As we grew up we changed, and as we change we become multiple to the eye of others... As a musicien changes he becomes an artist to my eyes. Acidupdup goes more and more diverse, openminded, having various pleasures with sound... Able to susprise you, able to escape the image you got of him. Turning point again with a true nomad life. Now mad live. Enjoy and lets get surprised by this ep travelling through styles with one comon point : deformatting the expected sounds and creating a vibe. BIG ONE !

Kad brings here a bloody good track... 160 BPM Dancefloor and consistant. A wild ambiance and a sound with a big presence. B side is from Drone, one of the Dune records founders... The style is very different, even if the speed is the same... Kick is sent backward and the accent is put on the low mediums... The Acid is everywhere : in the hit-hat, in the kick, in the melodies... but is more in a diffusion rather than in a shout.... Mental stuff.

Notes: After an A-side debut on M_Red Ltd's heady 10'' series, shadowy outfit Overall Severity return with their first full outing for KEY Vinyl. Much like the slabs of steely sonic wares that have paved the way before it, 'Knowing The Healing' presents three works of on-point dance floor material we've come to associate with the underground tastemaker.
'Explain Pain' is the EP's aggravated opener. A pounding kick and itchy percussion unfurls into a din of claps and noises, spliced with melodious peals and a low-slung sort of groove. 'Backfiring Nerves' is one of those cool peak-time weapons: frantic yet subtle, deeply groovy and plied with much-loved vintage crashes. 'Parasympathetic' then concludes in the form of a chugging basement bomb awash with bleary acid tones, crystal hats and muted dissonant chimes. All in all, 'Knowing The Healing' marks a powerful entry into the ring from these ones-to-watch newcomers.
