIS is another of the minimal scene’s most long-standing artists. Notable productions in the form of Trompeta and Nesrib were swiftly picked up by Groove Magazine, who went on to vote him ‘Producer Of The Year’ for Nesrib and award him ‘Track Of The Year’ for Trompeta. Spanish-born MoM has garnered a reputation for sonic storytelling thanks to his bespoke approach to music, with releases on Still vor Talent, DeNature and a collaboration with Burning Man regular Acid Pauli further establishing his unique
and varied sound.

Per Hammar’s Dirty Hands label lines up a versatile stack of tracks from the label boss himself together with owner of BodyParts Records, Ukraine’s Olga Korol.

Na Zare kicks off the EP with pace – a peak-time roller which features vocal snippets of Korol, inspired by legendary 80s soviet rock band ‘Alliance’ and their captivating and poetic track Na Zare

The second Track on A-Side Yard B develops into more after-hour territory, offering moody undertones layered with bouncy twangs and lighter high hats, with Korol describing it as ‘the kind of sounds you’d enjoy in the backyard at the after-hours’.

On the flip side Hibernation – which the guys describe as having a slightly different atmosphere to the first two tracks and more down tempo in contrast.

Pressure Traxx label head Arno comes in on the EP for remix duties, with his cosmic rerub of Hibernation, sealing the eclectic 4 track package.

The Sushitech label turned 15 years old in 2020 and to celebrate this milestone Yossi Amoyal has put together the Fluere compilation across four discs, plus this extended fifth part, titled Fatum. Juan Atkins' remix of 'Someone' by Killer Loop takes up residence on the A-side of this three tracker, all swirling, warm pads and spiralling filters, the percussion almost leaning towards disco with its syncopated handclaps, although the overall effect is as shiny and futuristic as you would expect from this Detroit legend. Flip it over for Terry Brookes' 'Breaking Cycles', a calm spoken word narration providing a meditational mantra to accompany the chugging house foundations, full of gentle tease. 'Limits of Likeness' by MSL completes the package with restless electro machinations and shifting clouds of synth floating across its horizon. Sheer bliss all round.

Last summer saw youANDmedelivered his “Diva 2022” mix of "PPPPP" a track that would ignite dancefloors across Ibiza and become one of the smashes of the summer in the process. The label was always certain the record was a hit and the response that followed justified their faith.

Finally, Tel Aviv’s Yotam Avni turns out a remix that delivers shades of the pure old-school house with piano stabs sitting alongside deep chords before he puts his tougher-edged modern techno stamp onto it. Rhythm Cult is on a roll now returning with one of the most hyped tracks of 2022. This package delivers the goods with fresh remixes for 2023 from some of the best in the industry who are now added to the label's impressive roster.

Originally released on the Phono label in 1995/96 the 'Parts' series from Matthew Herbert are a much loved collection of house tracks that sound just as original and bold today as they did when they were first released. This series of 12's were part of an early wave of exploratory dance music that paved the way for the deep house that still works its magic on dance-floors in 2018 some 25 years later. The mix of Herbert's playfulness alongside expertly grooving production and unusual sounds makes this unique collection of work. The odd few tracks aside this is the first time that these releases have ever been repressed. All newly remastered for this reissue series, the releases include stone cold club classics such as 'Deeper', 'Take Me Back', 'Resident', 'People That Make the Music' and 'See You on Monday'.

Jessica Brankka makes her debut on Crosstown Rebels with new single ‘Musk’, joined by Audiojack and OMRI. on remix duties. Emerging from Brazil’s ever-evolving house music hotbed to make appearances at major venues across the globe, including Hï Ibiza this summer, DJ and producer Jessica Brankka is fast becoming an artist to keep an eye on. Debuting on Frau Blau alongside Floyd Lavine and racking up support from leading names in Solomun, Joris Voorn, Blond:ish and more, her outings via RADIANT. have only continued to help build and craft her growing sound. Stepping up for her most significant release to date, she joins the Crosstown Rebels family to open September with her new single ‘Musk’ - with remixes coming courtesy of Gruuv head honchos Audiojack and Tel Aviv’s OMRI.

Hooky, provocative vocals take hold from the off on ‘Musk’, with Brankka building via slick drum programming, vibrant stabs and sweeping melodies for an intensely catchy production shaped for all hours of the night. First up on remix duties are Crosstown regulars Audiojack, with their take introducing an abundance of additional energy via skippy percussion, zipping bassline grooves and swirling, off-kilter sonics, before launching into heady breakbeat territories. Following the release of the first volume of Music 4 Tesla last April, Kaba and Hyas (ex-residents of Le Sucre & Rinse FM) continue their musical exploration between rap and UKG/electronic music, going even further on volume 2.

While the influences already present on the first album are still present: UK Garage, Acid House, Ghetto House and 2step, Kaba and Hyas experiment with new sounds. Incisive flow is joined by more sung, almost r&b vocals (10 Machines, Facts, Coup du sort), new textures with crunchy sounds (Mood 4 A Classic), and sampling (Lick It).

The 7 tracks that make up "Music 4 Tesla Vol.2", including a featuring with Detroit trio HiTech (the latest signing to Omar-S's label), are a blend of pervasive house influences and bouncy basslines borrowed from the sounds of funk. Over the course of 20 minutes, they depict a captivating gradation of festive ambiences, proving once again that the marriage of rap and house is definitely made to last.

Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom imprint makes a triumphant return here with a remix package featuring Mathew Jonson, Silverlining, Maher Daniel and Sakro, all reworking cuts from his 2020 ‘All Shapes And Different Sizes’ LP. Across the past two decades the UK’s Matt Tolfrey has been at the forefront of the underground House and Techno scene, releasing material on many seminal labels in the industry such as REKIDS, Cocoon, Music For Freaks, Crosstown Rebels, mix compilations for fabric and Classic, and of course his very own Leftroom which returns here following its last vinyl release back in 2020 from Detroit’s Norm Talley and Ataxia.

Up first on remix duties is Canadian machine maestro Mathew Jonson who remixes ‘How It’s Gonna Be’ featuring Tim Fuller, offering up his signature twitchy synth work, robust analogue drums and cinematic leads running alongside the original’s hooky vocal lines. Maher Daniel steps up next to remix ‘Feel The Same’, opting for an intricate electro tinged drum workout, wavey subs and hypnotic vocal chants.

London’s Silverlining then reworks ‘Fantasy’ featuring Shaun J. Wright next, diving deeper via a skippy, swinging drum groove, airy dubbed out chords, snaking bass groove and soulful, intricately processed vocal licks. Driving weirdo techno, warm melodic acid and daring sound experiments - Killekill welcomes a new duo on board: SKEW & SATIRIST are Max Cooper and Gareth Williams who met in the Not- tingham, UK club scene in the early 00s, living together for a number of years, leading to an effec- tive collaboration.
Max learnt production from sitting and watching Gareth in the studio, Max helped show Gareth the way with his DJing. Both became successful in their solo projects, Max as a regular guest
on stages all over the world, Gareth starting a music technology business with partners such as Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva or Daniel Miller.
Over the years the musical collaboration between the two friends has continued in the background and they've finally found the time to bring it to fruition and start this project for their darker, more extreme and twisted techno which has been lying dormant over the years.

Greg Paulus joins forces with fellow Brooklynite Taylor Bense for a new Freerange EP showcasing their left field, raw house sounds across three original tracks plus a bonus Martinez Brothers edit.

With previous releases appearing on labels as diverse as Soul Clap, Let’s Play House, Ghostly International and Kompakt, the producer, DJ and trumpeter is perhaps best known for being one half of No Regular Play who have recorded LP’s and EP’s for Wolf & Lamb, Crew Love, and Let’s Play House. Never one to be confined to one genre, Greg takes influence from Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and underground house to form a unique sound primed for discerning dance floors. Taylor Bense is an in-house composer and producer at the highly regarded Hyperballad Studios in Brooklyn, where he works and records a wide spectrum of music for everything from high end commercial work to EP’s for Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap Records. The entire EP was recorded and produced at Hyperballad Studios over the past few years.

Title track Heat Make Sense wears its Prince inspiration on its sleeve with a hooky whistled tune, crunchy live bass fills and punchy, raw beats. Next up we have Switch which features Brooklyn MC’s Stimulus and Malik Work on vocal duties and Greg’s own trumpet adding top lines to the deep pads and rolling groove.

Marino takes us back to golden era jacking Chicago house of the 00’s but with Greg’s trumpet flourishes bringing a live, jazzy energy to the track. Fellow NYC mainstay Big $exy provides his trademark deep baritone vocal to give a little hip house flavour. Closing out the EP we have NYC’s Martinez Brothers providing an uptempo minimal edit of Do You Love Me, a track from Greg’s previous Freerange EP. The MB’s keep things rolling and stripped back for maximum club impact creating a useful DJ tool whilst allowing Greg’s musical and vocal parts to shine.

Juliet Mendoza's official debut EP after first being introduced to the world as a feature on Julio Bashmore's 2015 LP. Hot Creations welcomes Viot and Vitor Vinter as they make their label debut with ‘FMF’, featuring a remix from Bruno Furlan.

Brazilian-born pairing Viot and Vitor Vinter have both emerged as rising names to watch in the scene, capturing the attention of industry heavyweights like Joseph Capriati, Michael Bibi, Marco Carola and many more. Previously collaborating on SOSA’s imprint COCO, they now bring their latest offering ‘FMF’ to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ esteemed label Hot Creations, marking another milestone in their careers - accompanied by fellow Brazillian talent Bruno Furlan who returns to the label on remix duties.

With both artists favouring a freaky atmosphere, ‘FMF’ unveils deep, sultry vocals nestled over the top of an alluring acid bassline that drives the track forward. Bruno Furlan’s twist to the track injects a surge of high-octane energy with tumbling percussion and shadowy stabs, guaranteed to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

For his debut solo release on Not An Animal, label co-pilot Andy Bainbridge serves up a raw, late-night house dub, accompanied by sizzling remixes from Donald’s House & Komodo for good measure.

Up Too Much starts simply, evoking house classics of old. Dubby percussion sets the genre but don’t be fooled, the Buchla synth wobbles that form the track’s melody, delicately placed acid sprinkles and a vocal garnish A-typical to the host label bring the track squarely into the modern day to form a tough yet gentle roller.

A pairing whose renowned reputation has been built and shaped across an illustrious career, Polish duo Grzegorz Demiañczuk and Wojciech Tarañczuk, aka Catz’ n Dogz, have been serving up their own diverse and varied take on house for more than fifteen years. Founders of their own Pets Recordings imprint, in that time they have released on esteemed labels, from Diynamic to Defected, Glitterbox to Watergate and more, while playing at almost every major club and festival across the globe. Their fresh in-between sounds and knack for cooking up curious and impactful sounds have made them mainstays of the scene, and that run of stellar releases continues here with a debut appearance on Crosstown Rebels as they link with ZenSoFly for ‘Can’t Stand’ - with longstanding German favourite Robag Wruhme on remix duties.

Opener ‘Can’t Stand’ sees the pair reunite with vocalist ZenSoFly, a talent they’ve worked with on notable hits like ‘Wave.’ Her vocals bring soul and attitude over a tight, rubbery and sleazy house beat, underpinned with a heavy bassline - providing the sort of chunky cut to lock in a dancefloor and make it march in unison. Robag Wruhme has been a Pampa label mainstay and famously curveball producer for many years with his scintillating blend of minimalism, melody and unusual sound sources. That is the case again with this remix, a dark workout that hurries along on snappy drums, detuned vocals and scuzzed up, droning synths to ensure maximum impact.

The EP is closed out with ‘Wake Up’, a widescreen and atmospheric cut packed with detail. The bassline is taught, freaky vocals echo within the mix, and synths spray about to dramatic effect, delivering another full flavour house cut with a dark soul and futuristic designs.

Steel City Dance Discs presents the ‘Wonder’ EP from fast-rising Italian artist Matisa. Fresh and filled with spirit, Matisa kicks off the EP with the transcendent, IDM-meets-Bingo Beats energy of ‘Brilliantine’, where twisted modulations fuse in harmony with angelic abstract vocals. This EP represents a significant moment in Matisa’s musical journey, as she evokes a combination of discovering yourself through creative expression with losing yourself on the dancefloor.

Celebrating their 10th release, Tresydos presents a two-part special edition featuring artists that are already part of the family along with some new faces.

On this first part of the Number 10 release, Anderson is back with his signature sound giving a strong start to the EP. For A2, Tresydos welcomes Velvet Velour and his fresh take on house music. On the flip side, Babu also debuts on the label with “Luna” and its retro futuristic tones, followed by Penelope’s track “Gathering” which had already been released on Bandcamp and due to popular demand is now on vinyl format.
