'The Singles Collection (The Spinefarm Years)' is a new luxurious compilation of singles by the legendary Finnish doom/death metal band Swallow The Sun. It focuses on the Spinefarm era of the band, which is to say their first six releases - five full-length albums and the 'Plague Of Butterflies' EP.

All of these full-lengths are represented with two songs (the singles) each on 12" singles, while the EP is included in its entirety on the same format, all of them including the original singles artwork and new liner notes provided by the band itself. The booklet pages and
lavish press photos in poster size were made especially for this boxset.

Two versions are available: a limited edition of 300 will come in variously coloured vinyl, and the remaining 700 will offer black
vinyl. In total, a limited and numbered edition of 1000 units which includes certificate of authenticity.

Previously unreleased proto-metal album by this criminally forgotten UK band. Sweaty Betty were neighbours and friends of Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, all hailing from the West Midlands region of England. The Sweatier The Bettyer, was recorded in 1974/75 and features Budgie drummer Pete Boot. Also, on vocals was future NWOBHM cult legend: Rik Staines, who went on to form Dark Star. Their debut 45: Lady of Mars is considered a classic of the genre. One of the most legendary, influential and enduring names in rock music history, SWEET, will re-release their 2012 studio album "New York Connection" via Metalville Records. The release will see the album being pressed for the first time in coloured vinyl and a special edition CD with bonus tracks not included on the original release. "New York Connection" is a selection of material that was originally written by other artists, to which the band has unmistakably put their signature sound on . So is it a boring cover album? Well, no! Not really! This time it's a little different! Aside from a decent selection of must-haves - Andy Scott, said we have also added guitar riffs, drum beats or vocal lines from our own classics where appropriate. So their rendition of "It's All Moving Faster" incorporated the guitar line from SWEET's "Burn On The Flame" while "Blitzkrieg Bop" by The Ramones used elements of "The Ballroom Blitz". Although the most obvious example is the fusion of Russ Ballard's "New York Groove" (previously covered by both Hello and former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley) and Jay-Z's "Empire State Of Mind". Amazingly, it works!

Formed in Reading at the turn of the millennium, Sylosis swiftly stood apart from everything else that was happening in the British metal scene at that time. As the metalcore hordes began to dominate the mainstream, guitarist and chief songwriter Josh Middleton pursued a singular, defiant course, blending the machine-gun precision of thrash with the monstrous power of modern extremity and frequent flashes of progressive flair. Exploding into view with debut album Conclusion Of An Age in 2008, Sylosis established itself as a major player in the UK scene with live shows that swiftly became notorious for their riotous, celebratory vibe.
Ambitious, sprawling records that further set Middleton’s crew apart, both the epic Edge Of The Earth (2011) and its grandiose follow-up Monolith (2012) consolidated Middleton’s band’s reputation as irresistible mavericks: these were ambitious but reassuringly nails-hard metal records with bags of intelligence and soul, and an exhilarating alternative to the mainstream metal norm. Years of touring enabled Sylosis to refine its identity even further for 2015’s Dormant Heart, as Middleton explored new ideas within his band’s immaculate metallic squall and wrote some of his most devastating anthems to date. As a result, the news that Sylosis were to embark on an indefinite hiatus early in 2016 came as a huge shock to fans and media alike. While seemingly at the height of his musical powers, Middleton was beginning to feel restricted by his own myopic vision. But four years on, normal service is due to resume, as he relaunches his band with stunning new album Cycle Of Suffering. After spending his time off exploring new creative avenues and contemplating his own artistic
Cycle Of Suffering is immediately recognisable as the most vital and explosive record yet to be released under the Sylosis name. While still bearing many of the band’s expected sonic hallmarks, the likes of I Sever and Shield take a subtly ingenious approach to state-of-the-art thrash metal, infusing everything with a sense of perpetual invention and untrammelled intensity. There are huge melodies and gleaming hooks erupting throughout this sustained, 50-minute burst of cutting-edge brutality, but Cycle Of Suffering is bold and exploratory too: everything from slow-burning cautionary tale Calcified to the acoustic-led but venomous Arms Like A Noose indicates that Sylosis has evolved as a band, while its leader’s song writing blade has never been sharper. Dieses Album taucht in die düsteren Geschichten des Mittelalters ein und enthält Elemente wie die eindringlichen Klänge von Kirchenorgeln, Theremin und gregorianischen Gesängen. Das Ergebnis ist eine Reihe düsterer und atmosphärischer Kompositionen, die durch den Einsatz von Hammond-Orgeln und Synthesizern bereichert werden und eine nostalgische 70er-Jahre-Stimmung mit gelegentlichen Doom-Einflüssen hervorrufen.

Die Produktion dieses Albums ist im Vergleich zu ihren früheren Werken absichtlich rauer, um die organischen und atmosphärischen Aspekte zu betonen und gleichzeitig einen spielerischen Ansatz zu verfolgen. Trotz dieser Veränderungen bleibt der unverwechselbare klassische Sound der Band erhalten, der mit einer frischen und aufregenden Wendung neu belebt wurde. Sylvatica kreiert seit 2009 fesselnde Melodien und liefert atemberaubende Soli, als die Band von einer Gruppe von Jugendfreunden gegründet wurde, die von der Folk-Metal-Bewegung der späten 2000er Jahre begeistert waren.

Die Band debütierte mit den Folk-infizierten EPs "Sagn & Sagaer" und "Mosemanden", dicht gefolgt von dem vom melodischen Death Metal inspirierten Album "Evil Seeds". Während dieser Zeit gingen sie mit bekannten dänischen Folk-Metal-Bands auf Tournee.

Die Sonne braucht die Dunkelheit, um noch heller zu erstrahlen. Aber die Dunkelheit braucht die Sonne ebenfalls, um in vollem Kontrast zu ihrer Helligkeit zu stehen. Doch die Tragik liegt in der Beziehung zwischen den beiden: Die eine kann ohne die andere nicht existieren, aber beide werden sich nie begegnen können. Es ist eine Wechselwirkung und eine Abhängigkeit: eine Symbiose - auf die auch der Bandname SYMBIONTIC verweist.

“The Sun And The Darkness” scheint erstmal nur der zweite Release in der Geschichte von SYMBIONTIC zu sein, aber für die Melodic Death Metaller aus Dortmund ist es gleichwohl das Ende einer langen Reise. Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Underground-Juwels “Vaya” löste sich die Band bereits 2011 auf… Zehn Jahre später kehrte sie jedoch zurück, inmitten der Pandemie, mit dem Gefühl, dass da noch etwas ist, was es zu sagen gilt.

Das düstere und abermals sehr harte »Underworld«, knüpft musikalisch 2015 nahtlos an ihren – eigentlich unschlagbaren - Meilenstein »Iconoclast« an
es stellt jedoch den symphonisch-opulenten Aspekt in ihrem Sound wieder stärker in den Vordergrund.

Nach grün, silber und schwarz, folgt diese LP nun in einem limitierten Auflage in blau.

Mit 'Terror Winds' kehren T.O.M.B. mit sechs Tracks, die nach altem, rohem, blasphemischem Black Metal riechen, und von einer faszinierenden symphonischen Atmosphäre und nekromantischen Noise-Klanglandschaften durchdrungen sind, zu ihren Friedhofswurzeln zurück. Das Album steht für epische Weiterentwicklung der Band, deren Black Metal-Feeling für die frühen 90er authentisch ist. Das Album wurde live in den Ossuary Studios in New York City aufgenommen und von Tore Stjerna in den Necromorbus Studios in Schweden gemastert. Im Laufe der über 20-jährigen Bandgeschichte haben T.O.M.B. hat kontinuierlich die Grenzen der extremen Musik überschritten, indem es Elemente aus Dark Ambient, Doom, Death Industrial und Power Electronics zu einem einzigartigen Stil von erschreckendem Black Metal Noise zusammengefügt hat. Es ist ein Stil, der der Band einen wohlverdienten Platz als einer der Top-Innovatoren des modernen Black Metal eingebracht hat.

Nachdem Taake seit über drei Jahrzehnten die Balance zwischen Tradition und Innovation hält, bleibt die Band kompromisslos unabhängig und erweitert zugleich kontinuierlich ihre eigenen kreativen Grenzen. Diese unbeirrbare Vision findet auf dem neunten Studioalbum *En Skog av Nidstang* einen neuen Ausdruck. Die vergangenen Jahre zunehmender Isolation - losgelöst von zeitgenössischen Trends und weitgehend unbeeinflusst von anderer Musik - haben den kreativen Antrieb des Songwriters Hoest nur noch verstärkt. Das Ergebnis sind vier ausladende Kompositionen, die sich auf natürliche Weise aus der inspirierten Geisteshaltung entwickeln, die bereits hinter dem von der Kritik gefeierten Album *Et Hav av Avstand* aus dem Jahr 2023 stand. Die Aufnahmen zu "En Skog av Nidstang" wurden südlich von Bergen in den moosbedeckten Wäldern rund um die Insel Borgoy abgeschlossen. In jener Landschaft, die einst vom vom Schicksal gezeichneten norwegischen Maler Lars Hertervig dargestellt wurde, suchte Taake bewusst die konzentrierte Abgeschiedenheit der Umgebung. Dabei verließ sich die Band weniger auf moderne Technologie oder übermäßigen Studioaufwand als vielmehr auf Intuition, Rückzug, Kreativität und die meisterhafte Beherrschung der grundlegenden Werkzeuge ihres Handwerks. Und das Ergebnis klingt unverkennbar nach Taake: Rücksichtslose, rasende Riffs treffen auf düstere Schwermut, eisige Melodien entstehen aus roher Intensität, und Momente trostloser Reflexion gehen nahtlos in ungezügelte Aggression über. Das Resultat ist ein Album, das die anhaltende Kraft einer kompromisslosen künstlerischen Vision feiert - der Beweis dafür, dass Taake auch nach 33 Jahren nichts von seiner Vitalität, Eigenständigkeit und Relevanz eingebüßt hat.

For Talia Hoit from Colorado, who has been classically trained to play the piano since the age of five, her early musical education has definitely paid off. Now she writes original songs, performs on vocals and keyboards, and composes orchestra scores for symphonic metal. For many years, she has also had a passion for writing songs outside of any formal band situation, and is now working with talented producers and musicians to bring her most personal and intimate songs to life to share with the world. For five years, Talia was the keyboardist and a songwriter for the band AnaDies. Presently she is the lead singer, orchestrator and co-songwriter in the symphonic metal band Beyond Forgiveness and the keyboardist for the metal band Ob Nixilis. As a solo artist, she recorded two original home studio albums for personal purposes, Fate’s Too Small (2007) and A Little Longer (2012), which had a limited physical CD release only, mostly just for friends and family. Back in 2019, she recorded the single Angel (produced by Jarek Musil), which just recently received a new master, and after the experience of working with a professional producer she decided to pursue her solo project, to professionally produce and commercially release as many of the personal songs she had written over the years as possible. In 2023, she released two more singles: Abandon and Whispers in the Storm. Her extensive experience in the music industry and understanding of classical music are quite audibly reflected in these works, which show a high level of quality and expertise. Talia’s music is definitely a treat for symphonic metal fans and heavy music lovers, showing influences of bands such as Within Temptation, Nightwish, Evanescence, and Visions Of Atlantis.
