We’re more than proud to present the first album on our label. A few words from the maestro, Anton Kubikov:
What was the first egg or chicken remains a mystery to me. But what is absolutely clear - the first was the sound. And to this day, the defining in my settings is one or another wave ripple. After many of my dub releases, I decided to follow the big bang path and create an album from one point and bloom like a flower bud, filling it with different shades, micro-changing the waves of each track, adhering to the monochrome of the first point, or rather the chord. Ambient Occlusion is not a sound concept, but one way or another defining the sound of the album, when the missing is filled with the drawing algorithm. And yet, with all the technogenic description, the feelings and sensations of the surrounding space and time in which the creation took place were at the forefront. It remains personal and I hope I was able to convey the invisible that appears at the fingertips when a spark occurs. Separately, I want to note the history of the creation of the album cover by Anja Kubik, since it is already a separate art object in itself, made by hand on canvas using a unique embroidery technique and complementing the sound system of the album.

French producer, DJ and RDV (Recit de Voyage) label owner returns to the label this April with her ‘Thoughts Of Day’ EP, accompanied by remixes from Giegling’s Koreander and Fred P.
Since launching the RDV Music imprint in 2017, Molly has welcomed an array of up-and-coming talent and long-time respected figures in the contemporary house and techno scene onto the imprint, such as Dana Ruh, Cosmin TRG, Wbeeza, Aybee, Orion and many more. Here though, Molly steps into the spotlight herself with a new full-length EP for the label, the vinyl version features two originals and two remixes, while a further two originals will surface as bonus cuts on the digital release.
First up on the EP is the original mix of ‘ It Feels Like It Only Goes Backwards’, encapsulating Molly’s signature deep aesthetic via hazy atmospherics and swirling dub textures, floating atop a bouncy sub bass groove and swinging, organic drums. Kettenkarussel member Koreander’s ‘Final Relief Remix’ of ‘It Feels Like It Only Goes Backwards’ follows, offering an ambient twist on the original version, taking the hypnotic elements, and reshaping them into a murky, subtly unfurling six and a half minute beatless interpretation.
Next up on the flip side, Fred P reworks ‘Sweet Afternoon’, delivering a typically classy deep house cut driven by a choppy bass line, bright string stabs and crisp, bumpy drums. Molly’s ‘Mercure’ then completes the package, embracing a more groove driven feel as plucked bass notes, swelling subs, mesmerising synth flutters, and swinging drums develop in a subtly nuanced fashion throughout.

Ultramarine & Anna Domino meet again for a reworking of their collaborative track '$10 Heel'.
The song originally appeared on the Ultramarine album Signals Into Space (Les Disques du Crépuscule, 2019). $10 Rework replaces the urgent, jittery rhythm of the original with a straighter House backbone and then proceeds to disassemble the structure with a pair of freestyle, hands-on-the-desk, on-the-fly dub mixes.
Anna Domino's stream-of-consciousness lyrics tell the impressionistic tale of post-club after-hours chaos in Times Square, NYC circa 1979. Anna raps off studio equipment brand names like passing neon signs glimpsed in a blur through a taxi cab window.
Iain Ballamy wields his saxophone like a graffiti artist with a spray can; scrawling and skronking across the canvas. Ric Elsworth lurks in a side alley, unraveling a trash can monologue of wild flamming bongos.
Ultramarine is the UK duo of Ian Cooper & Paul Hammond. Formed in 1989, their albums include Every Man and Woman is a Star (Rough Trade, 1991), United Kingdoms (w/ Robert Wyatt) (Blanco Y Negro, 1993) and Signals Into Space (w/ Anna Domino) (Les Disques du Crépuscule, 2019).
Anna Domino is an American musician based in LA and NY, best known for her classic run of releases on Belgian label Les Disques du Crépuscule in the 1980s and '90s.
Iain Ballamy is a composer and saxophonist; a member of the Loose Tubes collective in the 1980s and more recently with several albums to his name on ECM.
Ric Elsworth is UK-based percussionist and vibraphone player.

2x12" Reflecting on a career spanning three decades, Luke Slater is a true dance music legend. The British producer has not only been pivotal in the rise of techno but his work continues to play a vital role in driving the genre forward, particularly under his Planetary Assault Systems name. Following its launch in 2006, Slater's L.B.Dub Corp moniker has been responsible for refreshing house music on labels like Mote-Evolver and Ostgut Ton, with the latter hosting the pseudonym's debut album in 2013. 'Side Effects' is the project's first body of work since then. "I wrote the tracks over the last year between being on the road as P.A.S. and playing a few L.B.Dub Corp house sets, which naturally evolved into 'Side Effects' almost accidentally" - Luke Slater Crashing stabs and a rolling hook inaugurate the album in 'Reel One' before the meandering 'Night Time Hawk' demonstrates effervescent effects and bursts of white noise. Commanding kicks and a moody bassline make up the robust 'Edge 7' whilst 'IELBEE' exhibits a bouncy aesthetic complete with intricate melodies. 'Float When You Can' is dark and ominous from the off but an echoing note sequence adds a glimmer of light, making way for the reverberating mechanics of 'Bass Machine' before leading into the twisted sounds and ghostly air of 'Forever In A Day'. Nearing the end, 'LBEES Jam' is the most lighthearted track on the album with its twinkling lead melody until Slater rounds off the release with a soulful and vocal driven affair 'All Got To Live'.

Yantra (or Rerajahan in the Balinese culture and Sanskrit word for ‘a machine’) is a representation of the Tantric traditions of the Hinduism religions, used to worship deities and to gain benefits from their supposed occult powers. Its geometrical pattern changes the vibrations of the space it is placed in, altering frequencies.
On a view of the universe as a correlation of sound and frequencies, wavelengths have compression and rarefaction, representing dualities in our existence.

Toronto label Selections has become a firm favourite with house heads and now starts a nice sideline with its Special Edition 2023 series. This one welcomes Lea Lisa with her track 'Conversation Between Us' (Heide Club Mix) which is straight up underground house for the heads. Then comes an unreleased Javonntte remix of Evenn's 'One For Love' that pairs things back to raw dub essentials. Dan Only's 'Love Saturates' then gets a fine and formerly unreleased remix by Italy's Black Loops that has pristine drum programming and a fine bassline. Add in Sean Roman's jazzy dancer 'Sir William' and Jamn Ensemble's 'Convection' and you have a timeless house EP.

Drush emerges from the pixelated haze to make his debut on Fast Castle. "Archipelago" is a collection of three versatile and playful post-dancehall hybrids with plenty of bass and full of creativity. Recorded in improvised live takes in Drush's NK hideout, the cuts feature signature progressive arrangements and an unpolished live feel.
Taking up the full depth of Side A, "Birds and Bass" kicks things off with pitched percs, sharp drums and a pulsating bass before a psycho-bird melody lifts you to a lucid dance craze. The flip shines light on a sunnier vibe with "Archipelago" and "Flat Earth Dub" both hoovering and modulating around soothing melodies, generous bass swells and occasional dub-outs.

Dub-Stuy kicks off 2023 with a very special collaboration between Nazamba, the "voice of thunder," and California-based producer Dubamine. This is one of the last projects Nazamba recorded before his sudden passing following a string of singles on Dubquake records and a collaboration with The Bug. In his label return after a five-year hiatus, Dubamine showcases his trademark heavyweight production style which perfectly complements Nazamba’s dub poetry, reminiscent of LKJ and Prince Far I. Together, they crafted a meditative anthem that is mellow and introspective, yet driving and dance inducing.
The release’s title track, “Cool & Relax” is a welcome invitation to slow down, take a breather, and reconsider what is important in life. As mental health crises skyrocket and self-care becomes increasingly important, Nazamba invites the listener to disconnect from the stress of the city. His rhythmic and percussive chanting of “cool, relax, easy” brings to mind the thunder of a spring rain storm, tremendous, bright, and soothing. Dubamine’s production emphasizes this sense of calm and contemplation while keeping the track rooted in the dancefloor, with its bubbling bassline and massive kick. With sharp percussion that bolster the vocals and a sitar melody that suggest an Eastern influence, “Cool & Relax” induces listeners into a meditative state, as Nazamba intones “peace and tranquility, at last.” The B-side, “Nature’s Dub”, is an instrumental that expands on the meditation theme, this time through Dubamine’s darker side. With bass heavy enough to shake the ground beneath your feet, combined with an ingenious use of samples and sonic wizardry, this is a dub for the true sound system fiends, with sub frequencies that pump through your veins like blood.
Music is the imprint that best honors the legacies of artists that left us. “Cool and Relax” is the perfect track to end a session, conjuring Nazamba as he would want to be remembered: an artist, a voice for change, and a source of power and inspiration. RIP George “Nazamba” Scott.

Guber is a blue-collar bass music producer from Paris. While you may think he’s newcomer in the local electronic scene, he has already released several records from Paris-based Beat X Changers, Bad Winners Records labels as well as several self-releases that has been heard all around Europe. His influences come from the 90’ metal scene to the UK Bass 2010 decade bangers, both following common paths of massive sub-frequencies shocks and obsessional drum loop. When Guber is self-releasing, his visual identity is heavily influenced by asset plants & machinery from the Energy Industry and enable to finally produce overall tracks with a universe deeply reflecting his own day-to-day work environment.
Wrong Ibiza EP follows 2 opposite dynamics from mental endothermic deployments to spontaneous exothermic loop deliveries. One face that is more uncertain, with bass lines densely packed with Brazilian-influenced drums, while the other is composed with tech-house cuts dimensioned and played around different rhythms and tempos. Guber shows in 'Wrong Ibiza' he is a savant in creating an engaging tapestry of sample loops, a sonic magic carpet ride of forgotten genres, a ride that does not lean on nostalgia to create magic but utilizing his uncompromising ears to weaves and waves decades of dance music sounds into a new end-product for the here and now.
The final remix from Ploy is overarching and consolidates the whole EP around sharp resequenced loops based on the main sample cuts. Diligent 148 bpm-remix, the track focuses on the development of hard cut vocals from the original mix, mechanically deployed among muddy atmospheric breaks. Side elements moving forward enhance the whole structure to deliver pure mental vibe construction.
New York DJ, producer and Maya Records founder Joeski returns to Crosstown Rebels in December. Jah Unite pays tribute to Joeski's long-running appreciation for Reggae dub with two tracks of stripped-back house with a roots twist.
The title track opens with minimal drums and a saxophone-led melody. Joeski stitches reggae vocals across the breakdown, evoking a gorgeous, sun-kissed soundscape. On In This Life, the producer layers snappy percussion with distant drum rolls and laidback keys while Reggae vocals wind through the atmosphere. An irresistible groove.
Brooklyn-born Joeski began his DJing journey in 1989, honing his craft throughout the 90s in some of the finest New York-based clubs like Limelight, Tunnel and The Roxy. Today, Joeski is an established producer, selector and boss of the long-running label Maya. He's released classic to contemporary sounds on labels like NRK, Ministry of Sound, Defected, Bedrock, Nervous, Cajual and KMS, further adding to his credibility as a critical talent in the house and techno realms. As a DJ, Joeski has performed across the Americas and Canada, building a loyal fanbase. Although he's been on the scene for over three decades, Joeski doesn't rest on his laurels. He constantly evolves his approach while staying grounded in the process. In other words, he's a real one.

Signature is a project containing 6 tracks marking Lehar and Musumeci sound on their label Multinotes. Lehar presents three tracks staying faithful to his musical aesthetics made up of dreamlike melodies and narrative arrangements. Musumeci goes back to his roots by releasing three old school oriented tracks interlacing acid basslines and 808/909 drum patterns with rough pianos and emotional synths.

Rund 20 Jahre sind Dub Spencer & Trance Hill im Musikbusiness unterwegs und nach wie vor hungrig wie eine Raupe im Blätterwald. Vermeintlich dominierte dabei stets die Dub-Komponente, egal, ob sie humorvoll-intelligent mit Weihnachtsliedern, Spoken Words oder Italo Western vermischt wurde. Doch spielte immer auch das Elektronische, Psychedelische, der "Trance" eine wichtige Rolle im Schaffen der europaweit bekannten Schweizer Band. Nun endlich erhält diese Facette ihren gebührenden Platz auf dem neuen, zwölften Longplayer des Quartetts: "Imago Cells" heißt das Album und markiert eine Metamorphose. Aus dem Alten entsteht also das Neue, und so verschmilzt der Dub mit Elektronischer Tanzmusik oder besser: "Trancemusik"? Die Tracks stehen klar im Zeichen des Up-Tempos und laden zum Raven ein. Weiter ist auch das Klangbild noch bassiger und psychedelischer geworden, ohne jedoch den organischen Touch zu verlieren. So blubbern, echoen und grooven denn die acht Songs tierisch gut, klingen unverkennbar nach Dub Spencer & Trance Hill und zugleich versteht man, dass der einzige Weg das Neue ist. Ein wahrhaft magischer Augenblick, wie die Geburt des Schmetterlings.

This release was certainly not meant to be a 'Best of' compilation but it is a collection of special moments that Sergio and Pablo wanted to capture and share on one definitive release.This is an opportunity to look back on Pulshar's career in a retrospective and reflect about how their background and influences have led to the complete sound of the act.
UMBRA / LUX (title based on their production technique that naturally blends dark and light aesthetics) contains 17 tracks that traverse the gamut of their sound with an impeccable level of quality.

(Ricardo Villalobos, Ada & Tolouse Low Trax Remixes)
This EP is more than your usual remix package—»Remixed« is a meeting of kindred, idiosyncratic spirits. Ricardo Villalobos, Ada, and Tolouse Low Trax each give a new spin to one track from »You're Super In Diagonal«, the latest album by Ant Orange. Their versions of »Monogome«, »Flutter«, and »Cracker« are complemented by the brand-new track by the elusive artist, »FFF«.
Villalobos keeps it short and sweet—at least by his standards. His rendition of »Monogome« translates the mutant jungle vibes of the original into an entirely different dialect while maintaining its psychedelic qualities. The chugging, nine-minute-long »Siebhouse Remix« is at once rhythmically intricate and positively disorientating. Ada proves to be as imaginative as ever with her first remix in three years. Her take on the album opener »Flutter« extracts the track’s warmth and transplants it into a laid-back downbeat track. She also incorporates the vocals from »Monogome«, but gives it a very different spin and adds a healthy dose of autotune to it in the process. Dreamy, hazy, blissful.
On the flipside, Detlef Weinrich approaches things very differently. His »Bo Bo Zy Remix« of »Cracker« offers industrial at its most inebriated, dub riddims after a bottle of hard liquor instead of a spliff. Ant Orange’s »FFF« then seems to mediate between those three very different approaches: danceable yet melancholic, challenging yet restrained, it picks up on the underlying concept of »You're Super In Diagonal«, combining IDM’s penchant for complex rhythmic structures and a directness inherent to hip-hop music since the early days of the genre up until the age of UK drill.

Given Massive Attack's background, it was almost inevitable that they'd release a dub overhaul of one of their albums at one point. That time came in 1995, when British sound system legend Mad Professor - responsible for some of the greatest UK-made dub records of all time - put his distinctive twist on Protection. 21 years on, the set still sounds sublime: a radical translation that frequently bares only a passing resemblance to the Bristol band's original. It's packed with highlights, from the spaced-out, dub-house rework of "Spying Glass" ("I Spy"), to the ricocheting percussion hits and twinkling pianos of "Weather Storm (Cool Monsoon)", and creepy, delay-laden string surges of "Eternal Feedback (Sly)".
Erol Engintalay's Monomotion project is back with a thrilling new collection of tunes. Sides is an energizing and iridescent trip down the echoing, cavernous halls of dub techno, instantly conjuring the
type of late nights and dark, crowded rooms that this music is meant to soundtrack. His first release in three years, Engintalay showcases a new set of talents on Sides, an affirmation of this special artist’s
stylistic versatility as well as a gesture towards what’s to come from him.
Sides follows 2019’s Fujisan, which captured Engintalay’s capability for crafting shimmering, gorgeous tapestries of electronic music. This time around, he’s turned towards his love of four-to-thefloor dance music—a stylistic shift inspired by time spent DJing in Paris last summer. “I wanted to get back to my origins,” he says while talking about the new sonic direction, exclaiming a sentiment
shared by dance fans the world over: “I missed playing clubs and DJing!” “It brought me back to why I wanted to make music to begin with,” Engintalay reflects on a particular
experience of spinning atop a Parisian terrace. “I wanted to bring the club back to my compositions.” After years of working with the famed Fruity Loops software, he switched to Ableton Live and
discovered a whole new array of sounds within the production software that unlocked previously unknown potential in his music.
Indeed, the title of Sides is a gesture towards Engintalay’s boundless sense of discovery when it comes to creating in the studio. “I can do a lot of different styles, I’m very versatile,” he explains.
“Right now, I’m into club music, which is the music I love. I still hold the groove and the rhythm close to my heart.”
“Mirage” percolates with the effervescence of classic Kompakt material, while the rubbery rhythms that course through “Echoes” are utterly entrancing—and then there’s the huge-sounding title track,
which patiently builds over nearly eight minutes to a purely ecstatic peak. “It’s a banger of a track,” Engintalay marvels while talking about the song. “I imagine it being played at a warehouse with tons
of people and sweating walls. It brings me a massive feeling.”
And bringing that massive feeling is what Sides is all about, as Engintalay explains that exercising these new creative muscles might sound different, but in the end it’s all about his own personal love
of exploring new worlds of sound. “I love to make different kinds of music, and with this project my approach hasn’t changed—I’m just doing what I love,” he says, and when it comes to Sides, you’ll
find his enthusiasm contagious as a listener.

As one of the three co-founders of Washington D.C. production and DJ trio Black Rave Culture, James Bangura is no stranger to situating electronic music within its most purposeful and potent contexts. With this new duo of tracks, however, Bangura taps into a deep, personal internality, metabolising visceral experiences and personal transitions into unexplored phases of his musical life.
The bass-forward “Harrar” is a complex organism which operates on two planes: a sweat-drenched 150pm symphony of synth pulses, fidgety percussion, shimmies and distorted vocals, that falls into lockstep with a
meditative, dubby bass tone that calmly swells and recedes. Emerging out of Bangura’s high intensity hardware jam sessions with friends and collaborators, both the depth and energetic fizz of “Harrar”’ are signified by its name, borrowed from Harrar Coffee & Roastery--a beloved Ethiopian coffee house and community meeting place in Washington D.C. that radiates warmth and familiarity.
“Witness Dub” occupies less of the senses, exploring a state of liminality through a contemplative deep house signature. Having emerged from an extended period of active duty in the military, Bangura had to navigate civilian life for the first time, causing him to process multiple culture shocks that stretched across culture, language, communication and identity. “Witness Dub” finds Bangura at this crossroad, juxtaposing the steady propulsion of kicks and drums with pensive minor key chords, as he begins to explore the other side of the self, letting the energy guide the music.

Following his sultry contribution to our six year compilation, SNFSS016 sees Tour-Mauborg provide a blissful journey through the most uplifting corners of house, making stops along the way at Italo, Balearic and cosmic disco.
Whilst the two jubilant opening tracks set the tone for the release, "Interdub" is driven by hollow percussion and sees the record at its most stripped-back. On Dub 003, he teams up with French house connoisseurs, Cosmonection and Marc Bianco, on a warming deep house track, oozing with groove.
Finally, to complete the record's joyous exploration of house styles, hypnotic melodies energise the two closing tracks and capture the transportive allure of the Belgian producer's music.

Orlando B returns with a timeless track, ‘Foreversong’ for the sixth installment on his ‘Contemplate Recordings’ label.
Running in at just over 10 minutes, ‘Foreversong’ is an emotive “tour de force” showcasing his love for nostalgic, ‘Detroit’ influenced melodies and tugging string lines. With its uplifting vibe and atmospheric breakdown, ‘Foreversong’ is the perfect “end of the night” track.
‘New Day’ kicks off the B-Side with an uplifting piano house intro’ and a cheeky oldskool vocal sample. The arrangement builds gradually before the kick and bass line drop, taking it to the next level.
Closing track ‘Dark Place’ goes down a stripped back techno route to compliment the first two melodic house tracks. The main riff was born out of a jam session, playing around with a twisted hypnotic synth line which mutates throughout keeping the listener locked in. Muted percussion and a subby bass sound give this track a dark warehouse vibe, ideal for moody clubs around the land.

Over 2016-19 Big Ever released a string of EPs and singles under the name Cop Envy; through Black Opal, Templar Sound, Cry Baby Records, Decisions and Hypercolour. Brighton-based Caldera is a talent behind the decks, but is perhaps even more remarkable in his studio expertise: his subtle productions weave a seemingly effortless sense of pace and texture, groove and abstraction, weight and space. For this colourful outing he channels - in turns - David Moufang, Thomas Fehlmann, Yanneck Salvo, and Sebastian Meissner, with deep techno, sumptuous house and beguiling ambience the bewitching end product.
Stefan Schwander aka A ROCKET IN DUB has been producing electronic music in Düsseldorf since the mid-1990s. He releases under a variety of pseudonyms such as Antonelli, Repeat Orchestra, Rhythm Maker, Harmonious Thelonious and While My Sequencer Gently Weeps. His music draws influences from techno, disco music (especially Giorgio Moroder), new wave, dub, abstract electronica and African music. In 2002, he released "Rocket No. 3", an old-school dub house classic with a distinctive vocoder voice. 20 years later, he has re-recorded the track together with JAN DELAY on vocals. Both musicians share a great passion for dub music. Jan's great voice is just as distinctive as the vocoder 20 years ago and adds a touch of humanity to the original. The collaboration is released as a limited 7" single with artwork by Hendrik Krawen.

Esa's Aweh label is back with its second release, this time Esa’s Afro-Synth Band share their Brazilian boogie influences on “Vem Comigo”, which migcatch live over the summer at some festivals including Lente Kabinet in Amsterdam, or The Jazz Cafe in London. This is a special collaboration with singer/ songwriter Diego Moraes from São Paulo, and Forest Law who’s part of the Afro-Synth Band. Vem Comigo features in The Invisible Hand Podcast project, and Aweh continues the storytelling of these important topics.

The sound company operating under the project name "Noiseshaper" is poised to release a very special vinyl album into record shops worldwide. Dial Records boss Carsten Jost joins Hypallage Project and Potomac to deliver four hypnotic cuts on their Avant-Propos imprint.
Carsten Jost aka David Lieske is the co-founder of Dial Records, the formidable German record label with twenty years’ worth of standout releases from artists such as DJ Richard, Roman Flügel, Efdemin, fellow co-founder Lawrence and Carsten himself to name a few. ‘Cruise’ EP sees him join the newly formed Parisian imprint from the Spazio Tempo residents Hypallage Project and Potomac following the first pair of releases on the imprint that picked up support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Oceanic, B.Traits, Conforce and many more. Carsten Jost’s remix of Hypallage Project’s ‘Cruise’ from the last EP gets things rolling with ethereal pads, dubtinged atmospheres and glistening melodies which unravel gracefully throughout before Hypallage Project’s ‘Endless’ continues with absorbing ambience balancing muddy soundscapes and meditatively, engaging tones.
On the flip, Carsten Jost’s ‘Credit de Cloture’ is a rousing, stripped-back cut featuring tranquilising synths, serene leads floating above twinkling, aquatic melodies and deep-riding drums until Potomac rounds off the EP with ‘Gasless Starship’ which beautifully harmonises laid-back, breaky percussion, sparse modulations and soothing compositions subtly giving off an entrancing aura.

The Mysticisms label welcomes Coral D aka Duncan Stump for a debut outing here that marks the first new music to be part of the ongoing and most excellent Dubplate series. This artist has a long history of crafting "deep dub electronic swing" in his roles in Mock & Toof, FX Mchm and his 6000 Degrees project. This one finds him bringing some dub reggae influences as 'Dissolves' is built on a chugging rhythm with smeared chords. 'DR 55' is then a masterfully laidback digi-dub groove that warps space and time and so leaves you utterly hypnotised.
Nine-piece West Africa-via-Melbourne ensemble Ausecuma Beats and improvised collective Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, also known as Z*F*E*X, reveal a new collaborative EP out August 19 via Music in Exile.
Call it a match made somewhere in musical heaven, the minds behind Ausecuma Beats, comprised of members from Senegal, Mali, Cuba and Guinea, found they melded easily with Z*F*E*X following weeks of recording and sharing material remotely together.
Z*F*E*X themselves, an ensemble comprised of drummer Zeke ‘Ziggy’ Zeitgeist, keyboardist and producer Lewis Moody, bassist Matthew Hayes, and a rotating cast of guests, are prolific musicians themselves with weighty credentials spread across their base locations of Australia, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
Thus, from a backyard shed in Dandenong North, Australia, some of West Africa’s finest would record simple percussive tracks, which then surfed the airwaves via studios in Melbourne, Berlin and London, to finally land back on listeners doorsteps as a forthcoming collaborative EP, Deep Heat/Tropical Storm.
Starring two guest vocalists who are some of the most invigorating in their respective scenes - Latin America via Berlin star Gotopo, and Melbourne’s own Rara Zulu - the EP’s beginnings in percussive exploration are transformed into a must-have record of all bangers.

Legendary UK dub techno pioneers Glyn 'Bigga' Bush and Richard Whittingham aka Rockers Hi-Fi, originally formed in 1992 in Birmingham. Rockers Hi-Fi gained a cult following in the early years of dub-techno and soundsystem culture with their psychedelic, bass-heavy blend of dub, house, techno, beats and drum & bass.
Rockers Hi-Fi first met when Dick was putting on nights in Brum whilst working as a carpenter, after Glyn needed work doing on his house, the pair got chatting. One thing led to another and they eventually set up a studio in Glyn's living room, where the majority of the first Rockers Hi-Fi album was recorded. Following a signing at Island Records in '93, the pair expanded to a studio above a piano store in the centre of Birmingham.
A lot of these tracks presented here were influenced by musical outfits like Mo Wax, Metalheadz, Shut Up & Dance, Scientist, and King Tubby. Glyn's and Dick's music also heavily sampled 90's hip-hop, and the classic New York house sound i.e. Kenny Dope, Bobby Konders, Nervous Records & Strictly Rhythm. Not forgetting the Birmingham Diskery, a record store where the pair found plenty inspiration amongst film soundtracks, spoken word LP's and other obscure records which became part of the Rockers sound.
We're pleased to present a selection of tracks from their formative years, mainly encompassing the club ready, dancefloor centred part of their discography. This reissue LP includes a mixture of sought after bangers, as well as some lesser known tracks which people may not have heard.
