„Oh Yeah“ oder „The Race“ ihren Stempel aufgedrückt haben. Mit ihrem collagenhaften SignatureMix aus synthetischen Beats, organischen Soundbits und assoziativen Wortspielereien probieren sich die
Schweizer immer wieder neu aus, während man sich sämtlichen Genreschubladen bis heute kategorisch
mit unverbindlichem Lächeln verweigert. Schulterzuckende Pop-Kultur-Diplomatie, mit der Yello in jeder
ihrer Schaffensphasen neue Maßstäbe gesetzt haben: Von Avantgarde bis Ambient, von MTV bis Techno
und von Dada bis NASA, die bei Boris Blank unlängst den Theme-Song für den Präsentations-Trailer des
James-Webb-Weltraumteleskops in Auftrag gab.
Ein fast kindlicher Entdeckerdrang, der auch das 2009 erschienene „Touch Yello“ durchzieht, dass das
Duo nach 24 Jahren wieder zurück an die Spitze der Schweizer Charts geführt hat – eine ”Return to
Form”, wie es so schön heißt.

Jeder LP dieser Sonderedition liegt ein Druck (30cm*30 cm) mit brandneuem AC/DC-Jubiläums-Artwork bei.

Cranking out cover versions didn't die even when the group composed more original material,a version of 'School Days' by Chuck Berry would appear on their second album' TNT',whilst 'Baby Please Don't Go' would be pulled from their original 1975 debut album'High Voltage' and issued as a single in America.
These roots are the reason that AC/DC have become one of the best loved bands on the planet who never fail to deliver the goods everytime.......

Beggars Arkive will release a long-awaited vinyl reissue of THE CULT"S second album LOVE on February 24th. THE CULT is fronted by Ian Astbury on vocals and Billy Duffy on guitar. Their music and albums at this point need no introduction as they have cemented themselves over the years since they began in 1983, as one of the greatest rock bands around. Love was the Cult"s second album, originally released in 1985. It was their breakthrough and produced many singles including "Rain", "Revolution" and the epic anthem "She Sells Sanctuary" - songs that still resonate today - in fact "She Sells Sanctuary" was recently featured in Season Two of the hit TV show Euphoria. The album eventually defined their career, but at the time, it flew in the face of everything that was going on in music.

The xx unique make-up is an inadvertent second nature marriage of 2009's urban/guitar tribes, in one corner fluttering new wave indebted reverberation, in the other, plumes of post-dubstep sub-bass and figuratively, their defining core of rich R&B vocal textures. The enveloping vocal partnership of Romy and Oliver is one that would've dropped-jaws in any decade this century, and set amidst a shivering soundscape of beats and plucks, their bedroom-reared concrete-soul is being justly heralded as the UK's most original and treasured alt. pop artifact of late.

When the young South London quartet The xx burst onto the U.K. music scene with the 2009 single ''Crystalised,'' it was already evident that the group's sleek, dystopian vision of modern soul greatly belied their still tender age (all four members were in their teens at the time). And despite the group's confident cobbling together of influences as far a field as contemporary and classic R&B (Aaliyah, Bobby Womack), atmospheric post-punk (Young Marble Giants, The Cure), and U.K. dance music (dubstep, trip-hop), it was hard to consider them as anything more than the latest hype from hype-crazed U.K. journos. That being said, The xx's 2009 full-length debut is about as fully-formed as first records come, much less ones created by four teenagers. Building upon the alluring vocal partnership of co-leads Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft, whose wounded call and response vocals sound mature beyond their years, xx manage to craft haunting synth-fueled melancholia that exudes disillusionment, coy sexuality, and, sometimes, even innocence, all at once. All of which makes THE xx a strong, confident debut from a remarkable young group.
