Immolation was founded after the demise of Rigor Mortis (NY), a band formed in May 1986 by Andrew Sakowicz (bass guitar, vocals) Dave Wilkinson (drums), and Robert Vigna (guitar) After recording the Decomposed and Warriors of Doom demos, Sakowicz left the band in early 1988 and was replaced by Ross Dolan, and the band's name was changed to "Immolation". The new lineup put out two studio demos, in 1988 and 1989, and gained a worldwide following in the underground death metal scene. Immolation signed a record deal with Roadrunner Records and released their debut album 'Dawn of Possession' in 1991. After leaving Roadrunner, the band released "Stepping on Angels," a compilation of demo releases and live tracks. In 1995 the band was signed by Metal Blade Records and released three albums: 'Here in After' ,'Failures for Gods', and 'Close to a World Below'. After their second album, drummer Craig Smilowski left the band and was replaced by Alex Hernandez. Their next three albums, 'Unholy Cult', 'Harnessing Ruin', and 'Shadows in the Light' were released by Listenable Records.

“Come, Sweet Death” alternates between brutality and winding single string melodies that brings you back to the golden age of Swedish Death Metal! They say that the more things change the more they stay the same. If there’s one thing that has remained stable despite living in 2023 is that we love Swedish Death Metal. The style has become a favorite of ours over the past 35 years. Something about the guitar tone just makes you want to devour any release that can be described as “Inspired by early Entombed and Dismember”. The good thing is that there’s an incredible wealth of bands that draw from that well. The bad thing is that said wealth leads to a lot of bands becoming indistinguishable due to how same they are. Thankfully, Imperishable’s “Come, Sweet Death” manages to stand out from the pack, in no small part due to breaking away from the genre’s usual trappings. And in a way this is no surprise since the band members were or are involved in Vampire, Portrait, Nominon and Dr. Living Dead! As you might have already gathered, the band draws a lot from the Stockholm scene, more specifically Dismember, that is undeniable. What’s really interesting though is that they draw from their later, and more melodic influenced era as much as from the early days. Imperishable, like their peers effortlessly blends the aggressive buzzsaw riffing with leads brimming with melody, which most modern bands in the style avoid in favor of pure aggression. Said blend can be seen throughout their debut album, though it can be felt more on the longer tracks, like “Teeth of the Hydra” and “Fangs”, where the band has more room to develop their ideas and mix grinding Death Metal with NWOBHM-inspired leads and riffs. In short: Imperishable has great songs, great melodies, well-arranged structures and still is brutal, just like the great old bands were. And the production is spot on for this release. It is good to hear a band experiment beyond the confines of the original old school Swedish Death Metal sound. “Come, Sweet Death” is an extremely promising release, and a small breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale scene. Imperishable’s love for the more melodic aspects of the style make them worth keeping an eye on now and in future.

International grindcore / death metal monsters IMPLORE have been around since 2013. They’ve put out two albums, “Depopulation” (2015) and their Century Media debut “Subjugate” (2017), and a number of singles and split releases. Just like its members are spread all across Europe, never really settling down anywhere, IMPLORE have literally played a thousand shows all over the globe, a good number of which they’ve booked themselves – always staying true to the DIY spirit inherent in the underground niches of extreme metal and hardcore punk, which goes hand in hand with their unapologetic political and socio-critical direction. Germany-based frontman and only remaining founding member Gabriel “Gabbo” Dubko states: “The lyrics are about issues caused by modern society. Living life enslaved to a system and a low salary knowing that it’s not taking us anywhere and time is passing expecting or hoping things will get better one day, but everything’s just getting worse. This makes us anxious, dependent, drug addicts, fearful and lonesome.” And he adds: “Even though this is a socio-political topic as on the previous albums, this one is focused on a first person view, a ‘protagonist’ and makes it in a way more personal cause I gave more reflection from my thoughts and some philosophers. It’s about the effect on us, rather than about the perpetrator” After going through another line-up change before the recording sessions to their upcoming third studio album “Alienated Despair” they are back even stronger and angrier than before, never giving the listener time to recover from the constant onslaught of heavy death metal riffage, grinding blasts, punkish d-beat attacks and inhuman breakdowns. Their raw energy and in-your-face attitude coupled with an incontestably skillful execution will appeal to both the die-hard fans of old school death metal and grindcore like Entombed, Carcass or Napalm Death as well as appreciators of contemporary extreme metal and hardcore bands like Converge, Trap Them or Full Of Hell.

At this point, IN FLAMES are less of a band than they are a musical institution in the heavy music world. Since helping create Sweden's legendary “Gothenburg Sound” three decades ago to their current status as melodic metal monoliths, the act have constantly eschewed trends in order to forge their own musical path.

Celebrating 30 years of In Flames and 20 years of their 5th studio album ‘Clayman’, this classic has been remastered and enhanced by Ted Jensen (PANTERA, DEFTONES, GOJIRA). The 20th Anniversary Edition of Clayman features all new artwork and 5 new bonus tracks including a brand new instrumental medley and re-recorded versions of fan-favorites such as “Only For The Weak” and “Pinball Map”. Re-recorded songs were produced by Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, MOTÖRHEAD) and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (GREEN DAY, ROB ZOMBIE).

In a music scene full of seemingly endless subgenres and transient trends, In Flames are an example of what it means to steadfastly stay true to your vision. Since forming in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1990 the legendary melodic metal act have toured the planet countless times and influenced many of today's biggest metal acts without ever ceasing to push their own signature sound forward

In the Company of Serpents traffic in sonic catharsis. Their music inhabits the strange fringes between sludge metal and sprawling spaghetti western scores, constantly striving for visceral power and raw intensity, contrasted with eerie, spare instrumental passages. Founded in Denver, Colorado in 2011 the band quickly managed to establish a name for themselves. Several releases followed in the years to come and In the Company of Serpents managed to impress the masses on stage as well. Late 2019/early 2020 the band started to work on their album ‘Lux’. It turned out to be one of the most impressive Doom/Sludge Metal albums ever recorded. The band self-released the album in limited edition during 2020 but soon afterwards Petrichor noticed their supreme musical qualities and decided to offer the band a chance to release the album worldwide. A deal was made, hands were shaken and you now all have to face the impending doom before you. The music of In the Company of Serpents is so intense it mimics the gravitational pull of a black hole.

INCANTATION celebrates 30 years as one of the most influential and iconic underground Death Metal bands with the new Tricennial of Blasphemy collection! A triple LP set that catalogs rarities and unreleased tracks, Tricennial of Blasphemy traces all eras of the band's infamous history. From a previously unavailable demo version of the band's classic "Impending Diabolical Conquest" featuring Will Rahmer (Moritican) on vocals, to never-before-heard tracks like "Pest Savagery" - Tricennial of Blasphemy is another crucial part of INCANTATION's legacy. Tricennial of Blasphemy was mastered by Dan Swano, and features art by Wes Benscoter!

Inaugural vinyl pressing & remastered audio of Death Metal legends INCANTATION’s Upon the Throne of Apocalypse, the original rough mix of the recording that became the infamous full-length album Mortal Throne of Nazarene. Dynamic-yet-raw, brutal-yet-atmospheric, and death-yet-doomy, Upon the Throne of Apocalypse remaster features the original artwork by Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Nile, Cattle Decapitation).

Long heralded as one of the heaviest, sickest, and most uncompromising death metal bands in the world, New Jersey's Incantation has forged a legacy of brutality unmatched by any other American group. In 1992, the bands most celebrated lineup entered a then unknown Trax East Studios with a then unproven engineer Steve Evetts and emerged with Onward to Golgotha, the most dark and blasphemous death metal record to date. The combination of the inhuman growl of vocalist Craig Pillard, the ruthlessly savage aural malevolence, and pitiless anti-Christian attack was the ultimate musical sacrilege. Onward... redefined the bounds of brutality and blasphemy for the entire genre of death metal. This is absolute brutality!!!

Incubus is an American rock band from Calabasas, California. The group was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas while they were students at Calabasas High School. The lineup later expanded to include bassist Alex “Dirk Lance” Katunich and Gavin “DJ Lyfe” Koppel. Both were eventually replaced, Ben Kenney took over on bass, and DJ Kilmore joined as the band’s turntablist. In 2024, Nicole Row replaced Kenney on bass.

Incubus’ sound has been described as a blend of rap metal, funk, jazz, and post‑grunge, often incorporating elements of hip‑hop. This eclectic style helped them become one of the most popular alternative metal bands of the early 2000s.

The band has achieved significant commercial success, earning multiple multi‑platinum releases and producing several hit singles. In 2017, they released their eighth full‑length studio album, 8, with Skrillex contributing to production and mixing.

Chicago's blackened noise nihilists return to scene with their 5th full length album From All Purity. On From All Purity, INDIAN take their infamously hateful aggression to new levels of despair. Now augmented with an even keener sense of harsh noise, all the trademark elements of INDIAN's sound have been refined to reach new lows of powerful and punishing anguish. This is the opposite of easy listening.

INDIAN lets loose a glorious, down-tempo din on Guiltless, their third full-length and first for Relapse. The band's droning-doom demolishes listeners with colossal riffs, drums that pounds like hammers and blackened and absolutely tortured vocals. INDIAN's brand of doom is severe, and Guiltless offers no respite.
