House Vinyl Neuheiten & Releases - News

new on Young Marco's Safe Trip. June 2017, Amsterdam, NL: It is with the utmost urgency that we report the conclusions of our experiments with controlled doses of 4-ho-met, codenamed ST004.As instructed, we met up with agent 23, who introduced us to the test subject- code name ben penn - who was ushered into the bunker for immediate testing. In order to observe his reactions, penn was injected with a modified dosage of 4-ho-met and locked inside with only and handful of electronic machines for company. The subject immediately began acting strangely. It quickly became clear that 4-ho-met was increasing his capacity to produce music.Afterwards, penn was able to play us two audio interpretations of his experience. He was visibly shaken. The first penn called: spare hobby'. He described the resultant musical translation as higher level inter-dimensional funk'. His utterances while under the influence of 4-ho-met were captured partly using a device the subject described as a vocoder'. His capability to form complex melodic structures was striking. The second interpretation was titled carrera' and composed during a period of vivid hallucination. The subject sweated profusely throughout and became obsessed with driving electronic drums. He told of seeing purple-coloured ghosts, which he attempted to portray musically via wild synthesizer flourishes and what he said was called a bass line'.It is our belief that immediate action must now be taken in order to control the spread of 4-ho-met amongst the wider civilian population.

2LP includes special insert and digital download code.Though they're both originally from Kansas, Chrissy & Hawley met in Chicago, and began working together on songs that unite their very different individual styles: emotional dance music with catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics in the tradition of Yazoo, Pet Shop Boys, Arthur Russell, Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Larry Levan, and Patrick Cowley.Their debut album comes hot on the heels of an EP on Smartbar's own Northside '82 imprint, which has won over tastemakers like The Black Madonna, Jackie House & Jason Kendig (Honey Soundsystem), Prince Rama, and Avalon Emerson. Some of the most earnest and charming pop music I've heard in years" - Avalon Emerson.Ive been obsessing over 'Photobooth" - Jason Kendig.Nite Owl co-founder Chrissy is a genre-bending DJ / producer, known for releases on labels like Classic, Freerange, Razor-N-Tape, Planet Mu, and Hypercolour, his influential "My Year Of Mixtapes" blog, and his DJ residency at the legendary Chicago nightclub Smartbar.Hawley Shoffner is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter with a distinctive, immediately recognizable voice in the tradition of Karen O, Kathleen Hanna, or Siouxsie Sioux.

Frank Booker is back down in the basement for the 3rd release on his hot new vinyl only imprint. The main man himself delivers the A side cut, which is a classic Booker style disco jam.
By now standard Booker ingredients are served - super tight drums, funky bass, big strings, joyous horns, a wild piano riff - and the whole affair climaxes with a joyous vocal hook. Irresistible stuff! On the flip side, Frank's compadre Dicky Trisco drops another serious disco weapon that is guaranteed to kick-start any party with its chunky, funk-inspired sound.

The Barefoot vibe is strong!!!

1x each customer!

Two hot tracks full of sampling /editing action by Jeff Solo and Chaiba. ltd edition of 150 copies.

As the climate cools down in Australia, temperatures are rising in Europe and one of Italy's finest selectors has taken charge of People Must Jam's eighth record. Deja Vu is a EP that has been a long time in the making. The result, we hope you will agree has been worth the wait. The title track kicks the EP off with a killer funk groove that Riccio works into something we think Mark E would be happy with. tyson Jam is an original cut that channels some of his inner Moodymann vibes - heads down, lights down, fader up...For the B side we asked the incredible Payfone (who has been racking up a solid string of releases on Golf Channel) to remix Dyson Jam and he has created a perfect contrasting remix to the rest of the tracks of the EP.
A deep journey that takes the original into sub-dawn territory. 4am vibes! The final cut of the EP Mystical Stretcher, is a late night jazzy Funk number. Again a little Mahogani inspired...
Like most of our records this is cut on 180gm heavy duty 12" vinyl and is limited to 300 copies. We hope you like it.

As tanzverbort laws in some parts of the world still deprive people's basic need to dance,

Welcome to the ever so eighth sun-drenched installment of all that is great and summery in the Nu Disco Universe. Back at the helm after a few summers off is Slovenian superhero and all-around Nang buddy Sare Havlicek at the controls. Sare has deftly compiled and mixed a cadre of fine delights for those summer grooving nights (and days).

Things open up with an exclusive from UK based produced Blue Azure, "Wide Awake" is a prefect of the sound we are trying to encompass. Bags of sun, groove with a touch of swing. Next it is off to San Francisco for a combo of talents from The Beat Broker and Sorcerer, shimmering guitar and sparkly synths all in one package. Goldboy turn in a fine remix of the punchy and synth-stabby "La Vache De Dense" from Les Chevaliers Solex. Things toughen up for a tad with Ron Basejam (from Crazy P) giving us a bass guitar driven dance floor work out of Raykos "No Stopping".

The man himself, Sare, is next with his remix of Glasgow based The Korvids getting the summer vocal grooves firing. Also featured is a taster from his upcoming album "No Chance To Dance". Bristol based Situation are next with disco cutmeister Greg Wilson contributing to a fine stomping remix. Talking of Situation their fine remix of underground afro disco classic "Na Real Sekele Fo Ya" by Pasteur Lappe really gets the floor filling. Flanger X keeps the tempo electric with his fine "Back In Business" guitar chopped funker.

Time for some legends next, Pete Herbert joins up with Martin Denev and US House Music vocal legend Robert Owens for a big beater "Pass Me By", Australian cut-up-king Dr Packer doing the business on a remix. "Believe In Love" is a left field quirker from album kings Proper Heat. Things get plucky and bouncy next with "Arp" from the Russian contingent of Kim and Buran. Back to the US West Coast next with Grooving in Guatamala from Aimes.

To round things off it's a slice of slick psych disco from Italtian Billy Bogus and his Caribbean House project. Before a fine vocal stomp from Sheffield based Hiem with their bass and sax driven "Highlife".

Until we meet next summer, a fond farewell.

Reissue of the original 1983 release with audio restored by Manlio Cangelli himself.
Repress of one of the most rare Italo Disco releases under license of Manlio Cangelli - MC Harmony Publishing company with Audio restored by Manlio himself part of the only official retrospective on the legendary musician and producer.

Wish Key was created by Manlio Cangelli, musician and composer, founder and producer of Scotch also very active at that time. The first and best known song is Wish Key Orient Express. The song was composed by Manlio Cangelli with the text of Lorella Ghilardi (Blue Russell) and was designed to be the new song of Blue Russell.

On the advice and insistence of Severo Lombardoni then patron of Discomagic Records, who would have preferred a version with a male voice, the interpretation of the song was given to DJ Massimo Berti, while the female choirs were made in the study by Blue Russell. The union Cangelli-Ghilardi at that time had also created Penguin invasion of Scotch, Over and over Jerry Moon, New Dream Clay Pedrini and many other songs.

Orient Express was recorded at study Regson Milan in October 1983. The subsequent promotion of the song demanded finding a female figure because Blue Russell was already committed to the promotion of another of his solo album (I wanna fly away, written always from Cangelli and Ghilardi) was responsible for this presence Silvia Merelli, wife of Massimo Berti. The denomination Wish Key was filed by Manlio Cangelli and Lorella Ghilardi at the patent office of Bergamo shortly after the release of Orient Express ten-year.

In 1984 Massimo Berti created and published with the name Wish Key (with permission of Manlio Cangelli, trademark holder) the song Easy way, with the participation of Silvia Merelli as backing vocalist. The following years saw the publication of other works by Berti as Last summer and others, with good sales success and television appearances.

'Nyako' is our 7th vinyl release here at OtC and it's a big one. South African producer 'Behr' created 'Nyako' together with Makadem during a Santuri Safari session at Sondeka Festival in Kenya.

The E.P is 4 cuts that build in brilliance from the original which has extremely broad appeal. Indian producer 'Daisho' delivers a straight ahead 4 x 4 house groover, south-London production duo Modified Man swing their analogue machines into action for a heady synth adventure, which is just a bit broken. Berlin-based duo of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) are the ideal pairing to merge technology and tradition together as AFRICAINE808 bring up the rear with a balearic sensation to round off the EP.
Makadem is a talented musician and vibrant performing artist from Kenya. He's a figurehead of the Benga scene in Nairobi. His stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, had him likened to the legendary Fela Kuti. Makadem innovates by bringing traditional African instrumentation, story telling and contemporary production methods together.

All Day I Dream invites a few new names to the labels summer sampler season.
Alongside a few familiar ones too like Lee Burridge and Lost Desert with their much anticipated 'Absent Without Thoughts'.
Gab Rhome and Superlounge keeping it groovy.
New music from new artists include Budakid, PHCK and Zone+, each one a unique flavor in dreamland.

Right after we finished putting together our long sold out DISTANT WAVES compilation back in 2014 we started working on volume II. What we couldn't expect is that it would take us three whole years (and a lot of research work) to complete it, but you know what Well worth the wait and the efforts!
This time we have assembled a collection of songs that share some common factors: they all were made in the 80s, they all feature synths and they all are extremely sought after, rare as hell or just previously unreleased. And previously released or not, they are all considered 'instant classics' by DWR. There are obvious style variations as each band here is unique but DISTANT WAVES II is quite more homogeneous than its predecessor, hence we were able to tag it as 'AN 80s SYNTH WAVE COMPILATION'.We have the upbeat, danceable minimalism of STANDING OVATION, BORIS DZANECK, STÖRUNG, DOPPLER EFFECT and FACTORÍA RIBBENTROP. The cold, moody melancholy of BROKEN TABLES and LA VALSE. Virtually unknown acts like THE SIXTH SENSE, SEEING RED and ALMOST ANYONE, heavily underrated new wave giants like GREY PARADE and PUPPETS OF MANKIND. An unreleased synth pop masterpiece from ALMOST ALONE here, an unheard 7' rendition of a worlwide dancefloor smasher by NIGHTMOVES there. A total of 14 amazing tracks, all 'instant classics' as mentioned, that wouldn't fit in just an LP so we had to create THE ADDENDUM II also, an additional 7' to accommodate two of the songs. In every DWR release you will find darkness and light, energy and melancholy. DISTANT WAVES II is obviously no exception. As we always say, 'there's something for every soul here, for every moment'. This is a very personal project, a very personal selection of songs and bands that we love at Dead Wax Records. What we listen to, what we want to share with you. Again, we hope that you like the experience. We bring you DISTANT WAVES II in the form of a limited, hand numbered LP+7' bundle (320 copies) including a download code, housed in a matt sleeve with black & gold pantone finish and a printed inner sleeve. THE ADDENDUM II 7' comes with hand-stamped labels in its own folded insert-sleeve.

A new My Rules release from the always on-point Justin Van Der Volgen featuring two previously unreleased remixes that showcase his varied and unique style.
The A-side sees him take both the original and Spencer Parker remixes found on the the 2016 Shit Robot single Lose Control and through editing, blending and layering of FX concocts one serious bomb of a mega mix .
Think classic DJ bootleg remixes on legendary labels like Razormaid, Disconet and Hot Tracks.
The B-side is an altogether different affair where Justin dispenses with all of the original music and only keeps the vocal from Felix Dickinson's 2014 acid jam 'Burning Flame'.
What comes out the other end sounds like Lee Perry and Murk made a tune once they got back from a sleazy NY after hours.
Early plays and support from Gerd Janson, John Talabot, Tim Sweeney.

Celebrated & mysterious Portuguese sonic weapons outlet OUTERZONA13 return with three more deadly jams...
Continuing the theme of pursuing a varied menu of delights
No.7 is a another V/A selection. A re-touched staple kicks things off, swiftly followed by some delightfully decadent late 80's buried Chicago treasure While the B Side carries an irresistible slab of Minneapolis Funk Another Outerzona hit !

Not only is mike "father of the year", but he also has records. Deep crates, as they say. Mike Feel Love will keep the chin scratchers at bay for a while, seeing as the original track has zero internet presence. It will also keep the dancers happy. A scrappy little edit keeping the sloppy instrumentation in tact , because it's the best part of the song. Drums fall out of time , or drop out altogether. The synth arps fall out of synch which makes you wonder if that's an arpregiator, or some maniac playing live. The other side is a very old edit mike dusted off and is guaranteed to make the chin scratchers take a bathroom break- seeing as it is a top 40 hit from the 70s. Which doesn't mean it's not a burner.

Todh Teri announces the launch of its debut release, with a limited vinyl only edition.
Todh Teri announces the launch of its debut release, with a limited vinyl only edition. Todh Teri is the revival of the golden era in Indian cinema. It's the resurgence of Indian disco, funk & cabaret from the 70's , 80's & 90's. Deep in India Vol.1 goes back to its homegrown roots and gives us three classic gems. Each edit retaining its original flavor & a little something more to take to the dance floor.Todh Teri polishes off each track with a signature groove if its own. Ten seconds into an edit and you are deep in India! In the past, Todh Teri has brought this style of music to Berlin's clubs like Rummelsbucht & Wilde Renate. The act is scheduled to showcase in July at Sispyhos, Berlin & set for a very special LIVE debut at Wilde Renate, this August. In an Interview with Todh Teri, Red Bull said - - Indian artists have been loath to touch anything Bollywood and understandably so... Step in Todh Teri who wants to connect the lost world of Indian disco with western club sounds.' Teri understands that most Indian artists are (or were) not sure (about edits), because without proper execution, they can be easily clubbed as (mainstream) Bollywood remixes.'

Coming out of deepest India (or possibly, Melbourne) is a diverse 4 track EP of Bollywood inspired tracksHysteric takes 5 minutes from of sniffing out Italo b-sides to team up with noisy enfants terrible Venderstrooik for'Bablas aan den Rijn', a late night trip to the Lidl, with a detour via Mumbai. With added bass synths and 808 rhythms, Baerlz emphasizes the sensual side of an already hot vocal, making 'Nahid' sound like a deep and melodic downtempo track. From Mumbai to Melbourne, River Ganga turns up the spice with 'Goron'. You'll be hailing the next rickshaw to the discotheque.Originally discovered in the climactic final scene from a 1982 Bollywood film, 'Vidhaata' is a strangely alluring edit for the clubs that retains much of the dramatic feel from the closing scene itself.

People Must Jam's ninth record is from one of our favourite DJs and producers. A guy who has a ridiculously large back catalogue and in our opinion it is a crime that some of his records haven't received bigger recognition.A true master of House and Hip Hop music, Kid Sublime has been putting out amazing records since 2001. His own label Dopeness Galore literally does exactly what it says on the tin. Even before we launched People Must Jam's label we wanted Kid Sublime to be a part of it. Now finally we are stoked to present this EP...
Four serious cuts for four different vibed floors - look out! First up Kid's homage to Techno legend Ben Sims with 'Bang Like Sims' a driving deep Techno groove. Strong percussion, deep stabs and that unrelenting beat are going to ensure this one gets some love on the harder edged, heavier dance floors. 'We The People' heads a little down the tribal route with some afro inspired percussion, haunting samples and that kalimba! Dropping a really infectious riff before beautiful piano melodies drift in and out of the mix. Wonderful stuff. The title track 'I like 'em dirty'; we feel, is a lesson in proper Deep House.
Classic sounding house beats, little guitar licks, deep stabs and the vocal sample combine for this perfect house cut. Massive.
The EP is rounded out with another cut in tribute to the legend that was Kenny Hawkes. Another master of his craft - Kenny sadly now passed on but his spirit is well and truly alive in this fitting tribute. 'One 4 Kenny' features strong percussion, low bass, deep stabs and slamming beats = cracking stuff.
As always limited 180gm pressed vinyl. We hope you like it.

Out only for the physical market in 12 Inch vinyl format a new unreleased track by Luca Trevisi aka LTJ Xperience for the first time with the col-laboration of the American singer Anduze: Bad Side.
The track is in the classic Nu Disco style that caracterize the productions of Luca Trevisi's last years with an original Anduze's soul singing that recalls in the atmosphere and feelings the soul classic voices of the 70s as Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
You will found on the single vinyl, on the other side, two of the most popular songs from Luca Trevisi's latest album titled Beggar Groove: Fooling You and Put Me Down, never released on vinyl before.

NYC Disco legend Danny Krivit returns to the editing block on behalf of seminal Miami Disco powerhouse TK Disco. With 45 years in the DJ game under his belt and having played endless gigs all over the world during that time it's safe to say Mr.K knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to the re-edit thing! With unprecedented access to TK's vaults Danny has been turning in some stellar reworkings as of late and the cuts included on this latest instalment keep the quality sky high!
Peter Brown, a Chicago born singer, keyboard player and producer who had numerous hit singles and LP's (he also wrote Madonna's "Material Girl"!) was a popular Disco artist who harnessed his own original style merging his sweet singing style with synths and modern studio techniques. "For Your Love" listed from his 1977 debut LP "A Fantasy Love Affair" on TK's Drive imprint takes up side-A on this 12" and is treated to the DK edit magic. Danny gives us a subtle, respectful rework of this quirky LP cut, a synth driven midtempo number. Perfect for the early set or the late, late night encounters, sublime!
On side-B we have a slightly more uptempo jam in the shape of legendary jazz organist Jimmy McGriff's "Tailgunner" - A groove that just won't stop! Here Danny gives us the break after some slight teasing, accompanied by McGriff's funky organ vamps the whole track is rearranged and slightly tougher than the original version. This edit is definitely for the dancers, it's got all the drums upfront and displays some serious hard funk! Again, on this volume both edits are of supreme high quality, not surprising in any way when we consider that one of the originators of the art-form is behind them!
100% legit re-edits, remastered and released in conjunction with Henry Stone Music / TK Disco - Miami FL.

Original Bugz In The Attic member Daz-I-Kue delivers the debut album under his Disco, Boogie and Soul moniker BB Boogie. Having played his part in defning West London's Broken Beat scene, producing and engineering many seminal tracks in the genre, London born Daz relocated to Atlanta, absorbing the local music scene and working with some of the many talents available to him. The infuence of the two cities are rejected in this double vinyl release, fusing London's sound system aesthetic with Atlanta's rich heritage in soul, funk and disco.
'Standing On The Wall' features an incredible array of vocalists and musicians including Vanessa Freeman, Monica Blaire, Joy Jones, Grant Green Jr. and the legendary Leroy Burgess, channeling the spirit of the late 70's and early 80's sounds of Unlimited Touch, Chic, Rod Temperton, Roy Ayers and Cameo for a new generation

Deeply spiritual musician, producer and founding father of 'Ancestral Soul', African powerhouse Boddhi Satva returns with a very special 4 track EP. Having previously released on Louie Vega's 'Vega' label and Osunlade's Yoruba Records as well as running his own 'Offering Recordings', we are delighted to welcome him back to BBE.
Full of African and Latin influenced rhythms and powerful vocal performances, 'Awakened Spirit' perfectly reflects Satva's idiosyncratic, mystical approach to music. Translating as 'The White Bird', opening track 'Ngnari Konon' is "an ode to peace in Africa and the rest of the world" says Satva. It features Grammy Award winner & UN ambassador Oumou Sangare, one of Africa's greatest female voices.
Featuring the late vocalist Mangala Camara, hypnotic second track 'Nankoumandjan' is named after an ancient warrior from the Mandingue Empire.
Potent third track 'Benefit' features legendary UK soul vocalist Omar, who simply soars over Satva's blend of African and Caribbean musical flavours.
Final track 'Fighting Spirit' closes out the EP with Brazilian percussion backing up a dense and potent House groove, dedicated to Boddhi's father who sadly lost his battle with cancer in early 2014.
"My music is always influenced by my experiences and though some may be painful, I try to use my creativity to translate those emotions into something positive" - Boddhi Satva 2016
If you like your dance music with side order of emotion and spirituality, you'll probably already be well aware of Boddhi Satva. If not, let the music take you: let your spirit awaken.
