B.F. Trike was a power-trio from Indiana who evolved from garage band Hickory Wind. They consisted of Mike McGuyer on guitar, Alan Jones on bass and Bobby Strehl on drums.

This is their legendary, unissued at the time studio album from 1971.

First released by the Rockadelic label in 1989 and out of print for many years, here’s a long overdue official vinyl edition.

Psychedelic hard-rock of the highest order with acid-fuzz guitar and melodic vocals. A must for fans of the genre.

'In 1972, trumpeter Baikida Carroll and some of his colleagues from the Black Artists Group (more precisely saxophonist/flutist Oliver Lake, trombonist Joseph Bowie, drummer Charles "Bobo" Shaw and trumpeter Floyd LeFlore) took the advice of their friends in the Art Ensemble Of Chicago and left their native Missouri to come and discover the bright lights of Paris for themselves. The following year they would even get the chance to record their only album which would rapidly attain mythical status and a collector’s item: “In Paris, Aries 1973”.

Therefore, it was not surprising that they crossed paths with Jef Gilson in the capital. He was always on the lookout for new artists for his recently formed Palm label and had been active on many fronts in jazz since the end of the 50s. The French bandleader / pianist / composer / sound engineer had already recorded, in the preceding months other American musicians who would go on to have great careers: Byard Lancaster, Keno Speller, Clint Jackson III, Khan Jamal... Gilson therefore offered Baikida Carroll the chance to record his first album under his own name, which would be the 13th release on the label. Carroll logically asked Oliver Lake to join him. He also recruited Manuel Villaroel, a young Franco-Chilien pianist from the group Matchi-Oul, who had already released an album on Futura in 1971 and would release another on Palm in 1976. The group was completed with the addition of Brazilian percussionist Naná Vasconcelos, who had just released a well-received album on the Saravah label. They were ready to enter the studio for the 3rd, 4th and 5th June 1974.

The first side of the album is divided into two long tracks which send free jazz back to its long-lost African roots. The opener “Orange Fish Tears” indeed rolls out a jungle of percussion of all sorts and sizes -the whole group is involved- which weave and mix together reaching a point where all bearings are lost, lending a sense of wonder to the majestic entry of the brass and woodwinds, flying suddenly out from the undergrowth. “Forest Scorpion” (sic) is a real voodoo ceremony where a venomous percussive groove backs the fiery solos from keyboards and saxophone in a furious trance. A warning; after these two tracks listeners are physically and emotionally wiped out!

The other side is more introspective. Deliberately using dissonance and repetition, “Rue Roger” -the only composition by Oliver Lake- in a long dialogue between trumpet and saxophone, could almost remind us of Terry Riley in his favourite ballpark. “Porte D'Orléans”, the fourth and final track on the album, has the group back to their old tricks in a long hallucinatory jam which owes as much to the contemporary music of György Ligeti as to the most angst-ridden Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack music (remember the heavy chords which beat through “Planet of the Apes»).

With these two sides, and in under 45m, Baikida Carroll and his musicians show just what they can do, from cerebral to charnel without ever simplifying things. This is an essential album if you are a fan of free-wheeling avant-garde music from the Art Ensemble of Chicago to Sonic Youth and including Shabaka Hutchings and Rob Mazurek. For those with good taste, in other words.'

'Can I Go Again?', das Debütalbum von Benét (Benét Nutall) aus Richmond, VA, ist eine abwechslungsreiche Sammlung nachdenklicher, dicht gepackter Indie-Pop-, Rock- und Soul-Tracks, die ebenso emotional mitschwingen wie sie unmittelbar und ansteckend sind. Die Debüt-EP von Benét, "Game Over" (2021), war ein ehrlicher Versuch der Selbstreflexion durch elektronische Dance- und Disco-Atmosphären - die titelgebende Frage ihres Debütalbums dient als Neustart des Arcade-Spiels mit mehr Wissen, Reife und Sicherheit, während Benét sich zu organischerer Instrumentalbegleitung und raffiniertem Songwriting bewegt. Die überschwänglichen und scharfen Gitarrenriffs und die treibende Bassline von "Insensitive" heben Benéts Gesang an, wenn sie über Gefühle von Nervosität, Sehnsucht und die letztendliche Überwindung von beidem mit Selbstsicherheit singen. In "Overpowering" können Benét über einer sanften Bassline und einem stolpernden Beat ihre persönliche Entwicklung zur Schau stellen. Das Album ist das Ergebnis von etwa drei Jahren des Schreibens und Aufnehmens zu verschiedenen Zeiten mit verschiedenen Gruppen von Freunden und musikalischen Partnern - in Richmond, VA mit Jacob Grissom, Christian Lewis, Neal Perrine und John Trainum, in Philadelphia mit Kyle Pulley und Danny Murillo und in New York mit Carlos Truly. In "Can I go again?" geht es darum, sich Zeit zu nehmen und zu erkennen, bewusst zu wachsen und Freude und Nervosität selbstbewusst auszudrücken. Benét nutzt "Can I Go Again?" um ihren eigenen Platz inmitten inspirierender, verwirrender, schwieriger und schöner menschlicher Verbindungen zu verarbeiten und diese unvergesslichen, eingängigen, emotionalen Lieder zu präsentieren, in der Hoffnung, dass das Publikum zuhören und dasselbe tun kann.

Nachdem CARNIFEX seit über 18 Jahren als Band existiert, experimentieren sie weiterhin mit frischen Songarrangements und verleihen ihrem inhärenten Deathcore-Fundament einen einzigartigen Sinn für Atmosphäre. Als es an die Aufnahme ging, wurden diese Orchestrierungen vom Filmmusikkomponisten Spencer Creaghan zum Leben erweckt. „Wir haben ihm die Vorproduktion geschickt und dann hat er das Riff weggelassen, eine außerirdische Atmosphäre hinzugefügt und die Gitarren aufgewertet. Spencer ist ein wunderbarer Autor.“
Mit seinen Blastbeats, geschwärzten Riffs, schweren Breakdowns und epischen Orchesterarrangements ist es ein viszerales Erlebnis, wie es nur CARNIFEX liefern können.

Das neue DAMNATION'S HAMMER Album besticht durch unbarmherzigen Heavy Metal und dem für die Band typischen doomigen Groove. Die Band präsentiert sich hier deutlich experimentierfreudiger als auf dem Vorgängeralbum "Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres".
Erneut von Mark Mynett produziert, baut das Werk auf dem Fundament des Vorgängeralbums "Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres" auf.
Die Eröffnungssalven "Sutter Cane" und "Do Not Disturb The Watchmaker" sind ein Riff-geladenes Feuerwerk - ersteres fast chaotisch und mit einem kurzen Spoken-Word-Part von Aaron Stainthorpe von My Dying Bride! Dann setzt "Do Not Disturb The Watchmaker" mit seinem schlängelnden Groove ein, bevor es in einen thrashigen Refrain mündet.
Das Album hat immer noch die gewaltigen Riffs, für die DAMNATION'S HAMMER bekannt sind, aber "Into The Silent Nebula" ist abenteuerlicher ausgefallen als sein Vorgänger.
Das Gegenstück zum Titeltrack - einfach "The Silent Nebula" genannt - zum Beispiel, ist ein atmosphärisches, bluesiges Instrumentalstück; ruhig, aber dennoch mit einem bedrohlichen Charakter. Es schließt mit einer trägen, melodischen Basslinie, während Sakis von Rotting Christ aus dem Titeltrack des Albums zitiert.

Am 29. September 2023 erscheint mit „Portugal“ ein neues Album der Band „Die Zöllner“.


„Mama Unser“ ist die mittlerweile dritte Vorab-Single in Vinyl Version. Das akustische Erlebnis hat eine optische Entsprechung. Der renommierte Maler Jörg Menge konnte für das Artwork der nun vollendeten Vinyl-Trilogie gewonnen werden. Die auf jeweils 300 Stück limitierten Kunstwerke versprechen einen hohen Sammlerwert. Der Text von „Mama Unser“ stammt vom Poeten Henry-Martin Klemt und ist eine intensive Anbetung der weiblichen Göttlichkeit. „Die Zöllner“ kommen außergewöhnlich rauh daher, die Musik des Songs ist in einer Bandsession entstanden.


Der psychedelische Bläsersatz wurde von Trompeter David „Skip Reinhart und Saxophonist Frank Fritsch arrangiert. Auf der B-Seite der Single befindet sich der Titel „Neue Wege“, den Dirk Zöllner mit seinen Kindern Rubini (Sängerin und Musical-Darstellerin) und Egon (The Voice Kids Gewinner 2021) eingesungen hat. Eine deutsche Popnummer mit Hitpotential.

Bordello A Parigi is delighted to welcome back the triumvirate of Sergio Mesa (IAMNOTAROBOT), David Jornet (Strange2, AMPbEND) and vocalist Maia J. In 2020 the partnership, better known as Hypnotique, released the stunning 12” ‘La Pénombre’. Armed with four tracks of emotive synth-pop, the group returns with ‘Solitude’. When Italian Luca “Moplen” Locatelli asked High Fashion to feast his creativity on this one, they were rather sceptical. In fact, they preferred not. But how quick things can change! Moplen brought this nevertheless classic performance of Karen Young back to it’s basis, took as a tradition all tracks and stems apart, and reconstructed it into what it should have been back in 1982. The Flow was a psychedelic hard-rock power-trio formed in New York by Pete Fine, Monte Farber and Steve Starer.

It was the early 70s in NYC, the pre-glam/punk/new wave days, when Flow (who rehearsed next room to a band called Wicked Lester, later known as KISS) decided to start playing music without limits, developing their musical horizons. Their sound was based on hard-rock and heavy-fuzz guitars but adding psych / experimental touches.

In 1972 they self-released a private album, “The Flow’s Greatest Hits”, featuring their own songs. This is now one of the mega rarities and holy grails of the first psychedelic era.

First officially reissued by the Shadoks label in the early 2000s and out of print for many years, we present a new deluxe reissue.

Led by explosive guitar player Chris (later Christa) Bond, THUNDER and ROSES was a power-trio from Philly in the best tradition of Cream or the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

This is their sole album, originally released in 1969. A cult psychedelic hard-rock classic, including “White Lace and Strange”, famously covered by Nirvana.

Thunder and Roses (named after a story from The Astounding Science Fiction Anthology) started to take form when genius 18-years old guitar player Chris Bond and bassist Tom Schaffer met heavy drummer George Emme (previously of The Electric Power House). Rehearsing six days a week the trio gelled quick and soon they were playing memorable shows at venues like Electric Factory and the Trauma.

Recorded at Sigma Sound by Joe Tarcia, “King of the Black Sunrise” was released by United Artists in 1969. Dominated by Bond’s outstanding fuzz-wah guitar playing, the album featured seven original songs plus a storming cover of Hendrix’s “Red House”. Sadly, the record label took a wrong decision when refused to release the killer “White Lace and Strange” as a 45 to promote the album, choosing the mockery “Country Life” instead.

After Thunder & Roses split, guitar player and main songwriter Chris Bond had a successful career as producer, songwriter, arranger and session musician, working closely with Daryl Hall & John Oates as well as other top artists. Later in his life, Chris eventually transitioned from male to female and changed her name to Christa. She sadly passed away in 2019.

Es handelt sich um Bombinos erstes komplettes Album seit über fünf Jahren und folgt auf das 2018 erschienene Album 'Deran'. Die New York Times bezeichnete ihn damals als 'Sultan des Shreds'. Vice ging sogar noch einen Schritt weiter und verlieh ihm den Titel des 'besten Gitarristen der Welt'. Es folgte eine GRAMMY®-Nominierung. Die erste für einen Künstler aus Niger überhaupt. stories of historical individuals, from the vestals of
Ancient Rome to the art scenes of Berlin.
 ‘The Noise of a Firing Gun’ debuts a new direction
in songwriting and composition for the band.
Experimenting with new production elements,
Hallan shift their gaze towards synthesised sounds
of the 1980s whilst retaining their post-punk edge.

A Danish-Lebanese Afro-American who has learned Turkish and knows how to play the saz? Who entered the Anatolian Pop scene in Istanbul right in the heyday, the early 1970s? And who got so much musical credit that the renowned Turkish producer Nazmi Senel released a solo album with him in 1988, recorded in Istanbul and including musicians like Turkish percussion star Okay Temiz? Sounds pretty unlikely. Sometimes miracles happen and highly improbable music gets released. A person with a diverse heritage as Nyofu Tyson can be seen as a 'melting pot', as a 'synthesis'. Yet, he can be also seen as someone who is able to step out for new paths.
This is the case for TÜRK LOKUMU - TURKISH DELITE. Like nobody before, Tyson connects and opens up Anadolu Pop towards a whole range of styles: Synth-Pop, New Wave, Reggae, Hip Hop/Break, Latin, Disco Boogie… He shows us how vital, compatible and versatile one could think Anadolu Pop at the end of the 1980s. The compositions are basically all Türkü-s, traditional Anatolian folk songs, yet updated with a poly-cultural music practice, which involved a lot of the then current musical trends. So, this is Turkish folk music and it has at the same time all what you like about the late 1980s pop music: cold electronic drum sounds, crisp-flashy synths, crunchy bass - all in contrast with warm distorted saz tones, wooden Turkish wind instruments, and a disco-soul proven female choir. This is crazy music. This is a miracle. This is Anatolian-Synth.
