Into the Light continues its journey to unearth and update overlooked Greek music. This time focuses on a smooth, warm, youthful yet intelligent work that finds effortlessly its place in the tiny Greek electronic scene of the mid 90's.

"The Nireus Years" is a rare selection of eight unheard home recordings produced between 1995 and 1997 by the then 16-year old Angelo Ioakimoglu in Athens. The album encompasses his most special productions ranging from bucolic new age to dubbed out midi electronics, jazzy r&b to Mediterranean ambient trance!

Angelo was born and raised in Zografou area of Greece's capital in 1981. It was there where his father had a typical 80's electronic lab and it was that specific environment where Angelo spent most of early childhood. A first attraction for electronic musical equipment was developed that very soon became a passion for hunting down used pieces of gear soon to form the basis of his well equipped bedroom setup.

During his teens, his connection with music was either practicing the piano at home or listening to the most recent dance hits at his uncle's place who happened to be a professional DJ. Big part of Angelo's demos around that period is driven by those two aforementioned worlds. But there were moments of escape. Moments where the music went for the unexpected. Leaving the producer following a solitary path where he could express his teenage dreams and fantasies...through extensive midi programming, live keyboards mimicking string, brass and steel instruments and sampled portions of his live percussion burst.

Angelo's work, which can sometimes seem naive or surrealistic, is supported by his unique and surprisingly energetic approach, one that gives us the courage to continue something different.

Following transmissions from Nubian Mindz and Cyclonix this year, Phuture Shock Musik returns to welcome new signing Damián Botigué aka Karmasound to the fold, who makes his debut outing on wax with the six-track strong 'Probabilidades' EP.

Hailing from Buenos Aires, though currently residing in Barcelona, the Argentine musician and producer has plied his trade for a number of years, which has yielded collaborative projects and releases beyond his homeland, including the self-released 'Magnetic Love' EP and later compilation appearances on Tokyo Dawn and BBE records as one half of electronic soul act Saturn's Children - with London soul singer-songwriter Emeson. While further production has surfaced on releases by Spanish hip hop outfit K.A.O.S, collaborative works under the moniker Evan& Damian, not to mention a few low-key efforts of his own.

Here on 'Probabilidades' EP, Karmasound widens his highly musical, soulful sound, and delivers an electronic-tinged release, where his South American heritage and Latin musical roots remain at the core, while traversing through broken beat, hip hop, jazz, fusion, funk and Afro-Latin flavours. With six cuts varying in rhythm, tempo and influence, the 12' highlights Botigué's extremely diverse production style and makes for a perfect introduction to a very fine talent on the rise.

Kicking off side A is the stuttering bossa-bruk rhythms of 'Compra Pan' which playfully lopes its way around jazzy keyboard stabs that duet with chirpy synth melodies and supple basslines. The frenetic beats of 'Flashback' follows and ups the tempo, while running amok with solid double bass, spacey synths and an infectious Brazilian-infused keyboard groove that brings to mind the classic samba doido' stylings of Azymuth. Before making way for the future jazz-funk of 'Summer Rain', where vocalist and regular collaborator, Sara Bee adds soaring vocal harmonies over syrupy Rhodes chords and a cascade of glowing synths, firmly underpinned by bristling Latin percussion and broken beats. Face down opens up with the beat-driven jaunt 'Dulce De Leche', which revolves around a hypnotic keyboard motif, interlocked with rolling synthbass and a tasty clave and cowbell-laden drum track that fluidly morphs between hip hop beats and lilting jazz-fusion grooves. Next up appears the up-tempo cosmic funk of 'Probabadilidades', where clunky, shuffling rhythms bordering on jazz jungle, collide with pattering hi-hats and claps, against a backdrop of sophisticated keys and a bulbous bassline that contorts through the arrangement. While rounding off the EP on a laidback tip is 'Sobremesa Eterna' - a composition guided by wah guitar licks, balmy Rhodes chords and shimmering organs that cruise elegantly over off kilter rhythms, all of which inhabits a sweet spot between soulful, late-night hip hop jams and the west London sound with a Latin swagger.

Kevin Murning is a musician, producer and DJ from Cape Town, South Africa. He describes his music as fake jazz, probably because he dropped out of jazz school. At 23 years old, Kevin's music is youthful yet precise and his debut EP offers an intriguing cross-section into his varied musical experience to date. The release comes out via Cape Town based imprint, Quit Safari, home to some of SA's most exciting producers.

Kevin's debut comes in the form of a 5-track EP called Mode's Arp. Comprised of 3 originals and 2 remixes, the release serves as a dual functional one with tracks for home and club use. Taking 2 years to fully complete, Mode's Arp is a wonderfully considered body of work and speaks volumes about Kevin's talent and his ability to create music that is beautiful and banging. Both Kevin and Quit Safari label head, Zanasi Wifi, are on remix duty for the EP, taking the originals and recontextualising them into high octane percussive workouts.

The word 'Icosahedrite' refers to the geometric figure icosahedron, and arises from the idea that the EP is an amalgam of electronic music styles with many other aspects of traditional musical genres, like jazz or blues. Metaphorically, those genres act as the multiple sides of an imaginary icosahedron. Something complex yet solid that sits outside of the conventional emerges as the final result. A1 'Phason Jazz' - This is a track where conventional jazz structures converge with electronica, and the influences Eduardo gets from Miles Davis and John Coltrane shine themselves. Twisted keyboards patterns mixed with delays and deafening effects form a place to get lost, and eventually repetition becomes hypnotism and turns into an automatic trance. B1 ' Mr Dewey D' - Mr Dewey D is referring again to Miles, and his first and second surnames.This song is much more influenced by Dark Comedy (aka Kenny Larkin) and all the records that he throws out on the french label 'Poussez' titled 'FunkFaker: Music Saves My Soul' Blues breath tirelessly in this composition where there is not much time for an objective analysis and where everything finally leads to an insane ending. B2 'Rhythmic Soundscapes ' - This track is, I guess, the most conventional part of the EP, Nonetheless, it retains special qualities. Floating pianos with delays are combined with bass sounds that go back and forth, forming a musical piece with techno sensibilities that I hope will give opportunities to the most daring DJs.

Gifted Culture collective kicks off with Zinnigheddas Jam Berlin, first 12' of a series of three releases recorded exclusively during improvised jam sessions. Gifted Culture wants artists to breath and to represent in music the contemporaneity that surrounds us. Gifted Culture catches that very moment on tape. This is an itinerant music project, to highlight the context as influence on the artistic process.

During the first session Two Thou, Autre, Xinner and Demo gather together during a Sunday night in Kreuzberg with an electric bass and a bunch of synthesizers. There they start to tell us how they feel the 'now'.

After being in the reggae band the Heavymanners (parted in 2009) led by Takeshi Heavy' Akimoto, and participating as a supporting member of DRY&HEAVY after which the band reunited with the original rhythm section, Sahara (keyboard/programming) and Ohkuma, who worked as the drummer of Soul Dimension, started the dub unit Undefined. It is no exaggeration to say they have pushed the variously formatted term of dub' to the far shore experimentally and furthermore, liberated the definition of dub to undefined.' Their debut 7inch vinyl released in March last year from their own label Newdubhall is being well received even overseas and in the spring of 2018, this 10inch vinyl New Culture Days' will be out, which will be their second release.

New Culture Days' was co-composed with Kazufumi Kodama. It goes without saying that he is the one who has been continuing to pursue dub, through Mute Beat, the originator band of this country and also under his own name.While citing sound texture like techno-infused minimal dub, Undefined' s track dashes on a trackless road. And there is the trumpet of Kodama, who has also been giving sympathy to minimal dub since the late 90s. A trumpet that draws a vivid line on monochromatic aspect, flickering sounds of drum and bass, and the third lead that represents this work awaits at the far end of the echo. It is mu,' in another words, nothingness.

Just as the stars are floating in the urban night sky, the sound is lonesome yet bold and bright and the jet-black darkness lingers. An aggressive bass and effective sounds: this track expresses the cream of dub music with its excessiveness and nothingness facing one another. This track did not come to reality without the deep understanding of these two dub seekers. Moreover, excluding covers, this is the first original track by Kodama in a long time.

Over the past several years, an electronic and experimental dub, which is diverse from so-called bass music and new roots, is being recognized again as one of the streams. It could be said that New Culture Days too, welcomes this sort of essence.

The encounter between producers, musicians and long-time friends Nicola Conte and Gianluca Petrella, 16 years after their previous effort together "New Standards" (Schema), brings us a 12" EP with hints of Detroit atmospheres, Afro spiritual jazz influences and a contemporary disco feel. The A-Side track "African Spirit" is a spiritual mantra, a simple dancefloor groove capable to induce an ecstatic feel, the flip-side "New World Shuffle" is built on the same element and is enhanced by Bridgette Amofah's vocals, adding a tribal vibe.

Horatio Luna is a Melbourne Bassist. composer, producer and founder of soul outfit 30/70 (Rhythm Section Intl). The left-leaning jazz musician known for his boldly experimental compostitions moves towards a soulful-house sound on 'Cultural Warriors'. The record features the innovations of jazz-soul-bap producer/instrumentalists Nap King Cole (Silent Jay x Jace XL) Perrin Moss (Hiatus Kaiyote) and Ziggy Zeitgeist (Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange). Who have each in their own right recreated and reinvented the ideology of what it means to be a jazz musician in the modern age.

The sound of '2020' is new jazz and old funk with an electronic city pace, brought to you by duo The Colours That Rise. Made up of multi-instrumentalists and producers Simeon Jones and Nathanael Williams, their '2020' EP is a confident guide through future sounds and past histories from a time yet to come.

Created using analogue synths and acoustic instruments, the 4 track EP works as the score to a yet to be created animation. Nathanael's background is creating soundtracks for films, while Simeon plays with UK jazz prophets Yussef Kamaal and featured on Henry Wu's 'Negotiate' 12'.

Providing groove for the dancer and hidden meanings for the listener, '2020' is plugged in to the pulse of UK dancefloors and the resurgence of funk audiences. With their fusion sound, The Colours That Rise are another welcome addition to the new 'UK Jazz invasion' alongside their friends and colleagues Yussef Kamaal and The Comet is Coming.

As part of the ten-year anniversary Dekmantel presents the final record in a ten-part-EP series. Split into two parts due to its immensity, the final instalment is a re-issue of Tony Allen's 'Asiko (In A Silent Mix)' originally released in 1999 and remixes by Motor City Drum Ensemble and Ricardo Villalobos. The last record in the series sees MCDE delivering a trademark track that will send dance floors on fire worldwide.

Part two of the EP features the Motor City Drum Ensemble remix, and the original In A Silent Mix' version from 1999, a track out of its time when released on Allen's sole record Black Voices'. A long serving Dekmantel veteran, Danilo Plessow was there from the start. After compiling the first Selector's compilation last year, MCDE turns Tony Allen's masterpiece in a jam, with added house beats, giving the funk number the edit treatment. The final mix sounds like the kind of track you would hear MCDE play in one of his sets as he's firing up the heat. The organ sounds and trumpets are left high in the mix, to create an unforgettable hook that resonates throughout, in complete Motor City style.

Highlighting the diversity of sounds that have come to represent the Dutch label and festival series, the EPs to date have encompassed a range of artists and genres, featuring label favourites, as well as whole bunch of debuting artists. The EP series kicked off in March 2018, and over the course of a year featured the likes of Gigi Masin, Lena Willikens, Burnt Friedman, Donato Dozzy, The Egyptian Lover, Palms Trax, and more.

Having bubbled up in the Polo House scene for the last couple years, 2017 finds Richu M stepping into the forefront for his debut outing 'Donor Goes To Hawaii'.
Rhythm-centric, but varied in approach, the 6-tracker traverses swirling techno, heady thumpers, muddy beatscapes and throwback boom bap.
Simultaneously airy and off-kilter, the release shows a breadth of approach that is not easily pigeonholed, but feels vaguely familiar.

Opener 'Round' soundtracks a laser tag pursuit scene with swayed synths, chattering percussion, and pitch-shift vocal echoes.
The title track 'Donor Goes To Hawaii' takes a Dilla bounce kit to the beach and gets the vibraphone and organ all sandy.

Hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, Steve Bird AKA Mr. Bird is the latest artist to land at Matasuna Records' nest, hatching an exotic and fiery EP.

Starting on a mid flight ambience, before charging to catch its funky prey, Dance Away, the opening track, is a scorching collaboration with Chief Commander Yaaba, one of the lead singers of London based combo Yaaba Funk. Undeniably catchy bass line, afro horns blended with a string of unexpected beat variations, Dance Away is a call to the dancefloor, a celebratory ground to let loose, where "mothers and sisters" alike are beckoned to shine to the positive tune.

The Sasquatch, in turn, takes us into deeper, different coordinates. A constant, relentless beat foundation spiked with stabs of funky phrasing hooking the listener from its inception, regardless of language, in an almost hypnotic mantra of soulful discourse, this banger is assuredly one for the clubs.

Up-tempo, with a finely tuned built up, Floating Funk teases the less attentive ear into believing this is a simple beat statement but Mr. Bird slams and surprises with an irresistible bassline, perfectly balanced doses of guitar and a hovering - or floating! - horn section interlaced with a rhythmically proficient cowbell and cymbal section.

Here's his new Keinemusik release you hadn't reckoned with. This very I Never Wear Black' EP shows him changing tune drastically and that in the true sense of the word.
Just have a closer listen to the A-side I Never Wear Black'. You'll discover those metallic sounds of straining strings, that he'll group with layers of shakersounds and a guitar loop that one can read as expression of Port's interest in Progrock and Balearic history. A loop that will pluck whole dancefloors into trance-like condition. Port goes for the big effect through minor means. No vocals, manageable arsenal, no overreacted break-hysteria and still a dense, vibrant and ecstasy triggering ride stretching over more than seven minutes.
E Sound Edit' on the flip presents a quite similar feeling. Once again, Port is aiming for analogue grip und implies all the splinters of sound that come naturally when carving out a vital piece of music. E Sound Edit' is far from perfectly tared, sterile soundslickness. There is hot blood running through all those latin samples, the swinging piano and the recurring use of guitar and surely its vibe will not only get a floor moving, but also bring about broad grins to many faces.

Strut presents the brand new album from cosmic jazz travellers The Pyramids, led by saxophonist Idris Ackamoor, 'An Angel Fell'. I wanted to use folklore, fantasy and drama as a warning bell,' explains Ackamoor. The songs explore global themes that are important to me and to us all: the rise of catastrophic climate change and our lack of concern for our planet, loss of innocence and separation... but positive themes too, the healing power of music, collective action and the simple beauty of nature.' Produced by Malcolm Catto of The Heliocentrics, the album was recorded during an intense week at Quatermass studios in London and is one of the deepest, richest works yet from a band reaching their highest creative peak since the early '70s. Some of the many highlights include the poignant title track depicting a fallen angel in purgatory, outrage and grief on the powerful, hard hitting 'Soliloquy For Michael Brown' and the lilting, beautiful album closer, 'Sunset'.

The Pyramids originally came together in 1972 at Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio where teachers included renowned pianist, Cecil Taylor. After forming in Paris and embarking on a cultural odyssey' across Africa, the group recorded three independent albums, 'Lalibela' (1973), 'King Of Kings' (1974) and 'Birth / Speed / Merging' (1976) and became renowned for their striking live shows, mixing percussive, spiritual and space-age jazz with performance theatre and dance. After migrating to San Francisco, they disbanded in 1977. 35 years later, the band reunited in 2012 following growing demand for their music from vinyl collectors. German label Disko B released the freeform album 'Otherwordly' and in 2016, they released their first album for Strut, the acclaimed 'We Be All Africans'.

In the late 1990's label manager Nik Weston was working for Island Records and in particular the label imprint Island Blue set up by Ross Allen. It was here that he first heard the timeless jazz version masterpiece of Amalia from Kirk Degiorgio's As One. The track featured on a promo cd but never made it to a commercial release for Island Blue and was later featured on the full length album release for San Francisco label Ubiquity Records a few years later in 2001. 'Amalia' is a sultry jazz classic featuring gorgeous keys from Jamie Odell aka Jimpster. As relevant today as it ever was when initially made and here presented as a single in it's own right for the very first time. On the flipside another track that never made it to single in this version was the unique jazzual 'Spiritual Rotations' by Butti 49 from Norway. Nik had later worked with Butti 49 whilst working for Exceptional Records for the Habit album in 2004 but 'Spiritual Rotations' itself initially featured as an exclusively album only track for Future Sounds Of Jazz Volume 8 in 2001 for German label Compost. So there you have it... two welcome killer Jazz classics that deserve a revisit for your attention cut on limited 180 gram vinyl for your ears, your turntable and your dancefloor....

Berlin based duo Flat Maze (producer Stefano Mori and pianist Uri Gincel) play with techno grooves and with experimental raw and meditative sounds, but they still leave enough room for silence and emotions. Gamapawa are our final act, probably the most Jazz of all, definitely very much focused on experimenting new forms of contamination of Jazz and Electronica. In "Nobossa" DJ and electronic producer Paine Cuadrelli, trumpet player Mario Mariotti, japanese synth player Gak Sato and bass player Walter Prati (with guest appearance by saxophonist Gianni Mimmo) are providing the finest example of a cross over electronic experimental act which leaves the listeners with plenty of musical references and inspiring moments.

The legendary German House label NEEDS (not wants) returns after a long hiatus with a new release on the exclusive Gold Edition that is set up for revisiting their own classics to upgrade them with brand new versions and re-interpretations. Walkin Thru Circles - originally produced by Lars & Marek Bartkuhn - has always been a favourite for many of their fans. For the Full Expansion Lars has gone back to the studio to recompose and re-record the whole thing over again, combining the skills of some excellent session musicians with lots of live instruments, drum & percussion and vocals all played and sung by the producer himself. instrumentalists who have successfully explored various musical styles during their career, a true experimentalist with a motley repertoire, including Pop, Soul, Jazz, Rock, and even Disco, he remains a must-have for connoisseurs.

From the 1960s to the present day, whether as a composer, arranger or conductor, he is the author of more than 25 albums intended for the library music. Fouk might have been curating Outplay since 2013, but their 'Butterfunk EP' is in fact the duo's first proper EP on their own imprint.

It's not that they've been resting on their laurels: they've drip-fed a handful of EPs on the likes of Heist and House of Disco over the past few years, and released solo efforts on Kolour Ltd and Razor 'n Tape that stormed the charts.
It's been fascinating to see the Dutch pair slowly break the mould, moving from heavy sampling in favour to an emphasis on original instrumentation and production.

The Butterfunk EP is fine showcase of their prowess in the studio, loaded to the hilt with contemporary dancefloor funk. Things kick off with the rolling drums, off-beat percussion and seriously infectious Hammond lines of Organ Freeman. Title track Butterfunk is aimed squarely at the hips with its smooth keys and perfectly placed vocal, while some acid lines give the track a little edge.

Flip over for the bumping 'Wong Way', a chunky workout with a rubber bassline. The finale of the EP is 'Winter', a fantastic slice of 80's inspired downtempo mushroom jazz.

Kryptox '...surprising, individualistic, cutting-edge and irrepressibly fun' (The New York Music Daily) JRBB is a German 15 person big band that combines Jazz with Electronica. Additional beat production by COEO (Toy Tonics). On this EP is a rework from JRBB friends BRANDT BRAUER FRICK included. This EP is the first release on KRYPTOX: a new Berlin based label for Neo-Krautrock/JazzElectronica/Experimental music. The new label is made by Mathias 'Munk' Modica. The producer behind indiedance labels Gomma and Toy Tonics. (Modica produced records with people like James Murphy, WhoMadeWho, Peaches, Daniel Avery, The Rammellzee a.o.) With the new label he goes a step further. Searching for new artists who experiment on a high musical level and go beyond boundaries. Far away form the traditional dance universe. The first release on Kryptox comes from JRBB. A 15 piece Jazz group that has a very own, new way to combine Jazz with electronic elements. A New York newspaper called it ODM: Organic Dance Music. A term that fits well. Even if it's hard to pin down JRBB's music - as it is so unique.

The Animal Spirits will be released 3 November via his own Border Community label. This will be the first full length release from Holden since 2013's critically lauded The Inheritors.

Released under the moniker Sign Libra, Closer to the Equator is the work of Latvian artist and composer Agata Melnikova. Composed for a contemporary ballet at Latvian National Opera in Riga, the music on this record strongly relies on Melnikova's appreciation of BBC-produced nature documentaries. Projecting the life of each creature that inhabits the British TV-program into her very personal and highly synthetized world, Sign Libra lends these microscopic beings her own voice. Each song works like a musical tableau' in which the main protagonists - plants and animals - come on stage to play their part in a ballet carefully choreographed by the Latvian artist.

Sign Libra's mental and musical incarnations of the microcosm of the rainforest have something to do with Software's album populated by exotic insects and crawling plants, a Carnaval des Animaux' released on Sky by a MIDI-addicted Hector Berlioz. These microscopic beings incarnate themselves in resonated melodies that echo through a technicolour rainforest, while winds blow through holographic ferns, vines and palms.

Closer To The Equator synthesizes visions panning treetops as the sun's rays pierce through clouds nearby. Sign Libra takes you into a harmonic world that shines brightly wherever you stand, and offers a genuine synesthetic experience.

Brand new year, brand new imprint. CoOp Presents is an all-new record label, founded by IG Culture and Alex Phountzi, set to focus on the depth and wealth of talent that exists within the London Bruk movement and beyond, a project which they consider to be a continuation in the same spirit of the legendary CoOp movement.

Last Summer, the CoOp Presents crew released an EP via First Word Records entitled 'Selectors Assemble'. This was the first collective offering from a foundation comprised of UK dance music pioneers and nowadays bruk soldiers, navigating in & around the world of broken beat and beyond over the last two decades to the present day. Reinvigorated by recent Boiler Room sessions, the crew proceeded with more parties, more radio shows, and gained access to an unlimited pool of all-new sounds. The squad were primed and ready to move forwards from the famed days of the Plastic People dances, and further explore the evolution of their sound.

Selectors Assemble exists as an umbrella to showcase talent from originators and newcomers alike, transcending genres and geographics. Over the summer, more members were introduced to the clique, and it was clear there was much more work to be done. So we proceed. Setting it off, we bring you 'Selectors Assemble Volume Two'. The first six-track selection from the stable for 2018.

James Rudie opens the selection with 'Port Funk', a soulful 4/4 stomper, adrift with jazz licks and weighty bassline. Danvers up next with 'My Nina', a deep vibesy breakbeat opener that chops away, flipping its groove several times through the track. EVM128 steps up & steps in with the no-messin' tough tribal bounce of the 'Gamma Riddim' next. Cengiz opens up the flipside of the plate with some straight up bruk-funk that rides 'On On On'. Entek enters the dance with a twisted swagger and next level sonics on 'Robbery', ticking numerous groove boxes, before we approach the final cut from N15's own Miraa May, on the soulful flex of 'I Don't Want Ya (Didi)'. The rub on this last one coming courtesy of label founders, NameBrandSound aka IG Culture and Alex Phountzi.

Selectors Assemble appear on rotation monthly on Worldwide FM, as well as numerous other shows and dances individually, including upcoming parties at The Jazz Cafe, and the formation of a new base, The Flex, a multi purpose warehouse space in East London. Jaxx Madicine is a jazz-funk inspired house-ish outfit from Milan consisting of Turbojazz (Local Talk, GAMM Records), Parker Madicine (Heist, Bastard Jazz Brooklyn, CT-HI Records) and the talented jazz keyboardist 'Veez_0'.

With an organic and melodic sound collage you can hear influences from classic 70's jazz funk labels and artists like CTI, Mizell Brothers, Kudu and Bob James but also the current sounds of Kaidi Tatham, Byron The Aquarius and Harvey Sutherland.

SNIPS delivers the first vinyl release on Houseology. The Barbershop LP is a tongue in cheek play on the production techniques Todd Worsnip aka Snips normally uses when making his Hip-Hop work. This 8 track LP is meeting of the two worlds of House and Hip-Hop tapping into Snips' raw ability to find the best cuts and chops needed for any genre.

DJ Snips began his career at legendary London record store Deal Real', where he ran the open mic night alongside British host and comedian Doc Brown, Snips' years at Deal Real saw him DJ'ing alongside performances from several US heavy hitters including Kanye West, Mos Def and the Black Eyed Peas.

Snips' knack for manoeuvring through a wide range of Hip Hop oeuvres has seen him play around the world, Specifically in NYC where he has been a guest at legendary parties including Everyday People, Bible Study, Mobile Mondays and Ginny's Supper Club. As well as being a regular in NY, Snips has also headlined events in The Philippines, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Qatar, France, Norway and Spain. When Snips isn't touring or on the Club circuit, he's known for churning out beats for some of the most talented MCs on both sides of the Atlantic. His production work includes tracks for several major US recording artists including M1 (Dead Prez), Capadonna (Wu Tang), Sean Price.

Work on the Houseology record label allows Snips the opportunity to articulate himself even more so within his skilled production, by drawing a definitive line between the House/Hip-Hop relationship which has existed for years.

Following on from the success of their first EP and its subsequent remix project on Wah Wah 45s, South London Afro-dub warriors Soothayers deliver the first offering from their forthcoming album, Tradition, to be released in June.

"Dis Cant be right, Dat can't be right" is the chorus response on new single, Dis & Dat. So, how long is this song you might wonder as in 2018 there seems to be so many things that sit at odds with each other that verses could go on for an eternity. However, Soothsayers list of issues is succinct - Dis & Dat is not a lesson in politics or socio-economics, but rather a song aimed at bringing us together and something we could all sing if No. 45 (we can't say his name) ever dares to visit our shores, or at any event where a current Government minister is the main attraction.

Quotes from two Jamaican greats - "Sharpen the small axe, cut the big tree, the hotter the battle, the sweeter the victory" - reignite hope in the power of human action and resistance via some uplifting big Afro grooves, Soothsayers style.

Remixes on this vibrant new singles come from erstwhile Fila Brazillia legend Steve Cobby who comes up with a trademark mid-tempo four-to-the-floor dub-infused stomper, while young gun and rising star, Ben Hauke, conjures up a foot friendly, percussive broken latin gem a la 4-Hero that's already doing lots of business on the dance floor.

Dis & Dat is released on February 9th both digitally and on hand-stamped 12", limited to just 100 copies, also featuring the SMBD Warrior Dub of Blinded Souls, on vinyl for the very first time.

For their 12th label anniversary, Jazz & Milk have decided to launch a new series called "Twelve Inch Jams" in order to celebrate vinyl culture and the legendary 12" format!

JAMS002 sounds the bell for the second round of the series including a 10 years re-issue of the classic Sam Irl cut "You Don't Feel Enough". Originally released as a B1 tune on his "African Dance EP" debut on Pulver Records in 2007, this jazzy house gem found its way into the record bags of many influential DJs over the years. From Session Victim, Glenn Astro, Max Graef to Hodini... the record never disappeared in club sets but certainly from discogs a good while ago.

So it was about time to give the tune a second life and finally press it on the format it deserves - a whole 12" side. The German production duo Session Victim are well-known fans of the track describing it as their secret weapon playing it in quite many DJ sets for years, including their 2015 appearance for Mixmag's DJ Lab.

Hence, it is a great pleasure that Session Victim contributed a remix to the new release. Their absolutely elegant and groove-driven version with a charming 90's touch to it makes a brillant counterpart to the original with its jazzy piano-, drum- and double bass samples leading to an epic synth break that regularly causes ecstatic moments on the dancefloor.

We are pleased to welcome Easy to Remember (Unclear, Klang) and Marius Laurentiu for the fourth episode of BAL. Raw house on the A side and deep with minimal influence on the other side. Limited vinyl only !

'Oonops Drops' is the eponymous name of DJ Oonops' monthly broadcast on Brooklyn Radio (NYC). It's not your average radio show without talk and comments for which he invites renowned guests with their exclusive mixes from around the globe to create timeless and thematic episodes. In the last sixty shows he got visited by artists like Morcheeba, Guts, Nickodemus, The Herbaliser, Nostalgia 77, Boca 45, Blundetto, Chinese Man and many more.

Born in 1977 he got in contact with music at an early stage and soon discovered his medium of choice: vinyl. Oonops is a dj, selector, digger and is known for his smooth mixing skills to rock parties in his unmistakable wildstyle of jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, beats, edits, reggae, dub and afro. He shared the stages with acts like Nightmares on Wax, The Beatnuts, Jeru The Damaja, Ebo Taylor, Myron & E, Akua Naru and The Artifacts to name just a few.

As a longtime friend of the label and as a resident of its own club night he now gets his own compilation series to showcase his manifold taste in digging, selecting and mixing. His matter was to create a compilation of manifold genres of undiscovered, previously unreleased and for the first time on vinyl delicacies for any avid and discernable listener and dj. Especially for the vinyl lovers he dug many tracks which are treats for every set from warm-up until peak time. This compilation will stay for a long time in the bags.

First Word close out 2017 with the return of Kaidi Tatham, following up his 'Changing Times' EP for us, with another killer 4-tracker - this one entitled 'Hard Times'.

To bring you up to speed, Kaidi is probably best known for his work with Bugz In The Attic. His body of work includes musical contributions for artists including Amy Winehouse, Slum Village, Mulatu Astatke, Soul II Soul, Leroy Burgess, Amp Fiddler, Macy Gray, King Britt, DJ Spinna, Mr Scruff and IG Culture.

Earlier this year, he was an integral part of DJ Jazzy Jeff's incredible PLAYlist project, most notably releasing the album 'Chasing Goosebumps', also featuring Glenn Lewis, Stro Elliot, Masego, Daniel Crawford and a whole host more. Most recently he was part of Jeff and Will Smith's (The Fresh Prince) reunion tour across Europe, and added releases to his already impressive catalogue on 2000 Black and Theo Parrish's Sound Signature, with regular compadre, Dego.

The EP kicks off with the title track 'Hard Times', a mid-tempo slice of infectious nu-funk. 'I See What You See' starts with Kaidi's infamous rhodes licks, before dropping to some heads-down latin-tinged percussion and hefty basslines. We maintain the latin funk bruk boogie with the mighty 'Super Lion', and close out the set with a soaring synth and lush piano-led 105BPM groove called 'We All Breathe The Same Air'. Each track exemplifies the articulate proficiency of Kaidi's talents, and cement just why he's so revered by so many.

The harder the times get, the more imperative our need to let off some sweat on the dancefloor.

For his 5th release, rap afficianado Ty takes us on a journey of works from his heart. He tackles subjects like his childhood neighbourhood Brixton and works through issues over the course of the album of poverty, depression, racism, family, hiphop and the creative process to philosophical musings on life and even imagined film soundtracks. The album, entitled 'A Work Of Heart' is produced and predominantly written by Ty. The sounds are a mixture of crisp, bouncy production, live instrumentation and vivid and entertaining lyrics. Featured guests include Tall Black Guy, Wayne Francis (United Vibrations) and the legendary Umar Bin Hassan of the Last Poets. We are very excited to present you the new release on our label: Boorane - Thru Jazz to Mars EP!
Although it's the very first EP of the project, these guys can hardly be called newcomers. Boorane members already have the street credibility and style with the strong roots and skills in b-boying and djing, dating back to early 2000s, and can easily teach us a thing or two about the art of digging, beats programming, real swing and texture. With previous releases on King Underground Records, Boora is recognized as the godfather of Russian boom bap, no less.

Together with his good friend and long-time collaborator on all fronts Krane, they came up with this work of beauty and depth.

Soulful hip-hop beats meet heavily swung house, sophisticated techno and a nice slice of timeless electro, all based on obscure Soviet samples & excerpts from long-forgotten scientific movies and documentaries, chopped drum breaks and complex groovy programming - All created with the classic hip-hop set of tools: Akai MPC 3000 and E-Mu SP-1200.

On the metaphorical side of things Boorane is the clear reference to Buran - the legendary Soviet space program and the eponymous space shuttle! Beyond the mere name - the EP is loaded with sounds, related to the space exploration, including the shuttle engine start at the very beginning of this special musical journey, leading us to straight into space with a reassuring hip-hop beat.

Boorane's music has the capacity to work on so many levels. Being down to earth and clearly physical on the one hand, with the heavy grainy beats and gritty textures that are ready to shake the dancefloors, their music has an unmistakable timeless touch, yielding high aspirations and thoughts about space and time.

The vivid example is Find The Way which is a collaboration with the label boss Lay-Far - is a real pacifist manifesto - with its reassuring thoughts about the future of the world - Love has got to find the way and step by step are the phrases effectively repeated as mantras throughout the track, making us believe the prospect is just inevitable!

Ben Jacobs aka Crackazat first made a name for himself when he was still living in Bristol and released on EP on the city's Futureboogie label, which has also signed music from the likes of Julio Bashmore, Crazy P and Outboxx.

Early in his career Crackazat was also the official warm up act for an at the time up and coming artist called Floating Points, who now needs no introduction as one of the world's leading electronic music producers.

Moving to Sweden shortly after the Futureboogie release, Crackazat made contact with the Local Talk owners Mad Mats and Tooli, and after a couple of single/EP releases signed his debut solo album Crescendo.

At the third New Interplanetary Melodies' astral journey stopover, it was mandatory to catch an Italian project deeply inspired by the Sun Ra visionary realm, expressing contemporary trials of hybridising jazz with artful electronica. So Ra Toth and The Brigantes' Orchestra landed on vinyl grooves for the label, after having previously appeared on the likes of Mathematics and Berceuse Heroique. Behind the sound, we find the elusive and unpredictable genius of the well-respected producer Marcello Napoletano. NIM received the distorted sound signal from Napoletano taken over by the Egyptian deity born from the lips of Ra. Who knows if those noises were coming from a parallel dimension, outer space, or some otherworldly sphere... Submerged in dark bottom waters, the stormy waves of the 'Acid Sea' are made of convulsive afro-flavoured percussion with sharp synths looming out like the ivories of some freakish abyssal creatures.

Colombian Afro-Caribbean House band Ghetto Kumbé is back with another banging 5 tracks EP., produced with Uk based The Busy Twist.
Formed in 2015, Ghetto Kumbé is composed of three of the most skilful musicians from the popping modern Colombian scene, all of indigenous and African origins .
Multi-instrumentalist El Guajiro' also sings in the amazing salsa band La 33' and used to perform in Richard Blair's Sidestepper'.
Having worked with legendary Toto La Momposina or Quantic's Ondatrópica among many others, Chongo's percussions are truly part of the Colombian musical heritage.
Doctor Keyta', for his part, has dedicated his life to learning how to master the art of playing African percussions.
Soy Selva' transalted as I'm Jungle' is about the ancient people of Colombia, their traditions, their relations with mother nature, universal respect and ritual dancing.
However, there's much more about this EP than the ultimate innovative act from the emerging Colombian melting pot.
The featuring of Ghanaian singer Zongo Abongo on Dagbani Dance' takes the listener even deeper in Africa than the band's previous productions, and the involvement of young and talented, London native producer The Busy Twist put together three continents in this unique musical adventure.

The second Hello Skinny album, Watermelon Sun conjures images of the languorous, dreamy escapism its title suggests. Channelling influences including UK jazz, New Jersey house and Chicago footwork, it's the melodies - played on trombone, tenor sax and the keys - which are the bright-shining, consistent thread throughout. The solo project of esteemed drummer Tom Skinner (whose other recent projects include Sons of Kemet and Owiny Sigoma Band), the album features influential trombone player and composer Peter Zummo (a friend and collaborator of Arthur Russell, who's recently released new material on Glasgow's Optimo label).

Over the past thirty years, dance music has splintered off into a myriad web of different styles and tribes. But in the beginning, things were different: starting with New York's late '70s disco boom, the city's fertile club scene co-mingled hip-hop, R&B, punk and the avant-garde. For Hello Skinny, that open-minded attitude serves as inspiration for Watermelon Sun. Recorded in free-form, improvised live sessions, it sees that broad-minded club lineage channelled through London's genre-blurring, jazz-influenced vanguard.

Connecting via a mutual friend, Skinner went to see Zummo at his house on Staten Island, New York in 2014. A performer and composer of minimalism and contemporary classical since the late '60s, he also played on cultish disco singles like Arthur Russell's Kiss Me Again' and Go Bang'. Strongly influenced by hearing Zummo explain his open-form approach to composition, Skinner approached the recording sessions with written material - a clutch of riffs, melodies and basslines - as the jumping off point for open-ended recordings. Rejecting the kind of improvisation where each player takes their turn to solo, he embraced a group-oriented approach. Or as he puts it, I like improvising where it doesn't sound like improvising.'

Weaved through with loose, colourful melodies, the record deftly shifts tempos - from the off-kilter club banger of Mr P.Z.' to the slow-build, yearning sounds of iDEATH' - in a way that reflects Skinner's experience behind the drum kit. He often plays unconventional rhythms, in 5/4 rather than the 4/4 norm, in a way that's not showy or trying to be challenging. I try and write things that feel natural,' he explains. It might be in 5/4, but it doesn't immediately sound like it, so it can be quite rhythmically accessible in that way. I'm really interested in rhythm and how you can construct rhythms in different ways.'

As a drummer, he's been a ubiquitous presence working with scene-leading saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings as well as the likes of Dave Okumu (The Invisible) and Eska. Part of a generation bridging time-earned musicianship with wide-open influences - from electronic music to hip-hop and pop - he's part of killer live outfit Sons of Kemet and has toured with acts including Matthew Herbert, Kano and Mulatu Astatke.

Arriving at a moment when blurred genres and disparate styles are increasingly being embraced in UK venues and clubs, the moment is ripe for an album which embraces that open-minded attitude. Informed and shaped by the collaboration with Zummo, it bridges internet-mutated dance music with a continent-spanning jazz sensibility - reimagining that underground New York legacy for London in 2017.

Sax man Timo Lassy & drummer Teppo Mäkynen debut their scorching duo formation. These tracks were recorded raw at their rehearsal space at Helsinki's Kaapelitehdas and cut to wax right next door at the Timmion Cutting Lab. What you'll have here is two solid slices of infectious, hard-swinging bare bones duo jazz.

Lassy and Mäkynen are both known as solo artists as well as from groups such as The Five Corners Quintet. Mäkynen also plays drums on the Timo Lassy Band, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Mäkynen recently released a new major solo work as 3TM.

After the first big success, the second Vinyl Release from the young Frankfurt Label eMBi Music is following now. The next artist from Italy, who is not quite knowen yet will be talked about. "Odo Makes A Smile" is not only the artists name, but also programm. In "U Got it EP" he is showing his skills and the sense of music. He is combining the melody and melancholy in clubs suitable Grooves. This lead also Aldo Cadiz to a remix and together with the Molisans Brothers this record will be a must have for every recordcase.

"THE STORYTELLER" by RON TRENT'S GEMINI JAZZ is a tribute to JOHNNY HAMMOND "THE TONE" has hints of JACO PASTORIOUS. "THE PLACE INSIDE" is a beautiful piece with Latin Percussions & piano with a haunting Brazilian vocal. Support from LOUIE VEGA, VOLCOV, DANNY KRIVIT and FRANCOIS KEVORKIAN.

Aketi Ray are an all-acoustic dub-jazz group, playing original compositions grounded in the instrumental music of post-independence Jamaica -ska, rocksteady, reggae, rockers, dub -but drawing inspiration and influence from Ethiopian and US jazz, west African percussion traditions, all with the mind set of UK steppas. An outernational sound: Kingston to Chicago to Addis Ababa to Dakar to London.The sound of "From Ever Since" draws on the vibes and heritage of pre-electr(on)ic music, but gives that traditional sound new power through the use of dub techniques of reverb, delay and EQ manipulation.The Aketi Ray sound Band leader 'Mikus' Gorecki explains: At the time I was listening to a lot of tuff digital dub tunes, and much as I love that sound still, I thought there was a lack of dubwise music getting made that had that live feel of the 60s and 70s. At the same time I didn't want to just rehash the past - the best you can do is come close to replicating that sound, you definitely won't beat it. So I decided to try something different, and bring in other connected jazz and African influences to the mix. 'Sometimes when people fuse different music traditions it can sound a bit of a collage, the elements are all there but they don't actually fuse together. I think we have our own sound, and it's greater than the sum of its parts.The compositions are forward-looking, form-pushing, and although there are no vocals, they are message-driven, concerned with conditions of modern life, spirituality and politics. Mikus says The music definitely has a message. Each track has a very clear subject in mind when writing it, but it's down to the listener to tune in to that and take from that what they will. I find you can say more with the abstract language of music than you can in words.'

'Root Down' is an exclusive and strictly limited 7" single for DJ Oonops' upcoming compilation 'Oonops Drops Vol.1'. The track will be available on the compilation too, but only on this 45 you'll get the instrumental version.

Oonops is hosting a monthly, successful broadcast show on Brooklyn Radio (NYC) since four years. A few months ago he selected the album 'Nautiloid Quest' for Agogo Records' new japanese signing Nautilus and worked together with them for this single. Oonops' idea behind this reinterpretation of 'Root Down' was a slower, jazzy laidback atmosphere combined with a female voice for the Beastie Boys lyrics. So he asked Nautilus' mastermind Toshi to arrange a new instrumental and German singer Fleur Earth to sing over this track.

Following on from his hook up with Chris Read, we are happy to showcase the talents of Pugs Atomz once again, this time in collaboration with fellow Chicago compatriot, Mulatto Patriot. Sweat' will certainly make you do that on the dancefloor - a frenetic jam perfect for your workpout playlist. Flip to the B side for the smoother MFSB influenced Come With Me'. The Neapolitan Berlin based duo NU GUINEA inaugurates their new in-house label NG Records with a sparkling mélange of Jazz-Funk and obscure Disco. With its own special Italian flavour, the reinterpretation of Chrisma's late 70s ode to love finds its complement in a refreshing arcane dancefloor expedition. Previously pressed as a private wedding present, "Amore" is now being officially released as a limited edition of 350 copies.

Roni Size's 1997 Mercury Music winning classic New Forms gets a fresh rewind some twenty years since it first landed and blew drum & bass into the mainstream.
A staple of many late '90s ravers listening habits, New Forms' blend of jazzy jungle with a hip-hop feel and sensibility saw Roni Size instantly propelled to the status of instant legend within the DNB community.A product of his hometown of Bristol, New Forms seemingly crossed the DNA of Bristol dub ala Smith & Mighty, the stoned roll of Tricky and Massive Attack and the hyper-sharp breaks 'n' beats of Size, DJ Krust and DJ Die's Full Cycle Recordings.

HNNY returns to Omena with 'Ta Paus', the long awaited return since the Grammy award winning debut album 'Sunday', released in 2015. Since the first release on Studio Barnhus back in 2011 Johan 'HNNY' Cederberg has had a prolific output and released his music on several labels such as Local Talk, Let's Play House & Permanent Vacation.In 2013 he set up his own label Yummy and Puss together with Kornel Kovacs.

With an especially deep, curled funk behind the ears, MK 32 directly controls an ocean of harmonic, resonating phenomena. At
the controls there is Ian Simmonds, the sail is raised by the Workshop steward Even Tuell, the free-spirited Dave Aju (Circus
Company) and the almost-label Namensgeber.

Sunlightsquare's first single of 2017, Oyelo, is a mixture of Jazz, Cuban and House music in its most authentic form. Starting with moody latin-jazz piano and sun-drenched live percussion played by master percussionist Giovanni Imparato, the track is driven by the classic house beat of the TR-909 - the legendary 1980's drum machine. Ronnie Scott's resident Cuban singer Rene Alvarez delivers the impassioned vocals, followed by the main man Claudio Passavanti's heated Montuno piano riffs, which combine seamlessly to create a blissful, dance-floor experience. It's a perfect marriage of organic grooves, lush beats and soulful vocals, joining the dots between different generations of latin dance music.

For the B side, London based, Japanese producer Kay Suzuki transformed the original track into his signature psychedelic journey in 2 parts. His By The Sea Mix takes you to the Havana beach with its synthesiser generated waves & seagulls right from the intro. The stripped-down beats and vocals are smoothly laid out with warm analogue synth textures, giving more space to Claudio's tasteful latin-jazz keyboard improvisations.

In contrast, the Drum Dub goes to the opposite side of the spectrum, all the musical elements have been removed, focusing solely on the live percussion and the raw TR-909 beat, all dubbed out with tape delays for a classic cosmic dub treatment.

Sunlightsquare has been associated with Latin & Cuban music since his top selling vinyl releases such as "I Believe In Miracles"(2010), "Pastime Paradise"(2010) and "Heart's Desire"(2012) as well as producing the main title of the soundtrack on the feature film "Cuban Fury" (Studio-Canal/Film4) starring Nick Frost (2014). Claudio's talent also extends to house music production with the 2016 Osunlade's Yoruba Soul Records release Celebration Of Oggun, as well as his remix work for Gilles Peterson's Brownwood Recordings.

I've always tried to make music for clubs and outward facing experiences, but often in spite of my best efforts I end up supplying a sound that translates best on a private level. The communal listening experience is great, but not my favorite, never been. I have been escaping into albums on a solo mission for as long as I can remember. As a result I've developed a familiar closeness with dealing with myself and the emotions I navigate on a daily basis. Heaven is for Quitters is at it's heart about dealing with yourself, both the good and the bad. I want to share this album with the hope that it can be used as I have, a guide, a blanket, a reassurance that the path I have chosen is the right one. It is my job to share my experience and there is a lot of work to be done here on Earth, the thought of going to Heaven too early is paralyzing. I venture to think you'll agree. When I started Blueberry Records I didn't fully know what I was creating. It is fitting then that I release Heaven is for Quitters on my label, as it has become abundantly clear how much I love this label and what it is and can be, my future but ultimately continue to be a platform for others as well. When artists hand me their demos I see what Blueberry can be, this megaphone for peoples inner existence and a clear channel for their articulation. For decades, if you wanted to listen to great music all you needed to do was stare at a screen! TV and film soundtracks were often the work of US legends such as Lalo Schiffrin, Oliver Nelson & Quincy Jones, and their Uk counterpartsRonnie Hazelhurst and Alan Hawkshaw, provided the soundtrack to the 60's & 70's at a time when film and TV music was unashamedly funky and featured the ensemble of choice for the jazz arranger.. the big band!

A 21st century musician with comparable skills is Andy Tolman - an astounding bass player, but also highly adept at writing & arranging for a big band and who is heavily influenced by those greatest practitioners of the art. Andy met to Nick van Gelder (the original Jamiroquai drummer) and keyboard guru Carl Hudson whilst doing a run of gigs backing artists like Leon Ware and Jean Carne. Andy played Nick You What! and he asked if he could lay a drum track down and at around the same time Carl offered his services on the record also. Nick went on to drum on the entire album and produce the recordings too.

At the tail end of 2011, when Freestyle Records A&R man Greg Boramans' compilation 'Sounds From The Soul Underground' was released the glorious noise of The Andy Tolman Cartel first came to public attention. The amazing track You What! had one foot in jazz-funk & the other in film & TV themes of the 60's and 70's, found champions in Jazz FM's Peter Young and BBC 6 Musics Craig Charles who both featured it on their radio shows heavily.

Andy himself takes up the story, "After You What! found it's way onto Gregs' compilation he asked me how many more tracks I had, I kind of lied (sorry Greg!) and said a whole albums worth. Having shot my mouth off I thought I had better set about delivering... a daunting prospect, and a promise I probably wouldn't have made had I been sober at the time. So I called upon the services of some of the amazing musicians I have worked with over the past few years. Move Over was the first song I heard Jo Harman sing and Stevie Watts award winning Hammond organ playing seemed like a natural fit too"

'Cypher' is indeed the perfect example of a natural fit of like minded musicians and their natural talents and the delightfully natural sound of a big band cutting loose that has not been heard for a long time making a welcome and long overdue return.

With his first release on co-owned Smallville-Label Lawrence aka Peter M. Kersten celebrates another tribute to more than 20 years of House Music.

Step Time Orchestra was the collaborative work of producers Jori Hulkkonen and Toumas Salmela, who began producing music together in the nineties whilst studying in Oulu, Finland. Whilst all their friends would be getting up early to go to university, they would only just be going to bed, having spent the night listening to house records from New York, drinking Whiskey and programming their MPC 2000!

Step Time produced a slew of tracks during this time, some of which were licensed and pressed on 12" singles during the late nineties/early noughties on labels operating in North America and Europe, but not everything they made saw the light of day. Heavily influenced by labels like Ibadan and Spiritual Life Music at the height of the New York House Scene, 'Jazz Error NYC' and '2am in Africa' were never signed, not fitting the profile of their other releases at the time, they were left in the drawer and sadly forgotten!

Skip forward to Winter 2016, and FBNM's Lorenzo, whilst over on a DJ excursion, visits Jori in Finland. Keen to keep working together, he presses him for something uniquely special. Magically, the Ajos E.P jumps out of the drawer into Hulkkonen's hand, and as it turns out, it has aged with a rather remarkable grace. Written using a combination of MPC sequencing and an Atari ST powering vanilla Cubase for some midi programming duties, it features the sounds of the Italian made Siel Opera 6, an Alesis S4 Rompler and other vintage Roland, Yamaha and Kawai Synths. They went full out on this one, even finally learning to play keys for that jazzy piano action. It was recorded live through a soundcraft analog board with outboard Fx, creating a sound that transcended it's time to feel remarkably fresh today!

The Ajos EP is named after an area in their native city of Kemi, Northern Finland, which is where they wrote and produced it in 1999.
