THE GOOPY GOONS ARE BACK with another collection of twisted American electronics. For those not familiar, CP/BW is a collaboration between Corporate Park (aka Shane English/Jonah Lange) and Beau Wanzer. This second LP collects tracks from various recording sessions done in Texas over the past 5 years. Humid ditties, bumpkin beats, toothless treats, and only for the freaks.

"Torimimasataka" is an experimental sound- and visual artist,
based in Osaka, Japan, and the latest addition to The Weevil Neighbourhood's artist roster. The label "ZOCSOF", which was also produced by him, contain seven pieces of dub and noise fueled breakbeat experiments, highly dense in composition, cryptically abbreviated in title.

Coletivo Vandalismo kick-start a new 12" series for the Contort Yourself label. Hailing from the city of Porto the duo also DJ under the name GAM and released their debut LP on Lake Haze's Eye For An Eye label. Their music has an immediacy that seems to stem from a background in live performance as opposed to polished studio sessions - an improvisational punk aesthetic that manages to carry this EP so strongly. Wild, crashing fx and unrecognisable vocal distortions layer atop wonky 90bpm drum machine grooves and the pair even show off what may be their turntablism skills on 'Zombie Zombie'. There's a nod to early concrete on the closing track 'Black Sun's Demise' with whirring, mechanical noise motifs suddenly jolting us into punishing gabber-at-33-minus-8 territory. The DIY spirit is alive and well here and the feeling that things could fall apart at any minute just adds to the tension.

"MUSAR" is excited about the return of MANASYt - Bulgaria's electro-synth pioneer, for ’Inferior Subjects', a new album, bubbling with madness and loaded with darkwave sounds. The 2nd part of MANASYt's lost tracks series, recorded between 2000's to 2010's and found in his old PC.

For his second release on MUSAR, Petar Tassev collected some of his best unreleased works to date, inspired by metal and new-wave music then interpreting the moody, roughness to a raw, pure and dark adventure, like no one else does. After taking off from earth with Space being the destination of exploration, J Shaw ascends levels of galaxies as a renegade living in time by his own rules. After making it through the large Lines Of Galactic Bass, he is able to peacefully sail through space and relax a while before finding a good spot to clear for inhabitation. Able to view the different structures of his current position in space, he notices flights of Neurons in the Galaxy. LANER FAX (aka Franck Gérard) is coming back with a repress of his two Leftfield-ish electro, UK influenced dance tracks.

To kick-start Artificial Dance's 2018 release programme, the label has once again delved deep into the darkest corners of the Dutch electronic underground. The result is a debut solo EP from another future hero, Hague-based Pasiphae.
Born in Greece, Pasiphae took up DJing and music production when she moved to the Netherlands five years ago. By 2016, she was confident enough to hold her own in the studio with Intergalactic Gary, with the resulting collaborative 12', Made of Glass, winning praise for its floor-rocking rhythms and throbbing electronic instrumentation.

The Siphax EP, her first solo outing, is arguably even better. Packed with mutant alien funk (the superb title track), horror-fired dancefloor dystopia (throbbing opener Tachynons') and skewed electronic soundscapes ( Vertical Rotation', which sounds like it could have been taken from the soundtrack of an early '80s art-house movie), the six tracks offer a neat summary of Pasiphae's unique musical world.

Check out, in particular, the two-part murkiness and late night hum of Quelque Chose De Mauvais' and Quelque Chose De Mal', which are creepy and clandestine in equal measure. If that's not enough to set the pulse racing, turn your attention to EP closer Hedera', a beat-less but rhythmic romp through muggy, psychedelic pastures.

Employing a toolkit of cutting-edge DSP, Swarm Intelligence reimagines classic rave frameworks for dancefloors of the future. "Ultraware" traces a path through electro, big beat, jungle and acid - optimising and reconstructing until only fragmented traces remain. Following up from his widely acclaimed "Against the Dying Light" album, this EP marks a new shift in the ever-evolving Swarm Intelligence sound. A relentless explorer of audio technology, here he utilizes spectral processing alongside convolution and granular synthesis to craft a gritty sonic repository for the four tracks. Even in moments when the sequences disintegrate into chaos before reassembling into a coherent form, there is never a feeling that Swarm Intelligence is not in full control - this is an artist who thrives on complexity.

A frustration with trends, hype and the system itself that permeates our current society has influenced LDWG to create ‘Hyperidiocracy’, an in-depth, aural analysis on the modern world in the form of a frenzied, fractured recollection of club influences from the past 20 years.

An angry dozen of tracks that shift genres and form, LDWG switches from mangled 80's to jungle-era drops to what sounds like porn heard through a walkie talkie faster than you can like a selfie on Instagram.

Ever since dropping her critically-acclaimed debut LP Online Dating through Central Processing Unit back in 2017, Tryphème (Tiphaine Belin) has marked herself out as one of the more unique voices in contemporary electronica. We mean that literally - Belin's productions are characterised by frequent use of vocals, either processed to provide atmosphere or deployed high in the mix as passages of singing/spoken word. When these are wedded to her typically deft electronic productions the results are lush, atmospheric and moving.

Two years on from Online Dating and Tryphème has returned to CPU with the six-track Aluminia EP. While Online Dating leaned into a range of rave styles, Aluminia is more painterly, with Belin putting greater emphasis on timbre and texture. 'Lava', 'Fey' and 'Cry Silent Cry' are some of the most innovative tracks Belin has produced to date.

While another producer would allow listeners to luxuriate in such warm synth tones, Belin doesn't let you get comfortable, constantly surprising you with innovative structural choices or unexpected sounds. The way in which 'Lava' is agitated by chattering voices and processed singing recalls both the uncanniness of Holly Herndon and the maximalism of A. G. Cook, while the synth line that snakes through 'Cry Silent Cry' nods to Lorenzo Senni's recent trance deconstructions. Beats and bass take precedence in Aluminia's midsection.

This is the portion of the record which most closely recalls Online Dating - 'Eedyu' and 'X-Ray Mantra' are more settled than the other cuts on Aluminia, and it's here that the 90s electronica influences that so often inform CPU's output are most keenly felt. Those who enjoyed Bochum Welt's recent Seafire full-length - itself another CPU drop - will be able to get behind these tunes.

The two sides of Aluminia are combined in penultimate number 'In A Cyber Spiral'. The track's eerie beginning, with its ghostly vocals and nagging drums, is reminiscent of Hype Williams. Soon things morph into a leftfield digi-dub replete with speaker-crushing sub. Halfway through Belin wrong-foots us again, cleverly flipping the drums from half-time to a kind of fluttering breakbeat. It's the most diverse and unique production in a record full of them, drawing on everything from IDM to Eskibeat, and a track which furthers Tryphème's status as an exciting new artist on the European electronics scene.

From underground Russia comes LVRIN's second release on Pinkman Broken Dreams. 6 jams for the freaks - stripped to the bone, with minimum fuss and maximum attitude.

Emerging from the vibrant underground scene in Ukraine, Yansima’s sound takes inspiration from Romanian minimal techno and the skippy drums and deep bass of garage. After a number of tracks and vinyl only EP’s for underground labels in this scene he now steps up to R&S for a three track EP of interpretations of this sound.

Culled from the vast 90s archives of Brooklyn DJ and producer Adam X, these four tracks demonstrate the early experimentations of the 90s NYC acid rave scene. Tracks tailor made by the djs for the ravers, pushing acid extremes and decimating minds. A document of a time when experimentation and freedom reigned the scene.

This record includes four tracks exclusive to this 12 inch and not on the LP. Remastered at Dadub Mastering. One time pressing limited to 300 copies.

Stellar full-length album selection of archival material from Tim Jackiw ranging from timeless late night techno and deep space soundtracks through to electronic jazz and ambient atmospheres. All music sequenced and recorded in Tim's Adelaide-based bedroom studio between 1995 to 1997 using an Amiga 500 interfaced to various analog synthesizers, drum machines and samplers. 03 is the magic number, as Orbital London supply their UK flavour once again. Chief instigator Jack Michael leading the way for the ‘Forever With Violet’ EP, accompanied by tasteful beat maker, Desert Sound Colony who provides the remix.
Booting off with his ‘Badbwoi Sound’, Jack Michael fires up the EP the only way he knows how. Spiralling baselines, and clinical garage drums, making this one a dance floor winder. The reggae vocal sample working wonders for the heads out there.
Coming in with a slightly more stripped back affair on the A2 is Desert Sound Colony’s interpretation of the lead track, allowing the elements from the original to breathe life in to a steady driven dub heavy record, a man in fine form of recent times.
Flipping it over to the B is a murky number, aptly entitled ‘Menace’ that familiar sound from Michael with a slightly more ravey edge, making this one of his most lively productions this far. Set to rumble through a sound system near you and do some damage.
Elastic bass, and hazy pads in ‘On the Block’ put the EP to rest perfectly, transcending you to a dream like state with flourishing chords. Again the sample use is on point from the talented producer, it keeps you grounded with the track. Again, a vital EP for the garage and dub faces out there, the Orbital London crew providing modern day records with that old school sound loved by many.

The 7th release of the series brings back some sweetness and emotional melodies to the rooster. ReKaB got deep!!

From those early days on Bonzai, Yves has been at the forefront, dishing out countless tracks under his own name and a host of guises and collaborations. Still rocking the scene today, producing and DJing for the masses, he has surpassed 35 years as a DJ and it doesn’t look like he will be stopping anytime soon. Animals… (Remix) saw a release on Yves’ 1993 cut titled simply, II - which came shortly after its original counterpart in 1992. This record was the epitome of the sound of the era, a sound championed by the fledgling Bonzai and its dedicated troupe of artists. Hoover synths, frantically pulsing and sweeping against a full-on thumping beat and chaotic percussion arrangement. What more could anyone have wanted in a strobe filled club or arena, a mighty track no doubt. Yves then gave us Calling Earth in 1994 which was the A-side to IV (backed with Rave City). The track opened with that hollow tube sound laced with bright hats, leading to a solid, pounding beat and then on to that infectious melody line. This one quickly rose to mega status among throngs of ravers and DJ's. A string of remixes followed as well as multiple releases over the years making this the ultimate classic.

Greville returns to Mad Habitat with a new EP, which, like his EP, continues to thrive in the liminal space in between club jams and living room fare. Elements unfurl through the track’s spacious dub-house sonics, as Greville synthesises all sorts of uncannily natural sounds, further blurring the organic and synthetic textures that characterise their music. The music combines the space-faring heights of B12 with the sonics of the jungle, undersetting the bouncy drum programming with gorgeous, celestial pads and field recordings. The drum tracks are tempered by the more melodic and textural foils; it’s music that invites you to dance.

Los Angeles based Principleasure releases his debut LP 'I (One)' on 30th April to critical acclaim. 'An enthralling debut album' according to Mixmag who promptly made it their Album of the Month, 'A brilliantly crafted debut album' proclaim Future Music Magazine and 'Brooding with icy contempt' say Electronic Sound in their full page review. With festival support from DJs as diverse as Dixon and AME to A-Trak, 'I' comes hot off the back of 3 EPs released in 2018, with videos from Hirad Sab (Sevdaliza) and Yoshi Sodeoka (Digitalism), support from BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac) and KCRW (Mario Cotto).

Frank Bean aka "The Classic Mutha Fucka" first hit the decks in the early 90's and has since then built up his audience through his own parties and very memorable classic electro DJ sets at the world renowned Killekill parties in Berlin.

Detroit Techno has inspired him throughout the years and that is noticeable in his productions under the moniker "The Almost People" and his new project "The Classic MuthaFucka”. The likes of Funk, Hip Hop and early Detroit Techno have helped him train his ear. What to expect from a Classic Mutha Fucka set? The perfect marriage of sound scapes blended with electro and hip hop that mutate every so softly into a zone that scrapes the surface of sex and nerdism. His delivery is ever so subtle to the musical ear and that of the listener/party goer. You must expose yourself to a full Bean set in order to experience the Tension that builds ever so subtlety. The ears and feet will tremble as will the mind and soul.

Shanghai-based music producer HUAN HUAN （aka Diamond Lil) is releasing her first 12” EP “One Big Bug” in Ran Music’s sub-label Ran Groove in November. The EP includes 3 dance tracks with influences from Electro, Industrial and Techno music. There’s also a remix from her good friend Fishdoll. Being deeply involved in Shanghai’s club scene, HUAN HUAN’s debut EP is a re-interpretation of her aesthetic towards club music. Her usual deep and exquisite sounds have turned into a more minimalistic and industrial direction which you can hear in the classic Electro grooves, aggressive modern sub-frequency sound design and random industrial noise in the background. The listener can find the trail of the modern techno direction as well as feel the smell of an electro revival, together with Fishdoll’s contrasting flavor remix, presenting us this amazing EP.

HUAN HUAN（aka Diamond Lil) is an independent music producer and DJ living in Shanghai. She’s one of the most appearing figures in Shanghai’s club scene. As an excellent music producer, she produces music and remixes for many other artists in the scene. She’s good at creating deep atmospheric soundscapes with a cinematic feeling. Her delicate sounds are glued together into vibrating grooves, with the synth sounds from the 90s forming her secret weapon conquering people’s ear drums on dance floors. Benefiting from Shanghai’s advanced club scene, HUAN HUAN’s performance and music work have reached wider platforms and have caught the ears of many overseas acts and labels

We first came across the choir in 2017 when we booked them to play Caring Is Creepy in Margate. The choir was a new thing then and a little rough around the edges (I initially wondered if it was a cover for mid-week drinking by some of Margate’s mums, and for that I sincerely apologise).

It seemed like a nice idea to ask them to cover some Moshi Moshi songs to mark our 20th birthday celebrations but we never dreamed they would come out sounding as good as they have.

Much of the credit for that must go to the expert guidance of choir master Hughie Gavin who arranged and directed the recordings and took these songs in some deeply.

Originally released in 1972 for the sought after Gemelli imprint, Espressioni was credited to longtime Ennio Morricone partner and conspirator Bruno Nicolai, one of the most influential Italian composer in the heyday of film music and modern composition.

The maestro Morricone shows his persona between the folds of the record as well, revealing a common sense for obscure leanings in the tradition of avant-garde jazz and classic contemporary. Originally released in 1972 for the sought after Gemelli imprint, Espressioni was credited to longtime Ennio Morricone partner and conspirator Bruno Nicolai, one of the most influential Italian composer in the heyday of film music and modern composition.

The maestro Morricone shows his persona between the folds of the record as well, revealing a common sense for obscure leanings in the tradition of avant-garde jazz and classic contemporary. The many faces of the two composers are fully in charge through the 9 episodes of the release, such a chronological history akin to the common area of Italian psycho drama and cultish noir-exploitation short movies.

Song Cycle is delighted to present the first reissue of Wounds by David Toop and Paul Burwell. Originally released in 1980 on Toop’s Quartz! label, the album is representative of a seminal moment within the British music scene evolved around the London Musicians Collective in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

Founded in 1976 by a group of improvising musicians and sound artists including Evan Parker, Peter Cusack, Lol Coxhill, Sylvia Hallet, Max Eastley, the LMC contributed to shape a new generation of free improvisers with broader interests ranging from the music of John Stevens, Evan Parker, and Cornelius Cardew, to non-western music experiences.

David Toop and Paul Burwell came to know each other precisely in these crucial moments, to start a long-lasting collaboration on two separate but intertwined projects a trio with the artist and poet Bob Cobbing, and an improvisation duo. As result of the latter, the nine tracks included in Wounds are edited from a single performance at the LMC, date 30.6.1979.

Recorded by Max Eastley and Russ Wood, these shows saw the employment of different musical instruments as well an odd number of found objects placed in front of the artists, on the floor, ready to be picked up and played. Electric guitar, flute, cassette, water, rubbish, explosives, six strings harp, bamboo fiddle, whistle were only a few of the wider arrange of instruments at the disposal of the two.

The result is an ambivalent album, suspended between the unfolding of the time of performance, and the circularity of the ritual. And if the collage of texts appearing on the artwork demonstrates a certain disapproval and skepticism toward the progress of society, Wounds seems also suggesting a possible cure.

The improvised music, the use of non-canonical instruments, the presence of pre-recorded sounds coming, seems indeed to be an open invitation to the listeners to abandon the old conventions and to search for a new system of relationships.

Santiago Niño is an accomplished eclectic & conceptual electronic musician originally from Bogota Columbia, but based in Buenos Aires, with a deep discography of releases across a range of genres. The Techgnosis EP follows his debut Hermetics track 'Collider' as which impressed on it's release on R&S founder's RV Trax imprint in early 2018. Created in a low point following the sale of his professional studio, with the humble means of a laptop, mixer and set of basic monitors the realisation of this music reaffirmed Santiago's self belief that his talent extended beyond his need for gear.

This EP follows in the same footsteps as 'Collider'; mesmeric, pulsing techno with a rich musicality. Equally important to Santiago is his love of the visual arts: "This project has a really important connection with the audiovisual work, which i want to keep up, because i love cinema, i love the audiovisual arts, the abstract, experimental and poetic side of it, and thats why i always want to give that cinematic feel to my music.

As electronic musician Lorenz Brunner sketched his vision for the first Recondite full-length on Ghostly in five years he took a step back to assess who and where he was as an artist. 2013’s Hinterland accelerated a progression — he’s since been touring around the world and releasing music with labels such as Hotflush and his own Plangent Records — yet, for him, the album cast a shadow of pressure that widened over time. As with most art forms, perhaps especially music, there is an expectation to change, to creatively pivot elsewhere with each project. After careful consideration, Brunner rejects this notion with his new work, opting alternately to use the icy Hinterland as an aesthetic and tonal template for a like-minded map of evocative compositions aptly titled after the German word “stillstand,” now presented as Dwell.

“I am coherent with what I do, even if I’m not reinventing myself,” Brunner says contentedly. In regards to the album title, he adds, “It’s like when you’re on a hike and you stop and look at the scenery; you may know which path you want to go next but right now you are dwelling.” The title also doubles as a reference to everyday domestic life, a restorative haven for Brunner between tours. Like Hinterland, he incorporates a subtle range of field recordings to intensify the textural atmosphere. While he worked at home on “Mirror Games,” Brunner noticed the buzz coming from across the room, where his wife was using an electric toothbrush, naturally harmonized with the track. He decided to push that frequency further and record the device directly, syncing vibrations for added urgency across the propulsive piece as well as parts of the ambient “Interlude 2.”

Windswept, moody, and melodic, moments on Dwell linger with emotional resonance. The title track sends an eerie synth loop through a field of techno kicks. The beats recede for a breather four minutes in as if to survey the surroundings. If Brunner pivots anywhere — possibly just a new perspective afforded by being confidently stationary in his craft — it’s by leaning more into hip-hop structures. He’s an avid rap fan and his love for those production techniques is notably present on “Nobilia,” a queasy shuffler (titled in reference to the Super Nintendo game Secret of Evermore), “Interlude 1,” which skitters in lockstep with contemplative synth chords, and “Surface,” an isolatory, ruminative sequence. The closer “Moon Pearl” soothes and shimmers like its namesake, a cherished gem in The Legend of Zelda series that allows carriers of the gem to retain their shape and essence in the Dark World.

In an era where constant reinvention and highly self-reflexive brand awareness reigns supreme in the music industry, Brunner as Recondite does something many artists try to avoid, he dwells in his own established identity, one that has garnered him a devoted fanbase. His murky electronic productions, built around mirage-like pads and clipped drum programming, have proven to be highly functional and spectrally enveloping; Dwell is not a return to form, it is a further study of the shapes, it is the modes, and the structures Brunner has trademarked.

'Destiny71z' returns with his second EP for Eglo Records, a further dark and jazzy exploration through an array of analog hardware, focusing on the Buchla music easel and a stacked modular set up. Raw and unpredictable the EP fizzes and pops across 4 tracks, drawing on the influences of House, Techno, 2-Step and Electro, synthesizing it into something much harder to pigeonhole.

The project is the alter-ego of multi instrumentalist, painter and producer Mathew Kirkis, who recently supported Floating Points on his solo UK/EU live tour. These four dance floor meditations express
a talent well beyond the conventions of traditional club music, it's as much music for the mind as it is for the body.

Maceo Plex's Lone Romantic welcomes ManEater for a superb debut single that comes backed with a remix from the ever-excellent Alinka.

ManEater is a mysterious name with no online profile but an evocative sound that goes way beyond the dancefloor and well into the future. They make music that is much more than club fodder, instead cooking up cinematic and evocative landscapes.

The excellent 'Hurry On Up' is an expansive electro trip to the edges of the cosmos. Distant pads shimmer like forgotten planets, crisp claps and slick drums make for a frictionless groove that always keeps you moving and the ominous bass and soulful vocal cries finish the whole thing in real style.

Chicago native Alinka is enlisted to remix. She is known for her weird and idiosyncratic take on house on labels like Crosstown, Classic and her own Twirl and is one of the most exciting names in the current Windy City scene. Her fantastic version of 'Hurry On Up' is harder hitting, with tough drums and a lead arp that lights up the whole track with a late night menace.

This is classy electro that really makes a mark.

Jesse Kanda is a visual artist and musician widely known for his modern gothic surrealist art, especially his work with Björk, Arca,
and FKA twigs, and in recent years for his own musical output as Doon Kanda.

At Hyperdub, we are very excited by his transition into music; if there were a sound to his beautiful, otherworldly art, this is it in it's pure form. ‘Labyrinth’ is his debut album, comprised of 13 pieces of new music, and 10 artworks.

It is a dreamlike, exhilarating listen from start to finish, covering emotional ground from hell to heaven. It was created between summer 2018 and spring 2019 in London and Ontario. His two previous EPs 'Heart' (2017) and 'Luna' (2018) focused on melody across a spectrum of emotion, and like his visual work often metamorphosed pain into beauty. 'Labyrinth' chronicles a period of loss, in ecstatic fantasy.

Stylistically, much of the album is in 3/4 time signature in rhythms reminiscent of waltz, allowing Kanda to create movement through melody. This idiosyncratic gothic style was hinted at in his first EP, and is in full bloom here. It is also a proposition of a new form of club music; one can imagine venues transformed into an alien world, where the music moves the crowd in previously unknown ways.
The album has a narrative arc of building chaos, peaking with ‘’Mino’, then a resolve of clarity at ‘Bunny’.

After his outing at the beginning of 2018, Amrint Keen (an alias of Lake People reserved for his rawer, broken and more experimental productions) is following up on Uncanny Valley with a new EP. And boy, nobody else does dance tracks so unpretentious, but still demanding. Oscillating between house and electro rhythms, the tracks once again show his midas touch of combining subtlety and fun on the dance floor. A track like TRANSIENT LOSS OF RESPONSE explores the corners of urban landscapes and finds melancholy, but also a pumping urgency for the club. MAYBE IT WON'T BE comes with a pretty funny but throughout stable track architecture consisting of many different toy blocks disguised as sounds. DOOZY OF A DAY is indeed a doozy of a track that maybe just fell in love considering the infatuated synths. And also CREPUSCULAR can't hide its romantic qualities after an abrupt start with impetuous drumming. As with the first Amrint Keen record, the artwork comes from Murat Oenen, a painter born in Istanbul and now a graduate at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts.

As his best known alias - Carl Finlow has dropped yet another electro masterpiece on the Spanish label, Fanzine Records.

Expect an EP full of transformational, industrial like synths combined with the electro rhythms that Carl s career has come to define.
His gated melodies and groovy hard-hitting drums make this EP something ethereal, with raw and industrial sounds swarming in and out of every track.

Gains is the first track of the EP, which instantly teleports us back into the world of electro. The warping melody of gated synths gives the impression that the track is the embodiment of metamorphosis.
Black Ice s melody is a lot more raw, where the track almost sets the stage for a dystopian battle between animal-like reverbs and echoed chants. It ends with a more ambient melody which overcomes the track in its aura and mood.

As the EP moves on to Expos, the grizzly baseline, succinct hats, and distorted and sharp synths give the effect of malfunctioning terabytes; almost as if the natural elements were to react with an electronic environment. Obscura's beat seems to bring the speed of the EP right down, as it s mystical melody is obscured from the gritty baseline and kick. It's mechanical and distant sounds lurk in the background of the track, which gives a sense of oncoming doom.

This EP can be described as no other than a symphony of sounds that energetically communicate with each other at every level.

Cai Bojsen-Møller co-founded the original Multiplex imprint and released his debut solo album A Bit of Something on the label in 1996. Cai is an accomplished drummer and his acoustic talents shine through in his electronic work and 909 skills. Out of the circuit for fifteen years, he now returns in stunning form!

Released as a two part EP, this is the second half of "The Spirit of Man and Machine". The idea behind which, evolved around the point where organic elements meet and elevates the programmed part of the music. Much music today is completely quantized, but to make things flawless, risks the loss of feeling to digital perfection. Emerging from the Danish rock scene in the early 80's, correctness was nothing to strive for. With the formula of analog synths through an analog mixer and the drums and sequences recorded live, with a mindset for the right vibe, Cai's new tracks ties in well with his 1990's productions.

Mark Broom returns to Multiplex to deliver his “Skank Mix” of Cai’s “Decomp” track, which Broom has churned into a massive, deep, thumbing, dub-techno tune. This is followed by the original version - a timeless example of chord-driven, minimalistic techno. On the flip side we find the beautiful melodies of the melancholic “FaxImprov”, before rounding things of with Skudge, who has remixed the track, resulting in his great signature sound for the dark floor.

When John Selway brought his dancing hands to the keyboard to begin work on his first full EP on Serotonin Records since ‘Zoids Vol 2’ in 1998, he channelled cosmic soul to create the next generation of intergalactic funk. Delsin are pleased to gather together some of the highlights from the rich and varied catalogue of Manchester-based producer Claro Intelecto. From his earliest works on Ai Records through a prolific run on Modern Love to his more recent outings on Delsin, Mark Stewart has continually presented a vision of electronic music that uses the Detroit blueprint as a launch pad for his own distinctive strain of techno. Moving from elegant beauty to rabid intensity while grounded by a firm sense of rhythm, his catalogue runs deep and wide. This expansive compilation filters out select highlights from across his discography, and reframes them as a compelling overview of a truly distinctive voice in modern electronic music.

The mostly anonymous producer FSS joins Veyl with ‘MMXX_FFS’, a collection of nine raw, mangled numbers that manage to make lo-fi sound hi-fi. Built in moments stolen from working with DIY punk bands and artists producing for Warp, UNO, True Panther, Lucky Me and Tri Angle.... Originally from New Mexico, now living in London, with NYC on the horizon, FSS is no newcomer, and this isn’t your usual debut.
Inspired by a need to release the rage and disillusionment brought on by the extreme shit show the world has become, the writing of ‘MMXX_FSS’ — “it’s nearly 2020, for fuck’s sake” — doubled as a cathartic process for the artist, providing much-needed relief from the constant struggle of living on this planet.

Daniel Avery has announced details of the release of his debut album. Drone Logic will be released through Phantasy/Because Music on Monday 7th October 2013. The 12 track album was written and produced since the turn of 2013 and mixed with Erol Alkan at 'The Phantasy Sound', the label's own studio in London.

A difficult trick to master but like Carl Craig's 'More Songs About Food And Revolutionary Art', Plastikman's 'Consumed' or more recently the work of Four Tet, the album works as a cohesive whole rather than a disparate collection of tracks.

Innovative and forward thinking, Drone Logic manages to draw influences from beyond the dancefloor via My Bloody Valentine, NEU! and Chris Carter while still having the techno pulse to scale the walls of any club. The wide array of plaudits and early adopters of Avery's music is proof of this, ranging from acid house legends like The Chemical Brothers, Andrew Weatherall and Richie Hawtin to the best of the new breed in Maya Jane Coles, James Holden and Factory Floor.

Firmly established as one of the UK's most exciting new DJ / producers having cut his teeth in Weatherall's Shoreditch studio bunker, Drone Logic follows up Avery's universally acclaimed mix CD for London clubbing institution Fabric where he remains a resident, recent remixes for Primal Scream, The Horrors & Django Django and last year's Need Electric and Water Jump EPs on Alkan's Phantasy label. This summer sees him play at Bestival, Festival No.6 and the Green Man festival.

Freestyle techno nonstandard DJ Sotofett produced this cosmic ambient excursion together with two Finnish producers Kalifornia Keke and Stiletti Ana.

Detroit oddball Marshall Applewhite opens proceedings with "Destroy The Silence", a frenzied mass of stripped down electro-percussion that does exactly what its title says. Japanese producer Naco counters this energy with his gritty slow building tech-house mutation, OIZB. On the flip, Glances' Bulwark combines ethereal vocals with glitchy, pulsating percussion and Chungo closes out the release with the tribal, UK techno channeling roller Shuka.

Prime handler of comet powder-fuelled floor heroics for the sun-dazed hours, Melbourne’s Escape Artist made quite the impression with his previous pair of EPs for Salt Mines and much enticing debut tape album for Couch Acid Recordings. Turning up on Kalahari Oyster Cult with his anticipated third outing, ‘Digital Natives’, the Aussie producer pulls out a quartet of old-school ravey pumpers, rife with the usual pack of patented Escape Artist tropes.

Kalahari’s 19th oyster is sure to get dancers wading knee-deep in their own sweat as EA takes care of whooshing us off to dreamier Utopian heights in one smooth movement.

Cutting a path of cyber-organic fascination, ‘Another World’ flies us straight off to fantasized tropics where warm swashes of bleached-out pads and roguish acid froth languidly lap at convulsive ridges of breaks-riddled drum programming.

Taking the original for a dive into swampy, Chain Reaction’esque depths, Canadian techno deconstructivist Flørist offers a moment of calm before the B-side’s storm. An all-out dynamic affair, ‘Digital Natives’ cranks up the heat a notch further with its heavy alloy of propulsive electro and ankle-breaking rhythmic outbursts, which shall wreak absolute havoc no matter the hour or place.

Rounding off the trip on a jazzy, laid-back after party vibe, ‘Inner City Pressure’ is a vivid mix-&-match of junglistic engineering and ethereal house-ism; a most spitting sum-up of Escape Artist’s playful and versatile approach toward production.

Roll the dices and brace yourself, this is some massive magic at work right here.

(++) Ocen Myst takes us deeper into the abyss with a wonderful low end and glassy synth lines taking centre stage, beautiful and sorrowful electro. (-) Deep Horizons, the title track, is the kind of electro that takes you on a journey through the depths of the pacific ocean, lush warm pads and synths lines full of emotional content, wrapped masterfully over snappy snares and shimmering hi-hats, this track has it all. (- -) Twilight Dive closes the ep in great style, a fat low end over a cracking 4/4 to create a superb electro/techno crossover, a track that is sure to set dancefloors alight. So yes, 2013 certainly is the year Skudge opens up the vaults! Right on the tail of our recent Irie EP comes Cliff Lothar's new record.
After his wonderful entry for the Viewlexx camp earlier this year, our friend comes clean with a somewhat darker take on his trade sound. With "Murked Out", we're reminded of "Dro Friday", but the halloween version. "Tangaxuan II" is equally funky but dwells further in a deep and bleepy fashion that invokes the early Warp catalogue spirit while "Audiomess" even enhances that felling, adding an eerie edge familiar to the more continental Bunker rooster.

Concluding this four tracker comes the mostly gruesome "Darkhole Gloryroom" that uses high contrast to convey schizophrenic moves on the dance floor, a perfect testimony to what Skudge stands for after a year of unusual journeys.

Polish-Silesian producer Karol Gwózdz aka Nail joins the German label Dominance Electricity for a mystic 'Revelation'.

The title track is an epic ten-minute Electro trip with biblical vocoderized lyrics in Polish language, driving broken beats and hypnotic melody loops.

Followed by the slightly more energetic '1987', the release also features two ambient bonus pieces that highlight the beautiful synth work of the two songs.
