'Blue Suede Shoes' released on Sam Phillips' Sun label in 1955 became a milestone in Rock & Roll history, being the first rockabilly record to make the national Top 10 as well as being the first to make the pop, country and R&B charts and sell over a million copies. Perkins went on to record a string of rock & roll classics which have both influenced and been covered by many of the rock greats, from Elvis Presley to The Beatles.



As well as being a highly successful songwriter, Carl Perkins also wrote hits for the likes of Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and The Judds. He was also a phenomenal guitarist whose playing style came to epitomise rock & roll and inspired George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds and many other aspiring guitarists.

that things could get any better, or that the fan fever could grow even more hysterical. But with the release of this, his
second record, Elvis had proved beyond doubt that he was here to stay. And this was just the beginning...

My Way: The Hits is a posthumous compilation album with music by Dutch rock and roll and blues artist Herman Brood, released shortly after his suicide on 11 July 2001.

The album produced a number one single, the first of Brood's career: "My Way" reached number one on 18 August 2001. On the Dutch album chart, the album reached #5 on 20 October 2001, and stayed on the chart for 57 weeks. The album was certified gold.

This compilation is available on vinyl for the first time and includes all his biggest hits, "Saturday Night", "Never Be Clever", "Als Je Wint", "Sleepin' Bird" and many more.

It was definitely time to get Joe Clay to record a new album when in October 2004 he returned to the UK to play Hemsby so a record session was arranged in London with an international crew of musicians.


With my old friend Jose Espinosa at the controls and all the taping done live the result was 'The Legend Is Now' that was released on CD at the end of the year. By the end of 1957, the rockabilly heyday of Sun Records was virtually over. Ray Smith's importance to the legacy of the label is that his first Sun session in January 1958 heralded the new era of rock 'n' roll.



Despite recording a string of excellent rocking singles for Sun, commercial success eluded Ray Smith. A year after a series of outstanding concert performances in the UK and Holland during 1978, Ray Smith died tragically as a result of a shooting accident on 29 November 1979.



'Shake Around' Includes 'So Young', 'Rockin' Bandit' and 'Break Up', which he recorded several months before labelmate and friend Jerry Lee Lewis' made it a hit single.

Some of the wildest records cut on Sam Phillips' Sun label bear the legend Sonny Burgess. 'Sonny's Back In Town' fully illustrates the singer-songwriter's hard-rocking, manic style, which owed just as much to R&B as it did to rockabilly.



A true rockabilly trailblazer and one of the last-surviving Sun recording stars whose career continues to this day, Sonny is fully involved in the album and will be promoting it during selected interviews and live performances.

Rock and Roll has lost her way, that free spirited good time girl with an eye for a cheap drink and an ear for a tune settled down too early and now sits in Tesco behind a fake smile and too much makeup contemplating where it all went wrong. So it's left to three London reprobates Chris Carr (bass and Vox), Greg Baker (drums) and Martin Minz' Inman (guitar) to put things right. Introducing DIRTY FALCON - Long time compatriots and music scene misfits the band formed as a 3 piece in 2012 with 1 remit - "play it hard and loud". Fortunately the day jobs in Landscape Gardening and construction see this power trio only too happy to oblige and on balanced diet of grunge and 70s rock they're pretty regular when it comes to a belting out a tune. 
But this isn't mere imitation or flattery to deceive - this is a realisation of what made Rock so great in the first place - a drummer dropping bombs like Bonham, a singer ripping through vocal chords like the lives of a reckless cat and a guitarist stripping the whole scene back to bare wood with Sonics that echo the Rock Gods of old. This is the real deal - it's why kids start bands. It's why just maybe good lady "Rock" can hold her head up, tell the boss to "f@&, off" and start living again - who knows maybe her best years are still ahead of her...

Doppel-Album mit Songs, die während der letzten Aufnahmesessions des King of Rock'n'Roll in Gracelands legendärem 'Jungle Room' entstanden. HUEY 'PIANO' SMITH was born in New Orleans in 1934 and by the age of eight had written his first song - on the piano - named after the street where he lived... 'Robertson Street Boogie'. After many years of honing his skills in the bars and clubs, and as part of Little Richard's band, he signed to Ace Records in 1957, along with his Clowns featuring Bobby Marchan. They hit straight away with 'Rocking Pneumonia' earning a gold disc for one million sales. 'Don't You Just Know It', released the following year, became their most famous 45 breaking the Top Ten Billboard Pop charts and No. 4 R&B. In an interesting twist Ace Records erased Smith's vocals from his studio recording of his follow-up composition, 'Sea Cruise', replacing them with those of white rock and roll singer Frankie Ford. The song became a huge hit and sparked the departure of Smith to Imperial Records.
THE TITANS were formed in Los Angeles in 1956 by senior member Larry Greene and included Greene, Charles Wright, Sam Barnett, Curtis McNair and Alvin Branom. They signed to Larry Mead's Vita label for two singles before making the hop to Art Rupe's Speciality family under the supervision of A&R man Sonny Bono. They recorded their version of 'Don't You Just Know It' in January of '58 which received excellent reviews but few sales. The group toured with Jerry Lee Lewis as the 'Get A Job Boys' before recording their final 45 for Speciality.

Bill Haley scored a major worldwide hit with a cover version of Big Joe Turner's "Shake Rattle And Roll," the first ever rock 'n' roll song to enter the British singles charts in December 1954. He retained elements of the original, but threw some country music elements into the song (specifically Western swing) and cleaned up the lyrics. Haley and his band The Comets were integral in launching the music known as "rock and roll" to a wider, mostly white audience after a period of it being considered and underground genre. This double vinyl release from Vinyl Lovers graciously collects 40 original recordings from Bill Haley And His Comets including the aforementioned classic"Shake Rattle And Roll," plus "Rock Around the Clock," "See You Later, Alligator," "A.B.C. Boogie!" and 1952 and 1957 versions of the compilation's title cut.

Wind On The Water was the second album by David Crosby & Graham Nash. The Roomates are, whithout any doubt, the number one doo wop group in the world recreating the white group sounds of the late 50's and early 60's. For a lot of years they have been showing it, getting to the point of even sharing the stage with their number one idol Dion.

After being a member of the much beloved Athens, Georgia-based B-52's for nearly 40 years, Kate Pierson has stepped out as a solo artist. While she was on tour to promote her solo debut, Guitars and Microphones, Kate stopped by Third Man Studios in Nashville, Tennessee to work with Jack White and the result was even more fun than we expected. The A-side features Kate covering the Shocking Blue track ''Venus'' with Third Man regulars Patrick Keeler on drums and Olivia Jean on electric guitar. Jack even pulls double duty playing bass and producing. On the B-side, Kate sings brand new track, ''Radio in Bed'', with members of Jack White's own band backing Kate including Fats Kaplin, Dominic Davis and Daru Jones.

Lubbock, Texas' most celebrated sons, Buddy Holly and his group, The Crickets, released this, their debut album way back in 1957. Though it's nearly 60 years old, the sounds are familiar to most everyone who has not been living under a rock. If you want only one taste of the pure and true brilliance of Buddy Holly, this record is it. Its track listing reads almost like a greatest hits album, "Oh Boy!", "Not Fade Away", "Maybe Baby", "That'll Be The Day", are all found on this LP. Buddy would be dead less than two years later, in that infamous plane crash February 3, 1959, "The Day The Music Died", but his music lives on, immortal. The Satellites are a Rock 'n' Roll quintet from outer space. They are touring around Europe to bring their 1950s sound as a musical radiation to earth. Concentrated on early Rock 'n' Roll and Blues of the 1920s, a temperature of millions of Kelvin arises in the audience during their show.



The Satellites have been on a secret mission called "exhibition to earth" when the connection to the space ship got lost. As the rescue squad arrived at the crash site solely a box with tapes in it was found. With these tapes the band introduces their second album on El Toro Records: Crash Landing.

Furthermore the leader of the exhibition received a limited extended player by the crew called "HOMELESS". This 7" contains four tracks, amongst others the title track Homeless, which speaks about prejudices. The A-side ends with the track Garage Party. As a special it's only available on the present vinyl. This tune is about a specific venue on earth the band played several times before.

In his first nationally televised appearance, on the big band leaders Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey's TV variety show, Elvis Presley shocked the country with his sultry and sensational version of all-time classics like "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Blue Suede Shoes". And, although the Dorsey Bros. show might have been his first national appearance, it was the legendary Ed Sullivan performance that truly put him on the map, so to speak. This hand numbered limited edition splatter vinyl LP includes both of those legendary appearance in one place!

One of the most iconic moments in Elvis' legendary career took place on September 26, 1956, when Elvis returned, as a newly minted star, to perform in his own hometown of Tupelo, MS - playing live at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair & Dairy Show. He played two set that will go down in history as some of the most heartfelt and rollickingly rocking performances in a storied career. Essential early live material from the King himself in a limited edition hand numbered splatter vinyl version.

Shortly after the tragic car crash in Chippenham where Eddie Cochran was killed and

his fiancée Sharon Sheeley and Gene Vincent were seriously injured, Gene was back on the stage and, among other things, made a special appearance for the Italian television on 28/5/1960. He performed for the program Boune Vacanze, where was backed by the razor-sharp guitar of Joe Moretti.

Joseph Edward Moretti, born on 10/5/1938 in Glasgow, Scotland, he supplied his guitar for Colin Hicks & His Cabin Boys, Vince Eager, Nero & The Gladiators, Jet Harris & Meehan, etc... and of course, Gene Vincent, to name just a few.

Buddy Holly is his debut solo album and second overall. Though billed as a solo LP, it features the same backing group as his first LP, The Crickets, one of the most legendary rock and roll combos of all-time. Released in February 1958, it was only a year later that he would die in that infamous plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa. That info still takes a while to set in, one of the most famous and enduring icons of rock spent only a few years on the public's radar before passing. An incredible body of work all things considered and this S/T LP may be his finest recorded moments on wax.

1962's Johnny A L' Olympia is Johnny Hallyday's first live album and features "The French Elvis" near the peak of his early popularity. Though he's still largely unknown outside of the Francophone world, his pure rock and roll voice and charismatic personality win over new fans worldwide every day. The Jimi Hendrix Experience opened for HIM, he's hung with Dylan, played with Page and Frampton, and was married for years to famous chanteuse Sylvie Vartan. This live album is the perfect introduction to Hallyday or an essential piece if you're already a fan. Killer post-Elvis rock and roll from a true legend.

Possibly the most iconic LP of their entire career, The Everly Brothers' 1958 S/T album feature all-time quintessential jams like "Wake Up, Little Susie", "Bye Bye Love", and "I Wonder If I Care As Much". Shockingly, as the legend goes, "Bye Bye Love" was rejected by more than 30 singers and groups before the Everlys agreed to record it, and the rest is history. Yet another required piece of early rock and roll from Rumble.

Put simply, Jerry Lee Lewis was one of the most influential artists in rock'n'roll. The man known as 'the
Killer' has enjoyed a career spanning nearly six decades and has influenced generations of musicians
around today. Here we have two glorious LPs of the earliest and most important works from the man that
made a generation jive.

Unquestionably, The Supremes were the most famous and best-selling girl group of the 1960s. During that
decade they notched up a string of chart-toppers all over the world. Album-wise, it all began here, with
Meet The Supremes - their very first and highly collectable album released in December 1962.

The Sound Of Johnny Cash, Johnny's new album on Colombia, hit the shops in 1962. Accompanied by his
faithful Tennessee Two the LP offered up the usual selection of Cash originals ("Sing It Pretty, Sue"; "You
Remembered Me") together with a variety of cover versions.
It was during the year following the release of this superb LP, that things began to change for the better. But
back then in 1962 - the year he confirmed his love for June Carter, performed for US troops in Korea, played
Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl - this was The Sound Of Johnny Cash...

For what would be his 10th album release, Sun continued to mine its deep reservoir of Cash recordings for Now Here's Johnny Cash. Inaugural single 'Hey Porter' makes its first LP appearance and signals a recurring theme for Cash's songs, trains and the American railroad system. It also contains a cover of Don Gibson's 'Oh Lonesome Me,' which hit #13 on the Country Singles Chart and #93 on the Pop Singles Chart. Though well into his Columbia career at this point, Sam Phillips and Sun continued to be a major part of Cash's success.

TOO MUCH - The British HMV Singles '57 - '58 comes hot on the heels of LOVE ME The British HMV Singles '56 - '57 Volume 1 (VTRLP2038). This stunning must have vinyl offering from Vee-Tone Records, concludes their homage to Elvis Presley's highly collectible British HMV singles. Featuring all 5 HMV singles from 1957 to 1958, and including 'All Shook Up' (HMV POP 359), Elvis' very first UK number 1 single (plus bonus tracks from Elvis' two HMV EPs, 'Love Me Tender' and 'Good Rockin' Tonight'). When Elvis signed his new recording contract in November 1955, taking him from Sun Records in Memphis, to national music giant RCA Victor, nobody could have predicted the influence he would have on the course of popular music worldwide. Elvis' pioneering, early UK singles were released on EMIs, HMV label before being moved by British Decca over to RCA/RCA Victor in 1958. Young Gun Silver Fox are musical sorcerers. On "West End Coast", they've fashioned a fresh and modern sound that summons one of the most vibrant and influential epochs in popular music. The ten songs herein pay homage to 1970s Los Angeles, a golden age of recording that infused the pop charts and FM airwaves with a blend of soulful voices, immaculate melodies, stellar musicianship, and sophisticated studio technology.

The forces behind Young Gun Silver Fox are Andy Platts and Shawn Lee. It was inevitable that two of the most prolific and versatile pop music linguists would one day collaborate on a studio project that crystallized many of their creative strengths. "West End Coast" fuses the talents they've mastered in their respective careers, from Andy's role as frontman and co-founder of UK band Mamas Gun to Shawn's numerous self-produced projects with AM and his own Ping Pong Orchestra. The authentic hybrid of styles on "West End Coast" is further steeped in the fact that Shawn, the team's silver-haired Silver Fox, is an American who resided in LA for seven years before relocating to London. "Speaking for myself, this is an album I've wanted to make for some time and Andy was the only person I felt I could make it with," he says. "Andy understands the classic melodic pop side as well as the soul funky side that was absolutely vital to the creation of this music. What a voice!"

Recorded and mixed at Lee's Trans-Yank Studio in London, "West End Coast" straddles several sensibilities that are united by the duo's impeccable song writing. Each song is like a post card from their unique musical universe. Album opener "You Can Feel It" sets the tone with a soundscape that conjures the vastness of California's Pacific Coast Highway and a cool ocean breeze blowing through the chorus. London's West End sets the scene for "Emilia," with a little Sunset Strip flash fuelling the song's high octane grooves. "Better" casually sways from one chord progression to another as layers of different instrumentation are stirred into the mix and bring the song to a fever pitch. A strand of Philly-inspired soul threads through the DNA of "Distance Between Us" while "See Me Slumber" serves up a three-minute reverie of cascading melodies.

The latter tune's coda sends the song into a whole other kind of orbit before the infectiously tuneful "In My Pocket" glimmers like a pot of pop music gold. In fact, little sonic treasures abound on "West End Coast". A vigorous horn arrangement is among several attractions on "So Bad," which packs a carnival of dazzling ideas into four minutes. Elsewhere, the central question in "Spiral" - "If your heart could only speak, what would it say now" - is accompanied by slinky and sensual cadences. "Saturday" operates in two gears, one that snaps and crackles and another that curves and coasts, powering the song to its swift conclusion. Like waves crashing beneath a midnight sky, orchestral elements swell and recede amidst the more saturnine backdrop of "Long Way Back." As the last note fades, the curtain falls on Young Gun Silver Fox's series of ten vividly produced vignettes.

In the world Young Gun Silver Fox have created on "West End Coast", every song leads to another sphere. No compass needed for this journey, just drop the stylus and get lost in the music.

Following the collapse of the original Magic Band in early 1974, Captain Beefheart swiftly assembled an all-new line-up to promote his controversial Unconditionally Guaranteed LP. Comprising Fuzzy Fuscaldo and Dean Smith (guitar), Del Simmons (sax, flute), Michael Smotherman (keyboards), Paul Uhrig (bass) and Ty Grimes (drums), they played in a markedly more straightforward style, in keeping with his stated ambition to 'hug the world'. This fine gig, live from the Cowtown Ballroom, Kansas City, MI was taped for broadcast on KUDL-FM radio on 22nd April 1974, and is presented here together with contemporaneous notes and photos.

'It is the most brutal, ugly, degenerate, vicious form of expression it has been my displeasure to hear.'' So said Frank Sinatra, and I think it will come as no surprise to anyone that, with that attitude, he is now dead. So there Frank. Wild Streak Rock n Roll Volume 2 celebrates another 18 cretinous goons, and acne ridden teenage combos, bugging and womb zombie-ing and Geraldine-ing for their own amusement and perhaps yours, though the drummer of the Ole Miss Downbeats (the exotically named Joe Smith) certainly sounds like Ol' Blue Eyes rolling in his grave.
