Detroit's cult house champion dropped the original version of 'Another Man' back in 2019, but as with all his music, it is pretty hard to age it on the sounds alone. The title cut is a perfect example of his style - low-slung, undercooked beats that hit hard but with soul, a superb vocal sample well chosen and well deployed and some fuzzy, lo-fi synth warmth. 'SUV's Aka Fatass Mobile's' then strips things right back to thronging chords and pressured beats that feel like they will drown you but never do. As essential now as ever.

Detroit-born, Atlanta-based house don Kai Alce has really put his adopted hometown on the map. His own NDATL label is in part responsible for that and is now where he returns for a series of remixes of Mausiki Scales. His rework of 'Ozim' is pure Afro heat with trilling guitars and stiff claps, the version of Let The Drum Remind You' he serves up is full of soul and Ibiza sunset-style magic with sexy sax riffs, then comes a smooth mix of the opener with more blissed out vibes and last of all is the dreamy and romantic deep house of his remix of the soul-drenched 'Mezmerized'.

"Zopelar makes his debut on the Clone Royal Oak series with a 4 track Ep, delivering some of his unique blend of house grooves firmly rooted in the 90's Chicago, New York and Detroit house traditions. Pedro Zopelar is a musical wizard from Sao Paulo and is twisting the classic sounds and production methods into a fresh sonic Brazilian Caipirinha cocktail."

1 – For My People
A low-slung groover, “For My People” opens the EP in fine form. Soft chords lay the groundwork as the bassline bobs and weaves through the rhythm section. Liquid synth stabs soon punctuate the groove, as dreamy layers float in and out. Without a doubt, this is a high quality head-nodder and a dancefloor delight.

2 – Let’s Dance
Elevating the BPMs ever-so-slightly, “Let’s Dance” gets moving with a proper, straight ahead rhythm, sprinkled with just enough shuffle to add that P. Scott signature. Blippy keys bounce atop a backdrop of sweet synth chords while the bassline punches through in refined fashion. This is the Sistrum brand of deep, hypnotic, spiritual house music, straight up.

3 - Abstract Jazz
This one is all about those keys… Amidst the crisp, punchy beats, the electric piano dances and hypnotizes. There is really only one option when this cut is on the system - close your eyes and feel it.

4 - The Detroit Track
Nothing less than an homage to his hometown and the sounds and culture that have shaped a musical revolution, “The Detroit Track” is a study in timeless quality. Jazzy synth riffs, punchy bass, spacey echoes and classic, shuffled beat structures remind us that Detroit house music has a special magic unto itself. Feel the magic and let it move you.

Over the past decade Tuccillo has steadily honed his craft as a producer and is now widely known and beloved for his contemporary twist on raw groove driven House music which has found a home on the likes of Nu Groove, Kwench, Melodeum, Holic Trax his own Unblock label and of course Kaoz Theory where he returns here following 2023’s ‘The Waves’ EP.

Title-cut ‘Sundown’ leads the release on a deep house tip with a swinging drum groove, airy chord sequences, intricate filtered vocals and a funk-infused bass line. ‘Holding On’ then shifts gears into Chicago House territory via a bouncy bassline and dubbed out vocal chops, intertwined with a playful organ melody, tension building strings and skippy percussion.

‘Whatever’ then opens the b-side with a more stripped-back feel, laying focus on crisp, low-slung drums, hypnotic atmospherics, choppy dub stabs and an amalgamation of vocal murmurs. ‘Velvet City’ then concludes the EP, encapsulating the core aesthetic of deep house with wandering jazzy keys, ethereal pads, organic drums and rumbling subs all silkily ebbing and flowing amongst one another.

Snad is back on Smallville.

Shyam Anand is a long-term friend of Smallville and an MPC wizard with a wide-open heart. We are super happy to finally present a 12“ that is fully his own.

After an amazing contribution to Smallville 49 (check out Exerpts!), Snad aka Spandrel aka Shyam Anand presents a full 3-tracker on Smallville, packed with his irrisistible grooves, the usual unexpected twists and an overall magical atmosphere. Growing up near Philadelphia, then moving to Chicago and later exploring the global underground scenes of Berlin and Mexico City, among others, Snad is a busy man. He runs his own imprint Spandrel, co-runs We R The Aliens and has an impressive back-catalogue of contributions for several favourites like Running Back, Courtesy of Balance, Kimochi, Long Vehicle, 20:20 Vision, Phonica and many more.

On this 12" the A side belongs solely to Bubblescope - 14 and a half minutes of mesmerizing Ensoniq DP/4 Vocoder driven modular spheres, an endlessly deep bubbling piece of art that builds an intense feeling that could last for hours.
The B side sees Snad staying deep – Lukewarm Lava explores the broken beat world before taking you on a ride. The beloved B2-spot goes to Tanni - an integral part of Julius' warmup-sets since forever and thus a special one to finally put on wax.

Space Dimension Controller returns to Aus Music with six tracks of superb cosmic adventure EP arrives digitally or as a six-track 12"
including exclusive vinyl-only cut 'Acid Funk Sequel' on July 26th
Space Dimension Controller is an intergalactic musical explorer. His
sci-fi sounds paint technicolour pictures in widescreen. Whether crafting definitive albums like Love Beyond The Intersect on R&S, club-ready EPs for Aus and Running Back or dropping collections of unreleased tracks on his own Tiraquon Recordings, his work sounds futuristic yet nostalgic for the past. It is fueled by funk and crafted on synths, hardware, tape machines and various other imperfect tools that lend it a loveable character.

His Final Quest EP is a "French-inspired" release, which is an influence that predates the Space Dimension Controller alias and goes back to Hamill's teenage years. It is also the last EP from his current studio before it is dismantled and moved to Amsterdam sometime this summer.

From start to finish, this new EP showcases Hamill's ability to craft emotionally evocative melodies and genuinely absorbing
soundtracks. Opener 'Jet Free' is awash with filtered synths that are sugary sweet and underpinned by funky guitar riffs and laissez-faire
grooves. The wonderful 'Cryfaze' has rueful pads spiralling around sleek drums that bounce along next to supple neon arps, while 'Tiraquon's Final Quest' is a bubbling and elastic rhythm run through with soft acid squelches and pixelated pads full of cosmic charm. '1 4 U' rides on heavier drums but is no less joyous thanks to the crystalline melodies and dreamy vocals that swell the heart. Vinyl
exclusive 'Acid Funk Sequel' is another playful moon safari with buoyant bass patterns and snappy drum funk under ever-evolving melodic refrains and 'Beyond2' closes down with forlorn, introspective melodies that ripple over heavy-hearted chords.

MotorCity Wine out of Detroit looks to the other side of the planet for its next release as Sydney, Australia-based artist Edseven steps up with his Burnin Up EP. It's that title track featuring Oliver Night that opens up with a smooth and seductive sound, leggy drums and warming chords.

'Soul Takes Flight' is another cuddly, deep and late-night lounge sound full of emotive vibes and another amazing vocal from Oliver Night. Things get even more chill on the flip with the mid-tempo sounds of 'If I Let You' featuring vocals from Cinta, all pressed up in a limited picture sleeve 12".

VICK LAVENDER returns with a super ltd white label featuring the magical "A SPACE OF MY OWN" (tribute to DEXTER WANSEL). A deeper jazzy jam paired with an african disco dub entitled "MR. SPORTY" along with the "DRUMS & LIFE mix". This three track EP is on limited coloured vinyl.

London-based DJ and producer Steven Julien returns to his Apron Records imprint with a double A-side 12" , bringing together the new gospel and R&B-influenced EP TIME and previously digital-only EP Wraap't.

Bridging sonic worlds together, from the soulful anthem TIME and the glossy rap hit ULTRA ft. James Massiah to the old-school house sound of UP and Julien's driving club remix of Wraap't ft. Fatima. Rounding off the EP with the instrumental BALLAD, a dreamy jazz-inspired excursion, further highlights the unique contrast of Steven Juliens' work.

Available in two vinyl colours, limited Red and a classic black vinyl printed with the TIME EP artwork on the cover and Wraap't EP artwork on the inner sleeves. Two EPs, one record.

Ulterior Motives launch their main label with a single from DJ Persuasion, featuring a Liftin’ Spirits remix from Ant Miles. The label, which is helmed by DJ and producer Noah Tucker, began life in 2021 with an anonymous edit of a much-loved underground hip hop gem. Two further 12”s in the white label series followed along similar lines, joining the dots between jungle, footwork and r’n’b in UM style. Since then, they have also launched their cassette series with a Metrist mix covering golden era tech step and d’n’b.

DJ Persuasion is principally known for A History Of Hardcore, a series of ten mixes covering ’88-’98 which appeared across a number of platforms between 2015 and 2020. Certain entries in the series appeared on cassette via The Trilogy Tapes, Blackest Ever Black (Id Mud) and Tape Echo. Persuasion also hosted the NTS Demon Poetry show (now the Drum Poetry show) for some years, and contributed In Focus sessions covering the work of Dillinja and LTJ Bukem, alongside Dev:Null.

Jameela EP covers four contrasting, but also concentric areas of the hardcore continuum, featuring a remix from Liftin’ Spirits aka Ant Miles of Origin Unknown. The title track rolls out at bleeding edge jungle hardcore tempo, taking in a mixture of familiar and unfamiliar references. Liftin’ Spirits contributes a standout remix which reframes Jameela as a drum’n’bass epic, opening with a panoramic intro and a quaking bass drop, then building to soaring strings. Robin Gets Revenge is an audial intervention into one of the last remaining unsolved mysteries in acid house, and a stomping 89’-’90 style jammer to boot. The B2 finds Jameela in a slower guise, offering something for after the club and the warm up.

2025 Repress

Terrence Parker presents Real Love EP. This classic release never came out officially! Only some limited white label copies were done thru Serious Grooves in 1994. As a bonus, Terrence also included here an new version of "Real Love". Don't sleep on this!

Ruff Stuff Music returns with its first release in four years this March, the project sees label head Ruff Stuff releasing material from himself and three other artists, all of which come from the same town, have been friends from many years and share the same love for a particular style of house.

With the ‘70024 Beats Roots Vol.1’, Ruff Stuff welcomes onto the various artist package his ex Ruff Stuff production partner, now producing under the name of Flaze, Bress Underground and Toysin who debuts this moniker but is also known for his Techno material under the guise Earwax.

Flaze’s ‘Resolve’ leads the release and lays down an amalgamation of hazy chords, bumpy bass stabs, wandering strings and stuttering vocal chops atop a swinging drum groove. Bress Underground’s ‘I Bet You’re Wond’rin’ follows next and retains a similarly deep aesthetic, fusing ethereal pads, gritty bass stabs and bright piano sequences with crunchy shuffled drums and cut up vocal lines.

Label boss Ruff Stuff opens the flip-side next with ‘Gut Feel’, bringing a more vintage tinge to things via organ hits, cinematic strings, circling fm synth lines and squelchy acid licks. Toysin’s ‘You Don’t Pass The Exam’ then rounds out the release on a disco house tip via looped and chopped funk-guitar licks, vocal chants and weighty subs, while a weight 4/4 drum groove further fuels the energetic, peak time feel.
