Memento’s label honcho Idriss D is back at the production duties with
a mesmerising super single featuring a shattering remix by the
Norwegian infamous wonder known as Dj Sotofett.
“Lunatic” symbolises Idriss D natural inclination for an incessant
sonic exploration, which on this esoteric cur, has brought him to the
darkest and the most hectic jungle territories; drawing from the early
nineties British tradition but with a long sight into the contemporary
climate, these heavy rattling beats and scattered vocals will simply
leave you speechless.
On the flip side , Dj Sotofett is just condensed cutting edge music
technology wisdom; the straight deep beat and the charming arpeggios transform the original mayhem into a late night anthem.
The splendid picture on the release cover has been taken by Ismail
Zaidy of L4artiste, which is also responsible for the astonishing
video teaser, while the artwork has been as usual an graphic affair of Boogie.

Stereociti, revered japanese House producer, with 2 acclaimed albums on Mojuba joins Groovement, increasing the nipon family on the label. Reflexion EP is a very complete release, showcasing Stereociti's amazing composition skills. Eu Lembro' is a super irresistible intergalactic house journey and Wee hours', a dubby excursion that never ceases to grow til the groove comes in. Title track Reflexions' is a very elegant and hypnotic house cut that will make you dream about the perfect party. And to close in a perfect mood, Canc¸o es do vento sul' - a more broken tune - loops the journey into pure happiness and joy. A great record to listen or dance to.

At only 19 years old, French producer THEOS says that last year he decided to dedicate his life to music. Now he has scored his first vinyl EP, continuing Shall Not Fade's new Killer Cuts series that focuses on no-filler dancefloor oriented house music. There's more than a touch of French to the funky groove of We Miss The Crowd, featuring collabs from Denyl Brook, Cosmonection and Romeo Louisa.

Opening out the record, "Lie Machine" is a delicious warm-up for what is to come. The unstoppable bassline and disco guitar samples get your hips moving while vocal snatches get into your head and won't get out. The title track's sultry groove is similarly catchy, with the pulsing kick and deep bass melody evoking a nod to the deep tech sound of UK house music but panning synths adding that filter house edge, sweeping the listener on to "Keep Creating Your World". The hard pulse of this track is balanced with sweeping pads, ethereal and summery. Organic jazzy piano loops take centre stage in the sublime production.

Onto the B-side and three stellar collaborations with some more of the best France has to offer; "Jazzy Cruise" with Denyl Brook is skippy, upbeat day party gear, with classic noughties filter sounds that tease the ears. THEOS and Cosmonection work together on "Unusual Ego"; sweet fuzzy chords but an Ed Banger style melody keep the record pumping for the closer, "Spread Positivity" with Romeo Louisa. Cool and dance floor ready, the climax of the EP is full of nothing but good vibes.

Vienna-based producer and 303 maestro Tin Man returns to Acid Test for his first solo EP for the label in over 5 years. It's another impeccable outing of romantic acid variations, especially tailored for unforgettable dancefloor revelations.

Tin Man has been setting the pace for forward-looking acid lovers for close to two decades now, and on his 15th Acid Test appearance he takes the vibe back to early and proto-house roots, stripping back the musical elements while layering in the euphoria with four perfectly crafted slices of feelgood 303.

Opening track Hidden Acid already sounds like a long lost classic, with strings draped over bouncy acid and motorik drums, stretching out over nearly nine minutes, and beautifully capturing the feel of house music circa 1991. Swaying Acid comes in all propulsive, toms and congas setting the foundation for melodic acid lines to weave through your heart strings.

On the B Side, Running Acid is fully optimized for the autobahn fast lane - a gradual, slow-filtered acid meltdown that builds and releases in tandem with driving hats and vaporous pads that hang over the track like early morning mists. Wrapped Up Acid brings the EP to a fitting close, slowing the tempo for a low-key easy dance excursion par excellence - smooth yet spikey 303 riffs punctuate the chords that drift through with a hint of Badalamenti in the progression.

With the Hidden Acid EP Tin Man might hark back to more vintage times, but the emotive power is as strong as ever. The naivety of the ‘90s is instead replaced with a conviction behind the musical choices that brings even more weight to the heartwarming vibes. This is acid in some of the best shape it's ever been, enhanced and upgraded specifically for the dance.

Three of the hottest underground artists of the moment are in charge of a brand new Bread & Butter instalment, here in its sixth edition. Sunwaves' heroes Cosmjn, Giuliano Lomonte, and NuZau share this wax for a tasty EP fragrant like bread and smooth like butter.



Opening the dances, Romanian artist Cosmjn kicks things off nice and deep with a tight minimal roller called "Platzpark". An essential groove and a subtle low-end slowly let appear futuristic bells that will resonate throughout the whole piece into an unending vortex.



On the flip Berlin-based but Italian-born Giuliano Lomonte comes with one of his trademark jams where analogue, full-bodied drums meet spacey echoing stabs and gentle female vocal chops for a warm and cosy after-hours anthem.



Last but not least, Sunrise affiliate NuZau delivers a sharp and bouncy tune called "Last One". Even here, as the track progresses, a dried-out groove sees the rise of dreamy pads and flourishing synths for a proper "Last One" jam.

The latest offering from Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik label is a four tracker of house, deep and minimal goodness.

First up it's Luuk Van Dijk’s original mix of ‘Lose Control’, a rolling house track that does all the right things, in all the right places. 'Lose Control' is then remixed by label head Darius Syrossian for a vinyl only offering, taking things a little deeper and more hypnotic with lush pads, crisp synth stabs and a deep rumbling bassline.

Flip it over to find ‘Got Sum’. The original is a jackin minimal crossover which has an infectious groove. Last but not least, Germany’s Nick Beringer provides a darker, more minimal remix to close it out.

For almost a decade, Spain's Ramiro Lopez has established himself as one his country's leading proponents of techno, with strong releases across labels that include Suara, Intec, Octopus Recordings and Bedrock.

Following on 5 years after their exceptional debut collaboration 'The Gift The Curse', Atjazz & Jullian Gomes hit a home run with this incredible collection of audio artwork.

Their new album 'Big Bad Crazy' points out the broken state of our world, and on the flipside the ongoing struggle to make it through the pain. A truly inspirational & original work from these well respected creative's.

Part two of this two-part album sampler kicks off with 'Decoded' layering a dynamic and deep synth melody with echoing arps and blissed out guitar samples. 'Don Esquire' follows up twisting and turning vocal refrains amongst an emotionally charged concoction of synth stabs and cosmic bleeps.

On the flip side, 'Love Me' delves into more techno territory, resonating and reverberating elements round the depths of the mind, to induce a hypnotic state of awe. The final track 'Empty Paradise' evokes distant memories from the past, combining dusty drum samples, hazy piano melodies and those dreamlike vocals that echo off into the ether.

Here's to hoping that it's not another 5 years before Atjazz & Jullian Gomes choose to collaborate once more.

dj poolboi is back on hand to soothe the soul with the latest edition of our Classic Cuts series. The third volume of his poignant rarities collection sees the Austin native continue doing what he does best: capturing universally-resonant moods which reflect the human condition, finding peace in its uncertainty and changefulness. Expect delicate piano melodies, gentle, reverberating steel drum sounds, indiscernible vocals and introspective atmospheres that you can melt into. In tone, we file this one next to DJ Python and CiM.

Make Your Own Meaning continues to convey its unique techno message with a new statement of intent from label head Lurka. The artist has been busy of late and continues to be on a roll with another fascinating four tracker that genuinely serves up some original sounds and rhythms. 'Trip' gets things underway with organic percussive patterns stacked up over drilling bass to make for a prickly groove. 'Airlock' is similar but darker and heavier and 'Sick Flips' keeps the nimble feel going with dancing perc, rigid synths and scratchy sound effects all coalescing over broken drum patterns. Last of all is another dense, busy and multi-layered melange of tiny percussive sounds, synths and clipped rhythms that will make any floor move.

Mark Broom releases his ‘Fünfzig’ LP on Radio Slave’s Rekids this July.

Stretched across a double LP, ‘Fünfzig’ is a full-throttle display of Brooms’ funk-laden take on a wide range of electronic-inspired music, covering house, techno, disco, dub, electro, and beyond. Speaking of the LP, Broom states that “Fünfzig is a continuation of my previous releases for Rekids & displays my various styles of House, Techno & the bits in-between”.

‘Mover’ kicks off proceedings with swinging drums and chopped-up piano licks, moving into the hand-in-the-air, disco-inflected ‘We Gonna Dance’, featuring vocals from his daughter Ella Fleur. ‘Stark’ takes inspiration from soundsystem culture, bringing cavernous reverbs atop a monstrous bass while siren-esque leads ring throughout.

Opening the B-side, ‘Let’s Roll’ sees Broom head into full-blown techno territory, as crunching bass and fierce drums collide with a series of stabs and whistles, a theme continued in the no-nonsense steamroller ‘EFX’. ‘Dub Me Good’ closes the B-side with a heady dose of FX-drenched outboard trickery as mammoth drum hits rocket around a languid bassline.

‘Machine’ opens the second disc with fluttering synthesis and robust, dramatic drums for a pounding affair, followed by the bright and squelchy ‘Memories’ which works its way through emotive pads and crisp drums before ‘Lovers Rock’ lowers the tempo, bringing swirly atmospherics amongst machine-driven patterns. The final side of vinyl sees Broom hit the gas pedal with ‘Living For Ya’, ‘The 114’, and ‘What To Do’, delivering a raucous finalé of sample-driven, barn-storming disco pumpers.

With appearances on legendary imprints such as Robert Hood’s M-Plant, Warp Records, Pure Plastic, Bpitch Control, and of course Rekids, Broom is one of the UK’s foremost techno luminaries. Alongside contemporaries such as Ben Sims, Luke Slater, Surgeon, and James Ruskin, with collaborations under the Fear Ratio with the latter counted as favourites amongst fans, Broom has flown the flag for UK techno for decades. Delivering one of his most accomplished collections of work to date on ‘Fünfzig’, his return to Radio Slave’s vital Rekids imprint showing an artist whose best work is far from behind him.

Bristol-based DJ and producer GotSome has been on an upward trajectory within the global electronic music scene since making his debut in 2014, releasing genre-bending material via labels including Ultra, Armada, Nervous and Defected, whilst collaborating with a string of notable names including AC Slater through to Jack Beats, and delivering remixes for the likes of Basement Jaxx, Kenny Dope and Roisin Murphy.

Following the release of ‘Nomad Chat’ on Toolroom, he now returns to the label alongside vocalist Clementine to deliver his latest single, ‘Caught In Your Rhythm’ on a two track vinyl exclusive package.

Two productions combining uplifting melodies, slick bassline sequences and sensual drums alongside Clementine’s infectious and powerful vocals, ‘Caught In Your Rhythm’ reveals an up-front, peak-time cut from the ever-impressing UK talent and marks an impressive return to Toolroom in the process.

Chicago mainstay Mark Grusane partners up with Eric Schwab of metro Detroit to co-produce five diverse tracks that channel some of their Midwest dancefloor influences. The pair developed the tracks over several studio sessions during a Chicago winter, combining their respective sonic inspirations with assorted gear, sounds and samples that they each brought together.

The A1 is a cheeky club house track with an upbeat bassline, bouncing synth stabs, looping vocals by Amiruz, and a touch of 303. On A2 a driving beat rides over a wonky bass loop, filtered percussion layers, and dialogue snippets from a 70’s crime flick. On the flip, B1 layers 303 basslines and bleeps, spacey atmospheric sounds, and monotonous vocal clips, fusing 80’s synth music and mid-90’s electro. B2 is a relaxed deep electro cut, with 808 rhythms, dissonant synth pads and basslines, and the voice of Mark Grusane. B3 delivers a house jam with a chunky bassline, drum machine workouts, and percussive vocal samples. Whether you’re looking for sunny house cuts or late night freak jams, this record has something for everyone.

Julian is a real studio wizard. The 7th Eliptic release, Peach In Chaos LP, is his much anticipated debut LP. It finds him explore rhythms that are imbued with all manner of late night motifs. Deft pads, wonky samples, chunky techno kicks and filtered loops all bring off beat charm and curious character to each and every track.

On A side, the bleep-heavy 'Peace In Chaos' stands out from the very first kick as a dance floor track, it spans across the full spectrum with the psychedelic bass and crunchy '90s techno groove. On the flip, Julian explores a deeper territory, with some twitchy samples and nagging groove, on the minimalistic - but no less fluid or mind-altering - 'Joaca'.

'Just Be' has a more rugged groove with slippery shakers and kinked percussions, tough rolling minimal aimed squarely at the main room at peak time, the dense bass pulsations of the track compliment the mood. 'Nightzzz' takes things into moodier territory with a broad sweep of keys spelling out an eerie mood around a break beat. A complete journey on B side.

Get ready for more swing-fuelled hypnotic groove business on C side, featuring the late night bass driven bump of 'Say Cheese At The Radio', that it gets more heady, with swirling pads circling round the vocal and nimble hits.

With 'Day-Z', Julian is diving deep into murkier waters via the creepy electronics, foreboding chords and heavy bass line, hypnotic enough for perfect dance floor dynamics. Finally, go deep into the afterhours on the atmospheric and sensual mood of 'A Matter Of Choice'.

Forward thinking live music odyssey Anyma has become the latest addition to the Afterlife musical roster.

The brainchild of Tale Of Us’ Matteo Milleri, Anyma is an expedition into the outer realms of technology and sound, culminating with the release of debut album GENESYS later in the year.

A pioneering musical concept, Anyma is a self-generated consciousness, coding itself from data clouds and presenting its digital persona through art. The boundary-pushing, multidisciplinary phenomenon blends computer-generated environments with real-life, blurring the lines between physical and digital worlds through state-of-the-art technology, music production and design.

“Anyma is my creative self-expression, blending music, art and immersive realities to explore the next phase in the realm of consciousness,” Matteo Milleri explains. “Physical and digital creations merge to become a singular enlightening field of experience: Genesys” - he goes on to add.

The enigmatic journey begins with the debut EP ‘Sentient’, a dramatic four part soundscape that will set the tone for what’s to come from Anyma, out 4th June on Afterlife, with an NFT
digital art piece dropping shortly thereafter.

Utilising the immense possibilities of Extended Reality, Anyma creates a universal language all of its own, bringing the artist and the audience closer and blurring the boundaries between real and surreal. The result is an interactive space that formulates itself as a journey of discovery, understanding human expressivity and creativity through the analysis of souls and emotions.

Anyma will be brought to life via collaboration with Builders Club, the award-winning creative production company specialising in film, 3D motion and interactive storytelling, who will dissect and develop the visual identity of the voyage to come.

A never-before-seen creative concept, Anyma is set to revolutionise notions of music and art.

This September sees the fourth release from the label Either. Label founder Jamie Clarke is behind the title track ‘Angor Animi feat. Emdee’ and a second track featuring Emdee, the third track is a remix of the title track from Romania’s Barac.

Either is built on Clarke’s sure feel for early hours dance floor tunes. The releases to date are enriched by remixes from Pablo Mateo, Ryan Crosson, Silverliining…

On Clarke’s title track Emdee’s vocals carry us along over squelchy acid bass, gritty stab lines, saturated drums and tribal-tinged percussion. On track 2 ‘Extraction’ Clarke picks up the journey theme. Here the mood brightens and trips-out, Emdee’s chanting vocal carry us over sonorous organs, swinging rhythms. Track 3 returns to the dynamically processed elements of the title track, Romanian minimal maestro and Moment Records Boss Barac sweeps us into a twelve-minute rushing tide of organic drums and swaying subs.

Kharkiv label Trance Pandemic did not have to wait long for the announcement of the next release and already in september plans to release a new work Komponente and Kurilo, known for their love of trance and acid. The album "Lord Of Destruction", consisting of four dashing tracks, justifies the name with its energy, which quickly brings to consciousness from summer drowsiness.


"Lord Of Destruction", which opens the pawn - the real master of
destruction, an extraordinary track, which is designed to conquer the
dance floor with its non-linear bass lines and smooth pedal
arrangements, including the singing of Elina Elian and the voice of
Kurilo. "Magnifico" is a mysterious trance xenomorph. The multifaceted "Etat" starts from a state of ecstatic joy, and then carries to the depths of the subconscious. "Oblivion" is an acid forgetting of this record, a message in which vocal samples and acid stuffing, seasoned with good bleep techno are intertwined.

Alec Falconer & Harry Wills debut their first full EP under their Snoozin’ B alias. The backseat is free - come take a ride on the snooze cruise.

Uncanny label from Juliche Hernandez present his first vinyl only release.

On 25th August 1975, Father Yod took the Source Family to the top of a cliff on the eastern shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Despite having no previous airsports experience, he leapt off a 1300 ft cliff using a hang glider and he crash landed on the beach below.

The Source Family rejected all forms of conventional medicine; Father Yod died from his injuries nine hours later, surrounded by The Source Family.

"Never 4get EP", an EP of house tracks from KERAW (Bruce Vanderro & Lucas Moinet) made at their Studio 937 in Paris. For this release, they wanted to give back the original color of the traditional deep house sound from New Jersey with four essential-to-release tracks of theirs. "Never 4get About The Second Vibe" pays tribute to the 90's deep chords tradition with a proper hardcore deep house second vibe. On the other hand, "Until The End Of The Night" brings a deep & introspective ballad theme to the record, while "50%" and "Jersey Bass" ensure the resurrection of the early 90's traditional New Jersey sound. All tracks have been composed, recorded and produced at Studio 937 with yesterday's and today's hardware equipment. Matter of fact, Keraw never wants to forget the NY sound of deep house music foundations.

KERAW is a deep house production duo made by Lucas Moinet (Groove Boys Project) and Bruce Vanderro (aka Rawaï). This production team is the fusion between an instrumentalist and a beat maker, and became a common ground project for paying tribute to the early 90's US House sound. Their production process is mainly hardware based with an full analog recording studio and old school recording methods. Through their record collection, Lucas & Bruce fell for the NY deep house sound and co-founded the Studio 937 in 2018 as a place to create, experiment and record their music. Are you feeling it? For Number 22 we’ve got Eric OS, and babe this one ain’t flat. The adept Swede’s musical musings hit us right in the sweet-spot from beat numero uno, and it became all too obvious we had to get this one into your orbit. Sustaining the impeccable vibes from his fledgling yet extremely popular Space Trace 001 and 002 records, Eric OS has brought the world yet more blissed-out, iconic house, straight from the void.

Let’s dive in. The EP begins with ‘In Dimensions’, an acid-tinged, elevated pumper, sprinkled with acute vox and mysteriously delightful key progressions. Next up is the aptly named ‘Windowbreaker’, as you may need to reinforce your frames and shoe soles whilst stepping about to this one. Elements of early Mosca and Bashmore infuse and obsequiously seep through the monolithic percussion, with the neatness and definition of an old hand. The B Side begins with the title track, ‘From The Void’, shifting the momentum towards the prog domain whilst maintaining synchronicity within the shuffling house drums and synth wizardry. Closing the record we have ‘Connexion’, completing Eric OS’ concoction of grand design. The atmospheric elegance waxes and wanes, breathing fresh air into your mind and cloaking the world once more in unequivocal house music.

LOCUS unveil the second instalment in their VA series ‘LOCUS Trax’ with fresh material from Mathijs Smit, LaRosa, BODJ, and Nolga.

Continuing to quickly grow as one of the most-loved emerging labels in the game, LOCUS looks set to go from strength-to-strength throughout the remainder of 2022 as the FUSE family builds yet another label offering quality and consistent material from across the house sphere. Having launched their new various artist series LOCUS Trax earlier this year, TBC welcomes the arrival of the sophomore offering with four fresh productions as Groningen’s Mathijs Smit, Brooklyn’s LaRosa, Athens’ BODJ and Manchester’s Nolga all make label debuts.

Mathijs Smit’s ‘Green Hill’ is a slinking cut guided primed for peak time fun as slinking acid tinged low-ends meet playful samples and sweeping pads, while ‘Amelia’s Groove’ sees LaRosa work shuffling drums amongst warped vocals and rich melodies. Next, BODJ veers towards spacey sythns and colourful electronic motifs across ‘Back To Party City’, before Nolga lays down woozy chords on top of a no-nonsense bassline to close the show.

For it's 46th outing, Klasse Wrecks recruits the Brooklyn based producer Gee Dee to it's ranks. Gee Dee aka Greg Droggitis turns in a wonderful and fully fledged collection of tracks that burst to the brim with atmosphere and sunny vibrations. True to the label's ethos, the music is as always, hard to pin down under one specific genre but instead slyly calls on various classic House, Electro and Acid tropes. The overall sound is one that is both universal and transcendent, feeling familiar but still surprising. 'Dream In Colour' is indeed an apt title for the EP as it spans the musical spectrum and is a lucid and vivid trip into the imagination of this new and exciting producer.

Extracting a rich sense of emotion from an evolving analogue set-up, Hammer follows up his previous FMB outings Dahlia and C-Space with a similar tone and sound palette as he lays out a new EP with 3 tracks that capture the Feel My Bicep sound perfectly, striking the balance between delicate melody and power with aplomb. This EP follows what has been a heavy 2019 gig schedule, with stand out sets at many top festivals and clubs such as Glastonbury, Panorama Bar and Parklife, along with both an Australian and Indian tour under his belt. The lead track ‘Parabola’ manifested as a slow burning percussive experiment that, as Hammer explains, ‘quickly got fired up by an extra 10bpm for the dance floor effect, turning itself into an acid led epic’ and as a consequence accidentally becoming the A1 at the same time. ‘Parabola’ is followed by ‘Panoptic’ and ‘Entropy’; all three track names inspired by his recent love for physics podcasts. He describes how ‘they are based around types of curvatures and levels of order that, in my head, are the visualisation of the 3 tracks inside workings; the engine room of the time machine.’ All three tracks were created with Hammer’s much loved Yamaha CS1-X, ‘a spaceship in its own right’, he explains. ‘A Xoxbox and a Roland SH-2 did the rest of the hard work. Time to enter the twilight zone with this one’! Bicep continue to add substance to what has now become a distinctive and singular label with this new 12" courtesy of their long term friend and blog contributor Hammer. It launched the band to huge critical and commercial success, nominated for The Mercury Prize and a Brit Award. The LP is now reissued for its 15th Anniversary on silver vinyl. Aeroplane"s remix of Friendly Fires" "Paris" has been out of print on vinyl for over a decade. A cover more than a remix, their version of Friendly Fires" first big single was all over the radio waves when it was first released, surely due to its sweet female vocal provided by Au Revior Simone. What can be said about Joey Beltram’s ‘Energy Flash’ that hasn’t be said already! The track still gets rinsed, week in, week out, across radio stations, clubs and festivals, testimony to the sheer importance of this techno classic.

Released originally in 1990 on the R&S Records label, ‘Beltram Vol. 1’ included the aforementioned ‘Energy Flash’, alongside three equally ground-breaking dance tracks that possibly get overshadowed by the big lead track. But tracks like ‘Subsonic Bass’ broke the mould and went on to influence a raft of rave and drum ‘n’ bass tunes, thanks in part to its use of the now legendary ‘hoover’ bass sound. The sinister acid of ‘Jazz 3033’ still sounds as fresh today as it did 33 years ago, and the menacingly titled ‘Psycho Bass’ reveals the EP’s most passive moment, as its solid breakbeat cuts through ethereal tones and chugging synths.

‘Beltram Volume 1’ has been remastered by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering, and the release comes in an updated sleeve, faithfully recreating the 1990 packaging.

Little Fritter returns to Hot Creations, delivering an energetic pair of house cuts across ‘My People’. Australian DJ/producer Little Fritter is on a roll of late, with the boisterous talent and Need2Freak boss serving up high-octane originals and remixes via Club Bad, elrow, Sola, &Friends and Thick As Thieves across a highly productive 2022. A previous signee to the label in August of 2020, April sees the Gold Coast artist return to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ iconic Hot Creations imprint with his two-track EP, ‘My People’.

Australian talent Retza makes a welcome return to YokoO’s recently-launched Satya label this October with the Feel EP. The four-tracker marks the imprint’s second release of the year, after the Basics VA in April.

International appearances at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, CHI WOW WAH TOWN and Let Them Eat Cake have brought his sound to global audiences, laying the foundation for a stellar career ahead.

With the build up to the highly anticipated debut album for both Ruede Hagelstein and Watergate Records nearing it's release date, we have put together an advanced release of the original Ruede track 'Soul Dynamic' including some stunning remixes to get you ready. With the original, Ruede does what he does best and administers a big melodic club hit ripe with canorous shimmers and a warm rolling sub bass bolstered by crisp percussion grooves and a vocal persistently muttering 'Soul Dynamic'. This alone should be enough, but we didn't stop there. Up first on remix duties, and without any introduction is the legendary Kenny Larkin. Coming off his massive remix of La Fleur on Watergate last year, he takes the same approach and lays out a long, tracky version of the original, building tension over the twelve minutes with ghostly rhodes riffs and eerie strings. Possibly the heaviest of the all the remixes is from Fur Coat as they provide us with a dark, strobe light infused adaptation packed with huge bass stabs and spectral tones. Finally, we have another whose name needs no introduction, Douglas Greed. With his version of 'Soul Dynamic' he takes the most playful approach of the three remixes by creating a hypnotic, looping lead laid over earthy percussive lines and a sweltering wash of keys. No matter what you're looking for, one of these will do the trick. It's not so much which one to play, but which one to play first.


The compilation "Get Together" enters a new round and gathers four artists to take a journey into electronic music together again. Maxie König opens the gathering with warm basses and sparkling
chords in her track "TenTen".

The unmistakable groove immediately carries us away and drives us straight onto the dance floor, where the no less deep track "Dezest" by Dip resounds through the speakers. Here we float on the smooth strings of the recurring sound waves, which one can hardly resist. Ana Antonova takes up this beautiful flow in her fascinating track "Naked Neighbour" and adds jazzy melodic elements that are interwoven with original sounds to create a fabulous, versatile sound story.

Finally, Cie picks up the bass and groove again and reflects the wonderful atmosphere of this gathering with the harmonic strings in "Haus Im Turm", making you want to put this record on „again“ and „again“.

Cocoon Recordings has never been shy about pitching curve balls to the crowd. It also has an instinct for knowing what we want, even before we do! So here we are, with both these concepts in full effect in the form of International Anything’s „Running in the Underwood“. Markus Nikolai and Ole Schulte’s fledgling project has already featured on both Cocoon and Nikolai’s ubiquitous Perlon imprint and the Frankfurt/Berlin axis represented by these two heavyweight labels is perfectly encapsulated in this ‘summer anthem in the making’.

Just like the recent „Disco Rout“ remix package, „Running in the Underwood“ channels the vibe of the early 2000s, one of the most creative and influential periods in German electronic dance music where some of the most influential genres momentarily converged. This release not only recaptures that moment but emboldens it with state of the art technology that lifts it to another level. The low slung, smoldering intro suggests producers supremely confident in what lies ahead. The track creates intensity and momentum with sparse machine funk allowing maximum space for the dusty electronics to perform their elegant gymnastics while the hypnotic, cut-up dada logic of the vocals worm their way into your mind.

It’s a pleasure to welcome back the iconic Michael Mayer on remix duties, who turns in a peak time bomb with a significant amount of bounce to the ounce. Ring shifting electro beats slowly deconstruct into a booming 4/4 rhythm that carry the nervous staccato synths and surgically dissected vocal snippets forward. Mayer also let’s fly with a rampaging old school bass line that leads in and out of the swirling breakdowns for maximum dancefloor pressure. Safe to say it’s an entirely different trip that perfectly compliments the original, taking it into uncharted and totally unrestrained territory.

„See Where You Are“ is another song based groove utilizing a loose, swaggering bass riff designed to disorientate and disrupt. Disobedient synth lines trip the light fantastic while the monotone vocals speak the language of the dance floor, creating a classic interplay between rhyme and rhythm. Over time, everything crystallizes into a more solid arrangement giving the track a deeper, more self-reflective atmosphere through its lavish analogue instrumentation. It’s a point that shouldn’t be overlooked, scratch below the obvious dance floor appeal of International Anything and you’ll find masterful sonic sculptures at work.

After a long hibernation, MUZI cartel is back from the jungle, smuggling another series of gems your way, MUZI004. For their fourth instalment, they went to Southern Europe’s Portugal region, presenting you the “Realm EP” by Rowan & Gear, including a remix by Romanian public treasure Cosmjn. Let’s dive straight into Realm, the title song, carrying a smooth buildup working towards that moving groove, just with the right amount of stabs to make this a certified addition to your record collection. Moving on to “Basic Human Relation”, we have this tease making you wonder what’s coming further on. When the break hits, spacial sounds layered onto each other gives us feelings of hope and standing on a beach without worries. To top things off, we have Cosmjn’s take on the title track. “Realm (Cosmjn remix)” is a 9-minutes showcase on how a consistent bassline complementing even more consistent drums never disappoints. Warm yet subtle stabs carry you easily across the spectrum.
