After a few good years of releases on labels such as the Catz’n’Dogz founded PETS or unforgettable hit ‘Turnaround' made it together with SLG for Play It Down, Smolny has started his own imprint called Bourassa Records.
‘Explain’ EP is the first release on the label and you can definitely call it bangin’ stuff! All the tracks are inspired by UK Dub and techno sounds. Smolny concentrated on the strong and soft bass line in the same time which literally vibrates and floats on the filter. In a balanced way, it gives tension in the tracks of well-arranged drums that kick you at the right moment. In each of them we can also hear a hypnotic vocal cuts that gives you slight anxiety and mysterious aura.
After five years Patrice W. returns with a new vinyl on Delude Records. On these release are four brand new tracks with a lot of new fresh techno and tech house grooves.
On the A side are the track GRAVITY and SOLAR, very good techno tracks with nicely arranged tech house elements.
On the B side are the tracks RADIATION, a nice melodic tech house hot stepper with good synthesizer sound and COSMIC, a very beautiful dreamy track in PATRICE W. style.

Crosstown Rebels welcome Tochno Techno label owner Yulia Niko to release her first full EP, Paradise, a captivating three track EP featuring jazz bossanova vocalist Sil Romero and Italian talent Cioz on remix duty. Opening track Caminando encapsulates Yulia’s inspiration from walking on the White Isle of Ibiza where she spent the last year living. The hypnotising deep house melody of swirly synth pads and Sil Romero’s beautiful dreamy vocals wash over skipping percussion in an emotive composition. Cioz puts his own melodic stamp on the remix, creating a progressive club piece with bright keys over a reshaped bass line. Paradise continues the warm, ethereal atmosphere of the EP, bongos dance on hats as lush, relaxing tones fade in and out. Russian-born DJ, producer and label owner, Yulia Niko learned her trade in the clubs of her hometown before moving to the US to work as a resident DJ at Verboten, Brooklyn and Heart in Miami. Now touring the world, she is based in Berlin and runs a vinyl only label, Tochno Techno. She has also released on other esteemed labels such as Get Physical Music, Nervous, Heisenberg, Natura Viva and Dee-P-erfect.
Industrial Doom Hardcore, or maybe Hardtechno at some point but anyway not too speed, very fat, crunchy and defenitly Hardcore in the spirit.
Renowned Frankfurt-based producer Anthony Rother delivers an otherworldly release on Rekids offshoot, Stranger in The Night.
Very few electronic music artists stand the test of time but German electro pioneer and visionary, Anthony Rother, is one of them.
Whether running labels like Psi49Net, Stahl Industries and Datapunk or working alongside the likes of Sven Väth, DJ Hell and Kraftwerk’s Karl Bartos, Rother’s legacy stands tall. Having made recent appearances on DVS1’s Mistress or Danny Daze’s OMNIDISC, Rother now connects with Stranger In The Night, joining a tight roster of luminaries including King Britt, Fred P and label boss Radio Slave.
‘We Are The Future’ opens the package with sci-fi synths, a decaying vocal and arpeggiated highs, before ‘Super Future Metropolis’ continues the theme with ultramodern vocoding and industrial drum patterns.
Following on, ‘The Message’ sweeps in with laser-like stabs and a leading lyrical sample until two new perspectives conclude the package: the multi-layered ‘We Are The Future (D-Cut)’ with it's intricate keys and a ‘Space Mix’ of ‘The Message’ which widens
the audio journey with lightly flowing pads.

Borusiade's Misfits of Broken Dreams puts a futuristic twist on industrial electronics, fusing it with spaced out drones and detached, yet bold spoken word by the artist herself. Rugged tribal rhythms and rumbling bass complete the picture, and you're left with an immersive ride leaving you somewhere inbetween fight-or-flight and gloomy despondency.

DJ Nigga Fox’s most substantial release to date sets a new benchmark for Lisbon’s revered underground ghetto dance scene, pulling traces of jazz, acid house and cinematic sound design
into his deeply rugged and exceptional sound with effortless style. Highlighted as one to watch in Lisbon’s virulent club scenius since appearing on the ‘Bazzerk’ compilation which introduced many
ravers to Kuduro in 2011, DJ Nigga Fox’s productions have become acclaimed for a mix of abstract weirdness and proper dancefloor impact that’s hit ‘floors hard across the world. Following 2018’s
‘Crânio’ 12” and remix of How To Dress Well, he now returns to the Príncipe powerhouse, home of his first trio of 12”s, with a definitive statement that arguably ranks among this year’s strongest,
rhythm-driven LPs, bar none.
In a way that mirrors UK dance music’s transition in the ‘90s from hardcore jungle to garage and D&B, or in the ‘00s from grime and dubstep to more “sophisticated” styles of deep house,
broken beats and UK Funky, Nigga Fox’s longest release to date appears more layered, plusher and, ultimately “musical” when compared to his earlier work. Using sparing but knowing dabs
of noirish jazz keys, live-sounding double bass and expressively off-kilter synth tones, he binds rippling, colourful flesh to his flexing, bare bones drum torque in a way that boldly blazes a trail for his local scene without ever losing sight of what makes it so thrilling in the first place.
This inch-tight refinement of Nigga Fox’s already distinctive style is characterised by the twisting,
unpredictable arrangement of ’Sub Zero’, where stealthy waves of swingeing drums and vintage horror movie tropes are ramped with feral electro scuzz to killer effect, or equally in the freaky tension between lissom jazz chords, jaws-harp buzz and wild acid lines on ‘Faz A Minha’, and likewise the way he meshes roiling drums with complex, asymmetric electronics on ‘Vicio’, or simply forges his own, outstanding form of slow, psychedelic dance-pop replete with his own,
Quasimodo-Styled vocal in the shocking closer ‘5 Violinos.’
By any measure ‘Cartas Na Manga’ is a singular album-length EP that stands miles out from the crowd. Its only comparisons really lie within Lisbon’s club scene, with the likes of DJ Firmeza,
Marfox or Nervoso. As such it’s best taken as symptomatic of their collective scenius, and is keenly ready to be mixed with music from all corners of the Black Atlantic.

Fur Coat return to their own imprint Oddity with 'The Sequel' EP, backed by a huge remix from Rekids' Radio Slave.
Venezuelan and now Barcelona-based duo Fur Coat have been steadily carving our their own brand of melodious Techno over the past few years. Initially rising up the ranks via releases on Crosstown Rebels, BPitch, and Last Night On Earth the duo have recently turning their focus to their own imprint Oddity, amongst output on Berlin institution Watergate and Joseph Capriati's label Redimension.
'Stargazing' leads the package with entrancing, rising arpeggios, choppy bass hits and murky bass textures all dynamically unfolding around a weighty drum groove. 'Orbital' follows, stripping things back to a more refined, atmospheric feel via soft synth flutters, swirling echoes and eerie, unfolding bass licks.
Radio Slave's '9118 Remix' of 'Plaid' follows next, employing a robust amen break driven rhythm, glitched out synth lines and underlying strings steadily building tension throughout. The original mix of 'Plaid' continues the EP, dropping the tempo and laying focus on old school IDM tropes via multi-layered pads, bass and off-kilter drums.

Hyperlacrimae is a porn-ceptual industrial project by Erminio Granata and Carmine Laurenza focused on melancholic, dreamy, erotic wave tendencies, based on illusory memories.
“Through the lies of Mr. Nasotti" can represent a clear link between modern industrial music, sludgy ambient and bleary post-punk and darkwave resonances.
The main aim is to spread the word of Mr. Nasotti, describing his world in all its aspects: weird habits, dirty perversions, nostalgic thoughts and a strong anti-crowd attitude.
So, if you’re into twisted metallic drum machines, cavernous atmospheres and noisy body arpeggios, if you like the murkier corners of electronic body music, you’ll be surely into this.

Concentric Circles presents ''For the Moment'', which features tracks from some of Di Stefano's early cassette releases, as well as a number of unheard explorations of Indian polyrhythms from the early 90s. Di Stefano’s prescient and unique work will appeal to fans of Cybe, Joel Graham, UnknownmiX, Zru Vogue, and provides a fascinating view of the 80s US electronic underground.
American-born, Japan-based composer John Di Stefano self-released a number of cassettes as part of the 80s DIY underground on his own imprint Oktron Produktions, including Klang's Drift, a collaboration with Joel Graham.
Living in San Francisco, Di Stefano had access to multiple University electronic music studios, where he had an impressive array of synthesizers at his fingertips, including both Buchla and Serge modular systems. Combining his knowledge of modular synthesis with a background in percussion, his early releases were a uniquely human approach to electroacoustic music, with flourishes of post punk in the mix. Di Stefano developed an interest in world music, studying Indian music theory and tabla, and after an extended trip to Indonesia in the mid 80s, he was particularly drawn to Javanese gamelan music. Future recordings would forever be indebted to the sounds he heard during those travels.

Off the back of his killer album release, LOMA, Throwing Snow returns to Houndstooth for a fiery, politically charged EP; The Death of Pragmatism.
As tension continues to rise in the UK around the Brexit debate, Throwing Snow channels the aggression into a 4-track release - showcasing some of his most intense work to date. To be released on the 1st November, the day after Brexit is executed, the EP opens with a percussive-driven record ‘Nought To Gain’. The idea is built around Ross Tones (AKA Throwing Snow) looking into the dramatic system modifications at play that change landscapes as a whole and when ’the supposed benefits of that modification no longer apply as there is now a different structure in place - there is nought to gain and all to lose’.
The second track, ‘The Righteous Mind’, is named after Jonathan Haidt’s book subtitled ‘Why Good People are separated by Politics and Religion’. ‘His approach explains the current schisms and could act as a mediator for angry voices’, Ross says, giving a better understanding of the single as it allows for a moment of reflection before leading into ‘Ideolog’ - an ominous soundscape circling back to Throwing Snow’s half time DnB influences.
‘When staring into the abyss, a great orator speaks of utopias and rose-tinted cocoons. Ideologues are intrinsically reductionist, degrading the complexity of every single issue. Meshed interrelations are ignored, in favour of quasi-religious furore. Basically, it’s a shit idea to follow them’.
Rounding off with ‘The Death of Pragmatism’, a climatic syncopated record focused on glass-shattering beats and piercing synths, Ross cites the world of Gödel and unyielding ideologies which suffer from their complex consequences. ‘Assessing the foreseeable aftermath within a broader context is a map through the madness. Otherwise it’s the death of Pragmatism’.
The artwork features Phillippa Battye’s sculptures representing a concept. ‘The shape will look different depending on the observer’s position, which is isomorphic to viewing a debate or issue from different ideological standpoints. Different moral axioms result in different vistas. The sculpture is both block rectangles and warm circles.

After 10 vinyl releases exploring the leftfield side of electronic music, No Suit Records enters a new era with a new serie of Split EPs. Two artists per EP, offering a wider color palette, stretching styles and genres.
Cabasa is back on No Suit Records after the launch of a successful live act and many appearances in festivals and high profile clubs around Europe. On this release Cabasa navigates between luscious atmosphere, broken beats and polyrythmic patterns.
Crystal Clear is made of soft melodies and tickling bass —it is a reminiscence of the 00’s downtempo apogee and an invitation to accept your inner melancholy. More Than a Second is a slow awakening, a groggy musical move, a muffled request for a brighter future. Catching Fire Slowly is a contemplating ode, a call to take a deep breath and prepare yourself for the upcoming run.
Lost souls or flowers of hope, lurking into light and darkness, no one knows who Scaarlet are. The only certitude is that they always play with boundaries and enact performances between syncopated melodies, cut up sounds, wavy basslines and deep atmospheric sounds. They are back on No Suit Records and continue to develop their own intricate style, merging Drum’n’Bass and Techno influences into a politically and socially engaged music.
My Man translates the raw energy of riots and rebellion, powering a fusion of Drum’n’Bass and Techno. The River resumes some of the Yakusa women tattoos symbolism into a romantic pulsating 170ish bpm vibe. Advertising is an open critic of the fast fashion world and the supremacy of commercial communication, mixing polyrythm with a straight DnB kickdrum.
All tracks mastered by Pole at Scape Mastering in Berlin.
DALO aka Nadia D’Alò emerged at the ESP Institute in 2018 with a brutal remix for Benedikt Frey’s Private Games. Having been floored by her sinister aesthetic and stripped-back approach to production, as well as being long time fans of INIT (her collaborative project with Benedikt), the ESP institute was compelled to commission a dedicated solo work. Across four beastly tracks, Nadia pulls from a gritty palette of instrumentation, combining ritualistic drums, industrial percussion and scratchy acid lines with a blurry montage of demonic sighs and whispers. The result is deeply hypnotic. As we slip into the abyss of her psyche, we attempt attaching to the repetitive instrumentation, clinging to what’s familiar for a sense of security, however, every element in Nadia’s world betrays us as it slowly mutates and slips from our grasp, leaving us in a perpetual state of bewilderment. Similar to a deep dream or a heavy trip, incidents in the music replay on mental loop, accumulating layer upon layer of subconscious meaning, deteriorating our senses until we’re completely removed from our safe zone. It's precisely this dose of danger that keeps the listener inquisitive and on-edge, a potent potion that Nadia has proven effective without over-cooking or adding extraneous ingredients. On the surface, there is an admirable dryness to her tonality, even through the intermittent tape echoes, detuned vocals and haunted smears of reverb, the music is never drowning. Such achievements are the marks of a bold and confident artist, one whose firm grasp of a particularly psychedelic craft supports a warped command of nuance. It’s with great pleasure we find DALO’s agenda aligns so strongly with the ESP Institute.

The new release of Dusk & Waves is starring by Vicky Montefusco, Dj and producer from Italy, resident in Berlin for a few years. This EP is presented as his first work on vinyl with great force and originality. Whit a style, synthetic, analog, crude and influenced by the legacy of the 80s, has allowed him collaborating on labels such as Ninefont, Clouded Vision or Items & Things.
The EP begins with 'Justice', a low revolution techno track that with its line of acid bass and Martian sounds, added to the speech sampler of JFK, leads us to a state of deeply hypnosis. On the other hand, 'Roar' goes deeper into EBM territory. Above the starting of the arpeggio, it is built a dark track full of synthetic sounds and a nightmare atmosphere (somber, gloomy, baleful). 'During' keeps the darkness of the other two tracks; however in this case, the rhythmic guitar at the beginning adds a more 'funk' touch to the track. It is “a funk” with a narcotic and somber flavor thanks to the vocal and the synth sounds that accompany it. On the B side of the vinyl we find Blacknob's remix to 'Justice', which gives him a re-interpretation more club raising the bpms and creating a perfect track for dance in the late night. Finally, Jamie Braid´s remix offers a reconstruction of the track 'During' with electro beat, generating an odyssey of textures with a development that goes beyond the standard structures of dance music. Timeless!
Between the vast flatlands of Western Ukraine and the Pacific shores of Vladivostok, a new quirky techno underground has been racking up hefty grid rhythms below the radar. Initially free from the weekend routines of the established club circuit, producers from Etapp Kyle to Stanislav Tolkachev have been experimenting with the possibilities of shifting grids in their post-socialist bedroom studios. The interconnecting conduit of these geographically isolated minds has often been the radio show of Nikita Zabelin, a Moscow-based DJ mining the local torrents for treasures. Vladimir Dubyshkin is one premier example of how this culture yields wildly exciting finds. Listening to how sweepingly effective his de-centered vision of techno is, it's hard to believe that this actually is his first fully fledged vinyl release. Hailing from Tambov, a city of 280.000 souls 460 km southeast of Moscow, Vladimir Dubyshkin is a regular of Zabelin's show and has contributed tracks to two compilations on Nina Kraviz's TRIP label - another major force in bringing great techno from the fringes of the former Soviet Union to the attention of the world. The "For Various Reasons EP", coming in two separate installments, now shows the full picture of Dubyshkin's special talents. Highly energetic, rave-infested analog techno with de-tuned melodies rubbing against take-no-prisoners basslines. There is an intense emotional component present at all times, typically missing in Western grayscale techno. And once again, the great promise of participation of techno has been proved alive and well, with the freshest contribution coming from the least expected of places.

We were always living in nonlinear times, but a significant cycle is coming to an end so we are noticing a growing number of severe changes and happenings caused by the nonlinear nature of things. For human beings it's difficult to imagine exponential growth despite it surrounding us in almost every aspects of life.
In music one can find such nonlinear increases or logarithmical declines in the core of sound creation itself, namely in envelopes controlling levels, texture and frequencies. But also in real life in the rise and fall of popularity, in viral news or in the development of music technology.
Utilising his sound pallet comprised of modular synthesis and electronic instrumentation, Florian Meindl highlights these resonances of thought and exploration with a sonic statement of his current vision around electronic music in the form of his 4th artist album.
LA's Truncate returns to James Ruskin's Blueprint with a new 3-track EP, having made his outstanding debut on the label back in 2017 with 'Terminal 5'. Early support comes from Ben Sims and of course label head, James Ruskin. Over its 3 tracks Truncate continues to shape his evolving Truncate sound that he launched in 2011, from the tribal energy of 'The Bell', via the piquant twang of 'Initials', to the deep sensibilities of 'Timbre'.

Long overdue, here comes AIR LQD’s first full-length player, Repeat Itself, making up for the direct follow-up of his acclaimed vinyl debut released on the label in 2016. Mixing science fiction, social criticism and punk ethics in the most cryptic fashion, the latest entry in the discography of the taciturn Belgian groove-maker sees him pushing further his electronic experimentation. Delving into the meanders of the human consciousness through hazy and abrasive rituals, brainpowered by robotics, artificial intelligence and urban metamorphism. The weird looping echo of a man-machine drifting through a vortex of feral scratches and overworked machinery. Slowly moving towards the event horizon of a supermassive black hole, leading to unexpected aural aberrations full of hidden, past and new meanings. Giving a last disillusioned glance at our human condition facing technological progress and the toxicity of the outside world.
Solid Tapes label and Ritmos Comunes nights boss Fabio Vinuesa delivers his first EP in Hooded Records. '4 Cuts' is a solid representation of Fabio's work and aesthetics: strong melodic sense, mastering of deepness and feelings, great production skills and stylistic eclecticism. Electro, techno, house and dreamy hardcore all have something to say in this record, making it a great tool and essential EP in any record bag.

Following the release of Tolga Baklacioglu & Dee Grinski’s album “Your Secret Face”, VENT presents a remix package featuring Samuel Kerridge, Svreca, Ryo Murakami, and Isabella, who are some of the artists who have most inspired and supported the duo’s music. These exceptional artists’ interpretations refract the industrial rhythms and harrowing vocalisations of the original tracks into caleidoscopic tunnel visions with each remixer's individualistic expression.
The first track Monkey Bizz' recollects memories of old school raves as the beats reverberate across warehouse venues. BOOM!
Next up is Infiltrator', a rave anthem which was previously released digitally on One 92' EP and now added as a bonus track on the black gold.
Swerving into Interlinked', a gentle yet very strong emotional tune driving upon a dreamy synth hook. Followed by Level 3', an off-beat techno track which does some serious damage.

Back after a much lauded first foray on LENSKE last year, Sam Deliaert alias Farrago rekindles the flame with the high-beam pulse of 'Neontrance'. Witnessing his growth as a skillful producer and dextrous buildup architect, the EP finds Farrago further carving out the contours to his developing signature sound - halfway industrial cyborg-ness, ruthless trancey syncopations and more spacious, off-kilter cosmonautics. With announced dates including appearances at the OFFSónar Exhale party in Barcelona, Dour Festival, Extrema Outdoor and Feel Festival, needless to say Sam's summer is going to be busy to say the least.
Having served as the epic topper of Amelie Lens' Timewarp 2018 set and RA podcast, the title-track will undoubtedly ring a bell to all self-respecting fan of the LENSKE mastermind. Melding a heavy-duty four-to-the-floor with well-timed breaks and the kind of fluttering bleepy melody that sticks in your head long after the needle's lifted off the groove, the "pure emotion" of 'Neontrance' makes for the central pivot around which the other tracks revolve and articulate.
The EP opens with the stomping and churning 'Sinner' which examples Deliaert's production expertise. Pulling out the trenchant katana samples, spiralling bass and weird mouth noises, the minimalistic 'No Jutsu' is one to crank up the heat effortlessly. Completing the picture, the original version of 'Risin' echoes Kobosil's anthemic revamp from last year: a bouncy joyride in acidic marshes and hallucinogenic landscapes that's sure to slap a smile on the saddest raver's face all the way. Techno's a party, and Farrago's got the soundtrack for it.

Lemmi Ash is a Swedish duo comprised of producers Samo and Martinou, and their debut EP with ESP Institute, 'Osmin Uratoma', has been a long time coming. Samo has been a friend of the family since prior to the institute’s inception — dropping in on us in NYC, occasionally as a guest DJ at The Stallions’ residency in Chinatown — and ever since those halcyon days in the late Noughties, we’ve been slowly circling a moving target, poking at his potential contribution to the label. It wasn’t until recently, when fellow Stockholm depth-charger Martinou stepped into the picture, that stars finally aligned and Lemmi Ash was born. Now a steadily growing lovechild, the collaboration displays a finely balanced ratio of the duo’s DNA, complimentary in both aesthetic and character. Across four seemingly disparate tracks, we can sense Samo’s penchant for Dub is subliminally leading the way — from minimal organ stabs and off-kilter hi-hats on the relentlessly pounding 'Apsu', to the hybrid-Dancehall rhythm box and hazy familiar vocal snippets on the late night stormer 'To Dare Is To Do' — while Martinou’s masterful brush is a bit more broad and subtle, shifting the shape of Lemmi’s arsenal into a deep and ethereal Techno head-space full of warm pads, softened percussion and sub bass on both the iconic 'Lemmie Ash Theme' and the EP’s melancholy closer, 'Horror Vacui'. The artists explain that this music was “made with birds in mind” — a somewhat poetic and abstract notion which (to us) symbolizes their stoned veil of indifference, a carefree fluidity of influences, and an ease of traversing stylistic positions — alluding to the rewards of an effortless and non-compulsory collaboration, a genuine creative simpatico.

Birmingham experimental dub terrorist Mick Harris inaugurates new Madrid imprint Trauma Collective here as Monrella, with four brand new executions of sheer naked aggression. It was under this moniker that Harris (aka Fret/Lull) released half a dozen EPs for Karl O'Connor's ZET label between 1996 - 2002 - a strong departure from his previous involvement in seminal grindcore outfit Naplalm Death, and the experimental Scorn project (with fellow band member Nik Bullen). Fierce, functional and direct impact grooves that lunge straight for the jugular, the cuts featured on the Build Time EP recapture the zeitgeist of legendary local club night House Of God - an institution responsible for unleashing fellow legends such as Regis and Surgeon back in the day. Although somewhat overlooked, Harris' sound under this alias has most definitely evolved, and follows through with enough dancefloor dynamics to blend with other modern techno sounds.

The history of Planets...
It has been 100 years since the British composer Gustav Holst introduced his most famous score «The Planets». An elegant musical tour to each one of our Planets in the Solar System, Holst brought forth imaginary visions of space that would survive many generations and decades after. As an important piece to the classical universe, 'The Planets' is regularly played throughout the World every year as it had been the most vivid translation of our cosmic neighborhood until now.
The Electronic Music artist and producer Jeff Mills, pays tribute to this century of incredible musical production. He embarks to compose a sonic journey to re-discover our neighboring planets in a 18 piece suite that explores the nine planets, including the portions of space in between the Planets, the nine regions Mills calls Loop Transits.
Deeply inhabited by science-fiction, Jeff Mills adopts its ideas, concepts, stories and esthetics from the outset. For him, Space is an obsession and his music almost becomes a musical science-fiction. Conquering space, his music embodies the future while both respecting the past and remaining well into the present. Mills takes the rotating principle of the solar system as aesthetics, concept and model for creativity. From the beginning, his first releases explore futuristic and science fiction topics and continue to do so to this day. For Jeff Mills, the future is a powerful creative drive which explains the artist's ceaseless activity.
Since its creation and like the intention of Holst, each track is musically imagined to invoke the psychological affect, emotions and ideas of each planet. But unlike in the year 1918, when the score was first publicly heard on the last week of World War I, 100 years later, we now have a more accurate knowledge about what each Planet is made of and what they look like. The piece should bring the audience closer to confronting each planet in ways that audiences in 1918 could only dream of.
With the French composer Sylvain Griotto, the arranger of Planets and Mills' previous work on the album and classical score about the NASA astronaut and doctor Mamoru Morhi's space journey in 1992 and 2000 from the album 'Where Light Ends', Mills has created an electronic music album that have been translated for symphonic and philharmonic orchestras and will accompany them in their live debut and all performances. Starting to conceptualize and produce music for it dating back to 2005, Mills constantly worked on the project over the years to bring it to fruition.
In July 2016 Jeff Mills has completed the last production stages of the Planets album at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Recorded and will be released in 5.1 surround on the Blue Ray digital format, the soundtrack needed a particular high level of expertise that could only be attended to at hands of the renowned senior studio engineer Jonathan Allen. The expertise and quality associated with the legendary Abbey Road Studios is recognized globally and undeniably the most famous studio in the World. It is with acclaim from the Beatles, Pink Floyd, or more recently Radiohead before him, that Jeff Mills will bring Planets at this legendary music institution.
The mastering sessions occurred on August 2016 with the acclaimed Mastering engineer Darcy Proper in Holland.

Paradygm Shift, the first Robert Hood album to be released since 2012. A staggering record of techno dynamite sees the Detroit legend excelling at what he does best. The record serves as a milestone for the Dutch label Dekmantel, celebrating its tenth anniversary, with the label's 50th release.
Paradygm Shift is return to the distinguished style that defined Robert Hood's music in the early 90s. It is the older, and more mature brother to Hood's classic Minimal Nation, highlighting his more evolved, technical craftsmanship, It is an album of crisp, smooth and delicately orchestrated techno that is quintessentially minimal in focus, and grandiose in sound, juxtaposed with electronic funk, wrapped up in blisteringly urgent, and honest, pulsating techno.
The LP is the culmination of a three EP series released on Dekmantel. 'The idea behind it is just a shift in our focus. We can become so complacent; we are so comfortable with our surroundings. I think this is the time for electronic music to find a new mindset." Robert says about the record's concept. "I felt it necessary to reiterate Robert Hood as an electronic music artist who is bringing minimalism back in the forefront, and not to get lost in the melody. I want to get back to the simple repetitive programming that I'm known for, and to me it was returning to that, and shifting the listeners' focus.'
Like his DJ sets, Paradygm Shift gradually warms up into a rolling hypnotic, succession of pious rhythms that make up 'Idea'. The orthodox template never brakes, but evolves as the album proceeds. It is beholden of a man born of playful discipline. 'Solid Thought' points to a heightened sense of purity, 'Magnet' is unabashed and unflinching in its ruthlessness, while 'Pneuma' is the record's only soulful link to Hood's recent Floorplan past. As the record draws to a close, penultimate track 'Pattern 8' plays out as a beautifully synthesized, hymn that points towards to an earlier period of machine-driven, soul music.
Paradygm Shift is the perfect marriage, cementing the Detroit-Dutch relationship further. Although this will be Robert Hood's first LP release with Dekmantel, the marraige between the two stretches back over seven years. Since DJing at Paradiso for the Dekmantel crew back in 2010, Robert Hood has been a regular fixture for the clubnights and festivals ever since, while also contributing remixes to Juju & Jordash's Deep Blue Meanies EP. 'I could tell these guys were hungry for electronic music. Dekmantel is about making things happen, and so like minds think alike,' Hood says about their history,
Speaking about the record project and signing, the team behind Dekmantel stated: "Just like a lot of Robert Hood fans, we're most enthusiastic about his older, minimal material. After all, it's what made him famous in the first place and was an important ingredient in the early Dekmantel days. His Paradygm Shift music appeals to this period but has a modern feel too it, which makes it very exciting.'

Black Sand is a new collaboration combining techno sounds old and new.
The duo consists of Max Durante (who produced the first Kynant record) and fellow-Italian, DJ Datch. Their 'Desert Island EP' is heavy on drum machines and classic styling but produced with modern design.
'Abyss' and 'Black Sea' begin the record with restraint, building a groove out of tense layers of underwater atmosphere and a tough low-end. The B-Side pushes the sound harder; the creeping drone of 'Dead Sea' is tailored for DJs to gradually build a room's energy, whilst 'High Tide' is peak-time material noticeably inspired by the 90s.
Mastered by Neel (EnissLab Studio, Rome). Pressed onto 180g, 12" vinyl at Optimal Media, Germany. Packaged in a house sleeve. All artwork designed by Christopher Honeywell.
Kynant Records is of UK background and currently run from Berlin. Its records explore and invert rhythm in techno.

Originally appearing on Rekids subsidiary REK’D as a limited release a decade ago, Rekids rereleases Dustin Zahn ‘Stranger (To Stability)’ on Special Projects with two outstanding mixes by Len Faki. A massive techno record, ‘Stranger (To Stability)’ has stood the test of time since its release in 2009. Featuring two remixes by Len Faki, the record was a limited release on wax and has since become sought after by vinyl buyers. With its saw-like synths and ominous atmospherics, the original by Enemy Records boss Dustin Zahn is menacing and comes complete with a compelling groove and dubby stabs - the result is mesmerizing. Len Faki’s Podium Mix follows a similar aesthetic with its reverbed kicks and metallic effects whilst distorted vocal samples and twisted melodies up the energy forming a colossal anthem. Built on syncopated percussion, the Figure founder’s X-Break Mix meanders forward with an infectious rhythm before a tremendous build up rises and rises, only to diminish to embers before doing it all again.

Limited to 298 copies, heavy rotation and support from Ben Sims, Luke Slater, DJ Bone, Sterac, Ryan Elliott & Kr!z etc.
Starting off 2019, Terraformer EP will mark a new chapter in the output from label bosses Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff. More different from their previous work, this EP consists of 4 dancefloor oriented tracks, recorded during some late night studio sessions. As a result, it felt logical to release this new output under a new name. Hence their new Indigo Æra alias.
Opener 'Aeris' is a high octane techno track with filtered drum lines and warm pads that trap you in a tunnel and drive you forwards. A meandering synth drifts up and down the scale and leads your mind to wander, then 'Terraformer' is more loose, with spraying synths bringing an off balance sense to the thudding kicks. It's perfectly smooth, pressurised techno where 'Tabula Rasa' is more zoned out. It features the trademark ambient pads and thoughtful keys, while 'Flux' closes out in sci-fi style. Tribal drums ripple beneath cosmic motifs and the whole thing feels like a trip through the deepest reaches of space. Once more then, these are four fantastically atmospheric tracks of tasteful techno.

The new album from Nocturnal Sunshine is another exciting glimpse into an artist internationally renowned for her unique and skillful creative vision. The drop of an unannounced single ‘Foundation’ at the end of 2018 sent out the first signal; something was building. Introduced here with debut single “Pull Up” Feat. Gangsta Boo & Young M.A., Maya Jane Coles’ assured, and bold production teems with confidence; continuing her line of grungy breakbeats and uncovering new depths in hip-hop and trap-esque realms. Evident to the width of her talents with her own collaborations with Tricky, Nadine Shah, Kim Ann Foxman and Miss Kittin et al; Maya has previously lent her production skills to other acts; producing for others from Chelou to Little Boots as well as remixing the electronic undergrounds finest; Bonobo, Bookashade and Tiga; to leftfield acts like The XX, Massive Attack and Little Dragon through to pop’s most credible; Dua Lipa, Sia, Sam Smith, Florence & The Machine, and even the legendary Ella Fitzgerald alongside a massive underground dominating Nocturnal Sunshine bootleg remix of Lizzo’s “Tempo” ft. Missy Elliot. More so, Maya’s breakthrough track “What They Say” track was slowed and looped to form the backing track for Nicki Minaj’s “Truffle Butter”. Hand stamped white label, album sampler for forthcoming Richard Fearless album of the same title.
Atlas of Insanity’ is reactionary, big room techno from Richard Fearless; a pounding kick, death whip snares, and synth lines that drill into your core. This is raw, impulsive electronic body music made to loose your mind.
With ‘New Perspective’ Fearless delivers pure techno soul. With sonic leanings towards the North’s Bleep scene and minimalist techno pioneer Mika Vainio’s Philius and Ø alias.
Soul Of Hex's Vicario Musique is making a comeback in 2018, with Cedillo's most personal EP to date. The main track ''Tetro'' is a futurist, simple but effective track dragging influences of the highest order on Chicago, Berlin and Detroit. ''Shadow Aspect'' moves into a darker perspective combining analog and modular synthesis and clever drum breaks. On the bright side of the EP, ''Sun Compass'' a collaboration with his brother Anttares is reminiscent of a Paradise/balearic inspired track showing Cedillo brothers versatile style. To finish the EP, the melancholic ''There are no words'' is a dedication to the memory of Cedillo's grandfather. Tetro has been already being championed live on Soul Of Hex's Live Boiler Room session, and at Tim Sweeney's Beats in Space Mix by Zombies in Miami.
TM404 & Echologist (aka Andreas Tilliander and Brendon Moeller) return with their second collaboration, this time including a remix from another standout dub techno artist in VRIL. The 'Infiltrated' EP has two boomy, 4x4 rollers on the A-side, VRIL's broken-beat, ethereal version on the B1 and lastly the title-track, a twisted stream of grainy modulations.
Hot on the heels of the Jaxx Madicine remix of Kyoto Jazz Sextet on Local Talk, Tommy 'Tubojazz' Garofalo - goes on a solo adventure once again.
His previous EP "Unbreakable" had equal parts of soul, jazz and funk blended together with a house twist.
The follow-up "Night Colors EP" shows both that and a deeper electronic side.
Opening track 'Two' is a clever number with its changes & sonic wizardry throughout.
Turbojazz makes the perfect blend between house and techno dipped into one big pot of deep Detroit vibes.
Next up is 'The Joint', a track that wears the distinct Turbojazz trademark throughout with its playful keys and sequenced drum programming at full tilt.
After the first Seraphim Rytm's release, the next one is coming from a talented young producer from Amsterdam, Vand. Vand also known as Viktor van der Riet, released a fantastic ep on Nyame Records in 2018 and a beautiful collaboration with Bas Dobbelaer on ""Something Happens Somewhere"" in the beginning of this year. Viktor is the responsible for Echo Inferno, 3 tracks halfway between ambent-deep House music and profound Techno, plus an IDM trip. The synthetic melodies and delicate ambiences merge perfectly with the smooth percussions creating emotional journeys to be enjoyed dancing with your eyes closed at a challenging dancefloor or comfortably sat on the couch of your home. The label explores the thin line between darkness and light and ""Echo Inferno"" expresses perfectly the duality.

Echocord's Colour sub-label returns early June with a four- track EP from Eindhoven's Albert Van Abbe in the shape of 'Klangbilder'. Dutch Techno artist Albert Van Abbe has nearly two decades of experience under his belt in various forms of musical and visual expression, releasing on his own Vanabbe imprint, Figure Jams, Semantica and No Comment, as well as playing live and DJing at hot spots across the globe such as Berghain, Tresor, DGTL and Awakenings festival. 'Klangbilder 1' leads with a robust rhythmic drive, employing bumpy toms, shuffled hats and lumpy kicks at its core as vacillating synths, tension building drones and menacing pizzicato strings develop throughout. 'Klangbilder 2' takes things deeper next, retaining the dusty drums sound of the previous cut whilst stirring in airy ethereal pads and choppy, resonant stab sequences. 'Klangbilder 3' kicks off the B-Side with modulating synth whirrs, emotive organ tones and a muted drum tones throughout before 'Klangbilder 4' closes the package, taking things beatless and cinematic via emotive synth leads, droning subs and expansive echoes.
Architectural returns to Wolfskuil Records with 4 exceptional cuts on his 'Beautiful Life After Death' twelve inch. Complex sound design and a warm and open atmosphere go hand in hand with the Spanish studio wizzard's sonic world. From lush ambient in the title track, the addictive groove in 'Piedras' to wobbly modular bass excursions in 'Luminous Path' and moody textures from the abyss in 'Gris'. Architectural covers a lot of ground in just 4 tracks. Diverse and coherent at the same time, few artists have such a recognizable sound signature as the Barcelona artist.

Thanks to their playful and dark techno with insightful reflections on recent Swedish history and
phenomenons, the duo have become much appreciated, as live artists as well as on national radio
and Spotify, where the total number of streams is close to half a million.
Motormännen make information techno infused with an air of Swedish nostalgia through a filter of
retro-futuristic skepticism. The music is packed with addictive acid loops and samples with excerpts
from Swedish news & documentaries reflecting on times when the cold war and the traditional
welfare state were dissolving. Inhibitions were relaxed and new, foreign influences crept into the
body of society and the old information monopolies. Motormännen's tracks are visually enhanced by
videos from the 1970's and 80's.

Building on the success of Vol 1, Detroit pioneers Octave One now serve up Locus of Control Volume 2, continuing their journey of exploration of power or powerlessness over what moves one’s world. This EP comes after a busy series of shows for the most famous live act in all of techno, with them recently having played everywhere from Piknic Électronik Montréal to Movement to Dimensions Festival and many more. The show is an all new audio-visual experience for 2019 and continues to keep them at the forefront of the scene despite more than 30 years of experience. Locus of Control Part 2 follows a remix of Giorgia Angiuli and lands on their own 430 West label once more. This EP series takes its name from a psychological concept that refers to how strongly
people believe they have control over the situations and experiences that affect their lives. Part 1 showcased euphoric piano stabs and uplifting drum lines, and Part 2 explores more propulsive techno. Up first, ‘Afrotech’ is a seven minute techno adventure. It’s built on sleek, crisp drums with twisted synths writhing about up top. The devil is in the detail and the way the synths are subtly tweaked throughout to make for a most dynamic journey once more from these brilliant brothers.
The excellent ‘Detune’ is a futuristic track with layers of shiny metallic drums and taught synth riffs that make for a tense and thrilling ride. Big drums power things along and the whole thing is the sort of sensory overload that will blow up even the biggest warehouse parties and festival stages. These are two more powerful tracks from the ever essential Octave One.

Released on 13 September by Skint/BMG, the 11 track album follows a slew of singles - ‘Back From The Desert’, ‘The Sky Is Too Low’, and ‘Inside’ – which have won praise from the likes of Mixmag, Dancing Astronaut, RA, Radio 1 (Pete Tong and Danny Howard), Marco Carola, Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, Kolsch, Joris Voorn, Claptone, Eats Everything, Adam Beyer, and many more.

‘Wild Slide’ shows that the comparisons made between Better Lost’ and stadium techno acts like The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld, stand up. The production quality is every bit as good as you’d expect from Buttrich and co, and the songs have been crafted and written by three people who’ve spent their lives making music and then playing it to hundreds of thousands of people.
CVBOX´ second ep on LUNATIC appears with a very epic approach to form a complete statement of his art: beginning calm and rhythmically broken, HITCHHIKE THE PLAIN takes it´s time before it get´s more driving in the end. Now after getting on the trip, APOLDA13 lets you float in the vacuum with it´s polyrhythmic bleeps before TP-ONE dives deeper in the abyss as a straight and spinning techno tool. happy end: something well known shows up with that version of DRIVE BY CIRCLE.
short description: on his second ep on LUNATIC, CVBOX presents 4 stripped down, deep stories with his analog pulsating style, on the edge of darkness and daylight. record comes in a sealed cover with an art print inside.

Following up his pair of cryptically luminous EPs for Northern Electronics in the past years, Evigt Morker presents his debut album, Krona. With a shuffling atmosphere that's hard to pin down, the album chronically fixates on the degradation and construction of rhythmic drills with finely rendered parts and patterns. Spiralling the listener through a set of stormy soundscapes, Krona keeps placing the horizon just ahead, and just out of reach. The unease that Evigt Morker invites us into is electrically charged and threatening to crack. For all its syncopation we are relentlessly swerving through the works, afraid of teasing an arcing static shock from the blistering commotion. The album's propulsive tracks are settled against a pair of stunning ambient compositions that capture some of the tension from a distance. Technical dexterity and perfectly pitched intensity stakes out Evigt Morker's debut album as an impressive statement.

On the second chapter of the KOOAAD Muzik saga, obscure composer Filippo Diana shakes hand with Cronenberg, Carpenter and Detroit's finest electro pioneers and delivers a masterful soundtrack to the never released sci-fi movie NEMESI.
'A neuro scientist synthesizes a protein that amplifies sensory perceptions. Using himself as test subject, in an attempt to establish the right dosage, he takes too many shots that will quickly and inevitably plunge him into the depths of insanity.'
All tracks are filled with a tension that ranges from fear and mystery to arousal and ecstasy, accompanying a vision that never became cellulose yet entrains our brain like a stroboscopic dream.
Music to play on a monochromatic screen with oscillating brightness at theta frequencies.
Seven tracks mini album selection of the original sound score.

NYC collective Sheik 'N' Beik continue to bolster their catalogue and add to a slew of cosmic cuts from Xamiga, Derek Marin, Voiski and Peter Corvaia with the next installment coming courtesy of NYC newcomer Jeffrey Scott.
Having been a mainstay at the Sheik 'N' Beik parties across NYC and Ibiza, Jeffrey Scott is a long term friend of the team. He is an artist who has patiently cultivated a methodical yet free-flowing form of production that melds live instrumentation, warped and celestial synthesis with a healthy sprinkling of oddity that lends him perfectly to a release with Sheik 'N' Beik.
This - his debut 12' - is built predominantly with Hardware, Software and modular gear and kicks off with 'Under Aqua' that drives flat, whetted kicks through flexing metallic tones and pellucid clicks and snaps. Distant, reverberated signals are gently pushed in and out of the mix as additive percussion pushes momentum forwards. Panned and mangled spoken word hops between languages which, alongside a soft and rueful chord change builds a striking soft / hard contrast.
Allegorical in its progression, 'Down To Art' then opens up with layered Boards Of Canada-esque synth tones sat atop a buoyant pulse. Passages of twisted spoken word and clever sound design builds disquieting tension that never quite boils over whilst keeping the listener pinned throughout.
'Drum Morphing' then sets sheets of glacial synth tones atop clipped analogue drums. Patient and natural in it's progression, it slowly renders the moon's landscape and closes with playful use of delay, pitch bending and panning that caps off an impressive and daring debut from Scott and another fine addition to the Sheik 'N' Beik series.

Pure worries from Leipzig — three club burners steeped in Detroit traditions, distilling the explorations in collective, nervy hypnosis of KM live sets. As the music slowly unfurls, there he is at every turn, subtly tweaking its parameters, redistributing its weight, pricking its grooves into a state of utterly infectious perpetual movement.
The two visions of Chilazon track opposite pathways: the first is twelve minutes of gorgeous, dubwise, aquatic techno, spattered with kicks and razor-sharp hi-hats, and smeared with ghostly echoes, then a terse mesh of broken drums, escalating to a quiet yet feverishly intense peak. Lanthanum is calligraphic swordplay, its toms and bass stabs warily circling one another in a graceful steppers' dance, spaced-out and fathoms-deep.

After his comeback album on Morphine in 2014, Sote marks his return to rhythm by taking part in Repitch's 10inch series with a banging two tracker extracted from his more than 20 years old unreleased archive. Neuroenhancer produced in 1995 is a heavy duty techno drilling machine, pairing an oldschool Mills like groove with a throbbing mass of modular synths. On the other side In Music I Trust''s main engine is an incandescent hardcore/jungle beat, haunted by spaced out vocals in the darkness. The track was produced in 1997 with friend 'Safar' a San Francisco based DJ/Producer, shortly after Sote s initial experiments with Jungle and Drum n Bass pre his Warp EPin 2002.

White Visitation, who debuted on Blank Sate 006, returns with a full EP that showcases the vastness of his musical capability. The Mexico City native doesn't submit to the boundaries and limitations of genre to frame his musical identity. This ability inspires the conquering of differing styles of music without hesitation. The result is a pervasive sonic ngerprint evident in any of his creations. White Visitation begins with Maintain, a heavier-leaning track which evades abrasiveness while
remaining vigorous. The track, previously released on cassette, seems to smother a melancholic feeling desperately yearning for escape. CYEADOS is a ballad of distant war horns crying out in longing. It peaks with a barrage of brutalist ride cymbals which both pummel and soothe. Take it Again is an exercise in elegance and elation. White Visitation consummates an
atmosphere of sweetness without sacricing an ounce of depth. He balances layer upon layer until what stands is a house of cards constructed to resist the ever intrusive winds of monotony.

PBR Streetgang return to their newly launched KURTZ imprint this October to deliver ‘Acid Tools’, accompanied by Wilde Renate residents Longhair on remix duties.
Founded in Leeds but now found touring the international scene week in, week out, Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, aka PBR Streetgang, have cemented their position as leading names within the current house and disco landscape via a slew of stand-out releases on imprints such as Skint, Crosstown Rebels and Futureboogie, plus appearances in 2019 alone at Glastonbury, Love International, Printworks and a summer residency at Pikes Ibiza to name just a few. Launched earlier this year, their new KURTZ imprint quickly found favour amongst a who’s who of the industry’s leading names, from Andrew Weatherall to Bicep, Hot Chip to Soul Clap, and here we see the duo step out again on home turf to deliver the second instalment as they reveal their Acid Tools’ EP, featuring three versions of the up-front ‘Ron’ - each of which have been doing damage in their sets across the summer months - backed by a remix from Wilde Renate residents Longhair.
Up first and delivering the ‘Full Fat’, version one sees Bradberry and Thorpe introduce punchy analogue percussion arrangements in tandem with a chunky, menacing acid line at the production’s core, whilst infectious vocal samples and hooks ebb in and out of the mix to guide the production as it chugs along, whilst the ‘Half Fat’ mix strips back the vocals to reveal a driving and warping journey across six-and-a-half minutes. Next up, Berlin duo Longhair’s remix welcomes a low-slung interpretation armed with delayed effects and sci-fi atmospherics to provide a combination of rich depth and space, before rounding out proceedings via the ‘Fully-Skimmed’ mix – a high-energy 909 fueled workout set to feature as a favourite for many across the months ahead.
The always on-point and culturally significant Tuskegee Music is back with more essential music, this time from venerated American producer D’Marc Cantu. Over the course of a distinguished career, Cantu has contributed to everything from jackbeat to acid, house to techno on labels like Creme Organisation and Les Disques De La Mort. Always serving up raw-edged, uncompromising sounds, he does so again here on another standout EP. Opener ‘Beat The Move’ is an urgent, high tech piece of slick and supple acid house with 303 undulations, dark vocal loops and the sort of hammering drums that get the club locked right in.
The sublime ‘In The Forest’ is a tripped out bit of restless electro with skittish hits and rueful pads that gets right to your heart. Last of all is the militant, marching ‘A Narrow Connection’ which closes things out with crisp kicks and scintillating sheet metal drums that straighten your back and get you stomping.
These are utilitarian yet wonderfully unique club tracks from a real master of the form.
Dizzy Tunes' latest drop - Ghetto Traxx puts your feet directly back to the dancefloor having it all set in wavering melodic tunes coming from a 303 combined with classy yet swinging drums produced with a 909.
All four tracks will convince your mind with ambitious, challenging sounds your body fills up with - two of them being Ghetto House Traxx, the other two Chicago House Dance Traxx.

Patrick Conway keeps a low profile and wobbles through the alleyways. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A’s Know The Future is properly moody, a UK rave track skirting the fringe of everything we hold dear from the days of our youth—big grey melancholy chords, mild shuffling breaks and anonymous diva cries peppered sparsely throughout—yet the artist manages to skillfully tick our nostalgia boxes whilst avoiding the road into full-blown pastiche. It's a versatile track, easily suitable for both the early hours in the warehouse or the tender drive home where your terrible Tuesday awaits. On the flip side, Patrick continues his plunge into emotional depths, summoning layers of ghostly sighs, chopping up the beats in half time and introducing a more prominent use of bass, but midway through Digital Warfare he jettisons the angelic pleasantries in favor a more deranged headspace. He’s had us swallow the wrong pills, sending us through a labyrinth of mirrors and echoes for the second half of the track, only to partially find our footing in the last minute. These two songs will send you to another time and place.
Spread out over two 12"vinyls - this is the result from a two day recording session in Brussels by the duo of Beau Wanzer & Maoupa Mazzocchetti. 25 minutes of dance floor perversions that tackle an array of rhythmic forms. Sludgy synths, serrated percussion and viscous distortion goops over leviathan rhythms
Beau says, “We hooked everything up and just pushed play. We didn’t really discuss much about the process….it was very ‘spur of the moment’.” The equipment set up included a Roland TR-808, TR-606, SH-101, CR-78, CR-8000, two Syncussions and effects. Each EP contains 25 minutes of dance floor perversions that tackle an array of rhythmic forms. Sludgy synths, serrated percussion and viscous distortion goops over leviathan rhythms

Planet Euphorique continues to transcend boundaries and expectations with its lucky eighth release “Dream Portal”, a 4-track EP by Ronan.
The three tracks, plus a bonus remix from elusive, tech-wiz Reptant, were recorded over a two week period in Bogota, Colombia. Conjuring up vivid spectacles of a mysterious labyrinth; bodies unleashed and moving in unison.
The title track, Dream Portal, unlocks the gateway via a dank, sway-worthy roller, equally menacing and eclipsing, paving the way for the A2 “Crystal Viewer" where propelling snares layer across delicate harmonic tension and spatial delay. Springing sub bass filling the low ends to complete the fusion of trance-licked breakbeat and ethereal techno.
On the flip the situation continues to rise, Star Fissure delving into high-octane enlightened electro. Slick rolls and percussive fills make this a daring DJ’s dream. Kicks that feel like you’re being punched in the face, yet begging for more. Deep and driving, with delicate pads to take you into that elevated state. Meanwhile, the Reptant remix rolls up and lets you know it’s arrived. Attitude on tap, delivering lizard-tech to be teamed with a smoke machine on overdrive. Dripping bleeps and razored hi-hats to accentuate the originals’ naughty flair.

Calling Marcelle a DJ doesn’t wholly represent what she’s doing. (Three) turntables and a mixer is more the medium that she uses to create and share sounds, ideas and moments.
The same goes for her own productions. They don't have a fixed style, as can be heard on all five EP's released by the Munich label Jahmoni since 2016. They are free in attitude and music and cross boundaries between genres. Most tracks are a collision of ideas, a magically gritty, self-aware car crash as if Muslimgauze grew up in sunny Lisbon with the Principe crew as opposed to the grim North of England.
On her new LP 'One Place For The First Time' we find nine tracks brimming with ideas that ignore stale production norms. Sure, the pulsing drum 'n' bass-esque 'Hippies Use Side Door' is weirdly danceable, just like the cackling stomp of 'Respect Caged Animals', but can we dance to 'Technicians And Their Smoke Machines'? (Answer: We’d certainly enjoy trying). It's almost a jazz song, but like with everything Marcelle does, it's jazz from a different world and has proven to be a dancefloor smash when she’s played out the dubplate over recent months.
Marcelle's life-long love for far-out dub is clear in 'Dub (Dub)' and 'Respect My Snack Foods' is in the same 'educational' tradition as was the song about how to deal with constipation (olive oil!) from the 2018 'Psalm Tree' EP. Now we learn how to apologise. 'The Mother Of All Messes' (a UK newspaper headline about Brexit) introduces perhaps a more tender side, a comforting nursery rhyme plays while a muffled kick occasionally growls with distortion - as if it knows the importance of its place in the dance.
By the time the refrain of the intro track returns it seems to carry more significance, Marcelle has made her point quite clear. Defiant til the end… ‘Don’t touch the table!’ This particular sample is taken from Marcelle's legendary Boiler Room performance at 2018's Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda where the MC of the event repeatedly declares that 'She Plays Vinyl' and therefore asks 'Don't Touch The Table!'. It goes without saying that the latter song is full of banging on the table noises.
The sleeve - as always with Marcelle - is very colourful and features photos of knitted egg cosies and images related to individual songs. It's a bit of a puzzle to find out which photo connects to which song, an enjoyable challenge, just like the LP itself.
Shining on lineups whether they’re cutting edge festivals, big clubs, touring circus shows or DIY garage venues comes naturally given she approaches all with the same mindset ('always the same, always different'), these causes are adopting her rather than the other way round.
Marcelle is a genuine innovator who remains inherently relevant by not following trends, not focusing on technicalities, having a sense of humour, dissolving obsolete structures, being excited, defying others rules while creating new ones, eschewing #tagline posers and ‘tasteless A&R wankers’, supporting artists that need it, supporting places that need it, supporting people who need it and not giving a fuck for as long as possible.
And HUGELY welcome living proof that you can excel in doing things differently and having a bloody good time n all.
James Marrs, London, March 2019
Djrum returns to R&S with two heavy hitting tracks on a double a-side release. This is his first original music to be released since the ‘Portrait With Firewood’ album in 2018. “A meticulous, moving electronic album.” Quietus “As audacious as anything in electronic music right now” Pitchfork Both tracks see him exploring his more dancefloor influences keeping the tempos high and the emotions heightened. While Tournesol takes in a characteristically broad set of influences - from braindance to Shaangan electro - Hard To Say focuses on the ambient-gabber sound that Djrum has pioneered. This is uncompromising music from a producer working at the top of his game.

London based DJ, producer and live act End Train makes his label debut on Mørbeck’s Code Is Law imprint this June as he reveals four twisted techno cuts to make up his ‘Body Business’ EP.
With releases to date on the likes of Planet Rhythm, Khemia, LDNwht and his own labels Metempsychosis Records and Ways to Die Records, UK artist Joseph Bianchi aka End Train’s own interpretation of dark and warping techno has seen him become a rising name of note across recent years. Following a string of recent appearances across his home city of London, here we see Bianchi head to Mørbeck’s Berlin based imprint Code Is Law, following the likes of Under Black Helmet and Sawf to delvier his latest EP ‘Body Business’.
Opening proceedings, the tripped out ‘The Day I Didn’t Want To Wake Up’ sets the tone as dark, brooding atmospherics evolve amongst menacing low end tones and Tonia Nee’s haunting vocals, whilst ‘Be The Rave’ quickly introduces further tripped out vocal murmurs and effervescent analog synth patterns.
Next up, the gritty ‘Infinite Universes’ wanders forth as raw lead melodies and crunchy metallic drums clash and combine throughout, before combining with fellow Metempsychosis and Ways to Die Records co-founder Flaminia to reveal the driving ‘Zuppa’, fusing rich lead synths and cavernous kicks to close out proceedings.

Florian Meindl's third artist album "Time Illusion" marked another big milestone in his career. After several live act shows, where he
showcased his flair for live performance with some heavy equipment including his Eurorack ModularSystem, he has picked 3 artists who he admires for their own unique take on techno music to remix the album.
His choice fell on LUCY, who is responsible for the curation of the
highly respected Stroboscopic Artefacts imprint, on SIGHA who is
known and respected for his modular system performances and
production techniques on labels like Token or Blueprint. The third
choice fell on up and coming Netherlands based producer and DJ duo TWR72 who continually put out fresh and game-changing releases on their label FLOAT Rec.
The LUCY remix spans on a whole A side with 45 rotations per minute and opens a window in a yet unknown dimension of expanding effect drones which takes the listener on an extraordinary trip of its own. He took the opportunity and wove the breakbeat from the original composition into a straight-clocked rhythm while giving the harmonic content a new unheard surreal depth. This track has got the potential to suck the dancers minds into a strange journey and yet keep them on the tidy rhythm.
Fran Hartnett performs and records his tracks in one take. He is also a well known tattoo artist who operates out of Skin City in Dublin. He actually tattooed my wife's foot recently which is the most painful part of the body you can tattoo, apart from the genitals, but she wasn't up for that. Anyway I digress, so he makes techno, he's an artist, DJ, live act, he puts art on people's skin, he did the art for his release and the next 7 UX releases. He's a really nice guy, he's got great taste in music, so he's actually starting to piss me off, is there anything he's not good at He's making me look bad. I tried to outdo him with a remix of his track "Incisions, Decisions" but I think you'll agree the original is better so fuck you Fran, fuck you.
The latest vinyl release sees four diverse producers rework Manuel's original tracks from his last EP, which includes Endlec, Pacou, Aleja Sanchez, and Drafted.
Endlec is a Greek artist listing Mord, Children of Tomorrow, and Invite's Choice in his back catalogue.
Berlin based Pacou, has close ties with Tresor, also releasing on their imprint alongside Music Man, Indigo Aera, and Labrynth among others.
Aleja Sanchez from Colombia appears following outings on Illegal Alien, Northallsen, Nachtstrom Schallplatten and Planet Rhythm.
Drafted from Italy runs MM Audio and has credits for Soma, Balans, Affekt, and ETUI.
Expect to hear a great variety of styles such raw, analogue beats, deep Detroit influences, dubby ambience, and edgy, hypnotic sounds.

London based label and party Butter Side Up follow-up a sold out debut release from Christian Jay with another helping of atmospheric house music, this time from Leeds based rising star Midge Thompson. The long time BSU associate serves up three tracks that are complemented with a rare remix from the legendary Titonton Duvante.
Opener 'Destination 2242' is a slick and spaced out broken beat groover. Sci-fi motifs wither next to a sprinkling of garage percussion and rubbery drum programming is brilliantly loose and body popping. 'Delta' gets even deeper, with skeletal drums knocking out an infectious late-night rhythm while dreamy pads flesh things out. Spacecrafts drift in the background to add some cinematic stylings and make it perfect for the more close-knit dance floors.
On the flip, 'Beeston Lights' picks up the pace with perfectly rolling kicks pulling you in as keys twinkle up top like a distant metropolis at night. It's smooth and breezy house music to carry you away on a blissful vibe. Remixing is Titonton Duvante, a long time influence on the Butter Side Up crew and a cult figure in heady house circles thanks to definitive work on his own Residual Recordings, Mosaic and many others. His chunky take on techno is hard to beat, as proven here with a remix that re-works the drums into busy, restless things that work the feet while the Americans's typically ethereal pads bring real depth.

Producing under his techno moniker 'NEUMANN', Tobi Neumann delivers his first WCF release - a four track EP - available in vinyl and digital format - titled 'Coaster' which also includes a remix by club's resident Kyle E.
Beginning with the prowling track 'Coaster', its slow and steady pace eases the listener into a sultry sound from NEUMANN, evidently making a clear divide between his usual house/disco induced productions as 'Tobi Neumann'. A rolling groove entails with a clear cowbell and tinkling melody, smoothly layered over a subtle kick drum and moody bass line.
'Broken voices' opens with a mean kick leading to a significant change in tone from 'Coaster' with a sense of urgency entwined through an undulating melody. A blend of scintillating synths over a menacing bass shows the spacey side of NEUMANN, who's not afraid to explore the muddier side of electronic music.
The third track 'Atlantis' revolves around an accelerated rhythm accompanied by thundering modular-percussion. Woven with broken bleeps and high-energy synths, it's a powerful track appropriate for an intimate, sweaty and weird rave.
Finishing off, a remix of 'Coaster' from Egg's and label's resident Kyle E. The burgeoning producer and selector puts his own uplifting stamp on NEUMANN's venture into murky techno. With a throbbing bass and crisp bells, it's the rich analogue use with shades of euphoria that make it a perfectly atmospheric track to end NEUMANN's first WCF release.

Deep and space-rubbed techno-not-tech house drifters from a top don and a fresh face! Story About You comes forward with a precision cut split release between Smallville Records mastermind Christopher Rau and SAY constituent Pearla.
Rau fires up the deep space super telescope and takes us into the most functional part of a black hole with his side, while Pearla's debut tracks skew the tech with some electro funk flavoring suitable for easing the mind and schooching the body onto the dancefloor.

There is something about the groove on DJ Mau Mau’s early releases that just gets me and everyone within earshot moving wildly each and every time a track of his gets slammed in the club. His tunes go hard for sure, but the rhythm and vibe seems to be something hits people universally.
Hell’s Club has been on my want list on Discogs for years and that prohibitive price really left me no choice but to reissue the damn thing. I have played it every single set since I got the new masters back and it is so effective at getting a crowd moving. Tech house at its absolute best.

Global Dialog's second release comes from the troubled mind of Extimacy. Recorded during a time of profound turmoil, poorly cut
drugs and even poorer career choices, "Temporary Distractions" comes as a despaired, yet hopeful, yet "ugh still a little despaired"
attempt at Catharsis™. The record's intense and uncompromising blend of techno, noise, musique concrete and neo-classical aims
at hitting harder than a little toe against the wall, or an overarmed policeman during a raid at a peaceful dance gathering. These three
hypnotic cuts should work splendidly as the soundtrack of the inevitable demise of our species, or any illegal european warehouse party after 3 A.M.

Milan based collective Just This continue their mission into the darkest territories of electronic music with the Evolution EP from Hill Of Vision featuring an Alex.Do remix, due February 22nd.
Title track is a bleak, disorienting journey through muffled acoustics and gloomy surroundings narrated by an eerie vocal. For his remix, Alex.Do reinterprets the tension of the original into a floating dance floor weapon.
'Signs' is a stripped back swirl of strange melodic inflections and cyclical effects, whilst 'Land Of Vision' dissects the framework of atypical techno into an immersive doomsday soundtrack.
Evolution EP delves deeper into the blackened acoustic world of Just This, repurposing references from gothic tales and electronic music culture into a singularly murky aesthetic.
The debut Pact Infernal LP gets a well deserved re press on all new coloured vinyl.

Patrick Mason and Rekids boss Matt Edwards return for their second appearance as SRVD with two cuts entitled 'RAW FILES'.
Not confined to a single art form, Patrick Mason is a young creative at the forefront of Berlin's art, fashion, dance music and LGBT scene; an influential club kid who developed a friendship with Matt Edwards after a chance meeting in Panorama Bar, resulting in numerous studio sessions and improvised live sets.
Joining forces in 2018, the pair adopted their SRVD moniker - an alias inspired by New York's vogue scene - before dropping their debut release on Rekids, playing at various clubs (notably Panorama Bar), not to mention an unforgettable performance at Boiler Room x Pornceptual.
'The Yard Man' presents rattling drums, piercing vocal chants and a tormenting melody that SRVD has been destroying dancefloors with over the last year. On the flip, 'Brotha' presents a compelling groove as a shuffling rhythm joins abrasive synths and Mason's penetrating voice.

Applehead (Sam de la Rosa & Katrina Fairlee)
Sam De La Rosa. Austin, TX musician, artist and DJ. Main composer of the cult New York band, Led Er Est, which he edited in Sacred Bones, Wierd Records, Captured Tracks and Mannequin. Currently working solo has published in Mannequin and Burka for Everybody. He is half of the wild experimental project Samaritan Quell (with Bill Converse) and in a more soundtrack oriented band, The Coombe (with Karen Sharkey). In recent collaborations in 2019 we found him working with Kyle Dixon (SURVIVE / Stranger Things), Joshua Cordova and Katrina Fairlee. We had it in solo live format on the label's first anniversary and it left us all with a great taste in our mouths. Katrina grew up in the small electronic scene in Austin, TX. It started playing more than a decade ago. A member of the now defunct Intergalactic FM radio show Timelife Methrave. More than 100 of his tunnel dive podcasts incorporate sonic obscurities that deepen the expansive realm of electronic music. He has collaborated with Sneaker DJ and Joshua Cordova, these songs can be found on the labels Uncanny Vally and FIt Sound.
Neud Photo
Nico Nightingale, prolific producer of electro / experimental / wave with a discography that goes back to 2010, and that removes the hiccups. A native of New York, his solo project Neud Photo features a dossier of releases on several labels including VEYL, Return to Disorder and Rat Life to name a few, along with a formidable catalogue of additional projects, including INTRZN, XEROX, Polymer, Ceci N'est Pas and Wall $ treet. Neud Photo is a talented artist with an unhealthy addiction to hardware that offers live performances that are hard to forget if you've ever witnessed one, his ability with synthesizers is captured from the first minute of it.
Julio Tornero
He has been involved in a great variety of projects and groups (the best known Old Regime and Astral Hindu Polygon). July has also been publishing excellent references in recent years in stamps such as Conjunto Vacío, Cintas Chromo (subseyo of BFE records), Verlag System or Demonodrome. His last 12" in Fémur "Despojos Cósmicos" is a genius of dark electronics that drinks both from the freshest industrial EBM and from travelling experimentation. He has just published a compendium of old themes in cassette format for Fill-lex in which he unfolds styles, the height of very few producers, as well as his live performances.
Lex-Or & Go5
Lex-Or His journey with electronics began six years ago with sporadic dj sessions in electronic pubs close to ebm, dark-synth, minimal-synth and minimal-wave sounds. At the moment he captains the label Fill-Lex Records, electronic label based on the edition in vinyl of sounds next to the EBM/Dark Techno, happening through the darkest Electro and the Minimal Synth. He has just published his first song for the magazine Industrial Complexx in a compilation of artists in cassette format. Go5 for its part, is the project in music production and in constant evolution of Gorka Undersound vinyl distributor, dj and agitator of the northern scene since the beginning of the century from Cybertech. Collecting and producing syncopated sounds with textures and dark atmospheres of difficult cataloguing, he has been developing musical projects caressing and extending his knowledge in electro, techno and industrial of diverse nature. Throughout these years they have contributed to shape their abilities giving birth to their first vinyl cut together with their great friend, partner and founder of the label Lex-Or combining and adding joint energies in him.

Vinyl Box-Set limited to 500 copies + includes the Compilation on CD
Vinyl Box-Set ist auf 500 Stk. limitiert + beinhaltet die Compilation im CD Format Cocoon Recordings presents - Q' - the new edition of one of the longest running techno compilation series worldwide! We do not want to start again by mentioning how unbelievable it is that we have reached letter Q already ... and we do not even want to imagine how fast we will probably arrive at XYZ, if time continues to fly like this. The actual thrilling part of this compilation series is simply the fact that Techno seems to not grow any older in this form - isn't this amazing Here, in the truest sense of the word, we have a compilation of timeless material before us. With a broad bandwidth ranging from - futuristic-deconstructive' compositions such as 'Da Dang' by Alex & Digby and 'Fragile' by Carlos Nilmmns or the many contributions to Q that fancy almost anachronistic acid and trance influences: Everything sounds fresh and forward thinking! The vocal parts and the arrangement of 'All I Can (About you)' by Baba Stiltz appear like electronic singer songwriting. The musical approach of Baba Stiltz is slightly similar to big Pepe Bradock productions and their Dada aesthetic. In contrast to this, 'Anno Domini' by Kamran Sadeghi follows the sound approach of early Maurizio / Basic Channel records and reminds us that modern techno does not always have to be impulsive and kicking, and certainly does not define itself over the most extreme 'drops

Deep'a & Biri curate a bevy of much-respected underground techno specialists to further unravel and reimagine the vital and sophisticated sounds of 'Dominance', their full-length LP released earlier in 2018.
Midnight Operator, the collaborative project of Mathew and Nathan Johnson, begin the set with their trippy and transcendent take on 'False Memories'. A rare remix from the pair, their return has been worth the wait; an expertly executed techno excursion, it simultaneously burrows deeper into the psychedelic textures of the original, while providing a club-centred kick.
Further blending the experimental and the physical, Peter Van Hoesen provides a typically complex and compelling take on Voltage, deconstructing the original and expanding each element in myriad, rave-specific directions.
Deep'a & Biri enlist rising Dutch DJ-producer Deniro contributes a rolling, hypnotic version of Dominance's spectral centrepiece, 'Alpha Cephei', while Z.I.P.P.O. charges down a tense, big-room industrial tunnel for his interpretation of 'Seeking Solace', hitting on a cathartic groove after a passage of uncompromising noise.
Concluding the EP, Steinlac'h Records founder Wice reimagines 'Theories of Loneliness' in dubby but propulsive fashion.
The DJs Pareja have been flagging they’re a DJ duo in love long before the recent trend. ‘Pareja’ literally translates as ‘couple’, and that is just how Diego and Mariano do life; in tandem. It may not seem so radical these days, but the Pareja’s have been unapologetically queer trailblazers in their hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina - throwing raves and putting out pop dance records for decades. It took us years to get these boys to come play for us in San Francisco, but when they finally did, minutes off the plane we were hugging and shedding a little tear in front of the Castro theatre sign. I always knew that one day we would get them on the label, and this EP is a product of how far this new gay techno underground has come. So it is with great pleasure we present 4 tracks produced south of the Equator, mixed for the gods, with some signature vocals and some sounds we’ve never heard from these Argy boys sleeping in a Queen bed.

Warsaw’s newest imprint – Dom Trojga – launches with these
four acid-drenched, trance- inducing space-funk excursions by
Jaxe. Recorded in its entirety during an uneasy transitional
period in the summer of 2018, the EP plays out in a jittery void
between hope and despair. Employing his beloved vintage
electronic palette, Jaxe has created a record that combines
sincerity, elegance and depth, a vehicle for both introspection
and escapism. That being said, however, his tunes may also
simply cause you to wiggle, prance or trip the light fantastic.
The label art is by Sasha Zakrevska a.k.a. Poly Chain – look
out for her and other mavericks on forthcoming releases.

Juxta Position returns to his own Failsafe imprint with 4 post-modern techno pieces, exploring minimalist themes performed on more traditional sound sources, relying on pure sequencing rather than patch programming to convey moods and atmospheres.
Opener "Five Four Piano" recalls the work of modern classical composers such as Steve Reich, but reengineers the aesthetic to fit on techno dancefloors.
Likewise, "Orchestral Manouvers" continues this theme, whilst introducing a Millsian twist, and "Icicles" takes the idea even further into more looped techno territory.
E.P. Closer "Crisp Cold" concludes the record, with a cinematic and serious tone and almost gothic sensibility.
Four tracks which are a break from the usual, expected timbres of contemporary techno.
Leifur James released his debut album A Louder Silence in October 2018 on Late Night Tales original artist label Night Time Stories; home to Texan trio Khruangbin and the iconic Late Night Tales series. The record attracted immediate support from Pitchfork, KEXP, XLR8R, Mixmag 8/10, Future Music UK 9/10, Electronic Sound 9/10. In April 2019 ‘Wurlitzer’ was the first piece of music he revealed from a new creative period after those sessions. The video was created by animator/director Balázs Simon, premiering on Boiler Room and was nominated for the BMVA Berlin Music Video Awards in the experimental music category, airing at the British Film Insitute BFI Southbank London.
Now in September 2019 he has prepared a remix EP 12" of the debut album A Louder Silence, featuring a slew of the finest musicians in electronic music today. Blueberry Records founder FaltyDL aka Drew Lustman comes first with a deep, skipping 2-stepping reversion of Mumma Don’t Tell. Bruce coming off the back of his hugely well received debut album for Hessle Audio has a “resymph” of Osho in typical mind-bending austere electronic style. Whities producer and Tirzah/Mica Levi collaborator Coby Sey reconstructs Suns of Gold with his sampler, and also accompanying it, is Leifur’s own remix of suns of Gold.
