House Vinyl New Releases - News

Crafty 1990s Deep House rooted cut in two versions

Number 3 on Ruff Draft comes from Louis Guilliaume. Having met Louis back in 2009 and followed his music since way before then, it was an exciting day when we received these tracks from him. Known more for his harder edge techno productions on labels such as Soundtravels, Bio Rhythm Holland, Teng, SD Holland and a remix on Skudge, here he edges slightly away from that harder sound. The tracks vary from deep, groovy and meandering house to a beatless soundscape reminiscent of early Larkin and Pullen to a powerful kick drum driven sermon.

Welcoming the newly formed Son of Sun outfit to the Love Fever stable.

A duo formed in the lost summer of 2013 over a week cruising a yacht round the Black Sea. These auso egptian warriors got straight into the studio in Berlin....

With their follow up release to the sell out record on VR (and it's stunning Legowelt remix) is the Whispers EP, two solid steel tracks recalling sweaty Dance Mania hip-house dance floor call & response tunes, dropping in a packed out basement whilst the floor bounces, the red light swings. all and sundry to the dance-floor and maybe later to the bedroom.

On the A Moonchild begins, percussion, driving bass and the Tone Loc of House it's a combo ! close your eyes and imagine you with your hands in the air at Panorama on Sunday morning sweating bang the shutters go open.

The flip is Whispers and showcases Sheff's more sensitive side simplicity reigns with a lick that will have you singing it over and over in the shower. Belt it out you Chaka Khan wannabies and remember to practice safe sax.

That man CHICAGO DAMN brings THE FILTH for the third release on his eponymous label. Unique and incredible modern club music of the highest calibre right here on this 3 track EP

We're proud to announce the next 12" on Tomorrow Is Now, Kid!
produced by talented Turkish/Dutch producer Anil Aras.
Anil took his trustworthy TR-909, programmed his signature hard-
hitting percussion and let emotion take over. Reminiscent of the heydays
of US Garage, '1994' brings an uplifting set of piano's and strings whilst
retaining a true hardcore dance floor vibe. On the flip side, 'You & I'
truly captures peak time clubbing euphoria into one powerful track.

After a storming debut from label boss Cottam, Ruff Draft returns with release number 2 from rising star LK, fresh from his release 'Body & Soul' on Big Doint.
First up 'Valentino', a 12 minutes basement jam that mixes old school Detroit stylings with a beatdown vibe - a gorgeous track that will keep both head and feet moving all night long. 'Mark It (take 3)' that follows mixes deep chords with crunchy drums, an afro-centic shuffle with twinkly synths for a track that could be Osunlade at his most soulful. Finally 'Oolong' is an old school house track of the best possible kind, simple effective body music for the floor.

On our never ending search to provide you with uplifting, energetic and soulful tracks, we stumbled upon a young DJ duo from The Netherlands that have only just begun their story and yet have their sound locked down. New Jack City seem to understand exactly what it is we're looking for and have crafted three splendid tracks purely for the enjoyment of others. To top it all off we've enlisted signor Gianni Siravo a.k.a. Washerman for a remix which captures the spirit of Tomorrow Is Now, Kid!
We hope you enjoy this EP as much as we have creating it.

Italy's Giovanni Damico return to Seven after the success of his EP with the label, earlier in 2013. The 'Old Feelings' EP was supported by a broad spectrum of DJs, with leading names including Laura Jones, Hunee and Jacques Renault. Since that time, Giovanni has gone on to release more high-end music of top labels such as Landed, Skylax, Geography and Black Key. So it's a welcome return for the Italian to the belfast based imprint. This time for a special vinyl only release on Seven's 'Seven Limited (7LTD)' sublabel. The EP kicks off with a deep, groovy, Chicago inspired track entitled 'Summer Rain'. then leading into '2 Birds' which has a jazzier and deeper feel, reminiscent of many MCDE track. The B side then takes things a little more underground. 'Polo' starts with a more latin House vibe, but when the acid kicks in we're led straight to Detroit. Finishing up the release is 'Balboa Jab'. The funky and live feel of this track is the perfect way to end yet another excellent release for Giovanni and Seven!

Belfast meets Chicago in the latest offering from Extended Play.

Following on from JC Williams 'In Your Arms' release they bring you four solid club workouts that combine to make the Allied Forces EP.

A heavyweight 40th release featuring two originals from Belfast crew members Chris Hanna and Martin De Brig and for extra punch they have invited deadly analogue warrior Amir Alexander to add his deft touch to both originals.

Chris Hanna's Moonshine will no doubt be added to most DJ's arsenal over the coming months, it's tense electronic riff will cut through any dance floor like a knife and leave no one unscathed and with Amir's deadly beat re fix to back it up you are guaranteed to hear Moonshine in a club any time soon.

Martin De Brig is another Belfast artist that has joined the ranks of Extended Play, his love of hardware and all things house and techno grabbed the attention of label heads JMX and Timmy 'T-Bone' Stewart so much that they swore him straight in after hearing his initial offerings.

De Brig's first output on the label is a proper acid house jam, percolating claps, a 303 line, spacious arrangement and a stellar vocal all working together to create a standout vocal gem.

Amir pitches the vocal deeper and takes a detour down a slightly darker avenue than the original. Thankfully, deeper and darker by no means equals boring here, as a rolling bass line and his trademark killer percussive patterns really keep things moving, demonstrating why Extended Play were so keen to join forces with him in the first place.

Play On!

Local Talk is proud to present a release featuring Clemens Kahlcke aka Clé, also known as 1/2 of Märtini Brös. A true veteran in the electronic dance music scene with several releases on established labels, including Poker Flat, Dessous and liebe*detail.

The title track The Jam is a classic deep house track, cleverly layered with elements that builds the track gradually, giving it real drive and purpose.

Dirtytwo is on a roll and after remixing HNNY last month the dynamic duo continues to make house magic, their take on the original is another winner. The sharp beats, shuffly hihats, short staccato strings rips the track to dramatic effect and a guaranteed weapon in any DJ's set.

Limited to 300 copies only !
A special triple pack vinyl release in bespoke wide spine, heavy card sleeve.
Features all seven Trus'me remixes from Marcel Dettman, Norman Nodge, DVS1, Terrence Dixon, Ben Klock, Vakula & Ryan Elliott.
Also includes a CD in printed card sleeve with all remixes plus two Nick Sinna tracks from his Voyager E.P with remixes from JTC ( Dabrye ) & Conforce.

All of the Trus'me remixes on offer here are extreme reworkings pushing into new territory but managing to maintain some familiarity to the original tracks. Both Dettmann & Klock provide classic workouts in their trademark hynotic techno style. Ryan Elliott & Norman Nodge strip things back with muted-dub chuggers. DVS1 takes things very deep with a throbbing bass heavy production. Whilst Vakula & Terrence Dixon really push the boundaries, paranoid 303 acid and tuff breaks from the former & psyched-out detroit moves from the latter.
Serious dancefloor material.

Warehouse Find - Test Pressing!

Kyodai have had a strong run of releases since their debut here on Freerange last year. Their Mi Rumba EP must have impressed a lot of people as they went on to
release a follow up EP for Mad Mats blossoming Local Talk label and also have an EP due on Pokerflat in the coming weeks. Kerri Chandler dug it enough to
include on his RA podcast and it was also picked up for the Cielo Compilation on Nervous.

Mr. Resmann is back with some experiences from the lost paradise. He has eaten A(pples) crispy, juicy. And always remind: an apple a day keeps the doctor away! Slightly high from Vitamine C(hord) he was taking place on cloud B to swing in the rhythm of live and takes a ride out his funkiest places from where he got back in happiness.

After setting the tone at Born Electric's Boiler Room take over, Sheffield's Pedram primes his debut release on James Zabiela's label Born Electric.
With early support from Midland (who opened his Deckmantel set with Nina) George FitzGerald, Dusky and Tensnake, Nina/Immaturity demonstrates a knack for deeply musical production and marks a promising development in the Born Electric sound.
Nina opens things up with soft and rueful pads that overlap to build a rich, evolving texture. Delicately frayed percussion progresses alongside a cosmic bass sequence that sits below sparse but effective vocal chops Equally sincere, "Immaturity" slowly labours forth with droplets of soft
synths and soulful vocals. Yawning pads and staggered percussive lines develop as a 4/4 rhythm subtly emerges.
Early support from Midland, Tensnake and Dusky

Handle with care!

A mesmerizing dark techno statement from this Hamburgian Art School child prodigy. Curated with care by the label's dedicated A&R movement to maximize revenue in the contemporary musical playing field. On a more serious note; Hamburg based producer Yr is next up on Dutch powerhouse Creme Organization with a four track EP that continues in his muddy and muddled techno tradition. Yr has won himself many fans with but a few releases on labels like Purple Maze and shtum and as such deserves this step-up to Creme. Taking up the whole of the a-side, opener 'Lack Of Being' is a swampy brew of slowly churning, buried deep drums, droning synths and crackling static that conveys a real sense of loneliness and pain. B1 cut 'Unbennant' is a more propulsive cut with driven kick drums racing along beneath spangled and sinewy synth lines. Train track like percussive embellishes the sense of groove and then 'Torn' continues to canter along, with juddering drums sounding like they might collapse at any minute. Again it feels like you are on some broken old train racing to somewhere ominous. Last track 'Apophis' is a little cleaner and more crisp, with icy hi hats, late night howling synth patterns and nimble, elastic basslines. This is darkly atmospheric music that is as uneasy to listen to as it is wholly captivating.

Solar One Music is back with their "The Crystal Issue" series. After Mantra's debut now Nigel Rogers better known as Perseus Traxx presents his authentic chicago house on this series. Moody synths, rattling drum machines and bubbling Acid at its best. Two tracks for the dancefloor and for your mind. Limited edition on green, clear, one single-sided vinyl No digital release!

For the second instance in their reissue series, Echovolt Records treat us with four lush New Jersey house gems, originally recorded by Wayne Gardiner in the early 1990s. Now remastered and pressed loud... TIP!!

Wayne Gardiner is mostly known for his releases under the 'Logic' and 'Classic Man' monikers, on labels such as Nervous and Strictly Rhythm. In 1991-1992 Gardiner released two EPs on New Jersey's 'Right Area' Records imprint, under his lesser known 'Sound Source' alias. For their second official reissue, Echovolt Records select the best moments from those two releases and make them available onto one EP, with extra mastering of the original DAT files.

"I wanted to create an ambient project full of space and time. The Naked Theme EP was just that. The title "naked theme" means - all music creation for this project is original concepts and came from objects of pure thought... music creation comes from mental and physical capacities.... music is, and always will be an exact impression of one's inner self, an expression from within" (Wayne Gardiner, 2014)

Quietly making his entrance into the club: Terekke once again delivering low key yet powerful, haze inducing productions. On this record he moves through various worlds, sometimes uplifting, sometimes nodding out - maybe even entering into the darker ambient side of the spectrum. Either way, these cuts are take you into the zone with no turning back. TIP

Quick-firing into the new year, Doc Daneeka's Ten Thousand Yen returns with the absolute dance heat that is Bodhi, 'I Need You E.P.'

The pair rose to prominence over the last two years with deft mixes for people like The XX & Sampha and London Grammer. Releasing original material via channels like Grizzly and Australia's Future Classic, Bodhi join forces with their Welsh compatriots at Ten Thousand Yen for these collection of rough and ready, yet soul burning dance floor bombs. These have been doing serious business in the clubs. I NEED YOU!

Early Support From:

Skream - 'BIG!'

DJ Mag - Mark Gurney - 8/10 .

The first of two remix discs of Ivano's excellent LP. Up first are Bristol residents 'Outboxx' who bring a slick electro vibe to '113'; Chilled and melodic with a classic sounding b-line, this is one of the best remixes to feature on the label to date. Flip for two remixes by Roger Gerressen, a member of the ESHU collective along with Mr Tetelepta. His '117' remix is a slick house affair again with the b-line very much in the fore. His take on '119' is a much deeper affair, dubbed in it's outlook with the melancholic piano stabs of the original a main feature.

Semesters returns with the III in the series. Absolute killers here as to be expected, and judging by Qu's recent output (YYGrec etc) this is sure to fly out of the door extremely quickly. Please pre-order to avoid disappointment!

Ali's new highly anticipated single 'Another' has been dubbed one of the most requested tracks of the summer from label boss Damian Lazarus. Co-produced with Steve Dub 'Another' pumps a four to the floor beat with glitchy percussion and distinctive psychedelic vocals. Techno soul at its best.

The single comes with remixes from Tuff City Kids (aka Gerd Janson & Phillip Laur) and the inimitable Felix Da Housecat. Tuff City Kids channel Reese, and drive it deeper, whilst Felix Da Housecat smooth's things out and turns the emotion dial to 11.

Ali is busy putting the finishing touches to next year's album. 'Another' is a sign of big things to come.

The mystical fairy tale of lord Chris De Slurgh of the highest bavarian highlands ends here. It was just a matter of time until the malignant and breathtaking small Sepp Spidin unleashed his Healin chi waves to conquer Tape Castle. Therefore lady Calyx, the lords beloved affair with each of her fingers of 180g weight, requested a chastity out of the purest vinyl only to continue Filming Arroyo without any fear. And then Bavaria was born. In other words this 4 tracker supported by your mum manages to come along heavy without rippin off some folk song and putting some lame ass ritterbeat underneath it.

DJ W!LD's 'Sweet & Spicy EP' is the 10th release on the Parisian's own imprint 'The W Label' and see's W!LD continue the fine form that has seen him reach the #8 spot in Resident Advisor's 'Most Charted Artists of
2012'. W!LD's unique style of stripped-to-the-bone crunching beats, probing basslines and almost impossibly long, captivating breakdowns have seen him grace labels including Cabin Fever/Rekids (who released his album 'D!RTY'), One Records, Act Natural, Snork Enterprises, Robsoul and Catwash amongst many others in the past 12 months. The 'Sweet & Spicy EP' continues in the same vein all carefully road-tested by W!LD, the focus is on the dancefloor with influences From funk to acid all underpinned by those strong relentless grooves. A stalwart of the tech and deep house scene, DJ W!LD's career path began in the clubs of Paris in 1996. Working with Chris Carrier from 2005 under the name of Catwash (which also spawned the label) he became well known in the French house and techno scene. By 2009 he was touring the world, represented by the legendary Cocoon agency and playing their worldwide events, as well as landing a residency he retains for Circo Loco at DC-10 in Ibiza and becoming a regular feature on their international tours. The W Label launched in 2011 and was home to W!LD's critically acclaimed
Palace' album and the club destroying singles it contained. The label is a place for W!LD's own productions, alongside that of his friends, allowing them reflect on experiences and musical influences. The label motto is 'we have W!LD records'and outings by Kerri Chandler, Art Department, Sis, Chris Carrier, Radio Slave, Phil Weeks and W!LD certainly back that up!

Since his first single 'Masquerade' dropped on vinyl just over a year ago, Forrest's profile has continued to rise, with releases on Noir Music and Mobilee and forthcoming on Visionquest.

This latest release EP, his debut for Midnight Vision, demonstrates Forrest's versatile sound. The lead track 'Shiny Suit Man' blends hypnotic, cheeky vocals with dusty drums to create a roller, which sounds great both in the headphones and on the dancefloor.

My Factory continues on the deep tip mixes with vocal samples and modulating synth lines creating a smokey atmosphere. A slinky bassline drives the track along and will get any floor moving.

Beverly Hills teases us with an uncomplicated arrangement of more slick house with sustained strings providing the tension and a great use of a female vocal sample.

New kids on the block Bodhi bring a garage swing to their remix of Shiny Suit Man kicks. Heavy syncopated 808's paired with shuffling synths bring a new flavour to the EP.

1500 bodies writhing to a relentless beat; don't be surprised if the soundtrack to that moment is 'The Black Lodge' over the coming months. This 13-minute beast rampages along; creaking, cracking and crunching at every possible opportunity. Indefinable sounds emerge from afar, only to disappear into the vortex and then reappear throughout to dramatic effect. A master class in automation, the elements echo, pan and filtrate, with only the finest sound systems able to truly do the production justice.

Philadelphia native Hollis P Monroe is a man who has been slowly
and steadily building a respectable catalogue of music since his
debut on Canadian label Stickman in 1997. Appearances on Josh
Wink's Ovum and the legendary West End label have all helped
establish Hollis as a talented writer, producer, vocalist and DJ
having recently been drafted in for collaborations with the likes
of KiNK, Trickski and Rampa. Here we find him producing under his
new moniker The Black 80s in collaboration with Frank Julien, and
following hot on the heels of a killer release for Compost Black
Label.
For their Freerange debut The Black 80s have created an expansive
slice of deep, electronic house on Move On. The expertly crafted
minimal production really highlights the warmth of the song and
creates space for the vocal to shine. Tried and tested by Jimpster
from South Africa to Berlin, this is a standout track with that
perfect balance of raw simplicity for the dancefloor and depth for
longevity.
On the Overnight Mix of Move On things tread in a more
experimental, leftfield direction with filtering breaks and layers
of dust and noise creating an abstract and edgy backing,
complimenting the sweetness of the vocal perfectly.
Finally, we have Kollektiv Turmstrasse providing their own
inimitable spin on their remix, fattening up the beats and adding
more drive which builds perfectly to the breakdown where we're
introduced to an echoing bassline and finally, the full vocal.

A great taster EP for the album..

Back in 2005, Still Music made history by releasing one of the most acclaimed and legendary compilation about Detroit Beatdown music, somewhere between Detroit techno, house and soul. Featuring Rick Wilhite, Delano Smith, Marcellus Pittman, Mike Huckaby, Amp Fiddler and a few more, In The Dark: The Soul Of Detroit showcased a pool of talents that is now established worldwide. Highly sought after, In The Dark was repressed in 2012 and was an immediate success. This October, Still Music is proud to present the follow up to this great compilation: In The Dark: Detroit Is Back.

Diving again in Detroit's most talented pool of underground artists, In The Dark: Detroit Is Back brings to the foreground 24 tracks (DCD) produced by the who's who of Detroit's thriving electronic music scene. Marcellus Pittman, Delano Smith, Rick Wilhite, Amp Fiddler and Keith Worthy are back along with a few newcomers and familiar names: Terrence Dixon, Dj 3000, Gerald Mitchell, Alex Israel, Craig Huckaby (Mike's brother), Patrice Scott, Reggie Dokes and a lot more.

Like its predecessor, In The Dark: Detroit Is Back, focuses on techno, soul and house, it is a journey through Detroit's basement clubs, studios and warehouses, an uncompromising view of one of the most progressive music city in the world.

Detroit Is Back.

The first of a number of various artists eps from the DBA camp.

For the sixth instalment of their highly collectable Black Ops series, the Sleazy Beats chaps welcome Andy Hart back to the fold.
While Andy is certainly not new to the production game - the man has an impressive string of tracks on esteemed labels like Quintessential, Foto, Box Aus Holz and his own Melbourne Deepcast imprint under his belt - The Love Technology EP is in fact his first solo outing on wax !

He couldn't have delivered a better debut if he tried.

Title track Love Technology is a moody basement chugger that fuses the gentle and the raw effortlessly. Building on a basic groove with clever funk samples and sharp claps, Hart keeps subtly adding new elements and layers to proceedings. Intricate simplicity never sounded so good !

On the B Side there's Jasmine, a warm slice of deep house pie with sweet synth lines, classic piano melodies and the kind of rolling drums that made Hart & Graef's collabs so outstanding. Sharing the side is Aquarius. Take one exceedingly infectious groove from an underground disco classic, add subtle percussion, some kick ass drums, Andy's masterful arrangement and the result is a classy Summer anthem that may just become one of the biggest party starters of 2014.

As always, this is a limited, vinyl only release. It will not be repressed and will not be released digitally. Not now, not ever.

Back with more dance floor weapons, One Records bring you Alex Arnout and 'One Nation' featuring the legendary Tyree Cooper. Killer remixes come courtesy of Cocoon and Cadenza favourite Argy and Dame Music's Bloody Mary.

Dogmatik boss Alex Arnout has been a firm staple in the One Records crew since the huge hit 'Vanishing Point' was released on the label back in 2011. For this next venture on One he offers a true slice of Chicago house featuring the Midwest favourite Tyree Cooper. An absolute hero for Alex and label heads Subb-an and Adam Shelton since they first heard his seminal tracks including 'Turn Up The Bass' and 'Move Your Body', they all jumped at the chance of having him involved in the release. With a punching beat and deep chords holding the rhythm, melodic keys soon creep into the foreground, complimented perfectly by Cooper's sensational voice.

Originally from Greece, first class DJ and producer Argy takes the reins for the first remix, offering a peak time house bomb like only he can. A firm favourite in the One Records camp yet making her first appearance on the label, Bloody Mary twists 'One Nation' with her sultry edge. Dark and hypnotic, she uses her own voice with added synths and a deep dose of acid.

With a string of successful releases and a hectic touring schedule already in place, Alex is soon to launch his new record label Convert alongside his existing Dogmatik imprint. Watch out for the first release featuring his new vocalist Tempo O'Neill called 'Alex Arnout Presents Project 16'.
