Dave besuchte Neil damals im Studio, um ihm einen Song vorzuspielen, den er gerade geschrieben hatte - und eins kam zum anderen. Da die Stücke der beiden aus reiner Lust am Spielen entstanden und zunächst gar nicht für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt waren, war es nur konsequent, dass sie ihr erstes Werk nach gutem Zureden ihrer Freunde auf ihrem eigenen Label Tail Feather Records veröffentlichten.

SEXBEAT Records (White Lung, Eagulls, GAPS) are thrilled to announce the release of Moon Gangs, aka Will Young's, three song debut record. The tracks (I, II, & III) were recorded over three months in late 2013, edited down from ten hours

of improvised synth recordings (made entirely using looped Eurorack modular synths), into three intense movements, each just shy of ten minutes long.



The EP was inspired by John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream soundtracks, plus synth driven Krautrock like Ashra Tempel and Popol Vuh, and probably fits contextually somewhere in between modern day electronic outsiders The Haxan Cloak

and Blanck Mass, and successful diy bands; Hookworms (this EP was also mixed by Matt J of Hookworms / Suburban Studios) and Echo Lake (Linda Jarvis designed the artwork for the sleeve and record, and). All tracks were mastered by

East London producer and engineer Rory Attwell (Palma Violets, Big Deal, Veronica Falls, etc).



Live, Will performs in a variety of different set ups, sometimes solo, sometimes performing with one, two or three drummers. All live shows are performed live and fully improvised with no computers, samples or backing tracks.

Moon Gangs 'Moon Gangs' is out as a digital download and a limited edition one sided 12" vinyl. The record sleeve and the blank side of the vinyl have been screen printed onto, for this limited edition release.

Given the tendency of popstrels to emerge fully formed from the ether, the development of North-Londoner Pawws (akasinger-songwriter Lucy Taylor) has undoubtedly been a much-needed breath of fresh air. Describing her sound as 'upsetting disco', her work details trials of love lost and won. Lucy started her career as a live session musician for Kele Okereke and also performed with the likes of MGMT. Her experiences with them led her to write her own tracks, recording them at home and posting them online under her adopted nom de plume. Her first releases gained her a huge amount of attention, heralding praise from the likes of NME and Billboard. Not long after releasing her debut single Time To Say Goodbye / Slow Love she signed a deal with Three Six Zero, a management company partnered with Roc Nation.



Sugar, her debut EP, is coloured by a subtlety of emotion and lingering nostalgia that encapsulates the maturity of her sound, all the while exploring the tempestuousness of relationships. 'I guess the main theme of this EP is the what happens when you continue loving someone, even when you know it is bad for you,' she explains. 'Although the EP is generally about the pitfalls of love I still think it has an element of hope to it, because you only take risks and end up in those situations when you're open with your heart.'

After their BBC Sound of 2014 nomination and the recent NME Awards tour, Royal Blood's rise continues with release of the new single 'Come On Over'. The track was Radio 1's Hottest Record and the duo made their first ever appearance on Later... with Jools Holland on Tuesday 22nd April.

Encapsulating their ferocious, bluesy bass and drums groove, 'Come On Over' blisters with an immediate intensity that matches their recent breakthrough singles 'Out of the Black' and 'Little Monster'. Follow up single 'Figure It Out' is set for release Monday 18th August.

Royal Blood is a mixture of anguished vocals, ferocious drumming and bass that provides intricate detail as well as a rumble of rhythm. Royal Blood are the result of a lineage that stretches from present day heroes Queens of the Stone Age to the influential Led Zeppelin, and all the way back to early blues pioneers.

Zwei Jahre nach dem von Kritikern hoch gelobten Album "Total Loss" veröffentlicht Tom Krell alias How To Dress Well sein drittes Album "What Is This Heart" via Domino Records. Die zwölf Songs entstanden während einer kraftraubenden Tour durch die ganze Welt. Aufgenommen hat Tom Krell zusammen mit Produzent Rodaidh Mc Donald im Hochsommer des letzten Jahres in einem Neuköllner Studio in Berlin. Das Resultat ist ein ambitioniertes Pop Album für das 21. Jahrhundert, das Einflüsse von so unterschiedlichen Künstlern wie Prince, Lou Reed, Burial und Tracy Chapman vereint und sein ganz eigenes Hinterland aus Fragilität, Sexualität und überwältigender Freude kreiert.

"Saudade" ist eine spezifisch portugiesische Form des Weltschmerzes. Es läßt sich mit "Traurigkeit", "Wehmut", "Sehnsucht" oder "sanfte Melancholie" nur annähernd übersetzen. Das Wort steht für das nostalgische Gefühl, etwas Geliebtes verloren zu haben, wohlahnend, dass es nie wieder zurückkommt. Das Album ist stark beeinflusst von Klassikern wie Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gal Costa und Luis Bonfá, aber auch Serge Gainsbourg, Ennio Morricone und modernen Künstlern wie der Electro-Samba-Pionierin Isabelle Antena. "Saudade" entstand mit Hilfe einer Vielzahl von Gastmusikern. Jeder Track wurde von eine Sängerin gesungen, die da wären LouLou Ghelichkhani, die Newcomerin Elin Melgarejo, Nouvelle Vague-Sängerin Karina Zeviani, die argentinische Chanteuse Natalia Clavier und die ehemalige Bitter:Sweet Singe/Songwriterin Shana Halligan. Weitere Gäste sind der U.N.K.L.E.-Drummer Michael Lowery, der argentinische Singer/Songwriter Federico Aubele und der Meister der brasilianischen Percussion, Roberto Santos.

The debut album by the Burlington, VT, duo of Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen follows acclaimed single releases on Mexican Summer and the Reverberation Appreciation Society, plus an appearance on the 'Psych For Sore Eyes' EP, now recognized as a landmark in the burgeoning new psychedelic movement.
'Departure' was mixed and mastered by Spacemen 3 legend Sonic Boom at his studio in Rugby, UK. His other recent credits include Panda Bear, Peaking Lights, MGMT and Wooden Shjips.
The key element of the almost primitive rock'n'roll songs on 'Departure' is their boundless energy, which tear up the psychedelic rock template with a genuine punk spirit. Combine that with the use of synths and drum machines, and it's not surprising to see why the band have won over Suicide's Alan Vega, with whom they will be working soon. Another famous friend is former Galaxie 500 and Luna frontman (and Sonic Cathedral labelmate) Dean Wareham, who plays guitar on 'Tomorrow'. The band will be supporting Dean on his US East Coast dates in April 2014, before heading over the Atlantic to join The Brian Jonestown Massacre on their UK tour in June and July. Further US and European live dates are planned for September and full press campaigns by Solid Gold (US), Wagmüller PR (DE), HIM Media (FR) and Sonic Cathedral
(UK) are already underway.

MALKY, das ist Bulgarisch und heißt so viel wie "kleiner Junge". MALKY, das sind Sänger Daniel Stoyanov und Keyboarder und Produzent Michael Vajna. MALKY kommen aus Leipzig. Und sind doch nicht von hier. Mit Hingabe studieren und zerlegen MALKY den Klang der 60er-Jahre und setzen alles neu zusammen. Auf Ihrem Debütalbum "Soon" hört man Popmusik mit Tiefe und von internationalem Format, geschult an Motown und den Beatles genauso wie an zeitgenössischer Elektronik. Of Blessed Feathers' 2012 EP Peaceful Beast in an Ocean of Weeds, PopMatters' Matthew Fiander wrote that the Wisconsin duo's 'hazy sounds can still be awfully substantial'. That description definitely applies to the group's new full-length Order of the Arrow, as the ascendant melodies conjured up by Donivan Berube and Jacquelyn Beaupre are anchored by pithy folk structures. There's an organic feel to the whole affair that comes through in the resonant, rootsy boy-girl vocals and the earthy percussion. Working with Real Estate and Widowspeak producer Kevin McMahon and Sharon Van Etten guitarist Doug Keith on Order of the Arrow, Blessed Feathers' intimate vibe opens up just enough, covering more ground than you might expect.

Motivational Jumpsuit is the latest, bestest release by reunited indierock (whatever that means) juggernaut (means an unstoppable force) Guided By Voices. It speaks in several silvery tongues, and like last year's English Little League takes many routes to the same shimmery, elusive destination: rock greatness. Its twenty songs (in thirty-eight minutes!) range from the shaggy Who Sell Out pop-pourri of "Evangeline Dandelion" to the lurching, rifferific "Planet Score," breezing briskly through every worthwhile rock und roll style sheet along the way. Pollard and co.'s influences are by now so thoroughly assimilated that Guided By voices referents are mostly to other Guided By Voices songs/eras: "Save The Company" calls to mind GBV's Bee Thousand/Alien Lanes lo-fi glory daze, while "Vote For Dummy" could be from Isolation Drills. For instance. Recent intramural turmoil aside (Guided By Voices has a long history of members qutting/getting fired/posting private correspondence online/waking up in the gutter), the band has never sounded more cohesive; when Tobin Sprout's insanely catchy feather-light confection "Record Level Love" bobs up against the deeply purple spray-paint rock of "I Am Columbus," which then pinballs into the elastic, sprightly "Difficult Outburst and Breakthrough," the pacing and variety always seem to make some kind of higher sense, if only as an appeal to the senses. Motivational Jumpsuit is gangly, wordy, heavy, lovely, catchy, rocky, complexly simple, and better than almost any record you'll hear this year. This is the fifth record (in three years) by New Era GBV, and there will be more. This is not counting the eleventy-three solo albums/side projects frontman Robert Pollard has released under his own name and various proxies. The listener may be forgiven a certain degree of bewilderment at the sound feast spread before him, but rest assured, this is the result of hard labor by a restlessly inventive musical mastermind. You can dig in anywhere you like, but you will always come back for more. Like a star to every wandering bark, Guided By Voices is as constant as love. You can't say better than that.

On Seattle-based Pillar Point's self-titled debut album, the moody, melancholy electronica is the work of Throw Me the Statue founder Scott Reitherman. Far more intimate than anything he's done previously, Reitherman's personal struggles add lyrical depth to dance floor-ready beats and '...splices M83 and Washed Out with glorious results' The Line of Best Fit // Comparisons to artists as varied as Paul Simon and Elliott Smith. It's all in a day's work for the Bay Area's Pillar Point. The project of solo musician and electronic zeitgeist Scott Reitherman; the man himself admits that 'part of what steered me toward the textures and beats of dance music was the feeling of catharsis you can experience through dance.' Despite Pillar Point's fascination with dance music, to us this pop bonanza sounds more like the aforementioned Smith being hunted by a particularly aggressive Postal Service; fresh and vibrant, but also melancholy and prone to hysteria. A healthy slice of 80s synth also decorates Pillar Point's new track 'Eyeballs'. In keeping with this year's Tips for 2014; it's a solid entrance from a solo musician who ill more than likely impress over the course of the next twelve months.

"Understated" erscheint auf Collins eigenem AED Label und enthält 11 brandneue Songs, die grösstenteils Ende 2012 in den Londoner West Heath Studios mit einer Auswahl an exzellenten Studiomusikern (u.a. für Primal Scream, Pretenders, Dexys, Sex Pistols) aufgenommen und von Collins co-produziert wurden. Nach "Losing Sleep" (2010) ist "Understated" das zweite Album nach seinem Schlaganfall 2005, auf dem Collins mit unvermindertem Esprit und Leidenschaft britisches Songwriting mit Popappeal und Ohrwurmmelodien perfektioniert und ein weiteres, überaus angenehmes Album für das bevorstehende Frühjahr aus dem Ärmel schüttelt, bevor er sich nun den Arbeiten zu seinem Biopic "In Your Voice, In Your Heart", einem autobiografischen Film über sein Leben und seine Musik, widmen kann.

Zweieinhalb Jahre nach ihrem UK-Nummer-Eins-Album "Velociraptor!" veröffentlichen die britischen Superstars Kasabian am 6. Juni 2014 ihr mittlerweile fünftes Studioalbum. Der Longplayer, der von Gitarrist und Sänger Sergio Pizzorno im Alleingang produziert wurde, ist dabei buchstäblich die Summe seiner Einzelteile - zum Ausdruck gebracht wird dies u.a. im Albumtitel, der sich aus der Gesamtspielzeit der 13 Songs (von 48 Minuten und 13 Sekunden) ergibt: "48:13".
"48:13" ist dennoch unverkennbar Kasabian, ein faszinierendes Destillat ihres Trademark-haften Sounds. Es ist das Ergebnis einer fortwährenden Entwicklung und des musikalischen Experimentiergeistes einer Band, deren Karriere mittlerweile zehn Jahre und vier Alben umfasst.
Neben dem begehrten Headline-Slot beim Glastonbury-Festival am 29. Juni und ihrer längst ausverkauften Homecoming-Show in Leicester in der Woche zuvor (21. Juni) wird die Band auch bei zwei Festivals in Deutschland auftreten: bei "Rock im Park" und "Rock am Ring".

Ihr Comeback im Jahr 2011 war ein echter Triumphzug. Mit breiter Brust hatte die Band um Frontfrau Sandra Nasic die Bühne nach acht Jahren Album-Abstinenz betreten, um auf ganzer Linie abzuräumen: "Bel Air" enterte sensationell, als viertes Album in Folge, die Charts auf #1, meldete in kürzester Zeit Gold und brachte drei starke Singles hervor. Die Guano Apes, als eine der wenigen deutschen Bands dafür bekannt, auch im Ausland extrem erfolgreich zu sein, spielten ausverkaufte Tourneen in ganz Europa und ernteten überall Respekt.

2014 kommt das Quartett mit brandneuem Material und präsentiert gleich mit der ersten Single-Auskopplung "Close to the Sun" eindrucksvoll das Können und die Spielfreude einer Band, die über jeden Zweifel erhaben ist. "Close to the Sun" rauscht mit schweren Riffs, entschlossenen Drums und sphärischen Chören heran, um uns mitzunehmen in die Umlaufbahn der Guano Apes, die genau da weitermachen, wo sie aufgehört haben: ganz oben. "Close to the Sun" ist jetzt überall erhältlich und macht die Bahn frei für "Offline", das kommende neue Album der Apes, das am 2. Mai 2014 offiziell erscheint und jetzt vorbestellbar ist.

Eine Kalamazoo-Gitarre, ein tierisches Schlagzeug und ein paar Synthesizer-Tupfer aus Nerdywood treiben uns durch wilde Abenteuer mit hochmütiger Garagen-Rock-Rotzigkeit, reumütigen Powerpop-Schubidu-Chören und Bonaparte-typischem Sprechgesang in der Tradition von Napoleon XIV aus dem brodelnden Unterbewusstsein eines Rock&Roll-Verrückten. Erzählt werden wahre Geschichten aus dem kaiserlichen Rock&Roll-Nähkästchen: Herausforderungen der Polyamorie ("Two Girls"), die allmorgendliche Lust, die ganze Welt verklagen zu müssen ("I wannasuesomeone"), es wird auf der Couch gerappt - und zwar mit dem US-amerikanischen Freund und Hip-Hop-Psychologen Tim Fite über ewigen Selbstdarstellungszwang ("Me So Selfie"), man lädt ein zur kaiserlichen Party im eigenen Kopf ("Riot In My Head") und warnt vor dem kaiserlichen Haushalt als Ort, in dem trotz einer Armee von Bediensteten auch die meisten Unfälle passieren ("Washyourthighs"). Es gibt einen tollen Surf-Hit, der das ewige Wettrennen der Spermien um unsere Zukunft besingt ("May The Best SpermWin") und ein Lied über das uns immer wieder beschleichende Gefühl der Fremdheit auf dem eigenen Planeten ("Like an Umlaut in english"). Der eigentliche Hit des Albums aber ist "Into The Wild", ein ehrfürchtiger Knicks auf der Bühne des Lebens, in dem Vergangenheit und Zukunft auf uns alle lauert. Man muss in der Gegenwart nur mutig genug sein, diese Bühne einmal zu betreten. Ein Lied für die Ewigkeit! Aufgenommen und abgeschmeckt wurde Bonaparte von Andy Baldwin in New York, wo der Kaiser im letzten Jahr viel Zeit verbrachte, um zurück zu sich und seinen Songs zu finden. Die Schlagzeug-Spuren hinterließ der geniale New Yorker Drummer Christopher "PowPow" Powell.

'Elektrichka's Favourite Party Record ', the fourth album by The Projects, has been completed three years after his sudden death at the age of 37 in December 2011.



Lead vocalist and guitarist, Wilson (a former member of John Peel favourites Miss Mend and the Television Personalities) who had suffered from MS had begun recording the album, which he felt would be his most accomplished to date, with a vast array of talented and long term musician friends such as Mira Aroyo (Ladytron) - Vocals; Alex Lawton Mawdsley (Comet Sands) bass guitar; Dino Gollnick (Lightspeed Champion, The Beatings), Koichi Yamanoha (Grimm Grimm, Screaming Tea Party), Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre) - guitars ; Akihide Monna (Mon Chan - Bo Ningen) drums.



Sadly Graeme never saw the album completed, but everyone involved thought it would be a fitting tribute that it was finished and a few months after his funeral they went about the task of putting the recordings together. The results are remarkable and 'Elektrichka's Favourite Party Record' is a truly inspiring piece of work. Thirteen tracks, mastered by Paul Jones (Stolen Recordings), the album includes the forthcoming single 'Set A Course For The Stars' and captures the perfectly formed skewed pop that Wilson and The Projects had been crafting over the years.



Tracks such as 'I Have To Use Words', 'Emma Nutt', 'I'm Learning Chinese', 'A&E / ITU', 'Anne Is A Socialist' and 'I'm In LLLLLove' are the sort of catchy, Krautrock and electronic tunes that The Projects and their contemporaries such as Stereolab, Quickspace, Broadscast and more recently The Horrors excel.

The psych/kraut heroes behind Les Big Byrd: Joakim Ahlund (Caeasars) Teddybears STHLM), Nino Keller (The Slaves, Ceasars), Frans Johansson (Fireside) och Martin Ehrencrona has teamed up with no less then Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) this time. Hoga Nord Rekords loves the sounds from the hypnotic and psychotic single They Worshipped Cats. The B-side Indus Waves delivers that highly produced krautsound that we know you'll love not only when you're getting close to the peak on the weekend but also on your avarage dull day. Don't sleep on this one!

The duo behind the transpop krautish sound of Pistol Disco consists of Alexander Palmestal And Mikael Enqvist who lives in Berlin and Gothenburg. After four released albums including the critically acclaimed Evergreen the duo only recorded two more songs: Bad Wisdom and Egypt. Hoga Nord Rekords sets the standard with these two darlings who wants to psych the sanity away from your brain while dancing to the hypnotic discobeat.

Catchy und mit eigenem Sound, aber sehr eingängig beweist das Psych-Pop-Trio Beaty Heart direkt aus dem Herzen Londons, dass sie auch ohne große Produzentennamen stimmige Sounds erzeugen können und erinnern dabei ab eine Mischung früherer Songs von Animal Collective oder Vampire Weekend - mit ebenjener Leichtigkeit, aber gleichzeitigen Liebe zu Experimenten und surrealistischen Klängen. Noch ganz jung und frisch kommt ihr Debüt daher, singen sie doch von ihren Erfahrungen mit der Phase der Adoleszenz bei gleichzeitigem Festhalten an jugendlichen Ideen. Doch schwermütig kommt ihr Sound in keiner Sekunde daher - es ist Frühling und mit Beaty Heart kann der dann nun auch wirklich kommen.

Catchy und mit eigenem Sound, aber sehr eingängig beweist das Psych-Pop-Trio Beaty Heart direkt aus dem Herzen Londons, dass sie auch ohne große Produzentennamen stimmige Sounds erzeugen können und erinnern dabei ab eine Mischung früherer Songs von Animal Collective oder Vampire Weekend - mit ebenjener Leichtigkeit, aber gleichzeitigen Liebe zu Experimenten und surrealistischen Klängen. Noch ganz jung und frisch kommt ihr Debüt daher, singen sie doch von ihren Erfahrungen mit der Phase der Adoleszenz bei gleichzeitigem Festhalten an jugendlichen Ideen. Am 28. Februar erscheint mit "Glorious" endlich das heiß ersehnte Debütalbum des britischen Electro-Pop-Shootingstars Foxes. Die 24-jährige Sängerin und Songwriterin, die einst als Louisa Rose Allen im südenglischen Southampton das Licht der Welt erblickte, konnte sich in den vergangenen Wochen mit verschiedenen Veröffentlichungen in den US- und UK-Charts platzieren. Nachdem sie der Single "Clarity" des Lady Gaga-Produzenten Zedd (u.a. The Black Eyed Peas, Skrillex) die Stimme geliehen hatte (Top Ten in den Billboard Charts, Grammy-ausgezeichnet, Top 30 in UK), erreichte ihre eigene Single "Youth" Platz zwölf in Großbritannien. Mit "Let Go For The Night" liegt nun die nächste Auskopplung aus "Glorious" vor, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Jessie Ware-Partner Kid Harpoon entstanden war und nun vom französischen Remix-Genie Fred Falke (Gossip, Ellie Goulding, U2, Annie etc.) überarbeitet wurde.

Lady Lazarus is the solo project of Melissa Ann Sweat, a singer-songwriter, artist, and creative writer from San Jose, Calif. now living in Joshua Tree, CA, known for her enchanting and minimalist songs for mainly voice and piano. Her music touches on dream pop and experimental folk, and has been compared to Cat Power, Smog/Bill Callahan, Joanna Newsom, Grouper, and Daniel Johnston, among others, while nodding to composers like Philip Glass and Erik Satie.


Taken from the Sylvia Plath poem of the same name, Lady Lazarus began in 2008 when Melissa started teaching herself keyboard, and writing and recording songs while living in San Francisco. Inspired by a cross-country train trip, she moved to Savannah, Georgia in the fall of 2010 and toured along the East Coast and Southeast in support of her self-released debut.


Lady Lazarus received breakthrough press in 2011 for her debut album, Mantic, including a 7.8 review from Pitchfork, and praise from Stereogum, Beats Per Minute, and many others in the U.S. and abroad. On 2013, Lady Lazarus self-released her new album, All My Love In Half Light, to critical acclaim from Pitchfork, NPR, SPIN, Interview Magazine, Consequence of Sound, Beats Per Minute, and more. In March, she contributed a cover of Jason Molina's "Don't It Look Like Rain" to Graveface Records' tribute album to the late Molina, featuring covers by Mark Kozelek, Will Oldham, John Vanderslice, Scout Niblett, Phil Elverum, Damien Jurado, and other artists.

Imagine DyE aka Juan de Guillebon as an advanced receptor transmitter of melodies and sounds for the young generation. When music - from the seventies to 2015, from Bruce Springsteen to Daphni - travels through him it's processed by filters, hardware living machines and magical organs, to become new music. Music that seems to describe a trance towards the stars and the future, where the future is to awake vocations and dreams - straight from his home-studio « à la Jamaicaine » as he likes to call it.

DyE's music belongs to epic quests. You're Link, the little knight in Zelda, smashing archetypal sounds in Detroit, Robocop listening to Ah-Ah in the jungle, Albator meeting dolphins in a subaquatic Paris.

In the first level, his debut album TAKI183, you were experiencing the transition from childhood to adulthood. With COCKTAIL CITRON, you'll find multiple love - may it be in a pill or with a French girl as the title track sums it perfectly well.

Like a resonance of his work as a remixer or as a bass player with Joakim, Bot'Ox, Aladdin, Rachid Taha and many more, this record is also about free encounters. May DyE be a solo project, may Juan know how to sing (Downlovers, Steel Life), he's making a point in inviting people from other dimensions to expand the spectrum of words and sound (legendary Egyptian Lover on She's Bad, Angie David on Cocktail Citron, Guillaume Teyssier - as a faithful author from DyE's debut - on Downlovers and Steel Life etc.).

MannGold de Cobre ontstond in 2011 toen de Handelsbeurs zijn schouders onder het idee zette om de band MannGold te helpen uitbreiden met 8 blazers. Samen met Peter Vermeersch werd er geschreven en gearrangeerd, hetgeen uitmondde in een volstrekt nieuw en origineel geluid, een kosmische punk big band met 2 drums, 2 gitaren en 8 blazers, die met een immense energie zweeft kolkt raast en dendert tussen jazz, kraut, herrie, lieflijke scapes, film noire, Sun Ra en trance.


De band speelde een reeks concerten (Vooruit, Beurs, Boomtown, Gent Jazz,...) die gesmaakt werden door zowel het jazz publiek en pers als door het jonge lawaaiminnende publiek; een geslaagde cross-over. Hierdoor aangemoedigd besloot MannGold DC op te nemen, en dit in de Vantage Point Studio van dEUS. Met 13 in 1 ruimte, tegelijk, zonder overdubs. Het resultaat is dus deze plaat.

MannGold, de moedergroep - Rodrigo Fuentealba (gitaar), Philipp Weies (gitaar), Karel de Backer (drums), Matthias Standaert (drums) en Maarten Standaert (bas) -, ontstond in 2008 en hield en houdt zich ledig met energieke stukken instrumentale muziek, met één been Kraut, psychedelia en tribale ritmiek en een ander been in noise, impro, repetitiviteit en minimalisme. En punkrock, MC5 en Motorhead. Door de energieke intense concerten kreeg MannGold snel een following, die gestaag groeit en blijft groeien.

TOO TANGLED are an indie-wave-rock duo hailing from Ghent, Belgium. Roeland Vandemoortele (Vox, Guitar, Drumbeats) and Eva Buytaert (Vox, Violin, Keys) formed Too Tangled 5 years ago, and have since released their debut album 'The Magic Got Killed' (2010, a.o. nr 1 in OOR magazine underground top 5) and their 2nd album 'Where the echoes die' (2012, a.o. Best of spring 2013 De Standaard) both to much 'Hail&Praises' of the European press.

Their singles have been picked up by many cool College-radio's, aswell as national stations. A.o. Roeland and Eva (TT) have been touring through Europe most of the past 14 months with their album 'Where the echoes die'. After spending the last 48.000 km in their Van, 83 shows and watching the concrete fly by underneath them, playing full venues and great shows, but also, sometimes giving the best of themselves for 10 people, beating it up every time, and crashing in hotel rooms for a couple of hours of sleep before driving off to the next gig...
... Restless going after that one moment where time is nonexistent... They had the urge to make this new album.

Op zijn derde album Ballroom Blitz keert Zool. (aka Gerry Vergult) terug naar zijn eerste muzikale liefde, de gitaar. In de acht stukken op dit album vormt die dan ook de leidraad voor deze nieuwe excursie door het immer uitdeiende universum van Zool.

En deze keer kan er in dat universum ook schaamteloos gedanst worden. De psychofunk van Impossible Boogie of de woestijndub van Mutant Chaabi zullen niet misstaan op de betere dansvloer. Maar ook de andere titels ontlenen hun bestaansrecht aan hun dansbaarheid, ook al moet je dat begrip dan wel heel breed interpreteren.

De warme melancholie (in stukken als Rumba Galbani of Frantic Waltz) die ook Zool.'s twee vorige albums kenmerkte is immers ook hier ruimschoots aanwezig, terwijl aan de andere kant van het spectrum een track als Sonic Tango duidelijk verwant is aan Vergult's (als Fred Angst) hardere werk bij Aroma Di Amore.

Ballroom Blitz komt uit op vinyl op Vynilla Records. De digitale release (I-Tunes, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon, Google, enz..) is in handen van Kinky Star Records. Het album wordt gereleased op Record Store Day (19 april 2014) en die dag zijn er 200 gelimiteerde en genummerde exemplaren te koop met nog vier exclusieve, onuitgegeven bonustracks er bovenop! De distributie is in handen van NEWS.

"Someday World" enthält neun Songs, gemeinsam komponiert und eingesungen von Eno und Hyde, mit einer beeindruckenden Liste von Gastmusikern und -vokalisten wie Tessa Angus, Nell Catchpole, Marianna Champion, Will Champion, Kasia Daszykowska, Don E., Darla Eno, Georgia Gibson, Andy Mackay, John Reynolds, Fred Gibson und Chris Vatalaro. Das Album wurde von Brian Eno mit dem erst 20-jährigen Fred Gibson produziert, und führt die schon länger währende musikalische Kooperation zwischen Karl und Brian fort, die 2009 mit dem "Pure Scenius" Projekt begann, an dem auch Leo Abrahams, Jon Hopkins und die australischen The Necks teilnahmen, und nun in dem ersten gemeinsamen Album überhaupt kumuliert. "Someday World" erscheint als CD, 2CD Special Edition im Mediabook mit 4 zusätzlichen Bonustracks, als 2LP mit Downloadcode (Standard und in limitierter Auflage mit Kunstdruck) und als Download.
