Girl Ray, the North London three-piece comprising 19 year-olds Poppy Hankin (guitar/vocals), Iris McConnell (drums) and Sophie Moss (bass), have announced details of their debut album.

The much anticipated record is entitled Earl Grey and will be released on 4th August 2017 via Moshi Moshi. Today they also share the latest cut and the follow-up to the BBC 6 Music-playlisted 'Trouble' and 'Stupid Things' - 'Preacher', of which Poppy said the following:

I wrote the melody for the first part a few years ago on a little toy Elvis guitar that I bought in a charity shop. Its tuning was really weird, and this song was the only thing I could really get out of it. The melody suited a love song, so I went with it.'

In the wake of a triumphant performance at the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, Girl Ray will headline a sold out show at the Lexington in London on 23rd May 2017. Another London show, their biggest to date, has been added at The Scala on 9th November 2017. Girl Ray have also been confirmed for this year's The Great Escape, Glastonbury, Green Man and End Of The Road festivals. Full live dates are below.

Girl Ray was formed two years ago when the band were still just 16 years old and in a twist of fate as symbolic as it was bittersweet, 'Trouble', their first single for Moshi Moshi was recorded on what would have been their final day of school.

A band whose songs document the dramas of adolescence with a wit and wistfulness far beyond their years, Girl Ray are the sound of that uncertain period in everybody's life when the rest of it starts to loom large, when feels are felt more intensely than ever before, and when every decision seems like a fork in the road on your way to adulthood. Being a teenager is a crucible of heightened emotions and transformative confusion from which the 'real' you will ultimately emerge, having fallen in love (and out again), outgrown friendships you thought would last forever, and changed in ways you never thought possible. What you typically won't emerge with, however, is a debut album as richly evocative of the experience as 'Earl Grey'.

Recorded with their friend (and now touring guitarist) Mike O'Malley over two "intense and insane" weeks at Ramsgate's Big Jelly studios, Earl Grey is a record of invention and ambition, whose delicate, sun-dappled melodies dance around the inside of your skull like a flickering zoetrope of memories - some fond, others less so.

Oro Swimming Hour are a two piece features Bristol's own Oliver Wilde (a much acclaimed artist in his own right) and children's book illustrator Nicholas Stevenson (also of Lucky Shivers). The 16 track album mastered by Orchid Tapes Warren Hildebrand is full to the brim with freak-folk anthems, lo-fi bedroom pop and the sound of Elliot Smith summoned to a torch-lit seance.
Penrose Winoa was recorded in the space of five short days in the living room of Oliver's shared house using analogue equipment. If you listen closely enough, amongst the hiss and crackle of the tape fuzz you'll pick up the comings and goings of various housemates as well as Sparklehorse the cat. With no track lasting longer than 3 minutes the album passes by in a breeze whilst inducing the feeling of a pleasantly sticky summer day.

Talking of the process of recording the album, the pair spoke of being inspired by "each other, wikipedia holes and a Dadaist game of consequence". The assistance of Orchid Tapes Warren Hildebrand has elevated these lof-fi living room pop recordings, just as he has previously done for the likes of Alex G, Ricky Eat Acid and Elvis Depressedly.

Grace Lightman started out fronting London psychedelic band The Hypnotic Eye before embarking on her solo career in 2015 following a chance meeting with producer and collaborator Patrick James Pearson. Previous outing 'Vapour Trails' was both a Headphones Moment and an MPFree with Lauren Laverne.

For forty years, Momus has been releasing albums to critical success. In his lyrics and his other writing, he makes novel use of de-contexualized pieces of continental philosophy, and has built up a personal world he says is dominated by values like diversity, orientalism and a respect for otherness. He seems fascinated by identity, Japan, Rome, the Avant-Garge, time travel and sex.

Phantom Forth were the brother sister team of Paul Luker (Guitar, Bass, Vocals), Debbie Luker (Drums, Guitar, Vocals) and Lorraine Steele (Keyboards, Percussion, Vocals). They formed in 1981 in Auckland, New Zealand. Paul began recording his own music after purchasing a 2-track from Oceania Sound. He formed a band with his flatmate and eventually met Lorraine through Debbie. With a shared love of Young Marble Giants and Cabaret Voltaire they started to rehearse at LAB Studio.

'The EEPP' was recorded in 1983 within a few weeks at Progressive Music Studios. Slated for release in February 1984, the mini-album finally appeared in November on Flying Nun Records. It contained seven moody sketches of Auckland. Their sound blends cold wave guitars, drum-machine propelled post-punk with female vocals. The core recording set up was a Casio-Tone VL, Boss DR-55 Dr. Rhythm, Roland TR-606 and an acoustic Yamaha bass. All original vinyl copies contained many clicks and pops and due to paper bits from previous jobs that pressing plant melted down. Included with this reissue are two early demos recorded at LAB in 1982, made prior to Lorraine joining the band, plus a recording from the Flying Nun live compilation 'The Last Rumba'.

All songs have been remastered from the original master tapes for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in sleeve with original artwork collage designed by Paul Lurker. Each LP includes a two-sided 8.5x11 poster with notes and photos.

The Coral are an English rock band, formed in 1996. The band first emerged during the early 2000s and found success with their debut album The Coral (MOVLP338) and follow up Magic and Medicine (MOVLP1889). Their self- titled debut album was nominated for the 2002 Mercury Music Prize and later voted the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine.

Roots & Echoes is their fourth full-length studio album. It was originally released on 6 August 2007, and debuted in the UK Albums Chart at No. 8. The album spawned three hit singles, Who's Gonna Find Me', Jacqueline' and Put the Sun Back'.

This is The Coral's last album with Bill Ryder-Jones, who
departed in 2008 to start a very successful solo-career.

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of Roots & Echoes. The first (limited) run of this anniversary edition is pressed on 180 gram transparent red vinyl. Only 1.500 copies are available.

The return of A Turntable Friend Records starts with an opulent 40 track retrospective compilation of their heydays in the 1909s. Peers of Sarah Records and Slumberland Records but far from copying their style, ATF Records always had their own musical identity allowing for a roster as diverse as Boyracer (with Even As We Speak), Secret Shine, The Claim, The Ropers, the Hellfire Sermons + Lorelei.

Swedish noise agitator Dan Johannsson bothers his good pals at iDEAL with a brilliant new LP following his Aska split album with Puce Mary in 2013. Malign by nature and intent, his overdue return to Joachim Nordwall's label is a sorely strung out and decayed thing, a dank space hankering to be inhabited by listeners who want or need to be pushed into uncomfortable headspaces. If you're into anything from Jandek to Wolf Eyes to The Caretaker - this one's for you.
Malign trades in a sense of depression and negativity that draws strength from the vacuum behind hope, vacillating forlorn, Loren Connors-like guitar melodies and rubbled shellac samples that recall The Caretaker with passages of fierce distortion and slurried atmospheric textures that project hellish images of waterboarding and abject terror on the mind.
The guitar pieces are almost Jandek-like in their awkwardness, often morphing mid sentence into the kind of shuddering knots that Aaron Dilloway would be proud of, steadily toeing away hope in favour of full depressive immersion and feelings from the brink.
Ultimately, though, the record wouldn't be so convincing without its severe sense of sincerity,
honestly conveying that pall of darkness without any ironic distance. It's a proper downer in the best way. As the label say 'Malign' is a hopeless, depressive record. If you had any hopes for the world, 'Malign' will erase them'.

Mashrou' Leila are a five-strong indie band based in Beirut. Their rousing, sensual electro- pop anthems about political freedoms, LGBT rights, race, religion and modern Arabic identity have challenged the status quo of the Middle-Eastern pop industry.

Ibn el Leil, which means son of the night", is Mashrou' Leila's most ambitious album to date, exploring the complexities of taking refuge in the danger, comfort, lust, and promise of the night.

The loose collective of students who began jamming together in 2008 at the American University of Beirut has gradually focused into a an ambitious, fiercely articulate quintet: vocalist/lyricist Hamed Sinno, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Firas Abou Fakher, violinist Haig Papazian, drummer Carl Gerges, and bassist Ibrahim Badr. And the music they make has focused, too, into a charged, atmospheric version of pop that is geographically impossible to place.

The lyrics draw on their collective experiences, which the band shares with the youth of the Middle East, and the album addresses the need for self-expression and a judgment free culture— a notion often stifled in a conservative society. Through their relevant and charged lyrics, their music has resonated with fans all over the globe, gaining international recognition for the band. CNN has described Mashrou' Leila as The voice of their generation' while the Financial Times have called them The Arab world's most influential independent band'.

The album takes place in a hypothetical night, zooming in on specific experiences, from the ritual of preparation (a prayer to the muse of song), to 2015's horrifying shootings in Lebanon, to the aching loneliness that can be felt even on the crowded dance floor. Ibn El Leil, as with all of Mashrou' Leila's albums, was self-produced and was recorded over the course of three weeks in a studio in suburban Paris. Ibn El Leil brilliantly reimagines the vibrant sound of contemporary Beirut with guitars, drum machines, samples, razor-sharp violin and magnetic frontman Hamed Sinno's mercurial voice. Self-released and never before available on CD outside of their live shows and a handful of stores in the Middle East, Mashrou' have prepared a new deluxe version of Ibn el Leil for worldwide release. The original album has been joined by a wealth of new material, including unique alternate versions, live sessions and an unreleased track 'Roman'. This will be supported by live shows across the Middle East, North America and Europe. Remixes of album tracks by leading DJs and producers are to be released throughout the summer.

There was always something sexy about Purgatory. Close to Paradise is one of those rare gems of an album that can stand as a gateway to wherever you want it to take you.

Originally released in Canada in 2006, and worldwide by 2007, Patrick Watson's breakthrough album has sold over 100,000 copies. Wooden Arms is Patrick Watson's highly anticipated follow-up to the critically acclaimed Close to Paradise, which vaulted the man and his band to international stardom in 2007. The Montreal band toured non-stop for two years following initial Canadian release of Close to Paradise in 2006, and in many ways Wooden Arms is the story and sound of a band waking up in strange places all around the world.

Whether it's the bicycle-city sound of Beijing,' or the warmth of a hole in the wall' in sweet New Orleans' on Big Bird in a Small Cage,' or the haunting European waltz of the title track, you can't help but feel in listening to Wooden Arms like you're on the road with the band. This Summer Is Gonna Be Sick...

It follows the story of a lowly servant (played by professional actor Michael O' Malley) who succumbs to his deepest desires, losing everything in the process. Get out ur Kleenex! We didn't intend for it to be this moving, our apologies. Nettles of the Parish 2 also stars heartthrob Alex Parish, who some of you may remember, and Dame Jane Hankin."

Dark Entries is proud to release 'Helden Platz', a long out of print 12' maxi single from seminal Italian electronic act Kirlian Camera. Keyboardist/vocalist Angelo Bergamini founded the project in Parma in 1979 and named it after an electronic device that photographs the electromagnetic halo around objects and living beings. By 1980, Angelo had recruited singer Simona Buja, keyboardist Fabrizio Chiari, and bassist Mauro Montacchini. Their demo cassette, 'Dawn', attracted the attention of Italian Records, a popular independent label. Over the next few years the band would release their first mini-LP, 'Kirlian Camera', the full length ' It Doesn't Matter, Now', and the singles 'Communicate,' 'Edges,' and 'Blue Room'. The latter was a significant hit, eventually landing them a deal with Virgin Records.

By 1987 the line up consisted of Angelo Bergamini on all instruments, Charlie Mallozzi on electronic drums and Simona Buja on vocals. Virgin wanted the band to provide another hit single in order to exploit the success of 'Blue Room", refusing to release the band's less commercial material. In 1987 the band went Lark Studio at Carimate Castle, Italy to record with Italo disco producer Oderso Rubini. Thanks to the insistence of Bergamini, the label agreed to release 'Helden Platz', German for 'Heroes' Square,' in 1987. The song features Kirlian Camera's brand of dark wave, marked by haunting melodies, slow moving synth washes, and orchestral strings. The song features the stark, dramatic vocals of Simona Buja, who sings about the 'Blue blood of Winter' in a tale of Germany and Austria during World War II. Included here is the extended 12' mix, the 7" edit, plus the original B-side 'Burial', an instrumental that evokes a funeral procession soundtrack.

All songs are remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. It is housed in the original jacket, featuring a photo of a headstone from Zentralfriedhof Cemetery in Vienna. Each copy includes a 2-sided postcard with lyrics and photos of the band.

Focused around the songwritng talents and producton skills of Jo Dudderidge and Adam Gorman and the rhythmic driving force of enigmatc drummer Nick Vaal, The Travelling Band have been quietly honing what Marc Riley described as Mancunian Americana'. The resultng album mines a rich seam of infuences, with key album track 'Last Night I Dreamt (of Killing You)' and the grungy 'Wasted Eyes' highlightng the band's love of American
indie rock, but stll with that Mancunian twist nodding to Elbow and I Am Kloot. 'Mopping Forwards' draws on their tme spent in East Nashville and the almost Sate-like melancholic ballad 'Loser' belies the darker turn that Jo and Adam's lyrics have taken.

Each track on Values sparkles with its own captivating tale that walks the high-wire between ideal and reality, expectation and the values that drive us. 'In the fall of Jimmy Angel' and 'Memory Collector', talk of the new trend for 'personal branding' and how society's values are affected by social media. 'A lot of life is about routines and streaming more bad TV shows than you're necessarily proud to admit,' Anton says.

After spending the last 24 months experiencing life in and between their rural hometown on the outskirts of Gothenburg, the Canadian city of Montreal, and sunny climbs of Athens, Georgia, Values also reflects the guilty side to the doors of opportunity brought about by relocation. Showing that where the sun may shine brighter, the grass isn't always greener, the climactic 'Empty Gestures' talks of leaving small town living behind for a new life in the big city. 'There was something that felt important about moving back to Sweden and coming to terms with how things are here,' recalls fellow family member Viktor. 'When we all moved back we were pretty relieved - it can be hard to shake that sense of being an outsider when you move to a new city... the experience is one of escapism and less about finding a new home.'

A former trio including third member Erik, in Canada Holy Family's ties were cut down to a duo. Anton and Viktor represented the band from their new base abroad, performing at M for Montreal and Toronto Film festivals and toured Europe with Of Montreal whilst their song 'Airy Jane' featured on the US version of TV show Shameless. The band received an award from the Swedish Association of Composers (STIM) but time apart only drew Holy Family closer and once the pair returned home, the group doubled in size after reuniting with Erik and calling upon the guitar skills of good friend Petter.

Written in Gothenburg Values was recorded over just two weeks in Athens, Georgia with Kevin Barnes (Of Montreal). With little time for breaks, the combination of fatigue and time constraints forced the band beyond their comfort zone and into new sonic realms, giving the record it's eclectic feel recalling the experimentalism of Blur or Grizzly Bear with the technical style of late 60s song-writing. Assisted by Drew Vandenberg and mixed by David Pye (Wild Beasts, 2:54) , before long the tropical temperatures surrounding Kevin's home took effect on the band. 'Just being somewhere that has t-shirt weather in April was impressive, but especially when you're from Sweden,' says Anton. 'Our first recordings in Montreal definitely had more of a second-hand sweater vibe whereas this record has more of a second-hand t-shirt tinge to it.'

True stories; real life, real people. For Holy Family it's our human, and at times non-human, experiences which have shaped the sound of brand-new album Values. An upbeat collection of thought-provoking tales reflecting the light and dark sides of life itself, each track is a poignant commentary by a band who have never been ones to stay put for too long.

Each track on Values sparkles with its own captivating tale that walks the high-wire between ideal and reality, expectation and the values that drive us. 'In the fall of Jimmy Angel' and 'Memory Collector', talk of the new trend for 'personal branding' and how society's values are affected by social media. 'A lot of life is about routines and streaming more bad TV shows than you're necessarily proud to admit,' Anton says.

After spending the last 24 months experiencing life in and between their rural hometown on the outskirts of Gothenburg, the Canadian city of Montreal, and sunny climbs of Athens, Georgia, Values also reflects the guilty side to the doors of opportunity brought about by relocation. Showing that where the sun may shine brighter, the grass isn't always greener, the climactic 'Empty Gestures' talks of leaving small town living behind for a new life in the big city. 'There was something that felt important about moving back to Sweden and coming to terms with how things are here,' recalls fellow family member Viktor. 'When we all moved back we were pretty relieved - it can be hard to shake that sense of being an outsider when you move to a new city... the experience is one of escapism and less about finding a new home.'

A former trio including third member Erik, in Canada Holy Family's ties were cut down to a duo. Anton and Viktor represented the band from their new base abroad, performing at M for Montreal and Toronto Film festivals and toured Europe with Of Montreal whilst their song 'Airy Jane' featured on the US version of TV show Shameless. The band received an award from the Swedish Association of Composers (STIM) but time apart only drew Holy Family closer and once the pair returned home, the group doubled in size after reuniting with Erik and calling upon the guitar skills of good friend Petter.

The Vaccines have announced details of the release of Dream Lover, the new single from their forthcoming third album, English Graffiti.
The single is available now digitally with pre-orders of the album and will also be released on Columbia Records as a limited edition blue vinyl 7' on Monday 18th May 2015.

The single was recorded in the winter of 2014 at Dave Fridmann'sTarbox Road Studio in upstate New York as part of the album sessions and produced by The Vaccines, Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT) and Cole MGN (Ariel Pink, Beck, Nite Jewel).
It features the B-side Dream Lover Reimagined (Malcolm Zillion edit), a reinterpretation of the track by Cole MGN.

The video for the single is a stylishly shot pastiche of classic early '80s sci-fi films directed by CANADA (http://vimeo.com/lawebdecanada), an international collective of directors based in Barcelona. CANADA previously worked with the band on the video to their last track, Handsome, a homage to Hong Kong kung-fu films.
With dream lover we wanted to continue that b-movie aesthetic and bubblegum escapism we achieved in the Handsome video, and continue collaborating with CANADA,' explained Justin Young. To me Dream Lover sounds otherworldly, and the perfect combination of retro and future and so I think the theme of the video fits the song and us as a band perfectly. We've always been fans of camp space adventure and so it was pretty fun getting to bring one of our own to life.

Having recently returned from a run of shows at this year's SxSW Festival in Austin, Texas, the band are currently in the middle of a sold-out UK tour playing exclusive and intimate shows, visiting some regional towns and cities for the first time in their career.
