Chicago's Ricardo Miranda makes his debut for the ace Stilove4music label, maintaining a fine year in which he has already dropped some serious heat on Rush Hour sub-label Hour House Is Your Rush and his own Noble Square imprint. Title track "102point 7" is all jagged synths, throbbing arpeggios, slashing claps and a rolling acid groove, marking it out as one of his most incendiary productions to date. On the flip "Rotary Cells" is deeper still, a 909-led jacker with undulating layers of sub bass augmented by a wonderfully woozy vocal which extols the virtues of true Chicago House. This is followed by "Greenline", a stripped back jam with scuttling hats and the kind of paranoid synth melody that wouldn't sound out of place in Jeff Mills' Something In The Sky series. This is dark, raw, pulsating dance music - highly recommended.

Francesco Baudazzi, sometimes known as Obtane amongst other secretive pseudonyms, is an electro-acoustic sound artist hailing
from the Tyrrhenian coast between La Spezia and Carrara on the West Coast of Italy and is renowned for producing truly dark
atmospheric and droning conceptual music, enlivened with subtle, spacious field recordings and analogue synthesis.

The EP starts with 'ABCM', a dystopian landscape of buzzing machines, ticking percussion and raw drums that builds and builds until eventually coalescing into a foreboding and roughshod house groove. The sound of circling space ships, dangling glass tubes and other odd effects flesh out the groove into something really quite intense.

'Dystopia' continues in Yør's tradition of contrary titles, because it's in fact a soothing cut doused in ambiance that relaxes you after the agro ride that went before. There are some bumpy beats underneath the whole thing but the large spaces above are what mostly occupy your mind, before 'Fear And Desire' comes over like a deep, spare Redshape cut: searching synths, a fine grain texture and plenty of disheveled Detroit vibes.

Closer 'Phaedra's Love' is a scuffed deep house kicker with delicate tambourines, somber buried melodies and a only the faintest sense of optimism muffled in its concealed core... Modern Slaves Of Contemporary Contexts, then, is another great EP from an unordinary sonic world.

Here we are with the first Curle of 2012, after a lengthy but refreshing hibernation. To wake up slowly but surely, we picked out these two fine dubby techno tunes. The A-side is kinda housey even. Man at work is Resoe from Copenhagen, a fixture on the Danish Echocord label. He is also a part of Pattern Repeat and runs his own Baum imprint. We will release this one on limited transparent green & white mixed vinyl.

In his first full release for Quintessentials, ìOne night on mare streetî, Toby blends his love for House and Disco and shows again his true class. What counts for Toby Tobias counts for the remixers too: they have their own sound!

After his sublime remix for Hitsafe's ,Let the Acid Out' on Shaddock's first release, Tin Man makes a deadly return to Shaddock Records, delivering his most dancefloor oriented record to date.

This is a very heavy minimal track, reminiscent more than anything else, of "deep-down-into-dub" artists like Quantec or Marco Furstenberg. It retains the musical atmosphere of the original material while turning it into one of those intense and evocative slow heavy techno moments, with a relaxed mood and a subtle progression.
