We are very proud and honered to release this ep by Function aka Dave Sumner from Sandwell District.

One of techno's true underground heroes, Function (Dave Sumner) has been DJing and making music for over 15 years. Hailing from New York, he was seduced by techno music when Jeff Mills held a residency (as well as his own first) at the Limelight in the early 90s. Dave started to produce music and from the mid-90s onwards, put out music on Damon Wild's Synewave and his own Infrastructure imprint.

Together with Regis (Karl O'Connor) he worked as Portion Reform, putting out uncompromising music on Downwards and becoming the only non-Birmingham producer to release on the label. In 2008 Dave moved to Berlin, still working with Regis, and now Silent Servant (John Mendez), put his focus on the acclaimed Sandwell District imprint.

Obsessed is a supper powerfull floating track for the dancefloor, a typical Function production.

This ep also contains remixes from Substance and SCB aka Scuba, both peak-time tracks.

Micha³ Wolski is a Polish musician, music journalist, radio DJ and tireless promoter of dub techno aesthetics. Eight extended compositions on his new record La Mer' (Sea) recall those special moments when sound becomes a movement of a kinetic sculpture, an abstract painting, or a cinematic report from the Arctic solitude. Personal and introvert, yet simultaneously carrying certain universal message (cosmic loneliness molecular life), sound space created by Wolski manages to seduce listener and inhale her/him for whole 75 minutes. Associations with sculptural work with matter are not purely arbitrary. On his fourth full-length, artist consciously shapes complex and saturated form, further developing - on evidence on his earlier releases - penchant for exploring darker alleys of synthesis and sound design. In his varied and consistent narration, one can find a whole range of references to noblest protoplasts such as Pan Sonic, Rhythm & Sound, or even Vatican Shadow's desert manipulation. However, the key to album's consistency does not rely on the power of quote, it rather manifests itself in sheer scale and depth of imagined atmospheres and non-existent geographies. But Wolski's constructs are much more than a set of sea sound fantasies. La Mer' is a highly individualist vision of new worlds of listening AND hearing, truly deep acoustic ecology in time of overall hiss.

interstellar universe with detailed grooves full of percussive splatters and echoing synths
that moves us into a dream like state of mind.
Conjuring the jazz planet in Berlin with Katzbachjazz'you are immediately transported
to a galaxy of sound with galloping percussion and a classic techno layout. Using more 909
techno drum elements she creates a whirlwind of sound with a delicate touch.
Taking things a little bit deeper with Cosmic Karma' she presents a heavily detailed
drum structure full of violin experimentation that creates a dark atmosphere but still
bringing an uplifting and joyous vibe.
Finishing off the package is something unique from Fred P who Julie asked to remix for
her due to her enormous respect for him. The emotionally charged remix of Cosmic
Karma' shows a different side of Fred P while still keeping his signature sound in tact.
The remix takes us through an ever-evolving voyage through time and space.

Be As One is once again showcasing the talents of a young and bright producer with a promising career ahead of him. Yotam Avni's unique approach to music didn't took long to be noticed and brought onboard by the Be As One crew. Yotam debuts on the Israeli label with an EP that reflects how he sees Techno: dark, raw, pumping, relentless with 'UR Sleeping' on the A side; emotional melodic, driving with the Detroit inspired 'Better Days' on the flipside. No let-up, no hesitation. Needlepoint guitar, deftly junglist drum programming, brooding synths and lethal sub-bass drive the engine. The production is immaculate, high definition. No hiss, no obscuring drones or extraneous noise: the music of Tooth is wide-open and exposed. The seeds of its supple dancehall biomechanics can be found in the self-titled 2013 EP by Raime side-project Moin, an ahead-of-its-time synthesis of art-rock and soundsystem sensibilities, but Tooth pushes the template further, binding the disparate elements together so tightly that they become indistinguishable from one another.

If Quarter Turns was an album that confronted total loss and self-destruction, even longed for it, then Tooth is the sound of resistance and counter-attack: cunning, quick, resolute, calling upon stealth as much as brute-force. At a time when so many pay lip service to experimentation without ever fully committing themselves or their work to it, Raime return from three years of deep, dedicated studio research with a bold and original new music: staunch, rude, and way out in front.

"What does Parachute aim to give"Useless to say we wanted to promptly set the pace and italicize originality but at the same time, quality.According to us there was no better way to succeed in our intent than to summon these two artists to take care of this extensive task.

The diversity of the beats and bass scene is reflected in the Rotterdam based label Lowriders Recordings. The new release by Know V.A. is a perfect example of the ever shifting and developing scene. Know V.A. and their mixture of styles is an obvious concurrence. The first release on Low by Know V.A. is called O Horizon and is filled with blunt drum-programming like it was 1994 completed with threatening tone contrasted with field recordings and all this together into a gritty dancefloor set. The name O Horizon, is also known as the forest floor, which is the lowest layer of a rainforest. The O stands for organic matter and is a place of spontaneous growth and continuous decay. The constant struggle for sunlight resembles the dynamics of the EP. Know V.A. are listed by Djbroadcast as Dutch producers to watch for 2014. Their recent Slowjamz release (and remix ep) got favored by artists like Plastician, Darkhouse Family and DJ Shadow. They are resident dj's for HOAX in Amsterdam and shared stage with big names in the scene. The choices for the remixes really add power to the release. Dj Earl & Dj Taye takes the drum sounds and the melody to another consciousness. American grime producer Rabit takes the floor filler Donkey Kong apart and creates a spooky masculine abstraction. North To South Part 1 is the first EP in a two-party story featuring four fresh cuts, it is another deep exploration of musical subtlety and rich sonic design that comes tied to some of the Dutchman's more propulsive drum work. Minimood Extra's forthcoming release is a vinyl only, red 12" affair that features two novel reworks of dub techno wizard David Hausdorf's legendary Salo release 'Space Walk'. Germany's David Hausdorf has been turning out expertly crafted deep techno since the late nineties. He did so on labels like Synaptic Waves as well as Styrax Leaves, and in 2002 served up his classic 'Space Walk' on the epic Berlin based imprint Salo.
First up is the 2015 Version. It is a ten minute piece of heady, hypnotic techno with soft rubber drums, gently propulsive percussion and icy high-hats that add a real sense of scale and depth to the track. With slick boom-bap bite in the claps and hits, this is the sort of expertly reduced track that will lock dance floors in for hours.
Then comes the 2015 Reshape, which again makes full use of its 10 minute length. There is a little more edgy reverb in this one, the drums are more upright and the pads are a little more rippling and rolling. It's a liquid groove as a result, and one that is near faultless for the way it rolls on and on without any friction.

Aether Series is home for bass heavy and DJ-friendly experimental music and sound art. The first release of the series is Ikola's mini-LP titled 'Core', originally recorded for 'Machine Soul - the documentary film' soundtrack. The film focuses on pioneering Finnish electronic music artists such as Mika Vainio, Jori Hulkkonen and Jimi Tenor. The score is composed as a tribute to their work and is now released as an independent piece on vinyl.
