After more then a year, Italian label Kosmophono is back with their second chapter on vinyl. The tasty release features a selection of great artists and seductive sounds and gives you a taster of the many other great projects lined up on this label for this year.
For the A-side, Fuse London resident Antony Difrancesco joins forces with Dutch born Ferro and opens up with the aggressive and hypnotic "Des", with its tough drums and mesmerising pads. Next up is ''tINI and the Gang" regular, Crocodile Soup, who brings his deeper side into action on ''These Shoes Are Made For Walking'', a track that is elastic and seductive and expertly arranged. David Gtronic's signature drums and trippy pads then mark a stunning opening to the B-side on 'Down the Burrow' and last but not least, He Did closes the vinyl with "Algunas Palabras', a track with a mixture of minimalistic and natural sounds that make for compelling listening and perfectly showcase the He Did sound. This is a classy EP from a label that the world needs to get behind as they continue to grow.

After emerging from years of seclusion below the Chicago underground last year, Marquis Cooper aka Svengalisghost, returns with all new material recorded this winter somewhere between the woods of North Carolina and the streets of NYC. An advocate in creating what he calls the "Anti-Beat", Cooper takes what he's learned from the traditional machine experimentation of the early pioneers, reconstructs and retransmits the sounds which lie somewhere in the realm of unhinged synth punk or industrial forward-thinking beat electronics. These tracks are truly the essence of HOUSE, and a vicious circle it is.

Essential reissue!! The producer and dj from Chicago Joey Kay published in 1994 an EP that soon became a favorite of the 90s house DJs around the world: 'Eclectiz Ep'. The legendary label House Jam Records was responsible for editing and selling it. Nowadays, in 2016 (22 years later) the owners of the label Bons Records have been in contact with Joey Kay and they have been quick to reach an agreement to make a remastered edition of the great Eclectiz Ep including the same tracks that the original version but at an affordable price to everyone, not favoring the speculation around these kind of musical gems, mostly in platforms like Discogs. 'Eclectiz Ep' has been remastered by Robert Feuchtl (Fat Of Excellence) and will be distributed by Subwax.

Aus Music proudly present their final release of the year which brings with it the return of recent signing Paul Woolford. The Houndstooth and XL Recordings regular continues to refine the emotionally charged drama of his recent work and in doing so, enhances his constantly evolving catalogue with a continuation of the recent 'Heaven & Earth' EP on Aus. The 'Father, Son & Holy Ghost' EP sees Woolford propel heart-wrenching melodies with thunderous drums in a manner that only few are capable of. Progressing with resolute intent, the package includes 2 club-ready cuts and the beatless, string-laden 'Son' which completes a release of radically heightened compositional intensity and rounds off a stellar 2016 for Aus.

Volume 2 in Trax new re issue series "Chicago Trax", delves deeper into the archives to unearth more 'lost tracks' from the legendary Chicago house label.
Kicking off with "Dum Dum - Part 2" by Fresh (TX115 - 1986), following on from Part 1 which came out on Larry Sherman's Precision (named after his pressing plant) in 1984, and included a prototype version of what would become "Real Love" by Jesse's Gang. Its follow up, Part Two, produced by Jesse Saunders was just as basic consisting of bass, drums and the occasional squelch or stab.
Next up... Yes its him again - Farley Jackmaster Funk with "Give Your Self To Me" (TX116 - 1986). Featuring uncredited vocal performances from both Ricky Dillard and Kevin Irving, this is almost symphonic in comparison with some of Farley's previous foray's into the studio, possibly aided by the fact he utilised a producer, Danny Wilson, to finesse his efforts.
On the B side we start with Willie Wonka's "What Is House (TX122 - 1986). Dwayne Grant's name seems to have slipped off the radar, but this wasn't even his first release, having already recorded under the name Grant for Sherman's Precision the year prior to this. Unusually for some, "What Is House" is Linn drum-heavy and from memory, I believe this vocal comes from the producer reading an early piece written about Chicago house. Yet another underrated tune from the vaults.
Finally we have Radio Fashion "What You Deserve" (TX123 - 1987). An anomaly in the Trax catalogue, Radio Fashion would seem more at home an obscure Belgian label or even on Wax Trax! Although they did contribute to other house releases (like "The Jackin' National Anthem" on Hot Mix 5), vocalist Jim Romano turned up on a Die Warzau album in the early 90's doing background vocals.

The next chapter in the Creme Organization Ecplise series comes from Cosmic Garden with three original tracks and one remix from Orgue Electronique. Little is known about Cosmic Garden other than he is from Southern Italy and has had two EPs out in 2016, one on HotMix and one on Cosmic Rhythm. He heads out the blocks here with 'Reptilian Treant', six minutes of lo-fi deep house that is roomy and atmospheric. Lazy synths bring soul and a gentle chatter of claps and hits helps drive it along. 'Rare Centaur' is also way below the surface but is darker and more celestial, with turbulent bass, frantic claps and angelic chords glowing like a white light at the end of a tunnel. Dutch house and electro don Orgue Electronique then remixes 'Reptilian Treant' into something that is slick and serene, with metallic lines dancing above rubbery drums as big piano chords boucle up top. It is joyous and colourful and truly majestic before final track 'Apocalyptic Moose' takes us back down into a mournful house vibe that echoes Chicago with its roughhewn analogue textures and lovestruck chords.

Eduardo De La Calle brings back to Memento his trademark
analogue sounds and musical experimentations with the Golden Archives 1 EP. Two tracks that once again define the Spanish maverick's personal hybrid of Detroit Techno and European Electronica, veering into psychedelic territory and progressive rhythms, and continuing to explore the outer limits of the underground scene. 'Missing You (Edit)''s chants and deep soulful atmospherics build up with emotional piano melodies, while 'Quasicalligraphic''s mechanical stabs and ghostly synths are accompanied by spectral percussions and melancholic chords.

The Chicago house master aka Mr Mike Dunn returns to moreaboutmusic with some fresh new material taken from his forthcoming album due in 2017.

'FT', which Sean describes as 'electronic, psychedelic soul', sees him collaborate with an extraordinarily diverse range of artists, spanning some of the most significant underground musical icons of the past 40 years. This stellar collection of artists includes:- Yoko Ono, avant garde musician, conceptual artist and one of the most controversial female artists of all time, Bootsy Collins, widely regarded as one of the finest Funk/R'n'B bass players in the world, Dave Ball, co-founder of Soft Cell, notorious UK synth pioneers with the uniquely sleazy electric soul sound, Fred Schneider from the manic, bizarre and highly innovative US new-wave group B-52's and Alan Vega, vocalist of the essential and groundbreaking New York duo Suicide. A full list of collaborating artists is below.Hifi Sean is the songwriter, DJ and producer Sean Dickson. He is most famously known as front man of the Scottish band The Soup Dragons, responsible for a series of huge hit singles, 'I'm Free', 'Divine Thing', and 'Mother Universe'. Dickson was also the main creative force behind the follow-up project The High Fidelity, a much more artful and intimate project, critically acclaimed for the releases 'Demonstration' and 'The Omnichord Album' . Those albums included two very rare musical collaborations between Dickson and legendary Radio DJ John Peel and also the late Mickey Finn (one half of 70's musical giants T-Rex). In some ways, this was the germination of an idea that would provide the conceptual foundation behind 'FT Sean underwent a total musical reinvention at the turn of the millennium, evolving and transforming his creative energies from a guitar playing band front-man to a DJ. He began playing house, disco and electro in Glasgow's burgeoning and innovative club scene, before relocating to London in 2006 where he began to become a staple figure at deep house underground and afterhours clubs.As the artist Hifi Sean he is now a highly respected DJ and producer, having held residencies at Fire, Ministry of Sound, Shoreditch House and Savage Disco, as well as playing regular international shows in Europe and the USA.In creating 'FT', Sean has carefully fused elements from his past and present musical lives into something unique and joyous:The album is a journey through psychedelic dance rhythms, and electronic and soulful moods, drawing from elements of Disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, and London underground party roots. 'FT' is at once an homage to the foundations of his musical heart and a determined attempt to forge something new and vital from the sounds that have fuelled his life in music. It is also partly an autobiography in audio of the past 15 years of his life observing dancefloors, and growing as a producer.The album guides the listener from soulful euphoria to Balearic bliss, new wave punk-house to conceptual cosmic voyage, ending with the crescendo of the full-on orchestral movement 'A Kiss Before Dying' with Alan Vega from Suicide. 'Sidetracking - Part 1: Prologue' is the first vinyl taste of Jona's de- but album project for Alex Niggemann's forward-thinking AEON la-bel. The musical puzzle will be completed in February 2016 with the release of a second vinyl instalment, featuring 6 more original tracks, and the full 10-track album on CD format. Created over the course of two highly creative years, the concept for 'Sidetracking' was for Jona to invite some of his musician and producer friends to collaborate with him in the studio and compli- ment his album's solo productions. This impressive coming together (to be fully revealed over the coming months) features Varoslav (Rue de Plaisance, Paris), Usio (Studio Barnhus), David K (Cocoon), Bo- livian percussionist Daniel Aguilar, Italian pianist Giovanni Verga, and Edinburgh-based producer The Reverse Engineer. Driven by his desire to explore new sound perspectives and ideas, Jona has carefully forged his career path by consistently creating exciting and forward-thinking music. His previous label outings: 'Traffic' on 'Lost Tapes Volume 1' (AEON010) and 'Gemini EP' (AE- ON016) have seen him fine-tune his own unique sound. By incor- porating a wide range of styles into his tracks, Jona strives to break down unnecessary boundaries and explores new ideas and ways to ignite that hallowed dancefloor flame. It is therefore no wonder that his collaborative creations for 'Sidetracking' have yielded such stimulating aural delights. Fittingly, the album prologue opens with a track whose style is heav- ily influenced by the jazz music that Jona was so in love with dur- ing his formative years. Calling on the somewhat mysterious Usio (whose 'Kuwa Huru' LP on Studio Barnhus should be checked by everyone) to join him in a studio jam, has resulted in 'The Chase', an utterly compelling afro-beat influenced percussive groove, topped with swirling funk-fuelled stabs and strings, mesmerising chiming piano, and a large helping of pure, hip-swinging goodness. Taking 'The Chase' on an entirely different and yet perfectly com- plimentary twisted trip, AEON family members Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin (aka Speaking Minds) conjure up a futuristic technoid disco demon that is all about throbbing energy, sweat, darkness and hissing smoke machines - perfect ingredients for an unforget- table strobelight serenade. Changing the mood entirely and cutting the tempo to a dublicious skank, 'Transmission Breakdown' sees Jona's experimental creative juices in full flow, as he teams up with Edinburgh-based digital com- poser and sound artist Dave House (aka The Reverse Engineer) for a delightfully hazy downtempo jam. Both as an artist and a DJ, Manchester's Marcus Intalex has been at the forefront of soulful, musical drum & bass for what seems like forever. A passion for techno has always run deeply through his music and under his Trevino moniker he is also a powerful creative force (check his recent 'Front' album to get the full picture). Here, he takes 'Transmission Breakdown' on a magical excursion, filled with subtle, hypnotic, evolving energy, anchored with an irresistible pul- sating bassline throb - a perfectly synergetic interpretation to round off Jona's 'Sidetracking' album prologue in style.

With a recent sell-out self-release from Telfort and a highly anticipated debut from Hi and Saberhägen on Huntleys + Palmers, the cast of this debut 12' sampler is as strong as Plutonian steel! Newcomer Philip Budny begins our journey with a crystalline aural interpretation of the waterfalls of Bali, ahead of Hi and Sabes' rhythmic raga. On the flipside is a meditative offering from Telfort, reminiscent of a smoky hangover after a rave in the dungeons of Kinshasa, before chief commanding officer Percy Main's finale zooms 50 years into Sheffield's funktopian future with a bumpy dancefloor robo-killer.

After kicking off with a delightfully classy deep house EP from Chicago's Strong Souls, D3 Elements - the label run by the same person as Vibes And Pepper Records - offers up its second EP, The Black 3 EP.
This one comes from another forgotten Chicago producer who shouldn't have ever been forgotten. His name is Brian Harden and he hasn't released anything since 2005. Before then he was a regular on the influential Moods & Grooves label, as well as Relief and and was also a part of the Strictly Jaz Unit crew and Nite Life collective.
First up, 'Qunu' is a ping ponging affair with spritely drums and springy percussion that dance about like a cat on a hot tin roof. Golden pads and a hooky melody phrases bring warmth and colour and it's a refreshingly odd combination. A2 'Days of Days' is a more cerebral and deep affair with wholly lush chords, gentle ticking percussion than pans around the airwaves and a squelchy bassline scurrying about down below. Light and airy at the same time as being married to a compelling groove, it's a master class in genuinely musical house.
Finally, 'Chicago to Detroit' takes up the whole of the flip side. This one is a mix between the percussive drive of the first and the deeper grooves of the second: chords are woozy, drum hits are kinetic and the bulbous bassline sounds pleasingly drunk as it rides up and down of its own accord.
Once again D3 has unearthed some fantastic deep house sounds from a lesser-known producer that everyone should really know about.

Having dabbled with lower tempos of house and techno in recent years on his Exit Records imprint and Convex Industries, dBridge's
4/4 alter ego 'Vevit' presents his debut EP for Electric Minds in the form of the 'Nudge EP' - where two varied cuts display his tactful
use of restraint and release for club tools which, if put in the right hands, can alter the state of play on the dancefloor.
The EP's lead offering 'Nudge' explores the dubbier regions of techno with vocal sample snippets prominent throughout that are
coupled with boisterous kick drums that give the track ample space to breathe. His focus on clinical drum programming and delayed
chords are skilfully here as they patiently ebb and flow throughout the entirety of the track's dramatic six-minute duration. On the b-
side he showcases his slightly more up-tempo sensibilities with quietly electrifying number 'The Act' which sees him turn up the
accomplished Electric Minds debut.

A key artist in the shaping of electronic music, Dan Curtin has explored many styles in his career and now he has come full circle. The hardware repopulates the studio, bringing with it the inventive, organic techno sound he is most fondly known for, this time with a modern twist. These tracks take you to the heart of the man and are some of his best work.

French Kitchen is a label of electronic music and intelligent sounds recipes based in Paris. It was born in 2012 by the chief's hands of the music duo SuCré SaLé and their cocobeach friends. How to cook. A fashionable sweet and salty Techno recipe: Take a good soft Kick and simmer in a light reverb effect. Add Hight Hat, crashes and percussions. Sprinkle a good pinch of Balkanique groove. Melt a good motivating base and add it to the mixture. Add the nappees, A few vocals freshly recorded and two returns. Cover in breadcrumbs and let it cook as long as a Rakia.

Houle. Taking some of their cues from the likes of Drexcyia and Mark Bell, the duo have a sound somewhere between darkened

Techno and physical EBM.
The title track 'Losing Control' is a raw and stripped back bit of house music with a taught bassline, eerie robot voices and plenty of industrial grit and grime in the textures on offer. It's heavy warehouse music but retains a great sense of dynamism before 'Kabuki Playboy' lays down a rich, rasping bassline and has various shooting synths dance all around it. The claps are metallic and grainy
And the mood is one you'd find at a deserted industrial estate in the dead of night. 'Isolation' verges on electro with again a gnarly
Bassline and great sense of wide open but futuristic space. A clatter of hits and spaceship like synths all circle round the groove and it's another hugely evocative track.
Minimal techno master Marc Houle then remixes 'Isolation' into something with more echo and menace buried within. It's a subtle

Rework but one that makes the track that bit more fearsome and moody. First digital bonus 'Oni' is a sparse affair that relies on its alien Voices and spaceship like sounds to craft a very real atmosphere and ambiance where robots and machines rule the roost. It's crisp And analogue, slyly funky and seriously heady. The second digital bonus is a remix of 'Kabuki Playboy' by Monoblok & PSLKTR that

Gets even more heavy and physical with ripping bass notes, dumpy kick drums and serene, searching synths subtly lighting up the

backdrop.
This is a fine EP that really takes you to another world entirely thanks to the studious production and great sense of mood
throughout. As such, Vosper are very much a duo on the rise.

John Tejada does not really need any introduction - he is simply a phenomenon.
Starting with his first releases in the mid nineties, he has been constantly expanding on his massive catalogue of singles, remixes and albums released on well known US and European Techno, House and Electronic Music labels and there seems to be no end in sight. In addition to his output on prestigious labels such as Playhouse, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, 7th City, Kompakt, and others he has also been running his own Palette Recordings imprint since 1996.
John Tejada´s EP for Slices Of LIfe make reference to his earlier releases that were beloved by DJ´s for their driving energy and an occasional wink of humor. The three tracks on - Times LIke This' combine a musical glance back to earlier times, while showcasing Tejada´s high level production skills of today: A Slice from the past without being nostalgic.
