How much do you really know about Nina Kraviz She's a Russian techno DJ, an accomplished producer, one of dance music's breakthrough names of the last five years. True enough, but there's so much more to her story than that. She's one of electronic music's most interesting characters, someone who has stuck to her musical guns since day one, someone who has wide-ranging roots that run deep in the past, yet she's also the embodiment of the future. Her signature sound is a raw blend of house and techno with a very acidic feel. If that feels very now, Kraviz has a lot to do with it, which is why she was asked to mix the latest instalment of !K7's landmark 'DJ Kicks' series. The result is up there with the best in the 'DJ Kicks' back catalogue. It's a sublimely crafted set, deep and trippy, like you've tuned into a mysterious pirate radio station in the dead of the night or stumbled across a stream from an illegal party. On the flip things get even stronger with the proto-house banger 'Girl Like You' a sick soulful number with with a biggest swinging kick drum I have ever heard, both proper club material.

If your not a rare soul or disco collector Bobby's name might not be a name your familiar with but as one of the founder members of Lafayette Afro Rock Band you will have experienced his music and influence which is far reaching.

Snips is the founder of Barbershop Records and co founder of Livin' Proof, with over 15 years experience as one of Londons most prolific DJs and over 10 years worth of production credits across Hip Hops underground. 2018 has seen Snips emerge as a budding solo artist, fusing the production styles of Hip Hop, House, Soul and Funk in the same fashion as he is known to do behind the turntables.

With his debut album "The Barbershop" making waves on both sides of the Atlantic, garnering support from a cross genre selection of heavyweights such as Karizma, Benji B, Eli Escobar, House Shoes, J Rocc and Henry Wu, Snips returns on his own label Barbershop Records with his first independent release "London Livin'". The EP draws on a range of influences including Soulful House, Jazz Funk, Nu Disco, Neo Soul, RnB & Hip Hop and features some of Londons finest emerging artists including Vocalist Emmavie, Spoken word artist William Stowe and North London rapper Awate.

In 1982, a group of friends deep into post-punk, jazz and dub got together in Mad Professor's studio and lay down their youthful interpretation of a NYC disco cut. Their unique take included trombone, vibraphone, piano, and an ital dose of tape delay. They called the song Trouble and released two versions (vocal and dub) on their friend Tony McDermott's !Drum! label with artwork inspired by Russian Constructivism. TIP!

Harlem's legendary Disco label Queen Constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades.

One of many labels operating under the equally legendary P&P family of imprints Land Of Hits was operated by one Peter Brown, a truly colossal figure in NYC's music scene, it's catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. Covering a wide range of styles including Gospel, early Rap and Disco the label's output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected DJ's and selectors across the globe. Mistafide's colossal old-school rap behemoth 'Equidity Funk' has long been a record that makes the serious collectors salivate and is now here in full 12" form repress, too legit to quit.

Not much is known about the crew behind 'Mistafide', their government names are listed online but this is the only record they put out using this name. Suffice to say, this has no impact on the fury and style with which the MC's deliver their raps, backed with the studio nous of impresario Peter Brown. Across 12 minutes 'Equdity Funk' is a slamming Disco-rap monster, interpolating elements of the evergreen B-boy jam 'Theme From SWAT' it sounds like everyone just got into the studio and went for it. In the style of the times this is the real hip-hop flavour, a live band, some MC's and some death defying bars being dropped, proper old school. A truly rare recording, 'Equidity Funk' has been one of those records fans of the Disco-rap era have been fiending for for decades - often commanding prices over the $1000 mark you can now grab this slice of essential NYC street Funk.

Announcing his forthcoming BBE album 'Taste of Chicago', edit kingpin and DJ par excellence Jamie 3:26 drops a 12' comprising two of his most highly prized cuts. At the top of many a vinyl digger's wish-list since its highly limited white label release in 2010, the Jamie 3:26 edit of Calendar's 1977 disco stepper 'Comin' On Strong' has become the stuf of legend, played to devastating efect by Theo Parrish among others over recent years. On the fip, Jamie 3:26 heads into classic Chicago House territory with a fery reworking of impossible-to-fnd Braxton Holmes banger 'Stomps & Shouts', taken from his mythical 'Cabrini-Greens and Cornbread' project. A scintillating teaser of what's to come later this year when BBE release 'Taste Of Chicago', a full album's worth of Jamie's incredible edits, this 12' is surely a must have for House and Disco players the world over.

Smoove & Turrell's second single outing from their album 'Mount Pleasant' is a double helping of up-tempo dancers for those that like to shake it...

Never one's to stop experimenting and pushing their musical boundaries, this single is a perfect example of exactly that, featuring two tracks with massively contrasting styles but with a quality of song writing and production that these guys have got down to a fine art in their years together.

'I Feel Alive' is a tasty electro disco cut inspired by a hedonistic night in Paris. It's the perfect blend of Smoove's trademark groovy productions with Turrell's sweet tones and honest relatable lyricism. Keys man - Mike Porter gets a chance to engage the arpeggiator function on his synth collection as he and the rest of the band create a host of spacey sounds to form the backdrop of this catchy number.

On the B side is 'Mr Hyde' - a beast of a track that opens with energetic live drums and a memorable guitar riff that form the backbone of a rocking tune that sees John Turrell manically singing through a distortion effect delivering the lines "I'm Jekyll and baby you need to hide" in a suitably menacing style...

Fusing garage rock, psyche, northern soul and pop sensibilities it's a Frankenstein's monster of a track that works on multiple levels with the lyrical subject matter.

Hell Yeah’s summer will be all about Passages, a brand new and fantastic album from Quiroga that shows off his unique take on the Neapolitan sound. It is a soothing mix of real musicianship, laid back funk, soul and jazz stylings that wash over you, fill your heart with warmth and take you to a faraway beach where all your worries melt into the ether.

It is 11 years since Walter Del Vecchio’s last album on Cactus Island Recordings and since then he has put out a steady stream of sublime EPs on the likes of his own Really Swing as well as, of course, Hell Yeah. Label boss Marco calls him “a delicate musician” and it’s true that his deft sound is filled with beauty and detail.

A lot of attention is currently on his native Naples scene, but Quiroga doesn’t fit with the usual narrative thanks to his left of centre take on the breezy Mediterranean sounds of the city. This new album features six brand new cuts as well as six of his favourites that have previously been put out Really Swing, and is a fantastic showcase of his sound, with two of the tracks already getting big support from Italian ensemble 291out.

Gentle groove undulations and refrained vocal euphoria define opener Got Your Love, while fat bass twangs and nodding keys light up the jazzy-soul-funk fusion that is Martinica Feelings. Things get even more horizontal and romantic on The Zoist, with its steamy female coos and delicate keys, and North Hollywood Witches is a glorious bit of slow motion boogie with squelching bass and effervescing keys.

Elsewhere there are the lazy tumbles of Non Dire Notte, which is awash with acid gurgles, while glistening dreamscapes like Citto Di Mare shuffle on lush live drums and new age melodies. There are hippie vibes on Luzhin Defence which evokes sun beams breaking through the clouds, then Chiaia Sunset will melt your heart with its diffuse keys and rippling rhythms and ambient closer Bava casts you adrift into the clouds.

With many other gems along the way, this a perfect summer album that will temporarily rid you of whatever problems you may have.

Do yourself a favour and dance across the floor when listening to the new Jacob Korn-record, aptly titled Son Of GX. The music is heavily based on the good old Yamaha Electone Organ. The home organ for the world's gentlemen was modified by Jacob himself and is now an integral part of his studio. As you'll hear it on the EP, it injects a decent dose of fun into Jacob's vision of House music. At least, you will instantly notice that when listening to Singlefinger Chord, a track that conquers the floor with its Disco elements. Rumours say that Jacob's cat toddled on his poor man's Yamaha CS80 when producing Cats On Organs. If that's true, the cat provided an irresistible hook to an already slamming, Italo-inspired track. Son Of GX is every bit as compelling as the first two tracks with its synth trumpet glory while the slighty darker Fun Blocks sustains us with heavy percussion works straight out of the Yamaha Electone Organ. Roy Davis, Jr.'s Undaground Therapy Muzik label relaunches after almost 20 years with Al Zanders' Guidance EP. Al Zanders approach to his first EP of 2018 is as precise as it is whimsical. Featuring 4 tracks showing Zanders sheer versatile when it comes to making music. Opened by piano-percussion track Martha's Revenge which is made so clearly for dance floors, followed by Television, a chance for a closed- eyes boogie be it on a dance floor in the middle of a set, or on the sofa at home. On the b-side, Likes For Cash's comedic title is met in contrast with a piercing synth top-line and stripped back drums, with just enough of a bassline to sit in-between the drums and synths. Closing the EP is Guidance, a reflective and a chance for the EP to close as well as it would close a dance floor when the lights come on at the end of the night.

Launched in 1996 by Roy Davis Jr. & Odell Braziel, Undaground Therapy Muzik born out of Chicago was a label that went on to help shape artists such as Seth Troxler & Daft Punk amongst many other acclaimed DJs & Producers during their early years and released some of Paul Johnson & Eddie Fowlkes earliest releases. The label championed young and new talent from around the world within House & Disco music and remains home to some of Roy Davis Jr.'s most well known records today. Putting his deft touch on tracks from artists as varied as Ennio Morricone and Todd Terje to Jamiroquai, Deetron's remixes have become standalone hits in their own right.
With more than 200 remixes to his name since his first remix was released in 2000, Deetron takes stock and cherry-picks from his vast discography to present Re-creation (Remixes Compiled) for Character 007. A collector's collection from past to present, the compilation stretches across his body of work from 2003 to 2017 and features some of Deetron's very best.

As a special bonus, the compilation also includes more than a handful of exclusive new versions, edits and instrumentals that Deetron has been using as secret weapons in his DJ sets. These are now released for the first time for all to enjoy.

Re-creation (Remixes Compiled) will be released on both digital and vinyl. The double-pack vinyl release features Deetron's personal landmark releases on sides A/B, while the C/D sides feature exclusive or previously unreleased edits/versions.

Emotional Response again teams up with Meda Fury and Sad City to present an EP of remixes from the acclaimed debut album, Shapes In Formation. Enlisting a killer tag-team of DJ Nature, HOLOVR and Herron to bring their own retakes of Gary Caruth's music, arrives with justified anticipation.

The success of Sad City's debut opus was a deserved conclusion to a journey across third world ambient, found sound samples and jazz-touched beats. All are reworked and expanded here while retaining the artist's all encompassing atmospheric oeuvre.

First Milo Johnson dons his DJ Nature moniker for two mixes of Steady Jam. The stand out of the album for many, it seemed right to request Milo's skills to push the sample-based loops to a deep dance floor. Rolling congas, skipping hats and the teasing, soulful melodies come together to work their magic. Vocal and Dub are crafted and cut as one long-form take for the more adventurous, this is dub-disco for the today's real (to reel) entertainers.

Side two is given over to rising names in HOLOVR and Herron. With releases on Opal Tapes, Further and Firecracker Recordings, Jimmy Billingham 303-infused sound is perfect in reshaping Caruth's trip that is Pace, Movements I-IV. Building slowly with trademark 909 meets acid, kick eventually arrives to take the remix beyond head nodding to swinging minds and hearts.

The EP closes with a perfect dismantle and rebuild by Manchester's Herron. A man of talents, Sam Lewis is pushing his City's cultural landscape via the Soup Kitchen venue, co-running the on-point Meandyou Records, while still having time to record solo as Herron and for Hinge Finger as one half of CO/R, alongside label head Joy Orbison. The glitch beats, drone synthesis and orchestral vocal snatches of Rain fuse and percolate in the mind's eye. Sad City. Reshaped in transformations.

Latest WOLF recruit, Al Zanders steps up for a killer debut EP.

The seventh EP on Frits Wentinks Bobby Donny label brings together some known and unknown producers. The original production is by Low End Activist, someone who has spent the last 15 years in Berlin, Bristol and Brighton, no doubt picking up parts of the musical styles of those cities as he goes.

It features London Grime MC Trim, an original member of Roll Deep and an artist signed to James Blake's 1-800 label. The remixes comes from Frits himself as well as Cassius Select, who has recently released on UTTU and Herbert's Accidental.

Park End is a naughty tune with garage tinged drums slipping and sliding beneath menacing rhymes from Trim.

Paranoid synth sounds and an oscillating low end speak of late night urban mischief and it's the sort of characterful tune to stand out in any set.

Cassius Select reconfigures the tune as a much more dark and experimental number with a heavy bottom end and huge sub bass that totally envelops you.
Frits then goes for a more mellow and melodic version, with lazy drums and wilting chords as rainy keys fall from above. It glows like street lights at night and closes out an EP with real attitude.

On this debut offering the pair have worked with LA's broken beat visionary Marc De Clive-Lowe, legendary emcees John Robinson and Kev Brown, dazzling new vocal and production talent from South Africa - Sio, Melo B Jones, Daev Martian and White Nite to name but a few.

This diverse list of guests flex their dexterity allowing the album to shift easily between ballads and more up-tempo beats effortlessly. Punctuated with spacey interludes, the resulting twelve tracks glisten with sumptuous textures, swelling harmonies and organic instrumentation. 'From a lost Australian electronic soul gem, to a cult classic: Shahara-Ja's 'I'm An Arabian Knight' has gained much momentum since it's 2017 reissue, so much so that the Egyptian Lover reached out to the label proclaiming he'd do a remix. The electro innovator who the original release appears to be highly inspired by seemed like a perfect fit for this sleazy late Night groover. The result is 3 fresh mixes using elements of the original session tapes and the perfect touch of the Egyptian Lover's signature 808'

Leonid Nevermind is back with a new sophisticated detroit house EP. 4 groovy soulful tracks with storytelling titles, hazy vocal elements, slapping funky basslines and bluesy piano patterns enswathing with mysterious chords and thrilling lucid melodies.

After the success of the Joe Cleen EP, Jazz Cabbage returns in purple with a special new draft in the team: Daisuke Kondo from Okayama - Japan. After spending his teenage years playing bass in local psychedelic bands, Daisuke finds his calling through Detroit soulful house, and delivers here a well rounded punchy deep house EP with distinctive Jazzy harmonies & percussions.
On the flip is french broken beat Don Kaffe Crème doing what he does best... Follow the Cabbage!

here's a bit of a story to Side A. In 1996, JD Twitch released a 12" by Manchester's Bryn Jones aka Muslimgauze on his then label Pi Recordings. He also, along with a friend, arranged Muslimgauze's first and only Scottish live performance (attended by 6 people). Around that time, Jones, sadly no longer with us and one of the most prolific musicians ever to exist sent Twitch multiple CD-Rs of unreleased material, including the track featured here. He said he had made this track in 1985, and there is no reason to doubt his word although also no way to prove this is true, but we are going to accept his word for it which means that it could be said Jones pre-empted UK Hardcore around 5 years before anyone else. This is made all the more remarkable by the fact that he never used samplers but rather worked extensively with tape loops. The track has been very slightly edited by Twitch to make it a little more club playable. Twitch called in German breakbeat expert and all round tip top producer Victor Shan to remix it and Gerd Janson then asked to join the party too. They turn in a modern twist on UK Hardcore / Rave (via Deutschland) with hoovers set to stun. They also did a more late night hoover free mix which is only available digitally.

On the AA side, we are delighted to welcome the debut release from yet more mysterious Italians; the male/female duo that is Underspreche. "Flowers From The Lake" is based around a sample taken (with permission) from field recordings of the Mukunguni tribe in Kenya and released by Honest Jon's Records. It weaves it into a deeply psychedelic techno track with an extended mind warping outro. Underspreche also give us "Naked" an exquisite hypno techno track that while clinical and precise manages to exude a feeling of warmth so often missing in modern techno.

Expectations is an extended player from minimalist disco outfit Harvey Sutherland and Bermuda. The second release for Sutherland's own Clarity Recordings brings his Bermuda project into sharp focus - six tracks spanning Harvey's influences from the West Coast to West End Records.
Recorded with bandmates Graeme Pogson (drums) and Tamil Rogeon (electric strings), Expectations follows last year's stomping label debut single Priestess/Bravado.
The EP includes a long-awaited studio version of live favourite Clarity, uptempo burner Coast 2 Coast and a moment of spiritual introspection with Spiders. The title track offers glimmers of the Doobies and the 'Dan a sign of things to come from the Melbourne producer and his unique trio.

This EP shows the musical development of the past 2 years in which KAUW has translated their live sound to studio recordings. It's made with the intention to work well for the club, while all of the live elements such as acoustic drums and bass guitar are on the foreground of the tracks. It's important for the band to show the energy of their live shows in the record. In this way, this EP is a switch from the more funky, live first record (which suggests the electronic side) to this EP which is on the crossroads of live music and produced House music.

The A side featuring 'PITCH' is a bit darker and a real dancefloor killer. Hard synths, deep bass, clear drums and an intense dynamic in which you're taken on a Kauwjourney to which it's unable to stand still. The B side featuring 'Nergens' is more funky, light and sweeter with beautiful synths, funky basslines and groovy drums, inspired by the mix of '90's Disco and House. San Proper's remix takes this funky track to a real Proper-world with beautiful guitar melodies, deeper basses and extravagant vocals.

Hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, Steve Bird AKA Mr. Bird is the latest artist to land at Matasuna Records' nest, hatching an exotic and fiery EP.

Starting on a mid flight ambience, before charging to catch its funky prey, Dance Away, the opening track, is a scorching collaboration with Chief Commander Yaaba, one of the lead singers of London based combo Yaaba Funk. Undeniably catchy bass line, afro horns blended with a string of unexpected beat variations, Dance Away is a call to the dancefloor, a celebratory ground to let loose, where "mothers and sisters" alike are beckoned to shine to the positive tune.

The Sasquatch, in turn, takes us into deeper, different coordinates. A constant, relentless beat foundation spiked with stabs of funky phrasing hooking the listener from its inception, regardless of language, in an almost hypnotic mantra of soulful discourse, this banger is assuredly one for the clubs.

Up-tempo, with a finely tuned built up, Floating Funk teases the less attentive ear into believing this is a simple beat statement but Mr. Bird slams and surprises with an irresistible bassline, perfectly balanced doses of guitar and a hovering - or floating! - horn section interlaced with a rhythmically proficient cowbell and cymbal section.

Angolan-minded breakbeat rhythm, kalimba grooves and funk-based keys and guitar, Carnival Beat is a contagious track. An expertly cooked platter of hot and spicy flavours served in a dish of well mixed groove which will drive any listener to get down and grind away with a smile, in what is also a true homage by Mr. Bird to his well-earned Lisbon heritage - his habitat for the past 9 years.

One can only wonder where Matasuna's next flight might be headed as each release soars ever higher, towards certified dancefloor bliss.

In Kosmaro the voice of Monica Giacomobono describes a sleepless night traveling delirious on the notes of the keyboard played Ricky Burattini (Justofunk) which then,  together with the bass of  Onorino Tiburzi , transports us in a jazzy-funk walk with the track Isotropofunk

For the first release of 2018 we welcome Harry Wolfman to the Outplay family!
Having followed his work for the last couple of years we're very happy to have him deliver this varied 4-tracker, which very well might be some of his best work to date.

The A side starts off with 'Hitch'. A warm and dusty groover driven by rhodes, a rubbery bassline and a thudding kick. A lovely string piece in the middle of the track slowly builds up to the break for it to return to the head nodding groove soon after. The added percussion gives it a nice lively feel as well.

'Pigs in Blankets' sets the pace a little slower, but the funk goes on. The track incorporates 80's style samples with some excellent synth and chord work. Perfect for a warm up session.

Starting on the B side Harry takes it up a notch with 'Nemoto', which will be a definite stomper for the dance floor. It takes you on a 9 minute journey of rolling bumpy basslines, screaming distortion leads and hypnotising synth work.
Finally, to ease things off, STS-136 (Final Call) comes in at a slow 88 bpm pace as a perfect closure to the EP. Dreamy pads, piano licks and a calming marimba melody combined with a beat which feels like a warm blanket will make you wander off for a moment...

Join two of BBE's most prolific artists and compilers, Mr Thing & Chris Read on a voyage into the mysterious, strange and wonderful world of Library Music, courtesy of Cavendish Music. Founded in 1937 and originally known as Boosey & Hawkes Recorded Music Library, Cavendish Music is the largest independent Library Music publisher in the UK and also represents a host of music catalogues across the globe. During the Library Music heyday of the 60s and 70s, thousands of riginal instrumental tracks were produced across a broad range of enres for companies like Cavendish, who then created vinyl and tape collections, often arranged by theme or mood, for their customers in radio, television and film. Cult British TV shows such as The Sweeney and The Professionals as well as documentaries and feature films relied heavily on these catalogues, and companies like KPM, De Wolfe and Boosey & Hawkes went a long way toward defining the sound of British popular culture at the time. Never commercially available, music created for these libraries that never made it to the promised land of TV or Radio was destined to languish in Cavendish Music's vast London vault; only recently unearthed by a new generation of DJs and producers searching for rare gems or a perfect sample.
Mr Thing & Chris Read were first invited to examine the contents of the Cavendish Music archive in 2014 as part of WhoSampled's 'Samplethon' event in which producers created new tracks against the clock using sample material mined from the catalogue. Whilst digging through box upon box of records and tapes looking for interesting sounds, the pair also discovered a host of 70s library music which has not only stood the test of time, but deserves to be heard in its original form. From dramatic big band numbers reminiscent of Lalo Schifrin's film scores to atmospheric proto-hip hop instrumentals produced before the genre's existence, right through to fairly straightforward jazz and funk cuts; this amazing collection of music is sure to inspire and delight DJs and beatmakers the world over.

Fouk might have been curating Outplay since 2013, but their 'Butterfunk EP' is in fact the duo's first proper EP on their own imprint.

It's not that they've been resting on their laurels: they've drip-fed a handful of EPs on the likes of Heist and House of Disco over the past few years, and released solo efforts on Kolour Ltd and Razor 'n Tape that stormed the charts.
It's been fascinating to see the Dutch pair slowly break the mould, moving from heavy sampling in favour to an emphasis on original instrumentation and production.

The Butterfunk EP is fine showcase of their prowess in the studio, loaded to the hilt with contemporary dancefloor funk. Things kick off with the rolling drums, off-beat percussion and seriously infectious Hammond lines of Organ Freeman. Title track Butterfunk is aimed squarely at the hips with its smooth keys and perfectly placed vocal, while some acid lines give the track a little edge.

Flip over for the bumping 'Wong Way', a chunky workout with a rubber bassline. The finale of the EP is 'Winter', a fantastic slice of 80's inspired downtempo mushroom jazz.

Kryptox '...surprising, individualistic, cutting-edge and irrepressibly fun' (The New York Music Daily) JRBB is a German 15 person big band that combines Jazz with Electronica. Additional beat production by COEO (Toy Tonics). On this EP is a rework from JRBB friends BRANDT BRAUER FRICK included. This EP is the first release on KRYPTOX: a new Berlin based label for Neo-Krautrock/JazzElectronica/Experimental music. The new label is made by Mathias 'Munk' Modica. The producer behind indiedance labels Gomma and Toy Tonics. (Modica produced records with people like James Murphy, WhoMadeWho, Peaches, Daniel Avery, The Rammellzee a.o.) With the new label he goes a step further. Searching for new artists who experiment on a high musical level and go beyond boundaries. Far away form the traditional dance universe. The first release on Kryptox comes from JRBB. A 15 piece Jazz group that has a very own, new way to combine Jazz with electronic elements. A New York newspaper called it ODM: Organic Dance Music. A term that fits well. Even if it's hard to pin down JRBB's music - as it is so unique.

Psychemagik are back after a brief hiatus with two solid disco floor burners, the first track 'Gotta Hold On Me' a 12 mins plus hypnotic, soulful disco jam that gets deep under the skin with a groove that gives no mercy.
The flip 'Wildman' smacks hard with sleazy vocals and a mesmerising rhodes hook, given a contemporary twist with a subtle kick n' snare, this 12' packs serious heat!! Perfect late night shenanigans.

Off the back of Rudeboyz follow up EP entitled Gqomwave, Goon Club Allstars are back with an EP from UK Funky producer KG. In 2007 Karen Nyame, otherwise known as KG, was at the Nottingham Trent University producing beats on Fruity Loops. Slightly isolated in Nottingham - away from the UK Funky scene's London epicentre - KG posted her tunes on popular UK Funky message boards and Facebook pages, but never had an opportunity to properly stake her claim as one of the scene's heavy hitters. 808 and Midnight (Flute Riddim) are two lost anthems from that era, although receiving support from the likes of Marcus Nasty and others, they were largely forgotten amongst the numerous stand out tracks of the era, appearing rarely in mixes of those lucky enough to have digital copies. 808 is the party anthem, it's joyous, quivering melodies ascend above the thumping kick drum, while relentless crashing snares and carnival whistles rain down - guaranteed to heat up the coldest of dancefloors. Midnight (Flute Riddim) on the flip side is the softer, slinkier bubbler. Built for smouldering club action and hot sunny days. BSNYEA is a new addition to Goon Club Allstars' burgeoning family of artists. Hailing from the Bronx he is a veteran of the Borough's Litefeet genre that soundtracks the performances of subway dancers cross New York City's transit system. On his remix of 808 he focusses on the whistles and gutter synth lines adding in booming bass drums and lock inducing chants. Hitmakerchinx comes fresh from his anthemic Night Slugs compilation. Bringing his signature FDM energy he drops the tempo and builds on the light, airiness, letting the flutes play out softly underneath the thumping drums.

We (Soul Clap) first connected with Nona Hendryx through our work with George Clinton, Sa'd "the Hourchild" Ali and Chuck "Da Fonk" Fishman. She wrote and sang the single "Shine" from our last album. That experience left us all wanting to collaborate more, so we teamed up with Morgan Wiley from Midnight Magic and all got in the studio to producing new EP for Soul Clap Records, four tracks of house, soul, jazz and of course THE FUNK.

Inspired by a fluid mix of global club sounds including UK funky, kuduro, techno and rap, Nervous Horzion co-head TSVI is to kick off 2018 with the release of new EP, 'Rambo'.

Comprised of six tracks, including collaborations with DJ JM and fellow Nervous Horizon boss, Wallwork, as well as a bonus remix from Luru, 'Rambo' details how TSVI's sound continues to evolve, taking on bold new shapes in the process.

A natural extension of 2016 EP, 'Sacred Drums', here he scopes out fresh influences that can be felt right the way through the tracklist. From the blaring kuduro flavours on opener 'Pull Up' to outright UK funky club jam, 'Funky T' and sparse, frenetic drum workout 'Roller', TSVI meshes together a network of powerful, drum-centred tracks.

Features from DJ JM and Wallwork bring new focus to his work too, with 'Jaguar' — a cranking, off-piste drum exercise hit by bursts of sharp, metallic synth melodies and zapping bass stabs — spotlighting inventive sound design and brilliantly abstract thinking.

A bold marker for a producer already at the top of his game, 'Rambo' forms the perfect 2018 lift-off point for one of the UK's most exciting young club labels.

Side A. Of Love Mystery-This is from the same EP that brought us "Nuthin Wrong". Since it's original release in 1995 on Dance Mania Records these tracks have proven that house music wasn't and isn't and shall never die.

The music of Giuseppe Leonardi moves through the brain in psychedelic and playful ways. Young Giuseppe prepared his shamanic amalgamation of percussion, athmosperes and synth patterns some summers ago in the catacombs of Vienna. Machine sounds from a glittering future. He shifts his instruments out of the timezone and takes us on a trip in his cosy dinghy.

A quartet of heavy reworks. Reginald Omas Mamode IV truly does what he does best, bringing a percussive, low-slung funk to one of the most ethereal and beautiful pieces of soul on the album, Sunshine. Glenn Astro, elevates Bossa B to a jostling, bouncing shuffler that eventually turns around and heads skyward with uplifting chords and irresistible bass.
Deoke heads into the darker regions of the original for his huge remix of Bossa B. Finally the ever exceptional Mr Beatnick simply took the stereo track for Kalimba 2 and edited it into a mind-opening dub. Handling bass and harmonics as only he can, a true highlight of this high quality remix package.
