Sulfur Giant is a psychedelic Stoner Blues band from Portugal consisting of Marco Lima (guitar), Marco Mourão (guitar), José Roda (bass) and Ricardo Pereira (drums). The band was founded in April 2014. Their first EP "Towards the Light", recorded at HertzControl Studio, was released in August 2014. The same year Sulfur Giant played several shows including the Sonic Blast Moledo and Vilar de Mouros Festivals.

In 2015 the band spent their time playing in Portugal and Spain and preparing their debut album "Beyond the Hollow Mountain'. Sulfur Giant's debut makes its chief impression with the four-pieces instrumental chemistry which brings about an easy flow within and between the eight tracks. To celebrate the release of their first full length album the four guys will be on tour in November and December.

Datashock from Saarlouis, a collective of multi-instrumentalists. A group of teenagers from Padova playing together since 1970 (initially under the name Eneide Pop), Eneide had the big chance when, after some dates supporting Van der Graaf Generator, they were offered a recording deal with the legendary Trident label. An album was scheduled for release and recorded in late 1972, but was never issued.

The LP was only released in the first nineties both on vinyl and CD in a limited pressing and has been out of print for many years now. It's a very good album, with ten short songs with little instrumental parts but competent playing, especially when the solo instruments (especially organ, guitar and flute) are given a leading role, like in the longest track on the album, "Non voglio catene", or "Ecce omo" and the instrumental "Oppressione e disperazione".

Recorded on May 25th 1978, the show here presented was the real penultimate one for Goblin in one of their most classic line-ups: Massimo Morante (guitar, vocals), Claudio Simonetti (keyboards), Fabio Pignatelli (bass guitar), Agostino Marangolo (drums), with guest musician Antonio Marangolo on saxophone. Maurizio Guarini, a second keyboard player who joined the band to play in "Roller" (1976), had already left the group in late '76, during the recording sessions for "Suspiria", when Goblin were almost completely fed up with playing live in almost always unadequate places - mostly discoteques and dancing clubs.

After having played a single show in the RAI studios in Turin in 1977 and another one at an exclusive Cinevox Record event in the following year, Goblin were invited to participate to the MIMS (Mercato Internazionale Musica e Spettacolo - International Music and Entertainment Market) in Sanremo, a 7-day happening especially made for musicians and music businessmen. The band's show consists of the "Profondo Rosso / Deep Red" main theme, two tracks from "Roller" ("Aquaman" and "Snip Snap") and five from "Il Fantastico Viaggio dei Bagarozzo Mark", an Italian-sung LP (very uncommon for a band well known for their instrumental soundtrack efforts) that had just been released at the time.

The name Altered Images referred to the sleeve design on the Buzzcocks singles notably 'Promises'. The sleeve artwork for much of the bands early releases was in this almost comic bookesque style, bold blocks of colours and graphics.



Radio 1's John Peel was a huge fan, he was the barometer of taste at the time and to many youngsters growing up, what John Peel played mattered. The list is endless of bands who's first play on National Radio was on the John Peel Show, he was that influential, his dry wit and charm as much his appeal as the music he played. His support for the band led to a recording deal with Epic.



With Clare Grogan on vocals, Gerard McInutly and Tony McDaid on guitars, Michael Anderson on drums and John McElhone on bass guitar the band had little success with their first two singles 'Dead Pop Stars' and 'A Days Wait'. Much to do with timing as anything as 'Dead Pop Stars' as song sung from the point of view of a has-been pop star, the single was released shortly after John Lennon's death so gained little media attention.



'Happy Birthday' was a huge hit, charting No2 for three weeks in the UK charts in October 1981 and earned the band the NME 'Best New Group' and Smash Hits 'Best Newcomer Award' that year.

Petrels returns with a thunderous new album, Flailing Tomb. Taking the exhilaratingly huge sonic expanse that Petrels has become known for and pushing it further still, Flailing Tomb draws on a breathtaking sonic palette of influences and instrumentation to craft perhaps the strongest Petrels release to date. Flailing Tomb's underlying theme is a many-layered obsession with - and joyous celebration of - the defiance in persisting with lost causes. Building on the mythological foundations of previous albums - Haeligewielle, Onkalo and Mima - Flailing Tomb takes an underlying current that ran beneath each of these and pushes it to the fore. Flailing Tomb draws inspiration from sources as wide-ranging as Ursula K. Le Guin's speculative fiction, Indian-Celtic connections, self-mummification, Jude The Apostle (patron saint of lost causes), and Jean-Luc Godard's seminal sci-fi masterpiece, Alphaville (much of the second-half of the album is adapted from music originally written as an alternate score to the film), weaving all this and more into six intricately-layered parts - at once forthright and ambiguous. The Breakaways broke out of the Taranaki region of New Zealand's North Island in 1965 and went to Wellington, the capital city, to sign with HMV Records NZ. Their records catapulted them to nationwide fame via teen tv shows, six 45s, and two LPs. Having had already two big New Zealand hits, The Breakaways were en route to Taranaki with a rare night off when they realised The Pretty Things - in the middle of the controversial New Zealand tour - would be playing that evening in Whanganui. Experiencing up close the raw excitement of The Pretty Things consolidated their move away from pop and towards rhythm and blues.

The band's best recordings are collected here for the first time in nearly 50 years on vinyl. Fuzzy R&B! Blistering garage blasts! Dangerous interpretations of the Easybeats' 'Women' and a hero worshipping 'Rosalyn'. Untamed renditions of 'Milk Cow Blues', 'Ain't Got You', 'Come See Me' and 'Baby Please Don't Go' from their second and unbelievably rare Album Two are the centre-points of this collection alongside a number of cool group originals.

Corpus Christie, Texas 1967 - the town is a hotbed for young music groups. One of the local bands to cause attention are The Zulus. They are playing local gigs, have a certain popularity and a record deal is overdue. Carl Becker, co-owner of J-Beck Records, who had already managed the Zakary Thaks, offers the band a contract for his newly established Cee-Bee Label. On Beckers suggestion, the band changes their name to LIBERTY BELL and in 1967 their debut 45 The Nazz Are Blue' b/w Big Boss Men' gets released. The name Liberty Bell is indissoluble wedded with other self penned devasting garage recordings such as That's How It Will Be', For What You Lack' or the unreleased I Can See'. In 1968 lead singer Ronnie Tanner leaves the band and gets replaced by former Zakary Thaks lead singer Chris Gerniottis. The change in line-up and the arising spirit of time gives a more psychedelic edge to the bands sound and leads to another load of classic Gerniottis written scorching fuzz recordings such as Reality Is The Only Answer', Recognition' or Look For Tomorrow'. For the first time in 25 years, the music of the Liberty Bell is available again on vinyl. Brillant Five-Star-Texas-Garage-Punk - always and ever.

This collection covers the first two incredible years of Rembrandt Records, a Chicago based Garage and Psychedelic label of the sixties. After the first release by the Nite-Owls failed to chart, Rembrandt Records' owner Reggie Weiss moved in a different direction. His next release, Open Up Your Mind' by the Nuchez, merged pop with psychedelic music. The song was based on an LSD trip and response to the single was positive. Soon other psych and psych-pop singles were issued by The Circus, The Nickel Bag, and Monday's Children. Cash Box magazine began plugging Rembrandt Records during the fall of 1966. By 1967, Weiss was devoting all of his time to promoting a high-school band called The Lemon Drops. He wrote another LSD inspired song titled I Live In The Springtime' for the band. Unfortunately, the single was unable to chart, even regionally. Over the ensuing decades though, the reputation of The Lemon Drops, The Nuchez, The Nite-Owls and other Rembrandt artists has grown immeasurably. This compilation contains the most important singles sides issued on Rembrandt Records between 1966-1967, plus a number of essential previously unreleased versions that are appearing for the first time ever on vinyl. The fourteen recordings on this album make it apparent that Rembrandt Records was way ahead of its time when these treasures from the psychedelic 60's were recorded. First 500 copies with 7" Single incl. two unreleased 1967 first time on vinyl recordings by the Nite-Owls.

Collaborations was a tying up of loose ends and singles released in 1976, and is now available for the first time ever as a stand-alone album with newly designed artwork by Phil Smee and approved by Mike himself. Among its eight tracks it contains his two UK Top 5 smashes, 'Portsmouth' and perennial Christmas favourite, 'In Dulci Jubilo'.

Exposed was a double live album from 1979 that showcased Oldfield live on tour, performing his then-new album Incantations (the first album) and Tubular Bells (the second) concluding with his storming take on disco, 'Guilty'.

Don Van Vliet acquired the habit of singing along to vintage blues records while hanging with high school chum Frank Zappa. Founder Alex Snouffer formed the Magic Band in late 1964. And, by early 1965, the powerful and charismatic local blues combo had made quite a name for itself locally as the band' for local dances at the fairgrounds. By late '65 the inclusion of master guitarist Rich Hepner explosively changed the group's chemistry, dances morphed to concerts - with the dancers choosing to sit on the floor, captivated by this white blues band that seemed to transform Exposition Hall into a spellbinding Louisiana swamp.



In early 1966, the band signed with A&M Records. Producer David Gates (of Bread fame) was assigned production duties, and the first result - a cover of Bo Diddley's Diddy Wah Diddy' - stunned everyone. Famed Del Rio, Texas DJ Wolfman Jack' introduced it by saying OK everybody on the highway, you'd better pull over, cause here comes Captain Beefheart with 'Diddy Wah Diddy.''



Ill-fated times intervened with the coincidental cover of Diddy' by an East Coast group - The Remains - which was releases almost simultaneously on the Epic Records label. Confusion and chaos reigned, and the songs dropped from the charts quickly. Founder Snouffer reflected: That's a record label's, personal manager's, and band's nightmare.' Undaunted, Gates penned a follow-up to Diddy,' entitled Moonchild.' The band arranged it themselves - interpreting Dave's guitar/voice demo. Gates reaction: Boy, it wasn't supposed to happen like this!'



Van Vliet had also penned his first recorded compositions - Who Do You Think You're Fooling' for the B-side of Diddy' and Frying Pan' for the B-side of Moonchild.' Van Vliet went on in later years through many incarnations of Magic Bands to create the most avante-garde rock music ever recorded, but the roots of these early pieces echo throughout all the later works.

"Slow Hole To China: Rare and Re-released" is a collection of, at the time, various unreleased recordings by Clutch. Originally released in 2003 on River Road Records, Clutch issued a re-mastered version with three additional tracks in 2009 on their new label Weathermaker Music. Finally available also in Europe!

Eike Freese hat in den letzten 15 Jahren an mehr als 170 Veröffentlichungen mitgewirkt, darunter auch an Alben und DVDs von Deep Purple, Saga, Apocalyptica, Gamma Ray, Eisbrecher, Oomph!, Heaven Shall Burn, Callejon, uvm. Für seine Arbeiten an Deep Purples "Now What!- The live Tapes" und Eisbrechers "Die Hölle muss warten" wurde Eike Freese mit jeweils einer Goldenen Schallplatte ausgezeichnet. Außerdem wird er mitverantwortlich für das kommende Album sein. Aber dazu mehr zu seiner Zeit. Das gesamte Artwork wurde überarbeitet. Die Band ist immer wieder ergriffen über das, was die Fans zurückgeben. Über Feedback, Enthusiasmus und der Liebe zu dieser Musik. Das zeigt sich an so vielen Stellen. Am offensichtlichsten und wohl auch am unumstößlichsten an den Fan-Tattoos, die der Band gewidmet sind. Und genau diesen Tattoos, diesen Bildern für die Ewigkeit, dieser Leidenschaft, möchte die Band mit diesem Release Tribut zollen. So wie auf der Haut, sollen die Tattoos auch in der Discographie dieser Band auf ewig das sichtbare Zeichen einer innigen Verbundenheit sein. A unique personality, a rough diamond of French instrumental progressive rock, in which they reflect on Frippian guitars and KING CRIMSON's influences on symphonic moods, reminiscent of GOBLIN.

London trio Slowcoaches are getting set to bring their debut album into the world. The fast, furious, clatteringly majestic and downright fun 'Nothing Gives' will be released via Leisure & District on 2nd December. With 'Norms and Values', the latest cut to be revealed, Slowcoaches purvey a sassy, tongue in cheek observation of aspects of the 'punk' community and the rules that exist within it. The accompanying video is buzzing with lo fi fun, complete with the flagrant wearing of leather jackets, white jeans and DMs as a thinly veiled piss take of the DIY punk scene.

Recorded in two frenetic days at London DIY scene hotbed Sound Savers in Homerton - the cheapest place in London!' beams guitarist Matt Dixon - 'Nothing Gives' was then shipped out to Ben Hirschfield in LA to mix. What we wanted was something that was a progression from that quite lofi sound,' explains Heather. We wanted it poppy and also massive, and I think he's done that really well.'

In spite of its fun sound, 'Nothing Gives' itself details all the bad stuff that happens in life: break-ups, breakdowns, a pre-mid life crisis, a drug induced mental illness, falling out with friends, getting way too wrecked, losing your job then desperately trying to find a job... the list goes on. When I looked at the lyrics for this album all together I thought, 'oh man, this is so bleak!' says frontwoman Heather, who is handily currently studying to become a therapist. However, for the listener who doesn't quite fancy ending up in a dark pit of despair after listening, the record makes for a surprisingly upbeat collection. It's bittersweet, isn't it' shrugs Matt. See, Slowcoaches don't wallow in their misery, they dress it up with huge riffs and full-throttle power pop panache.

Iggy Pop's first band! All three 1965 Detroit recordings by the Iguanas featuring atomic trap basher Jim "Iggy" Osterburg on a 45 RPM single for the first time! Mona b/w I Don't Know Why was issued by the band in 1965, and the first and only pressing sold out at their local Ann Arbor shows. They planned to do a new prssing in 1966 with Again & Again on the flip of Mona but Iggy left the band for the Prime Movers, so this killer track (what hey, all three are prime cut super gnarly killer sixties garage mayhem) remained unheard and unknown for decades. IT's on creamy dreamy iguana- green vinyl so catch it while you can.

Morphine was an American alternative rock group formed by Mark Sandman, Dana Colley, and Jerome Deupree in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1989. The band combined blues and jazz elements with more traditional rock arrangements, giving the band an unusual sound. The band enjoyed positive critical appraisal. In the United States the band was embraced and promoted by the indie rock community, including public and college radio stations and MTV's 120 Minutes. Internationally the band enjoyed high-profile success, especially in Belgium, Portugal, France and Australia.

Cure for Pain is the second album by Morphine, originally released in 1993. The tracks Sheila' and In Spite of Me' were prominently featured on the soundtrack of the 1994 independent film Spanking the Monkey. The video for Thursday' appeared on an episode of Beavis and Butt-head and the track Buena' appears in the first season of The Sopranos.

By the mid-70s, fans had given up hope of ever seeing Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark and Chris Hillman sharing a stage again. But in 1977 they did just that, performing intermittently to rapturous crowds in both the US and Europe, both solo and in various combinations. The classic performance captured on this set also features David Crosby on numerous tracks, much to the audience's delight. Originally recorded for broadcast on KSAN-FM, it's presented here together with background notes and images, and comes as close as anything ever did to a reunion of the original, immortal Byrds.

The Talking Heads spawned a number of worthy side projects and spinoffs— David Byrne & Brian Eno's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, Jerry Harrison's The Red and the Black—but none were as funky, danceable, and flatout fun as Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth's Tom Tom Club.

Conceived as something of a larkish break from the grandly realized intellectual and artistic pretensions of the Heads' Remain in Light record, the duo's self-titled 1981 debut was recorded in Barbados with Weymouth's sisters and Adrian Belew and Steven Stanley from the Remain in Light band, and not only spawned a couple of hit singles in "Genius of Love" and "Wordy Rappinghood" but also became, in its own way, enormously influential. This was the sound of downtown New York talking, listening, and rapping to the burgeoning hip hop movement, a hybrid heard in a whole host of acts in the '80s and '90s, from Madonna to Mariah Carey to the Beastie Boys and beyond. Weymouth and Frantz went on to record several more albums under the Tom Tom Club moniker, but this remains the classic.

meisterhaft. "Es war mir eine Freude, Filmmusik zu diesem fesselnden Ort des endlosen, schimmernden
Salzes kurz vor seinem drohenden Untergang zu schreiben", so der Musiker. Während Gitarre, Perkussion
und Streicherensemble in dessen belgischen Studio eingespielt wurden, nahm er die Orchestereinspielungen
im ungarischen Magyar Studio #22 mit dem Budapest Art Orchestra auf.

The Limiñanas ist eine Band von Lio und Marie Limiñana, die im Oktober 2009 ihren Anfang als
Heimstudioprojekt nahm. Zu dieser Zeit verbrachten die beiden Franzosen viel Zeit damit, sich Musik von
John Barry und Ennio Morricone sowie Bücher über die Architektur des viktorianischen Zeitalters zu Gemüte
zu führen, wiederholt Klassiker des Film Noir anzuschauen und gemütlich in der südfranzösischen Sonne
liegend nach Inspiration zu suchen. Mit Erfolg, denn ihre Debüt-Single erschien bei Hozac, die zweite 7'' kam
dann bei Trouble In Mind im April 2010. Die Kritik erkannte in den dargebotenen Songs neben GitarrenFreakouts insbesondere Spuren von Serge Gainsbourg, Beck und Stereolab sowie Einflüsse aus Gospel und
Yeh-Yeh. Was stimmen mag, aber den Kern des Ganzen verfehlt, wie man auf den exklusiven Stücken "The
Woods" und "The Inventor" unschwer erkennen kann: The Limiñanas spielen einfach respekt- und
konkurrenzlos in ihrer eigenen Liga. Und genau das macht das Duo zur derzeit aufregendsten Band
