Anders Ilar and John H are no newcomers to the electronic music scene.
Born in 1973, Anders Ilar began his explorations of electronic music in the mid 80s. Growing up in the small town of Ludvika in Sweden, Ilar spent all of his spare time playing with synthesizers, drum machines, keyboards and sequencers, learning the ins and outs of analogue and digital sound and music creation. Inspired by the early industrial and EBM wave he formed several bands with friends, started playing live shows
at smaller local parties, and released several demo tapes in very limited quantities. In the 90's he gradually shifted his creative influences towards ambient techno and acid and also started to DJ. He started using computer software to produce his music around 1999 and his first vinyl EP was released in 2001 on the german label Plong!, soon to be followed by
many more releases on labels such as Shitkatapult, Audio.nl and Echocord.
Developing his own flavor of deep minimal dub techno and ambient he gained critical acclaim with his album Nightwidth (2006) for Narita Records in the USA. Followed by highly appraised album Sworn on the german label Level Records in 2008. Ilar has also made remixes for celebrated artists such as Apparat, Mikkel Metal and Ripperton and has
appeared on numerous compilations and DJ-mixes. He's performed live on stage through-out most European countries and Japan, as well as doing a small tour with Notch Festival in China in 2008.
Up to 2018 Anders Ilar has produced 13 albums and 25 vinyl EP's and performed in over 15 countries.
Born in 1984 and based in Gothenburg. John H has been DJing, as well as producing tracks, since the late 90s, with Anders as his mentor and teacher, giving John early musical influences spanning across a wide range of genres, from Swedish techno to IDM, Cologne acid craziness and
the sound of Chicago house tracks. The musical output of his DJ-sets usually varies between techno, house, acid, electro and everything in between, depending on the time and location. John has performed on several locations all around Sweden, but also done appreciated gigs in other European countries at clubs like Tresor and Culture Box, and his music has been featured in sets by DJs such as Sven Väth, Adam Beyer,
Joris Voorn, Dense & Pika, Cari Lekebusch, Alan Fitzpatrick, Karotte,
Gregor Tresher, The Hacker and many more.
Coming For Your Tongue EP is Anders and John's 4th collab release, after
acclaimed releases on Flight Recorder and New York Haunted, recorded
during a jam session at John's studio in Bergsjön outside of Gothenburg,
Sweden, using a small setup of analogue synths and drum machines such as
the Roland TR-606, TR-808, a Devil Fish modified TB-303, Minimoog Voyager
and the Arturia Microbrute. After recording Anders spiced things up by
cutting and puzzling loops as well as adding extra effects and drums.

With its 31st release, EYA Records welcomes German producer Dominik Marz for a full solo outing, and the result is a shimmering, synth-laced journey that feels both retro and radically forward-thinking. Beginning to Fly EP is a four-track package that seamlessly balances warmth and drive—making it as suitable for peak-time club energy as it is for the early morning hours when the dancefloor turns inward. dungeon acid review 25-09-03 by Joakim Cosmo A acid house style EP by swedish acid techno pioneer on swedens oldest underground label? Making a acid house EP in 2025 that makes a difference is a challenging task but this one just nails it. Here you see a softer and more musical side of Dungeon Acid in the shape of 5 dark yet hopeful Acid House tracks. Despite the classic form and ingredients it somehow avoids feeling retro but I guess this is what happens when you let a true grand master do it combined with a selector and label boss beyond the ordinary. It's like a paralell universe version of what Acid House could have become, and its a beautiful vision. A1-101-303 starts off with a dreamy, moody dubby and slightly romantic track that is just utterly beautiful in all its simplicity. The elegance and easy touch strikes me instantly. Nails the essence of the genre. One more like this and im buying it. The way A2-Unlock rewind builds up gives me goosebumps. So hypnotic and dark and experimental and the way it progresses to the ravey chord-break. The sounds and effects and details feel so alive and on the fly. In the record store this is where id already go "ok, im having this one" B1-Lonely Acid boy is yet another simple yet super atmospheric track. The contrasts between the rough robotic parts and the jazzy live solos ontop just gets to me. The roughness in the mix, that second beat with the hi-hats and extra bass, the fact that its so loud and sudden, is just great. And then we get to B2-Shnukki and all of a sudden, a romantic melodious electro track with a asian touch and acid bassline, that somehow goes well together with the other tracks. This one isnt my favourite or what I would buy the record for, but it would probably be the one I discover years later. Typical Borft Records to think that far ahead. The EP ends with B3-Chiliflex BB come on and this one starts with more late 80's ravey chords but the further you get into the track the more disharmonic, tweaky and punky it becomes. Things dont really fit together yet they do. To sum it up, these tracks are raw, funky, gutsy, streety, visionary, full of contrast and a bit challenging, just like acid house should be, but often isnt. I think Dungeon Acid and Borft Records nails it here. I'd buy doubles of this.

It’s not normal to take 31 years to release a follow up album. But then Network was never a normal sort of record label, and often opted for the quirky rather than the quick buck. The logo was launched in 1990 and that year, along with a slew of startlingly good singles, created and issued two bio-rhythm compilations, each of which showcased cutting edge USA techno rubbing shoulders alongside its’ sparse UK bleep counterpart.

At the time the words quality and dance music compilations were not phrases shared that much. bio-rhythm 1 and it’s almost instant follow up bio-rhythm 2 bucked the trend with groundbreaking exclusive tracks, iconic minimal artwork and surreal sleeve notes.

Each of the albums have been hailed by many as piece de resistance primers to electronica music.

As well as capturing the zitgeist of a blurry everything of that moment experimental time, they have endured to be acclaimed as all time iconic classics. So why was there no follow up? One reason was that things were moving so bewilderingly fast at the time for Network that the emphasis was always on the next thing, not regurgitating repetitive beat ideas.

Another was that the opportunity arose to direct the acumen gained from the bio-rhythm experience at the release of two (now equally acclaimed) compilations from Frank and Karen Mendez’s cult Nu-Groove label.

The current Network reconstruction meant an opportunity to re-indulge and finally release bio-rhythm 3. Matt Anniss’s splendid sleeve notes are reproduced below and tell you all you need to know about the carefully selected (and mostly exclusive to this collection) tracks on 2 x 12 vinyl for increased sonic joy. For the 10th release label owner Barbara Preisinger is gathering seven unreleased tracks on two seperate 12inches, by previous Slices Of Life artists as well by producers who have a relationship to the label through frindship, events and personal support. Each track presents the personal unique style of it´s producer, but all have a feeling for warm sounding organic house grooves in common, what Slices Of Life stands for since the beginnings in 2009.

6 weeks after SOL10.1 hit the stores with contributions by THE MOLE, BAAZ, DANA RUH and JOHN TEJADA, the 2nd part of the SLICES OF LIFE compilation celebrating release number 10 is following: The A side of SOL10.2 is dedicated to the legendary Berlin producers and Dj duo CAB DRIVERS: - A Complex Situation' catches us with its irresistable swinging groove and filigrane synth lines. OSCAR SCHUBAQ, DJ, Producer and co-owner of the label Tardis Records, starts the B-side with - K-Beat', a rough jackin house tune, which takes a surprising turn to a sunny sounding swing during the 2nd part. Aquaregia celebrates its tenth anniversary with '10', a five-track compilation bringing together artists who have each shaped the imprint's sound over the past decade.

The release sees Troma & PERS1, Blazej Malinowski, Teo Drean, Nicola Dal Sacco, and 747 return to the label with new work, each interpreting acid through their own lens. This is another vital instalment of Get Physical Music's classic reissue series, which is now scheduled for a vinyl release. It features a track first released in 1994 and was also part of DJ Pierre's Wild Pitch: The Story album back in 2017. It comes with an Emmanuel Satie edit of the Ricardo Villalobos Dub and a stellar remix from South Africa's Jazzuelle, first released in 2017.

DJ Pierre's name is forever synonymous with house music, particularly the acid sound he pioneered in the' 80s. Staying true to the underground since then, he's consistently released vital tracks, innovated with his Wild Pitch style and now his Afro Acid label. Pierre continues to push boundaries with each new outing while this reissue proves that his earliest works are still some of house music's best ever.

'What is House Muzik' is an almost 10-minute masterpiece that's perfectly designed for gritty warehouse spaces and comes complete with an anthemic vocal monologue. It's dark and distorted with monstrous kicks and oversized hi-hats, a frazzled lead synth line and a marching groove that is lit up with strobe-lit details to get hands in the air. The original also comes alongside an acapella version.

Next up, we have an edit from melodic master Emmanuel Satie, who takes Fellow Ricardo Villalobos's epic 36-minute 'What Is Dub' version and splices it into a floor-friendly and perfectly paced 7-and-a-half-minute edit. Originally dropping in 2015, it now sees its way onto vinyl for the first time. Finally, South Africa electronic production don Jazzuelle drops a remix that lives up to its name with a dive into the deeper realms of acid.

Master Tee returns to his own mighty Freeze imprint! Presenting four highly affective and characteristic house cuts that were not available on physical format before.

The record received few plaudits on release but has since become a sought-after underground rarity, with scarce original copies trading hands for hefty prices. Whether you draw for the euphoric Warp Factor 9 Mix, the stripped back Ego Dub or the sun-kissed grooves of Do Dat Scat and Shu Bop, the record epitomizes the tasteful and quirky sound of UK house music from the 90s.

Moonworks have once again worked closely with the original artists to restore and remaster these tracks to modern standards, as well as revamping the original artwork in their own style.

Posh End Music boss Fear-E returns with his second album ‘Descent into Ascension (Snapshots of a Mental State)’ this February. For Martin Gretschmann, the ever-evolving Berlin artist known as both Acid Pauli and Console, music has always been a deeply personal journey.
His new imprint, All Is Acid, is the destination, a creative home for his uncompromising and experimental sound. Their collaboration was sparked by pure serendipity: a fan video of Acid Pauli playing her music in Milan reached Adiel, who responded with a short film for Vogue. In it, she revealed that "Den Mahlstrom rauf" was a formative influence and one of the very first records she ever bought.
Inviting her to remix the track that helped shape her sound was a full-circle moment, artistically and emotionally. Her bold, reverent reinterpretation honors the original's spirit while imprinting it with her own unique signature. It’s the new millennia. We find ourselves outside the Packard Plant in Detroit. Inside dancers coalesce on the work floor of another decaying American metropolis. Part two of Terrestrial Funk’s six part series with Dan Piu brings us to the year 2000. Four more tracks from the three decade compendium with nods to contemporaries like the late great James Stinson. Astral ancestors on celestial highways.

Italian legend Walter Del Vecchio aka Quiroga pays tribute to the acid house era on Hell Yeah with a new package that comes with two originals, an ambient mix and a remix from cult hero DMX Krew.

Quiroga released his last sublime album Passages on this label and it came as the latest entry into a discography filled with beauty and detail. He is a talented musician from Naples who has his own left-of-centre take on the Mediterranean sounds of the city, as he shows once again here with a house-leaning outing.

Quiroga has teamed up with cult musician Dario Bassolino and called upon Whodamanny's mixing skills for these new tracks. First is 'Once Again', a punchy and chunky house cut with skewed bass spraying about the mix. Its rough analogue edges are lit up by searing acid lines that never quit and will turn any party into a cauldron of intensity. The Ambient Version is a full-flavour downtempo workout that keeps the wild acid lines, adds in some FX, old-school piano chords and a yelping female vocal next to a blissful breakdown. 'Once Again' (DMX Krew Remix) is then a bumping acid-electro monster with fat drums and the manic 303 offset by serene chord work to make for a perfectly emotional dance floor delight.

'Freak The Funk' is a second original cut, as rides of crisp snares and snapping drum breaks blend with a warm bassline and smeared cosmic chords up top. It's a classy peak-time house cut with magical pixelated synth melodies.

Alongside superb artwork from PlanetLuke, this is another essential package from Hell Yeah.

His album '2020Radio', published at the beginning of 2022, marked a turning point in the long and intense career of Pamplona DJ and producer Javier Suescun. The sensational reception he received from the specialized press and the public encouraged him to continue working with him and this '2020Radio Remixes' (Müsex Industries) is his continuation. To this end, Suescun put some of the best songs at the service of a "second reading" by some national and international artists from his environment and iconography. Finally, Matthew Herbert, FatCat, Rafa Santos and Orlando Voorn were chosen, substantiating a cast as underground and exquisite as it is privileged, such as Suescun.

Fourth release of the label is a boundless sonic trip. "Light and illusion" is a psychedelic journey where Enri blends hypnotic rhythms and surreal soundscapes with acid liquid textures. An intense experience that sparks the imagination and drags you to other dimensions.

London's Release/Sustain imprint returns this April with a four-track package featuring material from Eduardo De La Calle, XDB, Joey Anderson Moody Waters feat. Carolina Damas.
The Release/Sustain imprint has gone from strength to strength over the years, welcoming the likes of Alton Miller, DJ Aakmael, Benjamin Brunn, Losoul, Norm Talley and many more respected names in underground house and techno over its past twenty nine releases.
Here we see this continue with some more welcome additions, first up is Eduardo De La Calle with 'The Protosoul' and as always the Spanish artist offers up a perfectly crafter slice of hazy, groove-driven Techno, led by bleepy arps, winding stabs and robust analogue rhythms. XDB then offers up heady, subtly blooming leads, pulsing subs and shuffled drums with 'Another Night' next.
Opening the flip is New York's Joey Anderson with 'Drum Play' which as the name suggest sees the percussive aspects dynamically evolve throughout amongst choppy bass hits, stutter arpeggio blips and warm string melodies. Moody Waters then teams up with Carolina Damas, vocalist on anthemic house cut 'Sueno Latino' for 'Acid Lovin'', edging into deeper territory with ethereal pads, crunchy drums and squelching 303 licks while Damas' soft, spoken-word Latin vocals wander within.

The second offering from Mud Trax, a division of MixCult Records is a compilation to remember.

With Dub Tech laid out in all its many forms and moods by a dynamic assortment of rhythms, it is nothing less than exquisitely fresh pop manipulative.The album features contributions from Kirill Matveev, Ataneus, Genning and Etzu Mahkayah. With an electrifying mix of dub's sprawling scope and acid's driving rhythm, even a record that pushes sound the way this one does can come off totally funky.

Kirill Matveev & Wiklauri's Ioli (Kirill's Version) makes for a promising opening, melding into deep dub its ethos of acid, a psychedelic blend that touches the nerves of those who love to dance. Ataneus takes it further on A2 with Napolitaner, a track that is like nothing else: dense, dub-coloured layers of sound, which create a steadily seductive momentum able to steal listeners away into temporal plunge.

On the other side, B1's Red Lights by Genning is at once a punchy piece and a dancefloor phalanx of sound. A work meticulously sculpted by the speakers, yet redolent with natural energy-Geistgemäss.
The journey is brought to a close by Etzu Mahkayah's Cs-137 on B2, hypnotic grooves offering equal parts reflectivity and pumping energy.

Taken together these tracks provide an experience that is euphoric yet absorbing, each not only embodying Dub Tech but also pushing it in new directions.

Slush Records are back for their second outing, remastering and rereleasing Sedona’s highly sought-after 1995 track, ‘Pulsation’. A portal to the underground of the ‘90s, Sedona’s original mixes and the remix from Robert Vaughan, fuse progressive house, trance and breakbeat, each oscillating to their own unique frequency. Not stopping there, Slush Records enlist the expertise of Seoul-born, Amsterdam-based Naone for a mesmerising new remix that harnesses all of that early ‘90s energy, with a fresh dynamism.

The story of Sedona begins with Dale Charles and Benny Blanco. As a touring DJ and buyer at Boston Beat Records in the mid ‘90s, Dale Charles was in diggers paradise. Freestyle was big business at the time and as a progressive house and breaks DJ, Dale couldn’t help but notice how good the drum programming was on some of the tracks. He spent endless hours trawling through the shops near 10,000 freestyle records, hoping to find that elusive secret weapon.

One day Dale found the break he was searching for and took it to Benny’s studio. Benny was an aspiring DJ and, more crucially, a producer with a conveniently concreted basement apartment he was slowly filling with synths, samplers and drum machines. Sampling and chopping up this gem of a break, utilising two TB-303’s that Benny recorded live for the acid lines and creating that signature throbbing arp on a Roland JD-800, the basis of ‘Pulsation’ was born.

The duo created a series of different mixes to tweak the feeling of the track. The ‘Ascending Mix’ and ‘Sinister Mix’ bookend this reissue. The former, a club-focussed cut with subtle to squelching 303 lines, rumbling sub bass frequencies and pulsating arps that anchor the track, as the sacred drum break fires your brain into trance-infused euphoria. The latter, an ominous slice of teleportational ambient electronica, sucking you into a wormhole of galactic synthesis and dream-state harps.

The first of the remixes sees Slush draft in the progressive wizardry of Naone to provide a fresh new take on the track. Leaning into the otherworldly ‘90s atmosphere of the original, Naone radiates the pulsating theme through swelling synth stabs and a driving acid bassline. Switching up the feel with an electro-tinged drum beat, she distorts the acid dials till the track explodes into a dystopian realm of twisted techno.

The second is Robert Vaughan’s ‘Test Tube’ mix from the original 12 Inch. A no-nonsense prog headspinner, that garnered plays from the likes of Sasha and Digweed. An acclaimed DJ and producer across the ‘90s, with releases on the likes of Space Records and Metropolis, Vaughan injected the track with added breakbeat energy and swirling, tripped-out breakdowns to masterful effect.

A timeless dancefloor classic, expertly remastered and reissued with a remix that both honours and updates the original.

Demi Riquisimo’s Semi Delicious celebrates its 20th release with a peak-time 4-track EP from Leeds-based production talent, Kepler— another stand out addition to the label’s impressive catalogue, dropping on 29th November.

Opening the Ep is ‘Step Up,’ a sub-bass-driven journey that layers relentless percussive grooves, squelchy acid lines, and proggy chord hooks, encapsulating the quintessential Semi Delicious vibe.

Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’ gets a respectful touch-up 25 years on courtesy of the Adana Twins.

The German duo come strong with a pair of remixes, fit for two very different dancefloor scenarios. The first a smart, stripped back breakbeat version that switches from a sparse percussive soundscape to the famous acid warbles, before introducing undulating retro trance synths to the composition for a headmelting finish. The iconic house music classic 'Get House' by Calisto from 1994, is now being revitalized by the legendary house music pioneer Josh Wink. Josh Wink, renowned for his pioneering contributions to the Acid House movement, infuses his signature style into 'Get House,' breathing new life into the timeless anthem. The remix pays homage to the roots of electronic music while propelling it into the future, creating an immersive sonic experience that captivates listeners and ignites dance floors with its infectious energy. But the journey doesn't end there. Alongside Wink's groundbreaking remix, the release includes the raw and percussive original version of 'Get House,' straight from the depths of 1994. RAWAX proudly presents Acid Jesus aka Roman Flügel & Jörn Elling Wuttke with her groundbreaking debut album called "Acid Jesus" from 1993

Following the title of the classic Ecstasy Club record - be it a direct influence or merely a coincidence - Acid Jesus was the first of many collaborations between Roman Flügel and Jörn Elling Wuttke.

Situated in Germany’s then blistering techno scene and especially a mirror of Frankfurt at the time, the early recordings are also a feedback loop to what was happening in the UK and the USA before and at that very time. With many definitions and interpretations of techno already in place, and while its triumphal procession slowly geared itself into exhaustion, Flügel and Wuttke succeeded with their own and unique take on it, that owned as much to Underground Resistance and the Belleville Three as it did to Sven Väth and Andrew Weatherall. Depicting the booster detonation of what was to become the holy label trinity of Playhouse, Klang and Ongaku, this is a collection of tracks and experiments in sound that won’t sound dated, yet classic, mesmerizing and eternal. Jesus loves the acid and vice versa.

Dan Piu wrote this album during the "dark, dystopian times" of the last year. The record's themes take in nature, human life, sci-fi, cyborgs and plenty in between with opener 'Tru Confession' being a robust house track stacked with throwback breaks, futuristic synths and old school vocals. There is a real warmth and soul to the machine sounds of 'Un-X-Plored Exodus' while a certain sense of 90s New York house colours 'Upgrade System M59'. 'System Of Ethics' shows off a fine mastery of synth craft that brims with emotion and 'Asteroid Blues' is like a lost Kerri Chandler cut. Essential.
