Markus Homm unveils his twelve-track debut LP ‘After Dark’, set for release on German imprint Bondage-Music.

An artist with a rich history within deeper house spheres and minimal territories, Markus Homm has been a fixture of the scene for over twenty years with a long list of appearances at renowned institutions, including Panorama Bar, Watergate, Kater Blau and Tresor.

Whether releasing stand-out solo material via Hive Audio, 8Bit and Cyclic Records or collaborating with fellow countryman Mihai Popoviciu, Homm’s continual evolution and development have seen him become a staple name within sets of the industry’s leading talent. A regular on the imprint with a string of releases dating back to his label debut in 2012 as remixer for Miguel Lobo – Atemporal, the Romanian-born, Nuernberg-based talent returns to Bondage-Music as he presents his first album on the label,

"The album came together over the period of the last few years. I wanted to find the sweet spot of timeless music you can listen to at home or in a club. A few tracks have been completed also during the worldwide lockdown 2 years ago, such as the track ‘After Dark’. 
Most of us had the feeling of being in a dark place in life, for myself I always knew things would get better and I was looking forward to the moment, that motivated and inspired me to make my first artist album. ‘After Dark’, a rich collection of eight productions on the vinyl, ‘he album is a carefully crafted project. Starting with the vinyl version’s A1 ‘The System’, Homm delicately introduces the deep and dubby textures he’s so well known for and sets the tone for what is to come.



‘Generator’ builds upon this foundation with a selection of deep, aquatic tones, while B-side productions’ Trespasses’ and ‘Grauzone’ subtly pick up the pace and energy while guiding listeners down equally hazy and captivating trips.

‘Blue Mountain’ welcomes the first of four tracks on the 2nd vinyl, harnessing skipping drums alongside resonant chords, while title track ‘After Dark’ is an exemplary display of the Romanian’s ability to fuse delicate layers of misty pads, intricate percussion and resonant stabs.

On the flip, ‘I Wish’ is a spirited and breezy journey through rich soundscapes guided by floaty vocals, while ‘Who Are You’ concludes the physical package with a twisting production crafted for the after-hours. A display of deep textures, ‘After Dark’ marks showcases Homm’s signature sonics while offering new shades to his sound, marking his return to
Bondage-Music in impressive fashion.

An Apparition introduces the hazy feeling of the EP with a thundering kick, dubbed-out chords, and a mysterious vocal sample topped off with a funky 303 interlude. The A2 track CoupCoup builds the late night suspense with looming strings and chords driven by deep, groove-soaked percussion.

Molecular kicks off the B side with eerie vocal samples and gorgeous, otherworldly synth work, and is held together with a heavy broken beat and a morphing acid line. The final track, It’s You, summarizes the EP’s concept with a mesmerizing exploration through propulsive percussion, deep bass and immersive, evolving chords.

Drawing from a substantial archive of equipment, knowledge
and experience, Mike McClure and Craig Lambert’s approach to production results in modern music that remains true to old school sounds, methods and ideologies. Rather than adhere to the strict demands of any given genre, they seek out what sounds and feels authentic in the moment when they come together to write. With their attention focused on live performance and capturing that same energy in the studio, AutoClub infuses electronic music-making with refreshing, intimate, human qualities. Warm tones against a deep, celestial backdrop characterize their sound. Brisk, stimulating tempos, analog textures and organic, nearly seamless transitions between genres keep their performances fluid and engaging.

Cut from the 90’s rave cloth, AutoClub understands the crucial role music plays in bringing people together. Supporting and collaborating with other creatives is important to them. AutoClub are hands-on producers, synthesizer enthusiasts and community supporters/ organizers who value connecting with their community as much as with their instruments.

It’s also worth noting that Craig and Mike are both accomplished solo artists, Craig is also known as Midnight Music Club, and Mike as Autokinetic.

As the moon rose above the grove, the Stinkbug was perched on a mossy stump. A remarkably unique insect, the Stinkbug possessed a remarkable talent for mixing modern dance floor bass with dub music. With its delicate wings, it created melodies that combined pulsating energy and deep basslines. The woodland creatures gathered, swaying to the beat and feeling the vibrations beneath their feet. The grove transformed into a magical dance floor, and techno dub was born

The brainchild of Thom Parris & Alfie Aukett from Next Door Records, Stinkbug is a sonic exploration into the many crossover possibilities of sub driven bass music and forward thinking techno.

"Multila" was the third album by Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti under the moniker Vladislav Delay. It compiles the "Huone" and "Ranta" 12"EPs Ripatti released on Basic Channel's Chain Reaction label in 1999 and 2000. The album features six hauntingly murky dub ambient tracks and the impressive 22-minute techno odyssey "Huone."

More than 20 years after its original release as a full-length CD album (Chain Reaction), these iconic recordings of modern electronic music are now available again as a double vinyl edition, featuring a revised artwork by Marc Hohmann that matches the new design of the "Whisteblower" and "Entain" reissues.

"Life films us exactly. Our experience of it, though, lies beyond images and descriptions. Emotions, coming in irrational flashes, are non-figurable. We lose our little connection to them very quickly. We look for forms which promise to take us to our own experience. We construct forms with this in mind: that they can take us to meet the subconscious. Multila's construction is principled this way. Fragments of experience, moments without definition or localisation are captured within tiny fragments of time and then within one's mindspace. We can look into it and see that experience has left some of its data to us. As we receive it, again and again, we are connected and reconnected to certain indefinable moments. Both during and after its recording, Multila is a tool to learn about the unintentional states of us. It is a way to see our own emotional loops. Hsüan-te is a series of VA designed to explore the various
aspects of depth, in the realm of Dub. The music on this EP
can be perceived as representing the seasons succeeding
and fulfilling inexhaustibly the natural cycles of creation
and destruction, one after the other, guided by the
elements and their vital force.

With Seeds, Ohm opens up the record with warm chords
and a steady groove suspended in the heavy atmosphere
of a summer day.

GIacomo Pellegrino then invites the listener to follow the
summer sun fading out to make space for regeneration. A deep
repetitive, classic Dub Techno piece hosts Autumn at the end of
Aside.

AGP (Anthony Georges Patrice) brings along the flipside Revenge
Is A Tool For The Weak, as a way to let the power of forgiveness
develop under the ice, as the cymbals start counting down
the time left before the Sun shines again.

Alessandro Crimi closes the record with an epic, highly emotional
majestically simplified piece of Deep Dub to which springtime
itself will not resist to come over for the start of
a new natural cycle.

Next up on a.r.t.less is Viktor Apo with his Regenerate EP hailing from Skopje, with four tracks of finest Detroit Techno made in Macedonia, needless to say his mentor and fellow music friend Stojche can't be prouder about this debut 12".
