Brad Peterson delivers the 25th release from Glasgow's 7th Sign Recordings. The imprint is back with a bang as Scotland-based American producer Brad Peterson (also of Moods and Grooves) serves up deep and spiritual sounds with shades of Larry Heard interwoven with the unique, abstract, thoughtful, groovy sound that is all his own. A powerful remix by house music hero Neville Watson (Clone Jack for Daze, Creme Org, Rush Hour, Poker Flat, Permanent Vacation) completes this fine addition to the remarkable 7th Sign catalogue.

Few new techno artists of the past years gained as much momentum as Recondite. His atmospheric, driving, bleak tracks are techno to the core. But they are much more. They are not Techno about Techno, music reprocessing other music, but music about emotion and experiences. In dealing with themes like longing, nostalgia, romanticism and the general uncertainty of being human, the productions of the thoughtful Bavarian introduce a new range of issues and emotions. His music is widely available through many releases on renowned labels such as Ghostly, Hotflush or Dystopian, but it never reveals its mystery. It is charming, yet serious, it is beautiful but dark. It is the soundtrack for a perfect night out, and it reveals a profound insight into the abyss of the human experience.

With Iffy, his third album, Recondite tries to introduce a wider audience to his basic interest: the feelings and emotions that are hidden in the dark. Recondite does not present the arrangements and structures on a silver platter, but leaves room for interpretation. He is not interested in getting blurry or arbitrary tough. Managing to put his moods in a nutshell he does not need words or voices to allow people to relate to his unique personal experience.

The dogs indecisive expression on Iffy's front cover is the major key emotion, leading through the whole record. It is driven by conflicting moods and despite all commitment the outcome always remains open. But there is existential gravity in its core, which makes Iffy more accessible than Recondite's previous works and therefor delivers his idea in yet another - different robe. Innervisions being the platform for this piece of music promises to be the perfect fit as the ever emerging and highly respected Berlin record label's musical ideas and harmonic desires are nicely in tune with the bavarian producers output and personality.

Falling Up in its original Theo Parrish version and the Carl Craig version on the same disc. Nothing more to say. Except that the Carl Craig version finally gets its proper title (also newly remastered versions of both classics, by Stefan Betke). It was never a remix as all the parts are original, created by Carl Craig. As Scott Grooves said when he first heard Norm Talley playing it; "That aint a remix, that's a full-blown Carl Craig track".

It's time for the second release on Diamonds And Pearls in 2012. Two of the most singular and distinct forces in house and techno today team up for a special sonic treat. We are talking about the two alechmists XDB and Kassem Mosse. So get yourself ready for two extended journeys into techno, house and beyond. XDB's "Ekatem" is a driving, rough and ready house track with a beautifully bubbling square bassline and dirty synth work.
On the flip XDB is joined by Kassem Mosse for an exploration into the outer reaches of house music. "Omrish" is a gritty-yet-atmospheric jam, full of shimmering chords and floating synth melodies which are puntuated by double kicks and crisp cymbals. Mesmerizing stuff.

After releases from Terriers and New Jackson, Major Problems welcomes the Compassion Crew, who returns with another session of impeccably sourced cut-and-paste house music. CC's 'Masters Of The Gentlemanly Art' is proto-house/nu-beat-ish bruiser, while his 'Panic Chicago' version gets lost in the groove. Leisure Connection walk the night with a memorable 10-minute-plus psych/dub/house remix. Mastered and cut at Calyx, this is a vinyl-only release. Artwork from Simon Landrein. With 'the lost Remixes Pt. 2 Deep Vibes Recordings continues to contribute to the love for vinyl: Three fine remixes, two previously released digitally through major house labels, are now available on black gold for the first time. Sascha Dive's trippy Remix of Silicon Soul and the pumping muscle-house remix of Roland Clark & Urban Soul are already worth every penny.. The round up this times comes by our man Woody. The old school Berlin producer, DJ and curator of the city's hottest dance floor (you know it) has been on our wish list for a long time and his remix for Sascha Dive put us under a spell right away.

they've done their first Remix and tryied to combine the house-grooves with acid and techno influences.
Basically the whole EP is a solid package which includes some dub techno beats and groovy house rhythms.

MOS Recordings is proud to present its next album project, namely a debut solo full length from Chicago's Ike Release. Ike is an accomplished solo producer as well as being one half of acclaimed duo Innerspace Halflife with Hakim Murphy, and has a long and fruitful relationship with MOS Recordings.
For the last five years or so, Ike has been releasing a mind-expanding brand of analogue rich music that continues in his native Chicago's fine traditions without resting on the usual tired tropes. Labels like MOS, Machining Dreams and his own Episodes have released it to date and now this full length, Noir, comes as a fully formed artistic statement that lays out his sound in all its glory.

Says Ike of the LP... The aim with the album evolved since the time it was initially proposed. I was being pretty diligent about sending (the MOS boss) tracks I was working on, and really all I wanted to do was showcase who I am musically. 'Noir' is what came about in the end - the title plays into a theme that runs through much of my work, which Steven helped me identify.'

Across ten tracks, Ike unleashes his array of machines (Microkorgs, a machinedrum, MPCs, iPad Apps, cracked soft synths, borrowed Nord Leads, field recordings) and explores deep, textural house, ramshackle percussive grooves, the darkest corners of the galaxy and lots more besides. Opener 'Lost Cities' is an underwater rhythm with gloopy synths and stiff drum hits that eases you into the ride. From there, there's the raw, deep jack of 'Precipiate' with its soft acid line, the dishevelled house of 'Vapor' and the gluey synth layers and dreamy pads of 'Solace'.

'Faded' is a more subliminal and ambient interlude but then the second half of the album kicks again with the celestial soundscapes of the title track, which mange to sound both heavenly and yet aggressive at the same time.

Always managing to coax maximum feeling and atmosphere out of his tools, Noir is a true journey into the deep that will leave you feeling somewhere altogether different.

As Chinatown thaws and drips into spring, so arrives the debut vinyl release from the hardware scientist CLOUDFACE himself. The record appears as a breath of foreign air; a lucid recreation of memories emblazoned in the cosmos. "Devonian Garden", the definite lurcher of the bunch, kicks off the 12" as a 3, possibly 4D horizon opens up through the leaves of some far-off cerebral jungle. If the moon landing truly was a hoax then this cut assures us that we still have taken that "one giant leap for Man" on the lunar steppes. Next up the A2 emerges as "Otcho" - a mystified and isolated groove that hangs off the left side of a crushed snare - this cut is the equivalent of an SOS signal inside the pineal gland - our loneliness however not to our dismay. Flip the record and we have "2N", starting off side B on a gliding vibe - suspiciously jagged percussion floats over top a pitter-patter kick while octave synths rise upward like icebergs...and finally, to seal the deal we are invited to dip in the mindbath of "Summer", the glistening and slightly sour comedown of the 12" - it rises and drops at obtuse and near-ancient angles, much like a star map floating on a liquid surface, mixing, deep and fuchsia, gold and light...

Traxx Underground back to old time with the launch of Traxx Underground Limited, a new sub label for vinyl only releases. Its pleasure to have The Groove Victim start the series with 4 underground house cuts!

Arbiters of the finest sonic skullduggery, Foot & Mouth returns with a slice of Summer Madness, featuring four highly effective fresh cuts of summer sonic edits from four clandestine movers and shakers.
The A side kicks off the super edit of PYT 'Addicted To Love' a monster of an edit by an artist with his own unique Vision. A2 is guaranteed to eat into your very soul with 'Big Portions' of Mange Tout.
On the flip and Russ Yallop delivers a sublime edit Oskar Offermans' 'Fluffer' heavily in demand and causing chaos on the summer dance floors. Finally H&T work their weird magic on Howard and try to get to know you!

Menacing beats by New York's DJ Spider are presented here in a double vinyl package. There is plenty of material here for dance floor damage as well as mental!!!

The Skokie Intruder EP is the first ever release by the French / American producer Royer. His productions reflect astounding sampling skills and a penchant for Detroit style grit and groove. Skokie Intruder was mastered and cut by Helmut Erler at Dubplates and Mastering and will be a hand stamped red label in edition of 300. Featured on the release is a remix by Brian Leeds (Huerco S., Royal Crown of Sweden) under a new alias: Independence Ave. Orchestra.

Russian house queen Nina Kraviz executed a mass seduction with her deep and sexy, spaced out debut LP on Rekids earlier this year. Now the label drops the single 'Aus' featuring a trio of stirring remixes by legends DJ Qu, The Rhythm Odyssey and of course, Matthew Edwards aka Radio Slave.

One of the deeper tracks on the album, 'Aus Feat King Aus On The Mic' is full of bubbling Rhodes, jazzy tones and organ melody interlaced with ice cool funk, while the incredible vocal, reminiscent of Foremost Poets, unfolds on the top line, penetrating the smokey atmosphere. The three remixers on board each deliver a more dancefloor ready interpretation with Rhythm Odyssey bringing more hiss and bass along with trademark wiggly acid permutations. Label boss Matt Edwards injects a sharp kick and transforms 'Aus' into a chugging drum tech roller while DJ Qu supplies a moody, fluid mix with trippy FX and deeply constructed layers.

The name on everyone's lips in 2012, Nina Kraviz is a star that can more than back up the hype - her unique expression, intricate production style and crate-digging skills earning her major attention from clubbers and industry insiders alike. Having wowed with EPs on home label Rekids, Underground Quality, Naif and BPitch Control previously, the eponymously titled album (on Rekids) cemented Nina's status as a true original andsaw Nina gracing the cover of leading music magazines and receiving near flawless reviews. Recently delivering a special BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix featuring many unreleased tracks and rarities, Nina has the dance music world at her feet.

Part Four in the series sees Mosaic return to its signature sound of the late 90's : deep techno-tinged house.

First up is UK house legend Nail , who was in hiding in London and Suffolk for a while , but is now back in his bunker in Nottingham making music once again.

His offering, "Pharoah," was created on Boxing Day 2013 especially for Mosaic and contains all the hallmarks of classic Nail productions of the 90's whilst maintaining a foot firmly in the present. If you like your house deep and sample heavy this cut is definitely worth checking out...

On the flip we have two tracks from newcomer Annie Errez. Annie is a resident DJ at the Mint Club in Leeds and has been developing her production skills over the last few years with appearances on Holic Trax , Saints & Sonnets as well as a very fine release on Strobewax which she co-runs with fellow Mint Club resident Bobby O'Donnell.

If deep techno- house is your cup of tea then put the kettle on and listen to the sublime "Bell Curve" and the dubbed out bass monster that is 'Auguste." We are sure that you will agree that there is no doubt that she will be a producer to keep an eye on in the future ...

Its time for Local Talk to go local again with another Swedish producer, Eric Ericsson. With numerous releases out in labels like Planet E, Fragile and Freerange he's one of those producers with one foot in the techno scene and another in the more soulful house scene. Basically, he’s not a one trick pony!
For his release on Local Talk we would say he lands somewhere between classic Chi-Town house and thumping NYC house groove but without sounding too retro or washed out. Its simply real house music ! We begin with Love It, a real bumpy house track with analogue basslines and swinging fender grooves that will work both stateside and in the european house clubs.
The second track The Chi is as the title suggest a homage to Chicago with a slight old school Boo Williams fee. - dope!
But thats not all, to give the release a broader twist we got man of the moment Oskar Offerman (Berlin) to remix Love It for us.
Oskar goes more deep with his trademark sound and gives us a dark mix that will sound amazing in your favourite Berlin club of choice.

Having marked himself out as a producer to keep an eye on with his previous releases on Tusk Wax, Hot Waves & Glasgow Underground we're proud to welcome Lee Webster to the Local Talk family.
Lee keeps it pretty much straight forward on All Night Vibes EP and delivers a neat package of four to the flour house tracks, bouncy with strong vocal hooks and memorable melodies all the way.
Punch A Crocodile's wonky bassline, the airy chords in Get Lost, the vocal samples in Wax Your Body and lean rhythm in All Night Vibes are all fine indicators of where Lee's real talent lies and makes him a great fit for Local Talk.
Sometimes simplicity is the key to make your tracks memorable and this young cat knows how to work it like that.
