After a long time, Rhadow and NTFO finally met in the studio again to work on the next edition of
Sintope's Slagare series. But not just another regular session... The Romanians went fully
analogue for a couple of days without phones and computers - just drum machines and
instruments. The result is Slagare Vol. 5 and comes with two tracks in a very limited vinyl only
edition of just 300 copies. So better be quick.

Evod presents A Child's Eyes, an EP with an old-school imprint. Bright Enigma is very psychedelic and mystic thanks to the main sound that is the nucleus of all the tracks; for this reason there is a synth solo, that has a great impact on the listener. The second track, Trials, has groovy drums and dynamic synth sounds, inspired by the classic Techno USA.

it is the second part of a trilogy that features his detailed sonic landscapes that are full of mystery and power. while his last fp-oner album 5' was leaning more to the jazzier, relaxed and atmospherically side of his artistically deep house expressions, the runner-up grinds even deeper into spherical worlds that enhance deep meditative highs.
they are not made for club use only. in fact all eleven compositions work also massively without big speakers. again the new york city native that is working on his very own music for almost 20 years produced a journey inwards that is compelling, mesmerising and enchanting.
you find cosmic dust in it as well as dark entropies, percussive power, sweet seducing melodies and rolling bass power that shakes your inner and outer profoundly. the tracks are listening to names like awakening co creator', alternate reality' or adjusted perception' and the album title 6' stands for a meaning,
that fp-oner describes like this: 6 represents the number of man and his or her limitations, weakness and imperfections.
this body of work examines and looks towards one awakening. adapting to a new way of being creating an alternative and reaping a higher state of mind and being. enhanced by love and serenity, satisfaction and joy.'
all tunes are produced around the world, as he is a guy who never stops feeling in sound. that is why he caries his studio around to get up in the middle of the night or right in the morning after a sweaty party to transfer his emotions directly into sound. the result is massively powerful music with slow, intimate passages for treacly melodies, stirring synth-lines and little rhythmical quaintness.
an almost lyrical house journey that works like a musical sculpture in which organic machine grooves float along keys on air. the evolution of the each track is impeccable and their power grows with any new listening session. fp-oner himself characterizes his art like that: 'my music is designed to enhance deep meditative, or altered states, to allow the listener to personally connect to the creator of all that exists in the universe.
my music style is to first create a foundation using cyclic, polyrhythmic music, then build several layers of improvised leads and rhythms that allows you to transcend time and space... we have memories of past lives that reverberate in our hearts like echoes from ancient caves'.
there is nothing more to add, except that those who do not know fp-oner so far should know that he danced in his younger years in legendary new york city clubs like the red zone, sound factory or tunnel to dj sets of larger-than-life selectors like david morales, frankie knuckles or danny tenaglia.
during those nights he learned that sometimes less is more. and that he should rather listen to your heart and soul, then to the susurrus of the music market. most of the eps and albums that he produced under his other monikers like fred p or black jazz consortium have been released via his very own label soul people music, which exists since more then ten years.
as fred p he also dropped 12inches on jus-ed's underground quality imprint as well as on toshiya kawasaki's mule musiq label. for the latter he now is working on a trilogy under the fp-oner alias. this little paper introduces the second part of it. the final one will hit your heart and soul in an unwritten future. whatever circumstances of life will be around by then: you can be sure that fp-oner will transfigure them into a dynamic emotional and spiritual terrain.

* Oikos is the experimental project formed in 2007 by Rafael Femiano and David San Martín. Initially conceived as a guitar improv experiment, the duo quickly evolves towards their cinematic signature sound, and publish their first record "Ecotono" (2011) on the american label Utech Records.

* In 2012, San Martín moves to Moscow and Rafael Femiano remains as a solo act. After the release of "Vigilia" (2013, Knockturne Records), Oikos presents his second LP "The Great Upheaval", co-released between Envelope Collective and Knockturne Records.

* "The Great Upheaval" is an imaginary soundtrack for every moment in history ravaged by violence and superstition. A collection of pieces projecting landscapes dusted by seizures and turmoils. These layered compositions are packed of electricity and analogue walls, acoustic textures, drone strings and cinematic looped-movements. A sonic cathedral illuminated only by the fire that remains after battle and precedes the cult. A sonic miasma for each end of cycle.

After a year from his debut EP on RLGN the artist that hides behind the "SRNDR" acronym has again something to say. "Forward From Past Lives" is his last exploration into the conscious, memories and mind. Dark, visceral and uncompromising as usual the track takes the pulsating elements already present in his frst work to a next level, stimulating a sort of hypnosis in the audience. Juho Kusti take over the B-Side this time with a stunning personal reinterpretation of the title track that rewards the patient listener.

The first compilation on the Dresden based label shtum unites three label regulars and one newbie with four tracks suitable for rampant basements. "Motorcity Racers" has been on rotation for quite some time amongst the label heads and is the first sign from Poland's Chino on shtum. It floats somewhere between dirty Detroit and the rough corners of the Netherlands. Leibniz delivers the "Real Life", a relatively straight follow-up to his latest EP, while Jaures hit their drum machines like there is no tomorrow. Perm's cut is all loopy and succeeds in creating an irresistible atmosphere with just a few elements. The artwork comes courtesy of Carl-Johannes Schulze.

After a fabulous summer and a mind-blasting Krake Festival, Killekill takes its next step and kicks off another new label called VANTA SERIES, which is destined for small series of 12"es with out-standing dancefloor tracks. The name derives from Vantablack, a colour from nano technology, which is the blackest black and actually invisible. Vanta therewith stands for the total emptiness and is the perfect name for a label which does not have a defined identity itself but is a platform for different series, which will all have a concept and aesthetic in itself.
The first series is called "The End Is Near". It consists of 4 releases and comes with an artwork by French artist Elzo Durt. Every release will contain a small poster, all four posters put together become Elzo Durt's piece "Les anges de l'apocalypse".
First record is by DEZ WILLIAMS, who also released on Shipwrec and Bass Agenda recently. A-Side Acidbanger is a serious banger and has future acid classic written all over it. The B-side comes with two acid variations - one more stingy, one emotional and psychedelic - which show the potential of this outstanding producer.

The unstoppable trio was back at work on Mallorca in Pig&Dan's techno ministry to create another colourful techno anthem while Alberto Ruiz was literally next door to rework last year's anthem 'Soulstice'. Monika Kruse, the german Queen of Techno doing serious negotiations with the two Elevate ministers definitely makes sense and should reign the techno world with all its power.

'Kamikiri' rounds up the EP with its relentless tribal beat and arpeggio that will cheer up even the darkest souls. ONLY on vinyl!

Token certainly have their staples - Ctrls, Ø (Phase) or Inigo Kennedy making regular appearances. The last release on Token for example, Ø (Phase)'s 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12' showed the producer enjoys a level of familiarity with the label, allowing him to indulge his more leftfield tendencies, resulting in some truly captivating dancefloor moments.

Just as often Token will ingratiate new talent to the roster however, continuously reshaping their boundaries. The most recent record comes from one such new addition. In the wider sense though, it'd hardly be fair to call Parisian producer Antonin Jeanson aka Antigone fresh-faced. Since debuting in 2011 on Zadig's then relatively new Construct Re-Form label, Jeanson has enjoyed an impressively consistent run of releases, despite his penchant for sounds which are a little out of the ordinary.

His inaugural release with Kr!z's Token Records, the 'Cantor Dust' EP, is similarly reflective of his inclination to mix the abstract with the functional. Jeanson's movements across the release are difficult to second guess - 'Anna Livia' opens with Klaus Schulze reminiscent, spacial electronica, yet the serenity doesn't last for long. 'Enter' asserts Jeanson's dancefloor sensibilities, chugging forward unfalteringly. The track builds at a steady pace, before the anthemic 'Prime Mover' provides a sudden release of tension. Jeanson's reverberant stabs lunge forward, driving low-end thudding militantly beneath.

From here the EP dives back into more sinister territories - the serpentine 'Voltage' or gurgling, abstract melodies of 'Astragal' have a similarly rugged texture to them. 'Artefakt' is equally muscular, and undoubtedly one of the record's most climactic moments. The interplay between rasping mechanical percussion, booming low-end and grinding drones is rushingly intense.

'Cantor Dust's structure proves well-designed to the last however. The celestial 'Blue Note' provides a moment of reflection, distant synthesisers easing out gently - an emotive chord progression floating melancholically above Jeanson's booming rhythms. It is the calm after the storm, a moment to savour, and reflect on the trip.

Milos has been causing quite a stir of late with his limited handstamped MSR & Milos Recordings projects, gaining support from key players including Ben Sims, Gez Varley (LFO), and Colin Dale. Now we look forward to Receptive Visions, a label focused on no bullsh*t, real dancefloor techno. Kicking off with the euphoric yet raw "Reconery Flight", razor sharp hats, and massive drops pave the way for gauranteed dancefloor response! Flip for "Away Days", heads straight down, with a distinct gnarled, ragged intensity and thick pulsating grooves! One to watch!

Making his Hot Creations debut is Belfast's very own Phil Kieran with 'Make A Change' and heavyweights Nathan Barato and Matrixxman on remixes. Acting as a teaser this release is the precursor to Kieran's soon coming album 'Blinded By The Sun' on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss's almighty label in October.
'Make A Change' sees synths and drum machines being brought together by a simple vocal that acts a mantra, 'I wanted to send out a positive message onto the dance floor that could empower people. For over a decade Kieran has dedicated his career to producing and DJing to his very best ability, resulting in a reputation that is undoubtedly as solid as the music he makes. He has previously worked with Green Velvet, and was personally chosen by Depeche Mode to remix 'Sweetest Perfection'. Having released on ULTRAMAJIC, Hotflush, Cocoon, Turbo and his own imprint Phil Kieran Recordings, Kieran is an unwavering figure within the techno scene. His unprecedented skills in production have also meant that he's created film scores alongside David Holmes and released music under his alias Le Carousel.
Canadian Nathan Barato returns once more to Hot Creations and delivers a remix charged with his signature after-hours energy. Matrixxman switches up the mood entirely with his unyielding remixes, made entirely for the real techno-heads.

After an acclaimed album on Soma and two releases on Echocord Colour, it's time for Italian producer and sound designer Roberto Clementi to join the Kontra-Musik family. With that kind of discography, you'd expect dub and lot's of it, but this in not your average dub techno record. With the use of tape and field recordings and an array of analogue machinery Roberto Clementi has created what we would like to call an "All nighter". The steady thumps and growling dubs of the title track Diodes is the perfect welcome to a dark and smoky dance floor, and the sweeping synths and life sustaining open hihat of the last track, Into, is the perfect goodbye. Between the open and the close you have have the analogue grit and amplitude of The Optimist for peak time purposes, as well as a refreshingly dizzy-making breath of fresh air from 15 years. Afterwards, as you stumble out in the bright morning light, your head will still be echoing with Roberto Clementi's exquisite craftsmanship. From early to late, from late to early - Diodes is a round the clock musical treatment from Kontra-Musik.

An unexpected warehouse find takes us way back to the days of early R-A-V-E. My first attempt was this industrialbreak sort of idea but I kicked it away and tried many other versions. I thought I can do something like - XTC' but it just didn't work out. So, I decided to re-visit my very first idea and YES it became my favorite version. This process is a good example of trusting your initial feelings and intuition.'

Amsterdam's coveted FORMAT returns with a fresh slice of techno funk by Argentinean producer Flug. FORMAT's latest offering sees Flug throwing down his signature techno sound across three tracks, all of which are centered around stripped grooves and menacing fx. First up is 'Obscure Cells', which combines an infectious synth arp to an ever evolving groove with the outcome being a very hypnotic track. 'X28' turns things up a notch with a powerful offbeat groove and mental synth squeaks, while the highly energetic 'TRIP02' marks a venture into Detroit techno territory. A highly diverse EP of A grade quality, this one... FORMAT's ninth release has become another dancefloor damaging piece of work...

A rediscovered classic released by the legendary XXC3 imprint in co-operation with Temple Records NYC back in 1994. Khan & Gill-Mann are serving deep and well tripping Acid-flavored Intelligent Techno with their conjunctional effort - Ear Goggles' on the A-side whilst Khan's solo tune - B-Men' deals with hypnotic and floating Ambient vibes and robotic beats for late night ChillOut floor. A seminal 10' release for sure. 33 RPM!

Under the moniker Shed, Pawlowitz published three highly ambitious albums in which he defined his work more and more as his own way of musical narration. 'The Final Experiment' is definitely the temporary highlight of this evolution. As musical work it does establish Shed conclusively as one of the most interesting and substantial electronic music artists of our time. It carries a vibe, that links Shed to other boundary breaking artists such as Ryuichi Nakamoto, Brian Eno and Carsten Nicolai. However, Shed found a way to develop a highly individual way of communicating electronic music, that is self-sufficient. 'The Last Experiment' is a mostly homogeneous piece of work, a meditation, where the stylistic confusion seems less important than then musical statement that it represents.

/DL/MS/ is the new project of Dan Lodig and Martin Sovinz, who have joined forces for a three-track debut of jacking analogue techno that brings both artists' fortes to the table. Dan Lodig contributes the rhythmics and staggering arpeggios. Martin Sovinz complements this with the eerie keys and masterful effect use that show off his impressive skills of putting his analogue gear park to work. Far from being a one-off project, /DL/MS/ have been working on their music over the past months, and further releases on Pomelo, TRUST, and more are on the horizon.

The inaugural release on Mutual Friend Recordings is a collaboration between dc Sux and label owners Our Mutual Friend.

dc Sux is a producer that caught the ear of Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich (Atoms For Peace, Ultraista) in 2012, remixing Ultraista's 'Bad Insect' which was mastered by Godrich himself and included on the remix package of the groups debut album. Here his track 'Tulip' is an ethereal trip anchored by a warm bottom-end.

Our Mutual Friend have been DJ'ing together for a number of years, getting together recently to combine their production talents. Their remix of dc Sux 'Tulip' is the result of several live jams with the parts and their 909 drum machine, upping the pace and reinventing it for the dance floor.

'Body of Water' from Our Mutual Friend is as lush as it hypnotic, dc Sux remix of the track takes it techno. Mastering is courtesy of Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin and the run is limited to 200 records.

Will Saul's AUS Music has seen a number of new additions to the roster this year as the label continues to prosper. Now - adding to names such as Timothy Blake, Geeman and Escape, AUS welcome in another auspicious producer by the name of Fold. Having released records on Man Make Music and Electric Minds - Fold lines up his 'Netflix & Chill' EP: a potent stack of Hip-Hop indebted House tracks backed up by the extolled and shady Kassem Mosse on remix duties. 'Calmer Mood' kicks things off, hopping between bpms and driving grubby and groovy samples over a rough kick. Filters control builds peaks and troughs guaranteed to set things off before 'Wallop' rattles off with powerful 909 drums and truncated samples in a manner that will please fans of his 'Mr Wood' no end. 'Dreamscape' then melds deftly chopped breaks with Jazz melodies to set a rich, blue tone that's propelled into overdrive by splashing drum solos stitched together with flare. Workshop owner Kassem Mosse then offers up his interpretation of 'Dreamscapes' and in doing so introduces a subtle degree of melancholy to the original that links rich, spectral pads with tumbling breaks and delayed Sax stabs that round off another fine addition to AUS' catalogue.

Happa kicks off the year with the third 12' on his PT5 imprint and the first of several releases
planned for the mercurial Leeds producer in 2017. Lead track 'Bum Trance' pitches futurist Drexciya synth optimism against frantic metallic drum programming adding another level to Happa's increasingly diverse production armoury. Intense punk techno monster
'Hallunciations' first appeared in 2015 on various mix tapes and radio shows and now appears in it's full release to complete the 12'.

Australian producer Knightilfe returns with his most refined release to date, inspired this time by the rawness of early house and balearic sounds.
After a three year hibernation following 2011's I Want You EP, Knightilfe finally returned to the fold with his Tangerine Dream-inspired cut Don't Stop opening Cut Copy's Oceans Apart compilation, a collection of Australia's foremost producers in which he featured alongside fellow Melbourne dance royalty Tornado Wallace, Andras Fox and Roland Tings. Don't Stop was then released as an EP in early 2015, which also featured a cosmic rinse of the title track by Running Back and Rush Hour's disco don Suzanne Kraft alongside an original acidic number titled Interstate 08.

Having since relocated to the UK, supporting Cut Copy DJs on their recent tour of the USA and headlining Cooper Saver's decadent Far Away party in Los Angeles, Gamwell is set to round out 2015 with the release of his four-track EP VII. A refinement of the hedonistic sounds from his previous releases, this record reveals a concoction of house, acid and slow-burning balearic rhythm structures, stripping back the layers and re emerging from the haze.

Leisure System alum Kommune1 has been a fixture of the extended Infinite Machine family for a while now, but it's only now that he finally graces us with an EP's worth of originals. "Immolate" is easily his most accomplished work to date, seamlessly integrating his many influences into a cohesive, absorbing whole.
Lead track "Galax(o)" is an electronic music scholar's dream, rife with nods to all of its eras and walks, layered akin to the notes and chords of a perfume. Its ideal candidacy as object of analysis aside, however, this is no home-listening fodder; but a singular techno belter, equally capable of peak-time sustenance or 5am catharsis. Its most easily distinguishable tips-of-the-hat are to early Kevin Saunderson, via its reese-led construction, and to Burial-circa-Loner, via its desolate, dubbed-out atmosphere, ghostly vocal interjections and no-nonsense 4/4 pulse. "Phlaetus" continues the story, less concerned with the dancefloor but, paradoxically, more insistent on rhythm, weaving UKG skip, step and shuffle into the steel-reinforced concrete of the techno backbone.
"Axiom", on the other hand, is an exercise in suspended animation, seemingly capturing an ideal moment in time and repeating it every other beat...; only gradually introducing achronic artifacts that seem to gently hold the listener's hand throughout the hypnotic progression. For their remix, Effy don't stray too far from the original, but apply a melodic techno masterstroke, in the form of an infectious, otherworldly synth riff. It pervades the entirety of their take, filtering in and out, unwavering.

Modernista Records reaches it's fifth release and it's over to Paul Bennett again with a pair of impressively varied productions.

'On Before Off' is stripped to the bare bones techno with ever contorting razor-sharp arpeggios. As a counter balance, 'Although Sometimes Appear' is deep, emotive, melodic house with sound system-shaking bottom end.

UK house veteran Phil Asher arrives on Rekids with the latest project in his storied career, a collaboration with emergent London poet & musician James Massiah. Having chanced upon him a performance during a Fiona Bevan Presents night at Dalston's Servant's Jazz Quarters, Asher immediately approached Massiah about a possible collaboration: "As soon as I heard James I knew I had to work with him. His poetry is infectious, textured & interesting. 'Time & Space' took years to imagine but 25 minutes to write. It took James approximately the same amount of time to lay his poem down."
Asher approached Matt Edwards with the results, and the Time & Space EP was confirmed for release on Rekids: two original cuts of futuristic house emboldened by Massiah's electrifying street poetry, and a reprise version of the title track which steps away from the dancefloor to bring the lyrical content into sharper focus.

Poverty is violence return once more deliberately shaking up the place and blurring the house / techno divide, label owners Tapirus aka Rotterdams underground techno hero Charlton and Nick Dunton of legendary techno label Surface and 65D Mavericks fame serve up a split EP... Nick throws an early stone into the water as he makes his comeback with the new and deliberately quirky D-56M side-project fusing techno and oddball Chi-Town weirdness, incorporating concepts from Zamyatin's We, he turns in two hybrid ghetto bangers.

First up Charles takes his cue from early acid house, fusing it with techno sensibilities and turning styles on their heads with end time basses, insane bleeps and left of centre attitude. A1 is a tough rolling acidic banger with cutting beats. The super killer A2 which has been getting hammered around Europe the last year is a highlight - pure manicness and not for the faint hearted. A3 is reminiscent of Larry Heard's early output - DX7 bass lines, beautiful melodies and lush strings fuse to create a searching acid house vibe.

On the flip AA1's French Cats is full of jazz influence... super rolling basses and Wurlitzer keys helping to carve a fresh house sound that takes Randomer-esque influences and jacks them to hell. AA2 is the super smooth but anarchic Question Authority full of sweet melodies, strings, chords, rolling old skool riffs and a super sub bass fused with dark voices - it's purist Non-conformity with attitude, swing and message.

This EP is already getting caned by the more adventurous DJs on the circuit - Stand for something or fall for anything is the labels tag-line and you can expect more heavy hitters blurring the genre lines soon with a super-secretive project already in production from one of the world's top players...

The album 'A Little Comedy, A Little Drama' by Dusty Baron is the result of collaboration of Moldavian fellows Eugen Kara, Ivan Slivka and Dima Scripnic.This collaboration has been lasting in the course of 2016, with miscellaneous recordings at home studios, including Moldavian Radio and Television Studio.
Inspired by French and Italian psychedelic electronic music of 60s and 70s, cartoons and the comedian genre of absurd, the trio tried to incarnate their vision of the Space into a LP comprising 13 tracks. Vintage synthesiser lines and classic drum machines create a hugely entertaining blend intoxicated with universal love. Now and then you trace the combinations of techno rhythms rushing into the futuristic vertical, and sometimes the sound transforms into a blend of absolute and exotically influenced reverie.

Swimming In Light is a gripping durational study in perpetual tension and release by a gifted double bass soloist, Mike Majkowski, for the ever-curious ntr'acte label.
It's the Australian composer's 6th solo album since his debut, Ink On Paper (2008) and possibly the strongest demonstration of his innovative extended technique, deployed in two subtly contrasting yet equally hypnotic sides.
Using rapid bowing technique to paradoxically generate ostensibly static, sine wave-like tones, coupled with analogue synth, vibes, piano, percussion and field recordings, Majowski explores the perceptions of 'stillness' and 'movement' which give dynamic form to the content of musical composition.
Effectively, the Berlin-based artist makes his main instrument sound electronic, yet due to the acoustic harmonic richness it's capable of, the results render a much lusher, immersive, and subtly chaotic spectrum of spectral sonics than one might typically expect from purely electronic sources.
In multiple parts, the shimmering swell of Radio Weather Vending Machine offers a cyclical resolution of hi-speed ostinato gesture, the sound of the gesture, and the overtones which exist independent of that gesture; in effect creating a sort of Nth variable which he attempts to isolate and intensify over the course of the piece, conjuring a clammy, paranoid atmosphere recalling Harley Gaber's Winds Rise In The North in the process.
However, the B-side, Structure and Posture appears to operate on the flipside of that wave, dissipating the tension into slow, swooning contours giving rise to a glowing aurora of consonant overtones, which, once you've settled into their shadows, begin to deeply recall the doom jazz introspection of Bohren Und Der Club of Gore or the exquisiteness of Elodie stretched into the horizon.

Scrape starts with a slow minimalistic acid bomb tones aimed to burn the dancefloor. Side B continues with Meltdown, a dub track where the chords slowly progress to their peaks, underlined by a heavy kickdrum. The E.P. finishes with Flotation, keeping its core minimalistic concept, full of sub bass and high treble, reminiscing of early Hood or Mills.

On this new record hailing from Aarhus, Central delivers a more or less floor friendly collection of works. With his curious and unorthodox approach to dance music, this EP offers 4 very different pieces of music. The opening track Fresh Context a vivid yet robust house jam is followed by the spontaneous and unpolished Gentle Vertigo. B side starts off with Fell, a moody and eerie spin in experimento land. The final track Kessem is a melodic and punchy cut. Central delivered releases on Nord Records and Yield earlier this year, revealing respectively a darker techno game and a loose house vibe. To those who arent familiar with Help Recordings, Central s widespread sound offers a premium introduction to the labels output. Playful yet serious.

Well, what about Tuesday Israeli hybrid house and techno masters Juju & Jordash return to Dekmantel Records with yet another outstanding release. Their relentless work ethos makes you wonder if these guys sleep at all. Maybe that's what Tuesdays are for DKMNTL 043 is a three-tracker and a fine display of Gal Aner's and Jordan Czamanski's next-level, improv based way of painting records. 'Monday Mellow' is a dubbed out, twisted and subtly emerging house groover, while 'Wednesday Something' continues the journey with a dense electronic jazz-tinged stomper. 'Thursday, Heavy.' demonstrates their full range, combining eerie melodic synth excursions with a jagged bassline - an out of this world, destructive yet classy house bomb. As always their intergalactic excursions are superbly executed. Let's give them some rest on those Tuesdays.

Growing more deeply into RAAR's punk ethos, Maelstrom and Louisahhh's tracks on the label's fourth release are as much about process as end product. Several days of one-room, one-take live sessions involving guitar feedback, machine cacophony and endless growling and shouting resulted in 'Hurry' and 'Listen'. these song were molded into work that is at once unconventional and club-ready with much effort in preserving the feral qualities of the original material.

SNTS Records has released 6 EPs arranged as parts of two trilogies, Chapters and Scenes, and SNTS's debut album proper, The Rustling Of The Leaves. A couple other artists have also contributed remixes, with Shifted appearing on Scene III and Polar Inertia set to surface again on the album. Pinkman stoke the furnaces of despair, fuelling them with Black Merlin. Conveyor belts grunt out resentment, cold chords curl, synthlines sneer and pallid percussion punctuates. Noise echoes above, hammered clanks exploding into shards. Below the work continues, sweat smeared stains and hissing airless gasps. In the end, all is swallowed; gulped into the gaping assembly line.

Fjaak's path led them from the periphery to the centre and from there further through the world. Their self titled debut album for Monkeytown is as much of a summary of what had happened in the previous three years as it is an artistic statement. "FJAAK" combines the energetic peak-time sound of the Berlin-based trio's acclaimed Techno singles like 'Unten / Oben' with sophisticated breakbeat arrangements and atmospherically dense Ambient textures. These eleven tracks are the provisional highlight in a unique success story which started aside club culture's conventions and to this day refuses to compromise.

Felix Wagner, Aaron Röbig and Kevin Kozicki were still teenagers when they developed a distinct sound which positioned itself outside beaten paths, both geographically and musically speaking. The trio cut their teeth in Berlin-Spandau's open-air scene and celebrated their frst success in the city's center shortly thereafter before taking the Techno world by storm with their elaborate analogue sound. Having released a few records, they found a permanent home on Modeselektor's Monkeytown in 2014 while incessantly traveling the world.

"FJAAK" draws its overwhelming power from Fjaak's signature hands-on mentality and radiates the explosive charm of their live sets. Earlier this year, Fjaak let FACTmag into their Berlin studio for an Against The Clock feature, the result of which - an anthemic Techno jam - showcases the trio's spontaneous working process. 'Against The Clock' sounds rough and unpolished, just like it's supposed to be: Fjaak capture their jam sessions' energy on "FJAAK". Apart from the previously released tracks to be found on the single 'Wolves / Pray For Berlin', the album also features a reworked version of the Fjaak classic 'Gewerbe 15'.
However, "FJAAK" is far more than a document of Fjaak's studio virtuosity. On it, Kozicki, Röbig und Wagner channel the diverse infuences that have informed their unique sound from the very beginning. On 'Sixteen Levels', you can hear their love for UK Bass sound while 'Snow' and the vivid collaborations with Rødhåd or Modeselektor highlight a more placid side of Fjaak. Whether it's peak-time Techno or the cowbell-heavy breakbeats of 'Fast Food': "FJAAK" seamlessly blends the musical tensions between subtle textures, raw kicks and smart arrangements. Here and there, there are references to a specifc 90s sound. However, "FJAAK" is first and foremost dedicated to a new musical future.

Following his recent outing as one half of Dot Product and a number of well-received EPs on Luke Slater's Mote Evolver label, Chris Jarman returns in his Kamikaze Space Programme guise for a new EP on Osiris Music uk. Opener Clickersintroduces a loop that permeates the entire track — an exercise in meditative repetition,KSP-style — followed by the sci-fi bleeps and sub-bass thuds of Pax. On the other side, Thalamic Transplant heads straight for the floor with more repetition: this time the alarm-like glitches ofw a malfunctioning spaceship. The EP closes with a version of'Clickers' reworked by label boss Mønic, complete with half-time cavernous kicks and cosmos-sized reverbs.

Where To Now Records are proud to present the debut 12' from Dublin based Melly. On 'Flying Ducks' Melly gives us four varied cuts that showcase his unique and unrestricted style of body music beautifully.

On 'Skip Fire' Melly takes sinister raves sounds and fires them across a core of ever intensifying percussion. The drums, with their apparent simplicity and almost swaggering or brutishly insistent presence, become a powerful statement. When placed amid elements more readily associated with techno / hardcore we are invited to enjoy a, perhaps, more rudimentary sounding form of rhythmic embellishment, but one that becomes just as deep, complex and intrinsic to the composition's power. The roaring percussion morphs into a sustained and highly pressured pulse ... The sirens sound, bodies assemble, the firing range begins, melee ensues.

The title track 'Flying Ducks' comes across like a reflection on an attempted aura of organisation and calm amid a scene of chaos. Much like the assumed title association of the duck presumably struggling in flight, v-shaped and temporarily structured, battling against the tumultuousness force of nature... perhaps. The beat threading it's way through the track guides us through a seemingly spontaneous and ever present soundscape that calls to mind the crepuscular canopy of an imagined digital rainforest with all its strange interjections and growing chorus of unique voices. Throughout this track, and the whole record infact, Melly's sound takes on an almost Post-Punk/Minimal wave edge that also completely embraces the level of experimentation and universal musical influence associated with that era.

On hand to assist in remixing 'Skip Fire' into a ferocious dancefloor destroyer is friend and fellow Dubliner Lumigraph (Mister Saturday Night, Opal Tapes, Major Problems), moulding the roaring percussion into a complete blaze of fury, demolishing everything it touches whilst still holding close a deep low end groove. A woozy synth line eases the pressure at times, but after every break the fire returns with further intensity and rage.

Melly rounds things off with 'Windproof'. The strutting pulse returns but this time concerns are certainly centred more on experiments in bass and timbre rather than an all out exploratory descent into controlled chaos. Coming across like a lost On-U-Sound cut, 'Windproof' allows itself the space to explore dubbed out ghostly sonars, radiophonic transmissions, and haunted rewinds.

Roberto Capuano releases his first single on Truesoul with two exceptional tracks that show a tech-ier side to Roberto's sound and one that impresses throughout.

The title track 'Never Stop' has been a highlight in Adam Beyer's sets and its easy to understand why.

The creeping vocal and driving drums are an inaugural part of the track before the uniquely pleasing pads drop in and create a gripping and immersive track to get lost in. 'Around' is a tech-ier track that implements a throbbing underlying bass line that sits and keeps the track driving under a roaring vocal.

After emerging from years of seclusion below the Chicago underground last year, Marquis Cooper aka Svengalisghost, returns with all new material recorded this winter somewhere between the woods of North Carolina and the streets of NYC. An advocate in creating what he calls the "Anti-Beat", Cooper takes what he's learned from the traditional machine experimentation of the early pioneers, reconstructs and retransmits the sounds which lie somewhere in the realm of unhinged synth punk or industrial forward-thinking beat electronics. These tracks are truly the essence of HOUSE, and a vicious circle it is.

Madrid's Analogical Force reaches number five and are proud to present the V/A series called Voiceless. Herva, of Delsin, Kontra, MOS and All City fame, offers another set of forward-thinking dancefloor bombs. Across four tracks this young Italian demonstrates his unique interpretation of the past and the future again and again.

Herva is the artist name of Herve Atsè Corti. He was born in 1991, and has been surrounded by music from the beginning thanks to his family. He made a reputation for himself early on at high school as a talented drummer, but, intrigued by electronic music he decided to start making his own beats with a laptop. A few years later Bosconi Records released his early productions, both as Herva both and as Life's Track (a side project with Dukwa). He is also part of Tru West, a collective he founded with Mass Prod, Rufus and Raffaele Amenta.

Concept is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency My Favourite Freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in December 2015. All tracks will be released on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. International celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector's item.
The first Concept EP is featuring four techno and tech house tracks for every occasion.

Christian Smith opens the show with his techno track - Drive like a firework. Fast and groovy played 909 hihats combined with a repeating lead bass loop is always a guarantor for a peak time track. But it's not enough with that. Christian adds a second acid like synth line, which drills his message in your brain: Party like a freak!

Already known for great tracks on My Favourite Freaks Music, Hermanez delivered his next techno beat monster - Technoid . Composed of different layers of filtered beats and synth lines, the groove tantalizes everybody who is listening. Techno par excellence!

After his album Transitions, Danny Serrano is back in his studio and created another stomping techno tune called - Trumped . Hypnotic looped vocals and minimalistic melodies with a huge break down lead into a classic and functional techno drop. This is definitely a big tool for DJs and of course a great peak time track for all dancefloors!

Last but not least, the already successful collaboration M.in & Yost Koen round the first Concept EP off with their interpretation of technoid tech house. The result is a minimal 909 beat driven track named - Booty Clap . The stompy groove and the catchy synth line is a demand to dance - get your dancing shoes and clap as much booties as you can!

Avid Sequence is a young fresh artist from Malta. His music can be intense and energetic with that hint of tension as we can hear in the three tracks he kindly produced for the label. Tipping his cap to 90s industrial techno, the A side delivers two uncompromising cuts. 'MDCCLXXII' is pacy and tough - brash drums merging with metallic, tonal signals and searing hats. 'Tor' is similarly

up-tempo however more stripped in comparison, Bnjmn continuing his inventive and challenging sound design in this Beltram-esque bassline killer.
The B side makes quite a contrast - 'T.E.N.S' being a short collage of buzzing,

cerebral electronics, leading into 'Where The Wild Berries Grow'. It's a fuzzy, hypnotic trip stretching out over 8 minutes - a glistening blend of lo-fi ambience and post-club psychedelia, all the while keeping us locked into a padded 4/4 throb.

Craig Smith has been involved in electronic music since the early nineties, over the years Smith has earned


critical acclaim for his collaborative guise with The Revenge; 6thBorough Project. Smith's material has been


released via reputable imprints such as Delusions Of Grandeur, Permanent Vacation and Use Of Weapons, so


it's safe to say his production skills are second to none, and it's no surprise to see him joining the Teng roster


here, following the likes of Neville Watson, Nubian Mindz and Paul Mac.


Opening the single is the original version of title track 'Only When It Is Darkest', a classy, understated number


built around dreamy melodies, gritty analogue bass, off-kilter rhythms and spoken word vocal lines. The latter


stages then sees the melodic elements unfold as Smith works in jazzy piano licks, pizzicato strings and


tension building pads to great effect. Phil Asher steps up to rework 'Only When It Is Darkest' next under his


Phlash alias, as expected from Asher the mix is soul-drenched house music at its finest, fuelled by resonant,


evolving synth stabs, punchy bass hits and bumpy, swinging beats.

next, stripping back the percussive aspects to a swirling filtered groove, while the warm, ethereal melodic


sounds take the reins and steadily blossom over the compositions seven and a half minutes. Closing the


release is another original from Smith, entitled 'Matter Don't Matter', the cut takes on a more organic form this


time with natural percussive sounds, soft Rhodes melodies and throbbing low-end tones, a perfect closing

Limited vinyl edition of two previously digital-only singles by Berlin singer, songwriter, and producer. Dan Bodan, hailed by Pitchfork as "an expression of the storied NYC dance label's more oddball tastes." First up is "Anonymous", a poignant portrait of yearning for the post-Facebook generation. The A side is rounded out with a remix by DJ Richard (1/2 White Material with Young Male) that manages to drag the track to even deeper depths of anxiety. The flip features 2013 single "Hunger Games", a widescreen epic of a track that will be stripped down to the bare minimum on Dan's forthcoming LP. It features production by left-field dance geniuses Physical Therapy and Ville Haimala of Renaissance Man. Comes in a custom spineless picture sleeve featuring an illustration by Julien Ceccaldi.

Spanish producer I.A. Bericochea has been hiding his talents in the shade for some time now. Idle Hands boss Chris Farrell first came across his productions many moons ago when he released two of the finest 12"s on the m_nus label and a superb self released LP 'Sueno'.

In those days his productions quietly asserted themselves as some of the most beguiling in minimal techno. His sparse, avant garde approach to the genre was at odds with the limp bleeps and blips that came to dominate the scene. In the intervening years his output has itself been somewhat minimal... Now Bericochea is back, making his debut for Idle Hands with the 'Wake Up' EP. Simply titled W1-4, here we find Bericochea at his best channeling all that was good about his earlier productions but sounding more vital than ever in an era of overly shiny house and blokey hard techno.

This latest installment in the Stroboscopic saga once again calls upon the talents of two label veterans, both having released EPs on the label while also contributing to its five-year retrospective series. This new split release shared between Kangding Ray and Rrose is a fitting partnership: after all, both individuals are known for advancing the progress of rhythmic electronic music while drawing from creative influences and movements that weren't typically associated with the 'techno' lineage until these producers made such links possible.

Kangding Ray's side, Ardent,' is a gripping and propulsive piece formed in the same spirit as the songs from his latest full-length, Cory Arcane. Dramatic and cinematic from beginning to end, it makes the listener and/or dancer feel like a highly alert martial artist slicing and kicking through a host of liquid-metallic adversaries, with disciplined synth bass and rich melodic swells as defensive weapons. Slick and accessible without ever being conventional, Ardent' convincingly collages stuttering and minced sequences together with steady percolation and smooth, brassy undertones - three different sonic 'states of matter' that unify to make Kangding Ray's musical imagination into an almost tactile thing.

The entity known as Rrose, meanwhile, presents a track here that reaffirms that artist's expert skill at crafting perfectly symmetrical and mesmerizing musical palindromes (a skill that can be seen on other standout Stroboscopic Artefacts tracks like The Stare,' and also on Rrose's interpretation of James Tenney's classic palindrome Koan (Having Never Written A Note For Percussion)).' The track in question, Swallows,' is appropriately named, impressing upon listeners like the sonic equivalent of a massive searchlight which, once it lands upon its target, swallows or vacuums up the listener's conscious attention. This elegantly arching set of multiplying and disintegrating waveforms rewards those with the courage to return its insistent gaze and to play at maximum' volume to reveal the wealth of detail concealed within its deceptive minimalism.

With its scientific exactness and sheer originality, this split is an essential listen not just for fans of either artist, but also for any seeker after new perceptual revelations.

Fly By Night Music keeps up the heat with this new 10" offering from Low Low. Once again it is limited, this time to 100 vinyl only copies, and comes with a beautiful letter pressed sleeve.


Over the past few years, LOWLOW has previously released on Seattle's Night Gallery and Millions of Moments and has proved himself adept at getting plenty of soul and meaning out of his array of analogue machines. This new EP is no different and comes with a special catalogue number, FBNM-H910, which is a nod to the Eventide H910 Harmonizer - a pitch shifter that generates obscure melodies and that was used extensively on the two tracks here.


A side 'Lower States' is a beautiful example of analogue music where you can pick out the harmonizer on the clap and on the pitch shifted delay. It's a raucous, off beat house track with gloopy synths, acid rumbles and plenty of malfunctioning machine sounds all sounding pleasingly rough and ready.


On the flipside, 'Lowest Sun' expertly samples a vocal from Larry Levan's mix of Jaki's 'Sun Sun Sun' and buries it in a supple deep house arrangement that oozes warmth, soul and has a perfectly grumbling bassline.
