The seventh EP on Frits Wentinks Bobby Donny label brings together some known and unknown producers. The original production is by Low End Activist, someone who has spent the last 15 years in Berlin, Bristol and Brighton, no doubt picking up parts of the musical styles of those cities as he goes.

It features London Grime MC Trim, an original member of Roll Deep and an artist signed to James Blake's 1-800 label. The remixes comes from Frits himself as well as Cassius Select, who has recently released on UTTU and Herbert's Accidental.

Park End is a naughty tune with garage tinged drums slipping and sliding beneath menacing rhymes from Trim.

Paranoid synth sounds and an oscillating low end speak of late night urban mischief and it's the sort of characterful tune to stand out in any set.

Cassius Select reconfigures the tune as a much more dark and experimental number with a heavy bottom end and huge sub bass that totally envelops you.
Frits then goes for a more mellow and melodic version, with lazy drums and wilting chords as rainy keys fall from above. It glows like street lights at night and closes out an EP with real attitude.

Scuba continues his uncompromising SCB moniker with 'Caibu', a twelve track LP of cerebral techno, darkened disco and broken beats out April 13th on Hotflush.

Paul Rose's career has enjoyed a unique trajectory that affords his reputation as one of the scene's most forward thinking artists, label heads and promoters. Always the risk taker, his Hotflush imprint is credited as a key force behind the evolution of bass music, whilst his ground-breaking booking policy for the sub:stance night at Berghain opened up one of the worlds most revered venues to new sounds and musical possibility. Today he continues to challenge the status quo of electronic music through a packed touring schedule, various artistic projects of his own and a weekly radio show platforming new material.

'Caibu' is his first album as SCB and incorporates material from the 'Below The Line' and 'Old Media New Society' EPs of last year. Preceding the release a third EP - 'Engineered Morality' - will drop 16th March, continuing to explore the fictional narrative in which a hypothetical timeline is corrupted by a climate-related disaster. The title of the album itself refers to an imagined surgical procedure where cognitive ability is augmented through transplant from one brain to another. As such, 'Caibu' and its accompanying EPs invite the listener to forge their own ideas on the development of society in the context of crisis.

Within this dystopic setting, 'Caibu' draws strength from introspection. At times trapped in a pressurized container, at others floating through vast spaces; SCB merges subdued hypnotism, syncopated basslines and visceral ambience to find his centre. Metallic surfaces are moulded into polyrhythmic patterns replete with ricocheting drums, whilst unfamiliar acoustics provide a backdrop for the unfurling narrative.

"We Are What You Think We Are" is a 3 part compilation celebrating 10 releases from New York-based label and promoters Lost Soul Enterprises. Rrose and Lucy need little introduction - as heads of Eaux and Stroboscopic Artefacts (respectively), their influence on the direction of techno in the last five years is undeniable. Rather than crafting a style to be imitated, they pursue an approach that welcomes unpredictable results, with the intention of stimulating uncharted areas of the mind through sound and rhythm.

The first Lotus Eaters collaboration appeared on Stroboscopic Artefacts in 2016. For their follow up on Eaux, the pair go deeper into Lucy's analog modular forest, searching for those essential elements that will yield alchemical results. "Inner Membrane" undulates with ring modulated tones that stretch like liquid metal, patiently building up dancefloor energy with only the barest of percussive elements. On the B side, "Inverted Limb" takes a similarly minimal approach, utilizing two tones, a bass drum, and hi-hats to maximum effect. The EP closes with "Seeds of Discontent" - a swirl of feedback and noise that is both soothing and unsettling, leaving us wondering what will come next...

Super Rhythm Trax welcomes back Cardopusher for his second appearance on the label. This EP showcases a range of styles including his trademark jackin' acid trax but also widens the net to include the New York Freestyle of 'Never Fade Away' and the Nu Groove-esque 'Mental Jobs' .

Camelot Arcade is the new triple LP from Ceephax Acid Crew on WeMe Records. 13 tracks of Camelot goodness with all the feeling and melodies we've come to expect from Ceephax and his collection of classic electronic hardware. The tracks range from the easy listening sound of Phraxby to the baroque dancefloor pump of Camelot Escalator, to the trap-esque cyber feel of Yodecahedron and the Detroit moodiness of The Green Night. Creon Happy and Trusthouse Forte have an upbeat classical feel (backed up of course by Ceephax's favourite Roland drum machines.) While Path to the None and Shadowphax Part I&II are more dark in spirit. A lot of the tracks such as Life Started Tomorrow and The Great Greatsby were born randomly of quick jams with live keyboard playing and the album has an organic feel to it which a lot of the more formulaic electronic music lacks. All in all Camelot Arcade is a wonderful breath of fresh air and is sure to go down in history as one of Ceephax's best.

Carl Finlow returns with a double pack under his renowned Electro pseudonym, Silicon Scally, featuring tracks produced for the live set he performed to a packed crowd at London's long-running Scand night at the tail end of 2017.

In Carl's own words: 'I used to use a real 808 back in the '90s but when I moved over to France it was left with it's original owner, Ralph Lawson. My equipment was gone almost entirely apart from my Apple Mac, which I used to write ALL of my stuff for about 10 years. Over the last few years I've been experimenting with lots of different USB midi controllers and I've finally ended up with a few that really allow me to play around in real time with both my audio and midi parts and I created a setup where I can have full hands on control of two killer plugins, the D16 Group's Nepheton 808 and Audiorealism's ABL3 303 emulation. The main controller I'm using is the Akai APC40mkII which allows me to map a huge amount of knobs to both of those plugins whilst also giving me mixer faders and pads to trigger drum clips in Ableton Live. Alongside this I also use the Novation LaunchPad Pro to trigger all my bass, keyboard and fx parts. The two units work in really nice harmony with each other and they give me a huge amount of real time control over the live set.'

After his collaboration with Adam Beyer Joseph Capriati teams up with Flavio Folco for the second Redimension with a fully analogue production in the studio. Another Way of Falling Apart' aims to build a wider audience for singular music adorer, Martin Jensen, a cosmopolitan Copenhagen-born artist whose music follows an emotional route that meanders back ultimately to analogue and electronica inspirations of myriad treasurable kinds. This incursion into LP territory follows a decade or more of Jensen's passionate engagement with music as the creative force behind singles on Static Caravan, and as the co-founder of the label Second Language (until 2014), for which he was the wings behind the celebrated Music and Migration' series in support of 'BirdLife International'. He has also remixed Colleen, Dollboy, and Ellis Island Sound.

Jensen's journeys into sound and harmonious living, which have recently taken him from London to a Brexit-rejecting Luxembourg home setting, are fuelled by his happy addiction to record acquiring (an almost pathological corollary of his now 25+ years of deejaying), his net thrown weekly into the waters of disco, electro, jazz, soundtrack, and global beats and textures from any city, desert oasis, or tribal trail, a knowledge that decants through his processing into the flavours of these ten instrumental pieces as likely to take you into dystopian industrial darkness as a field full of cyber fireflies...and both simultaneously.

This is home territory for a committed and expert birder who joyfully connects as much with the planet in bijou record stores or when trying to sight great grey owls or azure-winged magpies in remote country locations!

Hence, an almost subliminal, feminine aura to this debut work, and an existential stance that aims not to trouble but to thrill and stir, to convey the beauty that happens when Jensen exposes the adrenalinic tide rocking his angst and calms it with balsamic polyphony and poignant melody.

Across ten tracks that begin with A Gathering Silence and end, appropriately a little closer to heaven, with Rooftop Nights, mercurial soundscapes feature subtle references to past musical trends defined by sound and rhythmic energy, his past, our past. Through a sophisticated shuffling of plains, he creates space for dark and light tone colour, brooding synth couches, faraway themes, and euphoric builds, a full scope of arthouse cinema ambiences and new-wave and pre-techno tensions.

It seems appropriate that the launch of an album into a marketplace experiencing such huge levels of eclecticism should carry the hopes and signature of someone who turns the curation of an unlimited palette of sonic proposals into such a labour of love. Enjoy!

Turbo Recordings is proud to present the kind of remix pack we've heard you talk about in your sleep, featuring a banging techno remix from masked man/presumed German Redshape, an electro-funk jam from veteran Clone machinist Dexter, and two mixes (one vinyl, one digital) from rising Turbo star ANNA that will enrich the lives of completists everywhere. Label boss Tiga has declared this to be his favourite release of recent times, with each track instantly plunging him deep into a persona he calls 'Mr. Goin' Crazy,' which he describes thusly: 'Your best friend if you're feeling' the highs and your worst nightmare if you ain't deep in the groove...can rap his way out of any cypher...naturally good at math...makes his own ceramic dinnerware with insane designs and patterns...

When we started The Bunker New York label in 2014 there was a short list of artists whose music we knew that we wanted to get out into the world. Lori Napoleon, aka Antenes, was high up on that list, although at the time the Brooklyn-based Chicago native had yet to release her recorded music at all. Five years on, after acclaimed records on L.I.E.S. and Silent Season, residencies at Issue Project Room and Bell Labs plus a busy global touring schedule as both a DJ and live performer, we are proud and excited to present Lori's Ante Meridiem EP under her Antemeridian production moniker. She tells us that the Antemeridian project is a special outlet for her more melodic synthesizer compositions and the name Antemeridian refers to morning light and the meridian lines of the planet, the view you would have from above if you were already in the sky/space/seeing the atmosphere also from a great distance.'

With this EP, Antemeridian has created nothing less than a masterwork of synthesis comprising unique soundscapes unbelievably detailed and crisp. We asked Lori to tell us a bit about her production techniques, which include home-built machines from unorthodox source materials including vintage switchboards and telecommunications equipment. She actually built her first synthesizer out of an antique telephone switchboard we donated to her from The Bunker HQ! I use a combination of synths and controllers/sequencers that I've made along with commercially available/ bought or modded analog synths and field recordings that have gone through a number of effects chains. There may be a crackling sound that emerged from the modular which made me think about a flame sparking and burning out, recalling a very organic process in nature - but in a composition it's a drum element. Perhaps the sense of detail comes from how I work on finding sounds before arranging them in a track so when I find one with little nuances and textures, then I'll be inspired to compose with it. The debut album from renegade trio Mutant Beat Dance (Traxx aka Melvin Oliphant, Beau Wanzer and Steve Summers) takes the wild and free sound of Chicago's Music Box era into the 21st Century. Over twenty-five tracks the album mines an oft cited but rarely understood ground at the intersection of Post-Punk, Minimal Wave, Industrial, Disco Dub, EBM and proto-House / early-House. 'Mutant Beat Dance ' is an epic journey into a classic American ideology that had its apex in Chicago.

This aesthetic has already proven influential on many artists across the globe. Least of which is the Grammy winning LCD Soundsystem whose members Tyler Pope and Patrick Mahoney back Melvin on vocals here on the Martin Hannett and Howard Devoto inspired 'Feed The Enemy' - a cut that shows how wide and deep this epic record goes. Another LCD member Gavin Rayna Russom also provides vocals on the later cut 'Geometrical Disease.' That these collaborations are included here should come as no surprise to anyone who caught the recent LCD tour - Traxx was the opening DJ on that nationwide tour.

Mutant Beat Dance was originally a duo made up of Traxx, and molecular biologist, Chicagoan Beau Wanzer. Traxx and Beau have been working on this concept in various forms throughout the last decade on solo and duo releases for Discos Capablanca, Rong Music, Hour House Is Your Rush Records, L.I.E.S, Light Sounds Dark, Rush Hour, Jealous God, Beau's own untitled label and Traxx's own Nation label. After this rack full of releases the duo began to refine their concept from 2015 on into its most thoroughly developed state - the result is this epic 25 track, 200 minute long debut M.B.D album for Rush Hour.

Given the scope of the material for the project it became logical and necessary to expand the unit to include its newest member Brooklyn based Steve Summers known for his releases on Clone Jack For Daze, Confused House and others. Together this hard-working trio has completed an album with an enormous diversity of song styles unlike anything they have ever done before. Unique in its musical range and content from obscure electronics with subliminal messages to funk laden machine grooves, industrial soundscapes, Detroit dirge, cryptic ankle bitter anthems and beyond this is a genre-bending challenging monster of an album that may scare you at first but push forward and deep rewards lie within.

NNY Records presents the new work of the Alphacom duo, formed by the producers Eduardo de la Calle (Analog Solutions) and Kristina (Amsafe Records). This new Spanish label is responsible for publishing the four new productions included in "Path EP", a work where Eduardo and Kristina show another facet, different from their solo careers, close to the style of
mythical projects such as Plant 43, ERP and The Other People Place where the electro merges with the IDM. Throughout four tracks they show their mastery when producing an analog and melancholic electro, where each sound is milimetrically studied and shaped to sound as it should, to provoke movement and stimulation of body and soul.

On the A side BFTT and Lack follow on from their debut release on the fifth Cong Burn Tape. BFTT crafts a peak time sub heavy techno weapon which beautifully collapses in on itself before its final ascent. Lack layers polyrhthmic splashes of Shackleton-esque percussion over dubbed out bass growls. Flip it over and you've got Chekov following up his ace debut on Shanti Celeste's Peach Discs with electro 808 patterns and swells of low end weight. Howes lowers the tempo with a low key bubbler that further explores the texture's laid out on Cong Burn's first 12".

It is undeniable that Bjarki and his bbbbbb imprint are at the forefront of Iceland's dance music scene, playing a vital role in asserting the country as a hub for genre bending electronic music. Although the label has proved to be a solid platform for Bjarki's own experimental material, bbbbbb continues to host some of Iceland's best talents (notably last year's lauded release from Volruptus who followed up with another killer outing on ).

For bbbbbb's 10th release Bjarki continues to substantiate his A&R abilities, introducing the world to Lord Pusswhip. Having enjoyed a meteoric rise as a key player in Iceland's hip-hop scene, the young producer's sound has continued to evolve since befriending Bjarki and the bbbbbb crew, and 'The Hand of Glory EP' now sees him at arguably his most adventurous and experimental yet.

Murky atmospherics introduce 'xmas jam creep' before a cacophony of percussion ups the energy, setting the tone for a dynamic release. 'crazy shit mane' follows with its crunchy drums, scintillating synths and sultry bass until 'hop out the car' blends hip-hop vocals with mesmerising chord sequences reminiscent of Richard D. James' early work.

An undulating bassline then works alongside a chorus of angelic voices in 'The Hand of Glory, making way for the syncopated and dreamlike 'shroomm0(u)rning'. Moving into ambient territories, 'green house living' layers pads and samples together to generate an otherworldly aesthetic until 'CHOPPA HARD' combines ominous drones with a steady beat to conclude the release.

Techno meets progressive atmospherics on this haunting, enchanting voyage into the deep. An adventurous solo project from an already accomplished musician, this record explores texture and rhythm in an aqueous, introspective atmosphere. There's a directness, casualness, and vulnerability to the music that sets apart a distinctive voice. It fits easily into the Kimochi catalog.

Finally the long-awaited second series of 'Invisible Family' outings has arrived. Label boss and compiler GK Machine has this to say: 'Beyond ecstatic to get these tracks out. The Gazeebo track I've been playing in my sets for years. Digital only but SO great it definitely needed to get pressed onto wax!! I would DJ with it using Ableton and speed it up a lot so for the vinyl I asked Jon (Nedza) who I've been a huge fan of since his Community Recordings releases on Grayhound and Imperial Dub, whether he could speed it up a little bit before we pressed it up. Now it's 100% perfect: a Moroder-esque cosmic stomper that's sure to set any dancefloor alight. The Apiento track is another one that's been gestating for a long time...first appearing around the time the original "E.S.P." 12' appeared on the wonderful Golf Channel Recordings in 2014. Secret Circuit gave it a complete overhaul, in fact several complete overhauls, plus some of his signature guitar and has turned the already blissful track into an afro-esque, trippy, beautiful, beautiful piece of music that (IMO) is one of his best yet. Utterly gorgeous!!
Then there's the boy-girl retro-future duo Der Kundalini coming from the wonderful Lectric Sands stable in NY who gave us Zoovox. This one's also been hiding on my hard drive way too long! Finally relative newcomers Konzel (of Junto Club/Optimo Music fame) & Natural Sugars (Pardon My French) round off the package just perfectly. The former so distinct that I felt it was a perfect opener for the A side. So, I hope you dig it...and keep an eye out for the super limited 12-track cassette too!!!'

Hailing from outer space via Reykjavik, Volruptus maps out intergalactic forms of communication on 'Alien Transmissions', the latest release from Bjarki and Johnny Chrome Silver's inimitable bbbbbb records.
Title track is a disorienting dose of acid powered electropunkfunk whilst 'Jargon' uses complex polyrhythms to propel a grinding techno stomper. 'Gett Vffreakye' uses percussive breaks and mechanised vocal chops to depict aliens having a live jam in outer space, whilst closing track 'Tesseract' is an angular drum workout featuring animated bass and dissonant pad calls.

Cómeme starts 2018 by proving again to be a safe haven and a sanctuary for sensitive plants and unique characters devoted to music - just like Miruna Boruzescu aka Borusiade - from Bucharest - who conquered the radio stations of our parallel worlds and utopian desire. 'Dream catcher' was the name of the show, and 'Jeopardy', a nocturnal EP, her first release on vinyl.

Now, after adventurous travels through night clubs, theatres, windy cities, snowy fields and merciless deserts her desires and imagination have manifested themselves in her very first album, carrying the intriguing title: 'A Body'

The record sleeve features the back of her head, making us wonder what she sees, on the other side. Her visions unfold through 8 pieces of music that follow a dreamlike narrative of associations and transformations. Somber synthetic atmospheres, sparse and spatial rhythmical arrangements, strangely seductive melodies and lysergic ally pulsating bass lines lead us away from a dystopian present towards a sensorial experience we long to repeat as soon as it's over.

'A Body' is a deeply poetic work in which again and again you will hear Borusiade's voice, sometimes dissolving and recreating meanings in mantra-like repetitions, sometimes layering itself to pagan choirs of smooth ecstasy. Then again you will also hear that voice close to you, singing, sharing an experience or a thought. It is always soft, effortless and unpretentious, but always strong, clear and precise, like the voice that speaks to you in an altered state of consciousness. It seems to come from the same person that is holding your hand, when everything else seems to fade into uncertainty while wandering through strange times and places...

Starting with the song CLUSTER the effect is kicking in, we sink into the universe of the album through this throbbing ambience that seems populated by a reverberated ant colony that broke into a synthesizer. The introduction of this album is a complex emotional soundscape that is followed by a song: BREATHE, which sounds like a classic you never heard. With its catchy melancholia, it creates a déjà vu like strange familiarity of the unknown - a memory from the future. And though our minds were just twisting and turning in an overflow of information, we suddenly leave our bodies and observe ourselves breathe.

Other tracks, like DORMANT are more focused on the narration of the body and its state. Words, describing it in many ways, softly and incessantly repeated, are mixed deeply into the soundscapes of a track that features a bass drum so soft it could be a heartbeat. Foggy moments like these dissolve in a track like AN ACUARIAN FEELING, which is queer synthesizer love, shifting in shape and momentum, a ray of light that pushes itself through the nightly atmosphere that was preceding these moments, a similar landscape in different times - a choir enters, cheerful drums, climbing and descending melodies and rhythms of hope. Just like the utopian vision in the title track A BODY, that stands at the end of this journey, which in itself just opens another new horizon.

The third release by the Paris based Public System Recordings knows no bounds or borders. A massive 2x12 inch compilation featuring the likes of Fallbeil, Innsyter, Morah, Buttechno and many more from the realms of heavy rust and wild animals. The heart beat of industrial noise resonating through weathered metal surfaces. PSR003 is certainly writhing with wild tribal movement informed by the ferocity of feverish drum programming, waterlogged flanging and carefully degraded waveforms creating this fully engrossing and almost unclassifiable techno selection. It certainly puts an emphasis on the "Body" aspect of EBM.

BleeD release a second EP of the year in the form of a third solo outing for label head Volte-Face, who also records alongside Daniel Avery as Rote. Recently featuring on Semantica's latest Nonnative compilation, 'You Bury Me' sees Volte-Face further refining his hypnotic, atmospheric approach to techno.

The A1, 'Shirime', is dark and trippy, with a brooding atmosphere throughout. Iori's remix on the A2 recontextualises the core elements of the original track with a broken-beat. The B1, 'You Bury Me', features a grindingly anthemic synth-line and marries it to a Gothic ambience. 'Dead Cat On The Dinner Table' rounds off the EP, an unapologetically straightforward beat underpinning some outrageous and unpredictable sounds. NYC Veteran and machine wizard Charles Noel aka Archetype reaches deep into his sonic archive to present another incredibly special release on Bright Sounds. Featuring exclusive previously unreleased material ranging from abstract to sublime in the form of a new & unique alias, (CN2). Essential.

Los Angeles based Natan H and Malta based artist Owen Jay return as Gauss with their first EP of 2017. Entitled Resonator it offers more deep music with an electronic soul and is their fifth EP for their cultured label Gauss Ltd. The title track opens things up with a crunchy and impactful mix of weighty dub drums and spangled techno chords. It's a heavy track that builds in momentum and is sure to mangle minds with its skewed stabs and wiry electronics. Shifted is a more fierce techno track with urgency in the kicks and a sense of anger in the coarse little snare explosions. More gurgling synths add weight and this one is a real stomper as a result. Cutting ever more loose, Odyssey is a mix of IDM sound design, soulful synth smears and percolating electro tinged drums that are slick and futuristic. Least Squares completes this techno picture with spitting hits and claps, underwater chords and acidic sonar pulses that soothe the mind. This is an expansive EP that marks an exciting evolution in Gauss's sound.

Gauss is a collaborative studio project that has been active since 2014. Individually, Chicago native Natan H has released on labels as respected as ManMakeMusic and Finale Sessions, while Maltese producer Owen Jay has been spotted on Underground Quality and Minuendo to name but a few.

From low-blowing electro drums to shimmering pads, rugged, snaking house grooves to hypnotic, metallic chords, on this record Gauss have carved out a cohesive sound world that channels the spirit of classic dub techno. Philus (mika vainio) - Kolmio EP More absolutely killer, rare as hens teeth minimalism from the undisputed master of the genre - Mika Vainio. Kolmio is nothing short of a masterclass in pristine minimalism that sounds clearly like a pre-cursor not only to the precise tone arrangements of Alva.Noto but also to the bleep-driven reduced Techno of Hawtin, Sleeparchive et al. It's hard to believe this music dates from 1998, fr the finest frozen melodic patterns and endlessly deep, padded beats and precise bleep/tone arrangements ever made - look no further. Awesome.

Following releases from Manni Dee and JoeFarr & Martyn Hare, Leyla Records presents four uncompromising new tracks from English duo Witch. Induction Hardened Bedways is a gritty and tough techno workout from two young talents that represent Leyla's dedication to recapturing the authentic feeling of the music with a modern touch. The A-side opens with 'Zpkf', an hypnotising production that feels smothered with sand paper, its slow build erupting into a cacophonous battle between rhythm and leads that leaves the listener stranded on the dancefloor, unable to do anything but move forward into the music. 'Okhstk' follows with a more traditional approach though the sound remains just as rugged with distortion obscuring the edges of the rhythm while melodic pressure mounts until it can seemingly no longer be contained but ultimately refuses to explode. On the B-side 'Flec' starts with a steady, marching rhythm, the distorted kick drum somewhere in the vicinity of your hearing until all of a sudden it's in front of you and you can't escape its momentum. Once again Witch play with your senses, stacking rhythmic and melodic elements in a way that seems haphazard yet proves to be a clever trap that locks you into their own twisted sonic world. The EP closes with 'Vosmr', another slow-building, buzzing production with no distinctive edge that lures you in and swallows you whole. Induction Hardened Bedways offers a fresh take on techno across its four tracks showing that the original spirit of the music is alive and well, and still capable of shocking and surprising

LL321 is a prolific music producer. I didn't watch twin peaks so i didn't know that this was where the big string chords had come from, it just hit me emotionally and i loved it. i also loved the mournful 'yeah-eah-eah' sample which was so simple but completely perfect. a lot of techno and rave was quite brash at that time and this was an antidote for me. At that age, if i was really into something i would work out how to play it on the piano and i remember sitting in the music room at school, hammering out the 'moby chords' when i should have been practising my scales. i don't really regret that - at least i knew the chords when it came to making a remix years later!' - Rex the Dog - 2016

Body Music Album Teaser is produced by a man who needs little introduction. Thomas P. Heckmann has flexed his prowess across all shades of electronic music, but it's his contributions to EBM-techno, acid, industrial, and experimental that has earned him his notoriety.

Heckmann has utilised 30 years worth of acquired knowledge to create a hard-hitting album and teaser which bears all the grit he is known for - harmonising analogue and digital wares to create an utterly immersive 14 track album. This 3 track teaser gives you a taste of what is to come.

The second release on Sbire furthers the on-going collaboration between label co-founder Gaspard de La Montagne and Nathan Baumann. 'Spectres' is a bold, seductive and wonderfully-unhurried record which shows the breadth of the Sbire sound world.

The title track is orchestral and profoundly alluring, with an earworm bassline creeping out from behind the kick drum's refined thud. You're pulled further in by the lengthy intro of 'Aube', where floating pads, draw from the instrumental flair of classical music. Mid-way through they give way to a stripped-back bassline, exemplifying the nature of this collaboration.

B-side opener 'Masque' has harmonic beams of light swirling over its foundations. The melodies transfix and the drums keep time. 'Perspectives (1 & 2)' occupies a thin veil of haze, tempering the beat and bringing out the groove in the baggy percussion. In fitting style, it ends a record whose grace comes in the striking interactions between elements far-removed.

Detroit techno bass. Two strong uptempo movers, BUY

It's safe to say that Terence Fixmer's track "Aktion Mekanik Theme", originally released on Music Man in 2003, was as much a landmark release for techno as the whole Aktion Mekanik compilation was for EBM as a genre. "As an artist who's been pushing EBM sounds into the modernity of Techno it was a logical step to do the compilation back then," Terence says. "I wanted to show my influences as a Techno artist, as Detroit sounds weren't my roots at all, but classics by Front 242, Fad Gadget, Nitzer Ebb, Crash Course In Science or Snowy Red.

I met Music Man's Stefaan Vandenberghe through Emmanuel Top in '93, and of course I was a fan of his label. Music Man was obviously the perfect place for this EBM project: they are from Belgium, they knew the bands, many of them were proud of this sound. So I discussed my idea of putting out a compilation with some classic and landmark tracks from the EBM direction with Stefaan, and it got made."

While Ostgut Ton now releases three new versions of "Aktion Mekanik Theme" by Kobosil, Norman Nodge & Marcel Dettmann, Music Man now reissues the original version on red 12" vinyl.

NHK yx Koyxen walks at any speed and on any surface he desires to trance-scend. His "Parallel Tempo EP" takes a mindful plunge into layers of rigorously murmuring gestures. Speed is relative to size. As they are streched and bent, the planes engage in parallel movement. This is an exploded drawing, unlocked from time.

The Japanese artist and producer NHK yx Koyxen contiunes to unveil his unique vocabulary, as the "Parallel Tempo EP" builds on a series of releases for L.I.E.S., Diagonal, DFA and The Trilogy Tapes. Publishing drawings and music alike, NHK yk Koyxen aka Kohei Matsunaga offers playful and sometimes unexpected glimpes of the "almost common". Performing on electronic music's timeless DNA, he offers those who step in a resonating space, in which loose objects are bound to embrace each other.

With its seventh release, NEW YORK TRAX welcomes the revival of John Selway's 'Semblance Factor' alias. Selway became an indispensable element of the history of the New York sound by virtue of building an extensive catalog of high quality releases spanning almost three decades and multiple genres of electronic music. From his first electronic band Chaotic Sound Matrix, to his major contributions to the early productions of Deep Dish; from his first success in the techno world as part of the seminal New York duo Disintegrator to the most successful of his collaborations, Smith & Selway, and his deep and minimal techno label CSM; from the intelligent electro-funk of Synapse and Serotonin Records, the electro and synth-pop of Memory Boy to the wild improvisational eclecticism of the Rancho Relaxo Allstars, Selway has created one of the richest bodies of work in the world of electronic music.

M-Twelve is a new collaboration between Tortured and Electrix label owner, Billy Nasty and Nick Dunton of Surface Records, 65D Mavericks fame and more recently, Poverty is Violence label.
Taking their name, M-Twelve, from the iconic Fred Perry T-shirt, the pair decided to combine forces based on a love of techno and electro, their strong friendship and many late night conversations in the back rooms of various nightclubs. They started recording together last year and the 'Apocalypse in Paradise EP' is the first signs of their monthly meetings at what's been dubbed, 'Dunton Abbey Studios'.
The EP features their two original cuts of beautifully crafted emotional electro, the warm and glittering 'All The Things' and 'Time Spent' with it's deep narrative and tough machine groove. In addition, remixes of 'Time Spent' come from Sync 24 (Scand / Cultivated Electronics) who delivers an energetically fuelled reworking and Electro veterans, Transparent Sound with a stripped and stomping acidic version.
Billy and Nick have also just started work on remixes for tracks by London Modular Alliance and Mr Velcro Fastener, so expect to hear more of their M-Twelve work over the coming months.

Pupil Dilations - new EP by Russian producer Kausto (real name Kuzma Palkin) for Roots United records.
5 tracks was produced in 2004 - 2007 in Kausto's hometown Severodvinsk on a vintage PC using Jeskola Buzz Tracker and old VST plugins.
Main source of inspiration - music of that time: Baby Ford, Humanoid, 808 State's Newbuild, as well as Analord series by AFX.
Original EP consisted of 6 pieces with the sixth track coming out as a bonus on digital release.

For the 23rd release on Pinkman, Rotterdam based Mitchell Goor delivers a 4 tracker of slow, raw and warped Techno. The contrast between unpolished percussive instruments and ethereal melodies reoccurs throughout the release and gets polished and refined by haunting vocal samples and pungent acid bass lines. This gives the record an ability to take audiences on rollercoaster rides through tension and anger as well as hope and promise, powered by permanent, adrenaline stimulating, raw energy.

Dekmantel regular Matrixxman returns with the third, and final instalment in the Sector series, Part III: Polyphony. In this triptych, the producer from San Fransisco sets out to highlight the key components behind the sounds and style of techno, exploring the range within the confines of a particular limitation. Following Parts I and II, which looked at Rhythm, and Acid, Charles McCloud Duff charters the realm of Polyphony with four, meticulously produced techno tracks, expanding his repertoire of cult, dancefloor music.Polyphony refers to the simultaneous combining of many notes in a musical sequence. In electronic music, this specifically refers to the role of the synthesiser - such as the Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, which can produce different pitches simultaneously. Polyphony has been an integral characteristic of the genre's sound for over a quarter of a century, and can be heard in many key records, living a the sonic forefront of these four tracks. 'Sector Series: III Polyphony' provides an exercise in melody and polyphony. Throughout the EP, swaggering rhythms are inter-washed with a sea of multi-melodious, reverberated notation. 'Initiation' resonates with the grandiosity, and harsh claustrophobia of early Underground Resistance. 'Access Granted', drives hard with pulsing effects, with a dystopic, rhythmic cacophony of euphony. 'Desert Planet' plays around with a differing tempo, imagining a more fantastical vision of music, echoing back to earlier Plastikman productions, using a vast sonic spectrum to conjure up a colour palette of alien imagery. 'Horizon' rounds things off; a track that builds on minimalism with a progressive composition, allowing the polyphonics to drive the track, harnessing the adept production qualities that Matrixxman has come to be recognised for.

Medellín based bastard Verraco, strikes back with three eclectic and murderer cuts. Brutal electro and techno poisoned with synthwave jabs to hijack putrid dancefloors.

With releases on BNR Trax, Minimal Wave's Cititrax and a regular on Zone Records, French producer and RAAR co-founder Maelstrom makes his debut on CPU with 'Alph4', a seven track electro-leaning mini LP of one-take recordings.

Maelstrom's sound on Alph4 is comparable to Aphex Twin's more restrained Analord output. Focussed, highly detailed production alongside an abundance of evocative synth melodies will ensure these tracks become firm favourites with forward thinking DJs and electronic music fans.

Meat Beat manifesto formed in Swindon in 1987 by Jack Dangers (MBM's only permanent member) and "Impossible Star" is the first full length album in over seven years from the seminal electronic band.

S>>D aka Sean Dorris from Belfast delivers his debut album 'Co Intel Pro' on CPU. Refined sampling alongside hip hop influenced breaks sees S>>D operating in a similar dimension to VHS Head. Reminiscent of 1980s sci-fi soundtracks interwoven with IDM-tinged electro, haunting atmospheres prevail throughout with hints of a genre that has yet to emerge. Presented over 2x12" vinyl at 45rpm for superior sound quality.

Und auch die B-Seite "Mosel 45" zelebriert diese schnörkellose Ästhetik unter Hochspannung und verbeugt sich so ganz nebenbei vor dem Frankfurter elektronischen Untergrund zwischen Monophonie und Bahnhofsviertel. UK producers Sween and Dawl deviate from their usual homebase of their own Tone Dropout label to deliver a solid 4 track EP on Berlin based Klasse Wrecks. Classic electro influences mix with breakbeat flavours to produce a fantastic and energetic collection of tracks. Part Sci-Fi terror, part Alien-invasion...all good!

5 1 1 5 9 3 is the first full-length album release of Vienna based artist Electric Indigo, who started DJing in the late 1980s, worked at the legendary Hard Wax record store in the early 1990s, and effortlessly manages to entertain the dancing crowd at Berghain as much as the contemporary music avant-garde at Wien Modern.
5 1 1 5 9 3 combines influences of both worlds into a consistent and coherent album. Crystalline metallic objects collide, embedded into fractured endless spaces, sparse rhythmical syncopations shaping grids, holding sonic particles in place. Rare vocal transformations inject a human touch. 5 1 1 5 9 3 offers a unique universe, full of color and light, partially flirting with current club music and at other times diving deep into sublime sonic areas.

Kris Baha turns to Pinkman with a standout 5 tracker blending influences and ranging from EBM, darkwave and experimental electronics. What makes them work together is a shared industrial edge, spine-chilling atmospheres and minimalistic vocals. By finding excellence in diversity this record is equally suited for boiling dance floors and home listening purposes.

New Zealand's most prolific J-tek enthusiast Dan Silk aka Worldwide Epidemic returns to the Myor camp, this time for a solo release on the Diamond Life sublabel.

On 'Aroha' he finds himself exploring territory slightly removed from his usual 4x4 Jungle Techno habitat. Extended pads, techy synth stabs, sugar coated diva vocals and spot of Amen choppage courtesy of label boss Coco Bryce make for a top notch 7 minute atmospheric D&B junglist excursion.

'Enterprise' offers everything one might have come to expect from Mr. Silk: his signature offbeat break programming layered with a 4x4 kick drum, instantly recognizable synth melodies and a healthy dose of pads. Hardcore in its most gentle form.

Scottish Electro genius The Wee Djs steps up on the second edition of Varvet. Since the mid-90s this mega productive producer been running his labels Gassoline, Spacebar Sentiments and This Machine Is Broken and releasing eps on multiple labels and different names including a collaboration with Two Lone Swordsmen since. In 2017 the sound is still rough and ready electro but yet something different.

For this release Metrist delves into a set of carefully constructed and deeply rhythmic but ear-grabbingly idiosyncratic, mixed fidelity dancefloor-geared oddities.

The first three tracks are united, in a fashion, by the artist's skill at programming a series of drum tracks that set a definite tone for the productions. Within a quite partisan field of often microscopic generic variety, largely pinned down to the tempo and timbre of electronic drums, here Metrist has pursued a tricky-to-define path. The bounce of new jack swing is twisted amongst stripped back polyrhythms, equal parts groove and glitch seasoned by some futuristic acid filters that create a constantly shifting aura of space and textural nuance around the individual drum hits. Quite often arrhythmic interjections punctuate these 'grooves', be it the sawing bursts of noise and snarled, incoherent vocals on 'An Soaep', the non-language and playful, bubbling bass surrounding the half time feel of 'On Golden Seize' that builds to something approximating an industrial take on UK Funky or the brash sub-wobbles that intrude 'Pantomimer Tongue's juddering knife-scraping-on-a-balloon stutters.

'Caaacel the Horze' closes the record in a less weighty style, with crunchy arpeggios running on a synth that sounds like it's picking up interference from a radio channel, as snatches of moaned vocals allude to a deeply ambiguous yet chilling narrative behind the music. Thudding kicks intrude on the skittish melody but in a non-rhythmic way reminiscent of someone trying desperately to snatch your attention by banging on the adjacent wall. Gauzy melodic textures in the background provide a calming counterpoint to the uneasy qualities of the composition.
