New school Italian techno sensation Alignment is back with a third thrilling EP for on Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT label that once again stands him apart.

Alignment's previous outings on the label - the Time EP in April 2020, then his Nothingness EP in November 2020 - made huge impacts. They are standout techno offerings from a young and exciting artist who has quickly risen to the top. He has remained hugely busy in the last 12 months with a wide-ranging sound that takes in everything from old school bangers to trance-tinged rollers via futuristic workouts.

Says label boss Charlotte de Witte, "Alignment's music has been strongly represented in all my livestreams of 2020 and 2021 and I honestly can't wait to finally bring his music and his latest creations on Power EP to the dancefloor. It's made to make you move and I'm very happy to have him on board once again!“

The artist himself adds, "The vibes we shared pre-pandemic on our beloved dance-floors inspired me a lot to create Power EP. I tried to focus on effective and highly energetic, peak-time techno weapons for KNTX011. Signature synths, big stabs and kicks following only one formula - no compromise and four to the floor.”

First up is Power, a high octane track with hard drums, slamming bass and bright synths that cannot fail to get hands in the air. The excellent 'Disconnection' has laser-like synths shooting across the face of the track while big, edgy trance stabs light up the barreling drums from way up above. 'Frequency' is another trance-influenced track that brings peak time energy to stomping and distorted drums. It is an emotive rollercoaster that never lets up and will make a mark on even the biggest dance floors. Last of all is 'Radioactivity' which has scuffed metal textures, crashing drums and strobe-lit synth lines that will turn every party into a rave.

Bart Skils and Weska extend their musical partnership, linking for the superb ‘Torn Clouds’. The duo shares a special sonic kinship, collaborating regularly for outstanding results. From ‘Shades of Summer’, to ‘Polarize’ and ‘Something More’, the duo balance rhythmic flair with timeless melodies for euphoric results. Their fourth offering is no less memorable. ‘Torn Clouds’ rides on a wave of rolling grooves and uplifting melodic tension, capturing the moment the storm clears and euphoria rushes in. It’s accompaniment ‘Dusk till Dawn’ is a late-night anthem built for the long haul — hypnotic, wandering, and made to move the night into light. Finally, the long-awaited repress of this tech-house banger by French producer Bobby Parker from ’03. A real classic from DJ Francesco Del Garda. The B-side comes from another sick release on the label, this time with Mogcha. It’s a straight-up electro-house heater, perfect to get that dancefloor hyped. Antinote’s also planning to reissue some of the Monster Funky catalog in the next monthes. Stay tuned!

Towering dub techno titan Brendon Moeller takes care of the 10th EP from Fossils Records and does so with a typically excellent six-track. The New York-based South African has long since mastered the art of space and restraint in his music and that's laid bare again here. 'Motion' has sinewy electronics and warped bass making for a fuller cut than you might expect from him. 'Disko Inferno' is a jumble of percussion and fizzy synth warmth and 'Habitual Ritual' then sinks into deep, dusty and ritualistic rhythms. 'Apparatus' is Moller's refined take on deep jungle and there are dancehall mutations on 'Samurai Steps' and serene deep space trips on 'Meltdown', making this one of his most varied EPs.

Sekhem returns with a beautiful split EP bringing together two artists with distinct yet complementary worlds. On the A-side, Charlou delivers three slow and textured tracks, blending ambient with retro atmospheres, to create a deep, cinematic intro. Swedish DJ/Producer Christian Nielsen debuts on Maceo Plex's Ellum imprint with the ‘Love Struck’ EP this May.

The four track EP continues a strong start to 2020 with releases from Raxon and Avision and, true to the label’s form, is all about weighty, characterful cuts from Nielsen, an artist who has previously chalked up releases for the likes of Kompakt, Of Unsound Mind and Play it Down.

The titular opener of ‘Love Struck’ is a swaggering, low slung affair with a growling bassline underpinning a pitch shifted vocal refrain and piercing rave stabs - a mutant beast which fuses techno, Garage and rave aesthetics in anthemic style. The skeletal rhythms and gritty acid flair of ‘For Myself’ follow in a track that, through some nifty builds, manages to pull off a big room energy as much as it does a basement vibe. ’Switch’ is next up and, with a rock solid groove, vocal sample and subaquatic tones, displays just how well Nielsen can create a monster with few elements. The heaviest track, ‘Pulse’, rounds off ‘Love Struck’ with a huge, padding kick drum and resonant percussive lead doing the heavy lifting while counterpointed by judiciously employed warm, cossetting jazz flute licks

Cirkle returns to Sublunar, Sciahri's label, following the success of Sonic Surge, with a new EP that showcases both refinement and immense talent. This release encapsulates Cirkles distinct sound and artistic evolution, offering a rich and immersive sonic journey.

The EP opens with Shadows of the Past, a track driven by a pulsating, groovy synth line and dynamic drum patterns that propel the rhythm forward. It seamlessly transitions into Beaten, a dark, hypnotic piece that envelops the listener in a shadowy atmosphere.
The B-side begins with Shamanic, a track that pays homage to a more classic techno sound while maintaining an irresistible, steady groove. Following this, The Wall That We Build offers a more delicate and minimalistic approach, balancing precision and subtlety. The journey concludes with Tears of Light, an epic and transcendental piece that takes the listener to another dimension.

Fully seasoned Italian techno architect Claudio PRC loves Lee "Scratch" Perry and more electronic-leaning deep smiths such as Chain Reaction and Basic Channel who have influenced him over the years and now bring those vibes to the fore. 'Submerged' is immediately horizontal and glacial in pace, with pads that are just and pure and an energy that is impossibly cathartic. The Version on the flip drops in some gentle drums that bring a soft forward momentum. Two lovely excursions.
