Dark Entries has raided the bathhouse to bring us Deep Entries: Gay Electronic Excursions 1979-1985, 10 tracks of obscure queer synth bliss. One of Dark Entries' most important missions has been illuminating neglected facets of gay musical history, with crucial archival works by legends like Patrick Cowley, Sylvester, and Man Parrish. On Deep Entries, the label spans 6 years of gay electronics - from sultry to angsty to camp, these songs are overflowing with snappy 808 snares and sinewy analog synth leads. The '80s were a difficult period for many in the gay community as they grappled with the horrors of the HIV/AIDS crisis. The 10 tracks on Deep Entries, varied in genre and vibe, are united in their portraiture of 1980s gay life, and the hope for love or fleeting romance. Previously unreleased cruising soundtracks come courtesy of Patrick Cowley’s “Love Me Hot” featuring vocalist Paul Parker and Boytronic’s “Tonight (Alternate Mix)” set on Hamburg’s famous “Mile of Sin.” Brisbane-based Megamen deliver the proto-electroclash number “Designed for Living,” which prefigures Madonna’s Marlene Dietrich rap in “Vogue.” Trans vocalist Paula "Ula" Villagrá declares, “Everyone is gay!” on Muzak’s “Happy Song,” a skittering tecnopop anthem. Dereck Higgins' “This Was Something” rings like a lost Joy Division cut draped in bizarre effects, and Polar Praxis’ “(I Want) To Be Different” is a seething ode to alterity. Nightmoves’ “Nightdrive,” is best known as the brooding instrumental B-side to their epochal “Transdance.” Transistor Jet’s “Master Of The Universe (BW's f-w)”, Maxx Mann’s “Just Like a Razor” and Bachelor’s Anonymous’ “A Stranger’s Bed” are mood music for the pleasures of BDSM and one-night stands. The record comes housed in a retro bathhouse fantasy sleeve designed by Gwenaël Rattke and includes a double-sided poster with photographs and lyrics. Deep Entries arrives on December 1st in honor of World AIDS day, and proceeds will go to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

"Trip Hop Vintage Sounds" is a 2023 compilation album by Wagram Music that features various tracks from artists such as Kid Loco, Zero 7, and Etienne De Crécy. It is a collection of downtempo, atmospheric music that blends hip-hop beats with other genres like dub, soul, and jazz, characteristic of the trip-hop sound that originated in the UK in the 1990s.

Disco Mind taps into a rich vein full of Italy's freshest electronic talents here with a glorious new EP for retro-future dancefloors. Kicking things off is Naples-based Lance, who channels proto-house ruggedness and glossy Italo disco melodies on 'Renato Superstar, which is an homage to a cult 80s film. Club Mediterraneo follows with 'Prima Cala' and provides a shimmering Balearic bliss for sunset sessions, and Sparking Attitude makes a strong first impression with 'Au Revoir Bonsoir,' which sinks into slinky deep house grooves with a touch of filter sync madness. Leslie Lello and Luksek join forces on 'Caravan' for a sugary-sweet nu-disco finish, lovely analogue drums and a carefree attitude.

Straight from the heart of Amsterdam’s vibrant club scene, PIV founder Prunk and RED 87 offer up a first-time collaboration with ‘Express’, bringing together lush synth pads, simmering hi-hats, and echoed vocal snippets, crafting a warm, hypnotic energy that reflects the pair’s signature sound. Next up and hotly tipped DJ/producer Rafael linking up with fellow countryman Mishell, whose psychedelic take on House and Indie Dance, together, they make their label debut on Jones’ Hot Creations with ‘Naughty’, bringing a fresh burst of House energy as they blend their distinctive styles.

On the flip and a name ascending from the Netherlands’ thriving house scene, Easttown makes his debut on ‘Rocking To The Rhythm’ which sets the pace with tight drums, grooving bass, and a clear-cut sense of movement. Hooky as hell. Finally rising Dutch talent Jamback has been turning heads with his energetic style, earning support from house music heavyweights like Toman, Chris Stussy and East End Dubs. ‘Is That OK?’ is a cheeky infectious slice of hot house pie!

Summer might be over in a literal sense, but there is no finer way to keep its vibes alive than with another scorching drop from Scruniversal, especially when it is focused on Brazilian sounds. This latest comes from a trip of talents and first up is 'Inspetores De Umidade,' a lithe and funky break that rolls on fat drums with organic percussion and Portuguese raps turning up the sunshine. On the flipside is 'Acido Brasil', another ass-wiggling delight with big horns, wiggly 303 details and a funk to spare. Pure heat on a very tasty 7".

The A Side features two notable figures in the electronic scene: Steve Bug and Denney, who team up with Mikey V creating an old-school house gem which has been going down a storm on dance floors. Next up is Collier’s rework of Joshwa ‘Bass Go Boom’, Collier comes in hot and heavy with booming low-ends and snaking bass grooves, infusing 'Bass Go Boom' with a quirky funk and a deep, dubby bounce!

On the flip and Vintage Culture & Vinter ‘High”, huge anthem finally gets a vinyl release. This hot as hell house anthem is an essential weapon! Finally Hot Since 82 ‘Sonedo’, dives deep into a lush bass-driven groove that envelops the senses, with rhythmic builds and playful percussion accents transporting listeners into an all-night hypnosis.

Toy Tonics ITALOMANIA Vol. 3 is a compilation dedicated to NEW ITALIAN DISCO. (Not Italo Disco.) 14 young contemporary Italian producers made new organic disco, indie dance, pop house tracks with Italian vocals. Everything on this compilation has been produced in 2024. Fresh dance music by Italian artists Paul Older, Riva Starr, Valentino Vivace, Sam Ruffillo & Fimiani, Kymono, Mille Punti, Mind Enterprises, Bruno Belissimo and legendary cosmic disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli + french italo hitmakers Dov'e Liana. The ITALOMANIA compilation was initiated by Toy Tonics boss Kapote. Italo-German producer, DJ, keyboarder and head of Toy Tonics and Gomma records. ITALOAMNIA is a MANIFESTO to show the status of Italian Disco of today. Kapote invited the most relevant Italian producers to make new tracks with Italian vocals and show different styles of modern Italian disco with Italian vocals.

Italian Disco is not Italo Disco. The last years the trashy pop music of the 1980’s called Italo Disco (with English lyrics) had a big revival. But this compilation is about something else: It’s about this Italian Disco. Because the popularity of good Italian pop music is rising all over the world. And Toy Tonics want to show a new way to combine Italianity with dance culture. Its funny that also in France, Swiss and Germany there are new artists singing in Italian. Part Two of our 'Back To The Old School' series has arrived in full effect. Once again, Mr "Love" Lee updates classic disco-rap cuts for today's dancefloors while preserving their original flavour and integrity. Kicking things off is Xanadu & Sweet Lady's Jamaican version of "Rappers Delight," where Dave refreshes the instantly recognisable percussion track into a captivating jazz-funk workout, perfectly complementing Sweet Lady's luscious rapping and somehow making it even more danceable than ever. Up next, Solo Sound "We Are The Crew (Called Solo Sound)" delivers a swampy, lo-down slice of cosmic funk primed to rock any block party. On the flip is an alternate Philly flavoured take on TJ Swann's 1981 jam "Get Fly." This time Dave Lee re-tracks the MFSB backbone, putting his remixing prowess fully on display and landing squarely in the dancefloor sweet spot. As a bonus, any wannabe disco rappers can hone their skills over the B2 Shepherds Delight (No Rapstrumental Mix).
