Jeffrey Lee Pierce and The Gun Club toured Europe in the fall/winter of 1983 between their classic second and third albums, Miami and The Birth, The Death, The Ghost, released in 1982 and 1984 respectively. This was a period of intense transformation for the band, both in terms of personnel and sound, as they moved from the blues-punk of the first two records to a more polished alternative/indie sound on their third long player. Featuring mostly songs from the first two albums as well as some rarities this live set from Florence in November of 1983 is a perfect distillation of the group. Raw, live, intense LA blues-punk from The Gun Club, released in a limited edition repress in pocket sleeve.

In 2010, when the American Marc Anthony Thompson, said Chocolate Genius Inc, released his fourth album Swansongs (and his first for the French label No Format), he announced at the same time that It will be the last, at least under this name.

Great loss to be missed: as surely as discreetly, Marc Anthony Thompson had imposed himself over the years and records as an indispensable soul singer, faithful to the music he listened to teenager (Al Green, Sam Cooke and all the giants Of the genre), but above all preserved from the trap and the ease of imitation, the retro revival. On form, this man with warm, subtle and often heartbreaking tone took all liberties, flirted with indie rock, embraced blues, folk and funk. After two albums under his baptismal name in the 80s, and three others as Chocolate Genius (Black Music in 1998, Godmusic in 2001, and Black Yankee Rock in 2005), the musician had signed with No Format And an esthetics that suit him well) his song of the swan.

This fifth album is a meticulous blend of underground soul, rock bricole, r'n'b low-fi, disarming folk of soft veiled. The twelve songs resemble what Chocolate Genius Inc has always done: that is, they resemble only him, and reflect the richness and variety of his inspiration. They hover and float between genres and references. Chocolate Genius Inc. plays all instruments, but it also plays with light, with emotions, with space-time, with flesh. Twelve songs, twelve balls in the skin, which give the thrill and cross the epidermis to touch to the heart, to the thousand. If this record is the beginning of the end for Chocolate Genius Inc., we already dream of hearing the sequel.

This may have been the first ever British punk rock album, (although Deviants fans may disagree) as crucial to the genre in the UK as Funhouse or Kick Out The Jams were in the States, but it also set the tone for most of the boot stomping terrace glam that followed (Slade, Mott and the Faces for starters). Alan Butler and Jesse Hector, on bass and guitar respectively, formed Crushed Butler in early 1969, with 17 year old drummer, actor and teen mag pin-up Darryl Read. Playing prestigious gigs with the likes of Atomic Rooster, Mott The Hoople, Osibisa and Kevin Ayers, Crushed Butler routinely blew the headlining act off the stage with their ferocious brand of hooligan rock. Recorded in 1970, released 21 years later in a handful of copies, reissued here in luxurious 180gr vinyl, with printed inner sleeve and extended liner notes. Limited edition of 500 copies.

Tunisia born Jacqueline did fairly well with her music over the past 50 years and here we witness her more than adequate start into the world of chanson and pop. Her intense brand of fiery late 60s beat refined with tinges of garage rock can be considered as an ear candy for 60s aficionados. Some rather lightweight tunes twang around you like flock of colourful butterflies and could easily have been a great success for the one or another star of the American West Coast pop scene. Melancholic ballads straddle into this chequered round dance and seize your heart. The waking call happens instantly with well placed gruff beat tunes you would not expect from such a tender and angelic young lady. It feels like an innocent girl slipping out of her cocoon and become a proud woman. In the next moment a passionate French chanson drags you back to the opposite side. From well-behaved to cheeky and even charming... And due to the very memorable and substantial compositions this jewel of late 60s pop music is a classic among fans of such greats as ROLLING STONES or THE SHOCKING BLUE.

First official reissue ever! Includes two bonus tracks and extended linernotes! Gatefold Sleeve. It's 1967 and Kali Bahlu felt that it was time to "simply speak the truth as it comes to me from the other side". Her believes that we're all tapped in a cosmic game, and her overall adorable wisdomly folly that she preserved into her old days, could lead to the assumption that she's been the grandmother of characters like Luna Lovegood. The record features four narrations performed by Kali with a bright and sometimes piercing voice in which she unveils her visions to the listener. What awaits you here ain't exactly the typical flower pop with colourful harmonies. This is an entirely different affair. She speaks, screams, laughs and sings with that lovely lunatic expression in her voice on a base of droning music that is a combination of classic Indian raga with sitar and tabla and a few other eruptive sound creating instruments a really mystifying atmosphere. The music and narrations drag you into a colourful world of strange plants and creatures. They tell you enchanted stories of Leprechauns, Fairys, Witches, Lemurian Kings, Angels, and "the Northwind (that) got stoned of marijuana....". Be invited and come along on a journey of Cosmic Remembrance!

This album has been quite an obscurity already by the time of its release. Recorded by 19 year old Mark Fry for an Italian sub label of RCA it presented a beautifully naive kind of psychedelic folk similar to what the INCREDIBLE STRING BAND laid down at the same time just a bit more straight forwarded. We saw originals in good condition go for about 1600 Euros already, therefore such a reissue is always welcome among fans of totally psyched out music, done by mostly acoustic instrumentation and vocals. Young Mark enchants his listeners with dreamy vocal melodies of utter beauty which create an outmost peaceful atmosphere. The picturesque tunes take you onto a trip out to the English countryside on a gentle and warm spring morning and into a fairytale world. You might get lost within this colorful dream and not be willing to return to grey reality anymore but this music indeed burns on as the flame of love within your heart. The direction despite all psychedelic elements is definitely determined by British folk music of the 60's and 70's. One charmingly odd aspect of the album is that the title track has been split up over the whole album as short sections flanking the longer tunes. I cannot recall anybody else ever doing that, so this is making this nifty little record a unique effort. If you are a fan of PERRY LEOPOLD or the above mentioned INCREDIBLE STRING BAND this record will fulfill your wildest dreams but will also please those into STEELEYE SPAN, WOODS BAND or PENTANGLE. Mark Fry plays his acid folk from the bottom of his soul without thinking about satisfying the demands of the mainstream audience. This is a must have for all fans of acid folk from the late 60s to the early 70s era. This music is intriguing, keen and absolutely one of a kind with a mood changing from rainy days to sunny mornings out in the meadows.

Recorded live in Tokyo in 1986, this limited edition release captures the enigmatic Nico towards the end of her life, which was cut short tragically in Ibiza in 1988. Featuring a backing band that includes synthesizer, conga drums, and more, this dark, smoky concert feels like proto-cold-wave and though 30+ years old could easily fit into the indie zeitgeist of today. With a set list that spans the whole of her career going all the way back to her beginnings in the Warhol Factory, this live set show that Nico, though unfortunately near the twilight of her life, was nowhere near the twilight of her talent. An amazing live set on hand numbered limited edition splatter vinyl LP.

RED ALERT were a British punk/oi!-band, formed in Sunderland, England, in May 1979. The quartet recorded three studio albums and appeared on numerous compilations, including the notorious Punk And Disorderly. This is their second and best record, and a must for the fans. Along with THE BUSINESS and COCK SPARRER, RED ALERT started it all.

Roger McGunn, live at Islip Speedway, New York, July 7th 1974

The Byrds split for good in 1973, following which Roger McGuinn embarked on a fascinating solo career. Recorded in the summer of 1974 for broadcast by WLIR-FM, this superb live set finds him tackling material from his debut solo album and forthcoming Peace On You set, as well as classics by the Byrds, Bob Dylan and others. It's presented here with background notes and images.

Sammy Hagar, Austin Texas '77, April 1977 for the Rock Around The World Radio Show

Known in the industry as the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar had arrived in 1977 with two solo albums under his belt having enjoyed previous notoriety with Montrose. The 'blue collar' champion would also enjoy success with anthemic rockers such as Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy, I Can't Drive 55, Heavy Metal and There's Only One Way To Rock. Riding high on the success of his 1976 debut album Nine On A Ten Scale, both the audience and listeners are treated to a set that combines highlights from his debut and a glimpse of his latest 'Red Album'.
The hard rock brand of Sammy Hagar has been adopted by many of his contemporaries such as Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses since his 1976 debut and this 1977 performance in Austin, Texas shows just how much respect Hagar commands.
It's live and alive and stands as one of his greatest performances in his post-Montrose, pre-Van Halen period.

Brown Sabbath Vol. II cranks up the level, rocking harder than the original with a brew of ballistic horns, pummeling guitar-riffs underscored by a funky, driving rhyhm section. Since the band seldomly performes live, this may very well be your best chance to experience what the band are capable of at their best! One show is recorded at avantgarde institution extraordinaire Jazzhouse, while the other captures the sounds of legendary underground venue Dragens Hule in a warm summer night of 2013, where the band played in front of a small, ecstatic crowd until the wee hours. Both shows were recorded multitrack with an A-grade selection of mics and mixed and mastered by Jonas Munk. During these three discs Causa Sui aren't merely running through classic cuts from the catalogue. Each track is explored, reinterpreted and given new life - often straying far away from its original roots with a fervent energy. One minute the band is bluesy and heavy, the next they're repetitive and blissed-out or venturing into a cacophony of Albert Ayler-like sax bursts, free-form electronics and feedback. Swedish saxophone player Johan Riedenlow joins both shows and Papir-guitar player Nicklas Sørensen occasionally adds his magic to the Dragens Hule set - including a towering 13-minute version of Eternal Flow, that seems to channel the energy of mid-1970s Popol Vuh, as well as a breezy cover version of Agitation Free's 'First Communication'. 'Ju-Ju Blues' from the Jazzhouse set is Causa Sui at their most fuzzed out and Hendrixian, reaching new improvisational heights, whereas 'Dawn Passage' feels like an obvious fusion of Tame Impala and Allman Brothers. On the Dragens Hule sets the band goes all the way out! 'Portixeddu / Tropic Of Capricorn' turns Bitches Brew-era Miles Davis into a crazed sludge-fest, and fan-favourites 'El Paraiso' and Red Valley' appear here in their ultimate versions. To cap things off the band delivers a 17-minute exclusive tribute to John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme' featuring both Johan Riedenlow and Nicklas Sørensen.

"No Problemo" is Jonny Teardrop's first physical album release. Inspired by Native American peyote songs, using his Jaguar as a bass, drum samples from obscure Japanese crust punk songs, Jonny Teardrop charges through 13 brief songs snapping audible polaroids and conjuring fragments of memories. A short movie made of 13 scenes, written by himself and directed by Louis Vignat will be presented alongside the album. The 13 videos will be your introduction to Jonny's weird and complex universe; a door that won't be easily closed once opened.

The enigmatic Tennessee-raised, Turin-based Yves Tumor presents a poignant new album, recorded between Miami, Leipzig, Los Angeles and Berlin over the past three years. Evolved from a diverse and prolific creative history under an expansive plethora of covert aliases via various forward-thinking labels, 'Yves Tumor' emerges as his most personal and matured incarnation to date.
With involvement across various artistic outlets expanding to fashion such as a visceral live performance for LA's Hood By Air earlier this year, the global artist has built a distinctly bold personal aesthetic both musically and visually as a performer.
Painstakingly written from pieces developed upon since 2013, the new record, titled 'Serpent Music', was initially composed as a soul record - based around delicate and emotive songwriting in various forms. It was a highly difficult project to undertake
on both a creative and personal level, weaving thematic links through paranoia, social anxiety, and missing loved ones. "The songs come from a much more emotional and very vulnerable place... They're very close to me and I've been cautious of how I would eventually present them to the world." he explains.
The album spans sonically diverse and richly-textured pieces, formed from live, organic instruments, samples and various field recordings. Dreamlike lo-fi psychedelia sits alongside broken electronic experimentations, ambient compositions between abrasive noise offer insight into a haunting otherworld. From melodic choral vocals and soaring synths, to screeching guitar riffs, dramatic spoken word samples and live drumming,
'Serpent Music' evidently moves through a strange and intriguing personal journey.

When squirming black mold in a dingy Bayshore, CA, warehouse became sentient, creaked and took humanoid form it created Blank Square and their singularly odd-punk debut, Animal I — sounding like the weirder end of Flesheaters but with a sterility that can only be contemporarily compared to Total Control's Aussie hardcore no-wave and then with a pinch of what made DNA and Mars amazing.

This album is captured with plenty of concrete and sheet metal kept in the mix and a highlight towards dissonant syncopations, as if it was recorded in a empty room minus one chair and definitely down a flight of wet, cement stairs. Featuring saxophone with a mild but nauseating-at-times rippling slap delay, the band cruises on a rhythm section that sounds like the they've got another house show to play tonight after this one. Rectangular in all the right places, it's uncomfortable, like sleeping in a car. For listeners who love art in their sax punk, reaching waaaay back into California's punk history (SST would've undoubtedly dug this). There you go, weirdos.

'Vigilant' is een album dat aait en bijt en niet geheel toevallig tegelijkertijd. Dat Stijn Meuris in dezelfde periode op tour gaat met een eigen eindejaarsconférence die 'Tirade' heet, is evenmin een toeval, gezien de gelijklopende thematiek. The first release of 2016 on the newly relaunched Dance To The Radio label will be 'Lose Control' the new single from platinum-selling Leeds band The Pigeon Detectives, ahead of their new album 'Broken Glances' out in February 2017. A sold-out UK tour preceded the release of the single which represents a new direction for the band having made the record with Leeds's critically acclaimed producer Richard Formby (Wild Beasts / Ghostpoet / I like Trains).

Gulp are a Cardiff-based, garage space-pop band fronted by Guto Pryce (Super Furry Animals) & Lindsey Leven. Today they're sharing their new single 'Search For Your Love', which is out now via Tim Burgess' label O Genesis. Offering some insight into the new single, singer Lindsey Leven went on to say the following about 'Search For Your Love': I get really vivid dreams and often wake up with tunes or stories in my head and lyrically this is one of those - it's a timeless love story really, but nods towards an eager search for love and empathy in an increasingly surreal and chaotic world.'
Originally from Scotland, vocalist Lindsey moved to Cardiff to where she met Guto Pryce at a Christmas psych party- a joining of kindred spirits in a city with an ever-evolving arts scene. It was there that the foundations of Gulp came to be as the two joined forces to create this musical venture, the band name coming from a play on words of combining both of their initials. Gulp make warm, fuzzy, luscious pop by combining ethereal sounds of both acoustic and electric drums and synths. Their music is like a road trip, the landscape and events along the way, filmic scenes and melodies - from the sun-squinting, flickering saturation and lens flare of the Californian desert, to the gloamin of rural Scottish and Welsh homescapes. The pair are joined by permanent member Gid Goundrey on guitar and various friends on drums including Stuart Kidd (Euros Child/Norman Blake), Kliph Scurlock (Flaming Lips/ Gruff Rhys), Gwion Lleweyln (Meilyr Jones) & others. Recorded in the summer of 2016 on a farm in mid Wales, 'Search For Your Love' follows on from the band's last album release 'Season Sun' in 2014, which received praise from The Guardian, The Quietus, NME & a variety of other publications. The band brought the recordings home to construct before finishing with Luke Abbott in Norwich in October 2016. It's a process that involves chipping and carving away until they feel the song works. Having previously toured with Django Django and playing festival shows at the likes of Glastonbury, Green Man, The Great Escape & End of the Road (to name a few), Gulp are set to announce some more UK dates soon.

What happens when R. Stevie Moore and Jason Falkner get together to record, arrange, and mix R. Stevie's songs We get to hear an audacious realization of the tracks full potential in an epic collaboration no one saw coming. Moore and Falkner burst through your door with "I H8 Ppl" and take you on a journey through rock, pop, and experimental textures. Anchors such as "Play My Self Some Music" and "Sincero Amore," keep the effort focused, while guitar-only interludes and spoken word pieces push boundaries. Before they met up, both artists had long and storied careers, but their paths to cult status take completely opposite routes. Moore is widely considered to be the godfather of the DIY recording aesthetic. Dubbed a 'lo-fi legend' by the New York Times, he started his career in the late 60's, gaining widespread underground recognition during the 70's punk explosion. Anticipating the viral internet era, Moore made innumerable cheap but brilliant videos. Luckily, many of them eventually found their way to YouTube where a whole new generation of fans discovered his work including the likes of MGMT, Mac DeMarco, The Vaccines and collaborator Ariel Pink.Falkner was involved in various major label deals as a group member and solo artist. He started with Paisley Underground pioneers The Three O Clock, joined supergroups Jellyfish with Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning, and the Grays with Jon Brion, finally scoring a solo deal with Elektra. He's gone on to release numerous solo records and has worked with a wide range of artists, including Beck, Air, Brendan Benson and Paul McCartney.

Recorded by Jason Falkner at his Rhetoric Studio in Hollywood with the majority of songs composed by Moore, with one by Falkner, one co-written by the pair, one co-written by Roger Ferguson. There's a wonderful rendition of Huey Smith & The Clowns "Don't You Just Know It."

A relentless vinyl collector and a fervent connoisseur of Anglo-American culture, the founding painter of the Figuration Libre movement (with Di Rosa, Blanchart and Boisrond) in the early 80's, Robert Combas has always connected his art with rock music. The two are always intertwined and fuel his inspiration. During his exhibition Sans Filet, Robert Combas made an essential encounter: the artist and video maker Lucas Mancione, also from the town of Sete, and decided to make the leap. Together, at the start of the decade, they created the band Les Sans Pattes. Notre Renaissance is a dazzling discharge, a geyser of cold and searing emotions, a conscious search for a unique and extreme experience. The tension in each track is palpable, as constant as it is pregnant. This band is full of character. Sometimes electronic, often a bit punk, always particularly rock'n'roll. Raw and physical tracks, compact and heady. Les Sans Pattes always lean towards psychedelics and repetition.
