In 1964 Dave Davies of the Kinks singlehandedly made rock history when he sliced his little green Elpico amp speaker with a razor blade. Little did he know he was creating the 1st heavy metal guitar tone and riff in rock n roll, which he played on his band The Kinks' worldwide hit 'You Really Got Me.' Nearly fifty years after influencing generations of guitarists Dave continues to rock and tour. His 2013 return to the U.S. to support the album I Will Be Me was a triumph both creatively and spiritually as he found new inspiration for his soon to be follow up album, the highly acclaimed, Rippin Up Time. Released in 2014, Dave embarked on yet another U.S. tour to support it. He was joined by Jonathan Lea on guitar, Tom Currier on bass and keyboards and legendary drummer Dennis Diken of the Smithereens. The tour swept through venues in Milwaukee, Chicago, New Jersey, NYC and many more. Jim Sclavunos played drums for one gig in Bethlehem, PA. On every date Dave Davies and band played a highly charged set of solo album favorites, Kinks classics and new tracks. At the City Winery NYC on November 24 and 25, 2014 Dave and band put on an amazing concert to an audience of new and longtime Kinks fans, music industry stars and legends. They delivered two exhilarating nights of performances that rocked and ripped up the city's nightlife.

The Album
Originally released on Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label in 1979, Repeat When Necessary went on to become Dave Edmunds’ biggest album. The album was not only his first to chart in the U.K. but his first to make the U.S. Billboard 200. Its lead single, the Elvis Costello-penned Girls Talk, became Dave’s biggest hit single since his revival of “I Hear You Knocking,” an international smash in 1970.
Dave Edmunds and his Rockpile colleagues (including Nick Lowe, who is also featured on this album) epitomized the back-to-basics approach of Great Britain’s pub rock scene. The band also incorporated strong power pop and rockabilly influences and paved the way for new wave. This fusion was arguably never more potent than on this album.
7A Records were granted full access to the original master tapes and the album has been remastered for vinyl by Roger Béchirian, who was also the studio engineer for the original release. The album comes in a gatefold sleeve featuring extensive sleeve notes and song lyrics and is pressed on Red 180g Audiophile Vinyl.

Dave Stewart & The Spiritual Cowboys is the self-titled debut album by the English rock and pop band released in 1990.

The band was formed by David A. Stewart who is known for being part of the British pop duo Eurythmics.

Dave Stewart & The Spiritual Cowboys is available as a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl and includes an insert with lyrics.

Honest is the second album by the English rock and pop band Dave Stewart and the Spiritual Cowboys released in 1991.

The bandmembers on this album include Chris Bostock from JoBox-ers, Jonathan Perkins, Olle Romo and Nan Vernon,

but also include Martin Chambers from the band The Pretenders and John Turnbull from Ian Dury and The Blockheads.

Honest is available as a limited edition of 750 numbered copies on translucent magenta coloured vinyl and includes an insert with lyrics.

It is the third album from the band and described as "warm, seductive, melodic,
human, mostly intimate, sometimes raucous, folk n roll" by front man Davey
Woodward. He is known for his time in bands The Brilliant Corners, The
Experimental Pop Group and Karen.

This year it is 20 years since David & the Citizens released their debut
album "For All Happy Endings" a fact that we are now celebrating by
releasing it on orange vinyl for the first time
Now we can finally hear hits like "Now She Sleeps In A Box In The Good Soil Of
Denmark", "I've Been Floating Upstream Since We Parted" and "Pink Evening" in
new vinyl mastered versions. Music climate looked very different in 2002, band as
David & the Citizens were able to tour all over and out in Europe, indie pop
flourished with a steadily growing audience. David & the Citizens were one of the
leading artists with their anxious lyrics mixed with euphoric intense pop songs,
with diligent touring during the 5 years they were active, they acquired a very loyal
fan base, which continues to this day.

David Allred is a prolific composer and producer based in Portland, Oregon. His new album The Beautiful World captures an enriched, realised understanding of why he composes in the first place. Dedicated to the expression of existential themes such as death, grief, longing and loss, the album’s core theme centres around the suicide of a young girl Lauren, who was a family friend to Allred. For as long as he could remember, Allred always created music out of a kind of dissociative state which he finds alluringly easy to lapse into. A repetition of a motif is usually where he begins composing. But unlike his previous works, The Beautiful World firmly has one foot in reality and is deeply intertwined with Allred’s relationships, past and present. Through his correspondence with Erased Tapes label head and the album’s producer, Robert Raths, over the past year, he came to realise that everyone has a Lauren in a way – someone they’d lost. Through writing to Raths, Allred was able to draw out this thread from the work and position it more clearly as the central concept to this work. The music doesn’t reflect the chaos of trauma, instead it has a therapeutic quality. It was through this dialogue that Allred was able to create what may be his most cohesive body of work to date. The 11 track album unfolds around Oh Lauren, providing the core of the album’s sentiment – how grief returns to us throughout life over and over. Embedded more than halfway through the album, Allred allows listeners to cohabit a meditative space through ambient textures, drones and ballads echoing the vocal sincerity of Arthur Russell, Daniel Johnston and the hypnotic storytelling of Robert Ashley. To truly reckon with The Beautiful World’s emotional position, listeners must understand the importance of the figure of Lauren, and the significance she has had throughout Allred’s life. Lauren’s suicide as a child provided the catalyst for Allred’s lifelong grief. But it was death anxiety and grief itself which provided Allred a link to a universal relationship that people have with each other and the world they live in. Impermanence and loss are the driving force behind all of our connections. The trance-like nature of the album perhaps comes from David Allred’s time sense – particularly when it comes to memory and trauma. Time becomes non-linear rather than a straight line – where one can repeat or return to the same themes but older and in a different frame of mind. Grief continues to manifest itself in life and despite personal growth, there will always be moments where the same feeling will manifest itself again. The album encourages listeners to sit with the concept of grief, and Allred is hopeful they can find comfort and learn to process it in a healing way. The Beautiful World is therefore heavily influenced by Allred’s work in therapy, particularly his relationship to writing music. In the past, Allred would be composing music as a means to dissociate from his life, but the album sees him engaging and connecting more authentically than ever with others and himself. Despite his prolific previous works being made in the company of others, Allred needed to step back from the scenes that he’s worked in to discover what he really wanted to create. Allred concludes: “In the power of love, curiosity, humour, and reconciliation, we give you The Beautiful World.”

Transition — named #17 Album of 2018 by The Sunday Times —

Allred returns with a solo piano perspective on the album, aptly
titled Felt The Transition — out December 18.
"Felt The Transition is a new minimalist solo piano perspective on
my experimental chamber folk album previously released in 2018,
called The Transition. This music is reinterpreted on my 114 year old
upright piano which was very kindly donated to me by my friend
Adam Selzer who previously ran a recording studio in Portland called
Type Foundry. This piano is very sentimental to me as it was used by
a handful of my favorite musicians on their albums over the past 20
years, namely Peter Broderick’s ‘How They Are‘ and ‘Two Balloons’.
Somehow in a wild twist of fate, this piano would end up in my living
room as my own and I couldn’t imagine a greater musical
instrument best friend.
Felt The Transition was made with a homemade felt setup used to
muffle the sound into a warmer quality which also accentuates the
wooden creaky noises of the antique piano, which I love so much.
After spending hours at a time getting lost in the beautiful sound of
this piano, I started learning a few songs from The Transition with
it. I was kindly encouraged by my girlfriend to interpret the whole
album on piano even if just for her, so I did and it eventually found
a home on Erased Tapes. Thanks to Courtney, Robert, friends at
Erased Tapes, Adam, Peter, Rich, Kalani and Steph. Made with love

Kept in their original track order, from the opening chords of Scoop
Troop to the debut’s standout piece The Garden, each composition
gains a completely new light when performed on solo piano.
For Catherine E. Coulson came about after David watched all of
Twin Peaks in one block, which inspired him to write a wild punt for
the new season’s soundtrack, a tribute to the actress who played
the infamous Log Lady.
After opening for the legendary English ensemble and his now label
colleagues Penguin Cafe at London’s Royal Festival Hall in 2017,
David decided to write a song For the Penguins. And it’s not hard
to imagine it being played by a group of twelve rather than just by
himself, especially after Peter contributed additional strings on the
original version.
All of a sudden we feel that it’s in fact the less known pieces, like
the album closer Poet Tree that make for an equally strong entry
point to this new record of solo piano songs.

Bazan got his start playing to the Christian rock scene, but the narrative
arc of his albums has traced his crisis of faith and his questioning of the
Evangelical Christian world in which he was raised
Yet, this record is not a final statement, not a "breakup letter to G_d." It's the
deepest and most explicit exploration of his struggles to date, and a meditation
on all things passed between the generations, and for the first time in a while,
Bazan seems actually interested in re- engaging in conversations with the
Evangelical community about his doubts (for example, for the first time in years,
he'll be playing huge Christian music festival Cornerstone this summer). Curse
Your Branches is a masterwork by a modern American poet (Paste called him one
of the "100 best American songwriters" in a piece that followed the release of his
solo EP Fewer Moving Parts) at the height of his powers.

David Bazan was, for many years, the songwriter and driving force behind the acclaimed indie band Pedro the Lion, building a dedicated following and selling a couple hundred-thousand albums based in large part on his extraordinary melodic sense and erudite, theologically-themed songs. After a decade helming the project,he found himself embroiled in a major personal philosophical and spiritual cataclysm, wrapped in a growing drinking problem. Bazan got to work exorcizing both his demons and angels, ditching the Pedro moniker in favor of his given name and producing two incredible pieces of work in the Fewer Moving Parts EP and the 2009 full-length Curse Your Branches (Barsuk). Branches is considered by many to be a legitimate masterpiece. Charting Bazan's increasingly skeptical struggle with the precepts of the evangelical Christian world in which he was raised, the album covers some pretty serious ground. NPR called it "an album of great music and great humanity." Strange Negotiations focuses Bazan's energies toward the external, centering on his disappointment in the current state of accelerating American and global social fragmentation. Musically, most of Strange Negotiations sounds like a great rock band playing songs theyre beyond intimate with. Its the first full-length he's recorded with a band, the same band with which he toured relentlessly in support of Curse Your Branches.

David Boulter is a founding member of Tindersticks, he has made over 20 studio albums and film soundtracks with the band. Nottingham born, but based in Prague since 1998, under his own name he has worked on music for many films. These include an eight-part serial Pustina/Wasteland for HBO Europe, the American movie Five Nights In Maine and recently two documentaries with Turkish/Belgian director Volkan Uce. Yarmouth is his first solo LP.

The inspiration for Yarmouth came when David, arrived a day early for a show at the Arts Centre in Norwich, and made an impromptu visit by train to the seaside town where had spent his childhood holidays.

In a year when most of us have been unable to travel, Yarmouth offers an escape to summers past. It recalls the saturated colours of a John Hinde postcard in musical form. With a sound palette based around an old 1970’s Lowrey organ, flutes, violin, vintage tape echo and a Premiere vibraphone, it captures a dreamy side of Yarmouth. Sun- drenched childhood memories, long shadows on the sand, the sound of seagulls and waves breaking on the shore. The magic of the fair - the entrance guarded by a huge mechanical giant, club in hand, while the roller coaster rattles overhead on a backboard of painted mountains peaks. As the sun goes down, noise drifts out from the amusement arcades, and neon flickers on Marine Parade, lighting up the fountains in candy floss colours.

“As I stepped off the train, the weight of time passed hit me. I was overwhelmed by a sense of sadness and loss. As I walked along the streets, looking for Trudy’s, I didn’t expect her, but I did find the house. Slowly, as I recognised buildings, streets, memories. I began to smile. I hadn’t lost anything. This week sees the 50th anniversary of the original U.K. release of The Man Who Sold The World David Bowie’s landmark entry into the 1970s. The album not only began the collaboration with guitarist Mick Ronson that would continue withsuch Bowie classics as Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane, it kicked off a 10-year run of indispensable albums stretching through 1980’s Scary Monsters.

19th June sees the release of a very special limited picture disc version of the1972 edition of the DAVID BOWIE album retitled as SPACE ODDITY. The picture disc features the iconic Ziggy Stardust era artwork and comes with a replica of the poster which was part of the package at the time.

The November 1972 reissue of DAVID BOWIE was released in the wake of Bowie's breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and in chart terms outstripped the original making No. 17 in the UK chart and No. 16 in the United States. The picture disc will feature the 2009 40th anniversary remaster of the album which was undertaken to match as closely as possible the original vinyl issue.

Originally released in March 1975, Young Americans was the David Bowie’s ninth studio album. To celebrate its 45th anniversary Parlophone is proud to announce a special limited edition ‘bricks & mortar’ outlet only gold vinyl version of the album.

Young Americans was a huge departure for Bowie, creating a sound during sessions in Philadelphia and New York that he described as ‘Plastic Soul’. The album's two hit singles, the title track and the John Lennon co-write Fame, are viewed as amongst Bowie's very best with the latter giving him his first US #1.

Following on from Spying Through A Keyhole, in early 1969 at his flat in Clareville Grove, London, David Bowie with John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson continued to demo ‘Space Oddity’ and other tracks.

This live demo tape session is set for release as a 7" vinyl singles box set of six home demos, four
of which are previously unreleased recordings, Clareville Grove Demos will be released on
17th May 2019.

As with the Spying Through A Keyhole vinyl singles box set, the design of each single label is
presented to reflect the way David sent many of his demos to publishers and record companies,
featuring his own handwritten song titles on EMIDISC acetate labels with cover and print photos by
David’s then manager Ken Pitt taken in the Clareville Grove flat.

The singles themselves are all mono and play at 45 r.p.m.
 
Due to the nature of some of the solo home demos where Bowie accompanied himself on acoustic guitar, the recording quality isn’t always of a usual studio fidelity. This is partly due to David’s enthusiastic strumming hitting the red on a couple of the tracks, along with the limitations of the original recording equipment and tape degradation. However, the historical importance of these songs and the fact that the selections are from an archive of tracks cleared for release by Bowie, overrides this shortcoming.

As part of the ongoing celebrations marking 50 years since David Bowie’s first hit, ‘Space Oddity’, and following the recent ‘Spying Through A Keyhole’ and ‘Clareville Grove Demos’ collections, 'The “Mercury" Demos’ are 10 early Bowie recordings captured live in one take to a Revox reel to reel tape machine in David’s flat in spring 1969, with accompaniment from John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson on guitar and vocals. 
 
The version of ‘Space Oddity’ from the Demos, originally released with edits on the Sound & Vision boxset, is presented here in its true context for the first time. The other nine recordings on the album are all previously unreleased. In addition to Bowie originals, the session also includes the Roger Bunn composition ‘Life Is A Circus’ (which features in an earlier demo version on the ‘Clareville Grove Demos’ set) and the Lesley Duncan composition ‘Love Song’ later recorded by Elton John for his ‘Tumbleweed Connection’ album. David’s own ‘Conversation Piece’ is announced as ‘a new song’ and ‘Janine’ features a short nineteen second section sung to the melody of The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’.

'The ‘’Mercury" Demos’ set will come in a replica of the original tape box and will feature 1 LP, a print, two photo contact sheets and sleeve notes by Mark Adams. The labels of the LP feature the same EMIDISC acetate styling as ‘Spying Through A Keyhole’ and ‘Clareville Grove Demos’ with the song titles in David’s own handwriting.

The LP is mono and plays at 33 1/3 r.p.m.

David Bowie 6. I Can’t Give Everything Away (2002 - 2016) is the sixth in a series of box sets spanning Bowie’s career from 1969. The eighteen-piece vinyl box set is named after the closing track on ★ (BLACKSTAR), Bowie’s final studio album. The box sets include newly remastered versions (except ★ and No Plan), with input from David’s co-producer Tony Visconti.

Exclusive to each of the box sets are Montreux Jazz Festival and Re:Call 6. The former was recorded on the 18th of July 2002 at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival and among the 31 tracks features a full performance bar one song of one of Bowie’s most revered albums, Low.

Re:Call 6 features 41 non-album / alternative versions / b-sides and soundtrack songs, including tracks never previously available on vinyl.

An accompanying 84 page book features previously unseen notes, drawings and handwritten lyrics from Bowie and photos by Sukita (who took the set’s cover shot), Jimmy King, Frank W. Ockenfels 3, Markus Klinko, Mark ‘Blammo’ Adams and more as well as memorabilia, technical notes about the albums from co-producer Tony Visconti and design notes from Jonathan Barnbrook.

Parlophone Records proudly announces DAVID BOWIE, A DIVINE SYMMETRY, the vinyl companion to the 4CD/1 Blu-Ray box set, released in November 2022.

This 1LP brings together early mixes of HUNKY DORY tracks originally featured on the BOWPROMO album in 1971 along with new alternative Ken Scott mixes to create an alternative version of the Hunky Dory album, also featuring the session outtake ‘Bombers’.

1971 was a pivotal year for Bowie. He signed a record deal with RCA, he met Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop while in New York, became a father and penned the song ‘KOOKS’ as a show of paternal pride, played live for the first time that June with Mick Ronson, Woody Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder, the band that would later be christened the Spiders From Mars and recorded the classic album HUNKY DORY.

Angefangen bei frühen Demos für zu Hause, über Radiosessions und Live-Auftritte bis hin zu Session-Aufnahmen, Outtakes und alternativen Versionen von den Aufnahmen zum Album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR! enthält 29 unveröffentlichte Tracks, darunter frühe Songwriting-Demos, Aufnahmen von Davids Band The Arnold Corns, Proben in Bowies damaligem Zuhause Haddon Hall, BBC-Sessions, Singles, Live-Auftritte sowie Outtakes und alternative Versionen von den Original-Aufnahmesessions des Albums, die vom ursprünglichen Album-Produzenten Ken Scott neu gemischt wurden. ALADDIN SANE erscheint als limitierte 50th Anniversary Edition im Half Speed Mastering. Diese neue Pressung wurde auf einer speziell angefertigten Neumann VMS80-Drehmaschine mit rundumerneuerter Elektronik aus den restaurierten 192kHz-Mastern der Original-Masterbänder der Trident Studios von John Webber in den AIR Studios geschnitten, ohne zusätzliche Bearbeitung bei der Übertragung. Nicht nur das Album, auch sein Cover hat einen festen Platz in der Geschichte der Rockmusik inne. Es zeigt Bowie in seinem heute längst ikonischen Make-up mit dem rot-blauen Blitz im Gesicht – ein Bild, das sich weltweit unauslöschlich ins kulturelle Gedächtnis eingeprägt hat (bis hin zum offiziellen Emoji). Das Coverfoto wurde von Brian Duffy geschossen, der auch die Cover von LODGER (1979) und SCARY MONSTERS (AND SUPER CREEPS) (1980) fotografierte.

Zum 50. Geburtstag von "Pin Ups" erscheint die LP im Half Speed Mastering Die Vinyl-Sonderveröffentlichung ist erhältlich ab 20. Oktober 2023. David Bowies siebtes Studioalbum " PIN UPS" ist in doppelter Hinsicht ein besonderes, denn nicht nur ist es eine Sammlung von Coversongs, sondern zugleich das letzte, das er als sein Alter Ego Ziggy Stardust und mit seiner Begleitband The Spiders from Mars veröffentlichte. Kommenden Monat jährt sich die Veröffentlichung zum 50. Mal - das Album erschien ursprünglich am 19. Oktober 1973, gerade einmal sechs Monate nach dem legendären " ALADDIN SANE" und drei Monate nach der berüchtigten letzten Ziggy-Stardust-Show im Hammersmith Odeon, bei der er zusammen mit The Spiders From Mars die Rolle des Ziggy zu Grabe trug.

Am 20. Oktober 2023, einen Tag nach dem Goldenen Jubiläum, wird "PIN UPS" in einer limitierten Auflage als LP im Half Speed Mastering veröffentlicht. Die Kombination zeitgenössischer und retrospektiver Künstler kann immer kontrovers und katastrophal sein, aber in den richtigen Händen kann sie sich auch als passend und innovativ erweisen. 1995 waren Nine Inch Nails Co-Headliner der „Dissonance“-Tour mit David Bowie im Rahmen ihres „Self Destruct Touring Cycle“. Bowie promotete sein neuestes Album 'Outside', mit dem er in ein Territorium zurückkehrte, das schon eher an seine geschätzte „Berlin“-Zeit erinnerte. Zurück mit Produzent Brian Eno und der komplexen Single 'The Hearts Filthy Lesson', war seine Zusammenarbeit mit den neuen Industrial-Göttern Nine Inch Nails 1995 sowohl mutig als auch lohnend für beide Parteien. This show, captured on November 28, 2001, came on the heels of his hit
single, Like Humans Do and the release of the album Look Into The
Eyeball, which was another typically eclectic musical stew reflecting a
variety of styles and influences, from Philly soul to a DC Go-Go inspired
groove and his first-ever Spanish composition, Desconocido Soy
Critics at the time called it his best work in years, and his performance on the
Austin City Limits stage shows why. Joined by Austin's own eclectic tango
ensemble Tosca, Byrne takes us down many different musical roads in his ACL
debut.
Of course, besides the brilliant songwriter and performer that he is, he's also an
accomplished performance artist, photographer, web journalist, film writer /
director, composer of motion picture soundtracks, and founder of his own world
music label, Luaka Bop Records.
He also has a collection of Grammys, Oscars and Golden Globes on his mantel.
