House Vinyl New Releases - News

We are serious about our music here at Future Reactions. You can tell that from our first vinyl release, the Depth Sifters EP. Featuring cult producer Rick Wade, Detroit veteran Norm Talley, up-and-coming newcomer Cris J and the talent that is Satore, we think it is quite an introduction. It is Cris J, however, who has the honour of leading the way with Around Philly, a sumptuously soulful slab of deepness steeped in the traditions of house music, just the way we like it. Remember the name. Wade, by contrast, has long since made his name on the back of an endless list of must-have releases for the likes of Track Mode, Moods & Grooves and his own imprint Harmonie Park. He's in fine fettle here too with Clizias Theme, a cut imbued with the kind of genuine emotional content and quality we have come to expect from the man. Norm Talley's brand of beatdown and house has long been a favourite with collectors and connoisseurs alike. His handsome contribution here, Str8 Housin, is exactly that and some, owing much to the musical heritage of his home city. Young Spanish artist Satore, meanwhile, completes the line-up and continues to impress yet again with the infectious and supremely funky Moodment (Upstreet Mix).

Somewhere from the depths of space, the Closed Paradise Records' imprint has been born. At the helm of operations and providing the label's inaugural release is none other than Closed Paradise himself. Side A gets things going with You' which features Closed Paradise's trademark sounds of warm, driving melodies that are complimented nicely with arrangement of rhodes, pads, and soft vocal stabs throughout. On the flip, we delve deeper into space with Lotus' Beat-down tempo grooves. Minimood continues with a deep piece of heady minimal from esteem German producer Sascha Dive with a mesmerizing remix by celebrated Dutch producer Ion Ludwig.
The 'After The Storm' EP is released on Vinyl Only. 'After The Storm' is ten sumptuous minutes of moody and atmospheric deep minimal house with warbling synths, meandering drums and spooky, spaced out atmospheres. The drums roll on free from any friction and the pads are delicate, elegant affairs that circle round you and leave you hanging in a wide open space. Vocals sounds like those from a spaceship's PA and lend the whole thing a sense that you are voyaging through the galaxies. It is a truly burrowing track that gets right into your mind, body and soul. Ion Ludwig's remix is quicker and more synthetic, with waify pads, gently breaking waves and fizzing little modular synth lines that are crisp and rhythmic and will fit perfectly into a set by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos. This is classy and subtle music that is stripped back and slow burning yet has a huge impact.

Hessle Audio's Pangaea reworks two 90s tracks in his own style for 2017 dancefloors.

After 20 years as a dj and several releases on labels just like Anthony Rother´s Datapunk, Dave Clarke´s Whitenoise or co-labs with Gez Varley from LFO, Frank Kusserow took a longer break from the active electronic music scene. In the meantime he produced tons of new tracks that result in his new and vinyl only imprint Sprow Recordings. The name Sprow comes from his career as a BMX professional in the early 80´s and the logo of the label was created in that time also. Herewith he fulfills his long term dream to start a record label, where he only decides about the musical output. The labels philosophy is to always feature different styles on each release, from straight Techno to Acid, Dub, Detroit and more electro influenced or melodic stuff.

The first release "Mind the Acid EP" includes 3 tracks. "Mind the Acid" on the A-Side is a straight forward and epic acid stomper. "Altered States" on B1 is a hypnotic, more melodic piece of techno and "Dub Reason Pt.1" closes the EP with more dubby and quiet vibes. Stay tuned for more releases coming soon on Sprow Recordings.

Anyone who followed the development of house music made in the usa in the last decade will certainly have met the art of Fred Peterkin aka Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium.

His musical set phrase isn't following new trends. Fred is often simply melting shuffling percussions with elementary melodies. but he does it in a sense that the heavy used and abused phrase "deepness" finally gets a fresh truthfully new meaning.

Now we warmly welcome him to our stable with his Spiritually Runnin EP featuring the eponymous title track and Last Chance, two cuts of beauteous, textured, soul-warming house music that are proper deep too. Chicago, Chicago. It's our spiritual home here at Hizou. The city's musical influence and legacy shine brightly and proudly throughout our label. Perhaps never more so than on our latest release from enigmatic native Chicagoan, Spirit Of The Black 808. Having inherited his brother's seminal record collection at a young age and name-checking Larry Heard, Theo Parrish and Malik Pittman amongst his key influences, Sprit Of The Black 808 is steeped in the traditions we adore. His debut EP for us soundly testifies to that. Title-track Infroduction is a shuffling, slo-mo jam laden with atmosphere and groove in the mould of the great Mahogani Music and KDJ, a little more Detroit by design perhaps then, whereas by contrast Electronic Love is downright and unashamedly classic Chicago. Layers of melody and a super-deep groove are stamped all over I FunKd Up, whilst ethereal uptempo tool Rough Joint completes the package.

Dark and trippy sounds on a label straight from Berlin... In The Dark Again brings out music between Acid, New Wave/ Minimal Wave and psychedelic Techno and Dub. Made for the very special moments on the floor.
