Minimal in the Mix: Vor knapp 3 Jahren wurde die DJ/Produzenten Combo MEA ins Leben gerufen mit zahlreichen, erfolgreichen Veröffentlichungen und Remixen unter div. Pseudonymen (u.a.
Minimal in the Mix - besser geht's nicht!

Taking in four tracks, the EP is a fitting end of year tribute to a label which has Superb dancefloor tech-house and techno

With their label debut by False Prophet still a fresh fixture in many discerning boxes and winning support from selectors such as Magda, Appleblim, Brendon Moeller, Slam, and Laurent Garnier, recently-minted London imprint Take launch right back into action return with this second release, courtesy of newcomer James Fox, with a prestige remix from Hessle Audio Ramadanman on the flip. The original cut starts with a dry, pared-down 4/4 kick, weaving vocal snippets and found sounds into the sonic field before downpitched 808 bass and lovingly-processed stabs take turns to push things along. Across seven minutes, the track gracefully unfurls heady rolling beats and lush sweeping strings for an hypnotic interpretation of deep Detroit-esque house placed in a contemporary bass-emphatic setting. Ramadanman's minimalist refix increases the tempo and filters James' synth work over a rattling and spluttering 2-step beat, ramping up and reeling in the tension before an extended drop fades out the beats to provoke a startling shift in mood.

Following the worldwide success of the 'at Play' collection, we felt it only right to once again throw open the chest of hidden gems. The compilation includes proven clubland monsters and dirty dancefloor bombs from the Canadian whizz that is Deadmau5, alongside some of his finest collaborations to date
