Deep Purple: pioneers of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Legends of Rawk. It's about time Music On Vinyl gave them the star treatment. And we're starting with an album that was never before released on vinyl: Purpendicular.

The legendary band's 15th studio album was the first one they recorded with new guitarist Steve Morse, who pulled the band up to new heights and made this the most experimental Deep Purple album to date. There was more focus on the guitar, they used pinch harmonies, they sounded like they were having fun again, most famously so in "Vavoom: Ted The Mechanic" based on a true story Ian Gillan once heard in a pub.

The excellent riffs and awe-inspiring solos appear on two 180 gram audiophile vinyl LPs, alongside the exclusive - and elusive - bonus track "Don't Hold Your Breath".

From the murky Manchester backstreets, the El Diablo's Social Club main man Neil Diablo (AKA The Midnight Chopper alongside cohort Mr Masters) stalks his Balearic-Rock prey with a sharp eye for a groove and a keen sense of razor sharp riffing !

1) Shake it Loose 2) No Reverse Gear Blues 3) Stormy Weather 4) Statistical Knightmare 5) I don't need your Roses 6) Big Fanny 7) Good Luvin' 8) Hot Potatoes 9) Warm Salad 10) Bones
