Raderkraft is a project by Willem Stinissen , a young producer/musician from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
His music is best described as electro minimal synthwave. WeMe and Wil-Ru Records team up to bring you a limited edition vinyl release of Repeated Viewing's (Glasgow native Alan Sinclair) first original film music score for Irish director Daire McNab's modern day neo-giallo murder mystery movie: The Three Sisters. Both the film and the soundtrack are inspired by the golden age of Italian horror cinema, the Giallo genre, which has been making a savage comeback in recent years in both music and movie making. Laden with heavy guitars riffs, stabbing synthesizers, oppressive beats and ominous atmospheres, The Three Sisters score maintains a purist aesthetic, remaining true to the sounds of the original horror scores of the 70s and 80s. The results are a fresh, modern take on a classic sound in the spirit of the original horror film scores perfected by musicians such as Goblin, Fabio Frizzi, Libra, Stevio Cipriani, Carlo Maria Cordio and John Carpenter. This ten track LP is limited to 300 copies and features original cover art by Eric Adrian Lee.

A totally obscure and totally shredding private hard-psych album from 1973, from Iceland of all places! Nearly impossible to find on original LP, Woops ranges from funky hard-psych to space-rock, to the amazing doom-psych jam, "Himalaya". Featuring members of another Icelandic masterpiece - Icecross' 1973 self-titled LP - Andrew's lone LP has to be one of the only examples of a private press psych record from Iceland, and it is certainly one of the finest 70s rock LPs on any label from Iceland. Essential to all fans of hard-psych, and finally available again on vinyl!

Originally only released on CD in 2003, a year after their mind blowing album Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (MOVLP781), Train Of Thought found Dream Theater back on the heavier and straight forward side of Prog Metal.

Inspired by the audience response to Dream Theater's heavier songs while on tour Portnoy said that they wanted Train of Thought to be a "balls to the wall" album with heavier, darker riffing, exposing them to a number of new metal fans.

The album was written in three weeks. It was engineered by Doug Oberkircher and mixed by Kevin Shirley. Most of the album was played in concert for the Live At Budokan release.

From the album opener "As I Am" to the closer "In The Name Of God", this essential Dream Theater album thrusts forward like an unstoppable freight train. As Thom Jurek on Allmusic summarizes: 'This is hard, heavy progressive metal at its very best lyrically and musically.'

In 2015 Hey Colossus released two albums on Rocket Recordings, In Black and Gold in February and Radio Static High in October. Dedicated to Uri Klangers is a look back. It's best summed up by the 3000 words that can be found on the inner sleeve of the record, the tale begins: "The 2xLP comp that's in your hands now was initially released on cassette by S.O.U.L for our 10th anniversary show, September 2013, about 50 tapes were made and sold on the night. We thought a BEST OF would be hilarious. We were average at that show and I'm being generous. I'd give us 5.5/10. A shame. Hacker Farm and Helm also played. It was at The Sebright Arms in London, somewhere out East....."

The cassette sat in the MIE car for three years, soundtracking journeys back and forth across the country. When a new car was bought, criminally minus a tape deck, the decision was made to put it on vinyl.

Included are one or two tunes from all the HC albums released 2003-2013, it also includes the Witchfinder General Hospital track (only 100 pressed on 12"). All vinyl versions of the albums from this era are long gone. The discography is a bit of a mess now, the band doesn't fully know and the Discogs site is not much help - godspeed anyone trying to buy all the back cat.

Originally released in 1971 as a private pressing, Pops de Vanguardia' by JODI contains tracks mostly written and recorded in 1969 (with some dating back to 1966) by brothers Joern and Dirk Wenger at their homemade Jodi Experimental Studio' in Paraguay.

Joern and Dirk, born in Paraguay but of German origin, started playing in beat / psychedelic band The Rabbits, who released a very rare EP in 1969. After the group split, Joern and Dirk travelled to Germany, were they studied arts and received musical lessons from none other than Stockhausen. The two brothers had built their own homemade studio and they spent hours and hours recording songs and experimenting to create their own sound effects (echo, reverb, etc). They called their music Spontaneous Pop'.

Pops De Vanguardia' was recorded at their own rudimentary studio with two tape recorders. Joern plays guitar, organ and he was the lead vocalist, while Dirk plays drums and percussions. From ultra-catchy garage-pop to killer instrumental Farfisa numbers and proto-psychedelic sounds. JODI could be seen as precursors of the indie-pop and lo-fi garage which would appear some decades later.

Cowboy in Sweden, the soundtrack to the 1970 cult classic film of the same name, is quite possibly the purest distillation of the Hazlewood sound, lush melancholy country pop with a pinch of humor
Lee Hazlewood spent a good part of the late 1960s traveling the globe, cutting records and inking business deals. A string of hits with Nancy Sinatra enabled Lee to build a mini media empire Lee Hazlewood Industries and afforded him nearly unlimited resources...for a time. By the end of the decade LHI Records had burned piles of cash, gone through a half dozen distributors and failed to achieve the kind of chart success Boots" had promised.

Fortunately for Lee there was a land where he was still on the top of the charts, a place where women flowed like Brannvin...Sweden was calling.

While on an LHI promotional tour in Stockholm, Lee crossed paths with Swedish director Torbjörn Axelman. I met Lee through my script girl, in Stockholm in 1969,' remembers Axelman. "We noticed we had very many similarities, interests, and the same backgrounds. It led to many productions during our 38 years of close partnership and friendship.' The partnership showed Lee the way forward and allowed him an easy exit strategy from the LHI house of cards that was crumbling in Los Angeles.

Light In The Attic records continues its Lee Hazlewood series with this expanded reissue of Cowboy in Sweden. Released as the last LHI LP, Cowboy in Sweden was a soundtrack to the 1970 cult classic film of the same name starring Lee Hazlewood. The film was a surreal psychedelic account of Lee's journey to his new homeland, while the soundtrack was a perfect compilation of Hazlewood's strongest songs recorded over a prolific globe trotting three year period. The production scope of the album was the most ambitious of his career, recorded in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Stockholm with a slew of talented session musicians, producers and arrangers.

Cowboy in Sweden is quite possibly the purest distillation of the Hazlewood sound, lush melancholy country pop with a pinch of humor ("Pray Them Bars Away"), a dash of bummer ("Cold Hard Times'), some beautiful ladies to sing with ( Leather & Lace' & Hey Cowboy') and even a couple anti-war protest songs to be topical ("No Train to Stockholm' & For A Day Like Today'). The David Bitter Sweet Symphony' Whitaker arranged orchestral pop of What's More I Don't Need Her' and the stone cold Hazlewood classic The Night Before' cement the album as Lee's peak on LHI records and ironically the label's swan song.

Breezy Sunshine-Pop / Soft-Rock / Psych-Pop from California, 1970, featuring Peter Clark a.k.a Chet DeMilo.

In 1969 Chet Demilo was appearing at Donkin's Inn, Marina Del Rey, where he met Arnie Marcus and Ray Hames, who together were to become part of an incredible slice of history. Donkin's became the hottest and most famous destination in Southern California for the next seven years, and Chet was the magnet that started the new singles scene in Los Angeles with Marina Del Rey as ground zero.

Arnie sat in on bongos with Chet from time to time, and Ray, who was managing an apartment complex that housed 200 flight attendants, just happened to have a unit available!! Chet moved in, and he and Ray started working on songs together. Chet suggested forming a vocal group with Arnie and SST was born. For three months they practiced the intricate vocal harmonies and in early 1970 cut the album, "Soft Soul Transition". A thousand records were pressed, and an album release party was held at Donkins where SST gave their one and only performance that night!

There was interest in the project at Burt Bacharach's Blue Seas Music, but it was not to be and SST faded away...until more than 20 years later when the SST album was discovered by a new generation of DJs and collectors looking for cool and groovy sounds from the 60s-70s.

Skuggflock (Shadowpack) is the third album from Stilla and presents a highly interested blend between 90's Black Metal and 70´s prog-rock ala Goblin. Members of Stilla also perform in Bergraven, Armagedda, Deranged and Sorgeldom.

After two years of silence Stilla now slightly moves out from the shadows and once again we get the opportunity to experience the very typical rugged Stilla sound we first heard on their 2013 album Till stilla falla. Here blended with inspiration and emotions not far away from what the prog-rockers Goblin achieved with D. Argentoin the 70's. Stilla has always created their own unique style of Scandinavian Black Metal where the sound more then seldom travels into the nostalgic 90's mid era. And Skuggflock is definitely not an exception.

Hex Enduction Hour was originally conceptualized as the death knell for The Fall. Beleaguered by career uncertainty and guided by vague premonitions of collapse, Mark E. Smith declared that one full hour was needed to thoroughly and perhaps finally state his case with The Fall. This framework resulted in a true classic of the post-punk era and an album that gave The Fall their first taste of album chart success, thankfully removing surrender from the equation.

Recorded in haste in both Iceland and England in late 1981, the performances on Hex Enduction Hour are among the band's most urgent and distinctive. The album begins with the severe provocation of "The Classical" and the terse punk of "Jawbone And The Air-Rifle," but it's "Hip Priest" that stands out as Smith's calling-card theme, a song that would become inextricable from his character (or perception thereof) in the years that followed. The elongated "And This Day" fittingly positions the band as spell-casters, closing the hour by filling every conceivable bit of space with wild, primitive percussion and whimsical electric piano.

Superior Viaduct's edition is the first time that Hex Enduction Hour has been available on vinyl in the USA since its initial release in 1982. Liner notes by Brian Turner.

On Room To Live, The Fall take the hurried, all-or-nothing approach of their preceding Kamera Records releases to extreme ends. Forged via Mark E. Smith's continual disassembling of players and focus on previously unrehearsed material, the album collects The Fall's most experimental and improvisational recordings. As proclaimed on the album cover, "Undilutable Slang Truth!" would be revealed throughout Room To Live.

With the album's comparatively lo-fi production and always-teetering performances, the title track comes closest to a stab at pop (by The Fall's standards), built on fantastically bent saloon swaying under one of Smith's by-now characteristic dressing-downs of square life. "Detective Instinct" is an unshakeable creeper, as languid and ominous as the band would get during the Marc Riley years. "Marquis Cha Cha" is a post-punk rhumba, beginning with fury and then easing into something only The Fall could conjure.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band's debut album, the Grateful Dead are releasing a 2CD deluxe set and a limited edition vinyl picture disc, a first for the Grateful Dead. The vinyl picture disc will feature the newly remastered audio from the original tapes by David Glasser.

The band recorded and mixed The Grateful Dead' in five days before releasing it in March 1967. It captures the group's early sound with a mix of electrified jug band stomps ( Sitting On Top of the World'), Chicago blues ( Good Morning Little School Girl'), crazed modal improv ( Viola Lee Blues'), and Dylan-y put-downs ( Cream Puff War').

Hailing from North Somerset in the UK, Blueneck have been at forefront of the European underground music scene since forming in 2000. They've released five critically-acclaimed albums, toured extensively with acts like Cult of Luna and Mono and featured in series of high profile European festivals including a triumphant midnight set at Glastonbury 2014. The band have also soundtracked a number of independent films and had their work featured on NBC, HBO and SyFy channels. Typically obsessive, fastidious and reclusive in their approach to recording (Blueneck's last album, 2014's epic "King Nine", was almost 4 years in the making) the band's forthcoming long-player "The Outpost" was written and recorded over an uncharacteristically short 18 months.

This shortened gestation period was not the only respect in which "THE OUTPOST" is markedly different to Blueneck's previous recording experience and output (2006's "Scars Of The Midwest", 2009's "The Fallen Host", 2011's "Repetitions", 2012's vocal-free soundtrack album "Epilogue", 2014's "King Nine". Originally planned as a wholly separate touring electronica side-project for singer-songwriter Duncan Attwood and guitarist Rich Sadler, the duo began to find the prospect of deploying the full Blueneck sonic arsenal - along with the skills of long-term producer collaborator Matt Sampson and bass-player Ben Paget - all too irresistible. Once the decision had been made to fold the side-project back under the Blueneck banner, the fact that home recordings were already well-advanced made for a refreshingly fluid, fast (for Blueneck) and - dare we say - fun final 12 months of studio time.

The resulting LP retains the melodic songcraft of Blueneck's best work, as well as Attwood's inimitable seductive, haunting vocals. However "THE OUTPOST" eschews the southern-gothic sepia of "King Nine" in exchange for a maxed-out colour contrast of electronic beats, vibrant vintage synths and guitars that are by turns ballsy, soaring and delicately intricate. From the pulsing Archive-esque Prog whiplash of 'From Beyond' to the plaintive Sparklehorse meets Boards of Canada electro-pop of 'Ghosts' (Blueneck's most accessible moment to date), and from the windswept Earth-esque Americana of 'The White Ship' to the Talk Talk covering John Carpenter expanse of 'Hive', Blueneck have created one of their most passionate, propulsive and progressive recordings to date.

As with "King Nine", Blueneck are employing the artistry of acclaimed artist and filmmaker Lasse Hoile (who previously worked with Anathema, Porcupine Tree and Opeth). Lasse's album art - along with forthcoming music videos - feature a neon-tinted Lovecraftian 80's menace in a small town American heartland, reminiscent of Netflix show 'Stranger Things', recent indie-horror movie 'It Follows' and John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy.

London based Sydneysiders Tom Crandles and Tim Jenkins began Au.Ra after meeting at university, then they started recording and writing tracks drowned in sweet, reverb goodness with a mellow voice. Their long-acclaimed single "Morning" dropped on the Art Is Hard Records Postcard Club, making impossible the art of writing about them avoiding the comparisons to the ones like Tame Impala and Beach Fossils.


'Spare The Thought', beginning with a pulsating rhythm and bending guitars which screech like sirens, it expands into a surging bass line with the reverb heavy melodies and feedback carrying Tom Crandles airy vocals. 'Spare The Thought' is the latest glimpse of a duo who fleetingly showcase their hallmark sound before flying off into the distance. And you may recognise 'Sun', a reverb-drenched slice of goodness - all melodic guitar licks and fleeting vocals, as the bands online debut.

New York's DNA have had a massive effect on alternative / indie rock around the world, despite the trio never releasing a full-length studio album during their four year tenure (1978-82). Various groups citing them as an influence have included Sonic Youth, Boredoms, Big Black and Blonde Redhead (the latter taking their name from DNA's most-famous song). While the band's explosive live performances captivated audiences, extant recordings captured DNA's dynamic sound and savage economy in songwriting.

Originally released in 1981, A Taste Of DNA remains a primary source for No Wave archaeologists. Singer/guitarist Arto Lindsay and drummer Ikue Mori are joined by bassist and Pere Ubu founding-member Tim Wright. Across the EP's six anti-epic tracks, the band charges forward with jagged guitars and dislocated grooves, while Lindsay's guttural screams create a thoroughly personal semantics.

As Marc Masters writes in the liner notes, "A Taste Of DNA has a kind of sum-of-parts insanity, wherein every musical element sounds conventionally off, like puzzle pieces purposefully jammed together at the wrong ends."

This first-time vinyl reissue is recommended for fans of The Contortions' Buy and Red Crayola's The Parable Of Arable Land.

The CD includes one unreleased studio which is precisely the song that gives the title to the entire job Papè Satan aleppe while other songs are recorded live during the concert last May at The Garden Club of Lugagnano (Verona). The set list was chosen from the entire repertoire run that lasted over two hours It is preferred to insert many excerpts from Palepolitana and some of the historical repertoire Osanna as L'Uomo, Taka Boom, Oro Caldo (Fuje 'a chistu paese) plus some covers that are a tribute and a love quote to travel mates world progressive rock, such as Banco, PFM, Area, Nomadi, Equipe 84, Alan Sorrenti but especially to those who already have flown away like Francesco di Giacomo, Rodolfo Maltese, Demetrio Stratos and Augusto Daolio and friend always Pino Daniele. The same Pape Satan aleppe is a tribute to Umberto Eco. The result was recorded in multitrack and managed a great job of post-production, editing and mixing by Alfonso La Verghetta that has really outdone in addressing this daunting task. The choice of The Garden Club was made because it has become a traditional destination for Osanna, where they always have a great reception and has for years been a landmark of many fans of northern Italy. The Track Pape Satan aleppe starts with a prologue on an ambient atmosphere in which Lino Vairetti reads the first six verses of the seventh canto of Dante's hell. Then he gets to the heart of the song with a very rock rhythm (the Led Zeppelin) and develops a very dynamic choral song and full of rhythmic changes between odd and even. The text is all in Naples where he likened the circle of the damned and sinners of Dante, the urbanization of the metropolitan cities where sinners are the politicians and criminals. E 'was used as a quote, a secular popular nursery rhyme (very popular in Naples) There is also a quote from Goethe that during his stay in Naples, Napoli said he was "a paradise inhabited by devils" ....

Careening melodies soar through space-detritus electronics on the strikingly original 'Roger,' which evokes the early solo work of Brian Eno, but the deranged art-rock closing track '(No More) Mr. Nice Guys' is the unequivocal classic of Sparks' early career and a staple of the band's live set ever since.

Rundgren's restrained production wisely sets the Mael brothers at the fore of Sparks. With just subtly treated cymbal flourishes keeping the pace, album opener 'Wonder Girl' is pared down and mixed to showcase two things: Ron's twinkling piano trill and Russell's fluttering high-register. As Rundgren perceived, and a multi-decade career confirms since, their fraternal chemistry is a consummate force.

From the same misty mountaintop tape spool as August's A Weird Exits, Thee Oh Sees bring the companion album An Odd Entrances. Delving more towards the contemplative than the face-skinning aspects of its predecessor, this sister album is a cosmic exercise en plein aire with John Dwyer and company double-drum shuffling, lounging with cellos, following a flute around the groove, and spooling a few Grimm-dark lullabies along the way. Lurking in the grass are a snake or two, like the celestial facing instrumental buzz of Unwrap The Fiend Pt. 1.'... But for the most part this is a relatively hushed affair, a morning rather than evening listen. The band plans on donating half their profits from the first pressing to Elizabeth House, a local charity in Pasadena that specifically helps homeless women with children get back on their feet.
