- Mastered and cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy 'Faith In Strangers' was written and produced between January 2013 and June 2014, and was edited and sequenced in late July this year. Making use of on an array of instruments, field recordings, found sounds and vocal treatments, it's a largely analogue variant of hi-tech production styles arcing from the dissonant to the sublime. The first two tracks recorded during these early sessions bookend the release, the opener 'Time Away' featuring Euphonium played by Kim Holly Thorpe and last track 'Missing' a contribution by Stott's occasional vocal collaborator Alison Skidmore who also appeared on 2012's 'Luxury Problems'.. Between these two points 'Faith In Strangers' heads off from the sparse and infected 'Violence' to the broken, downcast pop of 'On Oath' and the motorik, driving melancholy of 'Science & Industry' - three vocal tracks built around that angular production style that imbues proceedings with both a pioneering spirit and a resonating sense of familiarity. Things take a sharp turn with 'No Surrender'- a sparkling analogue jam making way for a tough, smudged rhythmic assault, while 'How It Was' refracts sweaty Warehouse signatures and 'Damage' finds the sweet spot between RZA's classic 'Ghost Dog' and Terror Danjah at his most brutal. 'Faith in Strangers' is next and offers perhaps the most beautiful and open track here, its vocal hook and chiming melody bound to the rest of the album via the almost inaudible hum of Stott's mixing desk. It provides a haze of warmth and nostalgia that ties the nine loose joints that make up the LP into the most memorable and oddly cohesive of Stott's career to date, built and rendered in the spirit of those rare albums that straddle innovation and tradition through darkness and light.

The third release on Tel Aviv duo Deep'a & Biri's Black Crow label comes from Israeli talent Hakimonu. Having first emerged in 2007, Hakimonu has since initiated his own self-titled imprint, with over twenty releases from him and his close circle of like-minded friends since 2010. With a stated intention to 'explore the experience of infinity through sound & music", Hakimonu's debut Black Crow release should bring his intelligent fusion of techno, ambient, dub, jazz and acid to wider attention. Far more than a pair of dub techno excursions, the EP's original tracks Insular Realms and Jiriki retain a tougher, more experimental edge while encouraging listeners to explore the minute details in the spaces between the more prevalent elements of the tracks. The EP enlists Ed Davenport (under his Inland guise) and Black Crow bosses Deep'a & Biri for remix duties, with Davenport's dancefloor-rework of Insular Realms continuing his impressive run of form which has included hugely accomplished releases for Mosaic, his own Counterchange label and, as Inland, his collaboration with Function on their co-run Infrastructure New York. Deep'a & Biri meanwhile maintain their own high standards with their propulsive remix of Insular Realms, offering a less rough-hewn yet no less effective club-ready version.

The second release of the Label "Baud" from Tom Dicicco, who lives in Manchester, brings us the two tracks "material things" and "empire", concluded by a remix of "material things" by PatrickGraeser, who already attract attention on Liebe*detail.

After several years of dropping 12 inches on Ann Aimee, and the well received album 'Traces' on Delsin, he felt it was the right time to launch his own imprint: Radio Matrix.

What is it about
Radio Matrix will represent the sound of Friesland and the city of Leeuwarden.
The core of the label will be based around producers from the city of Leeuwarden (The Netherlands). So far, releases have been scheduled from VC-118A, Area Forty One and of course the man himself. Next to that, EP's are lined up from guys who haven't had a release yet, but who are fuelling the local scene of Friesland for more than a decade now. But as Radio Matrix is not strictly limited to the borders of Friesland, befriended and like-minded producers will contribute as well.
As dedicated record junkies, everything will of course be pressed on vinyl. However, digital files will be made available as well, so you don't need to visit dodgy torrent sites.

How does that sound like
Drumcomputers and synthesizers. Somewhere on the borders of (classic) techno, house and electro, without sounding too retro.

Giorgio Gigli achieves his debut album after a personal path grown with his work on Zooloft Records. In the same way his dj sets reflect the spirit of that evolution. He explores sophisticated ambient layers as much as obsessive and hypnotic techno landscapes. The Right Place Where Not To Be' is the title of this first full-length sonic movie', a work emerging from the depth of his soul that filters, in a proper way, every musical input he developed over the years. A scenario where human and animal life-form perished and only plants and minerals survived. Giorgio performs that concept writing an ultra-detailed soundtrack, using rich textures that hide secret acoustics, nhanced by alienating atmosphere that captivate the listener. The album is focused on obsessive rhythmics cut on low frequency, a persistent motion, a stable tremor, world exclaiming its life-forms in so far as details the missing ones. Sky is darkened by dub clouds and stratified sonics that electrify space around. Blooming sensations that cover a wide spectrum, alternating feverish tension to lights of trust. Confines are dejected, techno meets ambient, throwing up an amniotic fluid which is immersed our unconscious. A sonic bubble from a faraway era, a timeless atmosphere that describes a vision that seems to answer to most important question: why Giorgio brilliantly manages the hard task of creating an album that describes in a cinematic manner a surreal concept with no loss of tension. LP is enhanced by a stylish Triple Gatefold with evocative artwork that expresses Giorgio's thoughts. A sequence of mountains dominated by clouds of a clear sky, depths of flowers, the tinged memory of a wonderful past. Photography by Marcello and Alessandro Gianvenuti was created with B/N poses from an old Hasselblad, somewhere in the Dolomites, and enhanced by watercolour-painted textures at a later stage. Whole graphical project is curated by Studio Lord Z.

Dutch producer Mohlao is next up on Shipwreck offshoot Deep Sound Channel with a four track EP that showcases his specialist dub techno style. It follows on from top releases by Albert Van Abbe and Mike Parker, and means the label starts 2015 in style. Before now the Dutchman has released on labels like Meanwhile and Other Heights, as well as working as VC-118A on Lunar Disko Records and Tabernacle. This four track EP kicks off with 'Cladistic Mutation', a sparse underwater soundtrack with only the gentlest suggestion of rhythm, lots of reverb and tiny little details that float by like micro-bacterial debris. 'M2' is a more beat driven dub track but is still way below the surface: the kicks are smooth and hunched over, the chords are smeared out in all directions and the atmosphere is lo-fi and grainy. On the flip, 'Grain' gets even more energetic, with firm techno kick drums setting a stern tempo as all sorts of aqueous details and spacious effects pepper the groove. There's a heavenly nature to the pads and an industrial texture to the percussion that makes this a cerebral but physical affair from start to finish. Lastly, 'Neurowaves' closes things down in blissfully dubbed out and horizontal fashion, with large sweeping pads, tweaked filters and evocative little details all placing you firmly under water. Just like the label name suggests, this is seriously deep, comforting and escapist music for the heads.

When you listen to this EP you cannot keep yourself stable. Your heart pulsates like a bat out of the hell, your blood boils for the rhythm, your soul lingers on one side to the other of the room where your body tries to check the discharge of adrenaline as it emerges.
It reminds me of a film or a video set in the years 90' where a human being, without the effect of drugs, succeeded in penetrating the depths of their own intimacy.
This EP, constructed of 3 tracks, is the antidote to the pain of the day. It's the apotheosis of the night time, it's for the people that don't ask anything else other than to live a true trip riding the boundaries of their own conscience.

Fifth single from the duo Altarboy. Side A: 'The marathon thing' is slow and esoteric track with a long break in which the roman producers rise and fall of bpm. The song takes you on a world reminiscent of memory lane's horror movies. The B-side 'Blackmail' is a techno bomb with references to the early 90s. Wonder Wet could not be more clear than that. Through dense layers of noise, brittle beats, found sounds and a general haze, Francis Harris returns to his own Scissor and Thread imprint, with the aid of frequent collaborator, and longtime friend, guitarist Gabe Hedrick, under the guise Aris Kindt. Following Harris' 2014 sophomore solo album, Minutes of Sleep,' (named Electronic Album of the Year by Mojo Magazine,) the duo's quintessential album debut, Floods,' takes as its focus, the late author W.G. Sebald's profound interpretation of Rembrandt's 1632 master work, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. Floods' is a sonic journey into the heart of the body, a bold rejuvenation of Adriaan Adriaanszoon (Aris Kindt), once a mere cadaver on a cold metal slab, now a living breathing human at the heart of a creative shift in vantage point from object to active subject. Much in the same way Rembrandt intended with the painting itself, Floods' attempts to subvert the listeners memory of a moment. Written within a span of over a year using an 808, a modular eurorack and two guitars, Floods' was mixed at Keyclub Recording Company in late August with Engineer Bill Skibbe. The album charts new territory for both Harris and Hedrick, melding a long history with electronic music and youthful love for indie noise, weaving in and out of near silence and sheering walls of sound with a gentle and constant heartbeat at its core. The dream-like murk of album opener Now Grey' sets the tone with thick pads, distant, ghostly guitar work and fragmented drums. On the title track, dubby chords set the tone, as subdued toms amble forward, with a crackling of fire nearby, as a dense sounds echo and swirl around into a climactic frenzy. Blue Sky Shoes' hypnotizes with its submerged strings and subaquatic patterning, as synths rain down like streaks breaking the surface.

Oolong atmosphere and pirate broadcast vibes collide on what Juno Plus calls "a strange borderland between ambient dub listening and functional rhythmic content." 200 copies.

The second WRLTD vinyl is from the collaboration between Wunderblock and Michael Chernev a.k.a Arcuation. The EP starts with the amazing remix from Darren Roberts a.k.a. Deepbass. It presents his unique dark hypnotic sound combined with the effective driven techno groove. Samuele Costa a.k.a. Scam. delivers the second remix, which is also dark and atmospheric with some propulsive jacking dubbed out drums. On the B-side, there are 2 remixes from Wunderblock: Mikroplexmix, with its mesmerising swirling atmosphere and punching rhythm, and more relaxing, deep and spaced-out remix with co-production of Vladimir Kochenov a.k.a. Acrob, also the member of Wunderblock crew.

Michal Wolski returns to Blank Slate to deliver another EP. Blank Slate 011 is a continuation of Wolski's signature dubby minimalist strain of techno. The Warsaw veteran's ability to summon
thick hypnotic ambience makes his compositions instantly recognizable. Wolski's patience and subtlety summons a nuanced version of power. The EP begins with Midnight Train, which was released originally on cassette on Wolski's own
label Minicromusic. An airy mystique evolves into a melodic bliss, garnished with ride cymbals that seem to rain down from the sky. Magnitude is a return to Woslki's proclivity for the psychodramatic. Broken percussion lays the foundation for a journey into the expansiveness of space. Sporadic harmonic jabs and eerie vapors bubble up from the earth itself. No Mind
summons the power and density of an engine. Built on a foundation of chugging percussion, it commands a mirage of mechanical layers which ow in and out of focus. The EP closes with Eightfold Path; a hypnotic drum line propels the track through an atmosphere lush with the tension of pressurized air. Thunderous stabs roll in from afar until they're right overhead —
claps and groans provide only momentary relief from the storm.

New on the Delsin X-Series is My Home is Sonic, a standout techno, dub and minimal album originally released in 2001 by Icelandic producer Arnvidur Snorrason aka Exos on AE Recordings. Exos is the son of dub techno producer Octal and released three albums in his career, as well as a swathe of fine EPs on labels like Thule, Mosaic, Slow to Speak and has recently being picked up by Nina Kraviz. His ability to build great atmospheres and heady soundscapes was unrivalled, and though they bottle up influences, they are always fresh, wintry and compelling. Few have done minimal dub techno better before or since this masterpiece album, so it's right that 2015 sees it revisited by fans old and new alike.

Part 2 of this very special series by SWAYZAK. After the magnificent success of Part 1 Swayzaks David Brown is back with another 2 tracker which shows why he is still the brilliant master craftman of pure deepness and previously unattainable quality.

The first vinyl release on Abandoned Audio, the new sub-label from 31337 Records, Ezekiel Honig's 'A Film of String & Wood' continues his form of refracted, geographically oriented, electroacoustics. Sitting in a background of field recordings and incidental real-world objects, textured piano and horns act as cement for chunky, yet subdued rhythms that fall over themselves and snap back into place. Obsession Recordings presents their second release - a killer split EP between Primitive World and Yør.

Primitive World's 'Purple Caps' opens proceedings - a PCP laced exercise in paranoia, a jerking filtered loop oscilates around a thumping kick and intermittent percussive bursts, while looming minor chords offer the only brief respite from the heavily swung and distorted bassline. 'Tides Of Lust'' 's protean techno ups the urgency with the phantom punch of its caustic toms, skittering percussion and low-res tones that ride the steady pulse of the 808 subs.

'Rites Of Passage Pts. 1& 2' see Yør delivering steady neo-equatorial rhythms - pt1. finds A constant throbbing bass and ritualistic percussion cut through w/ suggestive whispers and breaths that weave throughout as the track vibrates with intensity, capped off by a restrained acid line and rolling snares. Pt 2. rounds out the package with a cut both jacking and haunting in equal measure - just below the surface of the rolling 909 and post-detroit chords, are the rogue cry of the abstracted re rendered voices and whistling that swim through its duration.

After "Trawler Crossing" in 2013, CVBox teams up with long time companion and musical soul mate Micha Freier for his next record. "Transparency" is CVBox through and through with long meandering bass lines and spacey synth climaxes. Techno jams that you can dance to with closed eyes. The first track "Blinking Lights" rides on a warm bass line, which is accompanied by perky synth swirls before a subtle but ultra effective snare comes in halfway through. "Bad Gate Way" is less straightforward but with its stuttering beats and spooky pads it recalls a time when Techno was all about trying out new things and creating ambiances that you can literally dive into. "Playwatch" comes with delay-driven synths and grasping rhythms and builds up to a majestic Techno track that is heavy on the dance floor. Finally, "XOXO" lurks around at first before it gets you with irresistible pads that bring things to a peaceful end. This is machine music with soul. After over six years in the Dutch techno scene Kevin Arnemann is beginning a new chapter in his career. The time has arrived for Arnemann to give back to the scene through the launch of his own record label, Taped Artifact, this April. Together with graphic designer Daan Kemp, they have created a platform that transcends the conventional boundaries of record labels today. This project will focus on visual art in addition to quality and top-notch music. The foundation of this label is built off of personal and artistic expression as well as limitless experimentation that will stimulate all human senses. This unique venture will give the freedom to its contributors to move freely through all fields of creativity and innovation. In addition to Arnemann's productions, Taped Artifact will feature releases from a selection of artists that think outside the box and are not confined by genre. The main focus for this label is to allow the artists to focus on incorporating aesthetics with atmospheric and profound sounds that will capture the attention of listeners around the world. The first release will come from Kevin Arnemann himself. Known for his uncompromising techno sets, this release will showcase his deeper side by delivering three profound excursions.

For as long as I can remember, my mother has been telling stories. Her sharing these stories with me helped me to find ways to open doors to creativity. My mother is still a little girl, wandering through the woods. Now with grey hair and a slower pace to her walk, but still with the same vibrating force of imagination and the same love for the stories that comes to her. Release no.9 for Fof's deeper house offshoot with 'Black Dynamite' bustin' out a 4 tracker of fine house music. 'Busted Loop' is a stripped down, low slung infectious grind, 'Mother's Love' a slo-mo burner with sampled vocal snatches of a classic soul singer.

Opening up with the gentle yet solidly throbbing First Floor, the story begins in what could easily be the early hours of the Berghain. Or perhaps it's an industrial landscape of the not so distant future. Either way, the cinematic tone of the story begins here as the Italian duo move forward on their journey... Next stop is Places, a space filled with shuffled breakbeats and emotional synths, peppered with vocals that hint at a nostalgia for another time and place. Somewhere we've been before Somewhere we might be going Like a literary foreshadowing of things to come. And in an instant, the pace quickens. As Running Searching begins so do we shoot directly into the heart of things. Here Chasing Kurt joins the crew, his vocals coming in like a soulful rallying cry bolstered by deep bass and arepeggiated synths that urge us all ever ahead. Onward. Upward. A truly standout moment. Now energized, Subterfuge seems to move the journey downwards and upwards simultaneously. As we step into a dreamy underground place where the beat moves us forward but the space between the synths keeps us looking all around in wonder. Voices surround us, subtly hinting at a story we might now slowly begin to piece together... But before we can get our footing and our heads around what is happening the dreamscape seems to shift and The Quiet Hour begins. With help from talented Italian producer, Avatism, the journey takes a dramatic and animated turn into slow driving techno. This is a textured soundscape energized by drums that might sound inspired from the influences of the past but are clearly crafted with sounds pulled from the future. From here we arrive at Prisms, an interlude that at first seems relaxed until you realize that with just a combination of arpeggiated synths, percussive elements and noises plucked from the ether you are smack in the middle of a piece of music that somehow wraps it's emotion around a moving image that moves you with it. Doing it all without the standard straightforward push of the 4/4 kick and yet always propelling us ahead. Moving up another level to the Second Floor, the four to the floor kick returns and we've stepped back into the club without ever leaving the story behind. The emotion remains but the beat reemerges with a sythesized tonal percussion that sets the stage for a modern tale of tribal warfare. The urban jungle is its landscape and the dancefloor is the domain where it reigns over all. The perfect counterpoint comes next as Clarian joins the team with his fervent announcement, This World Is Not Designed For Us. Beautiful vocals, melodies and synths are accompanied by disjointed beats that still somehow stay in lockstop with its narrative. A distress call from the youth of today looking to find their place in an ever confusing world. Oblique, which follows, answers this call like a shot fired into the night. A forceful piece of dancefloor material that works well both in a room full of a thousand or a room of only one. It showcases solid beats that rest firmly in your body while the airy high end of plucky synths and melody that arrive like the blowing of Gabriel's trumpet across the airwaves of the heavens to land directly in the listener's lap, creating a mood that is oblique perhaps but certainly anything but inaccessible. After the blunt energy of its predecessor, Hidden Spectator seems at first to flip the mood but then takes us slowly back up with a soundscape that builds from an ambience to a dull roar, keeping the emotional level high as we take just a slight pause from the beats before heading back into the fray... Then we're back as False Matters launches us even higher into the techno stratosphere. The hardest hitting track of the trip, we're at full force here with a nod to Detroit and its Underground Resistance but never losing the unique sonic footprint that Clockwork have created throughout the voyage. A solid groove that build and builds and builds and builds and never lets us down.

How to follow such raw energy With beauty it seems, as Lost Keys brings label mates Tale of Us onboard to begin to wrap up the chronicle. The beats stay strong but here become more shuffled and emotive as they are accompanied by keys that are not so much lost as pleading. Brimming with feeling as this pairing of friends and artistic peers shine through with an emotional maturity that seems only appropriate as one reaches the end of this kind of journey. A real achievement. And then, like all good stories, the end must come. But if it's not a disappointment that's a testament to the forlorn beauty of One Way Ticket. The best kind of send off, its haunting guitar strikes a deep emotional chord that keeps ringing in our minds long after the last of the melody has faded away. The story may be over but it still remains living somewhere deep inside of us. Just as we remain eager to hear it retold once again...

embarking upon a journey into the unknown, where only the journey is the reward - not the destination. a road trip into distance. towards the horizon. getting in motion and never standing still.

this album - my first one - is a product of my own journey towards distance. my time-out at the other side of the atlantic ocean - 6 months in new york. this imagination and experience has filled me with positive energy. i found myself in a new situation full of self-determination and concentration (revive). In order to structure this idle space (empty quarter) for me i dedicated the early morning hours with a calm and alert mind to exclusively making music. no interruption, no distraction entered these bright morning hours (region luminous), during which this album was created. during this window i went on a musical expedition, i developed new ways of creating music and finally found the content and form of expression with which I wanted to fill this space (towards distance).

my dearly beloved blueberry granola (layers & blueberries) gave me perfect energy for these early hours and served as inspiration for for the track of the same name.

during this phase i wanted fully engage in the journey without looking too far ahead and without expecting anything too precisely. i tried to focus more on why i wanted to do what i did than how to do it."

CLR is back with release number 83 and has something very special in store this time. Monoloc's latest effort offers a challenging mixture of various electronic music genres. Apart from the original version and the Monoloc Edit, which occupy the A side of the vinyl, two highly respected producers have contributed remixes to this project, making it an impressive assembly of potential A sides.

Monoloc's original version underlines the capacity of the Berlin based producer, to create unorthodox, suspenseful Techno with a very personal handwriting. Once more the beat structure, treatment of vocal bits, the selection of sounds and the overall arrangement and production style make his productions easily recognizable and truly unique. His additional edit surprises with a mesmerizing and enchanting sequence, which could easily become one of those laid back after hour sunrise classics. The two versions alone would make a dignified EP already, but then there are the remixes by Roman Lindau and Rødhåd, which turn this release into one of the most diversified CLR releases ever. While Roman Lindau takes a House oriented direction and excellently works out the potential of the track on the more uplifting side of the musical spectrum, Berghain resident Rødhåd explores the dark side of Monoloc's composition and delivers a haunting Techno version full of well balanced bass, phasing sequences and an irresistible, almost tribal rhythm structure.

CLR083 is one of those releases that characterises the direction the label has taken over the last years and is equally interesting to DJs from all kinds of stylistic branches of the scene. It´s available on vinyl as well as digitally and will surely grace countless record bags and playlists all over the world.

For our fourth release we proudly welcome Amsterdam based Tommy Kornuijt and Robin Kampschoer with their debut EP on Moving Vibrations.

Tommy Kornuijt started his musical journey a long time ago, firstly as a drummer/percussionist of a Dutch band. But the love for house was always there. He has left a valuable impression over the past years with his deep and funky approach on dance music while DJ-ing around Europe. He started producing about two years ago to finally bring his musical perspective to life.

Robin Kampschoer started to experiment with composing music using drum machines, synthesizers, and other analogue equipment in 1998. In 2000, this resulted in performing live acts of which he is now recognised for. Today, while combining hardware of the past with digital tools of today, he has been playing around the world for over a decade. Robin is known for a distinctive music style, which varies between funky and deep Detroit- techno and minimalistic dub.

Tommy Kornuijt and Robin Kampschoer teamed up about a year ago and were inspired to set the tone with their vision of definite, timeless electronic music, of which 'Cosmic Laws' EP gives substance to a solid joint effort.


COSMIC LAWS: A 9 minute space odyssey of infinite sound elements drifting over a elementary yet funky bass-line. It moves you deep into the dub-techno universe and leaves you with the origin of it all; a burst of pure (cosmic) love.

NUBIAN PRINCESS: This very first solo track by Tommy Kornuijt brings him back to his roots. Combining dubby percussions and flowing synths with sparkling keynotes; 'Nubian Princess' is a harmonizing and deeply reviving tune.

Time is running...and it seems like we just woke up out of our interstellar sleep-mode as we are facing the arrival of the 14th edition of the almighty COCOON RECORDINGS COMPILATION. Starting with the letter 'A' we reached 'N' meanwhile which probably marks one of the longest running techno-compilation-series ever around. The list of the featured artists is amazing and almost endless. Big names like Funk D'Void, Alter Ego, Michael Mayer, Steve Bug, DJ Rush, Adam Port, Christian Smith, Nina Kravitz, Henrik Schwarz or Argy can be found here. Not to forget some of the biggest players in the circus like Sven Väth, Anthony Rother, Extrawelt, Timo Mass, Radio Slave or Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Koze, Dubfire and even Berlin's Basic Channel mastermind Moritz Von Oswald! With the new 'Compilation N' we will add even more big names side by side to some fresh and promising ones. Let's start with Konstantin Sibold & Leif Müller who gave us 'Kolibri", a great slowed down techno-tune that brings us back to the high days of Alter Ego when Harthouse released big listening and electronica albums. Track number two by Julian Perez follows that feeling and explores the deep and dubby sides of techno, too. A perfect transition to Frankfurt homeboy Markus Fix. It's dub again however spiced up with hypnotic strings and a clubby kickdrum shaking our bass bins! With track number four, 'Compilation N' opens the door to proper and kicking club music.

The Lone Roamer is the experimental and deep side of Riccardo D'Agostini, inspired by a dystopian world in which almost all the life forms are dead after an unspecified event. Wandering alone through that devastated world is not just a physical act, it is a real personal and deep journey.

Riccardo freely expressed his feelings in this release, without being affected by definite genres. It follows that the original tracks are a mix of techno and progressive, ambient and drones, hard kicks and pads... Area Forty_One and Sonitus Eco complete this release, with their own interpretation of loneliness and desolation. These awesome remixes fit perfectly the mood of The Lone Roamer, strengthening that feelings.

Riccardo started this project like an experimental alias more than one year ago and these tracks are the first of the series. The decision to print them despite the growth of the project in this year comes exactly from the experimental and mutable nature of the project itself: in the following months you will listen to more recent productions, but now, The Lone Roamer wants to present himself from the beginning.
