The Vaccines have announced details of the release of Dream Lover, the new single from their forthcoming third album, English Graffiti.
The single is available now digitally with pre-orders of the album and will also be released on Columbia Records as a limited edition blue vinyl 7' on Monday 18th May 2015.

The single was recorded in the winter of 2014 at Dave Fridmann'sTarbox Road Studio in upstate New York as part of the album sessions and produced by The Vaccines, Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT) and Cole MGN (Ariel Pink, Beck, Nite Jewel).
It features the B-side Dream Lover Reimagined (Malcolm Zillion edit), a reinterpretation of the track by Cole MGN.

The video for the single is a stylishly shot pastiche of classic early '80s sci-fi films directed by CANADA (http://vimeo.com/lawebdecanada), an international collective of directors based in Barcelona. CANADA previously worked with the band on the video to their last track, Handsome, a homage to Hong Kong kung-fu films.
With dream lover we wanted to continue that b-movie aesthetic and bubblegum escapism we achieved in the Handsome video, and continue collaborating with CANADA,' explained Justin Young. To me Dream Lover sounds otherworldly, and the perfect combination of retro and future and so I think the theme of the video fits the song and us as a band perfectly. We've always been fans of camp space adventure and so it was pretty fun getting to bring one of our own to life.

Having recently returned from a run of shows at this year's SxSW Festival in Austin, Texas, the band are currently in the middle of a sold-out UK tour playing exclusive and intimate shows, visiting some regional towns and cities for the first time in their career.

Rachel Rutt comes from a career as a model in both the Australian and international fashion industry, alongside a visual arts practice, pursuing textile as a craft. This led to collaborations with acclaimed ethical fashion brands such as Tome NYC and Wool and the Gang, evolving into documentation, combining film, music, and costume in a visual exploration. With her work with Ryan these mediums have come together once again to visually support the world of Heart People.

For Twinsmith, the occasion to make a third album came with an opportunity to distill their process down to its essential parts, and to re-focus the band's perspective in order to fully embrace their sound. Longtime friends Jordan Smith and Matt Regner had written a pair of records as Twinsmith, starting with 2013's self-titled debut and then 2015's Alligator Years - which earned press attention from outlets including NPR Music's All Songs Considered, Interview, NYLON ('Band Crush'), and Culture Collide, among others. While the lineup would grow to include bassist Bill Sharp and other hired guns to round out the stage, the songwriting core learned to vary their approach while relying on each other to push the plot forward.

Starting as DIY tinkerers in a basement, Smith and Regner would evolve their sound from hazy surf rock to a fuller, more dynamic guitar-and-keys pop appeal, making good use of the perks like recording studios and engineers that often come with progress. But as it came time to begin again for a new album, they found themselves looking back to the beginning, stripping back their process and recording in the dining room of their house using old synths and '80s drum machines.

Produced by friend and Omaha neighbor Graham Ulicny (Reptar, The Faint), this limitation on personnel would remain the only thing strict during the process. By removing distractions and relying on their own prowess, as well as pealing back the sound to create shorter, more direct songs, Twinsmith found that this laid back approach allowed them to focus on the same goals and to create something entirely for themselves. The main goal was to make something a bit more personal to us,' Smith says. The last album was kind of in-your-face pop music and that's why we made this so short and sweet, we wanted listeners to hear the small, distinct sounds we were working on. Because there were only a few people involved, we could make our decisions more directly. We wanted to make something we could use to relate to a bigger mass and bring people back.'Stripping the words, the music, and the players down to their raw parts, Twinsmith have created a work of con_dent determination. Melodies soar and rhythms sway, the beats pulse with a laid back but urgent immediacy, and the simplicity of it all stitches the songs together in its mysterious way. What made the lifelong Mississippi boy pull up stakes and head west No one looks at you funny if you wear a tuxedo to the supermarket.' What he means is he moved there to shake up his surroundings, clear his head, and write the most accomplished record of his young career, the magical mystery tour de force Across the Multiverse.

Following the lead of musical-polymaths-with-LA-ties before him like Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks, and Harry Nilsson, Dent's style on Across the Multiverse will be familiar to fans of his previous work. Yet there's something more refined about this collection... Stately strings mingle with boogie piano like old friends. Synths weave a celestial backdrop throughout. Every verse, bridge and chorus in its right place, giving it the unmistakable feel of a true songwriting craftsman at work. Lyrically Dent has never been sharper, musing on themes like modern romance ( Picture on a Screen', Face Down in the Gutter of Your Love'), existential dread ( Dream 4 Me', I'm Gonna Live Forever Until I'm Dead'), and the distance to the moon ( Distance to the Moon') as he searches for meaning among the infinite scrolling feeds of our 21st century augmented reality. Across the Multiverse was written and recorded in a sunny bedroom in LA's Highland Park neighborhood, with Dent producing and playing nearly every instrument himself. The tracks were selected from dozens of songs written after the LA move, a gold rush of productivity inspired by late nights DJing rare disco funk cuts at local watering holes. It's his first record for new label Carpark and will be released August 18th.

Dent May is a self-described hotel bar lounge singer and aspiring daytime TV talk show host - has been charming his way into the hearts of music fans since the release of his debut album The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele on Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label in 2009. The Mississippi-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter, performer, and Dolly Parton enthusiast has since released two more acclaimed records, Do Things (2012) and Warm Blanket (2013), dropped the holiday smash I'll Be Stoned For Christmas', and played hundreds of shows from Shanghai to Chicago. His latest album, Across the Multiverse, is an interstellar voyage of mythic proportions.

This Record Store Day exclusive 10" includes three versions of two tracks from Cleopatra, each recorded at a different point in the song's life. There's the "seed", which is the early demo version, the album cut and a live version pulled from of the shows on the tour. This particular record features seeds of "Angela" and "Long Way From Home" and it's a great piece for anyone who loves the band and wants to feel a part of their creative process.

14 Iced Bears second album 'Wonder' was Originally released in 1991, by now they were listening more to The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Big Star and the 13th Floor Elevators and they had strayed even further from their early indie-pop origins towards spaced out soundscapes, their sound had become notably more psychedelic, with the band drawing deeper on their 60s influences, while still retaining the feel for melody present in their previous work.

The subsequent EP 'Hold On/'Summer Nights'/'In The Morning' was to be the band's last release but they went on to support Sterling Morrison and Mo Tucker from the Velvet Underground and Big Star's Alex Chilton on his 1992 solo tour.

14 Iced Bears called it a day at the end of 1992 after Robert Sekula moved back to London, Thereafter their cult status grew, fuelled by CD retrospectives from Overground, Slumberland and Cherry Red. Culminating in 2010 when the band reformed and toured the US.

Adam Franklin (Swervedriver) covers Bowie and Lemmy. "When Lemmy and Bowie passed away within two weeks of each other at the end of 2015/start of 2016, I realised I had two unfinished cover versions of songs by each lurking on my laptop and decided to pull them up and finish them off in one session. The two songs are from hugely different eras - 'Iron Horse/Born To Lose' is a very early Motorhead song first appearing in 1977 while Bowie's 'Thursday's Child' was released as a single in 1999 but there's a vulnerability in them both which links them together and although these two interpretations sound nothing like the originals they do somewhat sound like each other. There's late 70s/early 80s technology going on here with Wasp Synth and 808 Drum Machine sounds as well as my trusty old Crumar Nu Performer and after sprinkling stuttering delayed electric guitars over both tracks in one continuous overdub, I'd like to think that what comes out of the speakers might sound a bit like some alternative version of the late 70s, like the Scarfolk Council vision of the dystopian future - sadly a lot less scary now that the actual dystopian future seems like it may finally have arrived in 2017." Ralegh Long's second full-length album Upwards of Summer marks a change of pace. The piano, strings and woodwind of his 2015 debut Hoverance are nowhere to be seen, exchanged for the jangle of chorus guitars, mandolins and anthemic hooks in a thrilling, confdent album. Themes of freedom and frustraton are wrapped in exhilaratng power-pop with magnifcently crafed arrangements, neatly combining the fragile pastoral beauty of his
previous material with deliciously woozy psychedelic country-rock.
Teaming up with producer Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Phobophobes and Goat- Girl), Long cut the album in a week at Margo's Hermitage Works Studios in North London. It was recorded with his touring band, including Hefner's Jack Hayter on Pedal Steel who, alongside Long's vocal and lyrical tcs, represents the most obvious contnuaton from Hoverance. He was also joined by Will Lamport on drums, Harpal Mudhar on percussion and drums and Richard Ellis on bass, whilst Long played mandolin, guitars and keyboards. The new album found its gestaton during heavy touring in 2016, in a period of change during which Long says he was unsure if he was even going to carry on making music. By the tme he got back to England and started writng the album, he says he just remembered what it was
like to pick up a guitar for the frst tme, and tapped into that place of instnct'.
Opener Take Your Mind Back' sets the scene, located on a fight back from Japan, Watching the sun rising on a distant curve'. Album highlight Big August' was a late, largely improvised
additon to the album. It presents a Robyn Hitchcock- esque sea of imagery, describing the buzz of summer with, Bugs the size of my feet / when they're in their shoes'. Take It' contnues the theme of travel in a tale of the unravelling of family dynamics on a plane into Norway, where Long sees everything refected in a rivalry', declaring you to me are dearer than I let you be / I was pinioned by the voices of conformity'.
By the end of the album, the focus returns home, in the felds of The Combine' and the plea to take it back' in Home'. Home' sums up the conficts of the album, of escape and return, youth and age in its opening lines, There's something inside you, inside the night / a sense of leaving, come back / to an old house, when you were younger.'
