Bengoa's 'Neftina Dub' has a subtle US garage shuffle to it that harks back to the 90s and Lex & Locke then bring rich paint chords and withering synth motifs to 'Atenas Blues' before Zaq's 'Make A Wish' shuts down with some cosmic rays of positivity. A fantastic EP so here's to the next five years.

Introducing the debut EP from the visionary electronic artist Federsen, What Robot Says Records proudly presents a mesmerizing journey into the depths of dub-infused electronic music. Last Nubian joins the ranks of Eglo Records with his ‘We Celebrate Us’ EP, a love letter to London and its diasporic community of musical creators, innovators and celebrators.

The EP is a soul filled, jazzed out affair, flirting with moments of deep and dubby House, skipping Broken Beat and bumping UKG. Last Nubians production continues the legacy of Underground, Black British Dance music, furthering the sonic conversation that grew out of Jamaican Soundsystem Culture, spilling onto the streets of London and bouncing between cities like Detroit, Chicago and New York. Culminating in a dynamic array of sounds, all of which can be found woven deep into the fabrics of this EP.

On ‘We Celebrate Us’ the Brixton based producer is joined by a talented cast of collaborators and vocalists, adding emotive vocal tones and inspired poetic verses. Across three original tracks and two deep, exploratory remixes, the producer evokes tones of West Londons notorious Broken Beat scene, the uplifting party grooves of Soul II Soul, the acidic bounce of Larry Heard and the deeply personal, reflective words of Linton Kwesi Johnson.
On EP opener ‘Black’ the groove is in full force, jazz out, syncopated and rich in its musical musings. Warm chords and a rich B-line carry us through the groove untill the flute takes over and ascends into a heavenly cacophony of sounds. The vibes go deep on bouncing House groover ‘Desolate Place’, allowing vocalist Queen Sherine to get introspective and deep with her lush, velvet tones and on ‘Intertwined Cultures’ poet Akeem delivers an ode to the magic of Nottinghill carnival, perhaps the true inspiration of the whole EP. Nothing could sum up the spirit of the record better than the words of Haseeb Iqbal on ‘Haseebs’ Interlude’, an eloquent poem, dedicated to this wonderful, sprawling city, and the energy it brings to the world, beautiful synthesised through the hands of Last Nubian.

The latest compilation album from COD3 QR is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity, featuring the usual wide range of electronic music, all handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X.

Calibre (Belfast-born Dominick Martin) should need little introduction. A painter, multi-instrumentalist, singer, writer, producer, DJ and general Drum & Bass don, with over 19 albums under his belt, opens up the release in fine style with the dubby "Sump Dub".

French DJ and Electro-Techno composer Seroplexx follows with "Alerte Rouge". Originally from an acoustic background, playing guitar, trumpet, drums, piano and clarinet he soon fell in love with electronic music and discovered modular synths.

There's more Techno in the form of "Timeline" by Costello, a versatile French electronic music producer, artist and DJ known for his cutting-edge sounds and technical prowess. His standout tracks have captured the attention of underground stalwarts as well as mainstream giants.

Heading in a Leftfield direction next is Marcelus with "Forward". Also hailing from France, he impressed early on with releases on DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted House before Tresor came calling. He describes his music as "personal and honest".



Staying with French producers, Subground 3000 delivers some Deep House on "Sound Migration (Lee Trax Garage Remix)" as well as the digital bonus track, "Little Reminder". Heavily influenced by Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Electronica and Cold Wave, he has previously released on the likes of Frequency Shift, Naeba, Nice & Nasty Records and more.



In a more Detroit style is "Cosmos" by Jim Rivers. Crossing the many bridges between House and Techno, since his Saw Recordings debut back in 2006, he's gone on to release a plethora of music and remixes across notable labels including Intec, Renaissance, Bedrock, Tronic, King Street and Faith.



Hailing from Yorkshire (UK) and Amsterdam (NL), the dynamic duo of Melatron & Ancient Artefact are modern pioneers of the Punk-Electro sound. Melatron brings raw energy and gritty productions, while Ancient Artefact weaves intricate electronic textures to form an electrifying sound on "I Get My Kicks" which closes the vinyl EP.



A second bonus track rounds off the digital package as Oliver Way (EPM's co-founder and Detroit Grand Pubahs' Mr O) and Dany Rodriguez (LINK Audio and LINK Festival creator) join forces again for the melodious Techno of "Third Act".

Emotional Response is proud to welcome renowned multi-instrumentalist Alan Briand aka Shelter, to the label with a striking new EP that delves deep into the realms of modern Digi-Dub.

Over a myriad of releases Shelter’s dextrous ability to straddle genres, from ambient, Balearic, improvisation and most recently a series of acid ragas, releasing on an impressive roster of today’s electronic labels including Antinote, Growing Bin, International Feel, Séance Centre and his own Protopost imprint.

After making waves on Emotional Response's All Trades compilations with his standout track "The Four Knights Dub," Briand returns to further explore his passion for digital dub and UK roots. Across four tracks, all recorded live, he merges sound design, found sounds, and world music with seismic basslines, creating a truly immersive sonic experience.

The rise of Digital Dub is often traced to the groundbreaking "Under Me Sleng Teng" by Prince Jammy / Wayne Smith, but it was the UK's later reversioning – adding electronic drums to roots and steppers rhythms – that gave birth to the unique sound of Digi-Dub.

Shelter pays homage to this tradition, drawing inspiration from the likes of Alpha & Omega, Bush Chemist, and Jonah Dan. His process is as raw as it is innovative: building an analog setup with a MIDI sequencer, DCO synth, live vocals, and sound effects fed through Boss pedals. Digital drums from the KPR77 and DD10 are layered in, with everything mixed live to tape, no overdubs, capturing the raw, live energy of the performance.

This EP must be experienced as a whole – a continuous live set of steppers 4/4 rhythms, cryptic titles (a nod to chess tactics) that acts as rewinds, paying tribute to dub classics of the past.

Side A ends with a mysterious electronica outro while Anton produced some chilled guitar riffs combined with acoustic signals and delays to finish the whole EP. We’re excited to present you Yurk’s First Vinyl album on Chomp! Chomp! This six-track all original music by Yurk, is diverse and rhythm heavy across the electronic genres. Kicking off the album with “Delay Tech,” this 90s-inspired acidic house track is festival-ready with big energy. Then we dive into “Bustin’” - a bouncy Tech House with punchy and multiform tones. Follow by “Sin Control,” warm Jazzy House grooves accompanied by delayed filled Trumpet theme. On the B side, “Cosita” - a hard-hitting Detroit-inspired dub techno composition that treks into 90s territory. Still Music Chicago is thrilled to announce the reissue of Jiraffe's ''Out'A The Box,'' a legendary dance record from New York City. Originally released in 1988 on Goldqwest Records, this track emerged from the collaboration between Richie Weeks and Al Smith. This limited 12'' release includes a full sleeve with a never-before-seen picture of Richie Weeks with Vaughan Mason at Vaughan home studio and a story of ''Out'A The Box''. Richie Weeks, known for his work with The Jammers and Weeks & Co, founded Goldqwest Records after Salsoul Records closed. Inspired by his friend Vaughan Mason, Richie ventured into house music production, recording demos that caught the attention of Reynald ''Crazy Frenchman'' Deschamps of M.T.I Exports. A generous supporter funded Goldqwest's third release, leading to Richie and Al Smith creating ''Out'A The Box'' at Al's home studio in Philadelphia. The track blended post-disco, dance, latin, and proto-house elements, achieving cult status among DJs worldwide.
