Peggy Gou returns with 'Nabi' - her first single in over two years and the follow up to 2019's global crossover, 'Starry Night'.

'Nabi' is an incredible piece of slow-burning, 98bpm electronic pop, inspired by 80s synth classics, the piano pieces of renowned composer Erik Satie and the 80s and 90s Korean songs Gou’s mother used to play at home during her childhood. Showcasing a less familiar side of Gou’s diverse sound and influences, it retains the hallmarks of her unique take on electronic music; at once both nostalgic and totally modern.

‘Nabi’ - which translates as ‘Butterfly’ - is also Gou’s first ever vocal collaboration, as she teams up with fellow Korean sensation OHHYUK, the lead singer and guitarist in Hyukoh. It’s set to build on the widespread acclaim for her 2020 production collaboration with Baltimore techno legend Maurice Fulton (on his ‘Jigoo’ release for Gudu), ‘Nabi’ is the first of two songs Peggy Gou will release over the coming months.

While the forthcoming follow up is set to dial up the tempo, kicks, 808’s and 909s to soundtrack a summer where we can all (hopefully) dance together in our thousands again, ‘Nabi’ is very much the sound of now – a lowkey anthem fuelled by feelings of hope, freedom and positivity for what’s to come.

The unstoppable tag team Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer aka Tuff City Kids have another surprise up their sleeves with their first full on vocal track Labyrinth", which is also a precursor of the soon to be released first TCK album. Who else but Norwegian wonder woman Annie could be better suited for the job on the microphone The result is a timeless disco mutant for all centuries. And who else but New York Don Morgan Geist could do the remix job He delivers a notorious Disco Dub version that lets all of you Disco vampires burst into flames. If this wasn't enough Tuff City Kids give themselves a taste of their own sweet medicine and lift Labyrinth' onto the thougher club floors. For all creative DJs, there is also a heavy percussion workout by mysterious DJ Oyster. Here we go again!

The imprint is home to many a DJ's favourite tracks from the '90s with a back catalogue filled with pure gold! Packed, full of dance music nuggets.

Chubby Chunks 'Testament 1' was one of those records! It had a universal appeal: played in all genres of the club night, none of the mainstream. Building all the way, the funky beats, cool riffs, acid line and piano are all layered together, flowing and fluid. It is still a great tune today having been quite different when it was released back in 1993 but always a winner!

Fast forward to 2021 and the new mixes. First up to the plate, Cream resident Paul Bleasdale teams top with Mr Jay to turn in a pumping house version that brings the original bang up to date.

On the B side Loveface have opted for a more discofied, funk fulled nu-disco filled vibe with its heavy bassline and percussive groove, before the classic original Mix gets a fresh re-master to close things out.

Erol Alkan further expands on his production for Duran Duran’s acclaimed 2021 studio album, ‘FUTURE PAST’, with a ceremonious, widescreen rework of the single ‘GIVE IT ALL UP’.

Recorded in London with founding members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor, as well as Blur's Graham Coxon on guitar, ‘GIVE IT ALL UP’ also features contributions from Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo, whose soaring vocals anchor the dramatic progression of Alkan’s sensitive reinterpretation.

Blossoming in unison with Le Bon’s own iconic voice and an insistent bassline that recalls the band’s innovative ‘Night Versions’, Alkan draws closer together Duran Duran’s legendary instinct for both pop music and the dancefloor alike. Expanding on this, the 12” includes a ‘Stripped Vox’ version which appears exclusive to the vinyl edition, arranged by Alkan for his own DJ sets and proven to be a powerful tool at clubs and festivals over the past few months.

None come much bigger than the pairing of legendary synth alchemist Patrick Cowley and the incredible gay icon Sylvester. 'Menergy' is such a classic record, a slamming piece of HI-NRG funk that will have everybody within the nearest vicinity on the dance-floor in a heartbeat, the sound of early 80's gay San Francisco, unashamed, proud and ridiculously ahead of it's time. Pair this music with the skills of cult producer and editor extraordinaire Purple Disco Machine and you have a potential new classic on your hands! This PDM extended mix is backed with the killer original mix and is undoubtedly an unmissable reissue package beautifully presented by your friends over at Unidisc.

There lies a certain guarantee of quality within every new Krystal Klear – especially on Running Back. After the still heavily rotating Piano Banana release, it is time for the versatile and valuable Connect EP. The four tracks here hit the mark between the confusion or disorientation of any dance music DJ and producer during lockdown, and the genre’s intrinsic ethos of better days , utopia and a certain relentless drive. Traces of such energies henpeck the Irish producer’s work and can also be found here.

Mega Chords kick off the round dance. Imagine the French Touch retouched, updated, refined and designed to empty the serotonin storage. Our Signal puts the lid back on the happiness box, paints a picture of pain and romance and is equally informed by Larry Heard mood boards as it is by Paninaro poetry. Flip it over for a stream lined and well-crafted tour de DJ. If there ever was something like a fair-spoken banger Telephone is the one. A racing motorbike on standby. Last, but not least, Paris Metro is a power house with a creative arrangement and an inventive spin that exceeds the limits of a normal DJ tool. Modern dance music with classic tropes and lots of strobes.
Krystal Klear gets that balance right. Mega Chords indeed.

Short: Four tracker by the lovable Krystal Klear on the ever-reliable Running Back imprint. Ranging from inventive DJ tools (Paris Metro) to bangers in a nightgown (Telephone) and from the French Touch retouched of Mega Chords to the hopeful heartsickness of Our Signal, it’s as versatile as it’s valuable and pretty much connects the sweet dots between Piano Banana, Cyclia One/Two und Divison Ave. Modern dance music with classic tropes and lots of strobes.

"Saturday Love's timeless disco anthem "2 B Free" is remix catnip, and every producer knocked this one out of the park. The piano-soaked collaboration between Boston beatsmith Kon and New York vocalist Fiorious gets masterfully reinvented by heavyweights Oliver Dollar and Baltra. Lerosa (Uzuri, Idle Hands, Lunar Disko) adds to his esteemed discography with an EP composed entirely during the summer of 2020. Several of his musical influences – I.M.S., Lee 'Scratch' Perry, James Stinson – can be heard across these four diverse tracks, as he jumps nimbly from italo to dub to house to electro. As always with Lerosa, though, the sound that emerges is distinctively his own, the result of daily cat-assisted studio time at his home in Dublin.

Produced by long-time collaborator of the group and fellow Motor City native Amp Fiddler and Mahogani Music regular Andrés, this slick, funk-filled and typically soulful vinyl release features the exceptional original version as well as Lyon house superstar Folamour’s remix, with his signature groove a perfect match for the Dames mesmerising vocal.

LIMITED EDITION - VINYL ONLY !

No fancy business class air lounge mumbo jumbo this time, no.8 just got clearance for take off and this one is first and foremost for the pilots. The A side hits you loud and direct like a Cessna Centurion engine, accessible, reliable and just damn good in the air. Now if B1 is some kind of an adventurous but gentle Doppel-decker, manoeuvrable small craft, then low altitude B2 breaks the cloud cover to take you on that magic night-flight you might later be uncertain if it ever really happened.

LPHWHTE is the third—and, likely, final—installment in our series of to-the-point LPH WHITE compilations. Four tracks bound together by their high-energy ebullience and zealous joy.
Jacques Renault's contribution is a full-hearted disco throwback with a smoky mystique; Kristy Harper comes correct with a pummeling acid belter; Laroze gives us a disco-house banger that zips by at a fast-forward, breakneck pace; and Keita Sano delivers a zoinked-out and looped-up rhythm boogie as the closer.

At the beginning of the ‘90s a new music wave was emerging in Italy. Inspired by an innate sense of freedom and experimentation and fuelled by the turmoil of the club scene and record shops, a generation of Italian DJs and producers envision the sound of the future.

Going further into connecting Two Generations, distant yet neighbouring: the one that blazed the trail in the early nineties and the one that continues to follow it today. A new volume animated by the same spirit and attitude as the first one: not a nostalgic or commemorative operation, but a propulsive thrust for a possible evolution.

In continuity with the first part of the project, ‘Ciao Italia. Underground Generations - Volume 2’ surfs between the past, present and future, delving further into the origins of an era whose sounds and atmospheres remain an endless source of inspiration today. Artists who were often forced to use multiple aliases, a story that still sounds incredibly current and that has had the merit of breaking that stereotype of xenophilia of which our country is an undying victim. Much more than just a "scene" it can be described as a mental state, a lifestyle, marked by unifying electronic pulsations, exotic and dreamy, ecstatic and liberating.

The collection, of which a second double volume is expected before the end of the year, cherry picks another selection of seminal producers of that all-Italian golden age. Alongside this, it includes productions from some of the new ‘Underground Generation’, ideally inspired by the iconic sound of that time, but at the same time kaleidoscopic and ultra-contemporary. Evidence of an avant-garde that is bright and alive not only in memories, but even now more than ever, in the tracks produced by the likes of Baia Club (Whodamanny, Walter Del Vecchio and Dario Bassolino), Cosmo, Donato Dozzy & Rumi, Lorenzo Morresi and many more.

Once again, while the record slides under the needle, the hope is to be able to capture that magnetic atmosphere and regain possession of it for a few moments, clinging to the indomitable charm of the ‘underground’ grooves. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

'The Period Works Series has been a fantastic opportunity to explore one of my biggest personal influences in dance music ranging from the rich instrumentation of Disco, to the raw energy of early house music. After starting off with acapellas from the Z Records Library for inspiration in 2016, the series has now culminated into new and original songs influenced by a golden age passed. Thank you to David Lee and Z Records for the opportunity and creative direction, and thank you to everyone who has purchased, listened and danced to the Period Works Series.' - Crackazat

Released previously last year on CD and Digital only, this 12 inch features the 3 new tracks in the Period Works series plus a brand new track ’Sensationalised’.

This 5th chapter of exclusive compilations contains unreleased tracks from new members of the family, Dimitri for Paris offer a new song in collaboration with Aeroplane, and we know that an original track from Dimitri is a rare and precious gem, Jean Tonique is back on the roaster, together with Getaroom who joined force with Chloe from C.A.R., PoloCorp (half of Polo&Pan), Villa, Moonlight matters, Anoraak, Azur, Birdee & French toast are on the bill too.
Dombrance (part of DBFC with David Shaw) presents an Italo/electro track which is part of his surreal political new project.
More or less disco, disco or not disco, it’s always been difficult to see the boundaries of this mouvement and all the influences it infused on the electronic scene, Partyfine & Yuksek tried to answer the question and open the genre the wider they can.

Welcome to the modern Brazilian disco world of Processman and Cady. We know you're going to love it here.

DJ and producer Processman is from Salvador, Bahia. A passionate and talented musician, he has played in a number of bands in his city, which is famous for artists such as his heroes Gilberto Gil, Joao Gilberto and Jorge Amado.

Processman was introduced to Cady, a fellow Baiana and a very fine solo artist in her own right, by a mutual friend.
The connection was instant and they started making music that very day.

Fast forward to when Dicky Trisco was passing through Salvador after playing the magnificent Mareh festival in Bahia. Processman drove Dicky and a group of friends to local hot spot Pelourinho, and the first track he played in the car that night was 'Adupe'. Dicky was blown away by the track. The brilliant Brazilian percussion, the beautiful layered vocals, the spiritual, synth boogie-laden vibes and those delightful melodies. He was absolutely hooked. The second track Processman played was 'Sou Baiana' and a record deal was already a sure thing. They hadn't even made it to the bar yet.

A year later and the release is ready to let loose its magical, spiritual, boogie-laden vibes.

NYC Brazilian aficionado JKriv, the perfect choice for a remixer for this sound, has delivered an essential, cosmic disco dub of 'Adupe'.
While Dicky Trisco takes on 'Sou Baiana', stripping it down and pumping it up into a truly rocking dance floor bomb.

File it under Modern Brazilian Disco. A truly International sound.

LET'S VAMOS!

As we mentioned before, Siamese will not just be a platform for beautiful music but should also a playground for different kinds of art. As you might have already noticed, our artworks are images of hand-crafted pieces and with this Various Artists EP we are taking things one step further. Every track gets its very own artwork and all four artworks will be included as 30x30cm sized prints inside the first run of the vinyl! The A1 cut 'Something In Between' by ourselves is starting off this EP. Right about one year ago when we worked on a first attempt of our debut album we didn't quite came to an end a few tracks stayed with us. This is one of them and we felt the intro character of it is a good way to lead into this series. A2 is delivered by our close friend and partner Lehar who teamed up with Olderic, a respected DJ, producer and promoter from north Italy who is around since quite a while (check out his Cirq club in Venice). Their contribution 'Il Sole' follows the melodic route initiated by 'Something In Between'. On the flip side we finally get the chance to introduce Shiffer, a young and very talented musician from Basel. 'Drunk On Hope' demonstrates groove, emotion, depth and much more that makes it the perfect pick for B1. Watch out for more to come from him on Siamese! Closing the EP on B2 is ‚Monkey Mind' by Toto Chiavetta. 2016 was a great year for Toto, what an awesome album on Yoruba followed by a trippy-afro-house Record on Innervisions. 'Monkey Mind' continues exactly there, straight forward Groove without any compromises.

Duo, comprising lead singer of acclaimed indie band The Kooks, Luke Pritchard and his singer-songwriter wife Ellie Rose was formed in the red hot heat of passion, echoing sounds of French pop and a heady sense of intimacy. Sharing a fondness for sixties and seventies music and with an evident musical and physical chemistry between the two of them, Duo is an all-out passion project.

‘Lolita, No!’ carries a street-funk swagger personified by Ellie’s femme-fatal characterisation. This remix package of the track comes from Don Carlos, the Italian house legend whose track Alone is a Balearic classic and who is still now revered as one of the great Italian house DJs, and new talent Sempre who is taking the raw ingredients of that scene and making it his own in a futuristic way.

Lovanda is a husband and wife team from Russia who now step up for the eighth release on the Dobro label. They link up with some of their creative friends for an eight-track outing that brings plenty of uplifting vocal sounds to the fore. 'Samolet' feat Lipelis & Liza Gromova kicks off with acid-laced happy house drums and piano-packed grooves. 'Venera' has a compelling broken beat and glassy melodies while 'Kiwi' is a deeper and warmer cut for the later hours. The flipside features four more rich and feel good house sounds that cannot fail to get things pumping.
