Non series turned 10 years last December since its inception in 2011. And we celebrate it with this great, deep, minimalistic, forceful, lethal compilation from friends and artists of the label.

Last Night On Earth kick off 2020 by welcoming the prolific Deadbeat with a special vinyl ‘Deadbeat in Dub’ compilation, featuring a new Sasha exclusive. The DJ/producer, sound artist and music tech educator already has an extensive resume of labels and collaborators including Echocord, Mutek, Sonar, RBMA, and Monolake.

Deadbeat aka Scott Monteith has reworked his eight favourite cuts from the LNOE back catalogue, creating 'dub' interpretations of tracks from Sasha, Hunter/Game, Ejeca, Jody Barr, VONDA7, Alex Niggemann, Jon Gurd and Dubspeeka. The Canadian-born, Berlin-based producer has delivered the dream – reworks which could stand up as single tracks in their own right, while preserving the gravitas of the original cuts. Furthermore, Sasha’s ‘Float Collapse’ is an exclusive track from the label head, never before released.

Along with eleven albums, 20+ singles, countless remixes and collabs, Deadbeat also has a peerless dub archive spanning early Jamaican roots, through the 80s/90s to today’s evolving global scene. His DJ mix ‘Radio Rothko’ in 2010 is rated by various publications as one of the most genre defining mix CDs of all time.

For Deadbeat, his debut for Sasha’s imprint is especially meaningful. ‘I saw Sasha play for the first time in Toronto around 1996, and while we have travelled in quite different musical circles since then, it was a real honour to put this project together. The LNOE catalogue has so many melodically rich dance floor killers, it was a real pleasure to rework them into a more meditative, cerebral mode. Hopefully listeners will savour these new versions in the comfort of their living rooms as so many have enjoyed the originals on the dance floor over the years.’

The Second installment of legendary UK House producer Neil (Nail) Tollidays, Smoke - 'Kemuri No Demo' lands with it's dubbed out yet melodic soundscapes for the dancefloor (or not) as the case may be.... Tolliday sees his Smoke guise as electronic exprements first and formost, but we can't think of anything better than a dark room and the sounds of Kemuri No Demo melting the speakers and filling the air with expansive, warm atmospheric dance music.

This time Repeat Repeat Repeat is bringing you a Darragh Casey release which was originally released in 2010 on the Irish Antiqua Recordings. Listening to the whole material one is soon wondering why this artist hasn't released more music. Xuri EP features a nice mix of darker and lightsome sounds which is topped by a superb Kris Wadsworth remix. Darragh, it's time to get back in the studio!

The musical exchange between Paul Rose (Scuba) and Luke Slater began last summer when the Hotflush boss put his touch to Slater’s 1997 classic ‘Love’, dedicating it to London’s Kings Cross raving institution Bagleys, where he first heard the track. Slater’s gift back to Scuba is similarly stirring, taking his hand to the glistening This Is For You’, an early 2020 highlight.

The ‘Luke Slater Long Version’ serves as a proper electronic jam session charting a course from dubby techno climes, to ecstatic string-laden builds, jazzy introspection and dreamy pads over a thrilling 22 minutes. Epic in every way.

Back from the wilderness. Synth in one hand, long-range camera in the other, techno's most enduring naturist Eulberg returns to Stephan Bodzin's Herzblut.

'Mimikry & Mimese' is every fathom as deep as you'd hope it to be... Both sonically, conceptually and how they draw their influence.

‚Mimikry' is classic Eulberg, several tales bound together into one immersive narrative where melodic phrases that at first appear disparate, gradually correlate with each other by way of delicately placed rhythmic elements and FX. With spiked melodic hooks, the elements display signs of danger, but the heart and soul - like all Eulberg tracks - is warm and friendly.

'Mimese' takes a similar twist to 'Mimikry' in that the melodic arrangement is based on distinct themes that gradually align, morph and complement each other. Deftly developed over a looser drum arrangement with much denser cosmic pads, its yet another unique story told in Eulberg's inimitable way.

Two whirling immersive narratives, two camouflage concepts that reveal, upon closer inspection, that all is not what it seems. Eulberg's adventures into the wilderness continue...

Dub Techno Music in Dubplate Culture. Highly Exclusive.

Khaliphonic 15 is the first full length release from Japanese experimental dub duo Undefined. Well-established as a live act since 2014, and releasing on their own Newdubhall label as well as ZamZam Sounds since 2017, it’s well-past time that their expansive and immersive sound be allowed to span the length of an LP, and this set is nothing short of a triumph.

The powerhouse duo of keyboardist/programmer Sahara (formerly of Heavymanners) and drummer Ohkuma (formerly of Soul Dimension) create an absolutely unique form of dubwise firmly grounded and rooted in rockstone reggae principles, while focusing intently on expansive spaces, subtle inflections, and exploratory minimalism and abstraction - deep dives into the heart of rootical riddim and space. Luminary vocalists Paul St. Hilaire, Rider Shafique, and Ras Dasher were invited on the journey, and the resulting set is absolutely timeless, a crowning achievement in the rich history of reggae, dub, and dub techno in Japan, and the world.

With “Defined Riddim” the two-man band has created something ruff & rugged while somehow delicate and utterly elegant throughout. Undefined honors the roots while taking them in an deeply personal, unconventional and unique direction unburdened by cliches, follow-fashion or any other concerns beyond creating an honest music - dub from the heart. Words fail when trying to describe the richly saturated color and tones of Sahara’s keys & bass; Ohkuma’s drumming is muscular, lithe, incredibly tight & subtle. The two together are nothing short of a force, a single spirit of riddim moving through two individuals with a fully-unified vision, the vision magnified by E-Mura’s (Bim One Production) masterfully restrained mix.

It’s an absolute honor to release this album in physical form, including a bonus 7” featuring the heartfelt vocals of Ras Dasher, who passed away suddenly before he could celebrate the release with us. Undefined and Khaliphonic/ZamZam Sounds dedicate this set to him, and to dearly-departed Naoki E-Jima, whose Disc Shop Zero was the heart of the scene in Japan until he left this plane in 2020. Naoki was also an early, enthusiastic, and steadfast supporter of ZamZam Sounds & Khaliphonic, and we are forever grateful to him and his family for the love they showed us and so many others.

A Sagittarium returns to Rekids this May with ‘Strange Brew EP’

Following his ‘Mazes & Monoliths’ EP on Rekids in 2021, as well as releases on Running Back, Hypercolour, Idle Hands, and Craigie Knowes, the Elastic Dreams boss returns to Radio Slave’s label for another standout three-track EP of colourful and psychedelic cuts.

Leading the release is ‘The Mind Blanks At The Glare’, which sees the Bristolian utilise low-slung breakbeats, bouncing basslines, and fluttering synths for a chugging start to the EP. ‘Don’t Look In The Freezer’ follows with dubbed-out FX and stomping low end, before ‘Cosmic Trigger’ brings hypnotic bass together with trippy, twinkling arps and dreamy pads for a gentle final.

Piezo returns to Facta and K-LONE’s Wisdom Teeth imprint with a 5 track EP of experimental, warping, majestic club music. Since his last outing on the label, the Milanese producer has refined and consolidated his aesthetic considerably: through a spree of crucial releases on his own label, Ansia, and then with the release of his essential debut LP, Perdu (released in 2020 on experimental powerhouse Hundebiss). LSD Superhero sees him bring together the goofy, club-ready aspects of his output on Ansia with the meticulously crafted cybernetic sonics of his debut LP, but with the addition of something new: melody. The title track opens the record with house lights up: glitching percs build around gasseous pads and trembling subs in a drawn out climax that finally collapses into a rolling technoiddembow beat at its midpoint. Next, ‘Unto’ squeezes the producer’s wonky, sub-heavy sonics into a 4x4 template - one of those special 5 am tracks that will appeal equally to dubsteppers and minimal heads. (Remember that time Shackleton appeared on Perlon?). ‘TB2’ - a collaboration with label head K-LONE - balances nectar sweet melodies with bust-up drums and glitching FX hits, while ‘Dijitz’ sees him flex his full melodic knack for an eyes down, half-stepping synth workout. To close, ambient wobbler ‘Xxx^_^x’ refracts bass music sonics into something sprawling and shadowy - like an old Benga track exploded and

Australian label Pocketmoth are back with a new imprint,
‘POCKET’, a V/A series centred on local producers from the
label’s home city, Brisbane Meanjin. For the rst edition, label
heads Quincy Raw and Iti are joined by close friends and
collaborators George and Squidgenini. A diverse yet cohesive
curation of tracks, POCKET 1 is designed to live in the DJ’s
bag.

Stand High Records presents SH008: a brand spanking new 12” with two exclusive “discomix” cuts of Stand High Patrol's last two singles “Same Justice” and “Working Man”. Both tracks have a special link, they were made around the same time period and are of similar nature. These tunes share that special groove and sweetness reminiscent of the Dubadub Musketeerz’s rocksteady productions.

On these two discomix versions, Pupajim’s vocal parts are followed by Merry's trumpets, Mac Gyver then takes things into his own hands and dubs out the riddim! Time stretches and reveals the subtlety of the mix made at Kerwax's studio. Stand High Patrol exploits the riddims without restraint by offering each member of the crew the space to express their skills and inspirations. These two stunning discomix versions are the result of a real collective effort. They were built for Djs, soundsystems and for all those willing to dive into an eight-minute sonic journey!

Mosaic boss Steve O'Sullivan provides some heavyweight Bluetrain business to launch new Isle of Wight based label Lempuyang. The EP kicks off with the stripped down dub of 'Bubble Up', evolving into some heavier shananigans on the flipside. Vocal skits come courtesy of Prince Morella on the B-side opener 'Two Foot Terrorist'. As you'd expect there's no lightweight stuff present here!

As if formed from the vapors of sewer sender's previous releases, Eletun Selona renders two pieces that have roots far down in the ground, while the air above is allowed to escape mysteriously unseen yet obviously present. A1 forms a body of evocative sounds using rhythm as its core, while A2 reminisces the allurement of A1 with enthralling melodies. On the flip side detroit resident segv elevates the embodiment of Eletun Selona's works. The detroit mix decodes the A-side in a sharp manner, while B2 concludes segv's feature with a deep interpretation, wrapping up the release in a solid execution.

Chaos In The CBD return to In Dust We Trust with Brainstorm, a twelve inch with 4 new cuts delving deeper into their take on dub-influenced house. Kicking things off on the A1 is ‘Echolocation’, a track whose groove has you locked from the first bar, subtly building with warm stabs and rhythmic vocals to draw the dance floor in deeper.

‘Liquid Experience’ fuses together dubby low end textures with light meditative melodies for a beautiful slice of ambient dub house.

On the B side, the title track ‘Brainstorm’ - a collaboration with fellow Kiwi ‘Mongo Skato’, is an addictive 7 minute gem that takes you on an immersive journey. Fusing quintessential house hooks with jazz elements, resulting in something truly contemporary.

‘Mind Massage’ closes out the EP with a hazy and comforting groove, creating the perfect tool to set the mood on discerning dance floors.

Freund der Familie broadens its musical scope for this one, exploring the hazier, atmospheric corners of ambient, Balearic, house and dub techno. Consisting of reimaginings from Brawther, Prins Thomas, Markus Suckut and Thomas Fehlmann, Omega's second iteration provides the artists with the space for freedom and expression, giving each of them an entire side of the double LP to explore as they wish

Faithful to the ethos of the label to put new talents on the map, the second E2-E8 release comes from newcomer Hems. A regular punter at underground festivals such as Freerotation and Labyrinth, Hems spends some of his time making great electronic music in his East London cave… And we are very happy to be the first to put his music out.

A fine connoisseur of ambient and electronica, Hems has sometimes featured on the line-ups of Astral Industries parties. This release covers a wide spectrum of his sound. The almost beatless title track Post Radiance opens things up, followed by the subtle dub techno of I Know This Road and by the raw and relentless beat of Dirty Chords. On the B side, Let It Go is a suspended 15-minutes journey clocking in at 140bpm – arguably the highlight of the EP, sounding like little else out there. Madsituation closes the EP, with a nod at lighter atmospheres and a hint at Detroit-influenced strings.

Techno heads will be pleased to hear that the record has already got praises from techno talent Refracted, who loves Let It Go, and from Jane Fitz.
